Coming and feeling satisfied, for once. Stray cats wandering near his only window, peeking their nose in and meowing loudly. Those placid treats, in his monotone gray - he misses them.

Lillium’s hand curls around his, strong but with a loose enough grip that he could shake it off if he so wished.

Instead, he grips tighter.

He might not be able to reach out, but now, Lillium can do it for him.

Iris isn’t letting go.

Lillium sighed and stayed within reach just in case anything happened. He watched as Iris stuck out his tongue in concentration. Lillium wanted to help Iris but the shorter male can be stubborn. Though... watching Iris make breakfast made him feel warm. He was so tempted to wrap his arms around him and show Iris every small little trick that he knew. Lillium smiled and looked away. One day...

Summary: Lillium pivots, puts one hand at his elbow and the other over his mouth, and backs him up against the alley wall. Or: Back in Washington State Lab, Lillium told Iris to let him distract the glitch if cornered. Iris does not.

Comments: So I just wanted to scratch an itch to write Irium (Lilliris?) UST. I started from that single image, I sort of just wanted to flesh it out in writing since I can’t art. But then, in order, hurt/comfort, banter, and angst followed. Oops. @velocesmells my hand slipped. If there’s fic you want to see that hasn’t been written yet about our apocalypse flower boys, hit me up and I might do it! Including possible sequels in this sort-of ‘verse, I think I’m open to that. (Or even from that college AU I wrote?)
