If you've been here for a LONG time you might have seen that art akshwkhsiqjwj (if you haven't been here for long...yeah, I made this au like 2(almost 3) years ago and then I abandoned it... BUT IT'S BACK AND IT'S ACTUALLY A COMIC NOW)

I changed the scene a lot because honestly it made no sense????WHY DID THEY HAVE AXES???? WHERE???? HOW?? That's bothering me so much

And like, I realized it didn't need to be complicated, sometimes simple things work better and are smarter!! ;]

Honestly it's good that I started the comic now, cause I draw so much faster and also the story is way more clear in my adult mind hehe

—BECAUSE KUNG FU PANDA 4 KILLED MY GRANDMA, OKAY?

To preface, I watched this movie and I'm genuinely tweaking right now so I had to write down a very brief (lie) criticism on this film — which you should boycott, by the way.

Starting with the things I liked, before briefing my primary points of criticism:

The Chameleon

I'd also yap about Lord Shen and the death of the art style and the entire narrative and pacing and use of the staff of wisdom but my therapist says being such a hater is 'unhealthy' or something. My heart is full of hatred.

SPOILERS for the entirety KFP4 for the 2 people who care.

KFP4 undermines and ignores the previous three movies — Unwriting character developments, outright removing the Furious Five, straying from the character design philosophies and is completely inconsistent with the established lore.

Things I Liked About Kung Fu Panda 4

The Chameleon's character design

Visual gag in the Tavern where Po uses a recently thrown axe as a hat rack (made me laugh)

Po — Character Writing

Po, as established in the previous movies, is confident in his abilities and identity — he’s learnt inner peace, he’s matured as a character. However, in KFP4, his character has completely regressed. He’s immature again (such as KFP1, possibly worse) and says verbatim, “only knows kicking butt and taking names” — UNLEARNING inner peace and insisting that “…being the Dragon Warrior is all I know.”

It’s childish, and sort of Hotel Transylvania-esque.

Which isn’t helped by the comedy, the dialogue — a large chunk of which are jokes in the style of:

Master Shifu says something philosophical

Po quips off of it / doesn’t get it (i.e. Whoa!! beat I don’t know what that means.)

Oh, it’s great, yeah, very tolerable. Po’s shenanigans are normally reeled in by the presence of the Furious Five who are generally more serious in nature, creating a much needed balance in the dynamic — So without them, it’s just Po becoming increasingly obnoxious and insufferable with every consecutive quip throughout the screenplay.

Po and Zhen — Character Dynamics

As if it wasn’t obvious that Zhen was going to be the next Dragon Warrior the second she was introduced.

Zhen, as a character, has no depth besides being a quippy thief. She quips, she steals. This character has no motives — it can be assumed that the writers intended on a ‘change of heart�� thing, but she isn’t established as evil, her working for the Chameleon is written as a (albeit poor) twist reveal.

By which point, her taking either side wouldn’t make sense, given that she has shown no loyalty or attachment to either Po nor the Chameleon.

The movie artificially strengthens their bond by having Zhen start opening up about her backstory out of nowhere for no reason but they have done nothing to grow closer to each other.

Small tangent, her backstory is exactly what you’d expect it to be with no subversions or even emotional weight. Woe is me I was so small and hungry I had to steal to survive. Glossed over in about a minute.

The majority of the dialogue between Zhen and Po is spoken exposition — explaining how powerful and badass the Chameleon is, explaining how ‘we have to go here to do that’ and ‘this place was cool until the Chameleon did such and such’, and the rest of their time together is spent engaging in filler chase sequences and fight scenes.

The Chameleon

Where do I even start…

This is where it becomes apparent that the movie relies heavily on telling rather than showing —

She is the weakest villain by far, not only in universe but as a written character; which is particularly disheartening because I genuinely adore her character design and feel as though a shapeshifting character has great potential.

The movie artificially inflates her power by insisting through exposition that this is the most capable antagonist thus far (lie).

The audience is TOLD by Zhen and various restaurant patrons that the Chameleon is a powerful shapeshifting sorceress and that she 'dominates the city' whilst the film does nothing to showcase this.

'Dominating the city' meaning letting her henchpeople run amock and bully the civilians just like Lord Shen's wolves in KFP2... uninspired.

I just realised they didn't even give her a NAME what the FUCK is going on

She describes HERSELF as ruthless, clever and unsentimental when comparing Zhen to herself.

She says HERSELF that she’s “Stronger than every opponent you’ve ever faced.”

Let’s see what vile reprehensible things she’s done, shall we?

Gently push someone down some stairs

Her first appearance is through Zhen’s exposition, as opposed to the dramatic and memorable entrances of the previous villains. Her motives or character aren’t established until the final third of the film. She doesn’t even FIGHT anybody until the final third of the film; and even then, her fight sequences are uninspired and she never really poses a real threat. (She goes down in two hits.)

That being said, WE CAN STILL SAVE HER GUYS WE CAN STILL GET HER OUTTA THERE I'M COMING FOR YOU CHAMELEON I'M GONNA DRAFT YOU A PROPER BACKSTORY AND MOTIVE AND YOU'RE GONNA BE THE MOST THREATENING VILLAIN THUS FAR

There's a scene after the climax of the film where all the kung fu masters and previous villains from the spirit realm bow to Po. I'm not going to provide my thoughts on this because I fear I may burst a blood vessel. Good day!

Closing Statements

To put it simply, Kung Fu Panda 4 was my Megamind 2.

The film rejects its predecessors in every way. It really feels as though they brought in somebody with no prior knowledge of the franchise to direct the movie.

It's a film that relies heavily on telling rather than showing — banking on the previous three movies to carry it through the box office.

It's just really disheartening to see studio execs turn one of the best franchises into a safe sequel cash grab and regress every character's development.

Nevertheless. I do adore the chameleon's character design so I might do my own take on her character.

As far as I'm concerned, there is no fairy godmother, there is no tooth fairy, and there is no kung fu panda 4.

6 hours of playtime of Hades II -thoughts so far

This post will contain spoilers so those who want to avoid seeing them please don't read anything under the cut. Also, take these are my first 6 hours only, my options might change, develop etc. Don't take anything too deeply as this is my brainrot i need to get out because I am just amazed by this game!

First - Melinoë and the story: 

Melinoë is the most badass sweetheart and she is very pleasant protagonist to follow and learn things in her footsteps, like Zagreus's dynamic to another character she can be respectful but can bite back when her line is past which I really like and it is fun to watch and person is hype for another interaction with NPCs and the environment. 

So far the story is ‘simple’ and I am putting it like that because so far we have a clear goal but you can sense there is something deeper going on and is really interesting to explore. So far I got into the third level, already forgot the name of that but it’s the Mourning Plains or so and boy, that place gave me the creeps the first time I got there and THE BOSS!! oh boy :’DDDDD 

Gathering items:

This is what I kind of find refreshing in one way, that I can gather ingredients much faster than it was in Hades I. Maybe it is just me but gathering the crystals in Hades I is tedious and I still need to buy so much furniture for the house. So far I like the variations you can get and use things for. The gardening is very nice and I think I saw Odysseus checking the garden at one point?? very cute. 

And taking different tools for the run so far doesn't feel like bother to do so and if you unlock forget me not you can actually see what tool you need for recipes. So unlocked stuff is very helpful to you. 

Fighting: 

Of course, the fight style is very different than Zagreus had. Zag feels more like go and smash and be fast, while Mel feels more strategy fight. Not that is slow is still a nice hack and slash, and the difference is very nice to see between siblings! So far I unlock all the weapons and my fav is the axe :DD and the flame weapon is so funny when you are running with them XD 

Nemesis:

I do not really know all the lores about all the characters that are being in the second game as well some in the first game but I love how the game is built on Nemesis' interaction with your runs. How she sometimes (so far I have met her like four times or so in my runs) challenges you who have the most kills, clears the room before you even have a chance to stop and she blocks one doors so you have to choose the other door!! also she buy items in charon shop?? it feels so alive?? and I love it so so much!

Hermes and Artemis:

AAAAAAAAAAA seeing these two actually being there with you is so cool! love it 

Clothes: It's such a tiny detail but when you get different fabrics your clothes change color and is so adorable TTATT ofc my fav is lavender

Cats, dOGS SO MANY ANIMALS:

CHAOS: okok when I seen the door to the dimension where Chaos is I sprint there without any thinking but seeing the SPRITE??? hello?? IS THAT MEG?? what does that mean, what is happening why does Chaos look like Meg? What happened to the underground?? This was a point in the game where I really stopped and my brain did this:

I’m the anon who wanted to gobble this up and boy did you feed. You’re so right and you should say it, Niki was criminally underrated (I’ll admit I ignored her until techno worked with her more, and I’ve gone back to rectify that bc she’s badass). Also, the elemental aspect for those three is so perfect, and lends itself really well to their entire arcs. Even recognizing that Techno fights fast and loose (rather than like most others who stand their ground thanks to the new combat system, Technoblade used a sword and focused on getting behind people rather than proper axe combat), he also was someone who would get stubbornly stuck in his ways/set in stone (re: the whole bit between him and Tommy and the rebuilt L’Manberg, his steady and unwavering loyalty to Phil, keeping stubbornly to his principles of you get what you give, you could even argue the sword is an extension of that). Niki could go scorched earth with people who betrayed her, sometimes literally, it even fits with Jack and Niki’s little anti-Tommy arc, since Jack fostered and directed her fire until it almost burned her completely up. Wilbur was constantly shown to be drowning: his own mind, his responsibilities, etc. and then when he became Ghostbur, suddenly that water connection became a more literal burden, it did more than just drown, it could outright destroy him (in a way, just like it did when he was alive). Anyway, yes, very good, very good.

Sparkle Anon, I have been obsessing over this AU to the point where I have designed house plans for Aus for them all living together. I am not alright at all, no one let me on the sims or any other house design game.

Niki was one of the few streamers I knew going into the dsmp (fun fact, at first I thought Dream was a small streamer that Wilbur and Tommy had decided to help out by joining his server, you can imagine my surprise when I learnt otherwise).

I like assign elements to characters for fun, so I have thought about many dsmp characters as elements (Philza and Kristin are both Air, and Tommy is Fire, in case you're wondering). Especially when it comes to their relationships and how the characters interact with each other. I can literally go on and on about elemental symbolism about these characters. I could assign so much symbolism to these characters, don’t tempt me.

Honestly, the more I think about SBI+ the more fun it becomes. Especially where it concerns AUs. I have so many AU ideas I want to write, but I am trying not to make too many fics at one time (I am tempted to just start posting fanfic prompts to this account though but I don’t know how many people would actually be interested in it).

The angst potential. The fluff potential. The humor potential. Niki doesn't take away from the usual SBI dynamic, she only adds and I love it.

So, if you don’t mind, I would like to make a request. We have played games with Leshy, we have taken care of Leshy and he has done the same for us. Now, I want to kill for Leshy and protect him. You do this however you see fit. Can you do a scenario where we’re taking a walk with Leshy and they stubble upon a rabbis infested/crazy wolf? In which Leshy pays for his sins

It'd been night for so long, Leshy'd forgotten how the sun felt, burning and warm on his skin. How the grass and fallen leaves crunched beneath his feet. How the wind whipped around his body, showing him to and fro.

Beside the Great Scrybe was his player, the one that'd freed him from his isolated cabin, convinced him to return his fellow Scrybes to their former glory, and live again in a shared world, outside of the dark of his cabin.

Today, from sunrise to now sunset, they'd been out, exploring the newly reformed woods. Chirps and buzzes surrounded them in the forest, it felt alive, more so than it had in... in years, probably!

His player's hand in his own, Leshy felt what it was like to live again, not just though a tale, words and cards, but truly to run though the stream and balance on a fallen log! To lay in moss and tall grass and soak up warm sunlight! to breath the freshest air and feel truly at home.

Leshy felt as though he could continue running all night, exploring the furthest reaches of his domain. But even he struggled to see in the dark, and as the sun set on his first day back to normalcy, his challenger's gentle urging lead him back to his cabin home.

Howls of wolves, packs of wildlife filled the nighttime air. They were hunting, gathering. Leshy knew their calls well. Oh how he'd missed running with them.

"Leshy."

the voice was stern, low and growling. His player had not heard it, or at least didn't react to it. But Leshy did. He glanced to see where it came from.

Swift motion in the nearby brushes told him of an animal circling. Multiple, perhaps. Low and patient. Leshy's grip tightened on his player's hand, they still didn't seem to react to the beast calling his name.

A wolf, small and green, with fur like moss sat mere steps from the Scrybe of beasts. It looked calmly at him, one eye socket left empty, blood streaming down it's short muzzle, on the ground before it, a golden knife.

"Leshy?" The player stepped between the Scrybe and his opponent, the later vanishing as they did, "Are you okay?" They asked softly, holding his hand gentle in their own.

This drew him back to reality. The reality of a fox chasing it's prey in a nearby bush. The reality of his player, his beloved, dearest player, looking at him so concerned, ready to take on the world for him. He'd never ask such a thing of them.

He smiled, and pressed a kiss to their forehead, "Fine." He spoke soft and low, his voice rumbling in his chest, "Just fine..."

His player smiled, warm like the sun, soft like the wind, a gentle push to get him moving again, his fears aside. Their hand in his own they began on their way to his cabin once more.

They were ambushed while crossing some rough terrain.

A bolder here, a few old stumps, a fallen tree, and a pack of wolves stood between them and their safe, warm house.

Leshy was not one to know fear when faced against his beasts. He believed in a good battle, in combat and triumph and defeat. But his player was not.

His player, his beloved, his friend and closest challenger had only know such strife though cards, though make believe. Though a game. They shook in fear beside the Scrybe, desperately looking for a way out, a clear path to run.

But Leshy knew better. His packs were strong, brilliant beasts. If they ran, they'd be ambushed again, surrounded and killed without mercy.

He also knew his packs were a proud sort. They would not kill an innocent unless they were starving. Game was plentiful in Leshy's woods, his beasts would never want for food. So they must have a reason to confront him.

A glow caught Leshy's attention, a soft green coming from his player's right eye.

Eye...

Gold flaking and blood soaked Leshy's hands as he came to realization. He'd enacted the law of beasts. He was the Scrybe, but not the master. He was not above their laws, their judges and jury.

"An eye for an eye..." He spoke softly, pushing his play behind him. They gave protest, but he didn't listen. He would take his punishment. He would accept his crimes. So long as they were unharmed, he would not fight back.

The leader of the pack, a thinner short with narrowed eyes and grey fur stepped up to Leshy slowly. The Scrybe moved to meet her half way.

The beast pounced, and the Great Scrybe of Beasts fell silently.

When blood splattered across the ground ice cold panic hit shot though you. He was going to die. They were going to kill him. That's all you could think as your eyes locked with a rusted old axe left by some manic lumberjack NPC never finalized into the game.

They say in a crisis situation human bodies will push themselves beyond healthy limits, and you supposed this was proof of such, as the axe felt like it weight nothing in your hands as you swung it with all your might into the beast before you.

Blood coated the soft grey fur of the once proud pack leader as she fell. It pooled around her, turning into a lake. Her pack didn't dare move, perhaps they were shocked, or maybe, they were scared.

Leshy lay still on the ground, deep scratches covered the right side of his face, blood seeped from the wounds, the open socket empty, the left remained closed.

As the adrenaline wore off and you took in what you had done, your body convulsed at the gore before you, blood soaked into your clothes, your hands stained red, cold splatter on your cheek. You nearly threw up.

"l...Leshy... Leshy...!" You drew you attention away from the victim of your axe and knelt beside the Scrybe, shaking him, "Leshy! Leshy wake up!"

As commanded, Leshy awoke. His left eye creaking open like that of his cabin door, his orange eye glowing softly in the dark, contrasting to the green eye in your own head, glowing brighter as your panic rose.

His hand came to your cheek, wiping the blood from it, "Love... Are you unharmed...?" He spoke so calmly, his voice deep and smooth. You felt to may cry.

"Y-You're bl-bleeding!" You choked, shaking, not bothering to answer his question.

"Everything bleeds." He sat up, unphased by his own injuries. He looked upon the mangled corpse of his pack leader, her followers had moved to begin covering her body in leaves, a sort of burial amongst wolves. "My poor Alpha..."

"Sh-She wa-as going to k-kill you..." You gripped him, fearing the worst if you'd let him go.

"She was not." Leshy held you to him as he stood, more for your support than his own, "Violence for violence. That is the law of Beasts."

His hand steady on your back, Leshy once again began the walk to his cabin. You gripped him like a lifeline, ragged breath and shaking hands.

He didn't wish to desensitize you to death, like he and the rest of his twisted world was, so he'd left you fester on what you'd done on the walk home, breath in the scent of blood, feel the sorrow on the pack's howls in the distance. He'd allow it to soak in, so you could keep feeling. And when the two of you would get home, he'd sooth you properly.

A warm bath, a hot drink, and the rest of the night tangled safely in his arms. He'd let you know he is strong, that he will protect you, so you never have to do the same for him.

Tired old Edelgard V Rhea

Edelgard isn’t ‘good’ or ‘bad’ she’s morally ambigious as is Rhea. The problem with that is that the game tries to make one seem bad :/ giving the impression that one of them must be ‘bad’ to the player/fanbase. It’s why whenever the two are brought up can’t go without discourse

I try to be unbias and to see things from every angle I can: spoilers and trigger warning for below the cut

Edelgard: As I mentioned before, I felt like she was meant to be more antagonistic then what we got. Probably for a number of reasons it wasn’t followed up on. Wouldn’t want the only female lord of the game to be straight evil

Her affinity to flames: her secret identity the Flame emperor, her gambit being ‘raging flames’ and of course Gronder time skip where she sets the middle on fire after taking out Bernie and Petra. I lowkey think she was meant to set the final map ablaze too as it would honestly benefit her more as a means to stop reinforcement (I mean it would’ve backfired seeing how they kept sending falcon knights lol) 

I find her route lacking (not just length wise either) as I always found the choice to not have her deal with TWSITD an odd one as that’s what I joined her for after my GD playthrough, I knew she had beef with the chruch and the crest system from VW, and was interested on how she’d deal with the lurking evil as it was made clear that they were only using her. But then it’s a footnote at the end- I know it was likely planned that she would deal with them from datamines, but that’s still not in the game proper. Instead what we got was “Conquer this, conquer that after. War is wearing on me, this difficult path I must walk alone” before final dragon boss lady :o 

Edelgards story is tragic no doubt about that, but the writters clearly didn’t know how to handle it as the 12 dead siblings came out of nowhere in the first support we get. And TWSITD are made more menacing from spoken word than actions as all they really did (in the story we play) was kidnap Flayn, and remire. I guess nuking a fortress is something, but it was more plot convenience for Hubert to detect them that way (but that doesn’t happen in CF from what I remember) I guess in AM Thales tries to kill Claude, and Cornelia messes up Dimitri something fierce and theres hegemon Edelgard (damn TWSITD have a bigger prescence in AM than CF. VW only beats them in that regard in that Claude faces Nemesis and Thales and is the closest we see one of the lords in taking TWSITD down, damn)

And it’s a shame, because I wanted to like her character, axe wielding badass? Tragic story that she doesn’t let keep her down? Forging ahead to make her dreams a reality with what little time she has left could’ve been amazing

And then her route felt like they were really trying to get you to sympathise with her as she blushes and hides a painting of you. Like no other route in game is as blatantly ‘like me’ than that right? The closest I could think of compared to the two lords is Dimitri, and even that is a stretch as we deal with his suvivors guilt. He doesn’t do something to get the MC to like them like say, plop a wagon of flowers before you using his inhuman strength, he merely learns to accept that he can’t burden things alone etc., Claude doesn’t get focused on in his route much at all, but his supports have him learning to open up and reveals his past but he doesn’t whisk you away on his Wyvern in a grand romantic gesture

I get that Fire emblem is a dating simulation, but I can’t help but feel they try to get you to like her by cramming things like that down your throat, even Byleth as stand in player reflects this as I can recall “cute” being in every option for the painting cutscene. “That was a cute shriek” followed by “Really, very cute...” her shriek is treated as moe moe cute while her deadly fear of rats is ignored as MC notices her painting to which she flusters and states “leave here at once, I’m changing you must not look!” “Forget what you saw that’s an order o////o”

Like nothing wrong with fanservice, just can it not start with a crippling fear to be glossed over ffs, it’s not that hard to fit cute things in and have her character be explored some other time

Rhea is a whole can or worms. She’s as difficult to place as Edelgard for different reasons, as the archbishop she’s seen as ruthless in pre timskip as she kills all those who oppose the church (which is made to be a bad thing but most of those ‘bad’ things were prompted by TWSITD. Without TWSITD, people find no real issue with the church aside from Crest (which wouldn’t be a thing without those who rave in the dark) and you can’t blame Rhea entirely for placing crests above all else, the sacrifice of her breathern was made from it, so why not honor the bloodlines of her kin? it was something that hurt even her as in VW she states that she was never able to forgive those who proudly wielded the relics crafted from the bones of her breathern- it was a sort of self-fulfilling prophecy that made her mad

Mad enough to try get her mother back to fix all that was lost. She did f’d up things, on par with TWSITD to get her mother back. But without the context of having to treat the corpses of nabateans as sacred and holy while despising the very concept and having to keep the history secret from even her most trusted allies?

(Seteth and Flayn lived a long time, but they don’t know the true history, pretty sure they came after the heroes relics were already established and treated as sacred and holy as Rhea stated she was the only one to survive the red canyon and was the last child of the progenitor god)

There is no ‘right’ and ‘wrong’ with them. And I hate that there are side’s to this equation when there really shouldn’t be- Agarthans are the bad guys, plain and simple. People don’t like their inclusion but they are regardless and it baffles me how people forget about them in arguements

↳ jo harvelle's first weapon was a bow & arrow. it makes her really good at LARPing.

"You know it's fake, right?" Charlie asks, ducking underneath a tree branch littered with yellow and orange leaves. She's wearing her usual gear for these woods, chainmail and red Moondoor cloth that compliments her hair.

"I know," Jo shrugs. She tries not to wince at the crunching noises of their feet against the covered ground. "But it makes me your specialest little knight, doesn't it?" she knocks their elbows together, wiggling her fake bow for emphasis, "Shining armor and everything."

Charlie rolls her eyes and shoves her shoulder back in jest. "You wish."

They come up on the Queen's Royal tent, and they both smooth their features down to concentrated seriousness. It's all for the sake of the fumbling peasants and townspeople that are milling about and pointedly whispering about Charlie's appearance, but it's over soon enough once they duck inside the tent.

Dean turns on his heel, exasperation on his face.

"Finally! The hell were you two? I've had peasants asking for you for the past twenty minutes."

Jo sets down her bow and pulls out her (real, thank you very much) hunting knife to toy with.

"You take this way too seriously, dude."

Charlie sighs, facing Dean. "What is it? Did something happen?"

Pouting from Jo's comment, Dean's got his hands on his hips and looking back and forth between them, debating whether or not to tell them.

"Spit it out!" Charlie waves a hand in front of his face.

"Fine. But just so you know, I take this the perfect amount of seriously." Jo scoffs. "They said something about a scout sighting to the east. Think the enemy's on their way."

"Already?"

"That was fast," Jo concedes, pocketing her knife again.

"Yeah. I was just about to head out to go find you, but you managed to stop your dilly dallying just in time."

A loud crunch of leaves just outside the tent makes Jo whip her head around.

"Hey, we were not—"

"Shh," Jo says, quietly going to her bow. There's a shadow being cast on the outside of their tent, and Jo points to it before pulling an arrow from her quiver and readying her stance. It was a fake bow, sure, but it reminded her a little of the first one her father had given her when she was eight. That, and she and Ash had made some modifications so that it was practically the same as a real bow and arrow, except the tips were styrofoam instead of stone so that they couldn't actually hurt anyone.

It's certainly better than Dean's plastic sword, and equipped with the albeit uncomfortable armor Charlie had insisted she wear, Jo felt like a badass.

No shotguns or handhelds. Just her fingers brushing her cheek, and eyes narrowed on the target.

The tent flap pushes in, and that's when two more shadows appear from either side of the first.

"This isn't possible," Charlie whispers behind her. "They're supposed to have only just sent a scout."

"Fifteen minutes is a long time in Moondoor," Dean quips, and then the figures make their entrance, breaking into the tent.

Jo shoots, ignoring the arm raised towards her wielding an axe, and lands an arrow straight to the forehead. It bounces off, and it takes a second for the guy to register it before slumping to the ground.

Dean's got one of the other ones handled, so Jo turns to the girl currently in hand to hand with Charlie, and aims her arrow. Before she can let her arrow fly, she feels her elbow knock in to something hard. Jo turns and faces the newest jackass in the tent, someone whose face is hidden underneath their hood and stands a few feet taller than her.

She swings with her bow still gripped in her hand, knocking a real punch to their jaw before she can remember to take it easy. These people didn't know how to actually fight it out—this wasn't a hunt—but then they push her back just as hard, and Jo nearly stumbles into Charlie.

Dean, finished with his first opponent, takes the opportunity to go for the person's back while Jo regains her bearings.

"Was that real?" Charlie wonders, eyes wide. She has the girl's back pressed against Charlie's front, one arm loosely around her waist while the other holds a fake dagger to her neck. "We can stop."

Jo shakes her head. "No," she says, "but kill her already."

Charlie frowns. "I was gonna use her as leverage."

"They're the leverage," she nods over at where Dean has the tall person struggling against the ground. Once more, Jo knocks an arrow into its place on her bow, stepping forward to aim it at around the person's chin. It's still too dark under the hood to see clearly.

"Who are you?" she asks, "And why did you attack?"

They're quiet, so Dean jostles them a little, and then spares a glance at Jo before pulling the hood back.

Jo lowers her bow.

"Sam?" the three of them ask. He holds his hands up and chuckles.

"You got me."

Dean gets off of him. "What the hell are you doing in Moondoor?"

Sam raises an eyebrow, sitting up. "You take this stuff way too seriously," he says. Turning to Jo, "And you nearly knocked me out." He puts a hand to his jaw, rubbing a little. "What if I was just some guy?"

Jo rolls her eyes. "Sometimes I forget that this is," she eyes the 'dead' people on the ground, "...Moondoor."

"It was pretty badass though."

Charlie slaps a hand on her shoulder, and Jo beams. "Yeah," Charlie smirks, "she's my knight in shining armor."

The relief in Ira was so big you have no idea, Ezekiel was the same but he was a tad bit jealous that you where there with Marshall

Ira always tries to help the mortals leave the nightmare, and Ezekiel refuses to kill, so he'll be the one spending the most time with you

Both are masters of dates even though they never dated anyone, but they know exactly everything you like

Jace and Kit bonding

Jace and Kit were meeting up for their monthly visit. It was Jace's turn to go to Cirenworth and see Kit.

Next time Kit would come to New York. He enjoyed it there because Jace and Clary would let him eat all the cookies he wanted.

Sometimes Jace would bake the cookies, he was good at baking, and Clary would decorate them, he was not good at decorating. “That's why Clary is his perfect partner,” he'd said half jokingly one time.

Clary and Jace had come to be protective of Kit, as they had with Emma Carstairs and the Blackthorns. And like they were with their nephews.

Jace and Kit had been sitting around for a while in a comfortable and peaceful silence.

”So,” Jace said breaking the silence. “You've heard about Will Herondale and James Herondale and even Tobias Herondale. But did you hear about Lucie?”

“I've heard a little,” Kit replied. “Didn't she write a lot?”

“Yup. Basically, she was like a fanfiction writer,” Jace smiled. “I wish we could read her work. I believe it was called The Beautiful Cordelia.”

Lucie Herondale had also done other things, things that were technically breaking the law. Which only made Jace want to meet her more.

“Sounds gay,” Kit said.

“All good things are a little gay,” Jace laughed a little. It was something a drunk Alec had said randomly one time, and it stuck. “She was also cousins with the Lightwoods.”

“I think they should have been the Gaywoods,” Kit laughed.

“Agreed,” said Jace. “And then there's Cecily Herondale-Lightwood. She killed a giant demon worm.”

“She sounds badass.” Kit sat up from where they were lying on the floor.

“She was,” Jace gave a slight nod as he sat up as well. “I bet she was super cool. Did you hear about Ella Herondale?”

He nodded. “She seems like the bravest of them all, honestly.”

“That she does,” he agreed.

Jace thought of Rosemary — he didn't know much about her, but she seemed like a brave woman as well. But he thought better than to bring her up, he didn't want to upset Kit.

“I feel like the Herondale women are just cooler,” Jace said.

“Jem said that if Will heard you either of us saying that he'd put on a show to prove his coolness,” Kit informed.

Jace shrugged. “The coolest people I know are women. Clary, Izzy, Emma," Jace listed. "Tessa as well. I could keep going.”

“True.”

“Alec's also cool,” Jace added.

“He seems like it. I talk with him a lot when he and Magnus come to visit,” Kit said. "He seems so assuring and wise.”

“He is. But he'll never admit it,” Jace smiled fondly at the thought of his parabatai.

“How high do you think Cecily had to jump to land on the back of the worm?” Kit asked, shifting back to the original topic.

“Very high, probably,” Jace answered. “I bet it was super cool.”

“Don't you think anyone killing demons is cool?” Kit raised an eyebrow.

“Yup,” he winked. “And they look good doing.”

Kit shook his head, but smiled.

“I wonder if Tessa has a copy of Lucie's writing,” Jace said.

“She might. But she might not want anyone reading it," Kit looked down. "It might be something precious to her, you know?”

Jace did know. The Lightwoods still kept that toy Shadowhunter that Jace had given Max. They never got rid of it, it wasn't something your could get rid of. Izzy barely let anyone touch it for the longest time. Or the text messages from Robert they'd never deleted from their phones. He could imagine that's what Lucie's writing if for Tessa.

“But,” Kit added, “maybe she would love that we're interested in Lucie's writing. Did you know she used an axe?”

“I did. Have you ever seen the show Brooklyn Nine-Nine? Simone and Clary introduced it to me. One of the women in it said 'What kind of woman doesn't own an axe?' And I bet Lucie would have agreed.”

“I've watched the show. Rosa is a badass.”

Jace nodded. “We should watch it together next time.”

“Sure, I'd love that,” Kit agreed. “Then we won't have to talk about things.”

“Ah, teenage angst,” Jace sighed.

“Like you weren't the same as a teenager,” Kit shot back.

“Oh, no. I was worse. That's why I'm sighing.” He smiled.

“Whatever,” Kit snorted.

“I wonder if Cecily liked blades,” Jace looked up.

“Probably. Isn't that like a Shadowhunter thing?”

“Maybe,” Jace shrugged. “Or maybe it's a badass thing. Speaking of which, how is training with your sword going?”

“Good,” he said, a little uninterested.

“How's Mina?” Jace decided to change the subject.

Kit's face lit up then. “She's adorable and amazing. She's going to be a badass.”

He went on to tell Jace about everything Mina was doing. He told her about their recent visit with Magnus, and how she called him Agnes.

“You know what I think?” Kit had mischievous grin. “I should change Magnus' name in my phone to Agnes. Then change Tessa's and Jem's. You should also change yours.”

That would be hilarious, Jace thought.

Jace held his hand out. “Let's shake on it.”

Kit shook his hand. “Even if he turns us into something, it'll be worth it.”

“Agreed,” Jace grinned. “Besides, he already has me in his phone as 'Blondie.' I'll consider this pay back.”

“And they say revenge isn't sweet,” Kit joked.

They both laughed.

Kit was like a little brother to Jace now, it was something he hadn't felt in a long time. Not since Max. He was grateful for Kit.

It came time for Jace to leave, he said good-bye to Jem, Tessa, and little Mina. And for the first time Kit didn't hesitate to give him a quick hug good-bye. Jace ruffled his hair.

He was a good kid, Jace thought.

I love how when they're fighting Astrid's still there for him whenever he's expected to have all the answers. She ignored her anger and went over to him and grabbed his hand and that single thing was what gave him confidence in a moment of panic 🥺

That final Hiccstrid scene in Mi Amore Wing was just too perfect, we have Hiccup grabbing Astrid's hand to bring her outside and talk to her, the sunset in the background, every little thing Hiccup told her about being there for her and loving her with everything he had and that he should've noticed the necklace right away AND THEN THAT KISS WAS JUST AMAZING❗️❗️❗️ it was passionate and sweet and Astrid was blushing and then Fishlegs was all uncomfortable and Mala was like "okaaayyyyy😏" and Dagur like "alrighhtttt👌🏼" ig the only thing I didn't like is that Astrid didn't say I love you back 😭 but it's ok cause yk she does I just wished she had said it.

If I could have any dragon it'd be in this order

Skrill - it's so badass and powerful

Nightfury - it's badass, powerful, pretty, strong and fast

Deadly Nadder - it's extremely fast and agile, has multiple attacks and the spikes

Dramillion - has multiple attacks and is very smart

Just realized that ep8 is called Triple Cross because 1st Johan crossed Viggo 2nd Viggo fake crossed Hiccup and 3rd Viggo and Hiccup crossed Johan and Kogan

That episode was basically jusr to show Viggo's arc and the way he changed for the better and learned to respect dragons

That's why the Singetails wouldn't leave in ep9 whenever they were trying tp free the Deathsong- their eggs! They're in that island.

I can't with Hiccup and Astrid sitting together just chilling but with Astrid feeling guilty and Hiccup assuring her that he was also at fault 😭

I love Narrator/Author Snotlout! The titles of the chapters of his book remind me of the ones from Pjo

Stoick and Skullcrusher acting as 1 and being worried about each other 🥺 I love their relationship

Also the way Stoick bats off the shots from the Singetails with his axe just like Astrid. They're both truly warriors

The Dramillion is a distant cousin of the Changewing which means the Titanwing Dramillion shares the de-cloaking ability with its subspecies.

Stormfly's spine clone was literally so badass, my girl was surrounded and she finished every single dragon flyer with it. Badass move. Wish we had seen it more throughout the series

It really pissed me off that Hiccup had to choose between getting Tuff, Ruff and Snotlout out of that sinking ship when he could've been following Krogan. Like ofc it was the right decision but that wouldn't have happened if the twins and Snotlout didn't follow Gruff into the ship :/

I love how strong Barf and Belch are! They literally carried the a Titanwing Dramillion on their own.

That scene when they figured out that the Titanwing Dramillion is not the King of Dragons but instead the last piece of the puzzle to get to the King of Dragons

When the Wingmaidens got to the battle it was amazing

Also the way Dagur was so proud that the King of Dragons was a Berserker and how Ruff was so excited to see Wingnutt and Snotlout to see Minden🥺

that last Hiccstrid Scene where Hiccup is worried about Astrid's safety- I mean his face 🥺🥺🥺 and she told him that his dad would be proud and that she's proud too and when she was about to leave he held her back and kissed her 😭😭

She laughed a slight laugh out of nowhere, turning to look at him.

- Did I ever tell ya ‘bout the time I messed up my brother's sex in the barn?

- What? - Yoru bowed his head a little back, looking at her. - No. Which brother?

- Christian.

- Oh, no…- Yoru drank his hot chocolate. - The only brother who doesn't want to kill me?

- They don't want to kill you. - Skye laughed, patting him on the arm, making a thoughtful face then. - Well, it's not because they tried that they wanted.

Skye was the fourth of six children, being the only girl. The guys looked like alternate versions of Breach, each one more overprotective than the other. When Skye took Yoru to meet them, he thought the giants would slice him with the axes and serve it to Skye pretending to be a vegan nugget. If she wasn't tougher than any of them, protecting him, probably Yoru today would be ground beef.

- I bet that wasn't the last time. They hate me... - The Japanese grumbled, drinking his hot chocolate.

- They just need to get used to you. - Skye made a neglect gesture, drinking her hot chocolate. - Like your sister.

While Skye grew up with a snag of brothers, Yoru did not live long with his little sister. She was born when his radiant abilities awakened. He was forced to go to the "radiant boarding school", or worse piece of hell, as Yoru called it, until he was able to control his powers and be gradually "reinstated" into society. Despite this, the little one was extremely attached to her brother. Skye swore that the brat missed the tricks with her butterfly knife (a gift from Yoru, who, for some reason, thought it wise to give a sharp knife to a child) on purpose to throw it towards her, just for jealous. The girl was crazier in this aspect than Yoru himself. At that time, the Protocol was in Tokyo, so the two girls had to deal with each other. After Skye showed the right way to blind someone, the girl stopped picking on her. Soon they established a strong friendship. Yoru said they liked each other more than they liked him. He was sometimes afraid that was true.

- My sister doesn't have two meters or is strong enough to throw a horseshoe at my head. - Yoru looked at Skye, raising an eyebrow.

- That didn't even hit you. Stop being so dramatic. - The redhead took a lock of hair from the front of her face, filling her cheeks with air. - Where did I stop?

Yoru observed her expression with delight, finding her nostalgia wonderful. - Me and the twins did all our early work in the week just so I could go to the festival. But then, what does Chris do? He bribes Luke and Paul so they tell Dad we changed the chores. He took all the credit for the things we did, and we'd still have to clean the barn and... Do you remember the barn? - Skye turned to Yoru.

- No. - He denied it with his head, deciding he was going to hate Christian.

- So, the barn is huuuuuuuuge. - Skye made a grand gesture with her hands, almost pouring her chocolate on Yoru. - And we was what? Fifteen and fourteen years! It would take a long time to clean that up. - Skye sighed dramatically, drinking her hot chocolate, which was already halfway through. - When we tried to complain, Dad said it was ugly to lie and that we should keep our word. - Skye made an angry face. - Oh, if he wasn't at the table so I could punch Chris in the face! - The redhead punched the air, angry. Yoru loved her expression.

- If you want, I help you hit him the next time we meet. - Yoru looked at his almost empty hot chocolate mug, sighing. It was good while it lasted.

She held out her arms to him, opening and closing her fingers. – Come here.

If Yoru hardly liked to sit in the hammock, imagine moving on it. It was terrible! However, Skye just had to make a sly peck for him moved slowly towards her. We traded his candy in the box for the animal food, and we hid the condoms in the barn. - She laughed slightly. - You had to see his face when you opened the M&M boxes and only saw corn and lentils! - Yoru smiled, imagining the scene. – But the girl was already there. So, there wasn’t time for him to buy anything else. But the idiot was pushy and invented to do something for them to eat. His mistake was not kicking us into our rooms. He made Mery and Diah help him in the kitchen and put me in the living room to have a “girls talk”. - Skye made quotes with her hands, turning her eyes.

- He could have kicked you all into the kitchen. - Yoru thought out loud, raising an eyebrow.

- He was stupid. Then I started talking to the girl and… It was cool to talk with her. But I didn't miss an opportunity to make my brother look bad. He heard when I told her that he still loved Miraculous Ladybug and finally decided to lock us in the room. - Skye thrown her head back. - I mean, literally. Little did he know that Mery stole Paul's lock pick. He kept singing the theme of Mission Impossible for the whole time he broke down the door. - Yoru let out a slight laugh, thinking about the scene. - Then we went down quietly and went into hiding in the barn. They were cuddling in the living room, so it wouldn't take them long to miss the condom and go one way or another to the barn.

- Chris was still trying to process what the hell had happened, so I had to save her. Poor girl. - Skye gave a mean smile, tilting her head to the side. - Then I felt sorry and helped her clean up. Then Chris showed up out of nowhere trying to fight with me for everything that happened. Do you believe that the girl defended me? Just because I was a decent human being.

- The mastermind of the crime? - Yoru took a deep breath, trying to control his laugh.

- Yep. And you know what else happened? Two days later, she showed up wanting to be with me. - Skye pointed at herself, laughing.

- What the hell? - Yoru turned to Skye, wide-eyed.

- Yeeep! That's the plot twist. She went there to have sex with my brother and two weeks later she was having sex with me. Oh, but Chris got so mad!

Yoru laughed loudly, throwing his head back. He was already crying with laughter, feeling his belly contracted by laughter.

- Oh, no! - Skye tried to control her laughter, while Yoru had already given up, dying to laugh.

The redhead quickly got up from the hammock, going to the balcony, looking at the two in their respective apartments.

Yoru bit his lower lip, turning red as he tried to control his laught. His body still gave some spasms of fun and he was out of breath. He patted Skye’s hand, indicating to let him go. He took a deep breath, letting out some light laughs.

- BETTER STAY THIS WAY! - Sage screamed.

Skye looked sideways, taking a deep breath.

- Mate, I must watch when I tell you these stories. - She raised an eyebrow, looking fun. - You get uncontrollable.

Yoru nodded, still catching his breath.

- This shit hurts… - He pointed to the vase that had fallen on top of him, spreading dirt across the porch and on himself.

- Poor babyboy. - Skye pecked, clearing Yoru. She helped him sit, running her hand through his shirt, trying to get the remnant dirt off him. - You want a kiss to get better?

- I want! - He turned to her, smiling openly. A true smile that made Skye's heart beat in rhythm of the sambas that Raze put in the cafeteria.

She approached him, kissing him calmly. She let his tongue into her mouth, exploring every bit of it. Even if they were cold, Skye always thought she could melt on those lips. She ran her legs over him, sitting on his lap and passing her arms around his neck. She felt her skin chill when his hands entered her t-shirt, climbing up to her breasts, squeezing them. She groaned between their lips, rolling in his lap.

Strategies... If they kept going, he wouldn't say anything else about it. Skye walked away from him a little, giving him several little kisses.

- Do you want to... Know... The other part... The story? - She threw her head back, looking at him.

No. Again. He wasn't in the mood to hear anything other than Skye moaning his name at the time. But he sighed, nodding.

He leaned his head on her shoulder, giving long kisses in her neck. - It's just... My parents didn't know that I am bi... Chris was careful not to make anything explicit, but... Mery ended up open his mouth... - Yoru walked away from Skye, looking closely now. – Hell, they bashed me so hard that day… - She had a light laugh, playing with the collar of Yoru's shirt.

I tried talking to Slash after class, but he just ignored me. This is already a pain in the ass. As much as I tried to pay attention to the rest of my classes I couldn’t get Slash out of my mind. I have to work with him for the next two weeks. Finally, I decided that I would talk to him at lunch. He usually sits with me and the boys so I should be able to talk to him about it. Just as I thought, he sat with us at lunch. “So um Slash?” All of the boys looked at me partially surprised, partially confused. As I said I never talk to Slash. He liked it that way. Sadly. He rolled his eyes and sighed, “Yes?” The annoyance in his voice was very apparent. “When do you wanna um work on the science project?” Slash looked up at me, smiled, and started laughing evily. I felt stupid. Why is he laughing at me? “You really think I’m working on that thing with you? I’d rather die.” Then Duff slapped him in the back of the head. “What the fuck?” He whisper-yelled. Slash turned his gaze back to me. “Listen Y/N, you’re doing this. Alone. Without me.” I looked down and started messing with the hem of my shirt. I was embarrassed to say the least. “Yeah uh..alright.” That’s when Slash stood up and walked to another table. I felt like crying for some reason. He would rather die than spend time with me. Wow. I looked up to see a very annoyed Axl staring at me. “Why did you do that?” My eyes must have gone wide at his comment. “Me? What did I do? You heard what he sa-” Axl cut me off, “You can’t just let him boss you around like that. Are you doing anything after school?” I looked down, “No.” “Okay. Meet me outside by the big tree at door 5.” I nodded my head in approval, and that’s when the bell rang. The rest of the day didn’t go that great. I went to the bathroom for half an hour in one class, just to cry. Why am I crying? What kind of person sits in a bathroom stall and cries for half an hour? The only logical reason I could come up with was Slash and what he said. I liked Slash from the first day I met him, but he didn’t feel the same. The only person that knew about it was Axl. Axl was the person I could go to in the middle of the night when I was feeling bad about something. I couldn’t lie, it was usually Saul I was crying about. I would complain that I didn’t understand why he hated me or that I just wish he liked me more. Axl always calmed me down and told me everything would be okay. He was an amazing friend. I did as Axl said after school and met him at the tree by door 5. He was sitting there waiting for me. When I made my way over to the tree Axl stood up and walked towards me. “So you’re partners with Slash huh?” That was fast. “Uh yeah.” He nodded his head slowly. We began walking together even though I didn’t know where we were going. “Listen Ax if you’re trying to help me then that’s very nice of you, but you heard him. He would rather die than work with me.” I felt the sudden gut wrenching feeling of sadness once again. “You really believe that?! Listen Y/N, I know you don’t believe this, but Slash really likes you.” “Yeah yeah whatever Axl.” We stopped walking and sat on a park bench that was nearby. “ Listen I have a plan and trust me, Slash is gonna want to be partners with you after this.” The devious look in his eye was no comfort to me at all. “What the hell are you talking about Ax?” Axl laughed quietly at my curiosity. “There is a party tomorrow night at Duff’s house.” I furrowed my brows, “Duff’s house? What about his parents?” He nodded his head no as he spoke, “They’re gonna be out of the house all week.” My lips formed an ‘oh’ and I nodded my head. “Basically this is what’s gonna happen. You are gonna come to the party,” I put my hand up in an effort to stop him from speaking. “No Axl. You know that I don’t go to parties! My parents would kill me. Plus how am I even supposed to get out of the house? My parents would never let me go.” Axl laughed once again. “Sneak out.” He shrugged his shoulders. He said the words as if it was no big deal. Well it’s probably not a big deal to him. “Well ok but why would I even go?”

Axl smiled at me. “Ok so this is the plan. You come to the party looking like a complete badass. I’m gonna have one of the guys talk to Slash about you. Like tell him all this shit-” I cut Axl off again. “What do you mean by ‘All this shit’?” Axl rolled his eyes, “I don’t know Y/N. Just like saying you look good and shit. Anyways, hopefully Slash will see you and want to talk to you. Then if I know Slash, which I think I do, he will try to go out with you. That’s when you have to be a bitch.” “Excuse me?!” We both began laughing. “No, basically you just play hard to get. Tell him the only way you’re gonna go on a date with him is if he helps you with the project.” I felt weird about the entire thing. “Axl I don’t know. Look at us right now. I mean we are acting like we are fucking ten years old! You can’t just make a stupid plan like that and expect everything to go as planned.” Axl smiled at me, “You have a better idea sweetheart?” I looked at the ground. “No” “Good. Now let’s go see which one of the guys wants to talk about you at the party.” I gasped and lightly punched Axl on the arm, “What the hell Axl?!” He, on the other hand, thought it was hilarious.

Duff, Izzy, and Steven were all sitting on the floor, conversating about something. I sat next to Duff and watched as Axl began speaking. “Alright guys, which one of you is gonna talk to Slash about how sexy Y/N looks?” All three men looked at Axl blankly before laughing. “What the hell are you talking about?” Izzy was first to speak. “Remember that plan I told y’all about?” My head shot up and I looked at Axl. “You told them the whole plan?!” Axl didn’t answer the question, instead he kept talking. “Well which one of you is gonna talk to Slash? Ya know brag about her?” Duff looked at Axl and smiled. “Why can’t you do it?” Axl glared at Duff. “Cuz I made the plan smart ass.” Izzy and Duff looked at each other at the same time. - i loved the little detail right before the battle begins where tristan dramatically tosses his mask up in the air for byron to catch on the way down (the only other time we’ve seen him do this is in their interludes)

- tristan all but shitting his pants when victoria picks him up with the wretch unexpectedly

- the titan battle is just super duper fun! like it’s an absolute slog for the characters, but it’s just so satisfying to see everyone going 100% all out despite how little impact they’re actually making. and i love the concept that the titans have access to every iteration of their power that the shard could possibly manifest. noxious flesh eating maggot gas. everyone covered in nickelodeon slime. remember when we thought the endbringer fights were tough??

i dont know, i get why people didnt like the ending but its. .. . it makes more sense in the comicverse. bc the squad doesnt really. .. interact outside of jobs? i mean, think of the moon landing story in ttt. that was booker and joe and nicky doing a job and andy only showed up a for a couple minutes after it was done. or the brunch in the first issue of opening fire. the squad arent as tight in the comic, and andy often seems to do her own thing outside of work, so andy saying 'i dont want to do work anymore' and the squad being like 'alright bye then' makes more sense in this universe than the movie one

also i feel like greg was Trying to set up a thing where nile becomes the Leader of The Squad after andy dies but like. its not very well done since. . . i mean, nile hasnt spoken to booker since opening fire, (and she only knew him A Day). and shes known joe and nicky all that time, but there isnt really anything that indicates that they have any relationship at all, much less one that's grown. in all the comicverse the only time nile and nicky speak is in FM, and in that scene nicky tells nile about noriko. nile goes from someone who needs to be set aside to have background knowledge explained to her to being the Leader of the group with nothing in between. it kind of... comes out of nowhere.

on the other hand tho... i felt really bad for andy thru the whole thing. well, i always felt bad for andy, but in this one she seemed so miserable, especially since it really felt like none of the others actually.... cared about her. when noriko came back no one asked andy how she was doing (big question ik, but it wouldve showed they cared at least), nobody ever expressed any concern for her, no one even really seemed to want to be around her. in opening fire everyone was more distant than in the movie of course, but there were little moments where she would joke with joe, or nicky would try and comfort her, or stuff like that, but in FM it really felt like they just didnt really care about her. & in opening fire it felt a lot like andy's relationship with nile breathed some new life into her, but in FM it felt like all they did was argue. i get theyre not *as* close in the comics but it really felt like the only person who cared about andy at all was noriko (which was probably also how andy felt) but it just seemed to come out of nowhere. honestly i was reading and i was honestly agreeing with andy that she might just be better off if she did just die. opening fire, on the other hand, never make me feel that way

tho everyone made it sound like when the squad split up it was one of those cursed 'the found family leaves each other at the end of the journey' tropes. but guys i mean,,, this is the second installment out of three. that isnt the End. theyll come back in the third one and Dramatically Reunite to fight some baddies (probably those 'others' noriko mentioned). im guessing yitzhak fits into that too somehow.

anyways it wasnt That Bad but it made me kind of sad and the only Sweet Found Family vibes in it were when they saved booker. also they shouldve beefed up that nilemoose romance, it underwhelmed me. 6.5/10

How to Play as Teba AKA Birb Favouritism By Kip

This was too big to fit in an ask so here ya go anon!

A handsombe birb with a bow and a little patience, constantly in a power squat with enough spite to rival Ganon: Here’s your guide to the best main in Age of Calamity 

Teba is so good he’s so fast and so quick like omfg holy shit those strong attack damage output fucking crowd control AND is faster than Revali and pretty much everyone else at breaking weak point gauges like holy FUCK man So don’t let the chaotic attacks fool you! 

Considering you are here and asking yourself: How the fuck do I play as birb dad? You’ve probably encountered one of two problems that prevent you from taking advantage of him. 1) wth are these attacks is he even doing damage to this moblin??? I can’t comprehend these combos because I don’t know what is going on plz I just want to shoot arrows or 2) Where the fuck IS he I can’t fucking SEE anything?!?! where did he GO I’m getting motion sick

Well friend, here I am to help you with both of those problems to help you 1) Understand what the fuck is going on and 2) Find out where the fuck he came from, and where the fuck he go, cotton eye joe

His Y stream is straight forward, quite literally. You’ll notice very quickly that his attacks move his character forward, rather than being more still and stationary like Revali or Zelda(slate). I’m pretty sure his Y stream (as in, a pure Y combo with no X/strong attacks) has the furthest distance in the game, perhaps rivaled only by Riju. So basically, save your big Y combos for crowd control and NOT bosses like Moblins and the such. You don’t want to move your directional input too much, since his attacks have incredible distance and range already.

Y-Y-Y-Y-Y-Y: Sweep left, sweep right, charge forward, mid-air arrows forward, stomp land, large spiral forward, flash stomp to ground, to an ending backflip. 

You can see the distance here, again, with no directional input at all. Just pressing Y.

So just remember that even though the attack looks very chaotic, it’s really just a big fat straight line. 

In all honesty though, you could forget about his Y stream all together. Any benefit to them is basically trumped by his different combos which are superior in both one-on-one battles, and crowd control. 

Technically on it’s own, Teba’s combos are just good. He’s got a wind stream here and a loop twirl there. But what makes his combos arguably one of the most powerful in the game, is this ability here

This is pretty much the single handedly the most powerful perk Teba has, and it’s not even his Unique Action! It’s slightly similar to Link’s additional X action, but better in everyway. One of the draw backs of many strong attack combos are the slower speed it takes to dish it out, but this perk basically makes that draw back obsolete. It not only gives you insane additional damage, but also doubles, if not triples the length of a combo. Not to mention that half his move set is in mid-air, so the longer your combo is, the more time you’re off the ground and not taking damage. Basically, this equals fast damage for as long a length of time as you want. So! Onto the specifics

= = = = = = = = = = 

Y-X: Wind Stream. Functions essentially the same as a Y5 (spiral forward) combo, except slower. Its strength, however, lies in your additional X input, which puts you in mid air and allows you to do what I like to call an

Additional X: Arrow Pivot. You’ll know when you do it when the “Press X repeatedly” option comes up. And the end of his wind stream, Teba flies into the air and, with directional input, fires a barrage of and enemies below him up to a 360 degree movement. Final shot will be of a bomb arrow dealing additional AOE damage. You can spam the arrows for around 4 seconds in midair before it forces the bomb arrow finisher, but you can force it early by not pressing X or pressing B. In fact, for all future additional X inputs (I’ll be shortening that to AXs from now on) you can stop anytime you want but just pressing B to hover in the air. All his combos have the ability to lead into mid-air state, which can let you ride the wind and do more damage, but I’m getting ahead of myself. 

= = = = = = = = = = = 

Y-Y-X: Bomb Arrows. Teba sweeps left to right before launching into the air to fire seven bomb arrows (with his LEGS BY THE WAY) in a wide area in front of him. Deals AOE damage, of course.

AX: Instead of immediately going to bomb arrows, Teba will rapidly fire normal arrows (at your X mashing input) and can (optionally) fly forward while doing so at your directional control. This is honestly his best combo in my opinion because it not only is the best for crowd control, but is also one of the quickest ways to deplete any weak point gauges. Just remember to keep him stationary and not fly forward if you’re doing one-on-one, as you might just accidentally fly away from your enemy 

= = = = = = = = = = 

Y-Y-Y-X: Wind Bomb. Not to be confused with the speed running strategy Teba hovers in mid air and fires one massive stream of wind with a bomb arrow. It’s trail also does damage and drags enemies. Deals a LOT of damage, I believe it’s his strongest?

AX: Instead of immediately firing the wind bomb, he will fire normal arrows, but still enhanced with the wind effect. You can control the direction of any of the arrows with the controller. The finisher will be the wind bomb. While this combo deals a LOT of damage (like two normal arrow streams can take out a solid chunk of weak point gauge) It’s the slowest attack in his arsenal. There’s a larger time between each arrow strike, and if you use the full AX combo it keeps him hovering in the air for like 5 seconds, which leaves Teba pretty vulnerable. If you’re using this attack, don’t bother waiting for the wind bomb finisher and end the attack early. So while it’s technically Teba’s “strongest” in terms of damage, I wouldn’t call it his best

= = = = = = = = = = 

Y-Y-Y-Y-X: The Teba Tornado. Ok THIS is the move that has been ridiculed to death because of how chaotic it is. Teba basically swirls around in a circle and sucks any enemies into his little tornado, and then finishes with a gust of wind upwards

AX: Extends the time of the Teba Tornado, and control it’s direction, lasts for about 9-10 tornado swirls. 

DO NOT and I repeat DO NOT LOCK ONTO AN ENEMY WITH THIS MOVE. You will DIE of motion sickness, probably. Ok I mean, you could lock onto an enemy, but that’s not what this move is for. It’s intent is for gathering huge swarms of enemies into one place. The camera zooms out for a reason! It’s great for crowd control, but terrible for one-on-one. Control the movement of the tornado by moving based on the “eye” of the tornado, and not based on where Teba’s character actually is. I still stand by the fact that YYAX combo is superior, as it has better control and is much faster, but hey, this move aint all that bad once you learn how to use it

= = = = = = = = = = 

Y-Y-Y-Y-Y-X and Y-Y-Y-Y-Y-Y-X: Arrow Strike. This is the only combo that forces you into the AX “Press X repeatedly” state. Teba does his little Y stream thing, before launching high into the air, where you are then given a circle. Move the circle around while rapidly pressing X to fire arrows wherever you choose. Ends with a bomb arrow

Note that this attack will basically make Teba invincible. This is his highest attack, and even mid air attacks won’t reach him in this state. It’s also the longest lasting combo, giving you about 7 seconds to deal as much damage as you wish. Take full advantage of this. Excellent for weak point gauges, but the set up Y attacks do take time, so make sure to use stasis. 

= = = = = = = = = = = 

Dash-Y: Small AOE stomp. Nothing to write home about, not that much damage. Just your average set up for the combos that will actually do damage

= = = = = = = = = = 

Dash-X: Flips over enemies and fires arrows before continuing forward. Honestly looks pretty badass, similar to that backflip Revali does when he was about to assassinate Link. Anyhow, good for when you just want to kill something small but have places to be so it keeps your momentum forward.

= = = = = = = = = = 

X/AX: Fires arrows high into the air. After some time, the arrows will rain back down in front of you in an amount dependent on how badly you mashed X. (Note that the arrows will always land in front of you, so if you shoot off the arrows in one direction, but then turn around in another direction, the arrows will still land in front of Teba) Ends with bomb arrows. Pretty good if you want to stack the damage with a timed combo. Also automatically strikes onto big enemies if you’ve locked onto them. Good for one-on-ones but don’t rely on it solely. 

A really good thing about Teba’s strong combos is that ALL of them are mid-air, meaning you can instantly continue any combo with your aerial attacks. As usual, your aerial combo is just Y-Y-Y-X

= = = = = = = = = = 

Aerial Y: Fires arrows in front of you. You can press Y up to three times before you’re forced into the ground

= = = = = = = = = = 

Aerial X: Teba stomps onto the ground with his talons with the aide of a gust of wind. Deals AOE. 

= = = = = = = = = = 

Special Attack: Teba gives a thumbs up of encouragement before murdering everything in his line of sight. (Damages enemies in a direct line in front of him, plus AOE)

So that’s all of Teba’s attacks. Teba’s combos are really fast with that AX damage. A good stasis plus a barrage of YYX will guarentee you a weak point break, and even if you’re slow on it, just tacking on the aerial combo will definetly break it, or at least deal headshot damage cause again, everything is midair. 

Speaking of stasis, here be the Sheikah Rune set, which is ALSO arguably the best in the game.

Stasis: Upon activation, little crosshairs will appear on your screen. Use the controller or motion controls to highlight as many enemies as you wish, and when you press X to activate, all will be stasised. Not only is this overpowered considering you can stasis as many enemies as you wish, but you also can automatically head into a combo as there is no attack animation that you need to dash cancel out of. It is also the longest lasting stasis in the game. 

Cryonis: ITS A FREE FORCEFIELD! Unlike other characters, this doesn’t spawn a usable cryonis block for you to jump off of (because *stares at Teba’s pretty much pure mid-air move set* he doesn’t need it) but instead, spawns three ice blocks that encircle you. I know that it might seem like you have to position yourself so that you have to wait until the block goes directly in front of you for it to properly counter, but don’t worry. It’ll counter all cryonis weak attacks, (by EXPLODING >:D) even if it looks like an enemy is striking you in the gap between the blocks. 

This is the quickest cryonis spawn in the game, capable of countering enemies even the singular second before they hit you with their cryonis weak attack. But other than countering those ice attacks, doesn’t do anything. Still pretty great though! 

= = = = = = = = = = 

Bombs: Teba gets a fancy Sheikah Bow, launches into mid air, and you can aim with the controller/motion to launch a powerful bomb at an enemy/horde. It is guaranteed to expose an enemy weak point gauge, regardless of whether the enemy is using it’s specific bomb counter attack. Like the Y5X combo, this positions Teba at the highest point in the air, making him immune to damage. SO not only is this a good rune for great damage and countering, it’s also a quick dodge for  if you’re in a lick of trouble. You can move out of this rune into an aerial combo/riding the wind as well. 

= = = = = = = = = = 

Magnesis: eh. It’s there. It counters weapons. It does its job. If your enemies have metal weapons it makes a little magnet storm. I was too lazy to bother getting a group of enemies with metal weapons because I killed them all with one Y sweep and didn’t feel like restarting the level. It’s magnesis. What do ya want from me. Nothings gonna rivals Slate Zelda’s magnesis combo anyhow. 

And last but not least, Unique Action! Teba can charge up his bow with ZR to deal arrow attacks that get stronger the more you charge. There are four stages indicated by a little “ding!” and also the visuals showing wind forming around Teba. 

Charge one: Fires three arrows. Pretty basic, although it has a longer range than a normal attack

Charge two: Fires five arrows, again with a large distance and higher damage than a usual Y attack

= = = = = = = = = = 

Charge three: Fires a LOT of arrows covering 180 degrees in front of Teba. Very good for clearing out crowds if you couldn’t tell

= = = = = = = = = = 

Charge four: Fires 180 degrees of bomb arrows, as well as bomb arrows into the air AS WELL as bombarding the battle field with bomb arrows from above for the next 8-10 seconds or so. 

Charge four is really what you’re looking for, although three isn’t so bad either. But there really is no excuse to not use Charge four because Teba’s Unique Action can charge at any time. So long as you’re holding ZR, whether you’re in the middle of a combo, doing aerials, blocking, running away-- the attack will be charging. And you can hold it for as long as you wish. Charge four is very very very good so always be holding down that ZR and releasing it and recharging and re-releasing. You can’t be damaged by your own explosions and you really have nothing to lose.

SO what now? Well know that you fully understand what my birb dad is capable off, here’s what to stick to. 

If you got a giant horde of bokoblins or something, just us a Y-Y-AX and go ham. It’s like a giant broom that sweeps the battlefield, doing a lot of damage. 

Stasis is your friend and your best friend and your only friend. IF you’re fighting two bosses, it’s in your best interest to use stasis to halt both of them and more. Use stasis during weak point gauges to lengthen your time which, combined with Teba’s AX attack speed, with guarantee you a break pretty much every time you use it

Even if you don’t stasis during a weak point break, stasised enemies are a good enough time to use that YYYX combo as even though it’s more vulnerable and slow as I said, when you have the ability to stasis all of your enemies, it’s as good a time as enemies to deal that big damage.

Don’t use your Charge four on stasised enemies. I mean, you can, but it’s really better for when you’re in the middle fo battle, clearing the battle field, and dealing damage even while you’re dodging. 

Don’t lock onto enemies. It just makes it easier all around. Teba like to move, let the birb move. Don’t limit him to the bird cage of the focused camera movement, it’s just easier for everyone to move the camera manually. You can snap it on and off just to focus if you want. But personal experience says it’s easier just to learn how to move the camera you lazy bum

Bomb rune is very good. It’s a free weak point stun, and a free dodge. Use it

When breaking weak point, just use the YYX combo. Yes, the Y5X is good, but honestly they’ll both get the job done, so might as well do the quicker combo and save Y5X for crowd clearing. Besides, even if your YYX doesn’t immediately clear the guage (becuase you’re SLOW at button mashing for some reason) you can continue with an aerial combo

Ending a combo and letting the final animation fully finish will drop you to the ground. Don’t. Let the final animation finish and then immediately press B, or B cancel before the final attack starts. This is because you suck on the ground cause you’re a bird. Pressing B allows you to automatically go into glide state/”ride the wind”, giving you better time to glide away to safety, or lead into an aerial combo

Your unique action charge attack can be fired even in mid air. Note that weak point smashes, special attacks, and runes will cancel any charges you make

My personal favourite combo for levels are using stasis, YYX sweep for damage, then while stasis is still going, charging and releasing a Charge Four arrow, then finish by setting up a 5YX combo. That pretty much clears all hordes, then just stasis a boss’ gauge, hold ZR while I do a YYX plus aerial, boss is stunned, use the Charge Four arrow, fall back and do some normal X attack or Ys, then finish off with the weak point.

For his seals, I’d say invest in mid-air attack damage, strong attack damage, or attack speed.  

Teba’s final Falcon Bow seal bonuses are:

Midair attack damage (Star)

Damage to foes with status effects (Star) [this is pretty useless ngl]

So I’d say stick with mid-air attack just to get the seal bonus, but don’t put all four as it, as it’ll just waste a seal slot as there’s no bonus for 5 of the same seal. So I say 3 mid-air attack, and 1 strong attack damage. But then again it’s all up for preference! 3 strong attacks plus a single star seal isn’t gonna be a bad match either

Pretty much the most powerful thing about Teba is his ability to smash a weak point pretty much the instant an enemy is down. So use his stasis and combos often. 

Although obvious his general crowd control is pretty great too! He’s jut a really well rounded character that is pretty broken and honestly rivals Impa imo

The more arrows on screen, the more chance that fps may tank...just saying. BUT! It’s not really to a rate that’s that detrimental to the experience of playing as him. Just goes to show how overpower he can be if you push yourself enough
