i know it's The Thing to be upset and existential on this site but honestly? there's something so comforting about being 19. i was terrified of entering my last year of teenagehood. i have spent every year since 16 hating the passage of time and feeling like my youth was slipping away from me, and something about 19 was huge to me. it felt like the last rung on a ladder, the last step, the final show, like it was all coming to an end and i'd have to figure my life out now.

but really if turning 19 was anything then it was anticlimactic. i spent so long dreading this year that now im here it's sort of like 'oh, yeah actually people still very much see me as a child and none of my peers have their shit together either'. because newsflash, in the grand scheme of things, anything younger than 30 is still considered very young. and now that dread is gone from my life, i've found myself really looking forward to my twenties. i cant wait to have a life for myself, to surround myself with people i choose, to have my own place that i can decorate and make homely and invite friends around whenever i want, to be able to finally say and think the things i want without being crippled by the teenage terror of being seen as too weird, too cringey. i can't wait to let myself be myself. i think it's really exciting

speaking of overdoing things, mentions of 414 are starting to get a bit tasteless, especially that the number isn't really meaningful in-universe - yes i know that's henry's assigned subject number - but 414 really started as a joke from one of the developers which was picked up by theorists. that meaning was given by fans and it doesn't seem to have any satisfying origin in-universe. yes henry has the 414 subject number *now*. what does it refer to? there's a few theories (like we used to theorise about it waaay before batdr) but there's nothing that's really clearly stated. if it's just gonna be a number that appears cuz ooooo oooh look its a number you guys like isn't this fun like jiggling car keys in front of a baby that's gonna get old Pretty Fast. but maybe they are planning to give it a meaning, i'd be looking forward to it

i will give them that the game being officially developed by Gent Corporation is kind of funny

it seems like they're trying to alleviate responsibility for Whatever Horrors That Happened Really off of JDS shoulders (and joey's by extension) and put the blame on gent for being The freak evil corporation and im not sure how to feel about that (weeeeeell i do not like this direction the way it is looking now. i would have liked it more if it was executed differently)

my thoughts are that this is going to be a game that will not really answer any questions or will answer questions we didn't/wouldn't have but it will be more or less entertaining while we wait for the main course (the cage)

It literally doesnt matter to me what purpose "Cayde" will play in The Final Shape. There is not a single part of this I can like. I will now try to cover every reason why without getting outlandishly mad. Maybe some ppl will appreciate this.

1. Firstly, from a marketing stand point. I strongly dislike and disagree that our first ever teaser for The Final Shape is entirely a Cayde tease. Not just in the trailer but in the articles Bungie themselves posted, they are clearly pushing Cayde's "return" and his original VA as a big deal. The big deal. This is supposed to be why you preorder Final Shape, why you get excited for the very last expansion to this saga that's been building up for... eight, nine years? It's for the return of the dead franchise character. I feel this is a total disgrace and a complete slap in the face to any fan who cares about anything else in Destiny 2.

2. Secondly, there is right out the gate no way for me to like Cayde's return narratively. I am already braced that this is not actually Cayde, but it doesn't matter. What is this going to do to the plot of The Final Shape? What does this say about the upcoming story's focus? Lightfall literally just bombed on arrival for not answering questions, not having narrative focus, and for introducing and answering new mysteries in record time without tackling old mysteries. It was rushed sloppy and overly focused on showcasing Strand, the big *draw* for Lightfall, a new subclass. So this? Inspires no confidence.

3. What does Cayde coming back, even briefly, do to the last 3-4 years of storytelling since Forsaken? What does that do to the franchise's commitment for spending at least a full year tackling the issues of grief, rage, revenge in direct association with Cayde's story? This isn't including the continued storyline of Crow and Holliday who have served as legacy extensions of Cayde's story ever since. What does Cayde returning bring that is so essential to undermine and uproot so many months of well laid lessons on acceptance towards what a Guardian can and can't control?

4. Remember how Amanda Holliday just died? Remember how Holliday's last season was spent with her outright refusing to truly forgive Crow because Uldren killed Cayde, turning down his feelings for her? I don't think anyone is fully accepting that Holliday's only true story purpose since Beyond Light was to wrestle with her grief about Cayde in contrast to her budding relationship with Crow. And now she's dead. And now *Cayde's back*. It's almost comically cruel. And no, I don't think any of this would be "fixed" with Holliday coming back as a Guardian.

5. Cayde dying was, for so many people, a sort of narrative "promise" being made. Destiny was a narrarive with grim consequence, heavy themes, and now dead beloveds. No character is safe- this is how strongly the Darkness can play us even through like seven proxies. Cayde dying was the heartbreaking action of forces so much bigger than us playing a game we hadn't even yet conceptulized until his death. It was a turning point. Since then, Destiny has tried to find the right balance in who lives and dies in the story and the tone it wants to give to the spare opera. In my opinion, they haven't been striking out and this trailer truly spells to me that whatever promise fans thought they had made about the gravity of this story is squandered.

hes just.. so innovative. his character work is absolutely fucking masterful, no matter which one it is. all of them are so delightfully different from one another but you can still see the same man behind all of them and thats just talking about the range of the character work and the clear work and effort he puts into everything he does, be it just the characters themselves, the promos, in-ring work, anything. he always goes all out, hes creative as hell with them (name me one other person that gets over with a box on their head i dare you) and it truly shows how loving and passionate he is about this whole wrestling thing and that he just absolutely gets it. also he just has fun with it and it shows. anything from cocky indie superbad to coward best husband superbad to boxman to whatever the cringe failure era was lmao and now the sex idol. he just does it all and he does it flawlessly and i will throw hands with tk if he doesnt capitalize on this man soon i sWEAR TO GODDAMN

his in-ring work is incredibly good. watch literally any sequence hes ever had with orange cassidy and you see what i mean. hes improved from that too (since the last one of those was a quite long while ago now), he can hang with pretty much anyone. i like it the way he says it himself, he can literally make anyone look good and no one has ever complained about having to work with him in the ring. which says a lot about how good and talented he is imo. he can do it all, be it more grounded moves or recently hes been doing a lot more jumps and top rope moves which! exciting!! cause it just adds to his arsenal and shows off that flexibility even more and its just so insanely good. like fuck man if you can get someone who can hang one-on-one with someone like vikingo like he did a few weeks back, thats a fucking keeper. dont you dare forget that

im not gonna take this moment to talk about his promo stuff cause i will literally be here forever. watch this and get back to me later about why im right that hes incredible at this shit with the tone and again character work and just overall presentation. even if its now a bit more comedic with the sex idol, its still an absolute delight. also i could listen to him talk forever, he has my favorite voice in the entire world and his accent is delicious and good fucking lord

What role does the symbiote/Venom play in the Apprentice AU?

Does Quentin put the pieces together sooner? Does the symbiote, & by extension Eddie feel jealous of Quentin for 'taking Peter away'?

Ooh!! Okay so things are a bit different from the show in a few ways by the point the symbiote comes to earth, which shakes up everything. SO lets hit the highlights and i hope this makes sense, please let me know if it doesnt. All subject to change  but this is how i think it will go. (also if some of the ideas are probably accidentally stolen im very sorry @kzele, you are amazing talking about characters and their reactions so inspired credit goes here as a blanket) 

1. Peter turns down the initial offer from the Connors lab. He does not have the time and he honestly feels like he wants to go into computer tech and coding when he grows up rather than anything with bio-chemistry. Not that he dislikes the subject!! He just wants to focus on growing his tech skills. Quentin has also introduced him to the patent process and he owns at least one. 

The fact that it was not paid really did not help sell it. So he can't have been fired after the lizard incident because he was never hired. Whoot whoot. 

2. Stepping backwards in time; if I understand the plot line of the show,  Peter is bit a year before the show. In the first episode, a teacher says it was ‘last year’ but i know American teachers who refer to january as ‘last year’ since its previous school year. so it happened in March or May. I would put Peter meeting Quentin a while before that in like October the year before. 

So this is a clearer time line:

Peter meets Quentin, Eddie has conflicted feelings when he finds out that Peter has found a mentor (jealousy that peters time is taken up by others, jealousy that peter found another adult that cared about him), Then the trip to the lab where peter gets bit happens in late march. Peter figures out his powers and really really wants to make some money with this. He says nothing to Quentin or his uncle or aunt about it. Then Uncle ben gets shot in may. Peter goes mute and focuses on becoming spiderman. Gets the crook. SUMMER. Peter ends up taking some photos and Quentin convinces him to have a photographer ‘pen’ name. Its a bit of extra cash on the side while he works towards creating stuff.

After the summer Eddie is a freshman in college and is at the lab working. Gwen comes to work there. Peter does not. 

Eddie has been sorta in and out of contact ever since he graduated, but does call up peter every once in a while and is a little disappointed his “bro” didnt jump at the opportunity. He goes to talk to Peter about it and Peter gives a little shrug and shows off one of his Kinkajou drones and eagerly talks about the new career he wants. And Eddie sort of gets it.

3. Since there is no bad blood, Eddie does manage to swing getting Peter to look at the alien. From a distance!! And Peter keeps that distance, but is super excited. Eddie is really happy to have given his friend an opportunity most people cannot provide.  (he notices peters bumps and bruises and is super worried, has been since the end of the summer.)

4. Sadly. It escapes. Because black cat still is a person who wants to crime. So she crimes. It latches onto Peter, and is able to spend a few days with him. Then Peter pops into Quentin’s lab one day while Quentin has the music bumpin. And its a little louder than spider senses like and is way more than the symbiote likes. Peter feels the pain in his brain and ends up falling over as it tries to hold on. Quentin puts it in a strong container and then rouses Peter. Peter is like!!! Back to the lab!!! 

He gets it back to the lab and relocks it in. Eddie sees Spidey doing this. Spidey, since there has been no major incident doensnt try to murder it. However, it does escape onto eddie and feeds on his insecurity of being alone in college and Peter moving on and all the stress of trying to manage his life. He can have peter as his bestie again. They’ll be close brothers again. And peter will stop showing up with bruises. The symbiote promises. 

At this point i think venom would beef with mysterio and be his main villain instead of spidey lol and mysterio’s just out here trying to be a grey villain anti hero thing. Venom also tries to get spidey off the streets. To protect peter. Never mind what peter wants lol

Chasshiro is so funny he doesnt even realize how much hes spoiling Taiya... Its really good how defensive he gets over it. "Well actually you too-!" eehhh? so petty!!! Well hes not wrong, Genba is also really "sweet" on him lol... the girls are fighting

Rika Matsumotos delivery (heh) of Bunchans lines in this episode was really good... When Bundorio said he was wandering around and crashed, then was surprised he was alive... was he despairing so much that he lost the will to live? Literally, but also in the way of "im living but am I actually alive" sort of meaning? Jou says later on, dreams are what keep you alive... Bun-chan... :(

Interestingly, their roles reversed here! Bundorio was originally the racer, and the way he acts, Taiya is definitely the mechanic. In car racing, the pit crew are also in charge of delivering the racecar back on the track, i love themes!!

Also in this scene, the production blog mentioned it was Iuchis idea to have Taiya eating one of Genbas lollipops, thats really good! I didnt expect them to know eachother even before Bunchan appeared (I guess Genba is the one who gave him a tow truck to move the unconscious Bun-chan!

Poor Yarucar!!! Hearing it cry was really sad! You put a bandaid on it, but then you kick Yarucar! You kick it like the football! No good!!!!!

Saibu Shirabe was also extremely good in this episode! I love a woman that drives like a maniac. Also... in reference to what Chasshiro said before, that Taiya is short on words... It just means hed rather show people or make people understand first hand! I feel i understand his character a lot better when he told Saibu "Maybe youll understand after you make a delivery". What well thought out character logic!!!

I really like that the resolution of their argument wasnt "Well, youve convinced us that your dream is noble so well follow you" but rather "It is okay to be a selfish dreamer, and so we will all each be selfish!"

Mira wants to hold her own steering wheel so she wants to make it clear that shes doing it because she wants to, Jou wants to be a hero, and an extension of that is protecting peoples dreams to protect their lives, Genba wants to cling onto his special seat!!

im curious since Andromeda has terminal haunted by mom thoughts behavior and a weirdoes connection to Emet selch, what's her thoughts/relationship to hydaelyn/venat? cuz she kind of comes out the gate swinging and just straight up calls the player character her child in early visions. I suppose its equally likely hydaelyn was just too vague for a while for her to have very concrete feelings about it, and perhaps a more traditionally maternal style doesnt resonate enough to be very affecting, but im curious as to how she felt about All That

so the short version is a little of column A, a little of column B– the truly overwhelming aura of maternal love that hydaelyn exudes unsurprisingly hit her like a goddamn truck, but perhaps not how you might expect. 

circa. ARR, when she was first given the title of Hydaelyn’s Little Superstar, she was very lost in the sauce of an uncomplicated Narrative of Heroism. as she does not come from a place where hydaelyn is even recognized as god, she was mostly caught up in the excitement of being chosen by a divine entity that she wasn’t even fully convinced was real, like, a week earlier. like, i think she would’ve thought of being referred to as Her child as something closer to set dressing, the sort of thing an all-powerful goddess is supposed to say, rather than something hydaelyn genuinely means and feels, let alone something she can actually internalize.

(a brief aside, thinking about this made me suddenly realize that in the absence of hydaelyn as an uncontested presence in the god-rejecting society she grew up in, the closest cultural equivalent would then be……. solus zos galvus. i will be unpacking the profoundly deranged implications of this parallel another time.)

however, you’re completely correct to hone in on the fact that hydaelyn’s maternal love being, like, what maternal love is actually supposed to be would throw andromeda, who’s never really had that modeled for her, for a loop. the slow, dawning realization that that’s how it’s supposed to feel would creep up slowly, without fanfare, only really crescendoing during endwalker

her time with venat was odd for her, in that it left her feeling deeply, deeply sad for reasons she struggled to articulate. perhaps this is a very revealing comparison to make, but i can really only liken it to the feeling of observing a closely-knit and happy family that you aren’t a part of and feeling an odd sense of loss that you didn’t get to have what they do. as a person, rather than a distant, inhuman entity, it was suddenly undeniable how genuine venat’s unfathomably deep love for the world, and her by extension, was, and i think it would probably make her heart ache to know that such a thing could exist, or that maternal love could come without the baggage she knows it to, and that she had had such a thing all along and not known it until right before she had to let it go

because everything is a part of my grand scheme (<- lie) i do love how this ties in very nicely with her relationships to both her real mom (lucretia) and her fake evil not-mom (emet), in that going into endwalker’s climax where she needs to finally see herself for who she truly is rather than simply The Hero, a huge part of her growing up is also seeing her parent as a full person with interiority as well. stripping the veneer of straightforwardness from how she understands and interacts with all three of these characters at more or less concurrent points in her arc simply feels right <3

like. text is flat, which is why punctuation is ungodly important in written fiction. use it right and the audience will read it with the right mental inflection.

that's why tone reading falls flat as soon as you hit online social spaces--we arent narrating in places like tumblr or twitter, we're TALKING. sure we've got exclamation points and question marks and periods and all, but there isnt anywhere near enough punctuation marks in existence to properly convey every little nuance present in speech. in text you have no vocal intonation, no nonverbal communication (expressions, gestures, tics) to further clarify what's being said behind what's being actually said.

so those of us present in online social circles invented our own social intonation to help each other communicate as many of the little nuances not present in text as possible.

like, i'm putting a flat period here at the end of a sentence.

to most of us who've been communicating online for years, that 'flat' period reads as incredibly harsh and borderline hostile depending on context, so a lot of us tend to omit it entirely in casual dialogue.

the more punctuation marks you use at once, the stronger the 'tone' it conveys. for example:

doesnt so much read as a question as the mark implies. willing to bet most people in online social circles will 'hear' disbelief, shock, or excitement from an overabundance of question marks.

overabundance of exclamation points? you are feeling A WHOLE LOT and just NEED TO GET IT OUT!!!!!! doesnt matter what it is you're feeling but you SURE ARE FEELING IT!!

periods? well they sure do draw things out...........and depending on context can function either like a comedic twist on the traditional use of ellipses or a purposeful extension of spoken Dramatic Pauses those traditional dot-dot-dots just don't properly convey.

then there are the little oddball vernacular rules such as:

using a question mark at the end of what would otherwise be a flat statement because, somehow, our brains translate that to a verbal uptick in tone, basically the text format of a shrug, and if someone asks what for all you can do is say "idk it just feels right?"

keysmashes. we all know. we just do.

you're in the middle of typing something and decide you Need To Capitilize These Specific Words. why?

mikado- has trouble navigating social situations and responding "appropriately" to them, and his vocal inflection that doesn't necessarily "match" feelings,. his special interest is the dollars and watching the interactions between them and studying what impact his actions have on them. hes just like izaya fr. i feel like the paralels between them dont get talked abt enough. mikado is izaya if he got scared straight at the end of his middle school homoromantic friendship that resulted in him being stabbed instead of going hm. this will have long term consequences on me actually

masaomi- has trouble understanding the motivations and feelings of others. he masks strongly with his confident "ladies man" persona.

anri- she has a lack of vocal inflection, doesnt make eye contact, has trouble navigating social situations, her vocal inflection doesnt necessarily "match" her feelings. she has sensory issues (wears her her hoodie dress because she likes the sensory input, not to little and not too much.) relies on a routine (nothing ever happens nothing ever changes).

celty- uses strong body language yet struggles to read the body language of others. mirrors extensively. she mirrors everyone to a degree but especially shinra and shizuo. this should not be news to anyone just LOOK at them. i love them.

her dramatic body language is 100% mirrored from shinra. since she spends a lot of time with him and he emotes so strongly she's memorized his body language in association with certain emotions and performs them when shes feeling that emotion. (in SH she's even depicted as rolling around on the floor when shes upset, which is something shinra does 18436 times.) is shown to occaisonally wear regular clothes (mostly pajamas) when shes capable of making anything with her shadow which to ME implies she's seeking the sensory input from the soft fabric. she also tends to think in extremes, everything is very black and white for her.

shinra- has trouble regulating his emotions and helps himself regulate by stimming (dancing/wiggling when hes happy, rolling on the ground when hes upset, getting very still when hes concentrating or anxious.) over emotes to match the intensity of his emotions regardless of the situation. his neutral expression and tone of voice are hyper and excitable. has trouble understanding social cues and social norms. wears the lab coat ALL the time to the point that other characters comment on it. not something a neurotypical man does. his special interests are surgery and human anatomy. he genuinely loves his job in part because even though there's an anatomy "standard" no human body ever actually looks like the illustrations. he loves to study the variances he notices in his work and loves to perfect surgical techniques.

shizuo- has trouble regulating his emotions. his neutral expression and tone is said to be flat and without affect. struggles with overstimulation (wears the blue lens sunglasses to avoid the bright sunlight, wears his vest fitted at the chest for the slight compression) (because hes TRANSGENDER and really liked how his binder felt. brought to u by me who had a phase where i was binding unsafely purely for the stim of it. dont do that btw i can no longer bind at all 🤪) he has meltdowns when he gets too overstimulated. he enjoys uneventfullness and routine but from a combination of powers that be and his tendency to escalate situations when hes upset, he doesnt get much of that. escalates situations due to losing his emotional regulation. he also has trouble reading situations as well as trauma that leads him to constantly feel on edge and anxious.

izaya- somehow the only canonically autistic character. he has a strong mask in his usual calm vaugely smug demeanor that slips when he feels strongly about something. (stomping on the cell phone, laughing when he's delighted by human behavior, punching the telephone pole.) he has very black and white thinking that often gets interpreted as being morally grey. (he is btw. literally everyone in drrr is. its the morally grey fucked up characters media idk what you want) he would describe his special interest as humanity (and does, in canon) but its more sociology and human behavior. just like shinra, hes always in that damn coat. autism behavior.

walker and erika- they are autistic in the same font. twins. besties. wear comfortable clothes for sensory reasons (although erika's interest in fashion is enough incentive for her to sometimes dress up despite the sensory issues it causes. me too tho.) both have a special interest their light novels. both dont understand social norms and theyre both aware of that and neither of them care. legends.

saburo- struggles with social interactions. special interests in his van (possibly cars in general) and ruri hijiribe. had no idea he was autistic until he met walker and erika who assumed he already knew. looked at one (1) website and suddenly his whole life made sense.

seiji- his usual speaking voice is very monotone and his facial expressions are typically pretty reserved. like izaya and celty he thinks a lot in black and white.

mairu- her speaking voice is very monotone and she doesnt tend to express her emotions outwardly. she's selectively verbal also. likes her gym clothes for sensory reasons.

kururi- autism/adhd combo platter legend and we love that for her. special interest in martial arts. she doesnt quite get social norms nor does she care.

manami- i dont have solid evidence for this one i just know that is the hairstyle of an autism hero.

kasuka- speaks in a monotone, has one facial expression, doesnt outwardly show his emotions (altho ppl close to him can still read them). doesnt comprehend neurotypical socialization but gets along really really well with other autistic people.

ruri- she is just like kasuka fr. walker and erika moment with these two.

saki- masks really heavily but is bad at it. me too girl. when shes comfortable and not masking she somehow seems less stiff.

akane- really struggles with figures of speech. hates eye contact. special interest in art and drawing and i hope she starts making art again. i love akane thats my child and the entire awakusus child and shizuos child also.

vorona- she speaks in a monotone and HATES eye contact. she gets away with not making any by always looking at her book instead. reading as a special interest. she has an amazing memory.

slon- struggles with figures of speech and emotional regulation.

kasane- also speaks in a monotone. takes everything very literally. another strong black and white thinker. special interest in cats and cat behavior. cats LOVE her. cats always love autistic legends. also the yellow pantsuit? a slay. no nt person would ever pick that up.

First, love the new theme btw. Yaoshi is also my fav aeon from the aeons we currently know! They are so pretty and divine and i did have a huge stupid smile when Yaoshi kissed us in the simulated universe THEY JUST WANTED US TO STAY SAFE!!!!!!! I sometimes wonder if Hoyoverse is just building them up to be someone you should hate just to make plot twist that turns out, them just simply doesnt know the horrible results their actions does. They do it with good intention but didnt know the results would be bad. But i honestly like their ambiguous morality that hoyoverse have for most of the aeons because well they’re aeons they’re gods ofc they wont follow human morality.

Second, your second oc you have rn is pretty interesting. So i have QUESTIONS!

1. What do they look like? Ik that you said you’re not finished with their design but are they like in a child/teen body but has the mentality of an adult? (Something similar to bailu i guess)

2. What are their element?

3. What does the other aeons think of Ambrose? Like ‘why the hell does Yaoshi have a little human with them’

4. Is Lan and by extension the Xianzhou Alliance aware of Ambrose’s existance and special connection towards Yaoshi? since their relationship with the said Aeon isnt the typical relationship an emanator and aeon would have (i hc that Yaoshi is known to particuraly have a good relationship with their emanators but Ambrose is noticably their favourite one child)

Thirdly, can i just say something? Since i get busy a lot, I dont get to instantly play the new update which sadly leads me to be easily spoiled. Case in point, Tingyun infamous neck snap. I was just casually scrolling on youtube when i saw ‘Tingyun neck snapping in 4 languages’ Like wth youtube!? I try to just forget about it but the mind could never. By the time i do get to play and get to play the quest, i already knew her fate and just keep giving her the side eye. Ik her fate but idk the reason and stuff leading up to it. i agree!!!! you cannot call an aeon "good" or "evil." none of them are either of those things. good and evil are just human perceptions of morality, and divine beings like aeons cannot be placed into those human boxes (which is why i think the xianzhou's attitude towards yaoshi is so. odd. bro it was YOURRRR ancestors who looked for THEM!!!! THEY did not look for YOU ALL!!!!!! i don't know if i prefer the idea of yaoshi being completely 100% aware of the consequences of their blessing, or being completely unaware and being so consumed by their path that they cannot see the harm they're doing. i think both interpretations have their own appeal. the second one is definitely more agonizing, though. either way, i do not see the abundance as a villain personally. aeons are not human. human morals cannot be applied to them.

and as for ambrose--

ambrose is, physically, a young adult! a very young adult. think eighteen or nineteen. i want them to be chronologically older than most people on any of the xianzhou alliance's ships, though, so i am working on an explanation for why their mara is less severe and has not completely consumed their consciousness.

i think they're either physical, fire, or imaginary. i haven't decided yet. i'm open to suggestions.

this is SO funny and i love thinking about this. i think most of the aeons were like... what the fuck. What Is That. why does yaoshi have a little human. what the fuck. i think nous would get along w/ them despite nous' involvement with the xianzhou; ambrose sought to be freed from the limitations of mortal comprehension in order to learn more and see beyond their home world, after all. and really, i don't think nous would give a FUCK about the conflict between the hunt and the abundance. they don't fucking care bro they are more concerned with other things LMAOOO. ambrose clashes really badly with nanook because they have a deep set love for humanity and the universe, whereas nanook... does not. the child of abundance, ambrose, does not like the destruction at all so they are ALWAYS going around and eliminating the antimatter legion when they can. IX could not care less about them rip..... IX's apathy is a stark contrast to ambrose's infinite kindness and passion for existence. in general, ambrose doesn't seek out any of the other aeons except nous. nous and yaoshi are the only ones they really talk to.

I AGREE I AGREE i think yaoshi is one of the aeons who really likes their emanators! ambrose in particular is like an extension of themselves (perhaps this could contribute to why their mara is less severe? ambrose is but an extension of their aeon, after all. their aeon's power probably does not hurt them as bad as it does to those who do not share that kind of bond with yaoshi; i think yaoshi can literally FEEL when something is not right with ambrose and vice versa. like, they share a sort of metaphysical bond). lan knows about this, and therefore, so does the xianzhou alliance. ambrose is regarded as an enemy, a thing that needs to be eliminated from the universe... even though they did nothing wrong. ambrose honestly doesn't care because fuck it, you know? there is no point in lamenting the loss of potential allies when those potential allies seem to vehemently hate their parent... but ambrose has learned from yaoshi to have love for every living thing in the universe, so the hate is very one-sided. they are not just a pathstrider. they are an emanator. they cannot emanate their parent's will and strength if they are hateful. so, they have a gentle and tender love for life and that does include the xianzhou alliance. the alliance sees their softness as patronizing, unfortunately. ambrose avoids lan like the fucking PLAGUE because they know that lan would absolutely take any given opportunity to remove them from the universe, and yaoshi would absolutely come to their aid if they sensed that ambrose was in danger. and ambrose cannot be responsible for aiding the hunt in eliminating the abundance. if they survived, and if yaoshi happened to... not survive, they would not be able to live with themselves. so they don't bother trying to make amends with the xianzhou or lan.

hi this is prolly gonna be a long post that makes no sense srry i just need to brainrot dump. but most important thing if ur not weird and you like chipspeech PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE dm me here so i can give you my discord or instagram where i am actually active more ahhhhhh.

ok anyway blue robots woohoo. these little bastards have been stuck in my brain for like a month now and its just gotten worse. the cool thing about chipspeech is it like doesnt entirely go with the rest of the vocal synth/vocaloid fanbase but rather than being its own seperate things its like this neat little extension of it in like multiple ways. it not only is just a really cool software that tried a lot of new cool things that we dont really see with like vocaloid and synthv and stuff but it also kinda shows the history of how we got to the point of modern vocal synth software in a cool way! even if you dont dive into it like i have you still get the basic “oh well voder was made in like 1939 and it had to be operated by hand how cool” and like through chipspeech you kinda get to see the evolution of how we got to where we are now and i think that thats really neat. 

but then if youre a nerd like me you get to have a ton of fun diving into all of the history and cool old tech stuff. liking chipspeech has made me find a new interest in old computers/tech/software/videogames do i fully understand how they work? hell no! do i love looking at them and having them explained to me by some dude on youtube? hell yeah!! and like its just so cool to go in and research the machines/softwares that inspired the chipspeech bots because even though its difficult sometimes you get to see these advances made and how each one differs from each other in how it was made, how it was operated, its function, etc. and thats SO. FREAKING. AWESOME. like dude have you seen the video of one of the tests for the votrax?? (the one that bert gotrax is based on) if you havent basically it was made so that people with disabilities so they couldnt talk could have conversations over the phone. they tested it by trying to order a pizza using only the software. it took like 3 tries before someone took them seriously and they got the pizza. and the moment they were like “yeah deliver that to the msu computer center” i got so excited cuz that just felt so badass!! like put yourself in their shoes, its 1974, you’re testing your new speech program, and it finally worked. a room full of people, a camera, a news broadcast (iirc), theyre all watching you struggle to order this pizza and then you finally do it and get to tell them to deliver it at the lab you just proved your intelligence to and fehjvddsujfs i cant explain my thinking but DUDE its just so cooooooolllllll!!!!!!!

I'm sorry you were exposed to porn at a young age (I think most people who partly grew up online have been exposed to it early on which is a whole problem of its own) and it actually infuriates me so much that most leftist I know associate the term with ultra-religious-right-wing propaganda cause there are legit cases of people who just can't have a healthy sex life because of their porn addiction. Thing is porn involving violent kinks has nothing to do with the actual practice because well porn is never accurate.

Most of the kinky people I know actually recognise porn as a violent industry and understand the harm its done to young people and as far as I'm aware they do notice very easily when someone only knows kinks through porn because its so different from actual kink specially when it comes to the more violent ones because normally there is care put into it you check on the other person etc. Porn does affect your perception of sex but isn't the birth of violent kinks and it isn't misogynistic for a straight coulple to enjoy them.

On a different but still related note I feel that it's very possible for violent kinks to be an extension of a degradation kink (examples include women with misogyny kinks: simply an extension of degradation. men w misogyny kinks are to be kicked in the head tho)

So i think cnc its in the same category as ddlg: better for someome to pretend to be harming someone than to actually harm an unsuspecting victim. i don’t think anyone with a fetish/kink for rape or pedophilia should be having sex with ANYONE. i understand that i can’t control other’s actions and i guess it is better than them actually committing rape or pedophilia but i believe these two specific fetishes to be mental illnesses and they need professional help, not sex. exposure to CNC and DDLG will simply affirm their fetish and continue teaching their brain to associate rape and pedophilia with sexual gratification.

He would want to protect them. If there’s ever a way to prevent evil shit from taking place he’s enlisting the first day. And he'd be so excited to do that. Finally there's a very good reason for him to exist - finally he can contribute something good to the world)

And then im likeee…. paladins fall though. Thats, like, one of the most iconic things about them as a class. Which makes me think about that one RP story wherein a paladin player explained in exacting detail why they don't fear the fall, they seek it out (ironically that character's name was also Peter, so, ??? neat!)

But even THAT'S not right for this question. That's not embracing evil - thats being willing to give up everything you have to prevent this specific evil right now. That's STILL not it.

And besides - how would Peter ever end up in a situation like this anyway? He's bitty. When is he ever the one with the most authority or power in any situation, to even be doing something like this? To even have the opportunity to embrace a slippery slope into cruelty by following a road of what he swears were good intentions?

i am verrrrry slowly getting through the manga now :} and I apologize bc this message is probably going to get long akjdsjsh I tried to be coherent somewhat I prommy

yeah, even being newer to this series I could feel the difference in characterization between the manga compliant and non-compliant portions. and for the most part the anime only is REALLY bad 💀💀 the ghost episode was such a slog to get through I totally understand why my roomie showed me this season last. but at the same time there’s some bits I really enjoyed??

Again, still working on the manga, so maybe some of my complaints will be addressed later. I dunno if this makes sense but in a lot of the non manga portions of season one Sebastian felt like he had more ,, character to him?? I don’t know the right word. But like, him yoinking ciel when ciel was in danger, despite that going DIRECTLY against orders was interesting to me. And then ciel getting angry at him when detective guy died protecting ciel bc Sebastian didn’t do anything was a cool bit as well (though detective death had like zero impact they tried REALLY hard to make us care but it was so rushed). Sebastian also just felt like he had more snark in general. I feel like in the other bits I watched he was more just another extension of ciel and just does whatever ciel says without question. whereas in the anime bits the whole the like, nature of the contract is brought up more and bc of that we get to see a little more into Sebastian’s character and how he really feels?? I don’t know if that makes sense sorry 😭 I liked (for the most part) the characterization he got though

Also I loved how many more supernatural entities the anime got. Like there’s more than one demon, there’s ghosts (even though the episode SUCKS), angels, a hellhound, whatever the hell might be going on with Lau- I was shocked when my rookie said that there’s like, nothing other than Sebastian and the reapers in the manga itself (though she also hasn’t caught up fully so???). Hannah was fun in the time she lasted and I’m weirdly interested on the triplets. Why did they seem to be serving Hannah in that one flashback sequence? Is there a demon hierarchy? What’s it like? Also- how do demons come to be?? At the end of two ciel becomes one via Hannah’s contract with alois in his body so like??!? Can demons just do that to anyone anytime or what? (Also, Can demons make contracts with beings other than humans? Can demons die? PLEASE I NEED LORE).

Im a sucker for Angel themed villains also so I was kinda excited for that in s1 but.. it was. meh. It certainly doesn’t help that the male form of the Angel looks EXACTLY like one of my fav characters from another franchise, Namely Joshua from (neo) world ends with you, who coincidentally is also an Angel. like that’s just a character I already like but written worse and much more annoying and I don’t like him at all actually. No Ronnie this season which :’) my roomie told me ahead of time but I miss him still. wish we had more reaper lore though. Why is will so opposed to over time. What does he even DO when he’s not working. do reapers have like.. anything to do outside their jobs? Do they even get paid? why did grelle’s chainsaw get stopped by a coat getting caught in it I thought that stuff could slice through anything (same for Ronnie’s lawnmower thing during that one time in his intro in 2- like guys ur scythes are kinda ass if they break this easy. undertaker had the right idea keeping a basic design 😭) WHY DOESNT EVERYONE HAVE A LITTLE GLASSES CHAIN THINGY LIKE GRELLE? Ronnie lost his glasses At one pint I’m pretty sure will lost his glasses at another guys just get the. (sorry I fuckinh love the reapers head full so many thoughts on them SPEAAKING OF-) the books that wrote peoples lives as they were happening was such a dumb anime only inclusion. We paused the episode for like 20 minutes JUST to complain about it- it’s an ultimately stupid choice (the library is sick though just make it a film library) that feels like it was made purely for the stupid death bookmark thing- which also was a stupid idea because that’s way too OP and it was made to fix the DUMBEST possible problem the writers could’ve written. A locked room?? Really?? That’s the barrier we need to overcome? didn’t they TELEPORT TO THE LIBRARY OR SMTH I am going insane I hate the books so much. the film aesthetic is so much better the books are confusing and stupid I am glad they’re not canon. If it was a like, they used to use books but then film was invented thats be neat. It’s funny to imagine the reapers going digital as time progresses but the books being used at the same time as the cinematic record pisses me off SO MUCH

undertaker reveal was funny though. like. obv doesn’t live up to book of Atlantic but the writers didn’t even try to make it hype they just made it a heehoo silly and I think it was for the best, it was a good moment.

The writers were trying to squeeze in condensed versions of greater arcs and important moments where they could and I think for the most part they did ok. the doll guy was clearly just a Walmart book of circus and then undertaker reveal.. like it was fine. Them killing off Lau was .. odd. I don’t get that. That whole arc was confusing. I do not understand the butterfly thing- is that in the manga too? it perplexed me and my roommate didn’t seem to get what was going on either

i completely agree w you on your opinions of the anime and the different characters that originate from it. i hATEEEEE ASHHHH!!! SM. grelles characterization in jack the ripper was very nice, right? she was her usual simpful self, but she also was such a powerful maniac(and i love her for that <3). after that shes almost purely comic relief. they make her so weak(when she couldve most likely won against undertaker in bota if sebastIAN FOCUSED ON HIS GOAL INSTEAD OF SHOWING OFF). she barely does anything to contribute to the legit lore of the anime.

i can assure you, theres more non-human entities than demons and reapers in the manga. book of the atlantic happened, right? they had the bizarre dolls in there. i wouldnt consider them human.

im glad you love the reapers! id love to see you join the reaper side of tumblr. i adore them and their found family theyre so goofy. as for the glasses chain thing, i do agree it would be more convenient, but i like grelle bein a little more unique <3
