in which zane did not know before he died
remembered this very old au concept i’ve had since i was tiny watching ninjago for the first time… it completely unravels everything i enjoy about zane in the early seasons and i refuse to think of the necessary rewrites atm but i needed to make at least this one scene exist. can an au be naught but a single panel that makes me Sad?

man i love that character. you know, the deeply paranoid author who made a pact with a dark entity that ultimately ended with him stranded in another dimension separated from his loved ones for years at a time? takes place in the pacific northwest? has twin imagery associated with him and a reoccurring specific piece of symbology related to the unfortunate situation they're in? doesn't ever explain the reasoning behind his actions and instead just kinda goes "bro trust me"? yeah he also wears an outer layer of clothing with elbow pads on it, that one.
#my art#stanford pines#gravity falls#alan wake#remedyverse#i am. normal about the crossovers i make up.#what do you mean the esoteric weird horror game about stories and the disney cartoon about family dont have a shared audience. sounds fake.#anyways the comic on the right is in honor of a joke i had to scrap in my fic wip due to a perspective switch.#rip that joke i thought you were pretty funny. i like the idea of alan critiquing his own manuscript pages upon the events happening.#oh i should probably do a warning since theres that crunchy image of the aw2 alan death screen huh. uh#blood#aw2 alan death screen my beloved. literally made me go ''oh god'' out loud in shock and horror when i first saw it#anyways did you know theres an au to this objectively already an au crossover. i call it ''bill cipher gets sent to the shadow realm''#bill doesn't show up a lot in this au he gets one scene where he taunts ford abt alan being a danger#with the implication that the dark place/presence genuinely freaks him out. but in this self indulgence of a self indulgence#alan essentially manages to trick bill into swapping places with him and bill ends up trapped in the writers room/the dark place.#lmao get yötön yö'd idiot. YOU are aleksi kesä now.#also i like the idea of zane and bill meeting as well as door and bill meeting. i think they might scare bill a little bit.#just like how zane scares me <3 what a cool character what the fuck is his deal#also you may be wondering why alans in his aw2 look and not aw or awan look despite the fact that lines up closer#to when gravity falls happens-ish. well the answer to that is 1: the crossover uses a lot of the elements from aw2#and 2: i like alans long hair and suit and beard. i like the pathetic sopping look when his hair is in his face

Megatron tries to show everyone something on the internet and there's an ungodly amount of ads for trucks and car insurance.
Now, the others might be confused, but Soundwave knows. He knows how targeted advertising works and he knows Megatron's internet history and wishes he didn't.

was starting to hijack in the tags of that post i just reblogged but ohhhhh it is so juicy to me that the end of TKM is just part of the rising action of andrew's character arcs. and yet the way the novel leaves off, you can have so much hope in the ways its going to continue -- especially because neil proves to us on the last page that he's going to fight like hell to hold onto him whatever comes next.
it's just !!!! all andrew's deals are done. neil's big happy moment of relationship security comes from the fact that andrew didn't deny its existence lol. BUT neils correct to be happy about this, because he knows andrew is a black & white thinker, and he's entering unchartered territory! all his lil lies he uses to duct tape his sanity together are coming apart, and that break is going to be FASCINATING. i doubt it'll be explosive or anything -- andrew's more the "quietly self-destruct climax" type than the "defeat the mafia thru the power of sports climax" type -- but it'll sure be something interesting. and then once it all breaks, we know he'll have neil and kevin and his family and the foxes to help him heal -- and he'll have to believe it when they show they care about him, because he literally doesn't owe anyone anything

Grim Reaper!Lim Tae-gyu
Tumblr media
"What? Never seen a grim reaper with a bow and arrow before?"
Nor shall Death brag thou wander’st in his shade.
There was a secret Lim Tae-gyu liked to hide in the depths of his soul.
Awakening for the first time, a malodorous aura brushed against his nose. Perhaps the mana of an S-Rank? Tae-gyu shrugged it off and continued on his way as his country's newest powerful hunter.
Nevermind the lurking darkness now resided in his hands.
. . . . .
The first strange sign was when Tae-gyu found a murder of crows flocking in front of his window. It was suspicious to see such a thing in the very morning, yet he elected to ignore it, believing he had nothing to do with the presence of those dark-feathered birds.
Unbeknownst to him, the crows followed him above the clouds. They flocked nearby his office. They accumulated on every surface he was beneath in. A sense of fellowship and reverence was drawn to the oblivious hunter, who was just then establishing his guild.
They saw him as their superior.
An entity they were willing to serve.
Time marched on, the clock whirled, and Lim Tae-gyu was caught in a difficult state. After defeating the boss in the dungeon, bodies littered the cold ground aimlessly, and incessant rivers of blood streaming through the open wounds; the hunter's eyes stretched in vast horror. The culprit remained stood, his blade covered in deep scarlet red.
A wicked, maniacal grin crooked across his lips. "Like what you see, Guild Master?"
Lim Tae-gyu's breath quivered. He could see the fallen hunters on the ground had begged for mercy and fought with all their might until their last breaths. Unfortunately, it had to be none other than a hunter's blade. Tae-gyu gritted his teeth— I did not create this guild for someone to kill his own people!
Without a passing thought, he stretched his bow and summoned an arrow, glaring coldly at the hunter as if he was a magic beast. He let go of the string and the arrow launched across the place, successfully piercing into the hunter's chest. His hands went rigid upon using his powers to kill a human. Nonetheless, it was a human who shed no mercy and comradeship.
Shortly after the kill. . . A dark grey shadow emerged from the body. It carried the same countenance of the hunter. Tae-gyu sensed the same vague feeling all over again, the gut-wrenching unpleasant stench, or could it be— the smell of death. The S-Rank padded toward the torpid soul, opening his mouth to say;
"May you rot in hell."
The spirit faded into existence.
Movements rose behind him, Tae-gyu turned to face the melancholic souls of the dead hunters. His chest clenched at their end. He knew they had a family, a life they could've continued, and yet. . . Fate had a twisted plan.
"Go rest now," he said to them. "I promise to not let this situation happen again."
A few smiled as they disappeared.
There was a weight that had been lifted from his shoulders. Tae-gyu glanced on his bow, remembering the past event occurred moments ago, the way the arrow struck and took a single life, summoning the body's spirit. It was as if it was an arrow of death. Lim Tae-gyu figured there must be more than to his abilities as they seemed.
When he got out of the gate, a crow perched on his shoulder, croaking. Tae-gyu stared at it and raised his finger to gently caress its head.
"You waited long, didn't you?" The crow blinked and fluttered its wings. Tae-gyu took it as a yes and watched it took off to the distance.
They say, a dark entity roamed the earth. It only wanted one thing: soul. Human or animal, it reap for spirits to collect and send to the afterlife. Only those who were near death would meet the entity. If it appeared, the end was near. A long cloak shrouded its figure, leaving trails of ruins at its wake, as each step insinuated the meanders of the Grim Reaper, looking for a spirit to escort to the other world where life could not go.
Rather than a scythe, the Grim Reaper used a bow and arrow.
As even from afar, no matter how far one could be from death, when their time was over. . . It would not hesitate.
Overtime, the crows became his companions and messengers. When a crow greeted him, Lim Tae-gyu knew there was a soul waiting to meet him.
He met various people and heard unique stories. In their eyes, he was not a hunter, but a grim reaper who came to escort them to the world where they would rightfully be. Only he could remain in the world and embrace death simultaneously.
"I'm sorry, but this is where it ends now," said Tae-gyu at the spirit. He perched above a garbage bin — a corpse laid beneath the spirit of a woman who had chosen to die alone in a tight alley, unable to survive the attacks of a dungeon break. "From the way I can see it, you were walking home from work, weren't you?" The woman looked sorrowful. "Don't worry, I'll make sure your body will be found either way."
It was the least he could do.
"Luckily, I don't run out of mana when doing these tasks." Tae-gyu muttered after the spirit had disappeared. The crow bobbed its head in agreement. He grinned at his feathered companion. "Summon your flock and I'll prepare a feast for you guys back home."
The crow instantly lit up and croaked in joy, fluttering its wings as it rose in the air. The crows had been keeping his loneliness at bay ever since he had embraced his new, yet strange powers, and there was no denying that Tae-gyu had formed a bond with them. Especially when both were association with death.
If death was immortal, could he, a personification, be as well?
It was a question he'd yet to find an answer.

LU Avatar AU
I was planning on writing an Avatar AU with a short snippet about each Link and how they felt about bending each element. (Set in Hyrule, but people can bend the elements and the hero is the avatar, who can bend all four elements.)
I decided I didn't like the idea enough to devote anymore time to it, but you guys can have what I've finished
~~~
To Wild, airbending is as instinctual and effortless as breathing. Even more so, perhaps. Zelda had told him she couldn’t recall what element he had been born into. He was sure that if she did remember, she would tell him that he'd been born under the watchful gaze of the air spirits.
He was constantly airbending, so much so that his feet floated more than they touched the solid ground.
He floats in his sleep sometimes. The other avatars don’t mention it, but he knows they’re baffled by it. Everyone always is, when he sleeps somewhere someone will see him.
Wild- and everyone else- had assumed it was an avatar thing, to be able to control the elements even when you were unconscious. But none of the other avatars could bend while they were asleep.
~~~
Wild can barely move pebbles when he tries to earthbend. Zelda says that it’s because he’s a free spirit and doesn’t like to be grounded, but Wild doubts that. Hyrule didn’t seem to have any issue with earth bending, and he was as much of a free spirit as Wild was.
And it’s not like Wild doesn’t try. He does. He trains daily, even if it’s just for a short while. He knows how important earth bending is. But no matter how hard he tried, the solid rock beneath his feet never wanted to move for him.
~~~
When Wild firebends, he dances.
When he woke from the shine, all his bending masters were dead and he had no one to teach him. So he taught himself, using scraps of memories of the champions’ lessons and his own accidental discoveries. That led to some of his bending styles being a bit unique, fire bending most of all. The closest he’s ever seen was the fire dances that the Gerudo did sometimes, in the privacy of their town.
But he’s never seen anyone dance like that during combat, not like he does.
He supposes it doesn’t matter. As long as he’s as deadly with his flames as anyone else, and he is.
~~~
Wild has a hard time waterbending too. He’s better at it than earthbending- at least he could move water around. But it’s never fast, and it's never forceful, so his waterbending is all but useless in combat. This, Wild thinks, is mostly his fault. He could force the water to be more deadly if he tried harder. It’s not like earth bending, where he tries but doesn’t succeed.
Water is a free element. It goes where it wants, when it wants to, and frankly, he’s loath to make it do anything it doesn’t want to. So he never tries very hard to bend it to his will.
~~~
Four had kept the gift quiet, even in his own era. He hadn’t planned on telling the other avatars at all, but he would need something even more precise than his smithing to try and forge an unbreakable sword for the champion.
Metal bending was an extremely rare gift, even for an avatar, and he didn’t like the attention it brought to him when people knew. He was getting that attention now, whether he liked it or not. He could feel the other avatars’ gaze on him. He swore Wind’s star-filled admiring eyes were burning a hole into his back.
He ignored them, focusing all his attention on the metal floating in front of him, slowly taking the form of a sword.
~~~
Wind was born a water bender, as most Hylians on the Great Sea were. He’d never felt more at home than he did when he was standing on the seashore, listening to the waves and feeling the water lap at his bare feet.
There was a comfort in it, knowing the sea would never hurt him. Could never hurt him, even if it tried.

Green Ninja & Jade Princess
Tumblr media
Among the Elemental Alliance, one member stands out for being "down to earth" and marketing herself to the people of Ninjago City. The Green Ninja, Master of Flora. This member's popularity would lead to a particular interest from Lloyd among his fascination with the Elemental Alliance, never knowing that the identity of his hero is his own mother.
Tumblr media
Rambunctious, cocky, and with the mouth of a sailor that she miraculously keeps out of her public image, Koko is the youngest member of the Elemental Alliance, and thus is treated almost exclusively like a rookie. Acronix, Left hand of Time, in particular often gets stuck with her, turning eventually into a begrudging friendship. While Acronix admits that Misako has grown close to him, he also says that Koko doesn't really know him.
Tumblr media
Around the same time-frame, Master Wu, Son of the First Spinjitzu Master, and leader of the Elemental Alliance, discovered a starving orphan girl who had broken into the Monastery of Spinjitzu desperately in search of something to placate her hunger. Motivated partly by kindness, partly by pity, and partly in envy of other child-bearing families across Ninjago city, the sensei adopted the young girl, and named her Harumi, treating her like Royalty and giving her the title "The Jade Princess" after her birth-stone.
Years would pass and the girl would grow increasingly close to Misako, almost seeing the Green Ninja as an older sister. (A bad influence that everyone else in the Elemental Alliance were eager to point out.) Desiring to imitate Koko and the others, and eager to help protect NInjago city, Harumi trained under Koko and believed herself to be ready to unlock her elemental power.
Tumblr media
Unfortunately, elemental powers do not come to everyone. And after many increasingly dangerous attempts at unlocking such a power, A tipping point was reached when Koko began to shut Harumi out, believing that she truly was a bad influence that would only hurt Harumi in the end. Hurt that her closest friend would abandon her like that, and even more angry that her adoptive father seemed to agree with such a course of action, Harumi ran away from the Monastery, vowing to achieve her elemental powers no matter what stands in her way.
Man, I really have been holding back on the content, haven't I?
I've been really busy for the last few months and as a result all of the development I've made hasn't even made it past the thought stage. (Although the Full Story Outline document was never any semblance of complete since I first made it.)
Initially I was going to wait way longer to reveal Harumi's role in the story, (Although only about a 4th of it has been revealed thus far,) but I had the idea of making Koko a previous Green Ninja based on how she was the Lady Iron Dragon in the Ninjago Movie, and I knew that was the kind of idea that should be got out of the way early, and one thing led to another, and in fleshing out Koko's doodles I ended up finally making a reference for Harumi, and figured this wasn't a bad time to do her official reveal.
