When people start to villainize Rachel Amber I just know they wanna be different soooo bad because the worst of Rachel’s mistakes in her eighteen years of life were direct results of being lied to and taken advantage of by the real villains.

I don’t know what it is that people don’t seem to think Frank Bowers was weird af for being in a relationship with a 18-year-old high schooler (because, yes, 18 is legal but still a teenager, thank you) when he was pushing 32. And mind you, if you didn’t play Before the Storm with your eyes closed, you know damn well he showed interest when she was only 15. Fuck that!

There isn’t an alternative reality in which this “relationship” can’t be described as a grown man taking advantage of a teenager’s tendency to be drawn to dangerous shit just to prove something, whether for herself or her jackass of a father. And as strong as Rachel’s i-don’t-give-a-fuck-about-people’s-opinions-about-me personality is, she was still impressionable and somewhat easily influenced like all goddamn teenagers in the world! It’s just how it is! That is easily proven by her claim of finding “someone who changed her life” right before she disappeared. The fact that she gave her bracelet to Frank makes this crystal clear; even if you ask for it on Before the Storm, it ends up on Frank’s wrist at some point. You want me to believe Frank Bowers was more important than Chloe Price to Rachel at any given point? He was not, but Rachel was blinded by her urge to pursue everything that’s prohibited.

Also don’t get me started on Mark Jefferson. His name on itself is self explanatory.

And because I’m forever in the denial phase of my grief for her, I convinced myself this is the last thing I ever saw of Rachel. Never the photos. Those didn’t happen.

What gets me about amberpricefield is that it’s most definitely Chloe and Rachel just absolutely smitten with Max. Like, yeah they love each other as well, very much so, but they cannot stop fawning over their awkward shy photography girly with zero game. Just obsessed.

Why prepare Chloe a bag full of clothes within the first few days they've met and just kept giving ever since? (Loving means giving)

Why did the exact same 😁 post-it note appear in Rachel's drawer, then subsequently, on Chloe's table?

Why did she send her this post card full of love when she's not in Arcadia?? (Surely someone who's manipulative at her age wouldn't go that far. Sigh why do I even have to clarify)

Why staunchly tell James "Chloe stays" and hold her hand when it's the most personal thing there is for her (contrast it with her reservations towards Chloe on day 1) & that James have reservations about Chloe??

And these ???

Why read Chloe's book reccomendation? And hug her when she's dyed her hair blue?

Look at her eyes lighting up and smiling when she sees Chloe's new hair. Also the hug. Then tell me she doesn't love that girl.

Oh and lying for Chloe after skipping class, telling her she's gonna get in "serious trouble" when Chloe tries to argue, & even after she was told she's gonna be removed from her duty as Well's assistant AND The Tempest play (which she was excited & rehearsed & prepared for a long time), still said "it's okay Chloe, you don't have to do this, really." ???

also Rachel shoving Damon away telling him not to touch Chloe even though she was facing a whole grown-ass drug dealer? And standing slightly in front of Chloe even though she's afraid of the knife pulled out as well?

Even Frank & Max-imagined Jeffersh*t couldn't compare to Chloe.

Rachel "cared about a lot of people.. especially Chloe".

I'm pretty sure she'd tell Bowers and Jeffers*n to screw off if Chloe went missing and they stood in the way of finding her.

AmberPrice never was a toxic relationship. They were true teenage lovers discontinued by life.

She is top five favourite characters of all time (ill show the others slowly slowly)

I know there is a lot of discourse around her personality, intentions or moral values and i understand why some might interpret her as a "bad person" but i think there is more to that. I wont go too much into it but her complexity does stem from environmental, family and internal issues; also her young age. She was a victim in more ways than one.

But wtv, this is how i draw Rachel in my art style. Life is Strange is my favourite video game so i haddd to draw at least one of them.
