HEADKANONS MK1 - TRIO LIN KUEI + FRIEND!READER | SFW
TW: gn reader, sfw, headcanons in general, spoilers about mk1, platonic relationship, little angst.
˚。⋆.☆Do you want to make a request? Read my blog rules in the pinned post, comments and reblogs are welcome♡
A/N: I'm just used to writing smut things, but here's something softer. Maybe I'll do a part 2 after Bi Han's betrayal with his brothers and his reign of tyranny, what the relationships would be like, but just maybe.
Tumblr media
You were friends with all of them, since you were a teenager. The first to bestfriend you was Kuai Liang, he was always the most communicative of the trio of brothers - he saw you training with other newly arrived ninjas and decided to welcome you into the clan, you were friendly towards him, which Liang was Unaccustomed, he really liked you so he invited you to dinner at one of the local restaurants - perhaps Mrs. Bo's - You really didn't want to bother him, after all, he was the grand master's son but he was extremely simple and humble, even offering to pay for the meal, so you accepted.
When you got there you met the shy Tomas, sitting alone at a table and eating in silence, he got a little clumsy when he saw you - the poor boy had no social interaction skills, he still doesn't have any to this day - so he stays quiet, just watching you talk to the his brother but soon he starts to loosen up more, laughing and talking to you too - and the two of you become closer than you and Kuai -
Over time, you became so friendly with the two that you started visiting their house, meeting their father and mother and being welcomed as their son too, but Bi Han looked at you crookedly and coldly - as he did with everyone - however he began to see potential in you, a future ally and skilled ninja and also you miraculously made him laugh even if a little, it was the beginning of the three of you's friendship.
You train with Bi Han, and he goes hard on you not because he hates you but because he sees you as a future ally, even his right-hand man after you prove your loyalty to him - even more loyal than Kuai Liang - "-You have a lot of potential (Y/N) just don't fall." -Bi Han is serious, however, offering you his hand after knocking you to the ground in one blow, lifting you up and helping you shake off the dust from your body.
Kuai Liang likes to talk and ramble with you, he would sometimes skip class with you to stroll through the cherry blossom gardens or just practice fighting in other places - once Bi Han caught you two skipping class and almost killed you both, Kuai ran with you on his back across the roofs of the houses in the local village -
Tomas likes to sleep with you and this was a habit he got used to doing even after he was an adult - on the days you went to sleep at their house you always slept between Tomas and Kuai Liang, Bi Han would stay in a separate bed in the same room . Tomas hugged you tightly and the next thing you knew he was clinging to the ninja's arms with him accidentally suffocating you with his chest and Kuai sleeping crookedly next to you, drooling on the pillows and with his leg over you, accidentally - Bi Han also snores at night, meaning he gets used to the loud noise.
On summer days you played games... Not very conventional - one of them being you, Tomas, Liang and Bi Han on a calm day doing a mouth-watering challenge, whoever smiled first would pay for the other's dinner, you all got dirty of water because of Liang who tickled you, making everyone laugh and lose the challenge, the last one to laugh was Bi Han who was extremely competitive, but after being spat with water in the face by Kuai Liang, laughing and then doing an ice dagger to run after his brother - while you and Tomas watched Liang laugh as he ran from his older brother -
Speaking of competition, Bi Han likes to play fights with you, but please don't go any further, he is very competitive and will end up putting you in a headlock and really hurting you - without meaning to -
On missions, everyone will be super protective of you, especially Tomas and Bi Han, in different ways. Tomas wants you 100% safe, without a scratch even if it's impossible sometimes. "-You're my best friend, I don't want you to get hurt (Y/N)." -Vrbada spoke worriedly as he followed you with his brothers.
But unlike his younger brother, Bi Han liked to see you in challenges, obviously he cared about you but he knew that evolution came from competitions. "-You are my best ninja and... Friend, come back alive (Y/N) I know that you are capable of many great feats, because I trained you." -Bi Han spoke seriously and arrogantly as always, but with a little concern in his dark irises, a reminder from him for you to return alive to the Liu Kuei clan and into his arms.
You, Tomas and Kuai wear friendship bracelets, the bracelet was made of strong fabric with the colors yellow, gray and blue mixed. The only one who didn't wear it was Bi Han - but he kept the bracelet in his pocket, he always put his hand in his pocket and brushed his fingertips against the accessory, smiling slightly behind the sub zero mask, it was good to know that he and his brothers They had you as a friend.
One day, when you and Kuai had no training he let you touch his hair, ending up with Liang with two braids in his hair, Tomas also wanted to do it but his hair was too short to style.
"-You can't do it on mine because it's too short?:(" -Tomas said sadly as he lowered his shoulders in defeat - he let his hair grow after that, just so you could style it - Bi Han said that was nonsense , but soon ended the day with two braids raised with colorful clips, arms crossed and sighing "-I'm only doing this because (Y/N) insisted a lot" -He said, looking at himself in the mirror irritated, it was a lie, he himself had offered to be your hairstyle "model".
You and Kuai had a game of slapping each other's asses, but one fine day, you confused which ass you were going to hit by slapping Bi Han's ass hard - he was on his back and wearing neutral clothes, you saw his round ass and gave a hard slap, soon seeing Bi Han jump and look at you with a murderous look, you had to use all your skills to run away at full speed to escape the grand master's attack, then you only came back at the end of the day seeing Bi Han with an ice complex on his ass. -
"-YOU WILL PAY ME (Y/N)!!!" *starts saying something about being the grand master and needing to be respected and about the honor of the Liu Kuei, typical boring talk from Bi Han* -He shouted pointing to you while Kuai Liang walked in between the two of you, trying not to smile, while Tomas was practically laughing, crying with laughter while Bi Han was still holding the ice on his ass.
(Y/N): "-Pikmin:3"
Bi Han : "-I'LL BREAK YOU (Y/N) I'LL DESTROY YOU I'LL-"
(Y/N): "-Pikmin:3"
When you had a birthday, everyone gave you a gift. Tomas gave you a little letter about how important you were to him, with some detailed drawings of the two of you together - Vrbada knows how to draw very well, with his favorite pastime being drawing you or the two of you together. "-I hope you know how important it is to me (Y/N)." -Tomas said while smiling, giving you a chaste kiss on the cheek, blushing to see that you were moved by his letter.
Kuai presented you with an outfit that you had wanted for a long time, a fine fabric from the best store in the village and the best seamstress of the Liu Kuei clan, it was fabrics in your favorite color, a luxurious and soft silk. "-I knew you had your eye on this outfit, so I decided to buy it for you (Y/N), I hope you like it, it will look beautiful on you." -Liang speaks with a soft voice and a smile, ruffling your hair.
Bi Han pretends not to remember that it's your birthday but obviously he does, he's a serious man and cares about you - so, when everyone goes to sleep he calls you into his living room giving you a custom-made and personalized katana, with purple blade and your name engraved, along with a phrase: "From: Grandmaster Bi Han, To: (Y/N) (L/N)". - you are extremely happy as you saw Bi Han cross his arms and also smile a little. "-This is a useful gift for you (Y/N), which will remind you how important you are to the Liu Kuei clan." -He speaks in a confident and happier voice, as he walks towards you, placing a hand on your shoulder "-And important for me too, happy birthday little one." -Bi Han gestures with his head, while smiling, it was one of the few times he showed feelings, on your birthday.
Every time you see a kitten in the windows of the tallest houses, Tomas will help you pet them, easily lifting you on his shoulders while Kuai and Bi Han watch, Kuai would laugh at the cute moment while Bi Han would say "-that was silly." but deep down I also thought it was adorable, even if I would never admit it out loud.
One time Bi Han saw you, Tomas and Kuai watching some random cartoon on television, rolling his eyes while giving a lecture about "You're too adults and too old to watch silly children's cartoons." In the end, Bi Han was also sitting on the couch with the three of you and focused on drawing - yes, it was my little pony and he marathoned everything with you that afternoon -
When you went shopping in the city, the four of you would stay on the sidewalk in the late afternoon, sitting on the asphalt curb, watching the cars pass by, with the joke of "that's my car", Tomas would always stay and point to the white ones in the city, Kuai for the red ones and you for the colored ones (which rarely passed), Bi Han just said "this one", pointing to the black cars, it was a silly joke, but you liked it.
When the betrayal happened, you were torn between helping Bi Han or your other two friends Kuai and Tomas.
If you chose Bi Han's side, you would have his approval and pride and as you always believed in your potential to be his right-hand man in a new era of the Liu Kuei, you would be treated like royalty, having respect from everyone, but leaving Kuai and Tomas extremely sad and swearing to themselves that they would rescue you one day from Bi Han's clutches - even if it had been by their own choice -
If you chose Kuai and Tomas' side, they would welcome you with open arms telling you how you would make a new clan without Bi Han's tyranny, but Bi Han would be extremely disappointed in you, even if he masked it with anger and hatred. In his speech, deep in his eyes you would be able to see his pain at not having you around anymore, he would swear to take revenge on his brothers and get you back to the Lin Kuei clan and to him.

The Lin Kuei trio + Raiden reacting to their usually nice, compassionate, and generally nurturing s/o suddenly looks at an enemy and goes "You have five f**king seconds before I rip open your stomach and turn your innards into a noose." And proceeds to do just that to frightening effect?
Tumblr media
First time writing for Raiden, so hell probably be ooc and some shitty character writing to be made aware of 😂 🦦
Tomas Vrbada
Honestly didn’t see that coming.
He guessed that what he got for judging a book by it’s cover and Tomas learnt that rather fast upon seeing you destroy your opponent in frightening quick succession. So upon seeing your sweet tender smile afterwards whilst covered in blood was bone chilling to Tomas, knowing that someone so sweet, so kind, so caring and nurturing like you had the ability to switch up to a more vicious and violent version persona.
Tomas would be lying to himself if he said he didn’t find you covered in someone else’s blood extremely attractive. So you best mark him down as scared and horny because holy shit.
Like Raiden, he felt the need to protect you and keep you within range of him, but that’s mainly because he’s absolutely terrified of losing you like he lost his family. So he knew that he could come across as overbearing at time when it came to keeping you safe, but you knew that it all came from a good place, and that Tomas was trying so hard to avoid a repetition of in his past to happen to you; So upon learning that you didn’t in fact need his help in keeping you safe, he allows himself to relax a little and ease off of you in fear of being the next person you pummel.
To which he knew wouldn’t be the case but that pent up anger you displayed must’ve come from somewhere.
Tomas came to accept that the hands that he came to love and admire whilst melting within their warm, tender and nurturing hold as they cupped his face, also possessed the ability to mane and destroy just as easily as they could heal and mend his broken heart and patch up his open wounds from intensive missions.
Kuai Liang
Surprised but honestly wonders where it was that you had learnt to defend yourself and in that brutal fashion.
So while everyone else was taken aback when you inevitably unleash hellfire upon your opponents to frightening effect. Kuai Liang on the other hand was only feeling sorry for the poor bastard on the receiving end of your vicious blows, they looked like they fucking hurt that Kuai Liang was for certain on.
Upon first meeting you, Kuai Liang genuinely believed that you either had no prior experience in combat, or just held a distain towards all things violent and purposefully adhere it all together; Not that he was claiming that was a bad thing. It was just a rarity to come across someone like you. To the point where Kuai Liang would often worried that someday someone would sniff this out, before then proceeding to taking advantage and manipulate you into shady business under the pretences of doing good.
He didn’t want to tarnish your kind, caring and loving nature by bringing this up in fear that it would only make you think negatively, and or ashamed of yourself, which would never ever be his primary intention. Kuai Liang was too aware of the horrible people that blended within the shadows and lurked in dark alleyways, so therefore he didn’t want you getting involved in something that would alter you into a person that you would forever hate ever becoming.
Knowing now that you could fully protect yourself if the instance ever did arrive, Kuai Liang would only become more adamant in helping you incorporate moves of self defence into your arsenal, so you’ll always be ready for near enough anything if he wasn’t able to be with you.
Bi-Han
He is proud as all hell.
While your vulgar threat made his brows raise in slight surprise but mainly curiosity, having wondered where this side chaotic and violent of you had came from, but ultimately took a sickening form of satisfaction of seeing you back up your words by utterly decimating your enemy with doing what you forewarned was about to happen; He might as well looked like an utter mad man with how much attention he was giving, good lord.
He’s giving your fighting style an close and in-depth examination, taking notes on everything that you did good and everything that you could use some improvement upon with his help as though he was locked within a high intensity game of chess! Someone was getting brutally pulverised and yet Bi-Han could only watch on with genuine intrigue on articulating methods in to making you even more deadly in combat.
He’s seen a golden opportunity and he would be stupid to let it go now.
Tumblr media
Raiden
Scared and horny 2.0
Poor baby is taken aback by your vicious side.
However he would still hold your hand as though they were made of porcelain as he takes a wet cloth and cleans away the blood and viscera from your knuckles to take care of your bruises that lied beneath from brutally beating down your enemy. You’re still the kind, caring and nurturing person he knows and loves, you just got some added qualities that’s all!
Even though your caring and nurturing nature often made you look weak and in constant need of defending in the eyes of others, Raiden didn’t see it the way that they did. While yes he felt this obligation to keep you out of harms way and keep you close, that’s just how Raiden is as a person to defend those who couldn’t defend themselves. And that was in no way shape or form meant to be taken as him disregarding your ability to protect yourself.
That wasn’t his intention and if you did believe that were the case. Then he would have no qualms in reminding you of how much he trusts you to protect yourself, even going so far as to sight this as a major example of that. Your fighting style may be consistent of the usage of deadly and lethal force but Raiden knew that you wouldn’t willingly use it against just anybody, only using it as a method of self defence first and foremost, unless further provoked into engaging in a full altercation.
Much like Tomas, Raiden probably also thought that you being covered in someone else’s blood was attractive in it’s own regard.

SHANG TSUNG HCs
I once again can’t stop thinking about MK1 Shang Tsung and his personal life and relationships /struggles / past / so have these rambles, keep im mind that most of these are HCs we came up with for our AU but I think they might generally apply as I just love them so much.
• To most of his allies Shang Tsung is respectable and influential enough to be a collaborator but too alienating and too much of a pathological liar to be a friend or even a partner as soon as they find out what experiments he conducts. This frustrates Shang Tsung because he desperately longs to experience the feeling of being admired. It’s kind of twisted though, because he is entirely unwilling to change his ways even towards other evil-spirited figures and still hopes that someone will love him for what he does as there’s a sense of “look at my power and my deceptive nature and how I simply do not care, isn’t that an attractive quality in and of itself?” He almost expects people to want him for it but it doesn’t occur in his mind that no matter if good or evil people consider working with him his ways will always make him untrustworthy.
• think when he was younger he tried to make genuine connections but usually ended up being discarded or he severed said connections himself because of his deceptive nature - so it never really got anywhere and eventually he turned spiteful without acknowledging that he was often the issue rather than others. It definitely got chaotic and he probably didn’t shy away from manipulating people into desiring him but deep inside he always knew that fake love and fake bonds wouldn’t bring him the satisfaction that he desires. It was always just a means to survival in the end so loyalty of any sort towards him was always forced rather than earned. He so badly wants to mean something to someone but in the end his actions drive everyone away and closer bonds are hardly ever considered. It’s basically an endless cycle he cannot seem to get out of.
• He does not mind having few friends especially due to a past of mutual backstabbings and untrustworthy alliances but he clearly does mind not having admirers as there is a sense of envy over Liu Kang’s power and the admiration he deserves because of his modesty. He was visibly taken aback after finding out that somewhere in other timelines there were versions of him who had actual influence and he asks himself why he was the one deemed “lesser” than his doppelgangers.
• Convincing Bi-Han, the literal grandmaster of the Lin Kuei, probably felt like one of the biggest successes to date for him. He was able to successfully use his schemes to tempt a powerful man into betraying his own family and join forces and it would only make his god complex grow. However he is probably a man who is hardly satisfied whatsoever so the fact that Kuai Liang and Smoke did NOT join would frustrate him to no end - especially because these fighters genuinely appeal to him and he had hoped for things to develop which might seem like a completely delusional desire to outsiders - again this comes from the deep underlying despair of wanting to be noticed and acknowledged but no one ever engages in such a way. He often seeks more in alliances than his partners and therefore he never quite feels fulfilled.

I'm kinda weirded out that Bi-Han scars his brother and people act like him being a little mean to Tomas is his worst deed and he deserves to die for it or something. Bi-Han doesn't owe Tomas any love or respect. You don't have to like someone just because daddy said so.
I totally agree that hating Bi-Han for not liking or loving Tomas as a brother is pretty wild take on his character, because he did not ask for such a bond, the same as Tomas did not ask to be orphaned and adopted into Grandmaster’s family. Both were forced into a situation created by adults that apparently couldn’t act appropriately to the situation (e.g. killing Tomas’ mother and sister when the family accidentally trespassed on Lin Kuei territory and Grandmaster adopting Tomas out of shame / to save his honor rather than out of love/care for the boy).
What is even weirder to me, Kitana and Mileena had in previous timeline(s) bitter relationship yet I don’t see fandom to hate original/alternative MK9!Kitana for rejecting Mileena ("You are not my family... you are a monstrosity!") and looking down on her because of Tarkatan blood (“[Shang Tsung] has created horrid replicas of me crossbred with Tarkatan blood!”). People apparently can acknowledge that Kitana was thrown into “sisterhood” she did not ask and the creation of “twin sister” happened out of her control and knowledge while also understanding it was no Mileena’s fault for acting and looking the way she was because it was how she was specifically created. If fandom can accept and support Kitana’s choice of rejecting “sister” on the spot without any empathy to look at the situation from her perspective AND AT THE SAME TIME can feel sorry for Mileena, then the similar treatment should be given to Bi-Han and Tomas, as they were presumably children who adapted to the unfamiliar situation in their own ways. However the main difference between those two scenarios is that Mileena is the “psycho” (so Kitana is excused for not wanting her as a sister) while MK1!Smoke is the personality-wise castrated version of MK9!Tomas who for whatever reason is now the fandom’s Cinnamon Roll that never did anything wrong and anyone who doesn’t melt at the sight of this cutie IS BIG MEANIE, boo!
A character not loving fans’ favorite does not commit a crime however fandom wants to present it as unquestionable proof of said character’s evilness. Fictional or real life, people are allowed to not like each other as the definition of family will vary from culture to culture, and from one person to another - it does not however allow anyone to abuse other people, but that should go without saying.
Bi-Han said mean things to Tomas, and Kuai Liang for that matter. He in general treated others in a similar, cold fashion. But objectively speaking he did much more questionable things over the course of the story, yet people are fixated on Smoke’s feelings alone - and to be honest, I'm not even surprised anymore by that.
But you know what frustrates me the most about fandom’s perception of Bi-Han and Tomas relationship? The amount of fanwork presenting Bi-Han as always mean, always abusive to the poor poor little Tomas which is not just the best proof the fandom is set to demonize kid Bi-Han for his adult self’s choices. It is the whole implication that Grandmaster and the Mother and like everyone involved in raising the brothers, all the masters and teachers did not act to prevent it from happening nor cared to correct Bi-Han’s action. And the most sick thing about that? Children imitate the behavior of adults. Do people really think that kid Bi-Han started saying "Lin Kuei blood only" bullshit out of his mind just to spit in the pitiful orphan's face? Like, really?
Stupid beliefs like that come from somewhere and children are taught by their parents and adult people around what “values” and traditions they should respect and follow. We literally know just three Lin Kuei characters and the fact that only Kuai Liang and Tomas rejected Sub-Zero’s leadership while the clan followed their Grandmaster implies Bi-Han’s beliefs are accepted and shared by the clan. So maybe instead of being so set on demonizing kid!Bi-Han - who so far was only said to be “always cold” to Tomas what is not equal to being abusive and cruel on purpose - maybe it is time for fandom to examine previous Grandmaster and the whole clan’s beliefs that A) were passed to Bi-Han to mold him into man he is today and B) apparently fucked up Tomas’ childhood so much.

A tender moment in the Frossie War:
Cassie sitting alone, curled up in a ball with tears in her eyes. Takeda walks in with a few pizza boxes and a six pack.
Takeda: I thought I’d find you here. You got everyone worrying about you. Figured you could use some cheering up. I got your favorite. Cheep Taiwanese beer and greasy pizza from that one place in New York you like so much.
Cassie, wiping the tears out of her eyes: How did you-?
Takeda: Your dad pulled some strings. I guess it pays to be famous.
Cassie: Thanks, I- I honestly thought you’d hate me right now.
Takeda: Why would I hate you? Unless you found and deleted my save of Pokemon Silver, in which case, yes, you’re dead to me. I could never hate you.
Cassie: Really? Because right now I’m the only reason you can’t see or talk to Jacqui anymore. I’m the reason Jin and Lao left the Shaolin. I’m the reason the Lin Kuei and Shirai Ryu are now labeled as enemies of the state. Everything is my fault!
Takeda: Hey, none of that is your fault and no one here thinks that but you. The alliance between the Shaolin, the SF, and our clans was rocky to start with, anything could have set this off, and how were you supposed to know that you mother’s mama bear mode was becoming a psychopath? Jin and Lao left because Raiden is a grade A asshole who can’t self reflect to save his life, and me and Jacqui still see each other and talk, it’s just a bit harder now.
Cassie: You still see her? How?
Takeda: What, you think I spent 15 years training in stealth and infiltration and not be able to sneak onto a military base? Please, Ms. Cage, you wound me. I cracked that place’s security week one. And who do you think’s been feeding us intel on SF movements? A lot of the troops have more loyalty to you than they do to General Blade. Jacqui has a whole spy network she’s been running behind her father’s back. She says hi by the way. Now get your sorry butt up. Frostie and Jin are waiting for us in the entertainment room. You gotta pick out a movie.
Cassie, finally smiling: Ninja Mime marathon.
Takeda, only half meaning it: Never mind, I do hate you.
awwwwwwwww this is so cute!
Cassie and Frost spend the whole movie marathon tangled together like octopi and Takeda gets so many blackmail photos (jokes on him, Frost has no shame)

BiTomas week
Day 5. Lazy Day
Author's notes: the characters' images are taken from the classic games and supplemented with my headcannons. This is completely unrelated to "Mortal Kombat 1" (2023).
After long and difficult missions, days will certainly come when you don’t want to do absolutely anything. On such days, there is not enough energy for morning exercise, for reading smart books, or for any important and necessary activity. Of course, you reproach yourself for inaction and wasting time, but internally you forgive yourself everything, pompously justifying yourself by the fact that at these moments you are accumulating energy so that later you can return to the normal pace of life.
It is best to gain strength near a loved one. Guided by this very rule, Bi Han and Tomas hastened to escape from the Lin Kuei fortress, left alone with each other. Their path ran deep into the mountain range, sheltering the clan from prying eyes, straight to that place forgotten by the Elder Gods, which they had long ago dubbed theirs.
— It’s beautiful here, — Tomas smiled, again majestically examining the valleys of the forested mountains from one of the ledges of the nameless mountain.
— You always say that when we get here.
— Because it’s always beautiful here. And during the day, and in the evening, and at night... Only in the morning, we did not see this place. It's a pity...
— Are you suggesting we stay here for the night?
— No, excuse me. Let me sleep on a normal bed at least on my days off.
— Do you think I’ll let you sleep tonight?
— Don’t worry, I’m almost used to your snoring.
Bi Han and Tomas laugh dully. Sub-Zero approaches his lover from behind, silently hugging him by the shoulders and delighting his partner with a calm smile.
It's really beautiful here after all. The clear azure sky pleases the selective eye, filling the surrounding landscape with extraordinary liveliness and freedom. The perennial evergreen forest, covering the slopes of the mountain valleys with a dense blanket, gives this place some kind of mysterious charm. It seems that it is precisely such places that can be called places of power, since there really is something wise and majestic in them. Generation after generation of Lin Kuei warriors passes, and these trees still stand motionless, imbued with the strength and knowledge of short-lived people.
There is something poetic and deeply philosophical in this, but, to be honest, Bi Han unconsciously runs away from this, not wanting to load his brain with something more complicated than the monotonous contemplation of the embellishments of the Greater Khingan.
Besides, he likes Tomas’s inspired face much more than the sky, mountains and all this nature. Smoke, whose face is finally filled with peace and serene joy - this is true beauty, which he can admire for an immensely long time. Bi Han want to disappear into those pure light gray eyes, forgetting about everyone and everything.
— You’re beautiful... — Sub-Zero whispers in his ear.
— You always say that, — Tomas chuckles, smiling flattered.
— Because you are beautiful. Both inside and outside.
— Thank you, — Smoke nods, turning his gaze from the enchanting forests to face of his lover.
Of course, he can’t deny him beauty either. There is something attractive and dear to the heart in these features, something so necessary, but at the same time not the most pleasant. No, of course, he is handsome in appearance, but his eyes... Two blue-black pools seem capable of dragging anyone weaker than Bi Han to their bottom. Evil and cruelty had long been buried in his soul, which could not help but be reflected in the gaze of the strongest Lin Kuei warrior. However, somewhere in the depths of his eyes something charming sparkled... Beautiful and kind. Tomas could enjoy these glimpses until the end of time.
— There is beauty in your soul too...
— I hope, next to you, I will reveal it completely.
Postscript: I am not an English-speaking person and this is my first experience in writing a literary text in a foreign language. I apologize in advance for all my mistakes in this text and ask you to point them out in the comments or personal messages. Thanks a lot in advance to everyone!
Thanks to @bitomas-week for organizing the event and great work.

🧊An Unexpected Twist
Pairing: None Length: 613 Words Rating: General Warnings: Mortal Kombat 1 timeline, Kuai Liang is Scorpion, Pyromancer!Kuai Liang, Fluff, Power Awakening, Bàba Zero is trying his best
Ice, Ice, Smoke And Fire Masterlist
Notes: Another one I’ve had written up and edited for a while. Ice, Ice, Smoke And Fire is just gonna be a series of silly fluffy oneshots following Bàba Zero (dubbed Sub Zero in this, I’m kinda going with Bi-Han taking the title after Bàba Zero’s death) trying his best… cuz tbh I just want to write the Lin Kuei trio as children getting into trouble and making their dad’s life difficult. I kinda like the idea that Kuai being a pyromancer was a surprise to everyone, hence why he still has an ice related name. I’d also like to say I wrote this before MK1 came out (just after Dominic accidentally dropped that Kuai was Scorpion in that IGN interview), so we didn’t have the intro’s where Bi-Han and Tomas talk about Mama Zero. That said, Kuai never really talks about her, so I’m going with the headcanon that she died when he was still young and he doesn’t have as many memories of her as Bi-Han and Tomas do (I headcanon Tomas is the middle brother). Anyway, enough of me clarifying stuff: enjoy the fluff :)
Tumblr media
“Bàba, look what I can do!”
Sub Zero looked up from his paperwork to watch as Kuai Liang ran into the room. He was 6 years old now, around the age where his cryomancy should be starting to come through. He held his breath and smiled, eagerly awaiting to see if indeed Kuai’s cryomancy was finally taking form.
Kuai held his little hands up in the air, his face scrunching up as he did his best to summon his new abilities. Sub Zero didn’t say anything, wanting his son to do this by himself. Finally, there was a small flash, as magic finally erupted from his hands.
Except… that was not ice.
Inside Kuai’s palm was a small flame, flickering away like a lit candle.
“Look! My ice is orange!” Kuai seemed blissfully unaware that what he held in his hand was pretty much the complete opposite of ice.
Sub Zero could only stare in shocked silence, trying to wrack his brain as to some explanation of how this could have happened. His bloodline had been one of cryomancy for generations, and as far as he remembered, his late wife had no inherent magical abilities that could offer an explanation.
“I can also do this,” Kuai announced, quickly turning to his left, and putting the flame directly under the room's curtains.
Unfortunately, Sub Zero had not quite realised what Kuai was about to do until the curtain set ablaze. He scrambled out of the seat, grabbing Kuai around the waist with one arm, while summoning a thick layer of ice to douse the flames. Kuai giggled the entire time, not grasping the danger he’d just posed to them. Despite Sub Zero’s delayed reaction, thankfully the damage was minimal.
Sub Zero let out a relieved breath, before shifting his arms until Kuai was comfortable and in front of him. Kuai clapped his hands in triumph, clearly very proud of himself. Weirdly, Sub Zero was proud of him too, even if he was a menace. Even if this entire debacle raised so many questions.
“Kuai Liang, could you show me again?” He asked gently, wanting to see it one more time, slightly closer up this time. “Cup your hands together, and let the magic flow to them.”
Kuai nodded confidently. He cupped his hands together, that same look of sheer concentration gracing his features. Eventually, the same thing happened again, and there in Kuai’s hands was a flame. Sub Zero smiled, this was in no way something he ever expected, but it was what was happening. He would just have to find a way to help navigate his son through this strange new power.
“Grandmaster!” The door slammed open and Hydro stumbled inside, looking extremely panicked. “We believe we’re under attack, we’ve found fire’s all over the temp-“
He stopped speaking when he noticed the small flame in Kuai Liang’s hands.
“Stand down, Master Hydro,” Sub Zero replied, trying not to laugh. “I suspect the attack came from within and have apprehended the culprit.”
He shot Kuai a glance, and he still looked far too happy with himself.
“I… see…” Hydro sounded as shocked as Sub Zero had been. Still he straightened himself out. “I will… Uh… Go and aid the efforts to fix the damage.”
Hydro bowed to him, before turning to leave. Sub Zero redirected his attention back to Kuai Liang, who had put out the flame and was now looking at his father with bright eyes. The child needed guidance, and even though Sub Zero wasn’t sure he would be enough, he would do everything possible to do so.
No matter what, he would always do his best to support his child.

personal crazy screams about mk1 in general:
ok I finished playing the story mode and. I didn’t expect anything great anyway, though some theories/ideas came into my mind, but they’d be too serious for nrs.
Speaking about the story (I don’t even take this sims 4 timeline seriously), it seemed too sketchy to me, like there were the things without any explanation, everything went too fast. but I liked Mileena’s (my fav baby my love) story in some way, she was finally shown from the other side, and, ohmy, REPTILE. He was beautiful, though, again, I’d actually like to see more scenes with him, because he just appeared there and disappeared immediately.
the ending was like some party in hell. no more, no less. shang tsung and quan chi as an old, insane couple.
loving Smoke, playing as him, and actually, the connection between Tomas and Kuai is one of the few things I liked in the whole lin kuei stuff. However, what they did to Hanzo/Kuai is a pure nonsense. Making a total reset to Hanzo in the invasions, whose personality seemed so grown up in mk11, who really had a character development throughout the previous games, is kind of disrespect, as for me, but of course everyone has different opinions. Making Bi-Han soo sketchy that he barely had time in the story and just DISAPPEARED is predictable, yet this disappoints me so hella much.
speaking about its gameplay, I didn’t expect to love playing as Raiden, lol. I liked that I didn’t even need to use his superpowers to play there, his moves seem so “flowing”. But I didn’t like to play as Ashrah. Not my character, probably.
I played it with my bro and tbh I’m glad because none of my few pals even likes to play it. (When he suddenly said he loved Sareena so much, tho he didn’t even know about her until mk1 came, a very stupid joke about her being the master at bewitching every elder sibling got me as hell, but I knew he wouldn’t understand that lmao.) What can I do, even I love her in some way.

FINAL(?) THOUGHTS ON MK12
the story in general: enjoyable if you take it as face-value and dont dig deeper than the surface level, also if you dont have any passionate attachments to what came before.
the earthrealm champions storyline: genuinely liked it. Kung Lao/Raiden/Johnny/Kenshi's introduction and characterization were strong enough to carry them through the story. It was pretty easy to fill the gaps between timeskips and the dynamics were enjoyable
the outworld storyline: lots of players in this one but having a clear villain (shang) that ties everyone's motivation together makes it easy to follow. Overall I did like it.
the lin kuei storyline: as per usual, its isolated from everything else, but it's given NO screentime to actually develop, and even seem like an afterthought. I'd even dare say that with a little tweaking, you could remove them completely and the story would be no different. The only thing accomplished here is making explaining who the characters are harder than necessary, and I swear if I see one more person with vague knowledge of what theyre talking about trying to explain them to people who know even less and getting it absurdly wrong because of this game, I'm going to lose it. By far my biggest disappointment.
The timelines shenanigans: in a weird limbo where it's simultaneously too much focused on and not touched on enough. It felt like it was here for spectacle rather than smth they genuinely wanted to explore, but then again we have one interactions thats kinda sweet and satisfying. Overall, the entire story revolves around this so its pretty solid? but I also did not quite like it on a fundamental level. So it was... whatever.
INDIVIDUAL CHARACTERS:
Liu Kang: the closest thing we have to a clear protagonist, as he ties everyone together, which is fitting for his role both out and in-universe. I dont mind him even tho he is definitely flawed as its impossible to write a character with that much control as 100% good (we wouldnt have a game otherwise). Think he shouldve kept the white god hair tho.
Raiden: his role being switched with liu kang's was expected and the logical following of their storyline in mk11, I am more than fine with that. Raiden feels like himself in a different circumstance. I sure do wish his electricity was inherent to him and not the product of an amulet tho, I have no idea why this change was made. I did like him overall.
Kung Lao: Kung Lao is consistent in his characterization and this familiarity made me like him even more than usual. He gets really sidelined early on but I know the chapter system is to blame for that. There is a lot of cute moments involving him.
Johnny Cage: god, the writers fucking ADORE him do they? As one of mk's sole comic relief characters, I get he is the only one able to deliver a bit of comedy to the mix but fucking hell they almost abuse him in that regard. BUT they also give him a shocking lot of nuance too? The scene with his future ex-wife and everything involving kenshi? He gets a LOT of screentime and development and he is nothing BUT characterization, hence why, as someone who doesnt care that much about him, at one point it starts to feel really fucking unfair. Johnny is fine but I have to check myself because if I get too much exposure to him (which is inevitable) he genuinely starts to piss me off so fucking bad
Kenshi: he's fine. Kenshi here, like Johnny, is a character that isnt tied to anyone else, so the both of them having a joined development thats resolved in this very game is pretty good. I dont have a lot of things to say about Kenshi, he complete his arc and gets his job done in the narrative.
Geras: Geras has only been in one game prior so he does not have overwhelming expectations weighing him down. I really liked him here, his relationship with Liu Kang really does both of them favor.
Sub Zero: Bi-han fit the antagonistic role he was given well enough. Sadly it comes at the price of his already feeble reputation of an originally neutral character. But even when I lower my expectations, here he is given no nuance and no room for growth, not in a satisfying way anyway, as things are right now. The "depth" (read: one or two lines) he is given feels more like inconsistence on the writers' part than him having complex feelings. As usual, he COULD have been great, but he isnt. I'm really disappointed.
Scorpion: Utterly Unrecognizable. He is not fully Kuai Liang on account of being Scorpion, and he is not fully Scorpion on account of being Kuai Liang. This isnt a character, this is a checklist: 1) get the scar (Kuai Liang part) ✅️ 2) be shirai ryu (Scorpion part) ✅️. He is the only character to be given this treatment, or at the very least, the only one where its THAT noticeable because he is made of arguably the most popular characters of mk. We are missing CRITICAL parts of his and his brother's characters to make us care (his motivation comes from an unknown and unseen dead father that never existed before and such a massive big deal is never given development or focus, despite being all they're talking about), their entire storyline rely on nothing other than the HIGHLY popular rivalry between "Scorpion" and "Sub zero". No love and care was brought to his character, nor his brothers', nor his storyline.
Smoke: Smoke... sure as hell was there. Personal thoughts: but the more time passes the more I Do Not Like his characterization. He is written no longer as an equal to Kuai Liang but as what I can best describe as a sidekick, even moreso than usual thanks to him being written and played as younger than the brothers. Yet another thing I dont like about the Lin Kuei storylike. Literally miss (bi-han) after miss (kuai liang) after miss (smoke) for me. They're out.
Hanzo: genuinely ask yourself. Are you happy that hanzo is here? His presence in mk12 is the same as nrs holding up a cardboard picture of him so people wont be mad that he's absent. Everything that he had has been given to "scorpion" aka kuai. He cannot be important because he is young. And when we get a timeskip of him being finally being older then what? The only thing people want of him is dying and coming back as an angry wraith? That's all he is and will be? I'd rather have no Hanzo at all rather than him being stripped of what made him him and used in an unsatisfying way.
Harumi: Harumi went from being the wife of Hanzo Hasashi that dies to being the prize of Scorpion's character. She is finally given development but said development is so confined to the game she's in that it doesnt even matter to me, adding to the fact that they're going in a direction I find boring (to my tastes) with her.
Kitana: she was also there. Which is surprising because kitana always felt like... the protagonist when outworld was involved? While I understand her role, I personally am not that fond of her being relegated to a supporting character.
Mileena: she is an entirely new character with mileena as a basis. I think her story has holes but on the surface it gets the job done. She is definitely one of the more focused on character all the way til she gets her own chapter to conclude her arc, and she has plenty of relationships to bounce off of, so she's definitely one of the more rounded characters here. I dont mind her, but I cant hide personal pettiness that her popularity mightve been the reason why she's so important.
Sindel: I genuinely DID like sindel but I look at her and in the back of my mind there is always the devs' voices going "sorry sorry sorry". Still, I liked her. I liked her death also! It made sense and, while I think it couldve been done MUCH MORE EMOTIONALLY, Im fairly okay with the way it was done. Idk if her being a flawed leader is completely a feature or a bug but I did like it!
Li Mei: I literally did not care that much about li mei until the revelation that she and sindel used to be friends, and then a lot of things clicked together, so I would say THIS was good. Other than that, li mei is whatever to me.
Reptile: one of my main issue with him just boils down to him being hot. I do not mind him having one big monstery form and one human form, but the two are clearly not treated equally, and yeah yeah I know its easier with a human model or whatever BUT LITERALLY BARAKA EXIST. So him being "good looking" 75% of the time with sad backstory and an IMMEDIATE nice an easy going personality (even tho imo he should maybe be a bit angry and grieving that his fucking family died in the living forest until at least his own chapter) = the writers trying too hard for me to give him my sympathy. And I dont like being forced. Aka reptile lost most of his edge with me, it's like hes trying so hard to be likable he has no flaws and so he annoys me a bit in return. But I still like him. I SHOULD love him, so much even, but when I try there is always smth bugging me. I want him to be more fucked up, and no, eating a bug once (1) doesnt count, its what should be NORMAL for him.
Tanya: she's so weird to me. Tanya is mk12 is like, if she was from a mirror universe where she was the good version of an evil jade, if you get what I mean? She's not tanya in almost every way, yknow? Also, usually if you think the writing staff do anything with shipping in mind, you're reading too much into it, and shipping itself is not smth that's seen with respect... BUT THAT BEING SAID I genuinely wonder: if tanya/mileena had never been a thing, would they still had picked tanya for this role, or would they simply just have picked jade.
Rain: to fully appreciate rain you have to hunt down everything involving him in mk12, cutscenes in storymode, endings, intros... my man literally has SO little. But. What he has is literally so inoffensive to me, I actually quite like this rain a lot. He has his own thing going on and I like the direction it took!
Baraka: his inclusion feels like mileena's story was thought of first, and baraka's was built all around it to support it. No, I still dont like the tarkatans being a leprosy allegory now, and no, the new identity Baraka has doesnt do anything for me even if (or because) it was made completely out of nowhere for the purpose of mk12. People dont want SOME characters to suffer (even tho it makes for an interesting story), but when baraka is reworked into doing nothing but suffering, nobody bat an eye because he is no one's favorite. Also he is severely underused in story mode, where he could give us more insight on tarkat and the flaws of the regime, but doesnt. He also helps the earthrealmers out of the kindness of his heart but it really does feel a bit forced, especially when intros show he is not actually that kind in general. Still, just like reptile, I liked baraka.
Shao: funnily enough shao is given interesting depths in this story, but because shao has been an absolute fucking bastard in his 30 years of existence, nobody seems to notice or care. But I Do, despite myself I notice and care about whatever weird thing shao has got going on this time around. I know he has to be a lil bit problematic in there if I dig a little but nothing BIG on the surface so far??? And its the addition of MISGUIDED BUT NOBLE GOALS in shao that were previously non-existent thats so fucking weird to me. I'm literally looking at him under the microscope.
Reiko: Jobber Supreme. Reiko was funny. He is carried by his relationship to shao but it could legit be interesting so yknow what Im gonna let this silly fucking guy entertain me. What can I say, I like when villains have positive interactions and relationships.
Shang Tsung: Shang Tsung (both of them) was funny af. 10/10 no notes. Extremely entertaining. No fucking redeeming qualities. Critical amount of Kunt being served here. Evil and having fun about it. Caught being stupid in 4k by his own self. His plan(s) was pretty straightforward and I can appreciate that. I have nothing bad to say about Shang.
Quan chi: Quan chi was there to make funny faces and be mean gays with Shang Tsung. I dont mind him. Him being an outworlder and "turning white" is not smth I enjoy much tho, whats wrong with him being tied completely to the netherrealm?
Ermac: his design is something you eventually get used to. But as soon as you do he fucking get That Face. I swear I almost end up hating Jerrod in spite because of how they used Ermac. I cant deny it technically makes sense why they wouldve used him like that but I cant help it, I Did Not Like It. didnt liked it in mk9, dont like it now. I think I wouldve liked more the idea of Ermac being influenced by Jerrod rather than him being downright possessed by him. My opinion was much more scathing before the leaks but I have since calmed down a bit. But Ermac gets treated so badly in this game, he actually gets all my sympathy and more, compared to other characters.
Ashrah: Ashrah is okay. I like what she adds to the earthrealm team (and god know they needed her bc damn this was the no girls allowed club before she showed up) but I'm not sure I would enjoy her on her own without someone to bounce off of. Because she also was a character whole neutrality got removed to make her a fully good-aligned character. One thing that really endeared me to her tho was her "I've never had a home before!" line and the genuine happiness she showed there, I wish this part of her had been more explored. And she is also one of the characters that gets a lot more fleshed out in the intros to me. But still, like I said, Ashrah was okay.
Nitara: yeah the megan fox voice acting is objectively bad but it could also be way worse. I know its different bc this one is just an optional skin and not the character's actual voice but fucking listen to JCVD's voice acting. As for nitara, Im really sorry but it feels like she is just here to fill a niche, and said niche being "fanservice". So i'm really sorry for people who like her but yeah she is outshined by her VA and the "well she is a 3d era character that hasnt been shown for awhile so lets bring her back for the people" sentiment. As for her role in the story, I know we need jobbers but she is so isolated from everything they could remove her and it wouldnt change anything. Her personal motivation is not even given the time of day even tho it's the ONLY thing she has, so yeah Im having a hard time to care. Which is sad.
Havik: as soon as I saw his bio I knew he was going to be done dirty, the trailer he showed up in implied it but him having such a sympathetic backstory all but confirmed they were gonna go the "guy with good reasons to change the system fucking take it too far so you cant endorse him" trope with him. Everything with him seems a bit random (which is ironic considering he is mr. chaos) like, why is scorpion the one to give him his iconic open jaw look? (It also cements scorpion as the checklist character ngl). Anyway I do understand the reason for his inclusion as well as the story needing jobbers, doesnt change that I still think he's whatever tho.

“ᴡᴏʀᴅꜱ ʟᴇꜰᴛ ᴜɴꜱᴘᴏᴋᴇɴ”
Nejteri just heard about the Outworld General's loose tongue, thanks to one gossiping Earthrealmer, and goes out to see him for a reason unknown to her, but it felt as a right thing to do.
Tumblr media
The night of the banquet could have gone a little better for both guests, hosts, and entertainers.
It was thanks to Nejteri's new company that the news had caught up to her fresh and from a trusty source unlike from any shopkeeper. When the tall, albino woman from Earthrealm had gossiped about how tense it was at the banquet because of a voiced opinion that had stirred some fire between the two Realm races, Nejteri did not care for it as it is a feud she finds ridiculous — but when Diya insighted her about who was the one spitting his outlook something in her brain had switched and her short legs strode long steps pass the market towards the Great Hall. The tall Kunoichi trailed in her shadow after her.
"Nejteri-san?" Diya chirped, not in any hurry for if she would have wanted she'd have caught up to the short woman in two long strides. Just from watching Nejteri's short yet toned and tensed shoulders that highwired muscled arms with same intensity, she knew that this was personal. Would her eldest brother be here she'd get scolded for being nosy... but he isn't here at the moment.
"They left some time ago, I'm sure they're already at home."
Nejteri only spared the Lin Kuei kunoichi a grunt, following the scent her nose picked up among many others, but only one was the one.
The streets were busy at this early night hour, some shops are already closed or are getting ready to close up. Today was a big day for this realm but a word already spread they were bested in the Kombat yet again. Nejteri can only imagine the fit of anger her childhood friend was having. Most importantly, if he had laid it off on Reiko already, that man will wish he'd rather have an ear-full of their Empress when Nejteri is finished.
For being so small compared to most of the adults they had passed, Diya had to give Nejteri credit for pushing past everyone so lithely like a fish swimming upstream with rocks in its way.
It's hilarious how easy it was to find them, the General stuck out like a sore tumb not only with his imposing height but his horns were pretty much a give-away, his second-in-command by his side - ever so loyal - to stood guard for both his drunken leader not to be taken advantage of and to keep their citizens from harms way were they too close to the General's space. It was quite a mult-itask.
Shao wasn't drunk to be either at the point or blackout nor feel tipsy but it influenced his temper to bubble up with no filter, his calm composure had left the moment he accepted the wine into his empty stomach and it made him 'drunk' that much easier.
The horned male was mumbling spiteful things under his breath, past his fanged teeth until Nejteri's voice had cut him off as if a blade just flew past his nose.
"Oi!" just one yelp was enough to keep strangers from passing by in her path as soon as she spotted her bitter friend. "Shao!"
Nejteri wasn't being disrespectful, her praise for fighting the wars had been one too many, but she could never get her tongue to blurt out the honorifics whenever her gaze landed on him. The only ones who seemed to really be bothered by it were anyone but Shao. Tonight, though, her tone didn't sit well with his gut.
The giant of a man took a staggering step before facing the woman he had grew up with and shared with his most vulnerable moments.
Shao glared at the sight of her and her trailing companion. Another Earthrealmer. Oh, how is he fed up with those. To share the same air he breaths with them.
Reiko had never taken a hostile stand in front of Nejteri but it is for Diya this warning was for, for all of their sakes. He passed a softer look to whom he considers as a foster mother before they sharpened at the white-as-snow woman who is just a few inches shorter than him with her high heeled shoes.
Nejteri just rose her thick brow at the young lad when he allowed to get past him but kept Diya at bay. Which reminded her of the Lin Kuei kunoichi, she didn't really expect Diya to bother herself with following after her.
"What is it?" Shao gruffly demanded with impatience, staring nearly down at his feet as she approached, her inconvinient height making her crain her head all the way back and exposed her neck with vulnerability that always put her trust in him at a test.
"Heard 'bout the stupidest thing you had ever done so far." it was meant to poke at his pride and it worked, Shao's square jaw tensed and although she got a kick out of it she felt somewhat... angry. And her expressive brows made it show. "I will also walk you home."
An order fell from her lips and Shao challenged it with a leer and tipped his chin up above her ever-so-slightly. "You watch your tongue or I will rip it off myself...!"
"Will ya, now?"
Reiko looked away from Diya's coyness towards the small woman, alerted. "No need, I can-"
"The great General will behave in my company, we'll be fine." Nejteri interrupted the young man without her gaze straying away from Shao's. "But Diya needs an escort back to her party."
The only one excited by Nejteri's given task seemed to be the white-haired woman only.
Reiko hopelessly looked at his General but his eyes were strained at someone else. When Shao gave a nod of approval to Nejteri's proposal, Reiko could not hide his sneer of distain of his mouth. With a huff he stomped off his spot back to the location he had just been leaving and the tall woman was quickly catching up to him with a smile.
"お兄ちゃん達が君を食べてしまうよ…" Diya hummed with delight and walked close to the man's side who was confused by her amusion as waves of passing by civilians swallowed up the trail behind them.
Both Shao and Nejteri continued to stand there, time and passing people a tranquill waterstream in their shared silence. Despite the calmness both of them were tensed, their blood boiling, million and one words at the tips of their tongues of both insults and fondness but their stubborn jaws refused to open.
So close, but still so far appart, was the gap between them. Shao considered bending down and Nejteri considered climbing up at him, hold onto his horns for ballance. Both believed hard it is for a reason for their bitterness to humiliate the other as a punishment, they didn't know yet it was a sign their souls wanted to tightly hold one another even in this most inconvinient time.
It was Nejteri who pulled away first and Shao's body reacted as if pulled along, like they were embodies magnets.
"Come on, ya horned oaf." Nejteri's head tipped towards one direction, a short cut to his home. "Don't embarrass yourself out here further."
Tension in his shoulders ever-so-slightly subdued as the sudden lack of closeness turned cold. But that must have been the natural body heat he felt.
Without another word he followed after her, right by her right side. His mind under the influence noted that it felt good to have her back on that spot again, a place at his left where she had always been whenever he turned around.

Hey bby i hope your feeling good! Can i request an afab reader reacting to lin kuei trio fingering the reader behind the table while a lin kuei meeting is happening?
HEADKANONS MK1 | TRIO LIN KUEI | FINGERING THE READER UNDER THE TABLE
TW: afab anatomy, fingering, pussy talk, smut, exhibitionism, public teasing, pet names, degradation, dirty talk.
A/N: Hi anon, I'm a little sick, but I hope to get better soon, thanks for asking♡ I hope you like it <3
𖤐 TOMAS VRBADA | SMOKE
Tumblr media
It will all start out very innocently, with small touches from Tomas on your thighs and butt, while the two of you listen to information about the next mission on the earthly plane.
You'll be able to feel Vrbada's rough fingers creeping dangerously close to your crotch, with him soon reaching your clothed pussy.
He will slightly turn his face towards you, smiling sideways and without warning, finding an opening in your clothes, sticking one of his fingers into your wet slit.
He will start to insert it lightly, while you were holding back your moans, he would already be hard as hell, you really wanted to tell him to stop because it was so good, his fingers were stretching you and you were already starting to moan a little too loud, making Tomas quickly removes his fingers.
You saw him teasingly bringing his wet fingers to his mouth and leaning in to your ear, whispering hoarsely.
"-Fuck dear, you taste so good, let's get out of here okay? I need to fuck you now."
Tumblr media
𖤐 KUAI LIANG | SCORPION
Tumblr media
It was a fair exchange, you had provoked him on another occasion, leaving him hard-on and wanting more, and at that moment, it was the perfect opportunity for him to get "revenge" on you.
You were at the meeting together, with Kuai Liang behind you, so you soon felt his warm fingers on your back, making a relaxing pattern, however, soon you would hear the dirty whispers of his husky voice in your ear, things like:
"-You would look beautiful now with that beautiful pussy fitted to my dick, wouldn't you?"
"-Answer me doll, do you want my dick inside of you right now?"
"-You're such a slut, I bet you must be so wet right now..."
And yes, you were, his heat, scent and touches were driving you crazy.
Without warning, Kuai brought you closer, adjusting the chairs so that it created a barrier of vision for anyone trying to see, he soon opened your thighs, exposing your pussy and to make matters worse - you were without panties -
"-You're a whore, you know (Y/N)? Walking around without panties? Did you want me to punish you?" The pyromancer spoke with a sideways smile, as he mercilessly dipped two fingers into your little hole, he used his powers to heat up his body temperature even more and bring the heat to the tips of his fingers, while he curved them towards your sensitive spot, making you whimper and grab his wrist.
"-You love having your pussy fucked by me, such a good slut." He says, your eyes boring into his.
"-Fuck, you're taking my fingers so well..." Kuai Liang moaned as he smiled into your neck, when he realized that you were already dripping on the floor, he removed his fingers quickly, while pulling you out of there.
"-When I'm done with you, you won't be able to walk properly."
Tumblr media
𖤐 BI HAN | SUB ZERO
Tumblr media
Grandmaster is a fucking provocateur, he loves to see you squirm under his touch, regardless of the time or place, you are his extremely sensitive little thing. Bi Han always keeps you on his lap or by his side in meetings and generally, he is the one who governs the entire process.
But that doesn't stop him from teasing you.
He will always order you to wear skirts - regardless of whether you like it or not, it's his order, regardless of what gender you identify too, just wear a skirt and go to the meeting -
Bi Han will place you very close to him, with the chairs placed in a strategic position so that your thighs have free access to him.
He'll soon distract everyone with new mission orders, and lean over to pick something up - an excuse to lightly reach under your skirt and rub your clit, resting his hand there, while you try to hold back your moans and keep your head down, trying to maintain "poker face" but it was impossible
- he'll tease your pussy while he continues his speech, pretending perfectly well that he's not doing anything -
He will insert two fingers roughly inside you, while using his thumb to make circular movements on your clit - he will also take them out in a low, wet snap, quickly, while lightly patting your pussy, teasing the sensitive flesh - he will make you cum right there, squirting on his fingers while lightly wetting the wood of the table with your juices.
When he realizes this, he will smile and dismiss everyone from the meeting, while placing you on the table with your legs open for him.
"-You were a good boy/girl, now let's see how well you do with my dick in your little pussy."

Hello hello!! Could i request Bi han, Kuai Liang and Tomas dealing with the death or fatality injured of their partner/reader? :) and can it be hurt/comfort
Also I really like your writing!! :D
Tumblr media
I kind of did something similar to this for Bi-Han here
Also I did this in the form of headcannons cuz my brain is very eepy and can’t do descriptive sentences rn. So I hope that’s fine. Also I kinda left it with more hurt than comfort. 🦦
Tomas Vrbada
Tomas goes into a somewhat depressed state when you got hurt and would wholeheartedly blame himself for not doing better and not protecting you like he should’ve. You’re his priority, he promised to keep you safe with his and he couldn’t even do that as in the end you were the one fighting for your life.
He berates himself and views himself as a failure for being helpless.
Tomas would become withdrawn from everyone, including his brothers and wouldn’t interact with them unless it were in regards to missions, general Lin Kuei/ Shirai Ryu business, or updates of your progress from the medics when he would visit your in the medbay.
He’s a silent crier, the kind to hold back his own sobs so that no one hears them as they walk past his room and come knocking. And even if he does let out a sob it’ll be into his pillow until it’s fully soaked in his tears and he’s a little lightheaded afterwards.
Tomas feels as though a big part of him was lost within that comatose with you. He just doesn’t take care proper of himself anymore nor cares about the unhealthy coping mechanisms he’s developed during this time, which would consist of continuously getting himself sent on highly dangerous missions in the hopes that it would make him faster them before, stronger then before; forcing him to think a lot more on his feet.
If anything Tomas was training himself for the next time that this would happen, no matter how hard he would wish that it wouldn’t, because life wasn’t going to do him any favours because it never does. So it was all up to him that when it does happen again, he’d be better prepared to stop you from being taken from him again.
Tomas would have frequent nights of unrest, seeing as it was your presence, your warmth that kept him sound asleep, he would venture down to the medbay and sometimes fall sleep outside of the door, where the medics would later find in the morning.
Kuai Liang
Kuai Liang would remain at your side and grasping at your hand, feeling hopelessly lost as he prayed for you to make it through this and come out the other side okay, for his deepest fear was for every second that you didn’t wake up, the lesser the chances there were for you to wake up, for you to come back to him.
So he’s very, very desperate for a man who’s trying his hardest to keep ahold of himself without you.
Kuai Liang would be restless for results, wanting to be the first person to know the progression of your condition, which oftentimes doesn’t do much to help the anger and the upset he feels when he’s given news that he didn’t like. He’s not mad at the medics, nor trying to place blame on them, their trying their best to bring you back and he appreciates the fact that they were pulling out all the stops; he was just trying to find more and more reasons to add to the long list to blame himself for being a shit partner.
He would even mentally prepare himself for the possibility that the last set of memories he’s had of you were of you getting fatally injured under his protection -if he could even could it that- reaching out for him with pain stricken eyes and then you lying in the medbay afterwards, unresponsive and almost lifeless.
Kuai Liang’s simultaneously an angry and a silent crier. He’d clench his fists at his sides as his nails dig into his skin, hoping to feel something besides the anger and the overwhelming guilt that he had been carrying since the moment you’ve been admitted to the medbay. He’d even clench his jaw to prevent himself from crying out and look up at the ceiling as tears brim his eyes.
He doesn’t feel as though he should shed tears for you since it was his fault that you were fighting for your life.
His heart hurts for you, it bleeds for you, he just wants you to come back home and until you do, he’ll be on a revenge murder spree, hunting down every single last person that dared hurt you along with their associates.

Everyone talks about Bi-Han being gullible/stupid etc for believing Shang Tsung + being manipulated by him. But Bi-Han sided with Shang Tsung because he wanted to break the Lin Kuei free from Liu Kang's control. He only accepted the alliance when he saw the Dragon Army and thought they actually had a good chance of winning. Meanwhile it's crickets on Hanzo "I killed your brother for no reason" Hasashi who got played by Quan Chi the man who actually killed his family & clan and whom Scorpion still grovels to. Not to mention that Raiden said he would try to get Hanzo's family restored if he didn't kill Bi-Han and this loser did it anyway. And this is only the tip of the iceberg for how much jackassery this fool pulls across every game. Yet Bi-Han is the irredeemable evil asshole because he *checks notes* says some mean things to his brothers >:( and some of this is done as Noob Saibot which btw loops back to Hanzo because Bi-Han wouldn't have ever become Noob if Hanzo hadn't killed him.
I think the most gullible person in MK1 was in fact Shang Tsung himself, who for some reason believed that a powerful mysterious being showing up out of nowhere would willingly share her power with him. Talk about a new level of naivety!
I have a theory of mine, that Titan Shang Tsung gave enough information about (previous timeline) Sub-Zero to his younger version, because breaking Lin Kuei from Liu Kang’s control was a personal matter to him. Like yes, it would weaken his enemy and bring the planned  chaos and “evilness” into the timeline he despited, but looking at the fact how Lin Kuei in majority of source material was an assassin clan with a strong, old-centuries ties to Shang Tsung, it feels to me likely that "reclaiming" the Lin Kuei was a matter of honor to him. Double so, as some sources went so far and presented elder Sub-Zero if not outright the favorite then one of favorite assassins working for the sorcerer. Frankly, as the story mode shows alone, “Damashi” talked and warned both Shang Tsung and Quan Chi about Lin Kuei before Sub-Zero even met any of them, so there was some behind-the-scenes preparation done and for all we know Bi-Han was targeted by the evil Titan before the main events even unfolded.
As for Bi-Han, right now he has this misfortune to be blamed and hated for everything, whether he actually did it or not, so no matter what is the topic, he is in a losing position by definition. However, like you said, Sub-Zero did not agree on the spot to join Shang Tsung and actually had a chance to see what the supposed allies could offer him so it is not like he fell for empty promises alone. What is important to remember, Lin Kuei were one of major defenders of Earthrealm, so Bi-Han’s choice to switch sides actually would weakened Fire Lord’s forces, leaving him with Shaolin Monks and - depending how in Liu Kang’s timeline military technology evolved - the armed forces of nations that had no idea about Outworld’s threat. But the first part of Shang Tsung and General Shao’s plan was about depriving Sindel and her daughters of the throne, so there is possibility that before Earthrealm would be put in direct danger, Sub-Zero could alter his plans depending how well the teamwork would go with the sorcerers and General Shao.
If Kuai Liang and Tomas were either captured or eliminated from the picture, Liu Kang would not even know that Bi-Han switched sides until the attack - or, if the alliance played smart, Lin Kuei could backstab Fire Lord’s forces from the inside. And in the scenario in which Bi-Han was not captured by his brothers, he still could have an option (backup plan) to play Shang Tsung’s failure to his own gain if he was cunning enough. For example, he could betray the sorcerer to earn Earthrealm’s victory in the important moment and then lie to Liu Kang’s face that was his true plan from the start - the mission has failed, Lin Kuei brothers were outnumbered; he and Scorpion were trapped inside the fortress with Smoke, who if lucky, managed to hide himself (not something Sub-Zero could even knew). With no way to warn the Fire Lord and not seeing a better solution at that moment, under the pretense he is ready to betray Earthrealm, he learned what Liu Kang’s enemy were doing. Then trusting in brother’s skills, on purpose lied to Kuai Liang to piss him off enough so he could get out and reunite with Smoke. And when Bi-Han faced his angry brothers he fought only to let them run away, so they could carry on the important news to Liu Kang, while scarring Scorpion’s face as proof he was on board with Shang Tsung, so no one could doubt him. Because duty comes above family and isn’t that what was expected from Grandmaster and Lin Kuei?  Isn’t that what their father wanted? For them all to serve Fire Lord and Earthrealm at any cost?
And mind you, at this point in the story Sub-Zero had no idea that Liu Kang was in fact once Keeper of Time and had an access to Geras/Hourglass to rewind time and check what actually happened. For all Bi-Han knew then, the lie would be unprovable and, at worst, he would have to earn Fire Lord and his brothers’ trust again but then, it would be much more easy to play on their guilt, how easily they doubted when he was willing to go extra miles for the sacred duty they all talk and talk and talk about. At the same time, the experiences would teach Bi-Han he can’t trust his brothers and in future he needs to be more cunning about breaking out from Liu Kang’s control and probably relying more on Sektor & Cyrax.
(And even if Kuai Liang would be upset, he couldn’t complain, because he is the one that wanted to uphold tradition. Bi-Han could then easily come back to the lie he tried to save father’s life and all the cruel things he said back then were an unpleasant necessity and how could you, my dearest brother, doubt me so easily…?)
Of course, in the end Sub-Zero was captured by his brothers and the possibilities thwarted but my point is, just because Bi-Han joined Shang Tsung, it does not mean he had no longer any autonomy over the course of action or that he wouldn’t make a backup plans for various outcomes. Lin Kuei were trained from childhood to do their duty and as far as we could see, they play the role of black ops for Liu Kang - what most likely also includes espionage. And in the espionage art one must be ready to act at any given moment and plan ahead. Bi-Han said himself, he has no loyalty to Earthrealm nor to Outworld and I do not doubt he would play the game with his survival and Lin Kuei’s best interest in mind. Who he would need to betray in the process would depend on who was winning and who was the most beneficial ally.
I think we all can agree that Lin Kuei mission and Bi-Han’s betrayal was a rushed subplot and both the brothers and emotional impact of the story would benefit more if Sub-Zero wasn’t cut off from the events right away after fulfilling his main purpose - giving a ground for new Lin Kuei vs Shirai Ryu conflict that won’t have any importance until the next games will use it. It is not even a matter if Bi-Han acted logically or not, but more the feeling of incompetence of everyone involved. Nitara and Ermac didn’t raise the alarm the moment when intruders were spotted (and Nitara literally screeched / screamed when she attacked Smoke). Bi-Han didn’t behead Shang Tsung when he had an occasion; instead he idly waited for enemy soldiers to run up to Lin Kuei - and really, if he knew the mission was endangered, he should have used the precious seconds to eliminate the target. Even if he was killed, there would be one enemy less for Liu Kang to deal with. Kuai Liang alone beat all the main fighters, burning the stone soldiers like they were nothing while Smoke, well he had one moment of serious panic and after that was just there, pushed to the background. Bi-Han’s choice and development of his subplot could be taken in interesting, even twisted directions in the hands of capable writers. And by that I don’t mean the intelligence of writers but capability to care for Bi-Han’s plot beyond the need to break Lin Kuei from Liu Kang. Because him acting either on impulse or seizing an opportunity he awaited for years does not mean he needs to stick to Shang Tsung & General Shao to the bitter end. I, for one, would like to see how cunning Sub-Zero could be in such a situation but for that NRS would need to let him be in the story as a full-fledged character that develops alongside the events and not be just there to push events and other characters' storylines forward.
As for original Scorpion, I feel there is in general a great change in perception of his and Sub-Zero’s storylines, as Scorpion in the earliest source materials, including the oldest comics, usually played the role of antagonist, while Sub-Zero even as an assassin could be pretty heroic on his own. Now the roles seems to turn around, however I suspect the main reason why fans give Hanzo benefit of doubt and forgive him any foolish decisions but won’t give Bi-Han the same treatment comes down to this: Hanzo is acting on strong emotions, something we can see by visually aspect of the games and heard him personally speaking about them while Sub-Zero does not externalize his emotions, because such openness is not in his nature (the old comics are better in that aspect but how many people even remember them these days?). It is much easier for fans to forgive character’s “stupidity”, the all wrongly made choices when character will openly admit to be upset, angry, devastated or traumatized than to forgive the one that won't spill out their guts, won’t cry or feel sorry for themselves and will just adapt and go on with their life. People forgive acting on overwhelming emotions when those are all over the place because emotions are something easy to relate - and who of us did not lose control over them at least one? Hanzo is powerful male character in terms of firepower and skills alone but he is also deeply messed up, traumatized man whose life was fucked up and now he is trying hardly to piece it together and to rebuild his sense of humanity and honor. Bi-Han as Noob Saibot just… adapted and moved on with his life and the amount of people he would admit any feeling of regret or injustice done to him I can count on one hand and still have a finger of two free. Meanwhile everyone who cares to learn, knows Hanzo is grieving after his clan and family or is upset or angry and so on. Which is also why I think so many characters (and fans) think Bi-Han as a Noob Saibot is so vile and evil - because in contrast to other Wraiths and/or Revenants, he does not show any sign of trauma, be it leashing out in anger or outrightly speaking how deeply wounded he is, even if he died in no less brutal way than rest of fallen heroes - and isn't it ironic that Kuai Liang was accused about that too? Of not looking traumatized enough because he does not show openly his pain . And accused by Sonya of all possible people?
It’s easier to relate and understand characters wearing emotions on their sleeve because all the reasoning and effects of their actions are either easy to trace and connect or explicitly stated by characters themselves. Hanzo is such a character. He is sad and angry so he acts in a way a sad and angry man would. Bi-Han though? If people except Bi-Han - a characters specifically connected to ice - to spill out his guts how he feels, to cry how unfair his life was and how everyone is mean to him or to vomit the over-sweetened praises for anyone he likes or jump at any occasion to cuddle anyone at arm length to know he feels anything at all, then… Well, that is definitely not the right character for them. Bi-Han just doesn’t work like that and sure, his anger may flare here and there, but as I was pointing out in different metas and analyzes in the past, that man is not overly emotional to begin with, even when talking with people he likes and cares for. I won’t lie, sometimes to understand Sub-Zero’s reasoning one needs to use all imagination and do some mentally gymnastics as the character won’t tell us what is happening inside his head the way Hanzo would. But that can be fun on its own, to examine and analyze and build theories. However, let’s be real here, it is not for everyone and each for their own.

How was Mortal Kombat?
It was badly written, but I expected that! The 90s one isn't winning any goddamn awards, admittedly, but I think it captured the ridiculous spirit of the game in a lot of ways.
And don't misunderstand me, I think Mortal Kombat should ALWAYS have been rated R, it's a video that has always relished in its sheer gore and that's an important component of what it IS, you know? So that was great.
ANd also admittedly, the game is MUCH MUCH more unwieldy now than it was when the 95 movie was made. The lore has sort of gone everywhere and now there are vampires and time travel and oh my god Holligay why do you know all this, you shame your literature degree.
But still, I felt it did what I was afraid it would do--it took itself to seriously to be silly, and so in having to CONSIDER it as a serious movie, I noticed all the ways it fell down.
For starters, I know the studio required Cole Young to be there but MY GOD, was that a huge fucking distraction from what could have been going on in the movie. We have far, far too many characters with far far too many independent motivations and plots and any ONE of them could have made a good movie, but ALL of them just makes a confusing soup.
FOr example, they clearly wanted this movie to be about Sub-Zero and Scorpion's whole ~~drama~~ and I LOVE Scorpion and Sub-Zero's whole drama. But it never explains anything about it, and I don't need there to be a drawn out chart or nothing, but if you don't know MK lore? Fuck you, pal. Sub-Zero going "For the Lin Kuei," who the fuck are the Lin Kuei, a reasonable person not wasting their brain cells on MK lore might ask? You don't need to know, the movie says. "Why is Bi-Han so familiar with 1600s Japan if he's Chinese, and why the fuck is he obsessed with the Shirai Ryu?" REASONABLE! the movie thinks you should shut up and Cole drag out Scorpion's knife for the final fight for...reasons???
DOn't get me wrong, I fucking LOVE Sub-Zero and Scorpion's whole thing!! I would have ADORED a movie about their rivalry and Scorpion coming back from hell to kill SUb-Zero. LOVED. THe first 7 minutes of the movie? HOnestly the best. Into it. But in competition with every other story they were trying to tell, it got lost. The field of this story is TOO CROWDED.
SO like, when Kung Lao gets killed, we feel zero emotional resonance as Liu Kang says, "We were to die, we were supposed to do it together." compelling, if I knew fuck all about their story or closeness or anything like that, but his death came across as meaningless and pointless. Liu Kang's story could have ALSO been its own (much better) movie.
I did not like the Cole Young story at all. He's not an MK character, he was stock and flat, ~inspired by his family~, insert character here type. He bored the shit out of me.
But you know the WORST sin? The fight choreography was not great. You make me a high budget MK movie, I expect GREAT fight choreography. Sub-Zero and Scorpion were pretty good, but everyone else was terribly wanting, with an overuse of special effects and most of them shot in that close, choppy style that helps hide that the actors have no clue how to fight, and that annoying sped up style that tries to convince you mastery is happening here. And a little of that as a decadent seasoning is fine, but it was 85% of the fight scenes. I DON'T WANT YOU TO ACT THE FIGHT SCENES ARE THE REASON I'M HERE. That was the one thing that made me go, "THis isn't fun" was that failure. The 95 movie sucks in many ways, but it also actually involves Robin SHou (Liu Kang) showing he can fight. WHERE ARE YOU ROBIN WE NEED A HERO.
And supposedly Ludi Lin (Liu Kang, present) can fight also??? So why are we DOING THIS??? Why am I not being treated to WILD ASS FIGHT CHOREOGRAPHY.
I actually liked the Arcana concept, which is a movie only thing, as an explanation for Earth folks having powers. A good, quick explanation, I think a lot of fun could be had with the idea, I'm VERY into it.
BUt the whole movie was a mess, and more than that, the whole movie was a fucking training sequence. WE DO NOT ACTUALLY SEE MORTAL KOMBAT AND WE HAVE ALREADY GOTTEN RID OF SUB ZERO, SCORPION, KABAL, NITARA, GENERAL REIKO, KANO, AND KUNG LAO.
Now a handful of those names most people don't know but there are also REAL HEAVY HITTERS FOR THE NOSTALGIA SET.
I'm sure I'll have more "and another thing!!" stuff later, but for now, these were my main issues.

💥 ❄️ || When did it become normal to equate self-worth as a deadly warrior with the number of followers one has? What happened to finding love for oneself from the inside, rather than seeking validation from strangers? Time only moves in one direction, as things always change in its volatility. And the memories and versions comprise of not just one memory, for none of them were right or wrong; they are all pieces, and only when fitted together, edge to edge, could they even begin to tell the whole story. The ongoing perpetuity of the clan wars had rendered all three nearly dusted, dead, and gone, but even in the throes of their shared tribulations and continued trials, as rays of light burn into decomposition of their flesh. For to live, they must metaphorically die and shed existence.
Without the polished resplendent illuminative light in a warrior’s heart and soul, Hanzo Hasashi believes, a heart in darkness is no heart at all; it cannot see, or feel, or touch, or be touched. For a heart in darkness shrinks and shrivels without light. As a seed to a tree, light gives way to seeing the world as it is, not as it should be. With light in hand of the heart, no darkness may ever reign. These were also the words Hanzo Hasashi had taken into his heart and soul - to walk the Earth with purpose, grounded to the earth, and even when he finds himself complaining and in the throes of his torment and agony, would he not ever trade the security of that sure embrace for all the immoral vices that corrupt and further taint his gray morality. He also may be a forlorn figure encumbered in heavily scarred and blemished skin not designed to stretch beyond its limits until inevitable rupture.
He had been a victim of unfortunate circumstances, yet no morbidity of conquering multitudes of near-deaths will stop him from teaching his protégé the importance of forged passion, the resolve of personal philosophy against the old tenebrous black of grief. Everyone is little enraged by the Lin Kuei’s defection from humanity, and Hanzo is more than perceptive of the poisonous anger and resentment Kuai Liang may feel; frozen blood keeping him static, while the inevitable surge of flaming rage becomes destructive, but remain dormant without imminent rage.
Tumblr media
Not only did the recounted telling of Hanzo’s loss, death, and downward spiral to his descension and depression did cauterize a huge gaping hole in Kuai Liang’s own heart; a pit deep dark with edges bloodstained, perhaps still oozing potent sanguine as he keeps poking at the wound. He still feels as if he could drown; in despair, in longing, and in guilt. The triad of his mind’s contagion would hinder his prowess, along with his over-assurance and confidence that would often backfire and render him incapacitated and incapable. “I never fucking wanted this for my life. I refuse to become an eternal child prodigy. My crystalline ice was meant to float like the mighty, fathomless ocean, not splatter and drain like a fucking faucet rusted and corroded beneath the immensity of my chagrin and humiliation.”
The blue of the deep and deadly waters churn, but Kuai Liang knows; in this volatile, wretched world of his, he could not only function himself with depths of desire, as contusions and ugly protrusions of unhealed scars and scabs scattered through his torso will continue to crack and brittle his being. Ryou Sakai had also been risen from the ashes of his demise and made his empire once again. He felt the change in his soul. Something horrid is bout to happen to Liang. He doesn't know when, but he had that feeling. It'll be a dreadful ending to a beautiful story filled with broken memories. He would hope that his cherished warrior and lover doesn't leave those memories up in the sky with the stars. He didn't want them to give up on Kuai Liang, no matter how grim it seemed for the former young Lin Kuei’s future. Ryou would wish these thoughts to be false so he wouldn't have to say goodbye... In the end, it's futile. For his demise could very well be brought down from the heavens, and despite his genuine concerns and words of caution, the reckless onion in him will do whatever it fucking takes to see his former clan burn in detritus of blood and gravel.
Upon the deep contemplation of Liang’s disquietude in tormented agony, Ryou Sakai deliberates his thoughts and stance. “If your mind is weak, even a minor difficulty is oppressive… but exerting yourself and invigorated, you should be strengthened enough for your being to become so hard to defeat even by great calamities. So, with a firm mind, you should make difficulty for difficulty. For so long as difficulties conquer you, your desire to conquer your wretched, damned world could become laughable.”
“For your need to must conquer everything will destroy you in the end. Nothing should conquer you in that regard, for this pride or yours should be wedded to you. Do you see the utmost fault in this, Liang? However more experienced we both become, we are still prone to our respective trials and tribulations. The path to improvement and greatness is never linear, but with great ups and downs. And know that your existence here is not the state of tabula rasa. It is what you make yourself to be, regardless of your past insights as an individual, a warrior, and a survivor.”  💥 ❄️ ||

🍎Little Moments - Those Who Walked Before You
Pairing & Characters: Hanzo Hasashi/Kuai Liang Length: 499 Words Rating: General Warnings: Family trees, Mentions of Orphans and Orphanages, Being unfamiliar with family tree, I may be foreshadowing another WIP in this one I'm sorry, Also I like Joe Taslim's implication that Mama Zero was the Cryomancer so I'm sort of fitting that into this with the current timelines SZ bros backstory of being taken by the Lin Kuei. Prompt: Ancestors
Little Moments Masterlist
Note: Requested by @thetrueweaveroffate
"That's quite the family tree," Kuai commented, looking at the long paper before him. Hanzo had been able to track every part of his family history. He had at least 8 generations of ancestors recorded.
"Bloodline was important to the Shirai Ryu, records were kept meticulously." Hanzo tilted his head. "The original was partially destroyed, but I managed to recover most of it, and actually add to it as well."
"I have to admit, I'm a little envious."
"Did the Lin Kuei not take records like this?" Hanzo questioned, rolling the paper up.
"Only those within the Lin Kuei," Kuai explained. "And that is mostly because of the Sub Zero title." Kuai watched Hanzo for his reaction, he barely did, aside from his brows drawing together ever so slightly.
"What about your father? He wasn't Lin Kuei was he? Have you tried looking into his family?"
"I have, but he was an orphan, and the orphanage he grew up in didn't have record of where he'd come from," Kuai sighed. It had taken so long to find the place his father grew up, only to be told that he had been abandoned on the doorstep. "I did find out my mother had also grown up there as well, they were childhood sweethearts."
"And she is your Grandfather's daughter?" Hanzo asked, clearly trying to put everything together in his head.
"Yes, and from there I know my Lin Kuei ancestors," Kuai explained. It wasn't hard to trace that aspect of his family, everyone who'd held the title Sub Zero was related to him in some way. "But it seems when my Grandmother left her at the orphanage, she did not leave any information either."
"Did you ever ask your brother? Or even your Grandfather?" Hanzo had his hand on his chin, gaze intense clearly deep in thought.
"I did once. Bi-Han knew about as much as me, and my Grandfather..." His Grandfather was a stern man most of the time. He had somewhat of a soft spot for Kuai, but his reaction to being asked about Kuai's Grandmother had been unusually violent. He had been too scared to ever ask again.
The silence stretched between them, before Hanzo cleared his throat and said "this really upset's you, doesn't it?"
"Yes," Kuai whispered, voice cracking slightly. "My culture has heavy emphasis on respecting your ancestors and making them proud. How am I supposed to do that if I do not know who they are?"
Hanzo hummed, placing his hand on Kuai's cheek, planting a kiss on his temple. "I can help you look. I won't stop until you know everyone who walked before you."
Kuai choked back a sob, though now one of happiness and relief. "I would appreciate that. Thank you." He gave Hanzo a short chaste kiss. "I'm lucky to have a man like you. I love you."
"And I love you, my snowflake."
