How Theodore Nott looks at you when
Part two, based on this request | 632 words | Masterlist
Tumblr media Tumblr media
…you’re academic rivals and Theo is about to leave the country for a student exchange program.
Theo: I can’t believe you came. You: Don’t flatter yourself, Nott. I’m just here to watch you leave and tell you something. Theo: Finally ready to confess your undying love for me? You: I’m actually here to — Theo: I have to catch my flight. It’s now or never because I like you too, okay? Just thought you should know that before I disappear for a year. You: Ah actually, I was going to say that I also applied for the program and got in last minute. So surprise! I’m coming with you! Theo: Oh so — You: You just embarrassed yourself, yes. Theo: Well — You: No, it’s too late! No take backs! Theo: You can’t — You: Fine. I like you too, okay?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
…you’re spending a lazy Sunday afternoon together (new relationship, shy!reader).
You: so I think that we should… *Theo looks at you and your mind goes blank.* Theo: yes, amore? You: I…look away! Then I’ll remember what I was saying. Theo: Come on principessa, how are we going to be in a relationship if I can’t even look at you? You: It’s your fault. Why are you so gorgeous? Theo: *laughs* This better? *he makes an ugly face* You: *slaps Theo* Stop, you still look so pretty. Ugh it’s not fair! Theo: Let’s practice then. Just keep looking at me until your thoughts return. We’ll stay here as long as it takes.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
…you’re enemies and he asked you to dance at the Yule Ball after he noticed your date ditched you.
You: Are you sick? Should I take you to the hospital wing? Theo: Ha, funny. Come on, it will be fun! You: What’s in it for you? Theo: The chance to dance with a beautiful girl. You: Are you trying to be nice? I think I’m the one feeling sick. Theo: Don’t get used to it. Cara mia, it’s a magical night, let’s forget we’re enemies for a few hours. You: I think I can manage that, but only for a few hours. Any longer and people might think we like each other. Theo: Wouldn’t want to ruin our reputation.
Of course everyone else already knew you like each other except for you two dummies.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
…you’re having dinner with your best friend.
You: They ran out of copies at the bookstore *sigh* Theo: Oh bella, what would you do without me? You: What did you do? Theo: *hands you a paper bag* I reserved the book and got it for you. You: Theo! This is amazing! I could kiss you right now! Theo: Then do it. You: … Theo: Don’t let anyone stop you from getting what you want. Not even yourself. You: We’re talking about the book, right?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
…you’re watching him perform with his band (rockband!AU).
You watched the boy singing on stage. To you he was the stranger you couldn't stop thinking about. You were walking on a crowded street, rushing home just like everyone else when you bumped into him.
The impact sent you falling to the floor if it weren’t for his quick reflexes. You beamed and thanked him. He was gorgeous with his intense gaze that held stories you could read for hours. His hair so wonderfully curly, you wanted to run your hands through them.
But you weren’t going to touch a stranger’s hair and be a creep. So hesitantly, you wished him a good day and walked on.
You were so glad you found him again, eating here at this restaurant with your friends. He was singing a new song:
A bustling sidewalk, a busy street A chance encounter in summer heat We collided, fate’s work of art I took your hand, you stole my heart
What are the odds he saved other strangers from falling on crowded sidewalks?
He smiled when he saw you and his eyes said everything you needed to know.

Shy?
Masterlist
Criminal Minds Masterlist Emily Prentiss Masterlist
Summary: Professor!Emily x fem!student reader, what happens when profesor prentiss and the reader finally give into their feelings?
Word count: 1.5k
TW: Making out, I think that’s it?
Pairing: Emily Prentiss x female reader
A/N: Should I make this a series? Idk it might be fun!
Studying behavioural profiling is, well, different. It’s like science, criminology and psychology and smooshed into one subject. But the best thing about it, you ask? The teacher. Emily Prentiss is the most divine woman to ever step foot on this earth and no one can tell me otherwise. The way she strides along the front of the lecture all, her raven hair that falls in front of her face when she bends down to click something on her laptop, her eyes that always seem to find mine in a room full of students, her veiny hands that brush over mine when giving back a test. Ugh god, I swear I’m falling in love with this woman.
It’s 7:45 am on a Wednesday and I’m walking across campus so I can get to lesson a little early to touch up my notes from my other class with Agent Morgan and to go over my- okay I’m bullshtting I just want to see Emily. And to be honest, I think I’m one of her more favourite students so I think she doesn’t mind me being early.
I push open the door to the lecture hall and start walking down the steps, laptop bag slung over my shoulder that contained notebooks, pens, pencils etc, all the essentials. In my hand I held a travel coffee mug with my favourite hot chocolate in it because I wasn’t too partial to coffee. As I reach the front row I notice that Professor Prentiss has been following me with her eyes and watching the sway of my hips as I walked in. ”Morning Professor.” I try to say as if her eyes all over me weren’t causing a blush to creep up my neck. I took a quick check behind me finding out I was the only one in the room.
“Hi, y/n. How are you today?” She asked her eyes staring into mine, genuinely curious.
”Good thank you, tired but good, what about you?” I smile as she chuckles lightly at my comment.
“Just about the same as you darling.” She replies with a smirk on her face seeing my face instantly bloom with red at the pet name. I shuffle my bag slightly before she says “I was out on a case for the last two or so days and I, only just, made it back in time to teach you guys. Lucky me hey? The only reason I’m even slightly okay with having to wake up at the ass crack of dawn is because of students like you. You actually listen and care, god knows that kind of work ethic is rare these days.” Emily looks exhausted and about ready to jump into bed at any second but the words that she said seem to cloud my head so I don’t pay much attention to her disheveled state.
Students like me? What does that even mean? Well, she explained what it meant but I still wasn’t convinced. Nonetheless I responded “Yeah, it really is. All the people in this class want to be profilers or something along the lines of such and yet none of them take their education seriously. I want to throw something at them every time they talk over you. I might actually do it one day, it's so annoying!” She smiles fondly at my words making a cage of butterflies escape into my stomach and I smile back.
“Now, I can’t have you throwing things at people, can I now sweetheart? That’ll get you kicked off the course. And I don’t think you want that, I certainly don’t want that, and besides don’t worry about the others. You’re doing amazing ah, that reminds me can you stay behind at the end? I just want to speak to you about your grade on our most recent exam. It’s nothing bad, I promise. You’ve done exceptionally well, in fact so well that I want to talk to you about further opportunities you have open to you.” She places her hand on my shoulder as we now stand face to face, she got up halfway through talking to lean on the front of her desk. I smile and subconsciously lean into her touch. The remains of the blush from the pet names yet again lingers but I say a small “Thank you Professor.”
At that moment the door to the lecture hall swings open revealing another student in their own little world unaware of the building tension in the room. I give her one last smile and go make my way to a seat in the front row. I get out my laptop and notebook and start writing the dates and titles. I could feel eyes on me the whole time, I look up and lock eyes with Emily, finding her already looking at me. She sent me a wink and glanced back down at whatever she was working on. A crimson flush invaded my face and I returned my eyes to my page.
After the lesson I packed up slower than normal so that I’d be able to stay behind a little longer than she probably ment. I put my laptop in my bag and zip it up and grab my now empty hot chocolate. I walk up to Profesor Prentiss’ desk and find she’s already looking at me, again.
“You know, you should stop staring at me so much. People might get the wrong idea.” I say, suddenly feeling confident, a teasing smirk on my lips.
“What if I want them to get the wrong idea? What if I want them to think you’re mine?” I quickly shut up at that remark, all my confidence suddenly disappeared and I turned into putty. Heat rose to my cheeks and my head dipped to avoid her piercing gaze, it wasn’t mean, more admiration. But, any look from Emily Prentiss is intense. “Cat got your tongue honey?” She had a shit eating grin on her face as she saw me nod slowly.
“Anyway, your grade! Okay you scared the highest in the class, and you got full marks. This isn’t anything new for you I'm sure, you’re a bright young woman. But, scoring this high in a test this hard, it opens doors for you. So, I’m here to offer you a chance to shadow me and the team for a week to see how we handle cases and what the job entails really. I also wanted to let you know that if you have any interest in joining the team I would accept you in a heartbeat. You’re a brilliant profiler.” Yet again for what feels like the millionth time today, heat rises to my cheeks. She stalks the way round her desk and stands in front of it.
“That sounds amazing, oh my god, really?” A smile broke out on my face immediately. She looked pleased at my reaction and took a step closer.
“Yeah of course really, why would I joke?” She laughed softly. I muttered a small ‘true’ and kept shamelessly checking her out as she still came closer to me and lowered her lips down to my ear and whispered, “Do I make you nervous darling? Is that why you get all shy whenever I’m around?” I nodded again while looking down, her hand found my chin and tilted it up. “Look at me when I’m talking to you.” I felt a strange tingling in my lower stomach as she said that.
I looked her in the eye and she bought me closer. “Is this okay?” she muttered, her breath fanning across my face due to the proximity.
“Yes.” I breathed out. That was all the confirmation she needed to softly press her lips to mine. She held me like I might break at any minute, so tentative and caring it made my heart flutter. My hands found their way around my waist and I pulled her closer. She moved us around so now I was the one against the desk as she deepened the kiss, her tongue moving into my mouth. I instantly let her take control of the kiss and press her hips against mine. A small whine left my lips and I lent into her arms which were on my hips.
She pulled away and looked into my eyes before whispering, just to me even though there was no one else there, “I don’t want this to just be a fling, just to make that clear.” I smiled wide and pecked her lips once more.
“Neither do I.” She pulled me in again and we kissed with smiles on both of our faces. We knew we would have to be a secret for a while obviously but it didn’t stop me from fantasising about what was to come.

Told You So
part 6 of rivals
Jo gets her first start of the Victory Tour in her home state, and the team finally gets to meet her family.

“Guess what I’ve got.”
I grinned as Hope tilted her head to the side. I tapped at my chest.
“Hope you brought all the good trash talk today, Solo. You’re not gonna stop anything I throw at you.”
“Yeah, whatever you say, Pip.”
I pouted at the nickname. I was sure that I would have grown out of it by now, but Hope had been adamant about making sure it stuck around.
“Jo!” I whirled around to look at Becky who did not look happy with me. “Stop taunting the goalies. Get to work!”
“But that’s no fun,” I whined, although I was already starting to move to the opposite side of the field to get ready with the rest of the forwards. “You don’t have to be so boring all the time.”
“If you don’t get your butt over there, I can really be boring for you,” Becky assured, “I’ll make sure you do all of your school work on our off day.”
I shook my head at that as I started to jog across the field.
“Always ruining my fun,” I grumbled knowing that the mic would pick it up. “I’m sixteen. I think I’m allowed a little fun, right?”
My eyes found the camera that was following me as I gave it a little shrug.
Once I reached the other forwards, Christen was quick to join my side. We didn’t initially say anything to each other as we warmed up. That was until Christen tried to nutmeg me, but I moved my heel just enough to keep the ball in front of me.
“You’ve been spending too much time with Tobin,” I said as I pointed at her.
Christen shook her head at that.
“You’re in a really good mood. Your exams go well?”
“I was exempt. All A’s.”
“That’s good. Get you into Stanford with those grades.”
“I know some others who would object to that.”
Christen rolled her eyes at that. I had been hearing everyone hype up their own college, but I ultimately hadn’t decided where I was going to go just yet.
“So, what does have you so happy?”
“We’re in Texas. This is my home game. Jill told me she’d start me since I saved up all my tickets for the year so my family can come.”
“You had to save up all of your tickets?” Alex asked behind me.
I glanced over my shoulder to look at her before nodding.
“But that’s almost thirty tickets,” Christen pointed out.
I furrowed my brow in confusion. I hadn’t been shy about talking about how big my family was.
“I have twelve siblings. That’s why they couldn’t go to the World Cup. There’s just way too many of us.”
“You have twelve siblings?” Alex asked. I nodded. “Did your parents never hear of a condom?”
“To be fair, I was a complete accident,” I admitted. “Marley was born when my parents were nineteen. Five of my siblings were born back-to-back years.”
“You were an accident?”
“Yeah, no one told my parents how long they should have actually waited after my dad got a vasectomy. Nine months later and there I was.”
“They’re all coming?”
“Yeah! And my niece, Sky. I can’t wait for you guys to meet Sky. She loves the team.”
“Oh, yeah?”
“Yeah,” I nodded. “She watches all the games. I think she’s the only one who knows more about soccer than you just need to get the ball into the back of the net.”
“Well, then I can’t wait to meet her,” Christen said as she ruffled my hair.
I grinned at that before we were all called to huddle so we could start our drills.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
“What do you mean you aren’t coming?”
I ran a hand through my hair as I paced in front of the foot of my bed.
“I have an important interview scheduled, Jo,” Mom said causing me to scoff. “It could boost the book sales. And our family is expected to be there to support me. We’re supposed to be showing a united front.”
“Yeah, because nothing screams united like missing your youngest daughter’s victory tour. I don’t even know why I try to invite any of you. It isn’t like I’ve been asking the team to save all of my tickets for the games throughout the year to make sure everyone in the family could come.”
“You’ll have other games,” Dad cut in. I shook my head at that. They didn’t get it. They never did. “Us missing this game isn’t going to kill you.”
“When was the last game of mine you went to?” I asked. Both of my parents went silent. I couldn’t even remember myself. “You couldn’t come to the World Cup, which is the biggest stage I’ll ever play on. You didn’t come to my national team debut. Those I could somewhat understand because they weren’t in Texas. But this? This game is in Texas. It’s San Antonio. It’s only three hours and you’re telling me you won’t even make that trip to watch me?”
“We have more important things,” Dad said. I tried to blink away the tears that were starting to pool in my eyes. “We’re trying to think about the family.”
“How about for once in my life, you think about me? It’s always been the family. No one has ever been there for me. Not really!” I snapped. I let out a laugh of disbelief. “The only person who has even cared to learn anything about the sport I love so much is Sky! You couldn’t even name half of my national teammates. You’ve never cared about soccer past whether I was a good player or not. The only time you’ve had something to say to me was when I lost. It’s never when I win.
“I won the World Cup and I stayed silent when no one in this family besides Sky celebrated it because I knew that this game was going to happen. Silly me for believing that this family would actually show up to celebrate me for once! I had to watch as every single one of my teammates was able to celebrate with their family while I was left alone! You will never understand what that’s like!”
“You want to talk about never understanding?” Dad snapped back. “You could never understand that sacrifices that your mother and I have made for this family!”
“That’s your responsibility! You’re the ones who decided to have a family! It’s up to you to take care of us and make those sacrifices! I’m not the one who should be suffering just because I was the kid you never wanted!”
“We’ve never said we didn’t want you,” Mom defended. I didn’t fight the tears this time. “You and most of your siblings weren’t planned but we have always wanted all of you.”
“Do you?”
Both of my parents went silent at that. They had never shown true interest in what I was doing.
“You both have a funny way of showing it.”
Before either of them could respond I ended the call. I tossed my phone to the side, not caring where it ended up, before throwing myself on the bed. I curled into a ball as I grabbed a hold of a pillow. I let out the loudest scream I could muster up as I just let the tears fall from my eyes.
I didn’t even think too much about it when the pillow was pulled away from me and replaced with a person. I didn’t mind either even as someone else hugged me from behind as well.
“It’s okay,” Becky soothed as she rubbed my back. “It’s okay. You’re okay, Jo. You’re okay. You’re safe.”
It didn’t take much to deduce that the person who had pried me away from the pillow was Alyssa. Especially once she started to run her hand through my hair. And with the emotional toll talking to my parents had already taken on me, it wasn’t long before I was falling asleep.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I blinked my eyes open before I wiped my face. I frowned as I glanced around at the room. I tried to get my bearings, but it just felt like I couldn’t get over how disoriented I currently was. I could have sworn that Becky and Alyssa were here, but there was no trace of them.
I reached over to grab ahold of my phone where it was sitting on the nightstand. I didn’t even remember picking it up after I had thrown it to the side. But then again, I wasn’t even sure what time it was.
8:17 pm.
Shit.
Dinner was nearly over. I scrambled from the bed and into the bathroom. I turned on the sink and quickly washed at the tear tracks that were on my face. I couldn’t let any of my teammates know that I had been crying over something so insignificant. They had finally just started to look at me as if I was actually worthy of being on the team. I couldn’t let anything risk that.
Once I had decided that my face was cleaned off enough that I wouldn’t get any questions, I grabbed a hoodie that was sitting on the desk chair before pulling the hood up over my head. I didn’t even bother with the elevator. I was much more likely to run into some of my teammates that way. The stairs were much safer.
I made it through the doors of the mess hall that we had set up downstairs just before they stopped serving our meals. I was a bit surprised by how empty the room already was, I knew that most of the team liked to hang around and just chill with each other. But Becky and Alyssa were sitting at a table with each other with an extra plate.
Becky was the first one to spot me and waved me over to join them. As if I ever ate with anyone else.
“Feeling better?”
I froze at Becky’s question. So, I didn’t make up Becky and Alyssa being with me in the room.
“I don’t know what you’re talking about.”
I refused to look at either of them as I focused on my food.
“Jo,” Alyssa started as I tried to shovel my food in my mouth as fast as I could, “it’s okay to be upset about it.”
“Seriously, guys,” I said, once I swallowed the food in my mouth, “I have no idea what you’re talking about.”
“So, you don’t want to talk about a call with your parents made you cry enough that you eventually fell asleep?”
I pushed the plate of food away from me as my fork clattered against the table. I met Becky’s eyes as I clenched my jaw.
“I’m sorry you had to see that,” I said after a moment of silence passed between the three of us. “I’m usually much better about making sure no one has to see that.”
I didn’t waste any time standing up. I knew that I could at least hide away with Rose and Sam. We had, after all, gotten close while at the U-20 World Cup a year ago.
“Jo.”
Alyssa tried to catch my hand, but I was quick to shuffle away from the two of them.
“I’m not hungry anymore.”
I didn’t give them any time to say anything else as I left the mess hall. I knew that I would regret not eating my dinner, but I really wasn’t in the mood to eat right now.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
“So, you know that we love having you,” Sam started, causing me to raise my eyebrows at the taller player, “but Becky keeps asking us to make sure you’re fine. Like multiple times a day.”
I rolled my eyes at that. I had initially thought that Christen was just messing with me when she told me that I would never be able to escape Becky and Alyssa being my team moms now.
“Did something happen that we need to know about?” Rose added.
“Everything’s fine,” I assured. I had been so adamant about making sure that I wouldn’t be anywhere near Becky and Alyssa the past couple of days that I had even knocked out all of my homework for the entire trip. “Becky’s just dramatic. Really wish she’d learn that I don’t need a second mother.”
“Hey,” Rose said, drawing my eyes from my phone to her, “Becky’s just worried about you. It’s a little unfair for you to be upset with her when we all are.”
“Yeah, well, there’s nothing to be worried about.”
“Jo,” Sam softly said, “You’ve been avoiding Becky and Alyssa for the past two days. Something obviously happened. Becky seems really worried about you.”
“It’s nothing.”
“Look, we’re not asking you what it’s about,” Rose said, as she grabbed my phone when I went to look at it again. “We’re just asking that you check in with Becky. Sam and I don’t mind you staying in our room, but we are getting tired of Becky constantly asking us how you’re doing.”
I sighed at that. I knew that it wasn’t Rose or Sam’s fault. It wasn’t even Becky or Alyssa’s fault.
“Yeah, sure,” I said. Becky at least deserved to know that I wasn’t mad at her. “I’ll talk to her tomorrow. After the game.”
“Jo-”
“After the game,” I reaffirmed when Rose tried to say anything. “I just need to make sure that my head is in the game since I’m starting.”
Rose and Sam looked between each other before Rose nodded in agreement.
“But you have to talk to her.”
I nodded at that. It was a fair demand if I was going to still be here in their room.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I grinned as I jumped up onto Sam’s back. The older woman grunted but she steadied herself.
“I’m not a horse, you know.”
“Come on, Sammy! I scored a hat-trick. Gotta keep these legs fresh.”
“Try an ice bath.”
I shivered at the thought.
“No thanks,” I said to Sam.
Sam huffed, but she didn’t fight to get me off her back.
“Saw that your family is here,” Rose spoke up. I nodded at that as my eyes found where my family was sitting in the stands. “You weren’t lying that it’s huge.”
“Did everyone think that I was?” I asked. Sam and Rose both nodded their heads causing me to huff. “No one ever believes me. Not even my friends at school. Am I really that hard to trust?”
Both Sam and Rose froze at that.
“Not hard to trust,” Becky assured me as she and Alyssa joined our little group. “But twelve siblings is a lot. Kind of hard to wrap your head around.”
I slid off of Sam’s back. I knew that I needed to talk to Becky and Alyssa without anyone else butting into our conversation.
“I can explain it all to you if you really need me to when we get back to the hotel.”
Rose and Sam both shook their heads at that before making their exit to greet the fans.
I looked at the two for a moment before rubbing at the back of my neck.
“I was never mad at either of you.”
“We know,” Becky said. She reached out to place a hand on my shoulder. “We were never upset with you. We just worry about you, Jo.”
“Yeah, and the whole running off didn’t help,” Alyssa added. Becky was quick to elbow the goalie’s side. Alyssa glared at Becky. “Hey! I’m just trying to tell her that she worried us more by running off then just talking.”
“I’ve never had anyone to talk to,” I admitted. Both of the older players looked at me. “I have twelve siblings and not a single one is that interested in soccer. Plus, Elvis and Mick are the closest to me in age and they can be assholes.”
“Siblings usually are,” Alyssa agreed. “But they’ll always be there for you.”
“I’m just not used to it,” I said. They two looked between each other causing me to motion to them. “People actively caring about me. I mean, they care. My family. I know they do, but there’s so many of us that things just don’t seem as impressive anymore.”
Becky reached out to pull me into a hug along with Alyssa.
“Well, you’ll always have us. Promise.”
I squeezed the two a bit tighter before Alyssa forced her way away from us.
“Okay, go spend some time with your family. After all, Becky didn’t convince them to come just for you to ignore them.”
I paused at that as I turned to Becky.
“Thank you.”
Becky nodded before pushing me away.
“You’ll have to bring Sky to the locker room with you,” Becky said with a grin. “Go enjoy the time with your family.”
I nodded before rushing off over to where my family was.

Series Masterlist
➪in which bradley finally makes things official between you and him, and the guys finally catch onto what’s been keeping their frat mate so busy lately.
PSA: strongly suggested to read the warnings before proceeding.
WC; 4.5k | Do not repost this anywhere, reblogs are fine ♡
Bradley failed to notice that you had accidentally left your hoodie on his passenger seat when he dropped you off last night. He was going to bring it to you since you didn’t live far away, but he decided to just keep it there until he saw you again.
Then he got himself ready for bed and saw the mess he made for you in his boxers, and he went right back out to his Jeep and grabbed your hoodie, then spent the next ten minutes holding it up to his nose as he jerked himself off in his bedroom.
He couldn’t help it. It smelled like movie theater popcorn and you, a combination he didn’t think he would like so much.
He was happy it was the weekend and he didn’t have class to go to today, because he knew he wouldn’t have been able to focus on a single thing other than you.
Why you were such a distraction, he didn’t know, but he honestly didn’t care. Last night was amazing, and he was cursing himself for it ending so soon. You and he talked for a long time after you got each other off in the driver’s seat of his Jeep, and it was only around ten when he drove you back to campus. He should’ve taken you to get milkshakes or something, since you both were quite a big fan of them, instead of reminding himself that he wanted to take things slow with you.
Bradley hadn’t even told you about Bri yet, like you told him about Luke, but he was sure that you would automatically think that you were a rebound since he and Bri broke up literally only a week ago tomorrow. That wasn’t the case, though. Sure, his initial, drunken thought was to find someone to make Bri jealous with, but that wasn’t what he was doing with you. He liked you, and if she was jealous because of that, then it was just a bonus.
He knew he liked you a bit too much too soon, so he restricted himself to only texting you all throughout Saturday while he tried to catch up on the assignments he’d been given during the first week back at school. As he read through them, he realized that he had missed the explanation of them as well since he was too preoccupied with thoughts of you, and then he told himself to get a grip.
He had never been like this before, not with anyone, but he wasn’t mad that you were the first person to get him all flustered and unfocused like he currently is now.
On Sunday, he caved.
I miss you, babes. Can I see you today?
He was scribbling out a spelling error, not caring enough about neatness to actually erase the mistake, when you got back to him.
Y/n: I miss you, flyboy. What did you have in mind?
Bradley laughed at the name, pushing aside his school work in order to give you his full attention. It was nearing four in the afternoon and he hadn’t eaten much today other than half a box of stale crackers, and he has a few things in the fridge and cupboard he needs to get rid of soon, so he decided to invite you over for dinner.
You hungry? I’m sick of fast food places, let me make you something real and half decent.
Y/n: I’m always hungry, and beyond curious to find out about your culinary skills.
I’m very skilled in the kitchen I barely use, believe me. Come over at 5?
Y/n: I believe you. See you soon, flyboy.
Bradley was left smiling stupidly at his phone, then he quickly changed your contact name before trying to get as much studying time in as possible before you got here.
-
You’d spent most of the weekend in your room, wanting to avoid Sam as much as you could. You were still annoyed with her, and pissed off that she thinks you were looking for a rebound in Bradley. Even though you weren’t, she was the one who told you to go get a rebound anyway.
Things had been over between you and Luke for months, and you were more than ready to move on. And Bradley seemed like a great person to move on with, if he felt the same way about you. Though, you had a feeling he did since he pretty much told you in his Jeep on Friday night.
Fuck, you’ve replayed that night over and over in your head too many times to count. It was almost too perfect. Not only did he make you feel unbelievably good, the long talk you had after was something you didn’t know you needed so badly.
Talking with Bradley was one of the easiest things you had ever done, and listening to him talk about his life and past and possible future was like a breath of fresh air.
It was almost five when you finally left the confines of your room, and of course Sam was right there. Really, you should’ve expected it since her room is across the hall from yours, and the hall is extremely small, so you were bound to bump into her eventually. “Oh,” she blandly said, a bottle of Pepsi in one hand and a bag of chips in the other. “You’re alive. She’s alive, everyone.”
You watch with narrowed eyes as she turns and gestures to you as if it wasn’t just you and her in the cramped hall. “Really?” You ask in a bored tone, crossing your arms.
“Really,” she hummed, raising her brows quickly before turning towards her bedroom door. “Have fun with the frat boy.”
You glared at her then at her door when she slammed it in your face. How did she know you were going to see Bradley? Sure, you’ve seen him a lot since that party, maybe a bit too much, but still. That was a lucky guess.
Not wanting to be in a bad mood when you get to his place, you take a deep breath and raise both your middle fingers at her door, then head towards the front one. You would deal with her later, and preferably clear the air, because she was acting like a child and you were getting fed up with it.
It was kind of cold out for a summer night, and you failed to check the weather before leaving, so you ended up walking across campus in just a grey tank top and black jeans. You walk up the steps and knock on the door, rubbing your hands over your arms afterwards as you wait.
You didn’t have to wait for too long as less than ten seconds later the door opened and revealed the guy you were annoyingly into. “Hey,” Bradley greeted with a boyish smile that had you fighting off one of your own. “You don’t have to knock, you know. We rarely ever lock the door.”
“Oh,” you laugh and step inside the house when he moves to the side. “That’s really good to know in case I ever stay the night again.”
Bradley, who looked too good to be true in his blue flannel and dark jeans, rolled his eyes as he pushed the door closed. “You didn’t let me finish. We rarely ever lock it when we’re home,” he added with a laugh, draping his arm over your shoulder as he guided you into the kitchen.
You hum and lean into his side, wrapping your arm around his middle. “That makes it sound a lot better,” you smile up at him. “Thanks for clarifying.”
Bradley shook his head, leaning down to press a kiss to your lips as if it came naturally to him. Was this a normal thing now? God, you hoped so. “Come on,” he said against your lips. “It’s almost ready.”
You let him lead you into the kitchen, your body stuck to his. It seemed like neither one of you wanted to let the other one go at the moment, and you didn’t mind it one bit. “What’s almost ready?”
“The decent food I promised you,” he answered, pulling you with him to the stove. You barely got a second to look at the pan that was on the burner before Bradley picked you up effortlessly and set you down on the counter next to the oven.
You got a hint of his strength on Friday night when he threw you over his shoulder and carried you across the parking garage, and both times left you a bit breathless.
Bradley moved his body so his waist was in between your thighs, and his hands were placed on the counter next to your hips. He was still taller than you, even like this, so he had to lean down to ghost his lips over yours. “Do you wanna taste it?” He asked, his words muffled against your mouth.
Not being able to form proper words, you nod and harshly swallow at the smirk that formed on his lips. He turned away from you and grabbed a fork, piling a bit of the ground beef onto it before bringing it up to your mouth. You hold eye contact as you take the fork between your teeth, a sharp intake following shortly after. “Wow,”
“Good? Bad?” Bradley laughed, setting the fork down and placing his hands on either side of your hips again. “Which one is it?”
“Good, it’s good,” you reply, still chewing as you reach up to wipe at your mouth. “Spicy.”
He hummed, lifting his hand and running his thumb along your bottom lip, collecting what you failed to wipe away. “Is that bad? Do you not like spicy things?”
You shake your head, a laugh escaping afterwards. “I do, I just can’t handle a lot of spice. My taste buds will fall off,”
“Oh, we can’t have that,” Bradley laughed, too, sliding his hand up so it’s caressing the side of your face. You were still smiling when his gaze became a little more intimate, and you thought he was going to kiss you again when he instead surprised you. “Do you wanna be my girlfriend?”
Your eyes widen a bit and you laugh again, a sound of disbelief as your eyes flickered all over his face. “What?”
“Do you want to be my girlfriend?” He repeated slower this time, his thumb gently stroking your cheek as he looked down at your lips.
The shock from the sudden question eventually wears off and you place your hands on his shoulders. “Um,” you trail off as you sit up straighter, your hands sliding up to tangle in his hair. “Yeah, I do.”
Bradley grinned at you, “Yeah?”
“Yeah,” you confirm, unable to stop the smile that matched his before he leaned in and pressed a firm kiss to your mouth.
You gently pull at his hair as he grabs your hips in both hands, deepening the kiss as he tugs you towards the edge of the counter. “You left your hoodie in the Jeep,” he told you, barely pulling away from your lips as he spoke.
“Oh,” you murmur. “Is it still in there?”
He shook his head, kissing you again after. “It’s in my room,” he mumbled. “I’m keeping it.”
You laugh against his lips, wrapping your arms around his shoulders before pulling away. “It’s my favorite one,” you pouted and he reached up to tug at your bottom lip.
“You can steal one of mine,” he suggested and the offer sounded too tempting to decline, so you just smiled at him and nodded.
“Okay,” you agreed, kissing him one last time before pushing him away from you. “Check the food, flyboy. Make sure it’s not burning.”
Bradley shook his head with a laugh, stepping away from you and checking on the pan. “It’s not,” he observed, glancing over at you with teasing eyes. “But if it was, it’d be your fault for distracting me.”
You shrug, gripping the edge of the granite as you lean over. “You gotta learn how to focus on the important tasks if you want to be in the Navy,”
He copied your shrug and looked over at you as he turned the stove off and set the pan onto a different burner. “I don’t know, kissing you seemed very important,”
You roll your eyes and look around the simple kitchen. “Where are your frat buddies?”
“I don’t know,” Bradley answered with a quiet laugh, transferring the beef into a bowl. “They’re hardly ever here. That’s why it’s so quiet. I don’t know what they do all day long.”
You nod even though he was too focused on the food to see it. “I like it when it’s quiet,” you say, watching as he grabs two plates from the top shelf of a cupboard, the stretch making his flannel lift and expose a bit of his toned waist. “Means I get you all to myself.”
“What, having me all to yourself every day last week wasn’t enough?” He teased, setting the plates down before holding his hand out to you.
You grab it and hop down, throwing your arms around his shoulders and pressing your nose to his. “Nope,” you mumble. “Friday was too good of a date, it just made me want you more.”
Bradley wrapped his arms around your waist and pulled you close to his chest. “Good, ‘cause that was kinda the plan,”
“Oh,” you drag the word out as he pulls you with him to the small table by the sliding door. “You’ve got it all figured out, huh?”
Bradley shrugs, sitting down on a chair and pulling you onto his lap. “I might’ve thought about it once or twice,” he replied and you shake your head, watching as he reached around you and began piling various ingredients onto a tortilla wrap.
Why did it feel so easy with him? And how was he able to make your whole body blush with a simple sentence like that?
You drape your arm over his shoulders as you get yourself settled on his lap, and when you turned your head to look at him, you were able to see his multiple scars up close. “Can I ask you something?” You sounded a bit hesitant, and Bradley quickly looked up at you.
“Yeah, of course,” he answered, wrapping one arm around your middle. “Did I already mess this up?”
“No,” you laugh, leaning down to press a kiss to the corner of his mouth to further prove your words. “I just…how did you get these scars?” You quietly asked, tracing your fingers along the raised skin on his face and neck.
Bradley’s shoulders dropped in what you think is relief before he leaned back against the chair. “You finally noticed them, huh?”
Shaking your head, you shift on his lap so you could make your own wrap, then you lean against him again. “I noticed them the first night I met you, I just didn’t want to ask you something that might make you uncomfortable,”
“No, it’s fine,” he gave you a toothless smile, running his fingers along the waistline of your jeans. “It’s stupid, really. I got really drunk at a party last year and I started talking out of my ass to Eli and Wes, the guys I live with. It got heated and I don’t even remember why or what I said, but it was apparently something pretty bad since Eli ended up shoving me into a cabinet and I went right through the glass door of it.”
Your eyes widen and you put your wrap down after only taking one bite. “Oh, my God,” you gasped, sliding your hand up and gently massaging the back of his neck. “Jesus, Bradley. And you’re still friends with them? You still live with them?”
“Still got the cabinet, too,” he nodded across the kitchen and towards the fridge. A tall, wooden cabinet was right next to it, and you questioned how you failed to notice it there until he pointed it out. The door was missing the glass, and the wood around it was chipped, indicating that it was broken pretty forcefully. “We use it as a place to put the recycle bin now.”
You turn back to him with a frown. “Bradley..”
His smile faded, though you knew it was a forced one anyway. “I know. They thought it was funny at the time, and I woke up the next morning with glass still in my face and shoulder. I looked pretty fucking scary walking across the street to the hospital with blood all over me,”
You shake your head and bury your face against the side of his neck. “Fuck,”
Bradley huffed out a laugh, running his hand up and down your back. “I know,” he trailed off. “I had to lie to the doctor and say that I fell into it instead of telling him that my friend pushed me then left me on my bed afterwards.”
Groaning you press a chaste kiss to the healed scar on his throat before lifting your head. “Bradley. I hate your frat buddies,”
He hummed in agreement, kissing your temple and keeping his lips there after. “I’m not very fond of them lately, either,”
After you begged him to let you clean up since he cooked, Bradley guided you towards the living room. Flashbacks of your third date, if he counted it as a date like you do, passed through your head, and when you looked over at the far end of the couch, you could see the blanket you and he shared when you fell asleep.
A smile takes over your lips as you fall onto the same spot you were in the last time you were here, and Bradley sits next to you. “Did you like it? Did my culinary skills impress you?”
“You know what, they did,” you answered with a laugh, leaning into his side when he lifted his arm. “You’re right, real food tastes so much better.”
Bradley laughed and then your phone went off. You pulled it from your pocket, leaning your head on his chest as you read the new text you had gotten.
Luke: Are you seriously done with us?? With me? Come on, brat, we’re good together.
Your brows furrowed and you let out a quiet huff. Bradley shifted and you knew he read it, too, when he asked, “Is that your ex?” in a deep grunt, unknowingly making you smile at the protectiveness in his voice.
“Yep,” you sigh, not knowing what to say that would get Luke to back off.
“Block him,” Bradley suggested and your eyes widened a bit.
“What? You think I should block him?” You question, cuddling closer to his side as he nodded.
“I don’t like the way he calls you brat, it’s condescending,”
“Condescending?” You repeat with a laugh before scrolling through your long thread with your ex. “You really think I should block him? You think he’ll get the hint that way?”
Bradley hummed, leaning down to kiss the top of your head. “Block him, baby,”
You bite back a moan and click on the red button without thinking twice. “There,” you whisper, nudging his chin with the top of your head. “He’s blocked.”
You swipe out of the thread and were about to turn your phone off when Bradley stopped you. “Can I see it for a second?”
“My phone? Why? You think I have more secret exes I should block?” You tease and hand him your phone, watching as he laughed and shook his head.
“No, I just wanted to change something,” he mumbled, clicking on his own contact. “Fratley, huh?”
You laugh and nod. “It’s fitting,”
“I like it,” he rasped, editing the contact name before handing your phone back to you. “There.”
You look at the two new hearts he added beside his name and smile, clicking on the picture icon before crawling onto his lap. “Okay, picture time,” you state, goosebumps forming on your skin as he runs his hands up and down your thighs.
With your phone in one hand, you use your other to purse his lips together, his cheeks scrunching up cutely as you did so. You quickly take the photo and stare at it for a few seconds, a humorous smile painted on your lips. “Good?” He questioned with a laugh and you nod, turning your phone and showing him the picture. “Jesus.”
You laugh loudly, dropping your phone onto the cushion next to you. “You’re so cute,” you murmur, leaning down to kiss along the side of his face. “My turn.”
You hold your hand out to him and he laughs, unlocking his phone and placing it on your palm. “Have at it,” he said and leaned back on the couch as you opened his contacts.
“Oh, look at that,” you trail off. “You already changed my name.”
Bradley nodded smugly, taking his phone from you again and pulling you down against his chest. You laughed and braced your hands on his shoulders and smiled when he lifted his hand and took a picture of the two of you, his lips pressed to your cheek. You watched as he set it as your contact picture, cropping most of himself out and only leaving half his face in it.
“Now that that’s settled,” he whispered, kissing you before you could get another word out and wrapping his arms around you.
-
After kissing for what felt like hours, you had to go back to your place since you had a test you needed to study for that was for your morning class tomorrow.
Bradley was reluctant to let go of you once you moved off the couch and pulled him into a hug by the front door. He pressed too many kisses to count all over your face before letting you leave with a pretty smile on your lips.
Then he was alone and already thinking about you.
He turned around and headed up to his room, shrugging off his flannel that smelled like your perfume and tossing it onto his desk chair next to your hoodie. He kicked the door closed and fell onto his bed, his notebook opened to a random page as he read over his terrible handwriting.
Not even five minutes passed before his bedroom door swung open and Bradley turned just as Eli and Wes stumbled their way into his room with beer bottles in their hands. “Hey, Bradshaw!” Wes greeted in a slurred voice, his arm draped around Eli’s shoulder as they fell onto the end of his bed. “Shit, this is more comfortable than mine. Can we switch beds?”
Bradley raised a brow and sat up against the headboard. “No,” he answered, knowing Westley was being serious with that question. “Do you guys need something?”
Eli lifted his head and narrowed his eyes, “What? We have to need something to be able to hang out with you? That’s low, bro,”
Bradley shook his head and looked back down at his notebook just as his phone went off from its place next to him. He put the book down and reached for the phone, but Eli was quicker and apparently wanted to be a pain in the ass as he grabbed it before Bradley could.
“Ooh, Y/n, huh?” He laughed as he held Bradley’s phone about three inches away from his face. “Is this what’s been keeping you so preoccupied nowadays, Bradshaw?”
“Give me my phone,” Bradley grunted, reaching for it.
Eli held it away from him with a smirk. “Aww, is she your girlfriend now? You’re over Bri?”
“That was quick,” Wes chimed in, lifting his body up so he could look at Bradley’s phone as well.
“Guys, I’m serious,” Bradley muttered, grabbing the device before Eli could lock him out of it with all the failed password attempts. There was no way he was telling these two fucking idiots that he had made it official with you. They were drunk off their asses and already didn’t take anything he did seriously. There was no way he’d be able to convince them that he’s being genuine with you.
“Does she know she’s just a bet yet?” Eli asked as he took a swig from the bottle.
Bradley was just about to read your text, but Eli’s question had his face heating up and his expression dropping. “No,” he answered instantly. “And she’s not going to know, because she’s not a bet.”
Eli rolls his eyes and swirls the beer around in the bottle. “Yeah, yeah, you said that last time, but look at it from our perspective, dude,” he started, leaning towards Bradley, the strong booze radiating off him. “Bri breaks up with you, you throw a party and come up with this sick, cruel idea to help get her back, decide to use Y/n for that idea, and then you spend all of last week with her. And now she’s your girlfriend? Come on, Bradshaw, you haven’t even tried to hide your true intentions.”
Bradley narrowed his eyes and set his phone aside. “What are my true intentions?”
“You’re hoping to make Bri jealous so she’ll come back to you,” Eli answered, shrugging afterwards as he finished off his beer. “Then you’ll dump Y/n, and we’ll pay you a thousand each.”
“I’m not going to dump Y/n-”
“So if Bri were to come up to you sometime within the next few weeks and beg you to take her back, you wouldn’t?” Wes asked, sipping the last of his own beer.
Bradley wanted nothing more than to kick these two drunk guys out of his room. He had nothing to say or prove to them, and he wished they would just drop it. “No, I wouldn’t take her back,” he muttered, bringing his knees to his chest as he rubbed at his eyes. “I like Y/n.”
“More than Bri?” Wes asked and Bradley glared at him, making the blond raise his hands in defense. “Hey, you’re the one who made a bet to win her back.”
“Y/n’s not a bet-”
“Think of it as a bargain, then,” Eli cut him off, suddenly sounding more sober than how he sounded when he first came in. “Come on, Brad, you’ve come this far. See how it plays out. You keep doing whatever it is you’re doing with Y/n, and if she ends up falling for you, then you get two grand.”
“And if she doesn’t?” Bradley had no idea why he was still even entertaining them at this point.
“Then we’ll know that you really do suck at dating,” Eli laughed. “Just go with it, bro. It could be fun for all of us. And she’ll never know.”
Bradley didn’t say anything else, waiting until Eli and Wes got bored of the silence and left. When they were gone, he finally allowed himself to read the text you sent almost twenty minutes ago.
Babes🩷: I forgot to steal one of your hoodies. Can you bring me that flannel you were wearing tomorrow? For no particular reason at all.

Hitoshi offers to stay.
950 words
Tumblr media
You puttered around your new apartment tending to your guests. Having a party with the rest of your pro-hero friends seemed like a good idea to celebrate your new place. However, you failed to remember that the one thing about heroes is they work hard and drink harder.
Getting everyone together to celebrate soon resulted in your apartment being filled with drunk friends. Laughing, dancing, catching up, but also plenty of alcohol spills.
“Oh shit! I’m sorry in your new place too,” Mina apologized, eyes glazed over from the alcohol, she looked around the room for some napkins.
“It’s alright, don’t worry about it! I’ll be right back,” you assured her and quickly took off for the kitchen.
You rounded the corner too fast, in a hurry, and half buzzed. Trying as quickly as possible to clean the spill, you weren’t paying attention and crashed into Hitoshi.
His red solo cup squashed between you both soaking his shirt.
“Shit! I’m so sorry Shinso,” you apologized backing up embarrassed.
“It’s alright,” he replied, glancing down at his drenched shirt.
“I got to clean up a spill in the living room, but then I’ll come back to remake your drink!” You said hurriedly grabbing the napkins.
“You don’t have to,” he replied, but you had already vanished back into the living room.
Mina continued to apologize as she bent down to the floor with you to soak up the spill.
“Don’t worry about it, accidents were bound to happen with all of us together again,” you laughed.
Mina giggled, “Guess we both need another drink, don’t we?” She suggested.
“I actually bulldozed into Shinso so, I’m going back to remake his drink. I’ll bring you back one too,” you offered.
Mina glanced up at you, ready to make a joke but you had already grabbed the soiled napkins and headed back to the kitchen.
When you entered the kitchen, Hitoshi had already remade the drink you spilled.
“I told you I’d remake it for you,” you spoke, alerting his attention.
“It’s fine, seems you got your hands full,” he commented, noticing your out of breath appearance.
“Let me at least get you a shirt and dry that one up,” you offered. “I’ve got a clean oversized t-shirt somewhere.”
Hitoshi smiled; it was sweet you were so persistent. He really didn’t care about his wet shirt, but he didn’t mind you wanting to tend to him.
“Alright, if you feel so inclined,” he agreed.
“Ok come with me,” you motioned for him to follow you to your room.
You poked around the room searching for a shirt that would fit him, while Hitoshi gazed around your room. Most of your things still in boxes. Very few items decorated your room, but on the bed a stuffed animal was laid out neatly. Something about that was cute and innocent. It made him feel as though he was stealing glances into your private life.
“Here you go! I think this one should fit, at least while I throw yours in the dryer,” you declared, holding up a plain black t-shirt that you sometimes used for bed. “I promise it’s clean.”
“Hold this for me for a second?” He asked handing you his drink. You grabbed the solo cup from him, and Hitoshi pulled off his soaked shirt.
“Oh,” you mewled out accidentally. Maybe it was the buzz you had going, but the sight of Hitoshi shirtless made your fingers tighten around the solo cup. The spill from the alcohol caused his toned abs to glisten in the low light of your room. Hitoshi peered up at you, an eyebrow raised at your reaction.
“Sorry!” You blurted out, “You um- must be doing a lot of hero work, you look good.” You said honestly.
“Thank you,” he replied, cheeks turning rosy at your compliment.
“Oh, uh here,” you handed him the dry shirt, hands shaking. It was clear you were nervous.
Hitoshi thought it was amusing. A beautiful woman like you nervous because of him? He couldn’t deny how much he loved it.
Grabbing the shirt from you, your bedroom door suddenly bursts open.
“Ops,” Mina giggled. “Was wondering when you were coming back with my drink. Didn’t realize I was interrupting,” she commented glancing over at Hitoshi who was still shirtless.
Your face darkened with embarrassment, “No! I was just giving him a dry shirt!” You explained.
“Uh hu, sure sure,” Mina laughed, leaving and closing the door behind her.
“I’m sorry!” You said to Hitoshi, face completely scarlet.
“Do you always apologize this much?” he asked, finally grabbing and putting on the dry shirt. “I haven’t seen you relax since I got here. Everyone seems to be letting loose but you.”
You let a sigh, and what felt like the first time since the party took in a breath. “To be honest I thought it would be fun to celebrate my new place with everyone but- it’s turning out to be overwhelming.”
“Mm,” Hitoshi hummed understanding. “It’s definitely a rambunctious group. Hard to keep up with all that energy.”
“Exactly! I’m trying to be a good host but I’m exhausted.” You confessed.
“If you’d like I’ll stay till everyone leaves and help clean up,” Hitoshi offered.
Your eyes flashed to his. Was that an innocent offer, you wondered? If his kindness had an ulterior motive, his lilac eyes gave nothing away. His gaze rested on you lazily, with a calmness that you envied.
You swallowed as your mind raced at the possible implications, deciding to accept his help.
“Yeah… I’d like that,” you smiled, part of you hoping Hitoshi did have another reason for wanting to stay.

“You’re going to pass your rookie exam,” your TO said on your second day of training. “But there’s one thing I need you to do. Score higher than Bradford.”
And, like that, a rivalry was born.
Tumblr media
Years after you started competing against Tim Bradford to be the best rookie, your rivalry has only strengthened. Everyone in your station knows about your competitive natures, but to outsiders and visitors, it seems like you and Tim hate one another. There has never been any real animosity, only competition and everything that comes with it.
“We’re riding together today,” Tim says.
You turn quickly, surprised to see him standing beside you. “What?” you ask.
“I just talked to Grey. We’re riding together, but he wouldn’t tell me why. Something to do with the string of robberies, I presume.”
“And he thought you would need help from a competent cop,” you reply with a nod. “I guess I can make time for that.”
“If that’s what you need to hear to actually try for once. I could find the guy on my own faster than you can get out of the shop.”
“We’ll see about that,” you scoff.
“We certainly will. The first one to spot anything gets a point, making contact gets five, and the arresting officer gets fifty. Deal?”
You look at Tim’s hand and wrinkle your nose in faux disgust before you shake. “You’re going down, Bradford.”
“And you’ll break the fall, boot.”
“You’re a jerk.”
“Bradford!” Grey yells. “Let’s go! Roll call doesn’t wait for you.”
You smirk as you step backward toward the door. “Such a bad cop, Bradford. Keep your social schedule on your own time.”
“You wish you were part of my social schedule,” he counters.
“At least you’d have one then. When I have fifty-six winning points, maybe I’ll invite you to the celebration.”
Tim rolls his eyes and follows you inside. He can’t remember the last time he did anything with you that wasn’t a competition. You’re both good cops, though, so as long as you get the job done, your work rivalry isn’t hurting anyone.
Tumblr media
“What’s it like?” you ask from the passenger seat.
“What’s what like?” Tim replies.
“Being a control freak that still loses.”
“Cute,” Tim mumbles. “At least I didn’t have to wear long sleeves for an extra month like someone I know.”
“Yeah, Lucy didn’t deserve that,” you agree. “You’re just a terrible TO, so you knew she wasn’t ready.”
“Or maybe she picked the wrong cop to idolize,” Tim snaps.
“Tim? Did you just admit that Lucy thinks I’m a better cop than you?” you ask happily. “Because I knew she had good taste, but I wasn’t sure if you knew that.”
“Aren’t you supposed to be looking for a suspect instead of obsessing over how people see you?”
“Aren’t you supposed to be driving instead of getting angry because I’m right?”
Tim takes a deep breath and returns his attention to the road. You push his buttons, but he pushes you just as hard. Everything between you is competitive, there’s a deep-seated need to prove that you’re better because of how your TOs treated you in your boot days.
Your phone rings, and you wave Tim off before he can tell you not to answer it.
“Detective Lopez,” you greet, though you say it toward Tim. “How can I help you?”
“Can you come back to the station or are you too busy flirting- I mean competing with Tim?” she asks.
“I can come back. Tim?” you begin.
“Got it,” he interjects softly. He hits his blinker and enters a turn lane to take you back.
“I’ll be there in ten,” you tell Angela.
“Thank you. We got a lead on where the stolen goods may be stashed but we’re shorthanded.”
“No problem.”
Angela ends the call, and you look at the road as you think about the details of the case. Something isn’t adding up. They know plenty about the suspect, but not where he lives or where all of the stolen property ended up. The guy seems homeless.
“Guess she figured out that you’re not going to find anything out here that I can’t find alone,” Tim muses.
“Or she knows that I’ve got a better chance of blowing this case open if you’re not aimlessly dragging me around the city.”
“What’d she say?” Tim asks.
“They found a lead and don’t have enough people to trace it. You can ride alone, as far as they know, so I get to track down tips.”
“I’ll find our guy before you find anything helpful,” Tim declares.
“Yeah, right!” you argue, turning in your seat to face him. “First one to find something that the detectives deem useful wins.”
“Wins what?”
You purse your lips as you think. There are not many rewards left that you and Tim haven’t already competed for. Maybe it shouldn’t be a material item, you think.
“The loser admits, in roll call tomorrow, that the winner is a better cop,” you suggest.
“It would be fun to hear you say that,” Tim says quietly. “Deal.”
He extends his right hand over the console, and you shake it firmly before sitting back in your seat. When he arrives back at the station, you exit the shop and salute him sarcastically before you walk inside. You begin to worry very quickly that the lead Angela called you back for may not be anything. No matter what, you have to beat Tim because you can’t lose.
Tumblr media
“Control, this is Bradford, can you get me information on who owns 1219 Larga Avenue?” Tim radios.
“1219 Larga Avenue is leased by Corporeal Corporations,” control answers.
“A shell corporation,” Tim says to himself.
He’s been following a vehicle matching one listed on the case report. It isn’t the suspect’s vehicle, but one of his acquaintances’. Tim parks down the street and watches the house from his side mirror for several minutes. Whoever was driving the car seems to be staying for a while.
“Control, this is Bradford. I’m approaching the house, code 6-Charles.”
“Assistance on standby.”
Tim opens his door and then hesitates. In his uniform, he has no chance of getting close to anyone in that house. He could approach the house next door to gather intel about how many people are inside, but that could spook them and get innocent people hurt. The third option, one he will never admit to learning from you, is to play the part of a stupid cop at the wrong house.
“Officer!” a woman yells across the street.
Tim gestures for her to quiet before he closes his door and walks across the street. “How can I help you, ma’am?” he asks.
“There was this car that kept driving up and down the road yesterday! It was a young boy and an older man, and they would just drive down, turn around, and come back. I live here, my children play here, and if this is going to become a cesspool of gang people, someone needs to do something!” she explains.
“Ma’am, it sounds to me like a man may have just been teaching his son how to drive on a residential street, which is neither illegal nor gang-related. If you see them again, call the non-emergency line and someone will come make sure everything is alright.”
Tim has dealt with his fair share of stupid complaints, but he can’t even be bothered by this one. Not when something malicious may be taking place four houses away. The woman huffs as she turns to go back to her home. Just as she turns off the sidewalk, someone shoots.
Tim dives behind a nearby car and braces himself against the back bumper. Based on the spray of bullets destroying the car, Tim guesses it’s numerous semi-automatic rifles that he’s up against.
“Dispatch, I need that backup! I’m taking heavy fire,” he radios.
A moment later, dispatch calls, “Code 99” with his location. Tim curses; he doesn’t need every cop in the county coming to his rescue, just one or two. The bullets slow, and Tim moves carefully to the edge of the vehicle. Three men stand in the yard, and he aims his gun at the one closest to him. While he’s replacing the magazine into the gun, Tim shoots his leg, and he falls to the ground. The others open fire again, and Tim spins to be out of sight again.
A heavy hand lands on Tim’s shoulder, and before he can react, a knife is pressed to his throat. Everything goes silent as he’s lifted to his feet and shoved toward the sidewalk. The men have taken their injured partner inside, and Tim knows that once he’s in that house, he is as good as dead.
“Look, man, I just came to answer another call. Let me go and nothing happens,” he tells the man pushing him.
“You already called for backup.”
“And they’ll go to the other house, see a shot-up car. The most you have to do is answer the door and say ‘No, officer, I didn’t see a thing.’”
“You won’t see a thing if you don’t shut up,” the man growls as they near the door.
Tim stands up straighter, and when the knife falls toward his chest rather than his neck, he kicks backward and into the man’s knee. The knife scrapes across Tim’s uniform, but he doesn’t feel it as he turns to face the door and grabs his gun. His hand reaches the holster, but it’s empty. Tim looks around and realizes that his gun must be behind the car. He retrieves the knife from the ground and prepares to run for the car, but two prongs from a taser enter his chest before he can, and he collapses beside his fourth assailant. Sirens echo in the distance as Tim fights to stay conscious. The man on the porch squeezes the trigger again, and Tim only feels the first twitch of his legs before everything stops.
Tumblr media
“LAPD, open up!” you yell.
You are moments away from punching the door when it swings open. Immediately, you recognize the long-haired man as your robbery suspect. The chances of him being alone are slim, though, so you can’t think about Tim right now, only about getting this man in custody without getting hurt or killed.
“How can I help, officer?” he asks, leaning against the door to block your view inside.
“I just have a question about the car parked down the street,” you explain with a friendly smile.
“All of my cars are here in my driveway. Maybe ask someone else.”
“So, you don’t know who owns the grey sedan with all the bullet holes and a dead body in the back?” you ask, raising your brows.
“Dead body,” he repeats. He looks past you like he’s trying to figure out how that got there.
“The owner?” you press.
“Oh, sure, uh Miguel, I think is his name. Big guy down the street.”
“Thank you so much for your help. Could I just get your name for my report?” you ask.
“Cody Lambert,” he answers, still looking past you.
You’re surprised that he gives you his real name. Your lie about the body in his car jarred him more than you expected.
“And are you here alone today?” you ask.
“Yes, ma’am.”
He shifts slightly, and you can see an empty living room behind him. You have an opportunity, but if you take it and you’re wrong, you may be putting Tim’s life on the line.
“Could you point out which house Miguel lives in? I’m terrible with numbers and directions.” You laugh at yourself to sell your dumb act and pray that it works.
“Yeah,” he mumbles, stepping out onto the porch.
He closes the door behind him, and you waste no time pushing him down onto the ground. You keep his face turned toward the dirt so he can’t yell as you secure the handcuffs.
“You’re under arrest,” you say in his ear. “And if you yell when I pick you up, I can’t promise anything. If you stay quiet, though, I’ll get you the best pro bono attorney in the state. Understood?”
He doesn’t acknowledge your offer, so you drive your knee between his kidneys and repeat, “Understood?”
He groans against the ground before a muffled, “Yes,” reaches your ears. You pull him up and walk him to your shop where it’s parked in front of the next house. As you reach for the radio to alert dispatch, a gun is fired inside the house.
“Too late,” your suspect says as you turn to look.
You abandon the radio on the floorboard of the passenger seat and slam the door. As you return to the front door and kick it in, you keep your gun ready. There isn’t time to waste in a situation like this, and Tim is counting on you. If he’s still here and still alive, that is.
When you reach a closed door at the end of the hallway after clearing the other rooms, you raise your gun before you and kick the door open. It hits the wall with a thud as you step over the threshold. One of Cody’s known acquaintances blocks your path, with a puddle of blood beneath him. You look past him to clear the room, but see what you’re looking for before you finish.
“Tim,” you say when you see him stretched out on a broken twin-sized bed.
“Took you long enough,” he mumbles. “And I won.”
You lean over him as you holster your weapon. He is injured and needs assistance, but his radio is smashed and yours is in the shop.
“Are there more of them?” you ask.
“There’s four.”
Tim hasn’t opened his eyes yet, which concerns you. More concerning, however, is the knowledge that there are two more people around this house. You cleared it, but they could be waiting in the attic or just outside.
“I’ll go call for help,” you tell Tim. “Stay alert.”
As you turn, heavy footsteps rattle the walls of the hallway. You look back to Tim and know you can’t leave him here. Even if you do argue, compete, and tease each other, you’re both cops and you have to protect one another. Plus, you care about him, and it hurts you to see him like this. Carefully, you push the door closed and lock it. There’s nothing in the room to block it with… except for the suspect on the floor.
“Did you shoot him?” you whisper. “How?”
“His gun,” Tim mumbles.
You tilt your head quickly, surprised and impressed, though you know Tim has more training in this kind of thing than the average cop. The guy is heavy, literally dead weight, but you roll him against the door as an extra cover before you sidestep the blood puddle and return to Tim’s side.
“Where are you hurt?” you whisper as you kneel beside him.
Tim hums, and you know he’s fading fast. You murmur an apology before you begin unbuttoning his uniform. When you begin to pull it open, you notice two taser prongs buried in his pec muscles. You pull them out quickly and squeeze your eyes closed when Tim grunts.
With his shirt open, you can see a several bloody spots, a scrape against his chest, and swelling on his right side. Gently laying a hand over his t-shirt, you know that his ribs are broken.
“I need to look, Tim,” you say as you grab the bottom of his shirt. “I’m sorry.”
You pull his shirt up carefully and inhale sharply when you see the bruises littering his torso and chest. The swelling looks worse without fabric over it.
“Can you breathe well?” you ask.
Tim shakes his head, a small movement that you feel more than see. There’s a chance that his broken rib has punctured a lung, and he needs medical attention now.
“Thank you,” Tim says. His eyes are still closed, but you watch his face as he says it.
A few moments later, Tim moves his left hand to catch yours as you look at the scrape spanning his chest. He squeezes your wrist softly and your eyes raise to his.
Tim blinks his eyes open and waits until he finds your face to ask, “Why are you helping me?”
“Tim,” you begin. “Why wouldn’t I? You can’t tell me that you think I hate you because of our rivalry. That’s all it has ever been, competition.”
Tim nods as his eyes close again. “I thought you’d be a better cop than me,” he mumbles. “But I got a promotion first.”
You chuckle, trying to ignore the pressure behind your eyes as you watch him lose the battle to stay conscious. In this moment, you feel something that you’ve never experienced before. All the teasing, and the competition to stay close to Tim, were different than this. The care you show him now helps you to see him differently.
Similarly, though his thoughts are jumbled in a mix of pain and adrenaline, Tim sees you as he never has before. Your soft touches, apologies, and clear care and concern for him awaken something in him. Maybe it’s been sleeping or maybe it wasn’t there before today, but Tim likes having you close like this.
“Promise me something,” you whisper. “When we get out of this, we’ll know that we both won.”
Tim nods, and you carefully remove your hand from his. With your gun, plus the one Tim used to kill Cody’s goon, you climb out of the window to get Tim help and the first aid kit from your shop. He knows you’re a good cop, but without you by his side, he can’t take the pain and the worry together, and he finally succumbs to the darkness again.
Tumblr media
“I feel fine!” Tim argues with the nurse. “I can go home. There’s no reason to keep me here.”
“The doctors want to observe you overnight to ensure there’s no long-term damage, Officer Bradford,” she replies. “If you stop complaining, it will go faster.”
You knock on the open door with a bag in your hand, and the nurse waves you inside before she leaves. Tim looks at you from his hospital bed, and you offer a small smile. In the minutes after you left Tim in the house, you called for backup, searched the house again, put another suspect in custody, and got into a one-on-one fight with the last one. Tim doesn’t know just how much you went through in those five minutes that you waited for more backup, and he doesn’t need to. All that matters is that he’s safe and is getting better.
“How are you?” you ask.
“Fine,” he answers, watching the bag in your hand.
“Yeah, it’s for you.”
You pass him the bag with his favorite food, a play-by-play of last night’s game, and a picture of Kojo from the dogsitter. As he looks through it, you decide to tell him what you stayed awake thinking about. You finished filing your report as the sun rose over LA, and then you spent the few hours before you could visit Tim thinking of only one thing.
“I think we should call a truce,” you suggest. “A lot has changed in the last twenty-four hours.”
“I don’t want a truce,” Tim answers quickly. “We push each other to be better. We need that.”
“Okay,” you say slowly. “Then what do we do? Because I can’t go back to just competing all the time, not after what happened.”
“What happened?”
“If you didn’t feel it, I can’t explain it to you, Tim,” you answer softly, wringing your fingers together.
“You want to be more than competitive friends?” Tim guesses.
You shrug, and he shakes his head.
“I won’t stop competing with you or-“
“Taking figurative shots at me?” you finish playfully. “Better than real shots. I’m fine with not changing that part of our relationship, Tim. Besides, you and I both know that our friends are nosy, and it would be awful if we just started being nice to each other.”
Tim nods, and after a moment, looks at you. He extends his hand toward you, and you happily take it.
“Would you like to go to dinner after I get out of here?” he asks.
“I’d love that. I’m also planning to pass you during the next promotion. Then you can call me Sergeant when you try to tell me you’re better than me.”
“We’ll see about that,” Tim responds. “But I get to pick where we go since I did win the last competition.”
“I saved your life!”
“But I found our guy.”
“Maybe we both won,” you remind him.
Tumblr media
A few weeks later, you kept your promise and now outrank Tim. Not for long, you assume, because he’s a great cop with a bright future, but for now it’s fun to remind him that you’re a Sergeant while he’s still an Officer. “Whoever makes the first arrest today gets to pick where we go on our date Saturday,” you say.
“Whatever you want, Sergeant,” Tim answers.
He tilts your chin gently before he kisses you. You sigh in contentment, happier than ever with Tim. When he releases you, you both climb out of his truck and walk toward the station.
“When I get a position on Metro, I get to say it first,” Tim says as he opens the door for you.
“That’s not fair!” you argue, blocking the doorway.
“If you’re scared that it’ll happen too soon, just say so,” Tim taunts.
“Fine,” you agree, offering your hand to shake.
He shakes your hand, then pulls you into a quick kiss.
“Have a nice day, Sergeant,” he calls as he walks away.
“You too, boot.”

Wandee Goodday: Act 1 Check In
I wanted to check in with this show at episode three for posterity. Coming out of the third episode, I was excited to talk about the inclusion of a 69 in a BL we all had pretty easy access to and what that meant for presentation of mutual pleasure between men in a genre that doesn’t often deal with that. I also had some thoughts about Wandee ignoring the significance of asking Yak to come out. I wasn’t alone, and eventually ran across @befuddledcinnamonroll ‘s post about where they stand with Dee at this time. I wanted to write some thoughts down about this character at episode 3 and save some other posts so I can see where we were a quarter of the way into the show for later.
Tumblr media
I’ve enjoyed Wandee as a character from the beginning. I like how much of a messy gay he is, and totally get why he’s a comfort character for @shortpplfedup. Still, Wandee is a legit mess. I noted back in episode 1 that he turned mean when he got rejected by Ter. We’ve had a great run with some classic tropes with his relationship with Yoryak (@troubled-mind), and we can tell that he takes his work as a doctor seriously ( @gaylittlepieceofsh1t).
Tumblr media
It’s just that, even with as much fun as we’re having following this character ( @happypotato48), we can’t help but notice that he’s not great with Yak’s boundaries. We’ve talked about how special Yak’s bisexuality feels in this show ( @yankeebastard). We’ve seen that Yak is pretty good about establishing and respecting boundaries ( @becauseimanicequeen), but Dee’s competitiveness ( @chicademartinica) is going to be a real issue in this show ( @ajchayapol), because Dee was way out of line ( @lurkingshan ) this episode with the way he trampled over Yak about coming out in a sports environment ( @djeterg19 ) as his fake boyfriend with no regard for how that would impact Yak ( @negrowhat ).
Tumblr media
However, like @twig-tea, I remain interested in what we have in store, and am especially curious about Oyei and Cher. I thought this third episode tied all of its scenes together really well, and even think there’s potential in Ter seemingly being uninterested in the doctor played by Emi who has also expressed interest in him. I’m excited to see where Dee and  Yak go after this, because Wandee lied and cheated with all he had to get Yak to agree to help him beat Ter, and we’ve already noted how Dee behaves to get what he wants (@respectthepetty ).
Tumblr media
Still, I’m really enjoying this show, and wanted to take a quick snapshot right here of how we’re feeling about Dee and Yak at what felt like the end of the first act. We know that Yak and Dee are actually decent to each other when Dee isn’t breaking the rules he already set, and we can tell plainly that Yak perhaps desires more than just a friend with benefits from Wandee. I’ll probably do another one of these posts after episode 6 and see where we are, because I really believe in the experience of episodic storytelling. I think it’s good for us to be clear about where Dee is now so that we can observe his changes in real time as the consequences of his actions blow up in his face. I am so ready for Yak to snatch that necklace, you have no idea.

Tiktok pranks w/ Emily
I saw someone else do stuff similar to this and I wanted to try it but with Emily, pls don’t take this as copying or wtv 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾😖😖😖
Calling Emily another girl’s name
You set up your phone in the kitchen as Emily’s back is turned, the phone is set to record and you make sure it’s hidden so she doesn’t spot it. Quickly smiling at the camera you pretend to be casual and silent for a second before speaking up.
“Hey, Ella- I mean Em can you pass me a bowl?” you mumble slightly to disguise the  “mistake”
Emily’s head whips around at breakneck speed and you fight the urge to laugh as you see the look on her face “Who?”
“You? Babe, who else”
“You said Ella, who the fuck is Ella?”
“I said Em pass me a bowl, so can you pass me a bowl?” you’re lips quiver as your composure and need to laugh heightens
“I literally just heard you call me Ella”
“Dude I didn’t and I just want my bowl so come on”
“I’m ‘dude’ now?”
“Ell- Emily I’m being serious I just want the stupid bowl for my cereal” you turn around to laugh, covering it with a cough
“You just fucking did it again!! You gotta be joking with me right now bruh, ain’t no way in hell…” Her voice raises in pitch and that’s what finally breaks you, you burst out laughing and grab your phone. Shoving it in her face as she quickly turns red from the embarrassment.
“I pranked your ass, I pranked your ass!” you laugh and sing song as you leave the kitchen.
“Fuckin’ whatever dude” she scoffs
“Oh so I’m dude now?” you mock her quickly in return then run up to her with your arms wide as a silent apology.
—————————————————————————
Calling Emily you’re friend to get her reaction
You have your phone propped up on your vanity mirror, bare faced and starting to film your GRWM (with a fun little prank in the middle)
Emily had just walked into frame as she’s already done getting ready before you, like always. She always has to make her presence known in your videos to keep the horny singles out of your comments.
“Alright everyone get ready with me! Today me and my friend,” you make it obvious as you point to Emily who’s head is down while she scrolls through her phone “are heading out to get some food and shop. Just like a cute little day outing”
Emily immediately takes notice to your wording instantly, her head pops up and she makes eye contact with you through your vanity mirror. Her face is caked with confusion “Hold on.. your frien-“
You cut her off to continue the prank “I was thinking of doing an OOTD before we go so I’ll probably show y’all my friends fit first then mine”
Her face only scrunches up further as you continue to talk “Who- who’s your friend?”
“Huh? Hold on, let me finish the video and we can go” you say over your shoulder then turn back to the camera, grabbing a curling iron and beginning to wrap your strands of hair around it “you guys have been commenting on where I got my curling iron from and it was actually a gift from my bestie back there-“
You get cut off as Emily storms up to your phone, snatching it from the vanity as the camera is still rolling “Don’t know what the hell she’s talking about, we are NOT friends. I am her girlfriend, her girlfriend that she has se-“
You chase after her and grab the phone before she can finish that sentence “Okay!! Prank worked, by people” and quickly swipe from TikTok.
You’re pissing your pants laughing as you turn to look at Emily who doesn’t look as tickled as you.
You pout and exaggerate your puppy eyes, opening your arms for a hug “I’m sowy my wittle baby, don’t cwy”
She rolls her eyes “I’m leaving without you”
————————————————————————-
hope you guys enjoyed!! this is the start of a few fics and hcs that i’m dropping right after this so look forward 🫡🤞🏾

.
The week had been beyond stressful for everyone. Everyone was constantly in shoots from 7am-7pm, working nonstop. There were photoshoots going on, video shoots, announcements going up for different kinds of merch, literally everything you could think of. It was finally Friday and a few people from the office decided to go out to this bar, that is near the office. Erin, Chance, Angela, Courtney, Spencer, Trevor, Arasha, Shayne, and Y/N all stood on a sidewalk, waiting to enter the bar.
“Is she coming or not?” Chance asked looking around at everyone.
Amanda had agreed to come as well but somehow disappeared before anyone had the chance to talk to her.
“I’m not sure, shoot her a text and ask.” Angela said looking over at Chance, who stood between Trevor and Shayne.
“Actually, don’t. I just got a text from her.” Courtney said giggling and holding her phone up. “She says, “Have a great night. Sorry for disappearing but I was ready to get home, get my ass in bed in comfortable pjs, drink some wine, and watch this new true crime documentary I found.” She also sent this picture.” Courtney holds up phone up for everyone to see and everyone just laughs and shakes their head at Courtney. It was a photo of Amanda sitting in bed with a huge wine glass, looking like that stereotypical aunt that is the drunk at family get togethers.
“Hey, Y/N. It looks like you don’t have any competition tonight.” Erin mumbled in your direction while elbowing you and wiggling her eyebrows.
“What do you mean?” You ask confused.
Everyone looked in your direction and just chuckled. “Amanda is always going on about how attractive Spencer is. Now, you can take her place for the night and tell him yourself.” Erin said, shrugging her shoulders and stepped into the bar with everyone following.
You just tried to brush her comment off but the end of her sentence really stuck with you. “You can just tell him yourself.” Something about Spencer really is hitting differently tonight. He isn’t wearing a hoodie for once. He was wearing a striped short sleeve with a jean jacket and corduroy pants. He always looks adorable whenever he’s wearing comfortable clothing but he just looks really hot tonight.
Everyone grabbed drinks from the bar then split up. Erin, Chance, Angela, and Courtney took shots then ran to the dance floor while Shayne, Spencer, Trevor, Arasha, and you grabbed a table over to the side.
“I just realized, I don’t think I have ever seen you drunk before, Y/N.” Arasha said while watching you take a sip of your margarita. “You’re like the shy, reserved type.”
You laughed for a second and shook your head, “That’s a good thing though. I’m a hot mess whenever I’m drunk.”
Spencer immediately jumps into the conversation, “You’re always a hot mess.” He stopped for a minute and just stared at you. “That was supposed to be a compliment or like, you know, calling you hot. I realize though that it comes off as an insult.”
Everyone, including you, lost it over Spencer sticking his foot in his mouth. “I didn’t take it rudely. I guess I know what you mean.” You snorted and took another sip of your margarita. “You’re a hot mess yourself.”
Shayne, Trevor, and Arasha got into their own little conversation, so Spencer turned a little to face you. “I’m shocked you aren’t over there with Erin and Courtney. I’ve noticed in the past you’re always glued to their sides whenever we’ve gone out.”
“As Erin said, I gotta be right here, making sure to constantly just remind you how hot you are.” You said nonchalantly and taking a drink while trying to not smile.
Spencer’s face got red but you didn’t comment on it, you just found it kind of odd. “I mean, I definitely am not complaining if it’s coming from you.”
There was some kind of weird tension in the air between the two of you but you didn’t think twice about it. You were both a little tipsy, so it was probably just the drinks.. right?
You could hear feet come running up beside you and felt hands on your bicep. “Y/N, you have to walk outside with me, Angela, and Erin. We need fresh air but we don’t want to walk outside alooooone.” Courtney whine from beside you.
You just laughed and stood up. “Well, Mr. Agnew, sorry to cut our conversation short but it looks like I have to go for a minute.”
Spencer looks at you dead serious and in the chosen voice says, “I hate to watch you go but love to watch you leave.”
Courtney started giggling like crazy and started pulling you towards to door to walk outside, where Angela and Erin were standing. The four of you walk outside and sit on these two benches that were off to the side of the building.
“So, what was that in there?” Erin asked giving you a suggestive look.
You looked at the group confused. “What was what?”
“Y/N, don’t act dumb dude.” Angela said then chuckled loudly. “You know exactly what she’s talking about.”
“I was just having a conversation with Spencer.” You said looking around and avoiding their looks.
“I was just having a conversation with Spencer.” Courtney said in a mocking tone, “You looked like you were practically drooling over him and he was staring at you hard.”
You sat in silence for a minute debating on to comment on it or not but then decided fuck it, the guys aren’t around. This is your opportunity to just talk about it.
“Okay, I might have some feelings for him.” You mumbled covering your face, “I don’t want to talk about it thought because I know he doesn’t feel the same.” You got up from the bench and started pacing.
“What do you mean he doesn’t feel like the same?” Erin asked and was looking at you as if you had two heads.
You stopped in front of the bench, facing the three in front of you. “He totally doesn’t feel the same. He only sees me as a friend.” You paused for a second again before deciding to just spill it all. “Guys, I have it fucking bad. Anytime I come into work, I’m always so excited to just talk to him. I feel like a little schoolgirl with a crush. I always want to be around him. He makes me feel so safe and never makes me feel stupid whenever I go on my hyper-fixation rambles. He’s just so fucking attractive, it gets under my skin. His stupid curly hair that I just want to run my fingers through. Don’t even get me started on his hugs. Anytime he has given me a hug, I just want to stand there in his arms forever. He always smells so good too. I know there’s a running bit that he smells like death sometimes but he has never smelt bad. Oh my god and don’t even get me started on..” You quit rambling realizing all three of the women in front of you look like they’re about to throw up and that’s whenever you feel like there’s someone standing right behind you.
“He’s right behind me, isn’t he?” You asked, quoting the meme.
“Uh, let’s walk in guys. I’m getting a bit cold.” Erin said standing up alongside Courtney and Angela.
You slowly turned around to face Spencer. “Heeeeey.” You said in defeat and just flopped down on the bench.
“Hey, sorry. If I knew you were confessing your undying love for someone, I would’ve just waited before coming over here.” Spencer said while shrugging his shoulders and sitting down beside you.
“Ha ha, very funny.” You responded glaring at the guy beside you. “You don’t have to act like you don’t know that I was talking about you.”
Spencer looked at you shocked for a minute then just laughed, “Wait, so your whole little confession thing was about me?”
“What all did you hear?” You asked putting your head in your hands.
“I’m not gonna lie, I did figure out it was me whenever you mentioned my ‘curly hair’ and the running bit that Shayne and Amanda joke about on the podcast, about me smelling like death.” He says sinking down a little in his bench.
You turned a little in the bench to face him and just started rambling, “I’m so sorry if it made you uncomfortable. I completely understand if you don’t want to be friends anymore or be around me. Erin just asked me and I just broke and started talking about all of the things-“
Spencer cut you off, “I don’t want to be friends anymore.”
You could feel your heart sinking and you immediately got sick to your stomach till you noticed the smile on his face.
You couldn’t focus on what he was saying because all you could think about is why is he smiling? He hates you now, doesn’t he? He’s never going to trust you again. Your thoughts were cut off by something warm on your face and that’s whenever you snapped out of it. You come to it and realize Spencer has his palms, holding your face.
“You didn’t hear one word I just said, did you?” Spencer asked laughing at you and squishing your face a little in the process.
You shook your head no slowly since his hands were holding your face.
He didn’t say anything. He just leaned forward and pressed his lips on yours. It was like everything froze in that moment.
It took a moment for you to process what had just happened before you leaned forward again and kissed him again quickly.
“Wait, so you do feel the same way?” You asked, staring at Spencer like a child who just found out they were going to Disney World.
“No, I just kiss my friends after they confess their feelings. Of course I do, you dork. We can talk all of this out tomorrow whenever we’re sober alright. Let’s just head back inside and get plastered. Deal?” Spencer said while standing up and offering you his hand.
“Deal, it is quite cold out here.” You responded taking his hand.
He let go of your hand for a moment to take his jean jacket off. He holds his jean jacket out to you and gets this shit eating grin on his face.
“Here, you can wear this. I was getting kind of hot anyways. You can smell it all night since you apparently like to be a little weirdo and smell me.” He says trying to not laugh.
“That’s not what I meant!” You got defensive and tried to explain yourself before you noticed Spencer was silently laughing to himself.
“I was teasing you. Now, let’s head back inside and get bullied by everyone for finally not being wimps and admitting our feelings.”

BY NECESSITY #1 SATURN IN PISCES
Hi babies, what’s up? You thought I forgot about you?
Well, you’re right, I did. But I’m back, bitches - at least for today - to remind you that astrology is still the shit. So, before I ghost again, let’s talk. This week it’s a Saturn in Pisces special.
Now, before you’re like, “Are you kidding? This bitch comes back after how long to talk about some random ass placement that doesn’t even apply to me? Ugh.” Just take a breath. Saturn is in Pisces. Right now. In the sky. So even if you’re not getting extra fucked like all the people having their Saturn Return, you’re still experiencing the energy and all the shit I’m about to say still applies to you.
Alright. First, let’s talk Saturn. Saturn is all about form. It’s foundations, it’s structure, it’s hard, it’s the shit you stand on that you forget you’re standing on (until a transit happens and forces you to look down in ice cold terror). It’s important to remember that Saturn deals with all foundations - which foundation (physical, mental, etc.) depends on which sign you’re working with. When Pisces gets involved, you’re dealing with your psychological, emotional foundation.
Next, Pisces. Pisces is about all dissolution. Pisces is last in line for a reason. All the shit you absorbed during your little life cycle - collective beliefs and ideals, definitions of success, definitions of failure, the shit your parents believed, the shit their parents believed, etc. - someone needs to dissolve all that loud biz (cue Pisces) so you can get back in touch with the real true you (cue Aries). Pisces is on that transcendental shit - it’s here to elevate you, it’s fucking your foundations up in a beautifully painful liquidation process, as in we’re closing everything has got to go this business is over forever goodbye we’re done.
When you put these two together and you get a fucking shit show. Hardening and dissolving? Opposites. Pisces is like “yes I’m here to love you forget you ever had a structure all of this is meaningless it’s time blend in the timeless space of forgiveness we’ll feel it all and understand the origin of life the mystery of life heart eyes” and Saturn is like “Look at your life! Build something! Be accountable! These are your limits - learn them! Wake up! You dropped your spine! Go pick it up! But also good luck bending over to pick it up because you don’t have a spine! Ha!”
It doesn’t take eyes to see that Saturn is not comfy in Pisces. And it’s true, Pisces and Saturn do bring very different shit to the party. But relationships are raw materials, babies, it’s what you make with them that matters.
Saturn and Pisces, together, create an opportunity for you to give your psychological, emotional foundation a fucking upgrade. Pisces helps you dissolve the fake ass bull shit persona you’ve been passing off as a self, and Saturn helps you reform into a person who, you know, you’re actually happy to be - a person with a psychological foundation based on inner-truth, not on societal/cultural/ancestral rules and regulations. Bitch, you’re a treasure! You’re a beautiful unique person, not a robot! If you wanted to be all copy paste should have reincarnated as a keyboard smh. Wake up.
Saturn in Pisces is a call to transform yourself on a spiritual level. The deepest level. (Deeper than you Scorpio sorry.) This isn’t some find a new job, find a new hobby bull shit. This is deep unconscious reconditioning. This is scary, triggering shit. You thought Pisces was out here just blending in the gooey goodness of love? Please. Think about what dissolution actually means. You want to be psychologically free? You want to scrub your karma? Get in touch with your essence? Lol. Girl. Get ready. This transformation process is a gnarly, confusing, and, most importantly, it takes time (thanks, Saturn). Just can’t rush it.
Alright, before you get too scared to continue, let me say it one more time for the people in the back: When Saturn is in Pisces, the unconscious, emotional (Pisces) foundation (Saturn) of your life stops being hidden. Material that was collecting dust (and power) in your unconscious (Pisces) is suddenly visible (Saturn). Surprise, bitch! Time to take a look.
Okay. Now, what happens when you’re confronted with your very own subconscious (Pisces) scaffolding (Saturn)? Well, two options:
(1) You lose perspective and collapse the transformation process before it has time to do its thing, dissolving your sense of self (Pisces) and hardening around rigid beliefs (Saturn) to bring yourself back to a superficial sense of safety, making your life temporarily more stable and comfy but ten million times harder to confront your psychological foundation at the next opportunity.
(2) You stay focused on the big picture and face your fears, dissolving the toxic beliefs you were unconsciously building your life on (Pisces) and reforming your identity (Saturn) into something real and true, making your life temporarily more lonely and difficult but ten million times easier to relate to yourself and others forever and ever amen.
“Uh wtf who would pick option one?” You, me, anyone allowing themselves to actually feel the crippling existential dread of having to face the unknown (Pisces) or anyone who can’t bear the thought of looking critically at their inherited beliefs (Saturn). It’s not an opportunity for the faint of heart. Or for anyone who doesn’t have, at the very least, one friend. And not some moralizing “forgiveness heals all wounds hang in there” type of friend - I’m talking some real ass, truth staring ass, love you anyways bitch.
So, why did I return from the underworld to tell you this shit now? Because Saturn is only halfway through it’s uncomfortable stay on the Pisces commune. Listen - if you’re starting to feel crazy, like (1) “I swear some shit must be up I just cannot catch a break from feeling like living shit” and (2) “why does the same shit continue to happen to me over and over again like fuck I thought I got over this shit in 1933” it’s because (1) you’re being called to transform and transformation is an active process time to stop being dragged around use you legs and (2) part of this particular transformation process is acknowledging that you did not leave any shit in 1933 and you’ve actually been dragging that ugly shit around in your unconscious and it’s secretly been controlling every decision you’ve made since then. Sorry.
“Ugh, can I just close my eyes and open them when this whack ass transit is over?” Sure. They’re your eyes, babe. But, just between you and me, why would you want to do that? This is a wonderfully unique time to face the truth (Saturn) and give yourself compassion and grace (Pisces), so that you can, oh, I don’t know, turn this car around before you and your unconscious Thelma and Louise yourselves. For a limited time only - the lights are on! There is no better time to look at this shit. The cosmic support is here. Right now. Let these lunar lovelies carry you through.
The key to navigating this transit successfully (and consciously), is to pay attention to what you’re dissolving, and what you’re hardening around. Be suspicious about the shit you take for granted emotionally - investigate that foundation - ask yourself: Where did this shit even come from? Is this the psychological foundation I want to perpetuate? Don’t keep trying to wrap yourself back up in that shed skin, babies, it’s not a good look. Embrace the rawness.
The energies are active, the pressure is there, but if you open yourself to working with the energy of the times instead of just closing your eyes and hoping for the best, you can completely transform your life over the next 12 months. No joke. No exaggeration.
Until we meet again, bitches, happy charting.

Behind the Scenes pt 1
Tumblr media
Master List
Minors DNI 18+
Warnings: anxiety, things heat up a little, language, not really-but light petting/smutish
A/N: You are newly hired on Supernatural. Your character was supposed to be a one and done but the fans loved you so they wrote you in the story. You were supposed to play Sam’s love interest, but things get complicated when you fall for someone behind the scenes. This is a work of fiction. No disrespect to Jensen or Jared or their families. *kinda a long chapter, just wanted to set up the story*
I edited this fast- please forgive any mistakes
This is my original work, do not take it.
✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨
As you drove to the studio on your first day you were so nervous. You had been a fan of Supernatural for years and here you were getting ready to play a small part on this amazing show. You already knew your character was only going to appear in a few episodes but you didn’t care. You were excited to work with Jared, Misha and of course Jensen.
You pulled up to the gate and showed the security guard your ID. They welcomed you and told you where to park. When you pulled in the parking lot there was a man waiting for you. “Hey, you must be Y/N. I’m Carter and I’m a PA on the set. I’ll be helping you and showing you around.” He said extending his hand to you. “Hey, Carter. It’s really nice to meet you. Thanks. I’m a bit nervous.” You admitted. He smiled and told you not to be that everyone was so welcoming.
The two of you walked into a large building and were greeted by some other people. They were excited to see you. Someone handed you a script and told you this was the latest copy of what you were shooting today. Carter walked you to the hair/make up trailer and told you he’d be back with your wardrobe.
You walked in the trailer and Carter introduced you to the women in there. They were very sweet and welcoming. You sat in the first chair and the woman, Sarah started doing your makeup for your first scene. There was a loud sound from behind you and Sarah and the other woman, Cheyenne looked at each other and said “Uhoh. Here comes trouble” and laughed. You watched in the mirror as the door opened and saw Jared and Jensen walk in.
You sat still and instantly got nervous. The guys walked in and hugged Sarah and Cheyenne then their attention turned to you. Jared was first to speak. “You must be Y/N. It’s great to finally meet you.” He extended his hand. “I’d give you a hug but I see you’re busy” he said. “It’s nice to meet you too Jared. I’m looking forward to working with you.” You said offering a smile. Jensen stepped forward and his green eyes sparkled as he said hello. You smiled and said hello back. He extended his hand to shake yours and he held on a little longer than usual. Jared cleared his throat and Jensen let go.
You blushed as you looked away. Sarah finished with your makeup and Cheyenne asked you to come sit in her chair. You sat down and noticed Jensen watching you from the couch. Jared climbed in Sarah’s chair to get ready for the scene. Jensen sat watching every move you made and hung on every word you said.
“So Y/N, seems like our first scene together is today. Are you excited?”Jared asked. “Yeah. I read the rewrite this morning so I think I’m ready. I did read we had to kiss. Are you okay with that, what about your wife” You asked. “Yeah I’m good and so is she. Are you comfortable with it. We don’t have to do that scene today if you need more time” he said. “No, I’m okay. I just wanted to make sure you’re comfortable. You’re the one married.” You answered. Jared stood up and walked over to you and took your hand. “Hey, it’s okay. I appreciate your concern. It’s actually refreshing to have someone concerned about me and my family.”
Jensen smiled. He couldn’t help but smile at your genuine concern. You stood up and grabbed your clothes. “Thanks ladies. I look amazing” you said as you started to leave. They hugged you and smiled. Jared gave you a hug and told you he’d see you on set. Jensen just stood and smiled. You smiled at him and left heading towards your trailer.
You found your trailer and it was between Jensen’s and Jared’s. You smiled as you walked it. Your trailer was beautiful and had so many amenities. You changed into your wardrobe and grabbed the script. You sat on your couch reading over it.
Jensen and Jared were sitting in the hair and makeup trailer getting ready for their scenes. “Hey Jens, you okay man. You’ve been really quiet this morning” Jared nudged him. “Huh, oh yeah. Just thinking and getting my head in the game.” Jensen replied. “Hmm, okay man. Whatever you say” Jared smirked.
Carter knocked on your door and said they needed you on set. You walked out with him and arrived on the massive set. Everyone was excited to finally meet you and the director came over and introduced himself. You saw Jared and Jensen already on set and Jared walked over grabbing you into a big hug. Jensen still stood to the side. You were starting to wonder what you did that made him act like he was.
“Hey Y/N, you okay” Jared asked. “Yeah, just not sure if I upset Jensen or something. He hasn’t really spoken to me. Did I take this role from somebody he knows” you asked. “Oh no, I’m not sure what’s wrong with him, but I know you didn’t do anything wrong.” He said.
The director called for places and you, Jared and Jensen all got into your spots. “Action” the director called out. Jared crossed the room and began the dialogue. Jensen was in character too. Your character was a young woman who the brothers saved from a vampire nest. You were grateful for the rescue so you kiss Sam. After some retakes it was time to shoot the kissing scene. Before action was called Jared asked if you were ready and you shook your head.
“Sam I have no idea how to thank you. I honestly thought I was going to die. Thank you” you said as you stood on your toes and kissed him. He deepened the kiss and you melted in his arms. “And cut, that’s a wrap for the day everyone. Remember we have an early call tomorrow.” you heard the director say. Jared helped you stand and squeezed your arm. “You did great, Y/N”. He said with a smile. You thanked him and started to leave the set.
You walked to your trailer and sat down for a minute. You felt like your first day went really good but you couldn’t shake the feeling you did something to upset Jensen.
You tried to brush it off but you couldn’t figure it out. You stood up and headed for the shower. You carefully took off your clothes and placed them on the bed. You jumped in the shower and were amazed by the shower pressure. Once you were done you put on some comfy clothes and laid on the couch. You decided since you had an early call you’d just spend the night in your trailer.
You turned on the television and put on some random show for background noise. You scrolled through social media and saw you had some new friend requests from the cast and crew. Your heart leaped when you saw one from Jensen. There was a soft knock on the door. You stood up and opened the door to see Jensen standing there. You smiled and he smiled back. “Hey Y/N, can I come in” he asked. You stepped to the side and nodded.
When he walked past, you smelled his cologne and it was intoxicating. He sat down on the couch and you sat beside him. “So, what’s on your mind Jensen” you asked. “I wanted to apologize if I came across as rude today. That wasn’t my intention. If I’m being honest I was kind of in awe of you. I couldn’t find the words” he confessed. “You were in awe of me” you asked. “Yeah, you were genuinely concerned about Jared and Gen and how they were going to handle the kissing scene. I’ve never met anyone like you. And you’re really beautiful” Jensen admitted. You smiled and blushed. “Thank you, Jensen. That means a lot to me.”
“So how did you feel about your first day and kissing that moose” Jensen chuckled. “I think it went pretty good. It was difficult standing on my toes trying to kiss him, he’s so dang tall. How does Gen do it.” You laughed. “Maybe next time we should be sitting.”
Something in the air changed. It felt like the room was filled with an electric charge. Jensen locked eyes with you and you couldn’t look away. His hand brushed against your face to slide a stray hair behind your ear. You leaned into his touch. His hand slowly brushed your cheek and as his hand slid down to your chin fire erupted on your skin. Jensen lifted your chin and leaned in. You leaned forward into his space. You could smell his woodsy cologne and mint gum. It was intoxicating.
The two of you were inches apart and all you could hear was the sound of your heart pounding in your ears. Your breath hitched as Jensen’s lips were inches from yours. Your hot breath mingling with his. He whispers “can I kiss you?” Words failed you. All you were able to do was nod yes. His lips fell on yours and you melted. The kiss was soft and sweet. You felt Jensen run his fingers into your hair and he pulled you closer deepening the kiss. His tongue ran across your lips asking for entry. You parted your lips and your tongues began an intricate dance of dominance. You moaned into his mouth and he smiled. As the kiss continued your hands ran over each other’s bodies.
When you two pulled away to catch your breath you both were panting. You’ve deemed about kissing him for years, but this was so much better than any fantasy you’ve had. You looked at Jensen and smiled. He ran his hands through his hair and bit his lip. “Um, I uh should go” he said as he stood. You were shocked. What the hell just happened. “Oh, yeah okay. I uh need to sleep too. We have an early call” you said trying to hold back emotions.
Jensen looked at you and you swear he was about to say something but he turned and walked towards the door. You stood there dumbfounded. As his hand grabbed the door he whispered “good night Y/N” then left. You stood there with your fingers on your lips feeling the ghost of his kiss.
Jensen went to his trailer and sat on the couch with his head in his hands. He couldn’t believe he kissed you. He wanted to but damn you just started and he didn’t want to screw anything up. He let out a frustrated sigh and climbed into his bed. He stared at the ceiling thinking about you and how he hopes he didn’t screw anything up.
You crawled into your bed and stared at the ceiling too. Playing over and over again the kiss and how he felt in your arms. Why did he kiss you and then leave so quickly. He’d been acting strange all day and this was your first day. How would the rest of the shooting days go. Ugh! You sighed loudly and stared at the ceiling until exhaustion took over.
Jensen sent Jared a text:
Jensen: Jared I screwed up. I kissed her
Jared: you kissed who? Y/N?
Jensen: Yeah. I went to apologize for being rude and I swear I was pulled to her like a magnet. I don’t know what came over me. Then I stood up and left like a fucking coward.
Jared: Damn man, sounds like you’ve got it bad. Please fix this before it gets bad. She’s great and I think she’s going to be great for the show. I’m all for you being with her, but damn dude. The first day?!?!
Jensen: Yeah I know. I guess I should talk to her tomorrow. It’s too late. I’m sure she’s asleep.
Jared: take her coffee in the morning and talk to her. Night man
Jensen: great idea. Night.
Your alarm went off early and you groaned as you turned it off. You set your alarm early so you had time to shower, grab some breakfast and relax before heading to set. You knew craft service was there early so you didn’t have to go far for breakfast. You jumped in the shower and got dressed. As you’re brushing your hair you hear a soft knock on the door. “Just a second” you said as you walked to the door.
You opened the door to see Jensen standing there with coffee and a hesitant smile. You looked at him and stepped to the side. Letting him come in. “Hey Y/N, I wanted to talk to you about last night.” He said hesitantly. You motioned to the couch and you both sat down. “I got you a coffee. Figured you’d need one with such an early morning.” “Thank you, Jensen. I didn’t sleep well so this means a lot.” You said taking the coffee.
“So what did you want to talk about” you asked nervously. “I wanted to apologize for leaving like I did last night. There isn’t a good reason for why I did that. I have to tell you from the moment I saw you I was drawn to you. Then I kissed you and what I felt scared the hell out of me. I just met you and I want you to be mine. I want to get to know you and see where this leads” Jensen said taking your hand.
You smiled and said “I’d like that too, Jensen. When you kissed me last night it was a dream come true. I feel drawn to you too, but I’m scared. You’re Jensen Ackles and could have any woman you wanted. When you kissed me I thought it was a dream I didn’t want to wake up from. I’m willing to take this slow if you want to.”
“Yes, Y/N. I want to, I want you. Let’s take it slow and see where this leads. We should keep this between us for now. I don’t want too many opinions in this relationship. Jared kinda knows I like you and I kissed you, but that’s it.” Jensen said.
“Okay. Let’s take it slow and keep it between us for now.” You smiled. He leaned in and whispered “I can’t stop thinking about that kiss. Can I kiss you again?” You smiled and nodded yes. Jensen ran his fingers in your hair and pulled you closer. His lips landed on yours in a soft kiss. Your tongue licked his lips asking for entry and he parted his lips. You both deepened the kiss and it grew passionate. His hands were running down your body and your hands found his hair. Moans left your mouth as his hands brushed against your breasts. Jensen pulled you into his lap as he kissed you. Your legs straddling his lap and your heat feeling his growing bulge.
Jensen shifted and his hardness pushed into you. He groaned and so did you. God he felt so big. You both pulled away panting for air and your cheeks flushed with desire. There is no fucking way you two are going to be able to take this slow with his body being so damn gorgeous. You bit your lower lip and pushed off of him and stood.
“We need to stop Jensen. I’m not sure I can control myself if we continue.” Your voice dripping with desire. “Yeah, I know. I’d love to see what’s under that shirt and in those jeans.” He practically growled. “Damn, Ackles. You can’t say stuff like that to me before I shoot a make out scene with Jared” you laughed. He chuckled but there was something behind it. You weren’t sure what it was.
He kissed you one last time and you thanked him for the coffee. He left and you went to grab some food before heading to makeup and hair. Jared was sitting at the table eating and he stood up when he saw you. “Hey Y/N, how’d you sleep” he asked pulling you into a hug. “Okay, not the best but I had things on my mind” you said. “Yeah. Hopefully he got his head out of his ass” Jared whispered as he nudged you. You shook your head yes as you smiled.
The day went by pretty quickly. The scenes you shot with the guys were pretty easy. As the day progressed you knew the make out scene was coming up. Jensen had been acting kinda weird this afternoon as the scene approached. You just brushed it off trying to focus on the scene.
“Okay, Jared and Y/N let’s get ready for your characters confession of their feelings and make out scene. You okay with that Y/N” the director asked. You shook your head yes. Jared wanted to make sure you were comfortable with every part of the scene and you told him you were.
You noticed Jensen standing off to the side behind the camera as you and Jared took your marks. “Quiet on set, and Action” the director yelled. “Hey Sam, I think we should talk” you said. “Yeah. I agree Lilah. I really want to see where this goes between us. I really like you and I think we could make it work” Sam said. “I think so too, Sam.” You said with a smile. He kissed you and ran his hands in your hair. You moaned into his kiss and his hands started to run up and down your body. Sam (Jared) pulled you down onto his lap and your legs straddled him. You couldn’t help but think about Jensen in that moment. You stiffened and Jared leaned forward and whispered into your ear if you were okay. You whispered yes back. Jared started kissing you as you moaned Sam’s name and he moaned Lilah’s. He removed your shirt and kissed down your body.
Your back was to the camera so you didn’t see Jensen’s jaw clenching. He was getting angry seeing his best friend kissing and making out with you. He kept telling himself it was your characters not you but it wasn’t helping. He stormed out of the room. Not long after the direct called cut. Jared helped you grab your shirt and stand up.
“Great take guys. That’s a wrap for today” the director said. “Hey Jared, where did Jensen go” you asked. “Hmm maybe his trailer” he said. You walked towards your trailer to change and as you got to your door Jensen’s trailer door flung open. You jumped and looked at him. He looked pissed. “Hey Jensen, you okay” you asked. “No I’m not” he practically growled and kept walking. “Jensen, what’s wrong. Did I do something” you asked trying to get him to stop. “Look, I like you, but I’m not sure this is going to work out.” He said as he kept walking. You stood completely shocked. You then went after him. “Jensen, stop. Talk to me. It wasn’t even a few hours ago you said you wanted to see where this thing went and now you’re throwing in the towel. What the hell happened” you demanded. He looked at you scoffed and climbed in his car driving off.
Wow, okay. You thought. Fuck this you said and walked to your trailer. You changed and left the set for the day. You had a few days off before your next call day. So you decided to head back to your apartment. Hopefully you’d get some answers soon.

i feel like i’ve been WAITING for the other shoe to drop wrt people’s opinions about watcher for this very reason. not that i think the reaction is completely not understandable but the greater the parasocial relationship, the greater the fallout as soon as public opinion shifts. you don’t have a relationship with these people they’re just content creators, chill
#ready to see all the people coming out of the woodwork to say how they’ve never liked watcher/unsolved/etc#and act like it’s ‘cringe’ now that their fanbase feels ‘betrayed’#it’s great to have a fanbase but parasocial relationships will bite you in the ass every single time#it’s interesting too though because i’ve seen watcher have a LOT of support as they’ve tried to build something separate from buzzfeed#so this is the first time they’re getting real pushback about a decision they’ve made wrt shifting their platform/expanding their brand#so ig we’ll have to see how they react moving forward#but it’s soooo interesting to see how enthusiastically people dump on buzzfeed#AND how many people dump on youtube and how over the years so much of its functionality has been stripped away#how many ads you have to sit through. how much sponsored content there is now. etc#but when they try to do the same thing with youtube that they did with buzzfeed it’s like how dare you not lick their boots#because if you lick their boots and we lick their boots we can watch stuff for free#anyway.#even if you don’t any to say it’s a bad business decision. it’s not like there’s not precedent for it#1) the move away from buzzfeed was successful and 2) what about the dnd shows or whatever#don’t you guys watch those dnd shows that are ‘behind a paywall’#don’t you guys have netflix hulu disney hbo amazon etc ad nauseum that are actually owned by billion dollar corporations#don’t you guys get on your high horses about supporting independent artists all the time#it’s interesting that people will profess to be such big fans!!! and feel like they’re friends!!!!#but how dare they think their work might be worth paying for#idk. idk. it’s entitlement though#sorry for the rant i’m ALSO not trying to blindly defend a bunch of people i don’t know#but you guys are being soooo fucking annoying about it lol#anyway i’m still waiting to see what their response is going to be from here before jumping to conclusions#also to be fair i am biased to be lenient about decisions made by independent filmmakers vs big studios etc#like everybody freaking out about the ai art used in late night with the devil. who cares honestly#‘they should’ve paid a real artist!!’ idk maybe their budget didn’t cover that#i don’t want it to become the industry norm but at the end of the day i would rather see indie shit getting made then only seeing#the big studios (who don’t have equitable practices anyway!!) making shit#but that’s another conversation. just to be transparent about my viewpoint on this kind of thing#maybe controversial but also can’t we have nuance. for once.

Tumblr media
First date? Probably just a classic dinner at a restaurant or homemade meal. I want to get all dolled up and they actually dress up too and we spend the time getting to know each other.
#perfect first date and perfect date in general would be different though#I’m a hopeless romantic so I have plentyyyyy date ideas 😂#the one that comes to my mind right now is a paintball date#(specially thinking of the scene in 10 things i hate about you)#but really???#truthfully?#I want them to plan a date by themselves and just tell me when to be ready for them to pick me up#i wouldn’t really care what we did#just the thought of having someone actually spend the time planning and getting a date together?#that would blow my mind tbh#i wanna say I’ve been on like 3ish ‘real’ dates and I’m pretty sure I had to decide for each of them#if you know me you know I HATE decisions#so I think having someone know that about me and decide for me and plan it all so I don’t have to lift a finger??#yeah that sounds like a dream#for the first date I like the idea of just a classic dinner date so then you can kinda feel out the vibes#if we can talk over dinner and constantly have something to talk about (no awkward dead silences) then I’m sure I’d have fun#doing anything else with them#** also I was trying to reply to this ask while I was at work but it didn’t go well 🤦🏽‍♀️#every single time I looked down at my phone or started typing something would happen in my yard#so I had to set my phone down and take care of it 🤦🏽‍♀️#only one more shift left and then I’m outta there 👌#lol this is all over the place I’m sorry#I don’t wanna go back and redo any of it tho so here we are 😂#I just really want to go on a date in general 😭😭😭#I want to flirt and blush and get swept off my feet 😤#thanks for the ask sweetheart 🩷#ask#lovely mutuals

I was talking the other day with people about how English doesn’t have deferential verb forms and stuff like many other languages do but how in English we still have hierarchical ways of speaking to each other. Obviously race class and gender play huge rolls. Also this is not universal but I notice that at least for me and most women around me that we talk to men in an extremely deferential way that men seem to take absolutely no notice of. I think most men that I interact with have literally no idea women speak to them differently than we do to each other. Even when things are not dangerous, like the other day I was talking to a random man in the grocery store and he was insisting that the Barbie movie already came out, and I know that’s just like factually not true but after he told me I was wrong I immediately agreed with him and continued with the conversation. Like I wasn’t scared of him I had no actual belief he would have hurt me in public because I insisted that the Barbie movie was not actually out yet lol. It was just the first reaction I had to placate him and agree verbally even though I knew it wasn’t true. And obviously it didn’t really matter in that interaction but I do this in my professional life, I do it when talking to strangers, and I even do it when I’m with friends even though I try hard to stop doing it then. It’s my tone of voice, it’s the literal words I say, and it’s even the body language. And it’s not a new idea that women make themselves smaller around men, many other people have said it before and more elegantly but idk crazy to me that so many men in the world don’t know we do this? Like this was also sparked by me working on some internal stuff with men and some white women I work under where I was angry because they seemed to be so dismissive of all the work I put into offering them deference and respect in our interactions and my friend literally had to tell me that they didn’t actually know I was doing that. that’s just how they think I am all the time and how they expect me to talk to them. Which, obviously lol but it was kinda jarring to realize in the moment.
#TO BE CLEAR I don’t think this is an innate thing#this is entirely a learned behavior#I think part of the problem is men not knowing but when I have told men in my life this I have not gotten a lot of positive listening back#lol#so I think as feminists we need to do the work of actively trying not to do this and for male feminists they need to be ready to be able to#be prepared to listen to that and actually speak to the women in their life as equals and not use their social power to demand subservience#again this is my experience but I do think many other women share this#but so often the men in my life demand subservience in subtle ways and this is one of them#but like it doesn’t need to be like this#also I think race plays a huge role#like being brown changes how I interact with people all the time and I’m sure it matters in everyone else’s lives too lol#but I do think white women do this too for men but their experience might be different or whatever in ways I don’t know#idk all a work in progress#ugh English is so limiting and is so focused on catagorization it’s hard to talk about this without it sounding like I’m placing a hierarchy#of other peoples privileges#which I’m not trying to do#life is very complicated and these catagoriyan are not real they are social#but idk I’m just trying to put my experience into words#also to be clear fuck TERFs#I feel like when u talk about feminism on thsi website two weird things happen#TERFs try and claim any feminist discussion as being a terf point…. which like ew no stay away#thsi has nothing to do with gender essentialism and I reject terf logic wholeheartedly#but also some people seems to be reactionary and say discussion of women’s oppression is TERFy??? which is also weird and stupid#terfs don’t own feminism they are a contradictory reactionary group trying to pretend that#but regardless of what idiots on the internet think we need to be able to speak openly about issues that hinder liberation#and this is a small example that I was just thinking about#feminism#my post
