Please let me know when you post more Jay!Whump, and also if you post ship fics. I multiship Jay with Erin/Hailey/Kim/Gabby/Sylvie, and more. So, I'm sure I'd love whoever you ship him with in your fics. <3
I post quite a bit of Jay!Whump on AO3 under the username iburninsideatnight. Mostly I ship him with Hailey in my fics though I do like some things about him with Erin as well so I’ve been trying to write some Linstead stuff (which went really badly because my current in progress fic has her as an abusive monster but that’s a logistical choice not because that’s how I see her - the general response is that it makes sense why if you read it)
I’d love to know if you like anything else that I’ve written and I’ll be continuing to post Jay!Whump on both sites. I’ll try to tag you as I post new things.

#5, 7, 10, and 23 for the year in review ask game, please!
5: What ships captured your heart? For writing, it was still Kanera, but also some Chenford, Linstead, and Sabezra to some degree! Also Stellaride but I only wrote like. two things about them so it barely counts
7: Did you write for any new fandoms or ships this year? Linstead and Stellaride were both very new and very fun! I've also never written and published anything for any of the Wraith Squadron ships, so that was fun!
10: What fic was the most satisfying to finish writing? Of the ones I published, definitely "Shattering Glass and Gunshots". I was really satisfied with how it turned out. But of my unpublished fics...let's just say there was a Steve Miller Au story that was so satisfying to finish (and also happens to be one of the only fics I've written to almost make me cry)
23: If you had to choose one, what was THE most satisfying writing moment of your year? Getting my friends invested in one of my OC ships in only 4000 words. But finishing my book again was good, too!
Ask game!!

☆ what we discussed a few months ago ☆
She couldn’t believe that it had taken her all this time to realize what it was that she wanted. She’d been digging her heels in, for some reason, but she’d known in her bones that she was meant to be Avery’s mom since the day she’d dropped her off at rehab.
What would Erin have done if Voight had told her he’d just boot her out right after she got clean? After she got clean for him?
Probably exactly what Avery was doing right now.
It was so cold outside, the snow lashing down like tiny ice bullets determined to make her turn around and go back inside to the warm comfort of her apartment and her boyfriend, but Erin didn’t care. She was too desperate to care, by this point.
She ran to her car, barely able to see it through the snowstorm but she managed to make it, flinging open the driver’s side so violently that the whole car shook at the strain on the door’s hinges; she slammed it and barely paused to buckle herself in, and before Jay had the chance to follow her, she had pulled out of the parking lot and was driving as fast as she legally could down the icy streets in the direction of DCFS.

Benefits of Having a Househusband: Chapter 9 - It’s not hard to make them happy
aka, 10 times Jay being a househusband worked in Erin’s favour
Also on ff.net and A03
Once again, huge thanks to @justkillingtimewhileiwait for all of her beta'ing help and idea bouncing! Hope you guys enjoy!
“So I was thinking…” Jay began as they entered the locker room.
During their morning briefing, Voight had informed the team that two of them were needed to make a quick round trip to the city of Springfield to pick up some important case files which were far too classified to be emailed or faxed over. In addition to that, whilst they were there, it would give them the opportunity to ask questions and see any evidence they wanted to.
Voight had chosen Erin and Jay to make the trip, telling them to leave within 30 minutes and to be back by that evening. It wasn’t the first time the Intelligence team had pulled a highly controversial and public case, but it was the first time that Voight’s powers hadn’t stretched out of the city, leaving the team to make up for the difference.
“Oh, this ought to be good,” Erin laughed, pulling out what she would need from her locker and dumping them onto the bench behind her.
“Springfield is a three-and-a-half, four hour drive, right? That places it well out of Chicago, which means I should get driving privileges for this mini roadtrip,” he stated diplomatically, already shutting his own locker after having retrieved the minimal items he figured he would need.
Tugging on her jacket, Erin shot him a sceptical look as he made his way over to lean against the locker next to hers. “I don’t remember agreeing to only being allowed to drive in Chicago.”
“I don’t remember agreeing to only you being allowed to drive, fullstop,” Jay retorted, making her smirk. Closing her locker, she picked up her phone and purse, slowly adding them to her pockets to join the car keys she could already feel in there. She hadn’t verbally replied to his observation, which had obviously only made him more impatient. “Erin, please? You know it’s fair.”
Pursing her lips, she did her best to stare him down, but she knew she was fighting a losing battle against his innocent baby blues and the softest pout forming on his features. It was hard enough for her to stop herself from simply kissing the look away, knowing that though he wouldn’t be able to keep up the pretense if she did, she would be giving in in a whole other way.
Letting out a long, deep sigh, Erin finally nodded concedingly. “Fine. But I get to choose the music,” she bargained, waiting until his face lit up with the boyish grin she knew and loved before pulling the keys out of her pocket and practically slapping them into his proffered hand.
“Honey, you can choose where to eat for all I care. I get to drive,” Jay replied cheerily, earning himself a raised brow at his offer.
Finding somewhere to eat was always a heated debate between them, something which the driver usually had the most control over. Not that their appetites or choice in food differed from one another, but they usually had different ideas as to which place served the best dish for whatever they were arguing over on any particular day. And it was a huge factor in Jay’s argument about feeling like a househusband when she practically overruled his choices simply because she was driving.
Shaking her head affectionately at his rather giddy mood, Erin bit back her own grin in an attempt not to seem amused by his reaction, lest he got the wrong idea about possibly coercing her to let him drive more often.
“Let’s go before Hank sends out a search party. The last thing we need is for him to see you coming out of the locker room with that grin on your face,” she remarked, giving him a light push to send him on his way as she followed him, hand on his back to keep him going.
It didn’t take long to get onto the road after that, venturing into the bullpen to pick up any last minute discussions before heading down to their work vehicle. Erin couldn’t help but notice the extra bounce in Jay’s step or the way he smiled at her lopsidedly over the roof of the car as they got in on unfamiliar sides. It warmed her heart to know she had caused this mood, a feeling of satisfaction and content growing as she settled into the passenger’s seat and enjoyed watching him steer them out of their city.
“What?” Jay asked when they had reached the highway, once Erin had finished fiddling with the radio and chosen a contemporary station, leaving it in low for some background noise. She had gone back to nonchalantly observing him, eyes sliding from him to the road and back again at steady intervals.
“I really need to let you drive more often if you get this excited about a small road trip,” she quipped, reaching into the glove compartment to retrieve both their sunglasses as the mid-morning sun hit their eyes.
“I’ve been saying that since day one, Erin,” he reminded her, accepting his shades and pushing them on without a glance in her direction.
Slipping on her own pair, she laughed and nodded. “I know. I just didn’t realise how sheltered you had become. It’s like you’re a Stepford Wife, taking her first step out into the real world,” she teased, patting him on the shoulder and earning herself a disgruntled huff from him.
“Actually,” Jay retorted lightly with a smirk on his features, “We prefer the term 'househusband’, if you must.”

didnt u say u werent gonna watch cpd anymore tho bc its so bad? do u still write fic?
The fact that you remember that, given it was like 3 years ago when I said it, is a little unsettling anon...
But yes, I did say I was going to stop watching CPD...I made a really long post about it after season 5 premiered, but then a friend of mine got me back into it and I got caught up on all the seasons before season 7 started. I also jumped onboard the Upstead train because I think their partnership and friendship have been developed really well and I’m excited to see how a romantic relationship will play out between them. I do think the writing has improved somewhat on the show, but there are still some issues...I don’t think that’ll change anytime soon. It happens on a lot of shows.
I haven’t written fic in a really long time and to be honest, I don’t know if I’ll ever go back to it. I do get some ideas every now and then, and I jot them down because you should never say never.

You Drive Me Crazy
Plot: Erin teases Jay all day and he shows her what he thinks of it.  Rating: M Word count: 1,413
Enjoy!
Erin “The Tease” Lindsay. That would be a suiting name for her after today. She had been teasing him their whole shift, bending over in her tight jeans every chance she got, sending him lustful eyes and dirty smirks every time he looked across the bullpen. She even sat in his lap at one point, wiggling her little ass on him, making his day very hard. She knows exactly what kind of effect she has on him and she has been exploiting it all day long. She has driven him to a point where it’s almost torture just being around her. The rest of the unit are heading home, Erin planning to do the same. She goes to her desk to grab her jacket, but Jay has had enough of her teasing for today and decides to let her know. As soon as she turns away from her chair, Jay is in front of her, pushing her against her desk. His hands flies to her hips to steady her and his mouth goes to her ear. “You know, that ass of yours is pretty distracting.” She feels his hot breath on her neck, making goosebumps erupt on her body, her lust growing slowly at what’s to come. He spins her around so she’s facing her desk, he grips her hips again and presses her flush against him, making sure she feels the effect her teasing has on him. His hands slowly travel up her body, landing on her breasts, tugging at her nipples trough her clothes. He keeps tugging at her breasts, keeping her captive in the sweet torture he knows she loves. She steadies herself with her arms on her desk, slightly bending over it. She’s sure of casefiles and pencils flying to the floor if this ends like she hopes it does. She pushes her ass back against him, grinding at him in response to the work of his hands. He grips her hips, making her stop her moving. She turns her head and looks at him with a questioning glare, but all she sees in his eyes is lust. He slowly travels his hands down till they find the waistband of her jeans. He does a quick job undoing the button, she’s almost trembling with desire at his burning touches. He hooks his fingers in the belt loops and quickly yanks the jeans down her legs, Erin kicks of her shoes and jeans fast. He gulps when he lays eyes on her, she’s bend over the desk and her ass is barely covered by a red lace thong. The hot sight makes is hard dick twitch in anticipation. He slaps her ass, making her groan at the surprise and the thrilling sting it gives. Jay runs his hands over her ass, gently kneading it as they wander. His one hand slips down her between her thighs, playing with the fabric of her thong. She grinds back against his hand, wanting more. He grips her waist, pulling her against the bulge in his jeans. He grinds against her, hard, making her feel the rough fabric of his jeans on her delicate skin. Her breath hitches in her throat, she’s not used to him being so dominant, not in this way. He bends down to her ear, still keeping her ass firmly against him. “Babe. You drive me crazy.” She just smirks to herself, pleased to know her efforts is going to pay off in the best possible way she could ever imagine. Jay places his foot between hers, forcing her to spread her legs for him. He pushes her thong to the side, not really giving a damn about it anymore. He runs his fingers through her folds, enjoying the feel of her and the noises she’s making just for him. He pushes two fingers inside her, his dick throbs at the moan she lets out. He curls his fingers up, finding her spot immediately. He hits it every time, pushing her closer to the edge with every touch. Just when she’s about to come he withdraws his fingers, making her groan out in disappointment. She snaps her head back to look at him, he just smirks at her and slaps her ass again. She realizes he’s lost in the control he has over her right now. He undoes his belt in seconds and tugs his jeans and boxers down, just low enough for his dick to spring free. He hisses when the air hits him, wrapping his hand around it and pumps a few times. Erin looks back at him, biting her lip as her lust for him spikes at the hot sight. He teases her, running the tip of his dick through her wet folds, denying her what she wants the most. She groans and sneaks her hand down between them trying to grab a hold of him. He slaps her hand away, telling her once again that he’s in control. He bends down to her ear and whispers, “Is this what you want?” Before she can even think of an answer, he plunges in to her, hard, pushing all the way. She screams at the sudden feeling of being full and stretched. He doesn’t give her time to adjust, before he slams into her again, and again and again, going hard and fast. His hands grip her hips hard, almost bruising. Erin grips the side of her desk to steady herself, her knuckles turning white. The room is filled with their moans, screams and the hot sound of skin on skin. Erin moans uncontrollably at the wild and pure friction she’s getting right now while being bend over her desk at work, half naked and getting fucked hard by her boyfriend. The thought makes her body heat up, her desire only growing. Jay sneaks a hand around to her front, putting pressure on her bundle of nerves, making her body jolt with more pleasure. He keeps pressing on it, while he drives himself into her. He knows she’s close by her ragged breathing and his name spilling from her lips like it’s the only word she knows. He stops his thrusting to rub her bundle of nerves, he rubs her hard, quick and with a steady hold on the exact spot. She collapses on the desk, screaming his name as he tips her over the edge, her walls tightening around him sends him right along with her. His hold on her tightens with the pleasure running through him, stars flying before his eyes. They stand there for what feels like forever, just enjoying the aftershocks of their combined highs. Jay’s breathing is finally coming back to normal and he bends down to kiss Erin in her hair, his way of saying “I love you” when he can’t trust his voice to utter the words. She turns her head to the side, still lying flat against her desk, smiling widely to repay his words right back at him. Jay pulls out, Erin groans at the sudden feeling of lost contact and ache in her body from laying over the desk. She’s sure she has bruises on her hipbones and marks from his fingers on her hips to remind her of the hot memory for days. He fixes his jeans before he helps her of off her desk, picking up her thong and jeans and hands them to her. She smiles shyly when she takes it from his hand, still getting all high-school shy about him having seen her panties. She gets dressed, Jay sits at the edge of his desk waiting for her. He reaches out his hand to her, a gesture signaling he’s ready to go home. She takes it and he wraps his arm around her shoulder, wanting to be as close as possible again. He stops in his tracks when the fear of him being too rough hits him, he turns her around to face him. “Babe, I’m sorry if I was being too rough. I just got caught up in the moment.” Erin’s heart swells at his words, she’s always stunned at how loving and caring he is. One moment he has her bend over her desk, fucking her hard like there’s no tomorrow and the next moment he’s apologizing for getting lost in all the fun. She sure has hit the jackpot with Jay Halstead. She just looks at him, her eyes coated with love and desire. “Maybe I should tease you more often.”

🦋 - tell us about your current wip
🌞- favourite character from current wip?
🍉- favourite wip?
☁️- wip you want to write but haven’t started yet?
✨ - newset wip?
🍃- what’s is your genre?
🌤️ - name the hardest thing you’ve had to do for writing?
🐣 - here’s some writing motivation!
🦋 tell us about your current wip
I'm currently working on some prompts to get the muse going, but I've been brainstorming a movie chenford au (as for which movie, I'd like that to be a surprise), and I've started to work on it recently. I think the idea is perfect for Chenford and I hope I can manage to write it!
🌞 favourite character from current wip
I have to say I'm really enjoying delving into Lucy's background for the one I mentioned above, it's fun to mix the canon elements with the elements from the movie and make it cohesive.
🍉 favourite wip
Hmm, that's tough because I love all of them so much. They're all my babies. I love the post s4 accidental dating one, or the Montana one that's sort of abandoned bc the ideas are too big for writing capabilities atm, or sugar daddy fic that's waiting for smut insp. I love them all. Will I ever write them? Is another question 😂
☁️ wip you want to write but haven't started yet
I've been having this amnesia fic in my head, and I have it planned out and I really hope I can trust myself to start sooner, but I've just been struggling a bit lately.
✨ newest wip
I've recently started a 4+1 fic for a fic exchange and I really love the idea so much, it's been so fun to brainstorm!
🍃 what is your genre?
I don't really think I have one that I'm specifically good at haha, more like average at all of them. I'd say my fave to write are domestic fluff/fix-it fics or emotional hurt/comfort. I also really love addendum scenes that can be slotted in canon easily. The bts stuff that we don't get to see, but can easily imagine.
🌤 name the hardest thing you've had to do for writing
When I was writing for Linstead fandom I wrote a fic where I sort of used writing as catharsis for something traumatic that's happened to me. Delving into those emotions, allowing other characters to say what I was thinking, it was liberating but at the same time really hard.
But I guess it made me understand that if I can afford my favorite characters the grace and forgiveness regarding the situation, I should do the same courtesy for myself, and it sort of helped me move on in a way.
🐥 here's some writing motivation!
Thank you!!! It was much needed, trust me!

Why me?
Rating; Fluff, tiny bit of angst
Warning ⚠️; None really
Pairing; Jay Halstead X Erin Lindsay (Chicago P.D)
Tumblr media
Prompt; (Cred: Write-it-motherfuckers on Tumblr) 'Why me.'
'What?'
'You could have anyone, so why me?'
'...because you're the only one I want, you always have been... Is that really so hard to believe?'
A/n; I have been binging Chicago PD and I have to say, Linstead will always been my favourite pairing inn that show. Anywhosle, this is just a filler until I can finish some other pieces!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Again, Lindsay had stuffed up.
Why did she do that? Why did she punch that man?
Ah, yes! He had made a comment about her policing abilities. It hadn't sat well with her for reasons beyond her understanding. She was a good cop, she knew that. Could she be better? Well, yes, but that wasn't her and she was happy with how she performed in her position.
Shaking the thoughts off her shoulders, she sat at her desk, deciding to do some paperwork while she waited for a probable conversation from her 'father'- Sargent Hank Voight. But her concentration was elsewhere as she stared at the computer in front of her. Oh well. She thought. No use worrying.
The other detectives weren't too long before they came back from their assigned tasks for the case currently being worked by Intelligence. Erin loved it. It meant she wasn't alone with her thoughts. And that she could work.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The rifle in Erin's hand felt comforting. She trailed Antonio, hand that wasn't holding the gun holding the tail of his shirt. Quickly, they were dodging bullets and returning fire when they could. Erin's hands stabilised the rifle, having let go of Antonio a good moment ago. The man in question stood a few metres away, entirely focused on shooting at the offenders and yelling.
In the blink of an eye, the gunfight was over. Most of the Offenders laid on the ground, moaning in pain, but the leader had manged to escape unhurt. Erin raced off after him, shouting commands. She could hear her partner, Jay Halstead calling after her, and she thought for a moment she could hear his footfalls. But, it could've been her feet hitting the ground as well. Slowing down as the offender entered a room, she shoved the door open with her shoulder, rifle poised to shoot.
But she didn't need to. The man had fallen trying to scurry up the metal steps and was holding his head. Blood was visible under his hand and Erin paused, taking a hand off her gun to key her radio. 'Send an ambo to my location,' She told the dispatcher after identifying herself. 'Offender down.'
But as she turned to look back out the door, she heard the sound of someone getting up.  Turning, the injured man was standing, blood dripping down his face from the gash in his forehead. Before Erin knew it, he had her by the shoulders and was slamming her back against the wall. Her rifle had fallen from her hand as she copied his movements, shoving him back with effort. A blink later, he was laying back and Erin was above him, breathing visibly.
Jay burst through the door, worried for his partner and wondering why there hadn't been much visible movement in the stairwell. Glancing at Erin, he watched as she retrieved her rifle, sparing him a glance and handing him her handcuffs. She knew she was too worked up to do the honours. And Jay knew that she was worked up. So he silently took the metal cuffs, clicking them around the guy's wrists and standing up.
Erin noticed the man writhing a little and a snarl placed itself on her lips. 'Stay still.' She snapped, glaring daggers at the offender. Jay sighed. She really was worked up. For a good reason, he supposed. He could only muster the courage to pat her shoulder, trying to signal her to calm down, at least a little.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
She shouldn't have been out. The previous call had her worked up too much. It was a mistake to send her out, even though it was with Jay.
She stood above a bleeding man, a few years her junior. Her knuckles were red and her eyes would've been too had she possessed the ability. Her chest was rising and falling rapidly as Jay appeared, cutting himself off as he took in the scene. 'Erin..'
The woman sucked in a deep breath, moving toward her boyfriend. Radioing for an ambulance, she left the room. 'I've had enough of his smart-ass ways.' Was all she offered as an explanation. Jay sighed. If only he'd been a little quicker... Just a little...
~~~~~~~~~
Jay found his girlfriend at her desk in the district, leaning against the wood. Wordlessly, he stared at her, wanting to ask questions but also wanting her to tell him first. 'I told Voight,' Erin muttered, playing with her pen. 'He said he'll deal with it.'
'That's good. But are you alright? You got pretty angry.'
Erin nodded slowly. 'But Jay,' she paused, sighing for the nth time. 'Why me?'
'What?' Jay hummed, tilting his head as he looked down on the woman he cared for. 'Why you?'
'You could have anyone so why me? I mean, how many times have I almost gotten you into deep trouble? And yet, you still chose me.'
'...because you're the only one I want, you always have been... Is it that difficult to believe? Do you not trust my ability to judge characters?' Jay chuckled. 'I would get myself into trouble with or without you, trust me.'
Erin could only smile. It sounded cliche, but Jay was the best partner (and boyfriend) she could ask for. And as selfish as it sounded, she would hold onto him for as long as she could, despite not necessarily deserving him.
