Jacaerys had never questioned his mother's decisions.
He had always followed her guidance, always defended what she did, and accepted it as it was. She set the course, and he followed.
But this time it was different. This time he questioned and challenged her decisions. He poked at his food, playing with the salad, no desire to shove even a piece into his hungry body. He had never been able to eat when something was bothering him. Jacaerys looked to Lucerys who avoided his gaze. They had not spoken since their conversation, and Jacaerys honestly did not know what to say to his little brother either. He was afraid of another argument. This girl, who everyone seemed to think was Aemma, only brought unrest and imbalance to this family. Why didn't anyone see what he saw? Why did they make him out to be the bad guy?
All he wanted to do was protect his family.
His gaze continued to wander to Daemon, who was staring into the fire. He often seemed absent in thought. It was as if he was thinking about the war every second. He did not blame him. The war was coming, it had been started by the Green side. They were surrounded by enemies and potential traitors, which brought him back to Rose. She didn't belong here. He didn't know her, no one knew her, and even if she was Aemma, there was no guarantee that she was on their side.
Why should he trust a stranger just because she was his blood?
By that logic, he would have to trust Aegon, Aemond, and anyone else.
"I'm done eating, may I remove myself from the table, Mother?" asked Jacaerys, and Rhaenyra looked at him in surprise. She looked at his full plate, quirked her eyebrows, hesitated a moment before nodding. He felt her gaze on his back as he left the room.
He decided to go see his dragon. Jacaerys felt he was the only one he could be himself with. Vermax stared at him as if it knew exactly what Jacaerys was feeling. No wonder, they both had a special connection. He walked up to his dragon and placed his hand on its scaly skin. Vermax gave a soothing growl and he smiled. He would love to take his dragon and fly far away.
Vermax heard her before Jacaerys even knew she was on her way to meet him. He lifted his head toward the entrance and stared there until Jacaerys heard her as well. His mother was dressed in black and red, her hair tied behind her ears. She smiled gently, but it seemed forced. She approached him and stood beside him. Vermax calmed down and tilted his head slightly. It almost seemed as if he was bowing to his Queen.
"You haven't eaten anything," Rhaenyra began, watching him as he stared at Vermax. "Is something bothering you?"
He just snorted and out of the corner of his eye he saw his mother raise an eyebrow.
"Jace..."
He took a deep breath before turning to his mother. "Why is she still here?"
Rhaenyra knew immediately what he was talking about. "Jace, she-"
"She doesn't belong here. She's not Aemma."
His mother looked at him, exhausted. Understanding was in her gaze as she moved closer.
"Look, Jace, I know this is hard to accept, but I'm sure."
He shook his head. She had to be wrong.
"Just because she looks like Aemma doesn't mean she is Aemma. And even if she is Aemma, she grew up with our enemies. She doesn't know us, we don't know her. She doesn't even know anything about her true origins, if that's the case."
"But that doesn't make her any less my child than you or any of the other siblings."
"What makes you my mother is my love for you. Our time together. Our past. She does not know you. She knows nothing. I love you. She doesn't love you."
He saw his mother wince at his last sentence and he felt guilty. He was partially disgusted with himself, but he had to speak the truth before a major disaster happened.
He walked toward her, but she seemed dismissive, so he stopped. He clenched his hand into a fist. He hated that he was now the bad guy. He didn't want to hurt her. He didn't want to hurt his brother either. He just wanted Rose to go away.
"Give her a chance, Jace," his mother began. "I won't put her in any position where she can hurt us, I promise you that, but I do wish that you would try to get to know her."
He would love to grant her that wish. He would do anything for his mother, even that, but if he felt it would hurt them, would it be the right thing to do? Wouldn't it be negligent to grant her this wish when he knew that he could in fact be this girl's enemy?
He shook his head. "I can't." He looked to Vermax, who was watching him. No movement escaped his scrutinizing gaze.
Rhaenyra looked at him in disappointment. "Jace..." She did not speak further. She didn't have to.
"Forgive me, mother. I understand that you miss Aemma. I miss her, too. Every day. I loved her, but I love you too. I can't let this girl," he puffed, "take advantage of our vulnerability."
With those words, he turned around. He knew he was being rude and lacked respect, for his mother and for his queen but he didn't understand why no one saw what he saw. He would prove it to them. He would prove it to them all.
. . . . .
Rose could not get the last conversation with the Black Queen out of her head. It was her first conversation with her, by the way, but it had felt strangely familiar, as if she had known the princess for ages. She had a perfect view of the Dragonpit from her window. She watched the dragons and especially Marax had taken a fancy to her. He was a young dragon, a maid had told her, but he was far superior in size and strength to his brothers and sisters. Before she had ridden him, Marax had listened to no one. A stubborn beast, the servants had called him, a dragon no one wanted to get too close to. He had belonged to Princess Aemma before she disappeared. She was incredibly grateful to the dragon for wanting to save her. She longed to put her hand on his scaly skin. I wonder how he was doing. The arrow had pierced his wing, an injury he had only because of her.
"Aren't you hungry?," she suddenly heard a voice behind her, and Rose flinched, startled. Prince Lucerys stood leaning against the door, looking down at her full plate, which stood untouched on the table. She looked at him apologetically and shook her head. She hadn't heard him come in, so engrossed had she been in her thoughts.
"I feel a little nauseous," she reported, "I'll eat when I feel better."
Lucerys looked at her critically. "The food is already cold. I'll have new ones brought in."
"Please don't," she shook her head. "Don't trouble yourself on my account, my prince. I am grateful for your food. Even cold, it will taste good to me. I will eat it as soon as my stomach settles."
"It is no trouble," Lucerys objected. He came closer and raised a hand to press it against her forehead. Rose flinched in surprise. "Are you sick?" It was a strange sensation to feel his hand against her forehead. This closeness was foreign to her.
"You don't have a fever," Lucerys stated, looking relieved. "Maybe we need to take your mind off it."
Rose tilted her head slightly to the side. "What do you mean?"
Lucerys grinned. "Come with me, and I'll show you." The young prince grabbed her hand and was about to pull her along, but Rose stopped and shook her head. He looked at her in wonder.
"I guess that's not a good idea. I should stay here in my room."
"My mother gave permission. You're free to move around here."
Rose's eyes snapped open. "She allowed it?"
Lucerys smiled warmly. "She doesn't want you to feel like a prisoner here."
But I am. I am a prisoner, Rose thought, but she did not speak it. Lucerys seemed so happy at that moment, liberated, that she didn't want to take that feeling away from him. He reached for her hand again and this time she let him pull her along. It wasn't until they were just outside the Dragonpit that she realized what he was about to do.
"Marax misses you," he said, and Rose looked at him in surprise.
"I get to visit him?"
Lucerys seemed to want to say something, it seemed like he was fighting an inner battle, but then he nodded and smiled at her. He had the dragon summoned by the dragon guards and Rose watched with wide eyes as the young dragon stomped towards them proudly, almost regally. He let his gaze glide suspiciously over the area before spotting her and almost joyfully approaching her. The fear she had first felt with Vhagar and also with Marax had vanished. It was as if it had never existed. She took a step toward Marax and the dragon bent down slightly toward her. His hot air blew toward her and a tingling sensation arose on her skin. She put her hand on his nose, and he made a contented sound.
"I missed you, too," she confessed, and she had a feeling he understood. It was a strange feeling. They felt... connected. As if Marax belonged to her and she to him.
Then she remembered the dragon's injury and looked at his wing, which had a hole in it.
She looked to Lucerys. "How is he?" she asked, concerned.
"Better, he's eating a lot and his wing is healing well. The wing will have a tear but the dragon guards said it is comparable to a scar on a human body. It will be visible forever, but eventually it won't be felt."
She nodded in relief. "Very good. I couldn't forgive myself if he were hurt because of me."
"Do you feel a special bond with him?" asked Lucerys suddenly, stepping closer. Marax surveyed him, but he did not perceive him as a threat. Rose was surprised at his question.
"I had a dragon, too," Lucerys began. "His name was Arrax. My mother laid his egg in my cradle and from that point on he belonged to me as I belonged to him."
"What happened to him?"
Lucerys looked at her as if considering whether to tell her. "Aemond killed him."
She swallowed, feeling the stab in her heart that the mention of his name triggered in her. She turned her gaze to the ground.
"Or rather, his dragon, Vhagar. We met when we were both trying to win Lord Baratheon to our side. Aemond demanded my eye and when I flew away on Arrax, he chased me. I am sure he wanted to kill me. Arrax tried to protect me. It all happened very quickly and only the gods know how I survived it, but in the end my dragon was in several pieces and my uncle had grabbed me by the arm and pulled me onto his dragon. You know the rest of the story."
Rose looked at the young prince in displeasure. She had not known that Aemond had killed his dragon. He must have meant a lot to Lucerys. She understood the hatred of uncle and nephew, both had suffered losses and both had taken something from the other. But then she remembered a question that had been burning on her tongue for some time, and she felt that this time would be the right time to ask it.
"Did you know about Blood and Cheese?"
Lucerys eyes widened. He looked at her in wonder and he shook his head.
"Blood and Cheese?"
She searched his eyes for a lie, something that would prove to her how evil the Blacks were, but she saw only honesty and confusion in them. He knew nothing about the assassination.
"An attempt was made to assassinate the sons of Queen Helaena and King Aegon. Assassins named Blood and Cheese, said to have been sent from your ranks."
Lucerys eyes grew abnormally large and he shook his head. "We didn't send anyone."
"It happened the night you escaped. They say it was your mother."
"No," Lucerys almost shrieked, shaking his head even harder. He stumbled back a step. He turned pale. "Mother would never hurt innocent children. She would never have given the order."
"Then who did?"
"I don't know," Lucerys said harshly. He seemed dazed for a moment before he got himself back under control. He looked her seriously in the eyes. "I don't know, but what I do know is that our mother would never do such a thing."
Our mother... It was strange that he called her our mother, but probably at that moment he was thinking of his siblings, who seemed to adore Rhaenyra as much as he did. Rose was envious for a brief moment. She wished she had had that connection to her mother as well. Instead, she had had a cold block of ice that, other than shelter and food on the table, hadn't given her much. And yet Rose had loved her.
"Forgive me," Rose interjected apologetically. She walked up to Lucerys and took his hand in hers. His hand was warm. Hers cold. "I meant no offense to you or your mother, my prince."
He eyed her and for a brief moment she was afraid he would snatch his hand from her, but then he nodded and the warmth returned to his eyes.
"I don't want you to think badly of her," he confessed, and Rose looked at him in wonder. Why did he care how she thought of his mother,? She was a nobody in all of her presence. She wondered what she was doing here anyway. She was worthless. If they tried to blackmail Aemond with her, they would soon find out that their efforts were useless.
She smiled nonetheless. "I don't think badly of your mother. She seems like a kind-hearted woman."
Lucerys seemed pleased by her words. "She is."
. . . . .
"She's pregnant," Rhaena told her sister, and he heard Baela make a surprised sound.
Jacaerys had wanted to visit his fiancée, to talk to her about the situation, asking for her opinion, asking for her help, before he heard Rhaena's words.
He had been standing outside the door, ready to be advised by his fiancée, his future queen, before Rhaena's words held him back. He pressed himself against the wall, in shades of darkness, safe from their gaze. He was ashamed of himself for eavesdropping, but he had a nasty feeling that he knew exactly who they were talking about.
"Rhaenyra?" He heard Baela ask.
"Aemond's mistress."
"Aemma?"
"Stop calling her that," Rhaena demanded. She suddenly sounded dismissive. "Maybe Jacaerys is right. Maybe we're all wrong."
Jacaerys inhaled contentedly through her nose. Finally, someone who understood his position. Maybe he wasn't fighting a losing battle after all.
"Rhaena, you know what Father said. You-"
"I don't care," Rhaena interrupted her sister. Normally Baela was the more short-tempered of the two of them, and Rhaena the one who kept her cool. A strange situation to suddenly see the roles reversed. "She is expecting a child from Aemond. Our enemy. She is carrying a child by him in her womb."
"How do you know?" Baela sounded suspicious.
"I heard the Grand Maester talking to Rhaenyra about it. They haven't seen me. I don't think even Father knows."
Jacaerys clenched his hands into fists. His mother was hiding Rose's pregnancy? Even from Daemon? Was she out of her mind? Why did she feel so much sympathy for a girl she didn't know? Was she so addicted to her desire to see Aemma again that she was willing to risk everything for it? He did not understand his mother's naiveté. Surely she had to know how dangerous it was. If it was indeed Aemond's bastard, then Rose would choose him. If she had ever intended otherwise.
"I'm sure she has a good reason, Rhaena."
"I don't care, I want this girl gone," Rhaena hissed. "Because of Aemond, we almost lost Lucerys. She can't be Aemma. She knows nothing about our cousin. The only ones who are really convinced are Rhaenyra and Lucerys, and that's only because they both blame themselves for her disappearance. If Aemond learns that she carries his bastard under her heart, he will stop at nothing to get her back."
Rhaena had summed up what Jacaerys was thinking and at that moment he knew what to do. His cousin had provided him with the answer. He would make sure that everything would be back in balance. Rose would not destroy his family. He would not let it happen. He couldn't let it happen. Jacaerys tried to slip away as quietly as possible. Once in his chambers, he locked his door behind him to make sure no one would barge in unexpectedly. Then he sat down at his table, took out his feather, parchment and ink, and closed his eyes for a moment. He wondered if he was making the right decision, if perhaps he was acting too much out of his emotions, but then he thought about the consequences that his inaction could bring.
He saw his dead siblings in his mind's eye. Lucerys, dead, lying in the dead arms of his mother, who had laid her head on him. Around them, the corpses of the people Jacaerys loved more than himself.
He would protect them all. He opened his eyes, determined, and dipped the feather in the ink.
Then he began to write.
K I N G S   L A N D I N G
Helaena Targaryen was no longer the woman she once was. She had never been open and full of life, but now she seemed like a shadow of her former self. She sat there at the window, staring at the moon and humming softly to herself, while Aemond watched her. He had longed for his sister, missed her, and longed for her warmth, but she had hardly noticed him since his arrival in her chambers. It was almost as if he did not exist. She even refused to visit Aegon, which did not even surprise him much. Their marriage was as forced as love for each other. The two of them had never been connected. But they both, on the other hand, did. He always felt the need to protect her, whether from others or from himself, he was always ready to throw himself in front of her and defend her with his life. But since the assassination, that night, she was a different person. He would never forgive Rhaenyra for this act, he would kill her for trying to take his family's life, but he admitted that he suspected someone else. He had heard about the cruel character of his uncle. Second Maegor, Otto always called him. But it wouldn't change anything if it was Daemon or Rhaenyra. Both would die at his hands.
Aemond watched his sister. His poor sister. He missed her. He had hoped that at least Helaena would remain with him after he lost Rose, but not even that, did the gods grant him. Was he such a bad person that they didn't even begrudge him a little happiness and joy?
"Dragonseed in Dragonseed," Helaena suddenly sang, and Aemond's eyebrows drew together in irritation. He wondered if he had heard her correctly, so sudden had been her words. "Dragonseed in Dragonseed," she repeated again. She didn't speak to him, it was as if she were singing herself a lullaby, three words she repeated over and over. He straightened up, stared at his sister, and was about to ask her the meaning of her words before there was a knock at the door and Ser Criston Cole entered. He bowed and came briskly toward Aemond.
"Here, your Grace," he said humbly, holding out a letter to him. Aemond raised an eyebrow. The letter had no seal.
"What is this?"
"The letter is addressed to you. It was on the iron throne, I found it when I was looking for you. Look at the back."
Aemond turned the letter over and suddenly everything stiffened. A name appeared that he had not expected. It was only the first letters but he knew immediately who had written this letter to him. He tensed every muscle in his body, every fiber began to burn and without letting another moment pass, he stood up, went to the window and tore open the letter. He read quickly, starting over and over again. His hands began to tremble and his breathing quickened. Suddenly his mouth was dry and his eye was burning. Everything in his body felt strange. He stared at the written lines, handwriting he hadn't seen in years, but which he would recognize among hundreds. He stumbled backwards slightly, crushing the letter in his hand before regaining his composure and walking out of his sister's chambers without a word.
The look of Helaena burned like fire in his neck.

Tumblr media
Since I've been on Tumblr for about a month now, I've decided it was time to compile a list — for anyone who's curious — of things you'll find in my writing, and things I look for in others' writing. And here it is, subject to change, of course.
My things:
Types of whump:
I'll give just about anything a try once, but I largely gravitate toward:
Prison/captivity whump
Slavery
Pet whump (BBU not so much, though)
Historical whump, with or without fantasy elements
Modern/contemporary whump
Any corollaries of the above.
Alongside the whump:
All the hurt followed by all the comfort. A short whump story doesn’t necessarily have to contain comfort for me to read it, but if I’m going to get invested in something longer, it usually does.
NSFW, including sexy/spicy scenes, sexual references, and sexually suggestive dialogue (always earned and plot- and character-appropriate, never porn without plot).
Romance. The more forbidden and/or seemingly impossible the better. I'll read any type of pairing, but I write M/F almost exclusively. Romance-related tropes I like include enemies to lovers, strangers to lovers, medium and slow burn, mutual pining, forced proximity, (un)resolved sexual tension, flirtatious banter, etc. etc.
Mystery/thriller elements. Probably my favorite genre other than romance. In fact, I would say if I were to describe my ideal fictional story, it would have whump, romance, and mystery in almost equal measure.
Implements and techniques:
Shackles and restraints of pretty much every type, size, and description. This includes both old-timey, rusty shackles/manacles or newfangled law enforcement-style handcuffs/chains, etc.
Collars and leashes, although I usually don't write about them because I just find them too complicated to figure out (not literally, but you know what I mean). I tend to like collars as accessories/symbols of subjugation rather than performing a function, such as shocking the whumpee or controlling their behavior somehow.
In general, whumpees forced to wear accessories, clothing, or other outward symbols of their subjugation/servitude/inferiority.
Chains of every size and kind, attaching whumpees to walls, ceilings, floors, each other, etc.
Physical and emotional torture of all kinds; really, I'm not particular, but it's preferably done while fucking with the whumpee psychologically and preying upon their deepest fears, traumas, and insecurities.
Hands and especially injuries to the hands. Hands are my favorite body parts, so it totally makes sense that I enjoy seeing them maimed and disfigured, right?
Cages and cells, preferably with actual bars and solid steel everything, the harder, more brutal, utilitarian, and uncomfortable the better.
Some types of involuntary body modification.
Tropes and motifs:
Humiliation and degradation of most kinds, whether it's physical, verbal, or emotional (but see the exception below under squicks).
Dehumanization, and even better, REhumanization. Breaking down is good, but building back up is better. Someone who has been thoroughly and consistently dehumanized suddenly or gradually coming to be viewed as a person by others (or by themselves)
Whumpees who compliantly allow themselves to be placed in cuffs or shackles, either because they're just too tired and/or broken or if it's part of a grand master plan to fight back later.
Whumpee being forced to watch another whumpee being tortured.
Whumpee being forced to do menial/humiliating chores and/or hard physical labor (bonus if they're in chains at the same time). This is such an underused trope and I don't understand why because it's a fantastic one! If anyone were to write a story heavily featuring this and tag me in it I would love you forever.
Interesting power dynamics, even ones that shift back and forth within the course of a scene.
Struggles and differences related to social class, money, and wealth.
Character traits:
Male and female whumpees. I'll read and write both, but the way I handle them is sometimes different.
Defiant whumpees. Whumpees can break down as far as it's possible to break, but if there isn't that spark of life or defiance left in there (or even a chance of it coming back) I won’t be particularly interested.
Male and female whumpers.
Creepy/intimate whumpers, whumpers who are just plain assholes, or whumpers who are sympathetic/morally gray/have interesting motivations/backstories. I'm pretty open when it comes to whumpers, actually.
Caretakers who are or become romantic partners.
Carewhumpers and bad caretakers, to a certain extent. This is a new thing for me that I'm exploring and I'm still puzzling out how I feel and how I handle it. Stay tuned.
Other random things:
Humor, wit, and banter, even in extremely dark situations.
Nerdy, oblique references to things I'm passionate about, especially music, theatre, and literature.
Not (really) my things:
These are things I'll generally shy away from, but aren't enough to make me stop reading something I otherwise like:
Hard BDSM. I have and do feature some light bondage and d/s in some of my work, but it's rarely the focus.
Excessive focus on rape/noncon and/or recovery from it. I'll definitely read about rape/noncon as long as it's not portrayed as romantic or positive in any way, but I find myself generally reluctant to portray onscreen noncon, especially of female characters. Noncon in backstories, though, absolutely.
Gags, blindfolds, hoods, and anything that covers most of the face. I do have a thing for muzzles, however, especially when you can see the whumpee's entire face through it. (My characters are pretty, I want to see them!)
Whumpees gagged and bound head to toe with rope, and other heavy bondage-type stuff.
The more ridiculous aspects of the BBU (drugging, memory erasure, sex slaves called "romantics," boys literally shipped in boxes, etc.).
Excessive gore/body horror, especially evisceration and similar.
Vampires/werewolves/angels/fairies/monsters/nonhumans, including superheroes/villains (I'll never say never, but in general, I prefer good old humans)
Pure sexual slavery, when that's the slave's one and only function. (See above).
Totally passive whumpees who are just swept along by the narrative and/or are completely dependent on others for help/rescue.
Conditioned whumpees who never become unconditioned, or slaves portrayed as happy or content that way (again, see above).
Whumpees who stutter, speak robotically and/or in the third person, or behave as if they have the mental age of a preschooler.
Unhappy endings to longer works, although I'm fine with short pieces with ambiguous/unresolved endings or no endings.
Squicks:
Honestly, not many.
Noncon, abuse, and/or toxicity portrayed as romantic. (In general, this stuff is fine). It's the big one because it shows up in a LOT of slavefic, which is my preferred genre of whump. I think many people have the idea that all slavefic glorifies and/or romanticizes abusive master/slave relationships, and that's simply not the case. And harassment and censorship aren't cool, especially when you haven't read the story in question. Thanks for coming to my TED Talk.
A/B/O dynamics and/or mpreg.
Forced cross-dressing, feminization, or any similar humiliation tactic related to gender.
Humiliation tactics involving exchange of bodily fluids (see above). (Not including NSFW).
Anything foot-related. As much as I love hands and doing things to hands, feet are the opposite. (But ankles are okay, otherwise, we couldn't have shackles!)
Some of the more out-there sexual kinks, which I'll spare you from having to see described here. You can probably guess what they are.
Onscreen harm to very young children and/or animals (threatened harm or as backstory is ok)
If something doesn't appear on this list anywhere (or even if it does), you can probably assume I'm at least open to it!
And of course, obligatory promo for my current WIP, Good Slaves Never Break the Rules, where — if you happen to share any of my things — you can find most if not all of them.

Hi, you can call me Storm! I'm 30 and the mom of a loud and demanding cat ❤️
I’m a multiple paragraphs/novella style writer. I love to write detailed descriptions and delve into a character’s head/emotions as well as surroundings. I compare it to writing a novel together. Not every reply has to be novella length, however. If there are action or dialogue heavy scenes, I tend to do a shorter back and forth to keep the momentum going.
I only do MxF (with me writing the female role). I don’t double, but I’m more than happy to write side characters of either gender to help move the story along. I only want female authors writing male characters as I’ve had bad experiences with cis male authors. (Trans men and nonbinary pals are exceptions).
I'm really hoping to find a friendship, someone who can add to our story, and most importantly, someone who wants a long-term connection. It's difficult for me to write with someone if I don't feel that genuine bond. It's also important to me to have a high level of activity, with at least one reply a day.
If you suddenly stop replying ic and ooc, I'll drop the story after 2 attempts of gauging interest spaced a week apart. But feel free to message me if you want to pick the story back up again, even months later.
Searching For:
20+ partners only
An excellent grasp of grammar, punctuation, spelling, and capitalization. (Literate to advanced writers only, please. I'm not looking for newbies)
Plot before smut. While mature themes will be in my writing, there needs to be chemistry between our characters. I normally do a 60/40 plot to smut ratio and my characters tend to be subs/switches depending on the circumstances
An older male character (early forties to mid-late fifties). I love the gruff and tough men with dark pasts who secretly have a soft heart. I also love grumpy, hypermasculine men being intimidated by sweet but fiery women. My characters are mid-late twenties to early-mid thirties so the age gap is legal.
Enthusiasm to chat about our character and ship, how to crush them and then gushing over fluffy moments. I love crying over characters and what the heck they’re doing. I want my heart ripped from my chest from angst, then feeling like it’s going to burst from overwhelming cuteness. I want us to love these characters and the world we create. I want to make pinterest boards, spotify playlists, graphics, and toss headcanons back and forth until late at night.
Have an idea for a scene? Found a picture that inspired you? Send it to me! Be invested when it comes to plotting/worldbuilding. There’s nothing worse than receiving one sentence in reply to two paragraphs of ideas, or having a doormat partner who says “sure” to whatever I ask. Building ideas one on top of the other, watching them snowball into amazing plot threads brings me joy. But having to pull plot ideas like I’m pulling teeth makes me think you’re not interested, and I will lose interest in return.
Interests:
Modern fantasy, monsters, sci-fi, omegaverse, southern gothic/midwest gothic (i’m a sucker for that southern/texas drawl), horror, height/size difference, cheating/affair, enemies to lovers, slow burn romance, spooky small towns, post apocalyptic/dystopia, crime/mysteries, emotionally charged/dark and gritty, bodyguard x assignment, forced proximity, opposites attract, fated mates, anti heroes/morally gray characters, traumatic pasts, grumpy x sunshine, one bed, men who simp over their women, touch her / him and die, and more.
I have lots of original plot ideas in mind as well!

Trope rating game
i'm putting this as its own post instead of reblogging to avoid having a super duper long post on my blog. thank u @rinn-e for tagging me!
rules: How much do these tropes affect your decision to click on a fic? -10 -> very dissuaded
0 - don’t care either way
+10 -> very enticed
nope -> if it’s a hard no and you’d never click on a fic with that tag or or you even have the tag blocked or you’d insta click out of the fic if it wasn’t tagged.  Bonus points for explaining the rating and whether it’s conditional.
Age gap: +10
YEAH YEAH YEAH. pretty much all my recent major ships have had age gap (ardynoct, askefinn, sladin, etc). i've figured out recently that i find it kind of boring when the two characters are on the same level, and age gap is an easy way to effect that power imbalance.
Codependency: +10
yep yes and always. love when two people are each other's world. love when they would do anything for each other and that's a bad thing. love when they destroy themselves for each other.
Obsession/Possessiveness, jealousy: +7
see above lol. this one gets a lower score because jealousy can get a little annoying. i actually like it when characters AREN'T jealous... like, A trying to make B jealous and B doesn't care, because they know A will come crawling back to them sooner or later.... nice... if the jealousy is warranted (like an above situation w flirting/cheating/etc) then that crosses the line into love triangle which i'm not big on, and if it isn't warranted it gets annoying. i like obsession and possessiveness a lot but jealousy doesn't necessarily have to be part of that.
Opposites (grumpy/sunshine etc): 0
eh, it's okay. i prefer it when two characters in a ship are shockingly similar, even if they have completely different values/motives/goals, whatever. opposites can be cute but it's not really my thing.
Enemies to lovers, Enemies with benefits: +9
i started writing a paragraph about how i prefer enemies to remain fucked up and awful even if they get into a relationship, but then i remembered all the crying i've done imagining soft sweet Wales endgame askefinn and i was like yeah, let's not lie today LOL. both are good.
Friends with benefits: -5
where's the ROMANCE? where's the DRAMA? where's the OBSESSION? it's not like i hate it but i typically want a more substantial emotional attraction y'know. also, a lot of the fic i've read recently does... not really involve the characters in question being friendly lmaooo.
Sex to feelings: 0
this is a difficult one to rate because it can be very very different depending on the existing dynamic. are we talking about two strangers who keep hooking up and develop feelings? two enemies who feel nothing but hate for each other, but their relationship starts to change once they have sex? i guess this trope is more the former, which isn't something i would actively look for but isn't something i dislike either, so it gets an even 0.
Fake dating/relationship: +6
god i used to read this trope so so often. i'm not huge on established relationship because i want to see the relationship grow (rereading this i realize it makes me look like a tool because i've written a bunch of established relationship recently but like... I KNOW how they got there ok. my city now), but i also love cutesy romantic shit, so fake dating is right up my alley (along with arranged marriage and soulmates for the same reason). bonus if the faking is very uncomfortable for one or both characters. put those blorbos in a psychologically stressful situation where they have to pretend to be happy 👌
Friends to lovers: +3
yeah it's fine. see above, i like my ships terrible and fucky. this trope doesn't usually facilitate that. if it's awful friends to awful lovers i'm all over it.
Found Family: -9
not gonna lie, i wasn't big on found family in the first place and kingdom hearts fandom utterly destroyed whatever little interest i had in it. while i like platonic relationships in original fiction, for fic i rarely if ever read gen fic. it's shipping or bust for me. if they aren't doing the nasty (physically or emotionally) i'm not interested.
Hurt/Comfort: +8
ohhhhh yeaaaahhhhh babyyyyyyyy i'm all about that whump. love it when a blorbo is harmed and another blorbo has to help them. i can go for hurt/no comfort too sometimes but only if i'm in the mood for it.
Love Triangle: -6
yeaaaah no. this is another area where i like them in original fiction but am not at all into it in fic. i like my ships with two characters (who preferably have no interest in anyone else).
Poly, open relationships: -5
i do have some multi character ships (pyra/mythra/rex/nia is the one that immediately comes to mind, though i don't typically read xenoblade fic) but i'm not usually a fan, for the same reason i mentioned for love triangles. a lot of times i'm only here for one or two characters in the relationship so anyone extra feels unnecessary and distracting.
Mistaken/hidden identity: +5
i probably would've given this a lower score if i wasn't in my sladin revival era. superhero secret identities are perfect for conflict.
Monsterfucking: +8
gave this an 8 because when it leans too far into furry/bestiality territory that's when i'm out. generally love monsters of all kinds though, and all the hentai-esque tropes that come with it.
Pregnancy: -8
hate kid fics. god do i hate kid fics. this only gets a -8 and not -10 because unwanted pregnancy fics that do not end with a kid being born can be pretty angsty, which is nice.
Second Chance: +6
second chance for... what? as in a redemption arc? sure i'm down for that. also down for a character getting a second chance even though they have not earned it, because another character refuses to give up on them/let go. second chance time travel where a character gets to go back and redo something is also top tier.
Slowburn: +1
this one was very hard to rate. i've read some slowburns that i absolutely loved. i'm currently writing a slowburn where it's 20k in and the mfers haven't even held hands. but i also get bored easily and if it's TOO slow it begins to feel like the fic is dragging its feet. to keep me interested i usually like if there's another element going on, like fake dating, enemies to lovers, heavy whump, etc.
Soulmates: +9
YES. YES YES YES. LOVE THAT. again, it's a way to have both relationship development AND immediate sex/romance. especially good when the soulmates are enemies or otherwise not suited to each other in any way whatsoever and this is surely the work of a god with a very shitty sense of humor. i have written and read many soulmates fics and i intend on writing and reading many more.
Tagging all of my lovely mutuals!! qwq some of u have already been tagged so i will save u the trouble of tagging u twice!

🕊️🥭hello! i (19 f, literate, multi paragraph, 3rd person) am looking for an 18+ rp partner! i’m looking for f/f (trans ocs welcome!) though i’m willing to do m/m or m/f (i prefer m/f where the female is the more dominant personality in the relationship). i much prefer oc x oc, though i very occasionally will do canon x canon and will never do oc x canon.
time periods i’d like to set the rps in would be the 1800s (either european nobility or american wild west), the 40s, 80s, 2000s, or modern day! some tropes/dynamics i’d enjoy would be: enemies/lovers, prissy/carefree, serious/sly, childhood friends reunited, celeb/celeb or celeb/employee, forbidden romance, outcast/prep, and more!
here’s a list of fandoms i enjoy and would like to rp in, though i’m currently looking more for fandomless (including canon ships im open to, bold is ones i would like to play!):
• the last of us
• star wars
• red dead redemption
• game of thrones/house of the dragon
• stranger things (steve/eddie, steve/billy, steve/eddie/billy)
• harry potter (sirius/remus, sirius/james)
• marvel (peter parker/matt murdock)
• the witcher
• percy jackson
*** while i’m aware all of the canon ships i enjoy are m/m, i would love to do aus- specifically a genderbend one!***
i am 100% a fan of nsfw (give me all the filth lol) and am open to softer dead dove topics (age gaps, power dynamics, toxicity). while most of my characters tend to lean towards sub, i’m totally open to playing a switch if that’s a hard line. limits/wants will be discussed in dms!
i will only rp on discord and would prefer to make a specific server for any hypothetical ships so it’s easier to keep oc and ooc seperate. i would love to become friends ooc as well- chat about our days, interests, etc. i also am a bit obsessed with pinterest and would probably end up making a board/adding a section to my multi-character board for any ocs in ships! i would love to double in the sense of having multiple ships, whether in the same universe or not, but if they’re in the same universe i’d prefer the different pairings to be separate most of the time so it’s easier for me to keep track of things, lol.
i request you use realistic fcs (i prefer to use models myself, but am ok with actors) and am not open to strictly art/game/etc fcs, though art mixed with a realistic fc is ok! i will do my best to reply every couple days, though if i get into it there’s a possibility i’ll reply multiple times a day. i have severe adhd and my brain subscribes to “out of sight, out of mind” so i do forget to reply sometimes & am okay with soft prodding every 3/4 days in the dms to remind me! on that vein, i like to do rp-like headcanons in the form of short paragraphs to keep my muse up, which will also help remind of any replies that need to be sent. if you’re still here and interested, please like this post and i’ll dm you! <3

I'm not looking for age play. It's a romance between two consenting adults who each act exactly their age, and they just happen to be different ages.

Fandoms (OCs ONLY)
Star Wars, Stranger Things, Mercy Thompson Series, True Blood, The Last of Us, Hunger Games, Fallout (TV Show)

I only want female authors writing male characters as I’m uncomfortable with male authors. (Nonbinary pals are an exception).
