Lemme break down the deets, please read in your Blurr voice! 😂 whose better then a deluxe articulated Prime that comes with his blue metallic tinted matrix of leadership, his toy styled black blaster, his animation styled ion blaster cannon, 5 mm ports in various strategic places, lightpiping yellow eyes, weapon storage on the back freightliner truck bed, the ability to hitch to multiple trailers 😉, smokestack upgrades, cybertron radial pvc rubber tires, nobody nobody nobodyyyyyyyyy!!

When I was a kid I used to dream of things like this, I always wanted my Optimus to have permanently attached fists and I always wanted that dang blaster to fit in his hands smmoooothly, so many other things dreaming 🛌 well wake up fans, he is here and you can preorder this beauty this Thursday at 1 pm et!

@look-back-month-challenge Day 15: Have you ever made a custom?

Yes! I've only finished little things so far but I've got some bigger projects in the works that I'm too shy to show off progress photos for.

Maas Toys Rune had a cute face but I like my Glyphs with a visor and facemask, so I swapped her head with their Goldbug's and painted the (silver) mask with a layer of Modge Podge tinted orange to get something closer to her canon look.

I was originally planning to just scrape the blue paint off Flareup's eyes and let her rock non-canon orange lightpiping but I decided I actually like how blue stands out for her. So, I swapped the back of her head with the a broken Prime Arcee's.

For Slipstream and Lifeline, I took their heads apart and did scrape off the paint from their eyes, then painted their clear plastic with more tinted Modge Podge.

T30 Arcee always seemed to me like she was missing a little something, so I gave her a little something. I added black to her elbows, her heels, her belly and her crotch and added the red that she always should've had on her belly buttons (which I realize now is kinda hard to see here but trust me). I also got rid of the ridges in her hands so she can hold her accessories properly.

Kingdom Blackarachnia has been repainted to resemble the cancelled Halloween Horrorcon deco. She's sporting Buzzworthy Blackarachnia's head here because I'm struggling to get the Kingdom head to look the way I want. In hindsight, maybe I should've just painted it and called it a day, lol. I'm getting there, though, I'm getting there!

Excited to report I got my headphone monitoring system working downstairs in the studio tonight

The monitor mixers let someone plug headphones in and change the volume/panning/eq of 16 different channels to taste.. i overcomplicated it by running the 16 interface output channels from the computer through a pair of avb streams to a second avb box mounted in the rack and then lightpipe optical out from there to the ultranet input box below it and I spent an hour squinting at routing matrices but I figured it out I think — so far I have the stereo output from the computer locked to channels 15 and 16, and 1-14 can be routed from the daw for each session

anyway i have a good feeling about it

Just realized I never showed off my customs here! Flareup's new lightpiping comes courtesy of swapping the back of her head with a junker Prime Arcee's. Slipstream's and Lifeline's come from scraping the paint off their eyes and coating their clear plastic in Mod Podge dyed with food coloring. Mass Toys Rune's head was swapped with Maas Toys Gold Skiff's and then the mask was also coated with a couple layers of colored Mod Podge. I'll probably scrape that of at some point and use actual paint but, y'know, the Mod Podge was already out and I thought the transparent layers would look neat over the silver-- and it does! She looks so much more properly Glyph now~

All pretty minor stuff, I know, but I'm happy with the results and I'm looking forward to trying some more advanced alterations soon!
