Hey can I please request a Lloyd x reader where she is his ex-wife but he wants her back? Maybe they have a child together (they're the only people who he is really sweet and soft with, he lights up when he sees them) and idk maybe their child wants them together too? He's trying to find excuses to see her or kiss her and he has their child as a support?
Idk whatever you find interesting or have inspo for ❤️
Thank you for this amazing ask. I hope you like it. Warning- Little angst and fluff.
Your hands tremble slightly as you pack your son's backpack for his weekend with Lloyd. It’s a routine exchange, one you've done countless times since the divorce, but the familiar ache always lingers.
Sharing custody of Victor is always a bittersweet affair. Every time you see him, the resemblance to his father becomes more and more apparent. His bright eyes and mischievous smile are like a living reminder of what you once had together. Yet, despite the pang in your heart, you push your feelings aside, knowing that this arrangement is for the best.
The doorbell rings, and you exhale deeply before opening it.
Lloyd stands before you, immaculate in his polo shirt and with that same cocky smirk you've come to know all too well. Despite your best efforts, your pulse quickens at the sight of him, a reaction you've tried to suppress but have never been able to completely control.
Damn that moustache! Always been your weakness.
You fix your expression, forcing a neutral smile as you step aside to let him in. You're used to this routine by now, but the sight of him still dredges up a mix of emotions you'd rather keep bottled up.
“Ready for our little guy?” he asks, his voice annoyingly smooth, like melted chocolate. Victor bolts past you, yelling, “Daddy!” as Lloyd scoops him up effortlessly, peppering his son's face with exaggerated kisses that make the boy squeal with laughter.
When your son was born, Lloyd had named him Victor, saying he's his biggest victory in life.
You force a polite smile, ignoring the way Lloyd's eyes flick to yours, softening. He always looks at you like that, like you're still the most important thing in his world, even after everything.
After Sierra Six.
The memory burns like acid. Sierra Six had been your breaking point. Lloyd's obsession with catching the rogue operative consumed him, pulling him deeper into his dangerous world and further away from you. You had begged him to walk away, to prioritize his family, but he couldn’t let it go.
“You don't understand, Sugar!” he'd said during one of your final arguments, his voice sharp but his eyes pleading. “This isn't just a mission. It's personal.”
It became personal for you too, when Six's retaliation nearly cost you and Victor your lives. A car bomb meant for Lloyd had detonated outside your home, leaving shards of glass and smoke as a grim reminder of the risk you couldn’t live with anymore. You’d left that night, taking Victor with you, and filed for divorce shortly after.
“Thanks for packing his stuff…” Lloyd says now, breaking you out of your thoughts. He hesitates, then adds, “You could come with us, you know? We're just going to the park.”
“That’s your time with him…” you reply, keeping your tone neutral.
Victor tugs at your sleeve. “But, Mommy, you should come! Daddy says he misses you.”
Your breath catches, and Lloyd clears his throat, awkwardly running a hand through his perfectly styled hair. “Victor, buddy, why don't you go grab your soccer ball from the car?”
Once Victor bounds away, Lloyd steps closer. “He’s not wrong…” he says softly, his gaze holding yours.
“Lloyd…” You start to protest, but he cuts you off.
“I know I screwed up. I know I didn’t protect you the way I should have, but I’m trying, Sugar. I’m trying to fix things. For you. For Victor. For us.”
You cross your arms, a shield against the vulnerability in his voice. “You can’t just say these things and expect everything to magically go back to how it was.”
“Then let me show you...” he says, taking another step closer. His hand brushes yours, testing waters. “Let me prove it to you.”
Before you can respond, Victor runs back, his soccer ball in hand. “I got it! Mommy, are you coming with us?”
Lloyd kneels down, pulling Victor into a side hug. “Tell you what, buddy. Why don’t we see if we can convince Mommy to join us next time, huh?”
Victor pouts dramatically, his big eyes, the same shade of blue as his father’s turns on you, “Please, Mommy? Daddy says families should stick together.”
Your heart squeezes at the sight of them, your two boys. Lloyd stands, his eyes never leaving yours, and he leans down just slightly, so close you can feel the warmth of his breath.
“Think about it…” he murmurs, before pressing a soft kiss to your cheek. It lingers, a promise in its tenderness, and leaves you standing there, your resolve crumbling ever so slightly.
As they walk away, Victor waves enthusiastically, and Lloyd throws you a smile over his shoulder. It’s cocky and hopeful all at once, like he knows the kiss wasn’t just for show.
Maybe, just maybe, he’ll find a way to win you back.
The weekend passes slowly without Victor. You spend the quiet hours tidying up, trying to distract yourself from the lingering thoughts of Lloyd’s kiss and the words he left unspoken. But no matter how hard you try, you can’t stop replaying his plea, “Let me prove it to you.”
On Sunday evening, Lloyd drops Victor off as planned. Your son runs inside, chattering about their adventures at the park, the ice cream truck they chased down, and how Daddy let him drive his tiny remote-controlled car.
Lloyd lingers at the door.
“Can I come in for a minute?” he asks. His tone is careful, cautious, as though he’s testing the waters.
You hesitate, but something about the vulnerability in his expression makes you step aside. “Just for a minute…” you say.
Victor is already in the living room, playing with his toys, oblivious to the quiet tension between you and his father.
Lloyd takes a deep breath, his hands stuffed into his pockets. “I’ve been thinking about what you said the other day. About things not magically going back to how they were.” He pauses, his gaze locking onto yours. “You’re right. They won’t. And they shouldn’t. Because I want things to be better than they were before.”
You swallow hard, your heart beating faster, “Lloyd, I…”
“Let me finish, Sugar.” His voice softens, and he steps closer, closing the distance between you. “I’m not asking you to forgive me overnight. I’m not asking you to forget what I did or the pain I caused. I just… I’m asking for a chance to show you that I’ve changed. That I’m trying to be the man you and Victor deserve.”
Tears prick at the corners of your eyes, but you hold them back. “You think one kiss and a few sweet words will fix everything?”
“No!” he says firmly. “But I think being here, every day, showing you how much I care… that might. I’m not giving up on us, Sugar. Not now, not ever.”
Before you can respond, Victor runs up to the two of you, holding a drawing in his little hands. “Look! I made this at Daddy’s house!”
The picture is messy but a clear stick-figure family of three, all holding hands. Above it, in Victor’s uneven handwriting, are the words, “My family.”
Your chest tightens, and you glance at Lloyd, whose eyes are filled with unshed tears. He kneels down to Victor’s level, gently ruffling his hair. “That’s a beautiful drawing, buddy.”
Victor grins and turns to you. “Mommy, don’t you think we should be a family again? Daddy’s been so sad without you.”
You look down at your son, then at Lloyd, who is watching you with a mixture of hope and fear.
“I don’t know, Victor,” you say softly. “It’s… complicated.”
“But you love Daddy, right?” Victor asks innocently, his big blue eyes staring up at you.
You hesitate, the truth sitting heavy on your tongue. “Yes…” you finally admit. “I do.”
Lloyd stands, his expression unreadable. “Sugar, I know I’ve made mistakes. And I’ll spend the rest of my life making up for them if you’ll let me.”
Victor tugs on your hand, his face lighting up with excitement. “Please, Mommy? Let Daddy stay.”
The weight of the moment presses down on you. Slowly, you nod, your voice barely above a whisper. “Okay. Let’s see where this goes.”
Lloyd’s eyes widen in surprise, and then a rare, genuine smile spreads across his face. “You mean it?”
“Yes,” you say, a small smile tugging at your lips. “But you’re on thin ice, Hansen.”
He chuckles, his confidence returning. “I wouldn’t have it any other way, Sugar.”
Victor cheers, throwing his arms around both of you, and for the first time in a long time, you feel a flicker of hope.
Maybe, just maybe, you can be a family again.
The days that follow are a whirlwind of emotions. Lloyd takes your cautious ‘okay’ as a challenge to prove himself, and he doesn’t waste any time.
He starts small, picking Victor up from school, helping him with homework, and showing up at your door with dinner. Each time he’s around, you find yourself torn between wanting to push him away and feeling your walls crumble a little more.
One evening, as you’re washing dishes, Lloyd appears beside you, drying a plate you hadn’t asked him to touch. “You know,” he says, his voice low and teasing, “we make a pretty good team.”
“Lloyd, I don’t need your help.” you say, trying to focus on the sink.
He leans in closer, his breath warm against your cheek. “You might not need it, but I like being here. With you.”
Your face heats up, and you elbow him gently. “Back off, Hansen.”
But instead of retreating, he grins and presses a kiss to your temple, quick and soft. You whirl on him, glaring. “What do you think you’re doing?”
“Testing my limits,” he replies smugly, holding up his hands as if in surrender. “You’re adorable when you’re mad.”
You roll your eyes, but the blush on your cheeks betrays you. He notices, of course, and his grin only grows wider.
Lloyd’s efforts intensifies over the period.
Over the next few weeks, Lloyd becomes a constant presence in your life. He shows up unannounced with groceries, fixes the broken cabinet in your kitchen, and even surprises Victor with a mini soccer goal for the backyard.
One afternoon, while Victor is napping, you find yourself sitting on the porch with Lloyd. He’s unusually quiet, his gaze fixed on the horizon.
“Why are you doing all this?” you ask, breaking the silence.
He looks at you, his expression sincere. “Because I lost you once, Sugar. And I’m not making that mistake again. You and Victor… you’re everything to me.”
The raw honesty in his voice leaves you speechless. Before you can think of a response, he leans in, brushing his lips against yours. It’s soft, tentative, as if he’s giving you a chance to pull away. But you don’t.
When he deepens the kiss, his hand rests gently on your cheek, you lose yourself for a moment, the familiar warmth of him overwhelming your senses.
When you finally pull back, your heart is racing. “You’re impossible…” you mutter, your cheeks burning.
“And you’re beautiful,” he replies, his lips quirking into a lopsided smile.
Despite your reluctance to admit it, Lloyd’s persistence begins to wear down your defenses. He’s patient with Victor, kind to you, and relentless in his mission to win you back.
One night, as you’re tucking Victor into bed, he grabs your hand. “Mommy, do you still love Daddy?”
Caught off guard, you glance at Lloyd, who’s standing in the doorway, watching you with an unreadable expression.
“I…” you start, unsure of how to answer.
“I know you do,” Victor says confidently. “Because you smile more when he’s here.”
Lloyd chuckles softly, stepping into the room. “Our kid is a great observer, you can’t hide anything from him.” he teases.
“Go to sleep, Victor…” you say quickly, pressing a kiss to your son’s forehead before retreating to the living room.
Lloyd follows you, closing the door behind him. “He’s not wrong, you know,” he says quietly.
You sigh, turning to face him. “Lloyd, this isn’t easy for me. You broke my trust…”
“And I’ll spend the rest of my life earning it back!” he interrupts, stepping closer. “You’re the only woman I’ve ever loved, and I’ll fight for you every day if that’s what it takes.”
Tears well up in your eyes as you finally let the weight of his words sink in. “I’m scared…” you admit, your voice barely above a whisper.
“I know,” he whispers, cupping your face in his hands. “But I’m here, Sugar. I’m not going anywhere.”
The next morning, you wake up to the smell of pancakes. Victor’s laughter echoes from the kitchen, and when you walk in, you see Lloyd standing at the stove, flipping pancakes like he’s been doing it for years.
“Morning, Sugar,” he says, flashing you a boyish grin. “Thought I’d make breakfast for my family.”
You shake your head, but there’s no hiding the smile on your face.
Later that day, as the three of you play soccer in the backyard, Victor pauses and looks up at you. “Does this mean Daddy’s staying forever?”
You glance at Lloyd, who’s watching you with hopeful eyes. Slowly, you nod. “Yeah, buddy... I think it does.”
Victor cheers, throwing his arms around both of you. Lloyd pulls you close, pressing a kiss to your hair.
“I love you…” he murmurs, his voice thick with emotion.
And for the first time in a long time, you let yourself believe that maybe, just maybe, you could have your happy ending after all.

Hey babe!! I'm beyond obsessed with your recent Lloyd/Ransom lollipop fic! Could we perhaps get a follow up where Lloyd tests out said lollipop on reader?👀🥵
hi baby! I'm so so so sorry for taking so long to do your request! I hope you like what I've done.
last part to wedding crasher and the prequel lollipop
summary - after your ex ransom crashed yours and lloyd's wedding and revealing your dirty little secret. your now husband wants to try it out for himself on your honeymoon.
warning - smut, food play, being called a slut, daddy kink.
18+ only please, the gif isn't mine and divider by @newlips
After the wedding and your ex crashing it, Lloyd decided during your honeymoon that he should be allowed to experience your lollipop kink. So, that’s exactly what he did. After a lovely romantic dinner, he led you back up to the room and threw you on the bed, reaching over with a devilish smile as he pulled out a strawberry lollipop from underneath his pillow, bringing you into a rough make out session before he begins with his plans. Which leaves us too now.
“Stay still, Pumpkin. Let daddy fuck you with this sweet treat.” Lloyd growls, you’re sprawled out on the bed, lips puffy and swollen from your husband kissing you roughly, your cunt dripping as you anticipate what’s going to happen. Lloyd lies between your legs, his tongue flicking out to wet his lips as he eyes your glistening folds. One hand grips your hip, holding it down while the other rubs a strawberry flavoured lollipop between your folds. The lolly bumping against your puffy clit causes soft whimpers to fall from your lips. “I chose strawberry for us, Pumpkin. So, whenever you see anything resembling a strawberry, you’ll think back to this night.” He smirks, “Be a good girl for daddy.” He says with a hint of a warning behind his words, knowing how greedy you can be once he gives into your desires.
Your eyes roll back as he pushes the sweet treat into your cunt, his cock twitches as he watches you practically suck the thing in as though it were your mouth doing it. “L–Lloyd!” Smack “Daddy!” You moan as he coats the lolly with your juices, picking up the pace and swirling it around, hitting your sweet spot.
Lloyd thrusts the lollipop faster and harder into your sweet cunt, his thumb connecting to your puffy clit, groaning as your back lifts from the mattress and you begin to squirm. Your fingers curl into the bedsheets as he fucks you hard, slowly turning you into his kinky little slut with each movement. Lloyd huffs out a chuckle, “Huh, your ex was right. You are a kinky little slut.”
His words cause tingles to erupt throughout your body, juices flowing out of your now strawberry-flavoured cunt as you cum. You slowly sink back into the mattress, hazy eyes locking onto Lloyd’s as he gently pulls out the lollipop, you whimper as you watch him put it in his mouth, swirling his tongue around the treat as he collects your taste. Your eyes widen as he crawls up your body, leaning over you with the lollipop hanging loosely in his mouth. He hums, “I think I just found my new favourite treat, Pumpkin.”
The rest of the night is filled with everything imaginable, not leaving the bed until two days had passed and you were utterly fucked out.
thank you for reading!

Ooo can I please request a Soft dark! Lloyd Hansen x shy!fem!reader where Y/n leaves her room to go see Lloyd (she has previously tried to run away multiple times, but this time she genuinely wasn’t trying to escape, she just wanted to see Lloyd because she is starting to miss him and wants hugs and kisses). When she leaves her room, one of Lloyd’s guards happens to be walking by and yells at her to get back in her room. She tries to explain that Lloyd said she can free roam the mansion as long as she doesn’t try to run off again, and that she isn’t trying to leave, but he doesn’t believe her. He tries to grab her which scares her so she tries to run past him, but he shoves her and she bumps her head. She is able to get away from him and is crying for Lloyd and runs downstairs and bursts into the room he’s working in (the one with the monitors) and runs into his arms crying🥺 He’d be so shook and worried because she’s sobbing and hurt, and she tells him what happened at the same time the guard comes in and tries to tell Lloyd she was “escaping”. Lloyd looks at the camera (you know he has a ton around the house) to see exactly what happened and… The amount of rage he feels, well… The guard doesn’t make it out of this confrontation… Lloyd would tell Y/n to close her eyes and plug her ears while he “takes care” of the guard who hurt her. Then Lloyd would just hold Y/n and comforts her, and she keeps promising that she didn’t try to escape and he’d definitely reassure her that he believes her🥺 He’d also be proud that she feels comfortable enough with him now to one, want to seek him out for affection, two, for her to view him as her safe place now (their relationship has grown a lot since they first met, she has warmed up to him!)🥹
Not Escaping » Lloyd Hansen
Pairings: Soft Dark!Lloyd Hansen x Shy!Female Reader
Summary: One of Lloyd’s guards doesn’t believe you when you tell him that Lloyd allows you to roam freely around his mansion and thinks you’re trying to escape.
Warnings: Soft Dark, Angst (not you and Lloyd), Fluff, language, small mention of blood, crying, kissing, pet names
A/N: Thank you for the lovely request @kpopgirlbtssvt 🩵
Written on my phone. My apologies for any mistakes.

GIF IS NOT MINE! Gif credit goes to the creator.

You got bored and lonely in your bedroom while Lloyd was working so you decided to see how busy he is. You left your room and walked down the hall to the stairs to go downstairs.
“Hey!” One of Lloyd’s guards shouts, starling you. “Where do you think you’re going?” He asks.
“I’m- I’m going downstairs to see Lloyd.” You tell him.
The guard stared at you, thinking you’re lying.
“I don’t think so.” He says.
You took a step backwards as he approached. Your instincts were telling you to turn around and run, in which you did. The guard grabs your arm with a bruising grip.
“You’re not going anywhere, except back to your room.” He says.
“Lloyd said that- that I can walk around his mansion freely.” You say in a shaky voice.
“Yea, right. For all I know, you’re trying to escape once again.” He says, tightening his grip on your arm.
You whimpered at his tight grip. You used all of your strength to push him away and get out of his grip, but it was no use. He’s stronger than you.
“Stop fucking squirming!” The guard yells.
You didn’t listen. You continued to squirm to get out of his hold on you. To get you to stop squirming, he shoved you against the wall, putting his arm against your back. The front of your body was pressed against the wall uncomfortably. The force of him shoving you against the wall made you hit your forehead against the wall, making you cry out in pain.
“Lloyd!” You cried out.
You weren’t sure if Lloyd was able to hear you or not due to your face being pressed against the wall. You managed to get one of your arms free. You blindly hit him. You used all of your strength to hit him in a place where no man enjoys getting hit. The guard lets go of you, dropping you on the floor.
“You bitch!” He groans in pain.
You scrambled to stand up and ran as fast as you could down the stairs without falling. You ran to the main room of the mansion where Lloyd does most of his work. You ran over to him and wrapped your arms around him.
“Hey, what’s wrong, pumpkin?” Lloyd asks softly.
“He- He- He didn’t believe me when I told him that you allow me to walk around your mansion freely.” You say in a shaky voice.
“The guard?” He asks.
“Y-Yes.” You replied.
“He hurt me.” You added.
Lloyd let go of you to check you for any injuries. He saw a small cut with blood oozing out of it on your forehead. His jaw clenches at the thought of someone hurting his girl. It angered him even more that person is someone who works for him.
“Go to the living room and plug your ears. I’ll be there in a moment, ok?” He says.
“N-No!” You whimpered, grabbing onto his polo shirt.
“It’s going to be ok. I promise.” He almost whispers.
You whimpered softly before letting go of his shirt and went to the living room. Lloyd went upstairs to see if the guard who was rough with you was still up there. He was. He was leaned against the wall and holding himself down there from when you hit him. Lloyd walks over to him and grabs onto his shirt.
“Tell me why the hell you got rough with my girl.” Lloyd growls.
“She was trying to escape.” The guard says.
“No she wasn’t. I gave her full my permission to roam freely around my mansion.” Lloyd says.
“I didn’t know that.” The guard lies.
“Everyone fucking knows that!” Lloyd growls.
“How was I supposed to know that she was telling the truth? She lies and tries to escape all the time.” The guard says.
Hearing the guard say those things about you angered Lloyd more. He got his gun out of his pocket and shot him. Lloyd let go of him, letting his now dead body fall to the floor. He went back downstairs and told two of his employees to clean up something, meaning the guard’s dead body, upstairs in the hall before going to the living room. You were sitting on the couch with your ears covered and sobbing softly. He sat down next to you and wrapped his arms around you. You turned your head to see Lloyd. You uncovered your ears and grabbed onto him.
“It’s ok now, sunshine. You’re ok.” Lloyd almost whispers.
After a moment, Lloyd picked you up and carried you to the bathroom to clean up the cut on your forehead. He sat you on the bathroom sink counter and searched for the first aid kit. When he found it, he opened the kit and examined your cut. Luckily for you, you didn’t need stitches. You just needed a bandaid and you’re good to go. Just to be on the safe side, he cleaned it out with a cotton ball and alcohol. He then put a bandaid on it and kissed that part of your forehead.
“All better.” Lloyd says softly.
You just wrapped your arms around him, not wanting to let him go. Lloyd picked you up and carried you to his bedroom. He gently laid you down on his bed and laid down next to you. He felt you beginning to relax.
“I-I wasn’t trying to escape. I was lonely and wanted to see what you were doing.” You say quietly.
“I know.” Lloyd whispers.
You and Lloyd laid in silence for a little bit. You relaxed and calmed down even more.
“Lloyd?” You say, looking up at him.
“Yes, cupcake?” Lloyd asks softly.
“I love you.” You say.
“I love you too, sunshine.” He almost whispers, kissing you.

Feeling Blue Without You - Lloyd Hansen
Summary: Working at Hansen Security can be stressful. What would happen if you left?
Words Count: 2,365
Warning: None
Author's Note: Hello, everyone; this one-shot is for the Lloyd Hansen Writing Challenge hosted by @hansensgirl and @cuttlefjsh. I chose the prompt: "Now, I'm gonna stop you right there, cupcake."
Main Masterlist || support: Ko-fi
Thank you to anyone who gave a like, reblog, and left a comment. It motivated me to write more
“Sir, we need backup,” the agent said urgently to his boss, Lloyd Hansen, the head of Hansen Security. They were pinned down and surrounded by their opponents.
Standing before him, Lloyd clenched his jaw and grabbed his comm. “Send the reaper drone,” he commanded.
“No,” came the reply.
Lloyd's eyes narrowed. “No?”
‘BANG!’
A bullet whizzed past, forcing Lloyd to duck. “Can you hear that? They're shooting at us!” he barked into the comm.
“I did. I saw everything.”
“Then send the fucking drone!” Lloyd demanded, his voice rising in desperation.
“No. The air force won’t let us borrow the drone again since you destroyed it last time,” the voice replied coolly.
Lloyd rolled his eyes, frustration boiling over.
‘BANG!’
He ducked again, muttering a curse. “I'm dying here. If you don't want to use the drone, then what's the alternative?”
“I already sent one,” the voice replied.
“What?! A miracle?” Lloyd's voice dripped with sarcasm and desperation.
“1,” the voice started to count.
“What are you doing?” Lloyd snapped, glancing around nervously.
“2,” the voice continued.
“What does that even mean?” Lloyd demanded, his grip tightening on his weapon.
“3.”
“BOOM!”
In an instant, a missile landed, obliterating their opponents. The shockwave knocked Lloyd off his feet. He wiped the dirt from his eyes, coughing.
“Can you tell me beforehand?” he shouted into the comm, exasperated.
“I did, but no one replied,” the voice said, a hint of amusement in the tone.
Lloyd took a deep breath, trying to calm his racing heart. “I'm sorry. If you were here, you’d understand that no one could answer you because we were trying to hide from everyone shooting at us!”
“I'm sorry,” the voice replied, more sincerely this time.
“Fine. At least you made a good decision. Just don’t let it happen again,” Lloyd growled.
“Now send an aircraft to pick us up,” he ordered.
“It’s already on the way,” the voice replied.
“Good,” Lloyd muttered before turning off his ear comm. He sighed heavily, feeling more exhausted from the conversation than the fight.
Compared to Lloyd’s precarious situation, the person on the other end was in a much safer location.
“He’s a little bit angry, but at least we avoided any casualties,” one of the IT team members said, glancing up from their console.
“That’s what I aim for. Less paperwork too,” you replied, a hint of satisfaction in your voice.
You took off your ear comm and set it down on the table. “And we can get more bonuses.”
“Yes,” everyone nodded in agreement. Working at Hansen Security was stressful and dangerous, but the high salary made it worthwhile, especially with you.
Since you became the damage control advisor, the job has become less stressful because the team could depend on you to handle Lloyd’s wrath. Your nickname, "Raven," truly lived up to its reputation.
You used to work in the CIA, but even the corrupt officers there found you too irritating. So, they sent you to the most annoying person they could think of—Lloyd Hansen.
Even Lloyd couldn't stand you. Since you arrived, he found himself unable to do whatever he wanted. He used to revel in his freedom, operating without constraints. Now, there were rules and regulations, and you enforced them rigorously.
Lloyd frowned as he recalled the changes you'd implemented: no more casualties, no more shooting innocent civilians, no more reckless actions. He scoffed, shaking his head. He used to thrive in chaos, but you had stopped that.
Since you came on board, Lloyd has noticed that the calls from Carmichael or Susan have stopped. He used to hear, “Lloyd, keep it down,” or “Lloyd, what are you doing?” almost daily. Now, there was silence on that front.
He grimaced, remembering how he'd been forced to adjust his tactics. He clenched his fists, feeling the constraints you'd placed on him. He couldn't stand the way you had imposed order on his operations.
You, meanwhile, were fully aware of Lloyd’s resentment. As you leaned back in your chair, you glanced at the team, seeing the relief in their eyes. They appreciated the structure and safety you brought, even if Lloyd didn’t.
💉💉💉💉
Lloyd arrived back at the mansion, dragging his feet because of the wound. “Shit. I need a medic,” he groaned.
“They’re taking care of the others who really need it,” you replied, your tone matter-of-fact.
Lloyd fell silent, realizing that it was only you to help. You were already standing there, holding a medic kit. “Don’t scare me like that,” Lloyd holding his chest.
“You? Impossible,” you scoffed as you cut his pants with scissors to address his wound.
“Geez, you reject going on a date with me but are eager to rip my pants,” Lloyd quipped, wincing as you applied antiseptic.
“Well, if we can’t be lovers, at least we’re good partners in crime,” you shot back.
Lloyd smirked, his eyes gleaming with amusement. “How do I look? Do I look handsome?” he asked, a hint of playfulness in his voice.
You raised your eyebrows, used to his random questions. “You have a muscular body and a good-looking face. You’re good in every outfit.”
Lloyd fell silent for a moment, then leaned closer to you, his expression serious. “Don’t say those kinds of words to anyone else—man, woman, I don’t care. Just me. Alright?”
You rolled your eyes. “Sure, whatever you say, Lloyd.”
Despite the banter, there was a palpable tension between you two. It was clear you both hated and cared for each other at the same time.
As you finished bandaging his wound, Lloyd watched you with a mix of irritation and appreciation. “You’re good at this,” he muttered.
“Better than bleeding out,” you replied, standing up and packing the kit.
The others nearby were already used to your dynamic. They exchanged knowing glances but didn’t interfere. This was just another day at Hansen Security—filled with banter and tension, but always under control.
“Try not to get shot next time,” you said, turning to leave.
“Try not to worry about me so much,” Lloyd said, smirking.
🍸🍸🍸🍸
After an exhausting day, you always head to the bar to ease your stress. Swirling the ice cubes in your whiskey, you find a small semblance of relaxation in the motion.
Working in damage control with Hansen Security is stressful and demanding, and you often wonder what would have happened if you had never accepted the job.
“Are you really that stressed?”
You’re startled by the familiar voice and look up to see Susan standing beside you.
“Today I just stopped an unnecessary war. If you think that's not stressful, sure,” you reply, your tone dripping with sarcasm as you take a sip of your drink.
Susan makes an ‘ooh’ sound, clearly impressed with your ability to tame Lloyd. She pulls up a stool and sits next to you, her eyes studying your face.
“Perhaps I can help ease your burden,” she says, her voice softening.
You raise an eyebrow, intrigued. “Hmm?”
“Our boss wants to hire you to work at headquarters. He likes the way you limit the damage Lloyd makes,” Susan explains, her eyes shining with excitement.
“Really?!” you exclaim, a wave of relief washing over you. “When can I go there?”
“Anytime you want,” Susan replies with a smile.
Without hesitation, you down the rest of your whiskey and stand up, feeling a weight lift off your shoulders. You grab your jacket, a newfound energy propelling you forward.
💥💥💥💥💥
Lloyd had just come back, and the atmosphere inside the mansion felt different. Had someone been here? He was sure of it. “Susan, what the heck are you doing here?” he demanded, storming into the room.
“I’m the new damage control advisor,” Susan replied calmly, standing her ground.
“Oh, hell no. Where is she?” Lloyd’s voice was sharp, almost frantic.
Susan’s expression remained neutral. “She’s working with the boss now.”
“Without my permission?!” Lloyd’s voice rose, his anger palpable.
Susan was taken aback. She hadn’t expected him to be this furious. She shrugged her shoulders, trying to stay composed. “Don’t blame me. It was the higher-ups who wanted her.”
“She also gave her resignation letter,” she informed him.
Lloyd stood there, stunned. You had just left without saying anything? He couldn’t believe it.
That night, Lloyd couldn't sleep. He never thought he would feel so blue after you left. When you first started working with him, you were a nuisance, always blocking every plan he made. He hated you for it.
But as time went by, your presence became indispensable for both the job and him. He liked to tease and flirt with you, even though it was futile since you never broke your cold demeanor.
Now, with Susan replacing you, he knew she was waiting for him to fail. She didn’t care if he made mistakes. She wanted him to be ruined. She didn’t care if the mission succeeded or failed.
Unlike you, who were strict but cared for him, watching out for his safety and the success of the mission.
Lloyd sat on the edge of his bed, staring into the darkness. He realized just how much he had relied on you, not just for your skills but for your unwavering dedication. He ran a hand through his hair, frustration and sadness mixing within him. He missed your stern yet caring presence, and it gnawed at him that he hadn’t appreciated you more when you were there.
Susan might be in your position now, but she could never replace what you brought to the team or him.
🏢🏢🏢🏢🏢
Lloyd stormed through the office, pushing away the secretary and security guards who tried to stop him from entering Monsieur Francis' office room.
“Mr. Hansen. What do I owe the pleasure of this abrupt visit?” Monsieur Francis, the French millionaire and main sponsor of Hansen Security, looked up calmly.
“I want her back,” Lloyd stated firmly.
Monsieur Francis leaned back in his chair, his expression unreadable. He had always needed Hansen Security to clear his path but despised the chaos and repair bills Lloyd often caused.
“But she likes it here. It's less stressful,” Monsieur Francis replied diplomatically.
Lloyd slammed his fist on the glass table, causing it to crack. “No one can replace her.”
Monsieur Francis raised an eyebrow, maintaining his composure. “There’s nothing I can do. She came here of her own accord, and we welcomed a talented person like her with open arms.”
Lloyd's voice hardened. “Let her go, or I will expose all your misdeeds to the world. Everyone will be shocked to learn that the philanthropist has blood on his hands.”
Monsieur Francis clenched his fist, his knuckles turning white. “Leave. Before I change my mind. This is the last time you disrespect me.”
Gritting his teeth, Lloyd turned and stormed out of the office, leaving Monsieur Francis behind.
Lloyd leaned against the wall in the hallway, his chest heaving with frustration and anger. He ran a hand through his hair, feeling defeated. He knew threatening Monsieur Francis was risky, but he was desperate to bring you back.
🧁🧁🧁🧁🧁
Clueless about what was happening on the top floor, you were in the midst of a meeting with your new team. It felt surprisingly relaxing compared to your time at Hansen Security. The atmosphere was blissful, and you were starting to feel a sense of ease in your new role.
Suddenly, the door burst open, startling everyone in the room. All eyes turned as Lloyd stormed in, his expression furious. You stood up in shock as he grabbed your hand and pulled you out of the building, leaving the room in stunned silence.
“Lloyd, let go,” you demanded, trying to free your hand from his grip.
“If you don’t want me to make a scene here, just be quiet,” he hissed through gritted teeth, his eyes darting around at the onlookers.
“I don’t want to work with you,” you asserted firmly, your voice tinged with frustration.
“Now, I’m gonna stop you right there, cupcake,” Lloyd retorted, a hint of sarcasm in his tone.
“Stop calling me that,” you snapped, remembering the time he had discovered your pajamas with cupcake patterns and found it amusing.
“You don’t belong here. Like it or not, you’re going to stay close to me. Didn’t you say we’re perfect partners in crime?” Lloyd’s voice was insistent, almost pleading.
Damn, this man, you thought, feeling both frustrated and reluctantly intrigued. You couldn't seem to escape him.
Lloyd's jaw was clenched, his eyes searching yours with a mix of determination and vulnerability. He took a step closer, closing the physical gap between you, his presence commanding attention.
“Lloyd, this isn’t—” you started, but he cut you off with a shake of his head.
“Just... stay close,” he implored softly, his voice rough with emotion.
You hesitated, feeling the weight of his words and the intensity of his gaze. Despite your better judgment, there was an undeniable pull towards him—a magnetic force that defied logic and reason.
“I...” you began, uncertain how to respond, your own emotions in turmoil.
Lloyd reached out tentatively, his fingers brushing against yours. The touch sent a shiver down your spine, igniting a spark of something unspoken between you.
As you stood there, caught in the charged atmosphere, you realized that resisting Lloyd was futile. Whatever lay ahead, this moment marked a turning point—a shift towards a future where boundaries blurred, and the lines between duty and desire became increasingly intertwined.

You were right to be suspicious from the very beginning. Ever since your father's honourable death in battle, you had been treated as lower than dirt by your stepmother. She was more than eager to be crowned the new queen of the kingdom and did her best to wipe your existence from the minds of all the people you were supposed to rule one day. Still quite young at the time, you didn't realise her manipulative ways. And you were none the wiser to her malicious intent.
The signs were obvious, every time you met her eyes, the distaste and displeasure were swimming in her narrowed sight, clear as the diamonds in her opulent crown. For quite a long time, you tried to hold out hope that she'd, one day, realise your sincerity, and your genuine want to become a good ruler. All in the hopes that your deceased father would smile at you, proud of your benevolent ruling as rightful queen. But that was your biggest fault. The virtuous desire she saw in your eyes only made her rage, aversion, and fear towards you grow by the day.
It was for her own comfort and self-assurance that you were subjected to live like a servant, dress like a servant, and be treated like a servant, within castle walls, never to be seen by your people again.
Only the palace servants were allowed to interact with you, yet, they were also under strict supervision to act ignorant of their princess' obvious mistreatment. It wasn't any use, however; your kindness, strength, and sincerity, even at such a young age, had all the palace staff turning a blind eye. Whenever the queen commanded that you be mistreated, or dealt with worse than the stable keepers of the royal horses, they offered their help. Even the guards, who had to report back to the Queen, happily turned in falsified reports in the hopes that your upbringing became more auspicious.
For years, you were treated like a servant under the Queen's, your stepmother's, command to which you readily obliged. The mistreatment, the obvious jealousy she holds for you, the insensitivity you had to suffer, all of it was tolerable because of the wonderful staff surrounding you. You also knew that one day, your justice will be fulfilled. You had already passed your coming of age but you weren't deterred. It's malevolent but, as long as you were able to see the lingering hatred in your stepmother's eyes, no matter how few those instances were, you know that there will be hope for a better future. Through her fears, you will be able to rise and take back what was truly yours from the very beginning – your right to rule.
But now... now you don't know what to think.
"Sir Remfrey," you call, following the huntsman further into the clearing on the outskirts of your kingdom. It was a beautiful meadow dotted with the prettiest wildflowers you had ever seen but the trepidation in your thundering heart wouldn't allow you to relax. The huntsman you had grown up to view as a beloved, close relative, doesn't respond. He doesn't even spare you a glance — but he can't allow you to witness the obvious conflict in his eyes. He was determined to let you go but when he stares into the dense forest before him, he worries for the life of his princess, the true ruler of the kingdom he so loved.
"Princess..." the huntsman finally stops just at the boundary of the forest. In a moment reigned by taught nerves, Remfrey tightens his hold on the basket full of food, spare clothing, and other useful supplies for your safe escape. "I am meant to kill you today by order of the Queen,"
Even though you shouldn’t have been surprised, a startled gasp still escaped your parted lips. For a long time, you've been conscious of your stepmother's paramount dislike of you, but never took her for someone who would command that you be killed.
Words fail you and your hands begin to shake as you hug yourself for comfort. It's a morbid thought but at least you were finally given some new clothes before your death — the only silver lining you could think of in such a dire situation. The fabric of your new A-line dress is soft but durable, its length protecting you from the occasional breeze, down until your mid-calf. This morning when you were presented with it along with a thick and cosy, cable knit cardigan, you were elated. It's been years since you were presented with new casual clothes and, upon their presentation, a spark of hope lit up your eyes... that is, until Sir Remfrey came to escort you to an unknown location for a surprise outing by order of the Queen. You weren't stupid but were, nonetheless, stupid enough to follow her ambiguous orders.
"Sir Remfrey please–"
"But I will not do that," the seasoned hunter, the bulky, tall, alpha-presenting man, faces you with tearful eyes, his knees dropping to the grassy ground as he urges you to hold onto the wicker basket he had brought along, "I'm letting you go here, my princess, and I will handle the rest. You must run and never look back; today you really did die so please..." he begs with a quivering voice, touching his forehead to the back of your hand, "please start a new and better life, one that is full of happiness, one that you deserve,"
With tears in your eyes, you embrace the huntsman tenderly, your arms unable to fully circle his broad shoulders, "what will you do? I know she is evil and if she finds you have disobeyed, Sir Remfrey, your family—"
"Will be alright," he reassures in the same whisper you had used to express your concern. Even when knowing your mournful fate, you still thought of him and his family – you are truly a better ruler, a better person, than the Queen could ever be, "I plan on returning with a wild hog's heart as evidence instead," he pulls away to smile at you, patting your head affectionately as he had always done, viewing you as the third daughter he never had, "and I plan on leaving the kingdom with my family soon after, you need not worry about me or anyone else, just yourself,"
He warns you of the dangers the forest presents but it is still a safer haven than the palace. No matter how well-decorated the grand structure may be, at least in the forest, you remain alive. He also lists off the necessities kept hidden in the basket: spare clothes, enough food for a week and some spare gold coins that the staff managed to scrap together as well as 'borrow' from the treasury (with the help of the palace accountant). Everyone at the castle, except the Queen, knew of the plan today and had worked together to keep you safe and give you another, better chance at life. It touched your heart so much that, despite the dismal circumstance, your eyes filled with tears of joy.
So as you traverse over the forest floor, Sir Remfrey's words echo in your head: keep running and don't look back! Create and live a better life!
It broke your heart to be leaving your kingdom and your people like this but... what can you do? A part of you feels guilty for not acting sooner and for allowing things to get this far but another part tempers your self-accusation gently. You were only a child. You had every right to feel guilt over this but the only thing you can and should do is look forward. You haven't yet fully escaped the Queen and you wouldn't dare endanger Sir Remfrey's life after all that he has done for you despite also putting his family in danger.
Keep running!
Don't look back!
Keep running!
Don't look back!
Keep running!
Don't look back!
The sun crawls slowly above you as your feet become heavier and heavier, it's come to the point where you're beginning to drag your shoes along the dirty forest floor and have come dangerously close to tumbling over several times. Thankfully, the trees were there to save your fall, their trunks and branches provided a sturdy foundation to rely on amid your toppling form.
Your throat feels like sandpaper but you resist reaching into the basket for the bottle of milk stored deep inside; you don't know how long it'll take to find a village that you could reside in without a beaten path to lead you the way, so your endurance was being put to the test. It all seems hopeless but you don't want the efforts of the kind palace staff to go to waste, they've sacrificed so much for you, you wouldn't dare put their efforts in vain. Magic items were a privilege of high society, rich nobles, and powerful organisations, only very few knew what was in the Queen's full magical arsenal so you needed to get away as far as possible and quickly!
Just a little longer you think to yourself, pushing forward with a new determination.
Multiple trees pass you by, their trunks and low branches offering support for the hazard that was their knobbly roots. Time no longer was a factor of thought, instead, it was the throbbing in your downtrodden ankles and the ache in the arches of your feet, how long have you been travelling like this? At this point, walking without shoes was an incredibly enticing idea. The dragging of your feet weighs down your sore, hopeless heart and you're soon having to suppress a sob.
But just as all hope escapes you, the distant sound of a running river raises your spirits. Pulled forward by the steady stream, you eventually break through the forest boundary to rest at the river bank. The water was crystal clear and glittering with the early afternoon sun. You wasted no time in leaning down for a drink and, once you had satiated your thirst, you carefully dipped in your naked feet and sighed in the relief that the cool water brings. The tenderness of your arches and ankles was quickly swept away with the water. It was a blissful reprieve that you took full advantage of.
Reaching into the basket, you pull out a small collection of fruit and nuts to snack on before withdrawing a more filling sandwich. The staff had been incredibly generous. They had given you a full pouch of gold coins, food, clothes, and a charmed wicker basket to hold it all in — the internal storage of the modest accessory was endless but it remained the same weight no matter how much you filled it up. It was a rather expensive item that could only be afforded by nobles and royalty who would sooner gift the basket to their staff for use in picnic outings and the like. It was quite handy to have while you worked about the castle along with the rest of the palace staff.
As much as you would have liked to remain sitting at the river bank with your feet dipped in its cool, racing waters, you still had to keep moving forward. For now, you opted for following the river in the hopes that you'd eventually be led to a nearby town as most tended to revolve around freshwater sources. Happily, you dabbed on some of Alma's homemade peppermint and lavender essential oil, stowed in a small glass bottle within the basket. You think fondly of the time you spent making homemade remedies, teas, powders, and all sorts with the elderly palace herbalist, wife of the gardener. They were a lovely couple who taught you everything you know along with many other individuals about the palace staff. One of the most useful things Alma taught you is that peppermint and lavender were deeply despised by bugs and pests, so to save yourself of any troubling bites, you dabbed on the oil generously. Another benefit was the beautiful fragrance helped mask the stench of sweat on your brow.
Refreshed and less panicked, you continue on your new path by the river. You expected another long journey ahead but soon came across a beautiful cottage that stood in a clearing on the other side of the running water. Thankfully a humble wooden bridge was there to help you cross the river. Circling the cottage, you recognise several raised beds full of carefully grown produce, it was the start of an expansive and impressive garden that stretches all around the cottage's perimeter. The cosy structure looked well-kept and huge with many windows and levels, you wonder how many rooms such an isolated cottage could have and for what reason. Nevertheless, this was the first sign of life on your journey and you were eager for shelter and, perhaps, some directions too.
Patting down your dress and sweater for any lingering dust or dirt, you took a breath and steadily made your way to the front door. It was certainly a property that needed admiring so you wondered why it was so remotely placed. You didn't let such thoughts linger for too long, however – perhaps the home owner/s liked their privacy. Stepping up to the heavy front door of the property, you quickly knock before you get the chance to lose all confidence.
No answer.
You gave a secondary knock and even a third knock but there was still no answer. Is nobody home? You ponder thoughtfully.
"Hello?" You call out, somewhat, hesitantly but still receive nothing. It wasn't in your nature to intrude but you really needed a place to stay, just for the night. You'll promise to leave in the early morning, provided that they offer you some helpful directions. Instead of knocking again, you try the doorknob and find no resistance. The wooden door happily invites you into the cottage’s front room.
The space inside was dark and bedraggled. Unused surfaces were covered in dust and a pile of dirty laundry took up a corner space. You couldn't believe that such a sparse interior could be made so messy. Organised chaos was your best attempt at describing the spaces you walked through. Silas (the palace cook) would have lost his mind at the sight of the kitchen and Frances (the head maid) would have fainted from the unclean environment. The air reeked of countering alpha scents too; you managed to pick up seven distinct aromas and swallowed nervously. As an omega, you were heavily encouraged to avoid all alpha-dominated spaces but didn't have much of a choice at this moment. At least the cottage seemed to be empty for now. Not only that but in this modern world, everybody is equipped with their individual, second-gender suppressor accessory – it’s standard for the safety of all people. If the homeowner was civilised, you're sure they would never go out without theirs; you never even took yours off, and most people didn’t.
"No one seems to be home..." you whisper to yourself, gnawing at your bottom lip in thought, "and I've been very rude for intruding like this..." Observing the space around you once more, you wonder how you could somehow mitigate the owner's negative reaction to your trespassing, "maybe if I clean up a bit, they'll forgive me for barging in like this," with your optimistic thought, you got set to work, "I can do their laundry too and…" you eye their kitchen space, "maybe if I make them something special to eat, they won't be so angry," giggling to yourself somewhat, you remember Silas' knowledgeable words 'nobody could eat a delicious meal and stay angry or sad'. He often used that to get back into his wife’s good graces and it seemed to work flawlessly, every single time — hopefully, you can do the same in this instance.
First things first: a general clean up of the area was urgently needed. However, you also had to open every window nearby; the amount of dust and dirt your movements lifted into the air was suffocating. You remain on the ground floor where most of the community rooms are located such as the living area, kitchen/dining room, and a large farmhouse-style conservatory, which stretches into the back garden.
The living area and dining area didn't take too much time, it only needed a little reorganising and dusting. The kitchen took a little more out of you so you took a quick break, where you leisurely got the laundry settled. Thankfully, the conservatory was equipped with an enchanted washing apparatus that you were used to operating from the palace. It was peculiar to find in such a humble setting but you didn't know the full background of the homeowner so you didn't question too much.
Little by little, the once unclean space became decent again. But it was missing something… something homey. Before getting started with dinner preparations, you fetched a newly cleaned glass vase from one of the many cupboards you were able to neatly organise and went out to collect some beautifully blossomed flowers to present at the dining table. You managed to arrange a pretty bouquet featuring bright purple and indigo blossoms, eucalyptus sprigs, bunches of dainty white florets and other miscellaneous greenery. Happy with the floral decoration, you turn your full attention to food preparations.
Some minutes into food prep, the laundry washer was finished and you went to hang the freshly washed clothes up to dry on the washing line. It was helpful that you were able to keep your eye on the laundry through the window above the sink, looking into the conservatory space, which overlooked the back gardens. The interior design was very open and spacious, where, even if you were in one room, you were still able to peek into several others without much effort — you quite liked it; everything was connected but still had its own place.
Getting stuck doing the chores was familiar. The tasks were comforting as they brought to mind the many friendly faces of the palace staff. They helped raise you, provided tutelage on their specialised skills and ensured that you didn't miss out on the vital education all princesses were entitled to, all behind the tyrannical Queen’s back. Silas the chef de cuisine, Frances the head maid, Henry the head butler, Ernest and Abigail the royal librarians, Alma the herbalist and her husband Otis the gardener, Amos the accountant, Cecelia the palace doctor and her assistant Victor, the brother of Violet who was the royal bookkeeper, Hansen, the royal guard and his friends, Abraham the palace mage and so many more amazing people. You miss them all so much, your found family amongst all the hardship you were forced to face by order of the Queen. In your heart, you know that without their help and kindness, you wouldn't have had the courage to be kind anymore. These chores connect you back to them, in a way, and you are happy to swim in the remembrance and familiarity while putting the skills they've taught you to good use.
Despite the original grim state of the cottage, their enchanted cool storage was supplied generously and ran as smoothly as the walk-in cooler of the palace. There was some space for the milk, cheese, and other perishable food items stowed in your charmed wicker basket so you happily stowed those away first before setting out ingredients for the hearty dinner you had planned.
Slow-cooked, tender beef stew with fresh bread rolls and, for dessert, some easy banana bread with chocolate chips and whipped cream. Considering the clothes sizes you had laundered earlier, you assume that whoever lived here needed to be fed an above-average amount — a challenge you were happy to step up to.
Excited to put your cooking skills to the test, you get started with assembling the bread dough so that it has time to proof under the remaining daylight. After that, you quickly went about prepping the many vegetables needed for the stew before finally getting started on searing the meaty beef chuck you found, carefully wrapped in butcher's paper. Some of the seasonings you couldn't quite reach as the cupboards were rather high up so you had to climb onto the kitchen counters at some points. Nevertheless, the domestic, calm scene had you humming a simple tune, imagining Silas observing your progress from over your shoulder and smiling to himself with fulfilment – he always took such pride in teaching you well on navigating the kitchen, from sharpening knives and keeping a tidy space, to maintaining inventory and memorising a range of different recipes to fit any and every occasion.
While the beef stew was simmering over a steady, slow fire, you got to finishing up your bread rolls and finally tossed them into the oven, where you eventually got started on the banana bread and whipping cream. It was a shame that the kitchen space was barely utilised despite the impressive charmed appliances available for use. The homeowner's kitchen space was also incredibly big and it came with two beautiful ovens, meaning that you could cook the bread rolls and chocolatey banana bread at the same time — it was a home cook's dream cooking space. The only conclusion was that the homeowner wasn't suited for cooking but you were happy to fill in that scarcity, especially if it made them less mad at you for intruding…
Wiping the thought from your head, you allowed the delicious aroma to fill the kitchen while you went to collect the newly dried laundry and placed the piles in the conservatory space, ready to be folded neatly. It was a little unfortunate that you couldn't extend your labour to the upstairs spaces but you've infringed on the homeowner's space enough; you don't think a simple cleaning or a hearty meal could convince anyone to remain calm if they found that their private bedroom space was also carelessly invaded.
Everything was going well and you're positive you would make a good first impression. If you were determined enough, you're sure the homeowner would be willing to overlook your trespassing on their property. Hopefully, they'll also be convinced to let you stay the night and offer you some directions to leave for the following morning; you've already intruded enough, you couldn't possibly ask for extended shelter too... although it would be very much appreciated on your part.
Yawning softly, you take out the bread rolls and place them on a wire rack to cool, waiting a little longer to do the same for the chocolatey banana bread. On occasion, you would check on the bubbling beef stew over the small fire, but the longer you cook it, the better the flavour and the more tender the meat becomes, so you weren't too worried. The only time you added to the pot was when you felt as though the broth had gotten too low and needed replenishing.
"It should be ready in another hour or so," you murmur to yourself as you cover the pot once more and clean up the kitchen space as you go. You push yourself to finish ironing and folding the laundry in the conservatory before finally admitting to your tiredness. Allowing the fatigue to consume your figure, you settle yourself in the living room and curl up on the large sofa. With the throw blanket covering you, one of the sofa cushions supporting your head and the other hugged to your chest, sleep found you easily. In your dreams, you imagine being warmly accepted by the mysterious homeowner, who eventually helps you on your way to a quaint little village that you happily settle into and start a new life in.
"Captain!" Jake fumbles his way towards Steve. The morning had been a rush and flurry of activity as the group found a potential lead but was met with yet another dead end and returned back to square one. Now, as they make their way back to their temporary home, a complimentary asset that came with their year-long mission, Jake was finally able to check on their security system but panicked as soon as he saw the breach alert.
"What is it, Jake?" Steve sighs and carefully massages his temples. Four months into their mission and they have yet to make much progress at all. Things were optimistic in the beginning but time was running out quicker than he expected. As the captain, he often has to remind himself to be patient but it's hard to get a bird's eye view of things when you're in the thick of it.
"There was a breach at the cottage!"
"What?!" Lloyd snaps with Ransom close behind him. It's been years since they've had a stable home space and now it's been broken into?! This was the one clause in the contract they were adamant about for the ounce of stability it provided on their normally volatile profession; they refuse to have such an invaluable property taken away before its agreed-upon time!
"I thought you said that barrier made the cottage invisible to everyone but us!" Ransom barks with barely restrained outrage, adding to Steve's headache but the philanderer doesn't pay his captain's chilling glare any attention.
"Yes—!" Jake huffs from confusion and astonishment at the bewildering facts before him, "But because the cottage is also very isolated, it's not as high-level a barrier as it could be so high-affinity magic users can see right through it and possibly even break through,"
His explanation further angers the two main antagonists of the alarming news but, ever the mediator, Ari steps up with a calming air, "We're almost home so we can take care of things soon enough," Steve gives the mechanic of the group a grateful smile. Yes, the circumstance, after such an exhausting day, wasn't ideal but he will always appreciate additional help when taming the two wild cats of their mercenary group.
Seeing their home just ahead, Ransom and Lloyd begin to rush forward but are immediately stopped by Curtis' unyielding limbs. With a grunt, the silent surveyor and guard forces them back in warning.
"We don't know who's inside but from what Jake said it's a high-affinity magic user," Steve scolds deeply in a hushed whisper, "we can't just rush in blindly,"
The group look at their homey cottage and observe all signs of activity within. Some windows were left open with the curtains drawn, a soft golden light emits from inside and the small chimney positioned by the kitchen is billowing with smoke. It's obvious that someone else had made themselves at home in the mercenary group's absence.
"That's strange," Andy admits, seeming to have read Steve's mind as the two turn to lock eyes.
"Doesn't seem like the intruder is looking to ambush us," Steve completes their shared thought, "but that still doesn't mean they can't harm us so stay on your guard," Steve directs the group to opposite entry points about the cottage. This improves their chances of surprising their intruder as well as covering more ground. They reconnect their earpieces before setting forth on their stealth positions about the cottage; naturally, Steve separates Lloyd and Ransom to avoid their troubling behaviour together.
"Ari, Ransom, and Jake go in from the back. Curtis, Andy, Lloyd, and I will head in from the front," Steve eyes Curtis and Lloyd, "you two split off to search the upstairs while Andy and I head through to the kitchen. If we can, we’ll regroup there," with an affirming nod from all parties, they split up and take their positions accordingly.

A Whiff of Blood
Lloyd Hansen x You
Warning: Mob AU, Mob!Lloyd, Secretary!Reader, Graphic Depiction of Violence (I guess Lloyd is a warning of his own?), Reader has light hemophobia (fear of blood), and ofc, the direction mention and description of blood, sexual harassment
Summary: It is a dumb idea to be working for Lloyd when you have hemophobia.
A/N: Based on the prompt from the bingo challenge. The inspiration came from @rogerswifesblog / @rogerswifesblog-updates when we were talking about business dinners and such.
The whiff of blood drifts out of Lloyd's office. You scrunch your nose and pull out a piece of tissue with a floral scent to cover half your face.
It is a dumb idea to be working for Lloyd when you have hemophobia.
The smell grows stronger, so you uncap your perfume and spritz it all over you.
As long as you turn your head the other way, or mask the scent with something stronger, your phobia will not act up. And considering Lloyd is paying you a hefty salary and bonus, you don't complain.
After all, when choosing jobs, at best, you can only pick two features out of "well-paid", "light work", or "close to home".
You are lucky that you can drive for an hour on weekends to visit your mom who lives in the suburb.
The door to his office swings open with a loud "bang", as if - no, probably, Lloyd kicks it open, and out comes two bodyguards dragging a heavy black garbage bag.
Quite heavy. Like 70 kilograms heavy.
You wouldn't want to speculate what is inside.
You turn your head the other way, facing a rather pleased Lloyd Hansen, the mob boss who pays you to be his secretary.
"Mr. Hansen, I've secured the dinner tonight at 7 pm with Mr. Suza Brewer. He owns the biker gang Hellbend ever since you helped him take out the previous leader Fitzroy. You will be having dinner at the restaurant named Bird. It's adjacent to the Ritz-Carlton, so you can take your pick whether to stay in your suite or go back home. Either way, I'll go tell your driver Denny to get ready." You don't even bother getting up, spinning your chair in his direction, you hand him the files, with a polite smile on your face, "These, I need you to sign so your clubs will be running as usual. Your head accountant Marilyn has an appointment with you in fifteen minutes, and I've called the cleaning crew. They are ready to clean up your office right now."
Lloyd snatches a tissue paper from your desk, wiping his silver blood-stained ring on his middle finger clean, before tossing the reddened, soaked, and irritating odor tissue onto the ground and out of your sight. A small smirk on his lips, Lloyd purses his lips to stroke his mustache with his finger, "Send them in."
You nod, picking up your phone from your desk, when he holds up his hand to stop you for a moment.
"Good job, Y/N." He says curtly.
Lloyd's icy blue eyes zero on you. After a few seconds, he speaks up again, "You're coming to the dinner with me."
You nearly jump from your chair. Shocked, but most importantly, confused, because he has never asked you to present during business dinners.
After all, those who were qualified for "business" are either ruthless or sociopathic. While your boss Lloyd is both, you are neither.
"Mr. Hansen, I-"
"You're off for the rest of the day. Call Denny, he knows where to buy a decent dress." He pulls out his wallet from his inside pocket, and hands his black card to you, "Consider this a bonus." His tone unrelenting, pushing the card on the desk further towards you, he issues his final command, "And tell Denny to find you a stylist."
You swallow your refusal and take his black card.
You know he doesn't take "no" for an answer.
"Thank you, Mr. Hansen."
He hums impatiently, waving his hand to gesture that the conversation is over for him.
For the first hour of the said "business dinner", you try your best to focus on the food in front of you, instead of the Brewer man. He is a few inches shorter than Lloyd, but the look he delivers when he stares at you is simply...
Fearful. Even more than Lloyd.
Having worked for Lloyd for nearly three years, you witnessed he yelled, shouted, pulled out his gun to shoot someone's brain out (you vomited on to his shoes, very unfortunately, for which he yelled at you for approximately half an hour), and of course, being mad at some business partners and the determination in his eyes to eliminate his rivals. But none of his looks scared you like the creepy feeling Suza Brewer brings you.
Lloyd gives off the vibe that he will shoot you alive, while Suza Brewer could skin someone alive. And Suza has not stopped stealing glances in your direction ever since you and Lloyd presented in this dinner.
You look at your plate, cutting a small chunk of carrot in half. Trying your best to ignore the four bodyguards, two from Lloyd and two from Brewer, standing in the back.
Convincing yourself. Maybe this Brewer guy likes to look, similar to many men who passed by your desk to reach Lloyd's office.
You raise your eyes carefully, taking a long exhale as you continue to persuade yourself that Suza Brewer brought a lady to the dinner, probably also why Lloyd has asked you to come along.
After a few glasses of wine, the girl Suza brought sat on his lap boldly, feeding him bites of cherry tomatoes.
"I'll say yes to your proposal. You and me, 50-50." Suza suddenly lets out a laugh, "I just want one tiny thing to sweeten the deal." He squints his eyes, and points his finger towards you, "I want - her."
The small chunk of carrot lingers on your lips as you are about to eat.
The young girl's jealousy could tear you in half, Suza's greasy lips smack together, as if tasting your flesh, and Lloyd simply looks at you, with minimum expression you have ever seen on his face.
"Excuse me?" Lloyd clenches his teeth.
"C'mon, buddy." Brewer smacks Lloyd a bit too hard on his shoulder, barking laughter with his yellow crooked teeth exposed into the air, "You can't keep such a sexy thing all to yourself, eh?" He wiggles his eyes suggestively, "Don't tell me you haven't fucked her yet?"
Now you HAVE to say something.
"Mr. Brewer, I assure you that my work with Mr. Hansen is strictly professional." You smile politely, raising your glass for a toast, "In fact, I think that's what we all want, Mr. Brewer, to have a long-term stable business relationship with Mr. Hansen. Here's to our thriving partnership-"
Brewer gets up from his chair and sways towards you. He could barely walk straight but he still manages to stand behind your chair, lowering his head right where your ear is.
As he speaks, he reeks of wine and meat.
"I'm talking to your boss, bitch. " Brewer snarls, slapping your hand so hard that your wine glass falls to the table. Startling you when you are trying to stay calm. "You are but a plaything to Lloyd Fucking Hansen and I'll have you whether you like it or not."
Now here's the difference between Brewer and the rest of the men who pass you to get to Lloyd's office. For those men, they work for Lloyd, and hence, they wouldn't dare to touch "Lloyd's belonging", which is you. Brewer, on the other hand, is a total wild card, which you understand perfectly as Lloyd worked with him to kill Brewer's adoptive father Fitzroy.
He is as unpredictable and unstable as Lloyd, maybe even more so, because Lloyd certainly hasn't laid a finger on you ever since you worked for him, neither sexually nor violently.
You even your breath as Brewer leans closer He grabs your boobs with his hand, having you freeze on your seat.
"In fact, I'll invite him to watch how I fuck his pretty little whore."
The chill seeps deep into your bones. You urge your body to fight back, but sanity tells you that you would probably end up in a dumpster with a bullet hole on your forehead if you ruin this big deal for Lloyd. For a brief second, you think about begging Lloyd. But in reality, your mind is point blank as the mindset in between "fight or flight" kicks in, and it instructs your body to play dead.
It might be a few seconds. Or a few minutes, before your savior swoops in, saying something that sounds like mumbling to your brain.
"We're done here." Lloyd growls, snatching your wrist with a grip hard enough to bruise, tugging you harshly to leave. Your knee and thigh bump into the wooden arm of the chair, to which you bite your lip in pain, and still too shocked to get your language system back online.
"But our contract-" Brewer shouts to Lloyd.
"I'll get back to you." Lloyd snaps back, pushing and shoving your back to move before him.
Your mind is a blur and cannot recall how Lloyd stuffs you into his limo when he steps outside to smoke. He did, however, throw his coat onto you and shut the car door with a loud "thud", having front-row driver Denny lowering the panel between you, whispering with much concern, "What's wrong?"
You curl your fingers into the black woolen coat. Folding it neatly as you have done hundreds of times when he throws his coat over you or over your desk. Placing it on your legs.
"Here. I'll tune the AC up." Denny showers you with his sympathetic look, as he has never seen you so out of yourself, so soulless, and shivering.
Your mind has been replaying how Brewer grabbed your boobs, and the filth he talked about. You also know that you have nowhere to hide, if Lloyd is determined to get something done, if he wants to deliver you to Brewer.
Though the tinted car window muffled some of Lloyd's angry shouting, you are still able to comprehend that Lloyd just got mad again.
"... CALL ME WHEN IT'S DONE!" Lloyd yells at his phone, opening the car door, and sliding in, taking a big inhale of the warm air inside. Glancing at you, he seems not having returned from his angry state, "AND THIS COAT IS NOT -" He lets out a grumpy huff, "never mind."
After a moment of silence, you feel like you should make your statement, no matter if Lloyd being unreasonable. You simply have to.
It's your life at stake here.
"Mr. Hansen, I just wanted to tell you that it has been a pleasure working with you these past three years. i have gained much experience and knowledge working as your personal secretary and assistant. I want to express my thanks for you cultivating me into a qualifying secretary and no matter what happens, I would want you to know that I cherish our business relationship and accept the consequence."
Lloyd listens through your statement surprisingly patiently, and pinpoints the most crucial idea (he thought that it was) throughout your entire speech, "You want a raise?"
You stutter, "No-No! Mr. Hansen! I wouldn't - What you have given me is well beyond market average and I appreciate your confidence in me."
"Ah. So you want to quit?"
His cold blue eyes stare into you. You gulp in fear.
"Yes, I mean - No, I don't want to quit. But circumstances have ... arisen, which makes me wonder ... uh, if I was able to -"
"I've had enough of it." He grumbles, twisting the ring on his finger, "Your next sentence starts with 'I want' and stop using these big words, sunshine. One sentence. Not another word."
"I - I want you to not deliver me to Suza Brewer." You quickly say, "Mr. Hansen." You did your best to be respectful.
His grumpy expression lingers on his face for a second, before turning into disbelief, "That's all you're asking for?"
"Yes...? I really liked working with you, Mr. Hansen, and I don't want to be put into a position that you are choosing between me and your ... business." Seeing that his mustache is twitching, inching close to a sneer, you add, "If you could just let me go, and claimed that I slipped through your custody or got away as soon as I could, I think that Mr. Suza would not mind that much -"
His index finger points up to shush you.
Lloyd snorts, fishing out a box of tictac and popping two colored-candy into his mouth.
Crushing the sugary treat with his jaw, he closes his eyes and roots his upper body firmly onto the back seat, "Denny, take us to the warehouse by the Westside Pier."
The Westside Pier.
The one place Lloyd would go to if he captures a traitor or fulfills a hitman contract.
The one place he could make a body completely go away.
He's about to end ... you?
The cold October wind does nothing to help you fight against the icy feeling in your bones.
The stylist Denny founded accompanied you during shopping and chose a most-fitting black dress for you, which goes a little over the knees. Along with the warm AC everywhere, the length didn't bother you -
-until now.
You hold Lloyd's folded coat in your hand, following Lloyd out of the car with teeth clattering, more out of cold than of the horrible thoughts of what he would do to you.
Lloyd turns around, grunting in a sarcastic way, "Can't believe your clever brain didn't work out why the coat-" before he stops whatever that's about to go through his lips, roughly taking the coat from your hands and putting it around your shoulders, "Try not to freeze to death."
Your hesitant expression must have been obvious, because he looks at you and purses his lips in slight irritation, "Don't do anything stupid. And follow me."
What does this even mean? That he doesn't want to kill you after all? Or that he has changed his mind and thought you know too many secrets to be alive?
Your mind buzzing with thoughts as you follow Lloyd through the gate of the notorious warehouse.
The swinging lightbulb over your head and the faint smell of blood make you nauseous. You have not stepped foot into this warehouse because you have heard of the cruel things Lloyd has done to his opponents, all of which happened here.
"I don't care how much your boss pays you, I-I'll pay you double!" A man screeches pathetically, taking hit after hit on his stomach from Lloyd's muscle man as two other hold him upright.
Looking at Lloyd's direction, the man's swollen and bruised face lights up in an instant.
"Lloyd! Buddy!" He gobbles in a mouthful of blood, "So glad, ehhehe, you came!"
Lloyd grabs his hair, and punches him in the stomach.
"Fuck you, buddy," Lloyd swings another punch at Brewer's stomach, a cold smile on his lips, "fuck you, alright?"
A sharp scream of pain. "Lloyd, I don't understand-"
Lloyd drags his head in front of you, bending his neck to face you, to which you cover your nose because of the strong smell of blood bombarding your nerves. "There. She's my people. You disrespect her, you disrespect me. Got it, you dumb fuck?"
"Sorry!" The man shrieks his apology, "I'm sorry!"
Oh. So that's what he meant.
You bury your nose under his soft woolen coat. Burying the lower half of your face. Your cheeks getting warm, and a small grin creeps up.
Feels kind of nice. To have someone watching over you.
"Our business," Brewer pants, coughing out blood, losing a few of his teeth, "you need me to do our business, Lloyd."
Lloyd smirks, waving to gesture the removal of Brewer.
The man is still screaming he's sorry, but the two muscles hold him by his arms, forcing him to stand on the edge of the pier and tying a large rock around his waist.
"But Mr. Hansen," You stop him in his tracks, "your business, your deal with-"
You point towards Suza Brewer, now with a gag so all he could manage is some muffled voices.
"Don't worry your head around it, sunshine." Lloyd places his hand on the coat collar and tugging it tighter. The look on his face blank, but somehow more sincere than his cold grins, "I'm working with his stepbrother now. Pal is so grateful that I help him take care of Suza; he decided to offer me 70% of the cut."
You let out a whispered "Oh". Glad that Lloyd's "business" is thriving but also ... not that glad.
He's doing this for his business after all ... while he'd get to ... make it up for you?
A strange feeling tugging your heart. Some sort of relief, but not entirely. You are disappointed, somehow, as if you believed there should have been more to this gesture.
The muffled screaming stops after a loud splash comes from the edge of the pier.
The three muscle men return. One of them announces: "He's been taken care of, boss."
Smelling the whiff of blood on them, you can't help but crouch onto the ground and hurl your guts out.
Lloyd gestures those men to "beat it". And as the air clears from the smell of rusted iron and salt, a white handkerchief dangles in front of your eyes.
"Don't puke over my shoes again." Lloyd stands still, pinching his handkerchief between his index and middle finger, handing it to you.
You gag a few times, covering your mouth with the smooth white handkerchief, turning into another direction other than his shoes.
"Mr. Hansen, I don't know you -" You fight the instinct to be sick in front of him, standing up from your crouching position with wobbly legs, "carry a handkerchief." You take a deep breath to calm your nerves, wiping the corner of your mouth using the white fabric, now stained with the red smudge of your lipstick, "I'll dry clean it along with your coat, and send it-"
He seizes the handkerchief and stuffs it in his front pocket, "Don't bother."
He pats on your shoulder. The same way he would pat his men. A silent encouragement and praise of "Good work".
"Mr. Hansen, I-"
You want to say something. The precise moment when your heart skipped a beat and you've captured something vague in your mind, some terrifying yet imminent. Your bones rattle in the possibility of the blurry idea. But when his blue eyes turn to you, the idea takes its chance and slips from your mind.
"-thank you." Is all you could say.
"Wait for me in the car." He searches his pocket for his box of matches and cigarette, waving his hand, shushing you away, with the cig between his lips. He sounds stern as ever, but deep down, you feel like something has changed.
Lloyd watches you as you head back to the car. You, his tiny, fragile, delicate, poor little secretary who gets sick at the sight or the smell of blood.
He watches you still wrapped in his coat. When the cold October wind sweeps by your feet, you shiver under the warm expensive wool.
He stares for a long time when the match used to light his cigarette burns the tip of his fingers.
"Shit." He grumbles.

Right where you belong
Summary: lloyd comforts you after a long shitty day.
A/N: THSI IS JUST a comfort drabble i made one day, felt like posting it
warning: fluff, angst, lloyd is a cutie as always.
You felt like absolute shit, you didn't know what to do, you just got fired from your job, it didn't matter , you never liked it anyway, but it still didn't hurt any less, you should've known your boss wasn't kidding on the submission of the work on time. The one time you forget to submit on due this happens.
You didn't know what to do, that's why you were currently on your way back to your apartment, sure you're job paid you good enough to rent out a big apartment in New York, one with a great view of the city, but it suddenly felt lonely. Like you had no one to share your sorrows with, when you entered, you weren't in the mood to deal with your mom , and didn't wanna worry her . Your "friend" Sam from work is such a bitch you didn't know why you still hang out with her, she was partially the reason you got fired.
You opened the door of your apartment, and entered in , expecting silence that you knew you had to wash down with some whiskey along with your sorrows, but instead you found lloyd , the 6 foot moustache man sitting in your couch in an ugly Christmas sweater and loafers, wearing a santa hat,he gave you a big grin. "Didn't expect me did ya sunshine?"
You froze , overwhelmed with emotions, you only remember tears streaming down your face as you let it all out, being cradled again Lloyds chest. "Shh..shh .. calm down didn't know you missed me so much " he joked , but he knew this was about something more than that, he'd never seen you cry before ,we'll except for those stupid movies you'd watch, he'd never seen you upset over real world things.
You wept and wept and wept before you finally told him everything, it was not just getting fired from your job, but your bitch friends, having the worst week of your life, having to spend Christmas alone without lloyd because he had been away for work . "Shh it's okay sunshine...so what that asshole fired you, you'll find a better job at a bigger place, that company was not good enough for you anyway . " He reasoned. Just those words made you feel better .
"thanks Lloyd, that's what I think too, i ...maybe i should leave new york and look for a job elsewhere." Lloyd rubbed your back soothingly, calming you down.
"of course sunshine.....move to masechussetes with me yeah? Move in with me yeahh, I can wake up to you everyday." Lloyd says. You were shocked , didn't expect it from lloyd hansen of all people, you both were just hooking up , never wanting to put labels , but couldn't stay away from each other ,though you both lived in different states, but you always knew he cared for you in his own way, you just never expected these words to come out of his mouth.
"Lloyd.." you smile at his words."I need to find a job in Massachusetts first ..."
"ohh come on ,just be with me I'll take care of ya, you don't need a job..."
"you don't get to decide that if I need a job or not.." though you knew he was just messing with you and trying to cheer you up.
"hmm I know that ,...how bout this, you move to masechussetes with me first and we'll make up for all the most time , and I'll apologize for working through Christmas..."
"you better -" you glared at lloyd playfully.
"oh or course i plan to, why did you think i wore a fucking Christmas sweater and this hat.."
"hmm looks good on on you" you says laughing.
"well thanks sunshine...as I was saying, move to masechussetes first and then maybe we'll look for a job for you." He said placing his hands gently on your hips
"that's not how it works.. lloyd, I need to find a job first , and then move-"
"oh come on you don't even need a job, just stay in my place you'll get whatever you want , you can just stay there painting or reading books all day or whatever it is you feel like doing, maybe me, you can do me all day... And then if you really want to we can get you a job there."
"that does sound like a dream ..but I'm fine i don't expect you to take care of me I can take care of my-"
"yeahh yeahh you can take care of yourself, I know, you're very capable sunshine I've seen it first hand, but just ...let me " he pressed a kiss to the back of your palm.
"I have no problem in letting you take care of me baby...i - " you held yourself back from saying those words though you've both said it multiple times during sex or when you were drunk. It wasn't offical y/n , don't make a fool of yourself, don't make a scene.
"what was that sunshine, complete your words .." lloyd said grinning.
"I love you" lloyd pressed his lips to yours the moment you said it.
"I know babygirl, i love you too ." You allowed your arms around him. "And i want you to be mine, that's all in asking."
"you want me to move to masechussetes?" You ask head still buried in between his arms and firm chest.
"I'd love for you to... but only if you want to, if you wanna stay in new york that's fine too"
"noo i ...I wanna be with you." You said.
"then move to masechussetes?" Lloyd asked hopefully.
"gimme kisses first and maybe put that mouth of yours to good use." You said poking at Lloyds chest.
"well somebody's demanding." While he was already on his knees spreading your legs wide open .
"I've had a shitty day ,I deserve this " .

I kinda ran late for school this morning but I couldn't help but think about…
Profound husband!Lloyd who holds your toddler on his hip while knocking on the bathroom door when you're still washing up in the morning. You verbally express your annoyance and he apologizes because the kids just won't have anything besides you.
Profound husband!Lloyd who does his best to handle the bunch when you're out of it and during mornings because he knows you're not a morning person and such a sensory load on top of it is too much for you.
Profound husband!Lloyd who steps aside with an apologetic smile when you huff as you open the door but make no effort to interact with the bunch and walk away, ignoring the multiple “Mommy, Mommy”s.
Profound husband!Lloyd who just snorts when you grumble “Get all that away from me” before walking to the balcony. He sends the kids to the breakfast table with a promise that you two will be joining them soon, handing them the toddler too.
Profound husband!Lloyd knows you don't mean it the way you put it and that you love your family and children as much as he does. But you're his original baby. He knows how sensitive and moody you can be at times.
Profound husband!Lloyd doesn't mind. He carefully approaches you and comfortingly rubs your arms from behind. “Hey, don't be mean. The kids just love you is all” he still chooses to remind you for the sake of his children. “Like you love your own mom.”
Profound husband!Lloyd doesn't mind as you scoff and roll your eyes. “But I am not my mom. She's a wonderful woman and mother. I am just… me.”
Profound husband!Lloyd sighs as he gathers you up in his arms and kisses your cheek. “Hey, now” his nose grazes your soft skin. “You're just as amazing. I'd honestly say you're better.” He knows you're not too confident in yourself at times. Especially as a wife and mother. “You're perfect, honey. Just stay with us.” Warm comfort washes over you and let yourself relax in his arms. “The kids love you. I love you.” You have a knack for constantly recalculating your worth and doubting your make. Luckily for you, you've profound husband Lloyd to always catch you when you're about to fall.
.
My first Lloyd fic was a soft fluff, I love that man like he's my own old man, and I am afraid I'll die on that ship.

YOU’RE A MEAN ONE.
PAIRING — lloyd hansen x doctor f!reader
CONTENTS — one-shot; coarse language; rom-com vibes???; dark but soft???; new year special; allusions to violence; blood/injury; fluff; and i would say morally grey protagonists but tbh there’s nothing really grey about them.
SUMMARY — They say that there’s nothing more frightening than a pissed off, gun-wielding, profusely-bleeding Lloyd Hansen who’s trying to be nice… except, maybe, for his equally unstable doctor.
WORD COUNT — 1.8k (omg finally a short one!!)
NOTES — this is my first time writing for lloyd and it was so much fun, even if writing a rom-com style piece for a couple of psychopaths is still extremely hard lmao. i might make this AU a ~thing~ later, although i’m still a bit unsure 👀 anyway, happy new year, my loves! bonus points if you can pinpoint my pushing daisies reference 🤭
✩ masterlist ✩ library blog

Lloyd stares down at the brown file folder lying open on the kitchen counter, your picture pinned to the inside flap, pondering how quickly even the most carefully laid plans can change.
Because you were supposed to be the means to an end. He’s been doing this a very long time and he’s since learned, that for men like Sierra Six, it always comes down to sentiment. According to Carmichael’s intel, before you left the CIA for the private sector in search of more, let’s say, lucrative work, you and Court Gentry had quite the history—the sordid romantic kind, the kind that’s the easiest to exploit.
Lloyd scoffs, his hand tightening around his wine glass. The thought of you in bed with that rogue CIA shitbag makes him physically ill, and he quickly throws back the remainder of his drink to push down the bile that’s rising in his throat.
You were supposed to be bait. Lloyd was to kidnap you and hold you hostage, use you to lure Gentry out into the open. It’s a classic move; it had worked so swimmingly—er, for the most part—with Fitzroy and his niece, after all.
But he’s made a devastating miscalculation.
He failed to consider how different you’d be compared to what was written about you on paper. He already knew you were probably decent, if not outright good, at your job, but to be singlehandedly the most talented surgeon he’s ever met? And he’s met a lot of them, given his line of work. At the very least, you are a million leagues ahead of his previous physician; casualties have gone down drastically since you came around.
And even though he’s been shot, stabbed, and shivved more times than he can count, he can barely even see the scars those wounds left behind. Your sutures are impeccable, each stitch immaculate and uniform, like a work of fucking art—and he’s not exactly the kind of man who’s known for appreciating art.
Not to mention you are absolutely fearless. The day you met, when he’d slapped those handcuffs on you and pressed the barrel of his gun to your temple, demanding your cooperation or else he’d splatter the walls with your pretty little brains, you simply smirked and said, “I don’t know, Mr… Hansen, was it? I only bow down to one master.”
He almost swore.
“Talk dirty to me then, sweetheart,” he quipped back, his lips brushing over the shell of your ear, not expecting you to lean in closer and press yourself to places you had no business touching.
“The almighty dollar,” you whispered, your beautiful face then splitting into a wide and menacing grin that matched his own. He felt a shiver shoot up his spine and almost ruined his favourite pair of pants on the spot. Lloyd took a deep whiff then, his nose buried in your hair, the sweet smell of your shampoo mixing with the distinct scent of batshit crazy. It made him a little lightheaded, to be honest.
To a mercenary like himself who’s loyalty also only ever lay with the highest bidder—and he uses the term “loyalty” with a very large grain of salt, the kind that’s less like a grain and more like those blocks they give cows to lick—you were a woman after his own damn heart.
He really had no choice then, did he, but to place you under his employ. Not only was he already in the market for a new doctor, he needed someone exactly like you—someone who showed no fear whenever Lloyd lost his temper and threw one of his infamous tantrums. Even Brewer would have to leave the room with a roll of her eyes, but the way her shoulders tensed up belying her discomfort… but you?
“Calm down and shut the fuck up already,” you’d tell him, looking bored as you carefully inspected your perfectly manicured nails, “or else I’ll pump you so full of ketamine your pathetic little heart explodes.”
You’d then bat away the barrel of his gun that he points at you in anger, calling him a goddamn drama queen. You never bat an eyelash whenever he returns to the base with someone else’s blood splattered all over his clothes, some of it even dripping from the ends of his hair.
And on occasions when he does return all banged up and cut open, you’d giggle manically as you unravelled a roll of gauze, bundling the strands together in a tight wad before unceremoniously jamming it into his wounds. He’d scream in surprise and agony, a litany of curses bouncing off the walls while you ordered some nearby men to hold him down by the shoulders. Once it was over, with Lloyd panting through the pain and sweat dotting his hairline, you’d unabashedly boop him on the nose with a proud grin.
“Here you go, Boss Man,” you’d cackle, pulling off the plastic off a lollipop and shoving the candy into his mouth, sugar mixing with iron on his tongue. “For being such a good boy.”
If anyone else spoke to him the way you do, they would already be sinking to the bottom of the harbour. Whenever he threatens to end your insolent, insignificant life with a simple wave of his hand—because what exactly did you think happened to his old doctor?—you’d laugh right in his face as though you don’t believe him.
You really are fucking insane, aren’t you?
Lloyd rules over his criminal syndicate with an iron fist, a notoriously short fuse of a temper, and a penchant for holding grudges for as long as it suits him. It’s why, even though it’s been weeks now since he last saw signs of Sierra Six in the vicinity, he should still be more than determined to use you to get even.
All good things to those who wait, after all, and Lloyd definitely knows how to savour a meal.
He’s killed countless times before and slept soundly afterward, sometimes pulling the trigger so casually he didn’t even bother looking at his target. He’s never had any moral qualms about using people to get what he wants, then disposing of them once they were no longer useful. You wouldn’t be the first, and you certainly would not be the last. He can make it so that nobody even knows you’re missing, and he should, by all means, enjoy every last delicious second of it.
So, why?
Why, if he is all those things and more, are you somehow the dangerous one?
Because, a voice taunts him, a voice he’s both thrilled and loathed to realize is none other than his own… wait, what’s the opposite of a conscience?
You won’t do a damned thing. Not now, and not ever. Lloyd picks up your file and, after a few more seconds of meaningless contemplation, he tosses it into the nearby fireplace. He watches, growing more satisfied by the second, as the flames lick at and curl the edges of the pages, the logs popping and crackling until there’s nothing left but cinders and ashes.
Because you and everyone else in this godforsaken place is wrapped around her tiny little finger. Everyone at the mansion straightens and practically salutes when you pass, some of them staring after you longingly as you walk by. Men hardened by years of service, disillusioned by a government that was more than happy to use them for their own means and then leave them to fend for themselves once they were back on home soil, simper and whine just for a few seconds of your attention.
It makes him fucking seethe, so much so that he’s made sure to threaten every single one of them with acid poured into the empty eye sockets—oh, because they will be empty once he’s scooped the eyeballs out of their heads with a dull and rusty melon baller—of the next person who makes heart eyes at you.
After all, while they say that near death experiences can change a man, it can’t change him that much.
“You’re not supposed to be drinking yet,” your voice drifts into the kitchen, prompting him to turn around and smirk when he sees you leaning against the doorway, that blasted white coat doing things to him it shouldn’t be. You glance around, noting the lit candles and chilled champagne, smile growing wider when you smell a roast cooking in the oven. “And here I was thinking you only ever call on me when you’re bleeding or dying.”
“You’re my doctor, that’s kind of how it works,” Lloyd snarks, knowing that, if he’s lucky, you’ll make him pay for that comment later. “And I’m not dyin’ anytime soon, cupcake.”
“Is that right,” you chortle, striding closer to pour yourself a glass of wine. The movement jostles your coat open enough that he can see your outfit underneath, the same one you’d been wearing when you stitched him up the other night. “So, this isn’t your blood that came out of a giant hole someone cut into your body, staining all of my nice clothes?”
“Occupational hazard, but if it makes you feel better—” and since when did he care about what made people feel better? “—I’ll buy you a whole new wardrobe,” he offers, eyes trailing up the shape of your thighs, the mouthwatering curve of your hips, his hand finding its way into the delicious dip of your waist. For the first time in his life, Lloyd is seriously considering honouring a promise.
“You certainly know the way to my heart,” you turn around in his arms and loop one arm around his waist. He yelps when you press at his wound, the skin healing well but still tender. God damn, he thinks as he watches your gaze darken; it actually gets your rocks off when he’s in pain, doesn’t it? “Looks like you’ll live another day, at least.”
“Oh, fuck off,” he can’t help but quip. The oven timer goes off suddenly, at the exact same time the clock strikes twelve. “Now get your claws off me, you sick freak, or the food’s gonna burn.”
Despite the colourful nicknames, you seat yourself at the table and softly hum your approval, sounding much more pleased than offended. And Lloyd knows he’s just as crazy as you are, even though there really hadn’t been much doubt, because he proceeds to serve you dinner in full view of his henchmen. He doesn’t think they’ve ever seen him set foot in the kitchen once since he started this little business of his, but tonight they will learn.
You are his, the Harley to his Joker, a tenacious but not so delicate flower blooming in the concrete. Tonight, he finally makes that clear to everyone who’s around to see, and they all have no choice but to bow down to the newly minted queen of his castle.
“Happy new year, Boss Man,” you grin, “think we’ll make it to the next one?”
“Maybe,” he considers before clinking his wine glass against yours, leaning in close enough to taste the dessert off your lips, “no thanks to you, sunshine.”
It earns him another pinch, but damn it all if he doesn’t like it.

The wrappers were usually a good indicator that Lloyd broke into the sweet cupboard again.
Your boyfriend had an insane sweet tooth, made worse when he was stressed. And work had been kicking his ass as of late.
But the last thing you expected when pushing through the front door was Lloyd rushing towards you.
"Baby!" Lloyd quite literally sweeps you off of your feet, squeezing you tightly.
"Oof- Hello." You chuckle pecking his lips. "how was work?"
"Good. I've been doing some housework and dinner is on and I thought we could watch a movie." He says rattling through options quickly without taking a breath. "There's that cute animated one that came out recently."
"Woah woah woah," you hold up your hands as he sets you down. "Slow down. Jeez Lloyd, what's gotten into you?"
You remove your coat and hang it on the coat rack, kicking off your shoes as Lloyd shifts from foot to foot. You raise an eyebrow at him.
"How many sweets did you eat?" You ask suspiciously and Lloyd looks guilty immediately.
"That's not important."
Walking to the kitchen, Lloyd argues with you the entire way; ranging from it was only a few, you shouldnt be so comcerned and okay maybe it was a little more than a few. Finding the box of sweets is easy but when you go to pick out one of your favourites, you notice the box is full of wrappers.
"Lloyd." You hiss, aghast. "The whole box?"
For a moment Lloyd looks sheepish, like a school boy being chided, before he waves a hand dismissively with a grin.
"I'll buy another one." He says, rushing forward and capturing your hands. "Anyway - not important. You're home. Go pick out a movie, a good one."
He kisses each hand, tickling them with his moustache and naking you giggle.
"You're having a sugar rush," you shake your head before holding up your hands in defeat. "You'll have an awesome time in a few hours when you have the sugar crash."
"Eh," Lloyd shrugs, clearly nonplussed. "All I care about is spending time with my sweetheart."
You roll your eyes and peck his cheek, your annoyance melting into a puddle at your feet. "You know how to make a heart melt, don't ya?" You tease softly, shaking your head.
Lloyd gives you a grin. "So am I forgiven?"
"For now."

Can I please request best friends, dad!Lloyd, finding you masturbating in his bed!! Maybe include some toys+squirting?? Thnnnx!! Love your blog💘💘
hey honey, thank you so much!
summary - you've been pining over your best friend's dad and decide to take your chance, knowing he's out and your best friend is asleep, you be a little bit naughty and touch yourself on his bed, not knowing he's coming home early.
warning - smut, masturbating, voyeurism, squirting.
18+ only please, the gif I use isn't mine, divider by @newlips
You were sneaky, waiting until your best friend fell asleep so you could sneak out of her room. You’ve hung around enough to know that her father works late, only coming home early in the morning, sometimes covered in blood. You had a slight crush on the man. I mean, could you really be blamed? Wearing your tiny white nightie as you head toward Mr Hansen’s room, you sneak inside, not bothering to close the door as your friend sleeps deeply.
Your trusty toy tucked into your hand, with your free hand, you drag it along his sheets, sighing as they are so soft. You get wet just thinking about Lloyd lying naked between the sheets, stroking his thick member. You whimper, crawling onto the bed and lying down. You moan as your body relaxes. Your eyes slip closed, and your fingers skim your nipples. They slowly slide down your body, landing between your legs and circling your puffy clit.
You blindly turn your toy on, placing it directly onto your clit, causing soft mewls to escape your lips. Your mind begins to drift off thinking of Lloyd, imagining him walking in on you, degrading you, until he finally flips you around and thrusts into you. You are so caught up in pleasure that you don’t hear Lloyd arriving home earlier than usual or entering the house and making his way to his room. You don’t even notice him leaning against the doorway, and you whine as you arch your back, grinding down onto the toy. “Oh, Mr Hansen.”
Lloyd crosses his arms as he watches you with a smirk and clears his throat. His smirk grows when your eyes fly open, and you freeze, mouth opening and closing as you try and find an excuse for why you are in his bed, touching yourself. “Well, sweetheart. If I had known this is what I would’ve been coming home to, I would’ve come home much faster.” His eyes slowly move down your body, licking his lips when they land on the soaked toy between your legs. Lloyd waves his hand. “Don’t stop on my account, please. Continue.”
“M–mr Hans–” He cuts you off with a raised brow. You feel your body heat up and your cunt throb as he stares you down. You gasp as you press the toy harder against your clit, and your legs fall open, giving Lloyd a better view.
“Mm, that’s right, pretty girl. Get off in my bed. I bet you wouldn’t even be able to stop even if my daughter woke.” He smirks, making his way over and sitting close to you on the bed, causing your mind to go fuzzy from his scent alone. You throb when he touches your thigh, stroking it as his gaze sticks to the toy between your legs. “You’re such a naughty girl, pining over your best friend’s dad… Hmm.” You look at him with wide eyes, mouth falling open and eyes crossing. “You thought I didn’t notice? It’s quite flattering, pumpkin. Why do you think I walked around half-naked? Or brushed up against you.” Lloyd smirks, stroking your cheek before gripping your chin and resting his thumb on your plump bottom lip. “Are you going to cum for me? Make a mess on my sheets?”
You whine, nodding. Lloyd groans when your lips wrap around his thumb, and you begin to suck, staring up at him with wide innocent eyes. Your walls pulsate, and your clit throbs, toes curling as your end approaches. “Mr Hansen!” Your back arches, and your juices squirt out of you, tiring your body and causing you to sag into the bed. Your eyes flutter, the toy falling limp between your legs. “I–I’m sorry…” You realise what you have done and try to get up, but Lloyd stops you.
“Don’t be sorry, pumpkin. That’s the hottest thing I’ve ever seen.” Lloyd grabs the toy, feeling his cock stir with how wet it is and holds it up, watching with a smirk as your juices create a string. “Naughty, naughty girl. Look at the mess you’ve made.” You watch with wide eyes as he licks up your arousal before throwing the toy aside and climbing on top of you. “Just because you’ve had your fun, sweetness, doesn’t mean you can leave. You don’t want to leave without letting me pump you full, right?”
You shake your head, feeling your cunt throb in anticipation. Your fantasy was finally coming true.
thank you for reading!

Ooo can I please request a Platonic!Dad!Lloyd Hansen X adopted daughter reader where he finds a little girl around 3 years old on one of his jobs? Like he was hired to either get information from her parents or off them (probably hired to do this by Carmichael, probably related to his corruption😬), but when he gets to the address of where they supposedly are located, the parents had fled (they probably knew Lloyd was coming) and left their daughter behind (bad parents!!). I feel like this would actually make Lloyd really mad because while he does some not so legal, or ethical stuff, he’d never abandon his child if he were a Dad. Even though Lloyd is naturally a very intimidating man, with a lot of people being very afraid of him, ironically the little girl runs up to him and wants to be held by him and it warms Lloyd’s villain heart 🥺 He decides right then and there that she is his daughter now like, “Okay, well, I’m your Dad now!” and takes her on his private jet (she’d be super excited to be on a plane, climbing on his lap to look out the window and pointing to all the exciting things she sees, Lloyd would think it’s adorable) back to the castle/mansion he’s living in. Aww and when they arrive at the castle, she would be absolutely amazed because it’s a literal castle and she’d probably be like “Am I a princess now??” Suzanne would be shook that one, he didn’t get the information they needed, and two he brought a child back with him, and three that he let the targets get away but he’d be like, “Hey I’m a father now, I have other responsibilities” (lmao you know he loves getting under Suzanne’s skin). But anyway he’s just such a sweet Dad to Y/n and definitely treats her like she’s a princess and loves her so much (definitely spoils her rotten!)
My Kid Now » Lloyd Hansen
Pairings: Dad!Lloyd Hansen x Adopted Daughter!Reader
Summary: Lloyd was hired to get information on your parents or “take them out”, but they left before he could do either of those things, only to find out they left you behind and he decided to adopt you and raise you as his own child.
Warnings: Fluff, language, child abandonment (not Lloyd), crying, nicknames
Age of reader: 3 years old
A/N: Thank you for the lovely detailed request @kpopgirlbtssvt 🩵
Written on my phone. My apologies for any mistakes.

GIF IS NOT MINE! Gif credit goes to the creator.

Lloyd got a call from Carmichael to go get information on a couple. If they don’t give him the answers he wants, he “takes them out”. When he gets to the house, he ransacks the house with his employees, only to find out that they left and took the information he needs with them.
“Mommy? Daddy?” You say as you waddled in the living room, holding your favorite stuffed animal.
Lloyd and his employees froze when they heard your child like voice. They all looked down to see a 3 year old little girl standing a few feet away from them. You looked around, only to find out that your parents are nowhere in the house. Your bottom lip quivered and you bursted into tears. You wanted to be held so you ran to the closet person to you, which is Lloyd. You looked up at him with teary eyes and doing grabby hands up at him. Lloyd hands his gun to one of his employees before picking you up. It took him a few minutes to calm you down.
“My name is Lloyd. Can you tell me your name, sweetheart?” Lloyd asks softly.
“Y/N.” You sniffled.
“How old are you?” He asks.
“3.” You tell him.
“Do you know where your parents are?” He asks.
“They go bye-bye.” You tell him.
That was enough to tell Lloyd that your parents left and left you behind. Lloyd has done a lot of horrible things, but nothing as horrible as leaving a child behind. He would never do that to his own child. That got him thinking. You can’t be left here alone. He has to take matters into his own hands.
“Ok, well, I’m your dad now!” Lloyd says.
“Really?” You asked and sniffled.
“Of course, sunshine.” He smiles.
You smiled and hugged him. Lloyd took you to your bedroom and packed most of what you need. Clothes, shoes, and obviously your favorite stuffed animal and favorite blanket. He made a mental note to himself to buy you stuff a 3 year old might need. You got then got a ride to his private jet. Lloyd got you settled in a seat with your blanket, stuffed animal, and a snack and juice. He found some blank paper and colored pens for you to keep you occupied. The paper and pens kept you occupied for a little bit until you got interested in looking out of the jet windows. You carefully slid out of your seat and climbed onto Lloyd’s lap to look out the window. You pointed at every interesting thing you saw. He held onto you so you didn’t fell off his lap.
“The clouds look like cotton candy and marshmallows.” You say.
Lloyd smiles at your cuteness.
“Where are the birdies?” You asked.
“I don’t think birdies can fly this high, pumpkin.” He says.
“What about butterflies?” You asked.
“I’m not sure.” He answers with a smile.
“Everything is so tiny.” You say, changing the subject.
Lloyd couldn’t help but laugh softly when you said that. When you got to Lloyd’s mansion, all you did was stare at it. You thought it was a castle.
“Am I a princess now?” You asked in amazement.
“Only if you want to be.” Lloyd says with a smile.
Lloyd carried you inside of his mansion. He got you set up in the living room while he got your things off the jet and into one of the spare bedrooms. He also set up that same spare bedroom as your bedroom.
“Y/N, I want to show you something.” Lloyd says as he walks in the living room.
“What is it?” You asked curiously, looking up at him.
“Come with me and you’ll find out, pumpkin.” He says with a smile.
You did grabby hands, singling for him to pick you up, in which he did. Lloyd carried you upstairs to your new bedroom.
“What do you think of your new bedroom?” He asks.
“I love it!” You exclaimed happily.
You tapped on his shoulder, telling him to put you down. Lloyd gently put you back on your feet. You ran around your new bedroom and checked out everything. It’s not much yet, but it’s a work in progress.
“I know it’s not much right now, but I’ll get you anything you might want to add to the room.” He says.
“Like what?” You asked.
“Anything you want.” He says.
You thought about it for a moment.
“I know what I want!” You exclaimed excitedly. “I want princess stuff- wait, no! Zoo animals!” You say excitedly.
“Why not both?” He suggests.
“Yes please!” You replied, jumping up and down in excitement.
Lloyd smiles at your excitement. He made sure to make a list of what you want. He made a mental note to himself to buy your favorite foods, snacks, and juices to stock up in the kitchen. He also remembered to get adoption papers so you can officially become his daughter.
———
It’s been a few months since Lloyd found you all alone in your parents’ house when they left you all by yourself. It also didn’t take that long to get the adoption papers processed. You are now officially Lloyd’s daughter. It’s the best decision he’s made in a long time. He loves you like his own child. He also love the sound of your giggles echoing throughout his mansion when you’re playing. Lloyd sets aside time when he’s working to spend time with you.
As of right now, you’re playing in your play room. The TV was playing cartoons while you were sitting on the floor, playing with your toys and coloring in one of the many coloring books he bought you the other day. You looked up at the TV to see a commercial about the zoo playing. It excited you. When the commercial was over and went back to cartoons, you ditched your toys and coloring book and ran downstairs. You made sure to be careful as you were walking down the stairs so you didn’t get hurt. You then ran straight to the main room where Lloyd was working with his employees and Suzanne. You were so excited that you weren’t paying attention to where you were running and accidentally ran into Suzanne. You made a “oof” sound when your butt hit the floor. Suzanne looked down at you as you apologized to her. She was confused about why Lloyd had a child in his mansion.
“Daddy!” You stood up from the floor and ran over to him. “I has to tell you something!” You exclaimed.
Suzanne’s eyes went wide when you called Lloyd daddy.
“What’s up, sweetheart?” Lloyd asks, crouching down to your height.
“I see something on TV about zoo animals and I want to go!” You tell him.
“How about we go to the zoo this weekend?” He suggests. “We can make a day of it.” He says.
You squealed excitedly and hugged him.
“Daddy has to work now. Go play in your playroom and I’ll get you when it’s time for lunch.” He says.
“Ok, daddy.” You replied with a smile.
Lloyd gave you a kiss on your forehead before you went back upstairs to your playroom. Suzanne was in a state of confusion from what she just witnessed between you and Lloyd.
“What the hell just happened?” Suzanne asks Lloyd.
“What do you mean?” Lloyd asks.
“Why is there a little girl running around your mansion and calling you daddy?” She asks.
“Hey, I’m a father now, I have other responsibilities.” He tells her.
Suzanne furrows her eyebrows. A few months ago, Lloyd was hired to get information from your parents or “take them out”. That’s the same time he found you in the house all by yourself.
“You were hired to get information on those people, not take their kid.” She says.
“They left before I got there. What was I supposed to do? Leave her there all by herself?” He says.
Suzanne sighs and rolls her eyes at him. She knows he’s right. She hates it when he’s right.
“It’s weird to see you as a dad and nice.” Suzanne says.
“Get used to it, Suzanne, because you’re going to see that side of me all the time now.” Lloyd grins slightly. “Now, if you’ll excuse me, I’m going to spend time with my daughter.” He says.
Lloyd left the room and went upstairs to your playroom to spend time with you.
“Are you busy, princess?” Lloyd asks as he walks in your playroom.
“I not busy for you, daddy.” You say, smiling up at him.
Lloyd sat down on the floor where you’re coloring in your coloring book. He looked at the picture you’re coloring. You were in the process of coloring a tiger blue with red stripes. He didn’t want to correct you on what color tigers actually are. He actually thinks it’s cute. He watched you color for a little bit.
“Daddy, I’m hungry.” You say, putting down your crayons.
“It’s almost lunchtime. What would you like to eat for lunch?” He asks.
“Mac and Cheese!” You say.
Lloyd smiles at your response. You ate Mac and Cheese for lunch yesterday too and that’s what you want to eat today for lunch. He stood up and picked you up, carrying you to the kitchen. He sat you on a stool at the kitchen island so you can watch him make the Mac and Cheese.
“Can I have cookies?” You asked.
“Not before lunch.” Lloyd says.
“Can I have cookies after lunch?” You asked.
“Yes you can, sunshine.”
You know the rules. No sweeties before meals. You can only have sweets for dessert or a snack. You chose to have cookies as a dessert after lunch today.
When your Mac and Cheese was ready, Lloyd set you up at the table with your Mac and Cheese and your favorite juice. He sat at the table and ate his own lunch.
“What animals are you looking forward to seeing at the zoo this weekend?” Lloyd asks, making conversation with you.
“Big kitties!” You tell him excitedly.
Lloyd smiles at your response. He knows how much you love animals, especially cats.
“Can I have a kitty?” You asked curiously.
“I’ll think about it, pumpkin.” He says.
“Ok, daddy.” You smiled.
You and Lloyd maintained a conversation as you two ate lunch. After you guys ate lunch, Lloyd got you a few cookies. You chose chocolate chip cookies. You ended up getting chocolate on your face. Lloyd couldn’t help but smile at how cute you look with chocolate on your face. He then got a paper towel wet and cleaned your face. You scrunched up your face as he did so, making him chuckle. You yawned when Lloyd was cleaning up the mess of cookie crumbs on your side of the table.
“Are you tired, princess?” Lloyd asks.
You nodded and did grabby hands at him. Lloyd picked you up and took you upstairs to your bedroom. He gently laid you down on your bed and tucked you in for nap time.
“I’ll see you in a little bit, sweetheart.” Lloyd says, kissing your forehead.
“I love you, daddy.” You say tiredly.
“I love you too, sunshine.” He says softly.
Being your dad is something Lloyd loves and he wouldn’t change it for the world.

You stood there with your arms and legs crossed, leaning against a hay bale in the old barn. In front of you sat two men that you were less than pleased with, still unconscious thanks to the power of Bucky’s fist.
Bucky paced the floor in front of you, on the phone with an ally from the city: Stark. Apparently Lloyd had been causing him grief, as well, for some time now, and after you two were done with him, that’s where he’d be going to be dealt with. Some underground weapons bunker it seemed.
As he hung up the phone, Bucky placed his hands on his hips, stopped in front of you, and sighed. His face looked so tired, eyes sunken in, brows pulled together in distress. You were sure it mirrored your own.
You uncrossed your arms, taking a step towards him as he reached for your waist. Strands of hair that had grown a little too long flopped in front of his forehead and you pushed them back, running your fingers through his hair, giving Bucky the only taste of relaxation he was sure to get tonight. That was probably a good thing. Bucky had already lost his worn bar clothes in favor of a suit, ready for all the business that was sure to take up this night.
As you brushed a palm against his stubbly cheek, he leaned into your touch, a soft hum leaving his lips that was taken from his grasp as soon as it came when the sound of fabric rustling reached both of your ears. Lloyd was stirring awake.
Bucky stood up stark straight at that, but turned his head and kissed your palm before the tenderness left his eyes, replaced with a cold working demeanor.
He turned around, his bulky shoulders doing their best to shield you from Lloyd. You peeked around him anyway, though, catching the way Lloyd’s eyelashes fluttered open, his dark eyebrows raising in amusement when he registered that he was sitting in front of the mob boss he once called a friend. He let out a low whistle.
“Ah, Bucky! Bucky, Bucky, Bucky Barnes. What a pleasure to be dealt with personally. Heard you’ve got goons out the wazoo these days, which is surprising, considering how much I’ve enjoyed personally knocking them off lately.”
If he weren’t already stiff as a board, Bucky would’ve tensed at that. So many innocent people were dead at the hand of Lloyd, a series of killings in the city. Whether they were workers in the family or tangentially related, some of them unknowing of their connections until it was too late, Lloyd had shamelessly gone after them. A barista, a hairdresser, and several lower-level guards taken because they were accessible; something that Bucky worked hard to make sure you and he weren’t. But he hadn’t even thought about the friends of friends. Or just friends, including Curtis, that Lloyd could apparently so easily snatch.
Lloyd was shuffling in his seat, likely feeling around for one of the various knives he kept hidden on his body, but Bucky shook his head and shook off Lloyd’s previous attempt at a jab.
“You’re not gonna find any weapons on your person, Hansen. I strip searched you already. Personally. Checked all your old hiding places and some new ones. Don’t forget who taught you those hiding spots in the first place. I will applaud you for being creative with the new ones, though.”
Lloyd lifted his head, a smirk rising under his mustache, covering the small disappointment of being weaponless. He cocked his head to the side, giving a wink to Bucky.
“Ooooo, kinky. Didn’t know you were such a freak, Buck. But I guess that’s just the natural course when you date someone like Lil for so long.”
Bucky let a huff out of his nose. He was trying his best to remain stoic, but Lloyd knew just the right ways to get under his skin. You took a step forward and put a steadying hand on Bucky’s back. You didn’t want him to appear weak, but you knew you’d get nothing if this whole thing went south. It was all about getting Curtis back and keeping Lloyd in custody. Veering from the plan wasn’t worth the risk.
Lloyd noticed your action, the smirk on his face growing into a shit-eating smile.
“Well if it isn’t the sweet peach, here to calm down big, bad Bucky.”
Bucky’s fists clenched at that. He didn’t want you anywhere near Lloyd, but you insisted, and he was no one to tell you that you couldn’t do something.
Lloyd leaned towards you as much as the ropes around his chest would allow, as if he was about to tell a secret.
“No need to come to the rescue, cupcake. He ever tell you the things he’s done to rise to the top? This is nothing. I’m surprised he doesn’t have me hanging from the rafters by my toenails already.”
He was too sure of himself. He must’ve not known just how much Bucky had told you about himself in your time together, which pretty much aligned with all you had coaxed Steve and Sam to tell you previously. You knew a lot, but still not everything, especially about Lillian. But you trusted Bucky. That was what mattered.
You stayed silent while Lloyd pressed his shoulders back. He was attempting to steal the power back from Bucky through you, even in the evident power imbalance that was ongoing. His cockiness was filling the room, almost suffocating. Before you could make another movement, Steve, who had been standing up against the barn wall, took long strides towards you, grabbing your upper arm.
He led you out of the barn, into the cool night air. You looked up at him with slight confusion. Nothing you hadn’t expected had happened yet, but Steve knew Bucky even better than you, so he must’ve had good reason. His face, full of sadness that was only slightly mixed with his stoic work demeanor was matched with tight lips before he spoke, eyes boring urgently into yours.
“Bee, why don’t you go grab Cherry? Maybe she can help us. Bucky is about to do something I’m sure you’re not gonna want to watch, and I’m sure a calmer hand will be needed. Especially for Cole.”
Without a word, just a concerned expression, you simply nodded and headed back to the house.
You could tell Cherry was nervous with the way she bit her nails on the whole walk as you led her to the interrogation barn. You weren’t sure how much Bucky had done since you were gone, but you could tell it was probably a lot based off the bruises you could see forming on the mob boss’s hand when you walked in. Lloyd’s face had grown several fresh marks, as well, that would likely look much worse tomorrow, but the look on his face wouldn’t have given that away. He smiled through the grime that physically and metaphorically coated him.
You looked over at Cole who must’ve woken up not too long ago, a look near terror on his face. As gruesome as it was, even the right of one of your beloved cows giving birth hadn’t prepared you for the sight of pain inflicted on one man by another. If Lillian was as twisted as Bucky and Lloyd had made her seem, you were beyond scared for Curtis.
You shuffled further into the barn, taking a place by Steve, who stood calmly watching the scene. As soon as you had walked through the door, Bucky had turned to see you, his eyes wild, but they softened just the slightest bit as he made his way over to start discussing strategy.
“I can’t get jack shit with Lloyd here, fucking bastard. I know Cole will squeal as soon as he’s alone, though. We just need to-“
He was cut off by a sound that made you all turn your heads. The rafters of the barn creaked and down swung Decks, before landing onto the soft floor with a rustle of the thin smattering of hay over a bare dirt floor. The action caught the attention of the captives, too, as they watched her stalk over to them. Her shoulders were stiff, unyielding. You had only seen her like this once before. In a bar, when a guy she had gone on a couple of dates with spilled his drink on you and didn’t apologize. Except, compared to her demeanor now, that seemed like an anger level of two. This was an eleven.
Steve made a movement to go towards her, but Bucky barred him with an arm. That was a good idea. It was never smart for anyone to get in her way when she got like this, and that included Lloyd and Cole. They were in her way in the act of finding Curtis. She spoke in a low and even tone, but the urgency and spite in her voice was almost deafening.
“I’ll give you one more shot. I’m sick of watching this dance. Where. Is. Curtis?”
Cole stuttered, “I-I don’t know.”
Smack. In a flash, his head was tossed to the side, looking down towards the ground, red already filling his cheek. Beside you, Steve flinched, and based on the look that Bucky gave him, you could assume that was not something the second in command often did.
“Wrong answer.”
She took a step to her left, putting herself directly in front of Lloyd.
“Where?”
Her voice was alarmingly even to an outsider, but you could just barely pick up on the increasing annoyance. It was calm, yet rage-filled. Lloyd shook his head as his shoulders rose and fell with laughter. Bad idea. Your eyes darted down to see the way Decks’s fists tightened.
“Oh, come on, Pumpkin. You’re a smartie. Bet you’re a sweet peach just like your friend, too, but I’m not giving up whe-“
Punch. Right to the jaw. Good. You hated that he kept calling you that. It was a reminder of someone you no longer were. And a signal of just how far off the mark Lloyd was from gauging this situation.
It was almost in slow motion as Lloyd fell to the hay floor in a heap with a dull thump and a rustle. She had knocked him out cold.
Her eyes were fixed on Cole again.
“Is that motivation enough for you to help us now?”
Cole furiously nodded and looked back over his shoulder at Cherry. “I’ll talk to her.”
It was obviously so he could deal with the one furthest removed from knowing how to properly run business, but the request was turned down quickly as the tall blond beside you took a long stride towards the center of the barn and shook his head.
“No way. You lost your right to negotiate when you let Lloyd cross that line. You talk to me or you don’t have a tongue to talk anymore. Got it?”
Cole swallowed in nervousness. In the next second, Bucky caught your eye. With a jerk of his head, he wordlessly gestured for you to take Cherry out of the barn and you nodded, gently guiding her out as quickly as the two of you came in. Decks was already nearly out of sight, halfway across the field to the house.
Soon before the sunrise, you met Bucky out on the porch. He was on the steps below you, looking up and rubbing his hands up and down your sides as his crew loaded vehicles behind him. Your hands cradled his jaw as he explained the situation to you.
“Curtis isn’t being held too far from here. Apparently Lillian is still there, too. We’ll take care of it all.”
You nodded, your thumb brushing over the apple of his cheek. “Okay. Be careful. Save my cousin.”
Bucky nodded, looking deeply into your eyes and observing them grow hard, tough, fiery for a moment. “…and burn it all down. To the ground. I mean it. I’m sick of this shit and it’s gotta end. I don’t deserve this, Decks doesn’t, and Curtis and Cherry sure as hell don’t.”
Bucky smiled at your fierce statement, going on his toes for a quick kiss. “You got it, Honey. See you in a little.”
Bucky set fire to the farm with ease. Lillian was nothing when it came to the power he held. She met him at the front entrance to one of Cole’s farm property, her heels, inappropriate for the situation, rolling in the gravel.
“James. It’s nice to see you. Come to crawl back to me? It’s too bad that I’ve already got someone else.”
Bucky rolled his eyes. He just had to buy time while his men got in position and Steve got to Curtis.
“No, Lil. But Steve did always warn me that it seemed like you had a thing for inept, kicked puppies. I should’ve predicted Cole would become your next little plaything.”
She smirked with her red lips and shrugged. “Well, that could’ve been you, but it looks like you’ve turned into what you always dreaded. A pawn trying to take on the queen and king.”
Bucky chuckled. “So you’re calling yourself a queen now? And who’s the king? Cole? Lloyd? Both equally cringe-inducing options.”
Before Lillian or the guard behind her could make a move or say another word, a dart was shot into their necks and she tumbled into Bucky’s arms. More of Bucky’s guards emerged from the surrounding tall grass, taking care of the two of them and waiting for their next steps.
Meanwhile, you were trying to hold the house together, cooking breakfast for a worried Cherry and an angry Decks. Cherry was dealing, though, but Decks was a mess. But you knew a lot was happening for her. Betraying her trust and putting so much pressure on her wasn’t what you had wanted to do, but it was the only option you could see.
As your mind was wandering with menial tasks, though, you got a notification on your phone from the security sensors that Peter had installed, indicating something was coming up the driveway. You prayed it was Curtis and he was in one piece.
Based on Cherry first tossing a mug at the wall in surprise, which luckily wasn’t one of your nice ones, you weren’t sure, but then you heard Curtis’s voice and you finally felt yourself relax for the first time in a month.
As soon as Curtis entered, Decks gave him a big hug before he came and did the same to you.

“May I have the next dance?”
Your joyful laughter, shared with your dearest friend, Natasha, abruptly cuts off at the sound of his voice. You blink a few times, as if that will help make sense of the scene before you. The chatter of the ball fades away for the briefest moment.
Mr. Hansen stands stiffly, his spine straight as an arrow, chin held high. His expression holds his ever present disdain and aloofness, but his eyes… For the first time, you're sure you see a hint of uncertainty. It looks rather misplaced on him, especially since he's quite vocal of his own assuredness in practically everything, and yet, there it rests.
“You may,” you hear yourself respond after a pause.
Out of the corner of your eye, you see Natasha’s head turn to you in a snap, no doubt mirroring your internal shock at your reply, but your gaze remains held by the man before you. Mr. Hansen’s shoulders loosen imperceptibly and he nods, giving you a quick bow and waiting for your polite curtsy. He lingers, looking as if he wants to say more before he seems to think better of it and finally leaves.
As soon as she deems it alright, Natasha is dragging you behind her hastily, leading you to a more quiet corner in a different room, whirling around to face you with her eyebrows almost reaching her hairline.
“What have I done?” you whisper in a panic.
She raises one of her hands to cover her amused grin. A stifled giggle from her makes you let out a hysterical one of your own, and then the dam breaks. You're back to laughing together, though for an entirely different reason this time.
“Perhaps you will enjoy your time with him,” she suggests playfully.
You groan in protest through your smile. “But I don't want to enjoy my time with him.” With a dramatic sigh, you continue, “Though, I suppose it's better than allowing his misery to affect my mood.”
Natasha rolls her eyes. “I dare say he will not be the miserable one during that dance. He could surprise you, you know,” she counters, her expression pointed yet kind.
“Somehow I sincerely doubt that,” you reply haughtily, which has her giving you another pointed look that has you laughing. “Come,” you say, “let us find a better hiding spot. I want to keep out of Mr. Collins’ sight so I will not have to dance with him again.”
“That is fair,” Natasha concedes with a grin. “Hopefully we’ll find space near Mr. Wilson and he’ll finally ask me to dance.”
You do not have the heart to tell her that her confidence intimidates him, but you do still silently hope that he will ask anyway.
***
To her delight, Mr. Wilson does ask her to dance, just in time to line up with all the other couples before the music starts. You are among them with your sour-faced partner, Mr. Hansen. There are more than a few envious glares sent your way, though you cannot understand why.
Sure, Mr. Hansen is objectively a handsome man, and he's far richer than anyone else at this ball, but he's also blunt and rude and prideful. He leaves much to be desired with every unwanted conversation you have with him. It's as if he enjoys ruffling your feathers on purpose. Very unbecoming of a gentleman, in your opinion.
“Are you having a pleasant time this evening?” Mr. Hansen asks a minute into your dance, sudden and awkward.
“Quite,” you reply, attempting to maintain civility, but hoping to dissuade conversation.
Mr. Hansen’s brows furrow slightly at your curt response. “I’m glad the merriment is to your liking.”
“I should not think my opinion on the matter makes any difference for you,” you say, eyeing him curiously.
He clenches his jaw, looking away. “Right. Of course.”
The rest of the dance is spent in tense silence. No sooner than the music ends, you are curtsying and attempting to slip past him without having to speak another word. However, one of Mr. Hansen’s many admirers decides to take revenge on you for stealing a dance from him by purposely sticking out her foot to trip you. A gasp escapes you as you lose your balance, yet before you can embarrass yourself completely by falling to the floor, two strong hands catch you by the waist, spinning you around in their stronghold.
Your shocked gaze meets Mr. Hansen’s, his arm warm where it's wrapped around you, as is his other hand on your shoulder as he stabilizes you. His eyes, this time, are full of true concern, of worry. They trace every inch of your face, his so close to yours that you can feel the puffs of his breath across your chin.
“Are you hurt?” he inquires softly.
There's an odd, swirling feeling in your stomach, heat rushing up your neck to your cheeks at his proximity and the unusually gentle way he's handling you.
“I… I’m fine,” you stammer.
He cuts his eyes to whomever stands behind you, his face falling into a familiar and severe scowl. “I believe you owe her an apology for your childish actions.”
You finally manage to pull your stare from him to the accused person. The woman is flushed with shame at having been called out, stuttering through her, no doubt, half-hearted and insincere apology, her eyes flitting to the people watching the scene unfold.
“All is forgiven,” you rush, cutting her off. “Thank you.”
She shifts from foot to foot, pursing her lips unhappily, then finally curtsies and hurries off. Her absence draws your attention back to Mr. Hansen, who is still holding you securely and glaring at everyone else and their prying eyes, shifting them away from the two of you.
“Mr. Hansen,” you start, his head whipping back to you and his grip tightening. You exhale shakily. “I am grateful for your help, but I am sure I can stand on my own now.”
You see the exact second he realizes, his hold relaxing slowly, fingers peeling themselves off of your body as he takes a step back. For whatever reason, you feel wobbly on your feet at the loss of him. Mr. Hansen swallows as he rights his coat, bowing jerkily and turning on his heel to walk away. You watch his hand flex at his side, feeling the phantom touch of it on your shoulder.
Natasha enters your view, Mr. Wilson in tow. Her expression is full of questions, but you find yourself at a loss for any answers, your stomach and heart fluttering in what you can only assume is nerves at the near mishap.
That has to be why, surely.
…Right?
