i do think the team working in the adaptation did a great job unironically.

#txt #like i appreciate it a lot more now :3 #like they did think it through and and organized key points. and i think being shorter did benefit the development of some relationships #1. kei and kaneda have vibe but it's not romance. 2. intead of volumes where kaneda and tetsuo dont interact in the movie .since theres #not so many empty spaces of time. they get to feel closer to the audience? i mean it accentuates tetsuo's conflic over kaneda etc #kei and ryuu also dont spend all those volumes apart either #reducing akira's screentime obfuscates his apathetic macguffin role xd and keeps all this mysticism and intrigue #cuts of so many chase scenes and confusing military scheme etc etc

(forever) wips below are: scene redraw (that i actually started on way before posting mobsai here. crazy !), and teru in an outfit i saw at the mall once (denim dress. dress made of NOTHING but denim. it caught me off-guard but i think i was just being too harsh <3 he was going to wear those galaxy leggings all middle schoolers wear with it as well)

originally this post was just gonna be me posting pretty old wips that i never finished cuz ive been sick (i actually feel way better now tho) and lazy but then i started perusing some more of my older mobsai doodles and unfinished arts and decided to post those alongside the ones above :) i just think its fun to see how my art has developed grown and changed over a period of time, especially with the designs of these characters

do u ever think about how crazy it is that undertale came out with its insane amount of unambiguously queer characters in fucking 2015

#trousled rambles #undertale #MAYBE this is just the byproduct of my being 11 in 2015 but while i know things were still getting more normalized back then #i'm fairly certain queer stories weren't anywhere NEAR as accepted as they are now #steven universe was running but iirc it was only just starting to clearly show its gay shit.. its so wild to me idk #hell obergefell v. hodges was only passed 3 months before ut came out. 3 months!!!!!!#you could point at literally any NPC in this game and say that they use they/them pronouns and you'd be more likely to be right than wrong #listen its that time of year again where i start getting emotional about this game ok its just such a treasure man its so much to me!!!!!!!!#it was given a lot of credit for being groundbreaking when it came out for its story & battle system yeah and it def deserved it #but i haven't seen much recognition of this aspect which i think should also be appreciated!! so much!!!!!!

There’s nothing Bad going on in my life, but the past day has been very emotionally heavy and I have a pretty important thing I’ll be doing tonight/tomorrow, and I’m a bit worried that it’s gonna be too much for me to handle. Lupin iii as a series is so funny. It's been around for over 50 years, but you don't need to (and probably shouldn't) watch every series in order, yes you can split them up between jackets, except when you can't, the cast is full of loveable characters, but no, not that iteration, there's 6 series and also a bunch of movies! A handful are good, no I don't remember which ones, there are 48 of them, it's all based off a manga, it is highly divorced from its source material, it's about a bunch of silly goofy guys committing crime, it's about a bunch of jackasses doing terrible things, it's always a little bit fruity, it's a brilliant piece of art, it's the stupidest shit I've ever watched, its-

Finally finished Attack on Titan. My God. Just. Wow.

#I started it when it first came out then was very odd and on #I eventually watched like 3 seasons in and never watched the last season or the long finale eps #I started getting my brother more into anime over the last like 2 years or so #he discovered AOT and finished it a while ago now and has been pushing for me to finish it too for like probably over a year at least #I’ve always been reluctant cause it’s such a heavy show and I had to be in the mood #finally the stars aligned tonight and we watched the final finale ep.#I cried several times.#it was perfect #it was painful and perfect #my fucking heart #hard to believe I finally finished it after over a decade from when I started it #and now I have lots of convos about it with my brother to look forward to #we’ve already discussed plenty tonight. but it’s getting late and idk if my brain’s even fully processed it all #attack on titan #top tier in my books #I don’t think I could ever do justice to the show trying to explain what was so good about it #gotta appreciate the little things. need to take the time to look at where I am rather than just where I want to reach.#peace and freedom are always worth reaching for even if war and suffering are inevitable to life. cherish the lives around you.#those are my takeaways from the series. those are the messages I received. and what a tragic and beautiful journey it was.

not to mention that he’s actually the Duke of Dreams, and she is whisked away to the Celestial Realm which is on the brink of disaster, plagued by demonic monsters

#Song of the Six Realms #aroaessidhe 2024 reads #first. the tragedy of having a MC with a significant scar across her face and then not showing that on the cover…..#(I doubt that's the artist's fault btw. it's very nice otherwise)#this is okay. it’s pretty slow paced but then also has a lot happening at the end. I found some of the pacing weird like:#the first chapter just explaining the MC’s life up until now; when they travel for 3 weeks ‘and often sleep on the side of the road'#- damn that’s so different from her life experience up until now and you’re not gonna expand on that???.#and overall a lot of their relationship is told to us like “and then we had a really long conversation about x”.#I’m not sure I super cared about them or their relationship. and yknow; teen x immortal man #I read this because I saw the author say that she wrote the MC as demi - which I guess I can see if I’m looking for it #but it’s basically just in the sense of she’s not immediately attracted to the love interest and has never had the chance to think about #to be fair she’s mentioned it more in an offhand way rather than actively promoting it as being demi so I’ll accept that #I did enjoy the descriptions of the monsters and some of the celestials! that was cool! I wanted more of it.#I also appreciated the casual queer side characters and the way that queerness was accepted in the human world #(but the gods are weird about it - I feel like more often fantasy is the opposite)

wait actually this one post makes a good point i wish there was actually tags to separate between hsr and hi3 bronseele and on that note actually any of the overlapping characters alskdjfha but the search engine sucks ass on this website so you'll always have overlap either way i think :I
