Has anyone even noticed that the Light of Truth is radically different from the other Lights of the other Ancients?

(we will omit the fact that the light of Freedom is broken here; if it were collected, it would glow exactly the same as the others)

Concepts for the Light of Freedom this time!!

They're based off of moths/butterflies + bonus undercut

The lights all are connected to one another, but sometimes have disagreements/silly

Freedom thinks Truth is a bit too blunt with it's wielder

"Megatron must be stopped, no matter the cost!" Magic Square Light of Freedom aka Optimus Prime. This is a Metallic version and it's My G1 Optimus for now. The figure itself I give a MP10 out of 10. Double Knee Joint and Individual fingers are great, love the blaster, but the Energon Ax is tough to get on this guy's hand. Overall it's a good figure, not my 1 of top 12 figures if this year, but it is good.

I know that canonically White Lily’s soul jam was never actually corrupted and just split up, but we can all agree that she (& Dark Enchantress) was on a very thin line or should’ve been.

With that I wanted to discuss what her corrupted soul jam would have been.

We know that the original soul jams were split in two, for example: Knowledge was split into truth & deceit (to quote Elder Faerie Cookie). So White Lily’s soul jam is already a split fragment, but then we also know that with the Dark Flour War, all of the soul jams were split into even more pieces.

White Lily Cookie has the Light of Freedom. A split fragment of the Soul Jam of Solidarity. Silent Salt has the other fragment: Silence. Solidarity was split into Freedom & Silence.

Going with that theme, I believe that the corrupted or fragment of the Light of Freedom would be

Isolation

White Lily Cookie isolated herself from her friends in her journey to find the answer of their creation

She never had her own massive kingdom and was not a household name unlike the other Ancients. Instead she had an isolated kingdom that everyone believed to be a myth

Going back to her journey, she did it alone and purposefully made sure that no one but the king knew of what she was doing

Dark Enchantress Cookie made her base the Witches Oven, an isolated place in the world that no cookies explore

All of her operations to take over the world are inside missions, she has shown herself only twice to cookies outside of the legion. She has her minions do all the work while she commands from isolation

Also the Witches Castle narrator and First Cream Cookies mistress have the exact same voice as White Lily Cookie/The Light of Freedom

Feels like a Friday post. But you can on Saturday too if you want.

Either way, you want to chase the hat.

NGL leaving my job after was terrifying.

No backup plan and no health benefits. Just me, a spiked nervous system, a trashcan LinkedIn bio I abandoned circa 2017 with honours.

I spent the first two weeks crying, I did that. Then reorganizing my fridge, using a lot of Windex around the house, checking my email like a raccoon checking dumpster locks. Nothing came. And sigh.

No word from HR. But the world didn’t end. My old boss didn’t send an apology or even a passive-aggressive emoji. Just hot red radish silencio ad absurdum. For a while.

And then something weird happened.

I started sleeping again. My shoulders unclenched for the first time in six years. One day I laughed. Can you / I believe it? Like really laughed. And it was not a coping mechanism sliding into an entropic spat of sob sobs.

It turns out walking away from a place that gaslights you into thinking you were the problem can be the best career move you have ever made.

I’m still broke and scared and still always figuring it out. But at least now when I cry, it’s not because I’m being slowly turned into spirals of flesh-coloured chaff in the old pencil grinder gig 'conomy, know what I mean?

Anyways, freedom’s weird. I think I want to hesitatingly and forcefully recommend it.

What do the ex-Beast Cookies think about the Witches?

I can imagine that as Beast Cookies they must've not liked them, but how do they feel about them now without their corruption?

Is there still a bit of lingering resentment or do they understand what the Witches had to do?

BM: Ehh... At the time it was- understandable from their perspective. Regardless of our current states...

You're right, none of them like the Witches.

I think depictions of Anya being cruel to Curly or drawing out his suffering are artful and chilling but completely miss the point of the story and her character.

I'm not saying she doesn't deserve to have that "I told you so" moment with him but not in something callous or cold. Even if that is how it happened, she'd immediately feel guilty cause at that point she's not tormenting her tormenter or even the person truly at fault. She's doing something cathartic, similar to how Jimmy likely hits Curly to release rage he can't against the rest of the crew. She'd see herself as no different when she'd come back from the moment and see Curly cowering at her. She wants someone to take responsibility but how does being cruel to the defenseless help? Why would she want the power Jimmy has over her over Curly?

The idea of her extending someone else's pain is just so against the struggles she already faces and how she can't even bring herself to cause someone pain even to help them. Her very desire is to release herself from her own suffering and I doubt she'd even fine some sort of guilty release in being cruel to another.
