A frustrating development with the growing lack of reading comprehension I've personally noticed is an emerging fervor of insisting things aren't canon unless they are explicitly stated beyond all reasonable doubt.

I can not emphasize enough how harmful a mindset this is to have. Yes, it's wonderful to have characters outright say "I'm trans," but to deny a character's identity for not saying that is dangerous.

Plenty of real people prefer not to use specific labels. Historically, people didn't have our modern terms or modes of expression. Many modern cultures don't use these terms, either, and plenty of people within those that do can't safely openly identify.

If the only representation you accept as canon is within modern (and let's be honest, wealthy white able-bodied American) standards, then you are denying yourself and others a huge amount of representation and seriously limiting the media around you.

i hate seeing shit about shelby’s abuse and people calling it the “wilbur and shelby situation” and then other people saying “it’s not the wilbur and shelby situation it’s the shelby situation with wilbur allegations” like babes you are so fucking close. YOU SRE RIGHT THERE

It’s not the wilbur allegations, wilbur wasn’t mentioned or involved whatsoever! Let shelby heal and move on. it’s shubbles situation, nothing more, nothing less. sure there’s things that line up , but that doesn’t fucking matter unless wilbur comes out and admits it, or shelby actively says it was wilbur.

innocent until proven guilty and believe all victims are two things that can coexist and there is little to no nuance on tiktok where conversations like the ones described above are being had.

i also saw someone on here say something along the lines of “good people can do shitty things, good people can be bad in a relationship, good people can be the bad in a relationship ” and i agree, but that is not a conversation many are willing to have, they will jump straight to conclusions and make a woman’s story of abuse about a man.

edit (2/27/24) he posted an 'apology' on twitter, I don't know how I feel about it but he did it. Wilbur abused shelby while they were in a relationship together. He is guilty of what he was speculated of. official ruling imo: fuck that guy

The new 20+ second long ads with really glitchy skip buttons were bad enough, but today I paused a video and it fucking pulled up a sidebar next to the paused video to show me a Lexus ad. PSA before I Lose My Mind

I have said this already in the forecast. Season One is updated. Season two is not. So importing your save from a new season one into an old season two when that season two is not updated to match season one means it won't work. So all of you facing bad imports, well, that's cause Season two isn't updated. It's not really shocking and more so expected.

Stop giving me bugs on the Season Two link which is literally being updated. Why are you playing Season Two when it's supposed to be updated this month? Why?!

Stop telling me "update this on Season Two" because now Season One has it. Factoring in that I did it to Season One means that I will be doing it to Season Two.

Really just leave me alone period. I have never had more of a headache and this is just updating a damn game. It's not even writing it.

So I blanked ’em out. One particular one: My dad used to say to my mom when she’d get tired, “Why don’t you go upstairs and have 40 winks?” And you better believe I never said that to Linda. I’d say, “Do you want to nap?” I never used the expression “40 winks.” You get superstitious in those circumstances. So yeah, there were all too many echoes of it, really.
