listen I am an avid eBay shopper, mostly for comics and historical memorabilia/obscure items, but I fully do not understand the “best offer” button and the correlation to sellers. I’ve had offers turned down and then counteroffers turned down, and I’m literally asking for dollars off.
oh this item is listed at $25 or best offer? hmm it’s $4 shipping, so lemme offer $21 to see if they’ll let me take it all for $25.
declined. oh, okay. lemme offer $23 then.
declined. LIKE WHAT?! don’t allow best offer then… if you want to sell it for $25, stand firm at $25. like damn.
if there’s one thing ab me, I’m petty. I’m not gonna turn around and buy it for $25, unless it’s something I really have been looking for. like damn you lost me over $2.
this is my rant-if anyone could better explain to me the lore behind the best offer button I would genuinely love you because I just don’t get it. I can understand declining like $10+ below asking price but I don’t think $2-5 is unreasonable??
i miss crossword database maintenance day. hell, i miss crossword database maintenance weekend. unfortunately i let the weeds grow for so long that i am now faced with the prospect of crossword database maintenance month, in which each day i consider 40 suspect words from the wordlist and decide whether to reweight or remove them. today is day 4 and i've just started the Bs. it was nice knowing you.
