tuesday!
hello again! another 2-weeker because I was in Washington (Da Capital) for a portion of last week for an academic conference and boy howdy did that sap my will to live/energy to post.
listening: I finished relistening to TANIS! season 5 felt completely unfamiliar so I either never actually listened to it or it was just that forgettable. which tbh, it was. very forgettable. definitely good background white noise but really nothing cooking in there. very clear to me that at the end there terry miles was way more interested in writing a book than an audio drama.
for the sake of completeness I also am relistening to the black tapes. definitely a more cohesive narrative happening there even though I know the "finale" is looming ahead. also has not generally aged super well, and some of the attempts at writing academic experts of things in make me laugh a lot, and the overlap in voice actors for side characters is also amusing. I think this universe of podcasts only work if TANIS is a fictional podcast in TBT and vice-versa but that's not news. also why did they make cuneiform on…parchment…as a plot point in s3…it's cuneiform…wouldn't it be on a slab of clay…anyways a reference to "current political discourse" in a s3 ep made me check the date and I didn't realize that this came out in 2020????? insane. way more recent than I thought (derogatory).
music-wise, saw Mahjong Crib live a few weeks ago at a local bar so I've been letting that run in the background. the bassist was incredibly high (as he should be) and very funny. the last song of the set he put the bass down and started going ham on cowbell. definitely in the family of freeform jazz which isn't normally my thing. still not sure this band is my thing, will probably not be purchasing this album for example.
reading: How Cheerleading Became So Acrobatic, Dangerous and Popular (David Gauvey Herbert): what it says on the tin. didn't realize how much of it came down to monopoly of an industry again. womp womp.
read these both on the plane back from the conference: By Proxy (Lise): mind the tags. really nailed a good dynamic between LWJ and JC imo. Wuxian The Ninth (spockandawe): was linked by the author in a server we're both in. the choice to just do the intro and finale is so incredibly valid. I should do that for my abhorsen/TLT crossover actually because I have the beginning done and definitely have a finale cooking in my head but writing all the bits in the middle seems exhausting and this has made it occur to me that I am allowed to just. skip all the shit in the middle. nothing is stopping me.
watching: fallow
playing: fallow
making: I have been speed knitting a pair of fingerless gloves for my mom! chose this pattern specifically to do them flat style because I was on the go and didn't want to think about using dpns, and I don't have the equipment for knitting in the round comfortably on that small of a scale.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
finished carving the block for my holiday cards BUT printing them has proved. challenging. I have what turns out to be kinda shitty water-based ink that is a real pain in the ass to do more than one print at a time with because it dries so fast. it's also applying and printing extremely unevenly and patchy, and while I don't actually mind the texture that adds, the fact that I have to wash off my block & roller every 2-3 prints or so is really stymying my speed. I am abusing my boyfriend's amazon prime to get an oil-based printmaking ink shipped to me so I have put further printing on hold til today when that allegedly arrives. I miss living in closer proximity to a more professional art supply store :-( I've printed about 15 or 20 now and depending on how much nicer the ink looks I may restart lol… either way next year I think I will get thicker paper to mail postcard-style instead of in an envelope to save on postage and work? we'll see. I'm hand delivering around half of my cards over the course of the holidays as it is to make it simpler and cut back on the amount of envelopes and postage I'll need anyways so it's really not TOO bad…
I kind of want to carve a return label stamp as well but obviously the scale/detail of that is more challenging. the easier move is to order return label stickers obviously so maybe I will design some of those, not for this year at this time scale but y'know. I was thinking of putting up my holiday card designs on redbubble or etsy or whatever as well just for funsies.
eating: made deb smittenkitchen's lentil soup with sausage, chard and garlic! really good! my sausages are generic beef from the farmers market so I feel like I lost a little flavor in there by not using some sort of sweet or spicy sausage but it's still tasty and filling. according to comments it freezes very well so I made the full recipe and will be freezing about four servings. I am rich in frozen soups rn.
I was GOING to make her crispy cauliflower and cabbage salad as well but the half a head of cabbage I had in the fridge tragically finally went bad. so instead I did an improvization at her cauliflower with dates and pistachios salad. I did not have dates or pistachios, subbed in craisins and almond slivers, lmfao, but still tasty and has the same structure. I also got some salmon burgers from kroger that have TWENTY FIVE GRAMS of protein each and were very tasty.
misc: feeling very [horror movie scare chord] from networking at that conference. my advisor's previous student who I did not overlap with but am familiar because I have continued his work casually commented that he applied to over Four Hundred Jobs before getting the one he currently has that he. does not even like that much. (I think? unclear. he is kind of a hater at heart in the funniest possible way, bless him.) so I have the fear of god in me a little bit but it's Fine, I'm doing what I'm "supposed" to be doing that a lot of other people are not by doing extensive networking and looking for summer internships for what will hopefully be the last summer of my PhD program.
I gotta start thinking about my yearly roundup too!!! I did a bad job of keeping a spreadsheet this year for this to note everything down in an easy format so maybe I will do that in retrospect as a time-filling activity in the next few weeks…

Hey Bebe! Dunno if you still check your tumblr but thought I'll try anyways. I remember you showed you bought FGO fan art books before on twitter (I think it was Tezca's, I don't recall if you bought others...), and was wondering if you got them through a proxy service? I think you're in the country same as me, and I was thinking of pre-ordering an FGO fanbook from C105, but I heard customs is a nightmare... So I was wondering which proxy service you used. Sorry if this question makes you uncomfortable! You can just ignore this question if it does.
hey sure I’ll be glad to answer it, I use two services:
AOCS - the easiest way for me, tora even has a page on advertising their service. As of now they waive domestic shipping fee to their warehouse so you could really save a lot. You can store your orders for up to 30 days, storage can be extended for another 30 days (total 60 days). The storage extension used to be free but starting Feb 2025 they’ll start charging for a fee. No details yet but it should be cheaper than paying for international shipping multiple times. Tho note that the max orders you can consolidate is up to 10 orders.
One thing I like ordering on tora is there’s an one click button for preorder/purchase, esp useful when you need to fight others for really popular books (when umino chica’s oberon book PO was up the server died LMAO), so you could skip the confirmation screen and place order right away and save time
〰️〰️〰️〰️
Tenso - sometimes the artist might opt for melonbooks instead so I will need to ship to tenso first before getting them shipped to msia. This is what I used when ordering the tez artbook. You get a local jp address then you can start shopping. Note that recently visa/mastercard are no longer accepted on tora/melonbooks so I was using amex (if you buy on tora using aocs you can use visa/master via paypal).
You gotta pay domestic shipping for each melon order so it’s best if you could add them to cart together, tho if it’s a really popular book sometimes I’ll just place that order first (just did it for takolegs 🤪). I’m preordering a few more of takolegs’ older books (it’s only open tomorrow) so gonna try out that grouping function later to see how that works.
There’s few options for melon shipping: the cheaper mail delivery メール便 or courier 宅配便, depending on your order size/weight sometimes you can only go with 宅配便.
Once your orders arrived at tenso they will notify you, even tho they say you could store for 60 days but if you’re like me wanting to consolidate several orders it’s effectively only 30 days since the first parcel arrival date. I send my aniplex+ and pixiv booth orders to tenso too. Oh yeah started in Aug 2024 tenso starts collecting 10% SST for msian orders even tho supposedly books should be tax free 🙃 I never had to pay taxes for my aocs book orders
〰️〰️〰️〰️
there’s buyee but I don’t use it coz 1) I can navigate jp websites, 2) I think you gotta wait for buyee agent to get back to you? and stuff so by the time they do the item might be sold out already so I trust myself to buy popular stuff way quicker
〰️〰️〰️〰️
I haven’t had too much issues with customs so far (been using aocs since 2022), but once they opened my aocs parcel for inspection and ripped some of the books plastic wrapping and didn’t place them back properly so one of my book cover got bent URGH. The other one time I got randomly inspected again and they charged me for inspection at some ministry (srsly?), so I paid poslaju to act as agent (rm60+) then the parcel is released and delivered to me eventually.
also if you’re from msia, I wouldn’t recommend buying r18 books in case your parcel does get opened for inspection it will get confiscated. Iinm aocs straight up rejects tora r18 orders for msian customers coz they had too much troubles with customs in the past.
Btw the eta date on tora/melon is just for reference, in rare cases it happened to me where the tora preorder is way beyond its original eta date (like a month?) so I ended up have to ship my pending orders on aocs first since storage limit is up
um wow this ended up way longer than I tot, thanks for reading up to this point and happy hunting for those doujins!

DUDELZ of the Damned | Rosie of the Jungle, Pt. 1
Tumblr media
HEY THERE PEOPLE OF TODAY AND ROBOTS OF TOMORROW! IT'S ME, CLARK!
A chill is in the air. You can feel it can't you? Perhaps you even recognize it. That same chill arrives every year right on the dot. With it comes a frightful howl in the moonlight, the only other sound to be heard. Otherwise there is a strange calmness settling around you, like the point of ease before the storm. By now the howling has stopped. It has been replaced by a different sound. Footsteps. Big, heavy, dragging, as if the figure didn't quite know how to use their legs. Perhaps it's a random passerby. Perhaps it's a rotting, frightful feature freshly risen from the grave. Perhaps it's some other, unspeakable horror waiting to pounce! Whatever it is, you're not waiting around to find out! Yet no matter how far you run, it can't be escaped. The chill in the air, the howling of the wind, the heavy footsteps, it all leads back to one thing: October is here! And with it comes the return of the DUDELZ of the Damned!
Yes weirdos, like last year, my approximation of Sketchtober has returned. I call it an proxy because there was no list of prompts. Nah, that'd be too limiting. This is yet another case where I compiled my own list of ideas, sketched them out, then used one color per picture. With all that said, let's see what spoopy scribblings await us today!
Legend says there is an ancient city hidden deep within the jungle of Africa. Many have ventured deep into the wilderness to find it, but seldom have come back successful. Or alive. This fabled city and all of its riches is at risk to becoming lost to time. Unless Rosie Stardust can find it first! Finding herself on Earth-618, the cosmic cutie becomes acquainted with a naval merchant named Paul D'Arnot, who tells her of the infamous civilization the locals call Opar. Never one to shy away from a challenge, or the chance to discover something new, the sentient spacial-anomaly tasks herself with finding the jungle's last hidden treasure. After she dresses for the trip, of course. Luckily this world is still stuck in the late 1800s, meaning she's sporting the trendiest dresses coming out of London. Luckier still, Rosie is able to befriend most creatures she encounters, so the local animals are more than willing to help. One baby baboon quickly grows to liking the Cosmic Cutie.
Needless to say, Rosie has an easier time traversing Africa than Jane Porter did. This sketch idea came about after my friend @burningthrucelluloid watched Tarzan earlier this year. He was providing commentary over on my Discord server and it got me to watch the movie again. I say, as if I needed an excuse. Disney's take on this classic story is easily one of my all-time favorite films. It features amazing animation, a sensational soundtrack, doesn't treat the gorillas like savage monsters, makes its lead hero more compelling than he's ever been, and their version of Jane Porter is hot. She's brainy, competent, managed to teach a man with no English how to speak it fluently in like a week, and voiced by Minnie Driver in her prime. You might think that's why I drew Rosie in this outfit, but really it was the realization that her curious nature and kind spirit would mean she'd get along swimmingly with the cosmic cutie. From there the image of Rosie in Jane's dress refused to leave my mind, so here we are. Actually this was my second attempt at putting this idea on paper. My first draft turned out great, save for Rosie's arms. She was meant to be holding the baboon in awe while the furry rascal looked on in confusion. Upon rewatching the movie it dawned on me that having the monkey draw the lady would be a funny reversal of roles. Either way, happy 25th anniversary to this fantastic film! I hope you all enjoy this sketch. And remember: be kind to baboons. They usually roll with backup.
BONUS QUESTION: Are you a fan of Disney's Tarzan?
MAY THE GLASSES BE WITH YOU!

ChengXian Kink Prompt - Pottery Class Meet Cute
Thank you to the Jiang Cheng's Disciples Discord server for this brainworm! Unfortunately I do not write Modern AU anything but I would read the hell out of this!
If anyone wants to take a shot at this, please tag me when you post!
Inspired by this image:
Tumblr media
Modern AU where WWX is in his phase of exploring all his kinks and getting into the BDSM community, but no one he knows irl is already in that community so he's fumbling along with it.
And he's bit of headcase and one friend invites him to a pottery thing and another acquaintance he's trying to use as a connection to the Scene has a similar name; both send text messages. WWX's brain scrambles the info.
WWX dressed up in a low cut neckline for the pottery class he doesn't realize is a pottery class because the few BDSM stuff he's been to is local small groups using other studios for their events because they can't afford a place themselves.
JC giving him a once over because WWX is looking very slutty, and just handing him an apron covered in dry clay like, "I guess you have somewhere to be after class?"
And JC's hands already have clay under the nails because he was setting up bins with the wet clay blocks, and when he hands over the apron, WWX already gets a load of callused, strong hands with sculpted forearms because JC has a thin t-shirt on, the cheap kind you can throw away that JL has colored all over.
WWX is never wrong okay? He totally meant to be here. And the instruction board does say choking!
WWX is there with three other people, two of which are wine aunts and the other is a young lady obviously there for the class learning and was dropped off by her girlfriend. The aunts keep flirting with JC and they take 30sec-1min to understand what he meant every time WWX makes a dirty innuendo.
JC has heard it all before...
Turns out JC is in fact in the underground BDSM scene~
He probably did it on purpose naming a class like that but didn't think anyone would be dumb enough to not read the class description.
Let JC be a gremlin!
Then this idiot shows up dressed like that and… Oh. Oh no. He likes the idiot He will tease the idiot by pretending not to get the innuendos & then he makes his own, face completely neutral
I love a WWX who dishes it out but can't take it, so he goes blisteringly hot and flubs a sexy response.
End of class, JC pulls up his phone with the calendar details of an actual intro to choking class and makes the comment that the low neckline isn't necessary for that class either, as it's just theory and proxies.
Someone with a better sense of humor than I please be inspired 🙏🙏

Why Speed and Location Matter in Proxy Performance by Proxy Lust, Inc.
When it comes to proxies, most people focus on IP type—residential, mobile, datacenter, or ISP. But two factors can make or break your proxy experience, regardless of the type: speed and location.
Whether you’re web scraping, managing multiple accounts, bypassing geo-restrictions, or automating social media, a fast proxy in the right location will determine your success.
In this blog post, Proxy Lust, Inc. breaks down why proxy speed and geographical location matter—and how to choose the right setup for your use case.
⚡ Speed: The Hidden Power Behind Every Proxy Task
What Affects Proxy Speed?
Network latency (distance from client to proxy and from proxy to target site)
Bandwidth capacity of the proxy server
Server load (shared vs. dedicated proxies)
Routing path from the proxy to the final destination
ISP or hosting infrastructure quality
If a proxy is slow, everything takes longer—from scraping 1,000 product listings to loading a social media feed or completing a transaction.
Why Speed Matters:
Use CaseWhy Speed is CriticalSneaker botsMilliseconds matter—slow proxies lose dropsWeb scrapingFaster requests = more data in less timeStreaming or geo-bypassReduced buffering and loading timesAd verificationView ads in real-time without delayRemote RDP/VPS tasksLess lag, smoother automation and monitoring
📍 Location: Where Your Proxy Lives Matters
The physical or network location of your proxy determines how websites perceive your traffic. A proxy in the wrong location may trigger:
Geo-blocks or region-specific CAPTCHAs
Incorrect content or pricing on localized sites
Higher latency when connecting to target servers
Why Proxy Location Matters:
Use CaseProxy Location NeededLocalized web scrapingCountry or city where data is targetedStreaming unblockingCountry where service is licensedeCommerce listing/postingRegion where platform accepts postsSEO testingLocation of the target audienceSocial media automationMatches the IP to the account’s geo history
🧠 Speed + Location: The Winning Combo
Choosing a proxy with great speed but in the wrong location won’t help. Likewise, a properly geolocated proxy that is overloaded or misconfigured is just as bad.
Key Tips:
Use geo-targeted residential or ISP proxies for location-sensitive tasks
Opt for dedicated or low-user-count proxies to maintain bandwidth
For latency-sensitive tasks (like botting or automation), pick proxies close to your target site’s data center
🚀 How Proxy Lust Optimizes Speed and Location
At Proxy Lust, Inc., our infrastructure is built to give you the best of both worlds:
✅ Dedicated ISP and mobile proxies with fast speeds and low latency
🌎 Coverage in key regions: U.S., UK, Canada, Germany, India, and more
💡 Custom geo-routing options available on request
📈 Load-balanced infrastructure to avoid bottlenecks
Whether you’re automating ad campaigns, scaling SEO tools, or running sneaker bots, our proxies are built for speed, stability, and stealth.
👉 Browse Proxy Plans by Speed & Location →
In 2025, raw IP type isn’t enough. To succeed in a competitive online environment, you need proxies that are fast, stable, and perfectly positioned.
Before buying your next proxy, ask yourself:
How close is this proxy to my target server?
Is this a shared or dedicated IP?
Will this IP appear natural in the context of my use case?
When speed and location align, your tools run better, your success rate improves, and your risk of bans drops dramatically.
Let Proxy Lust help you make the smart choice.

so the computer project of the last couple days has been finishing up one i started about a month ago, setting up a dedicated machine running windows 7 for the less than legal copy of specific software containing some specific technical manuals i occasionally need to reference. i've been running it on one of my regular machines and its awful, sloppy software. mostly utilizing node.js. dozens of background processes are required to make it run. 2000 dollar software built like a house of cards made from open source software. i guess it's the information contained therein, stored in a weird encrypted proprietary database format that makes it so expensive.
anyway it takes up way to much hard drive space, cpu and ram on an everyday general use computer for something that might get used a couple times a year, so i'm putting on it's own private machine.
the main user interface for this software is in the web browser. it requires internet explorer. it works ok in other browsers, but can get buggy sometimes. it requires the adobe reader plugin. the pdf readers built into most browsers wont work. also whatever webserver it's using seems to be hardcoded to only accept connections on the local machine. i already knew this, and accepted i'd probably just leave this computer on a shelf and bring it out and plug it in when i needed it.
then i remembered ip tunneling. that's what i needed the software from 2007 for. way back when i was still in high school i set up a proxy server to get around the blocks on the school computers. can't remember where i found the instructions, but it used copssh and putty. putty is still readily available and free, but not copssh, that's what i had to find a copy of. i basically did that again, now i can tunnel into that computer and access the webpage based ui for the software from any other computer in the house. im fairly certain this violates the license agreement, but i assume no more so than using a pirated copy lol. also if i ever manage to get the proprietary hardware that goes with the software, it would need to be physically connected to the real machine, but for just using it as a technical library, this is great.
as for getting rid of the software on the computer i already had it installed on, given how many services it installs and how much crap it drops all over the system, a full reinstall of windows 10 will probably be required, but that's a job for another day. for now i can just disable all it's services and let it sit dormant.

How Automated Web Scraping Powers Real-Time Market Intelligence in 2025
In 2025, the race for data-driven dominance has only accelerated. Businesses are no longer just making data-informed decisions—they’re expected to respond to market shifts in real time. The key to unlocking this agility lies in one technology: automated web scraping. From tracking competitor pricing and new product launches to monitoring regional customer sentiment, automated web scraping allows organizations to collect and analyze high-impact data continuously. It's not just about gathering more information; it's about getting the right insights faster and feeding them directly into strategies.
Tumblr media
What is Automated Web Scraping?
At its core, web scraping involves extracting data from websites. While manual scraping is possible, it's neither scalable nor consistent for modern enterprise needs. Automated web scraping takes it a step further by using bots, scripts, and intelligent systems to collect data from thousands of web pages simultaneously, without human intervention.
Unlike traditional data gathering, automation enables continuous, real-time access to dynamic web data. Whether it's product listings, stock prices, news articles, or social media trends, automated web scraping allows businesses to stay informed and agile.
Why Real-Time Market Intelligence Matters in 2025
The business landscape in 2025 is dynamic, decentralized, and deeply influenced by digital trends. As consumer behaviors evolve rapidly, staying updated with static reports or slow-moving data sources is no longer sufficient.
Key Reasons Real-Time Intelligence Is a Business Imperative:
Instant Reactions to Consumer Trends: Viral content, influencer campaigns, or trending hashtags can reshape demand within hours.
Hyper-competitive Pricing: E-commerce giants change prices by the hour—being reactive is no longer enough.
Supply Chain Volatility: Real-time monitoring of supplier availability, shipping conditions, and raw material costs is essential.
Localized Customer Preferences: Consumers in different geographies engage differently, tracking regional trends in real-time enables better personalization.
Key Use Cases of Automated Web Scraping for Market Intelligence
1. Competitor Monitoring
Businesses use automated scrapers to track competitor pricing, promotions, and inventory levels in real time. This helps them make dynamic pricing decisions and spot opportunities to win over customers.
2. Product Development Insights

Challenges in Real-Time Market Data Collection (And How Automation Solves Them)
Despite its power, real-time data scraping comes with technical and operational challenges. However, automation, with the right infrastructure, solves these issues efficiently:
Website Blocking & CAPTCHAs: Many websites implement anti-scraping mechanisms that detect and block bots. Automated tools use rotating IPs, proxy servers, and CAPTCHA solvers to bypass these restrictions ethically.
High Volume of Data: Collecting large datasets from thousands of sources is impractical manually. Automated scraping allows data collection at scale—scraping millions of pages without human effort.
Frequent Web Page Changes: Websites often change layouts, breaking scrapers. Advanced automation frameworks use AI-based parsers and fallback mechanisms to adapt and recover quickly.
Data Formatting and Clean-Up: Raw scraped data is usually unstructured. Automated systems use rule-based or AI-driven cleaning processes to deliver structured, ready-to-use data for analytics tools or dashboards.
Maintaining Compliance: Automation ensures that scraping practices align with privacy regulations (like GDPR) by excluding personal or sensitive data and respecting robots.txt protocols.
Technologies Driving Web Scraping in 2025
The evolution of scraping tech is driven by AI, cloud computing, and data engineering advancements.
AI-Powered Extraction Engines
Modern scrapers now use AI and NLP to not just extract text but understand its context, identifying product specifications, customer emotions, and competitive differentiators.
Headless Browsers & Smart Bots
Tools like headless Chrome replicate human behavior while browsing, making it difficult for sites to detect automation. Bots can now mimic mouse movement, scroll patterns, and form interactions.
Serverless & Scalable Architectures
Cloud-native scraping solutions use auto-scaling functions that grow with demand. Businesses can scrape 10,000 pages or 10 million, with no performance trade-off.

Efficient Naver Map Data Extraction for Business Listings
Tumblr media
Introduction
In today's competitive business landscape, having access to accurate and comprehensive business data is crucial for strategic decision-making and targeted marketing campaigns. Naver Map Data Extraction presents a valuable opportunity to gather insights about local businesses, consumer preferences, and market trends for companies looking to expand their operations or customer base in South Korea.
Understanding the Value of Naver Map Business Data
Naver is often called "South Korea's Google," dominating the local search market with over 70% market share. The platform's mapping service contains extensive information about businesses across South Korea, including contact details, operating hours, customer reviews, and location data. Naver Map Business Data provides international and local businesses rich insights to inform market entry strategies, competitive analysis, and targeted outreach campaigns.
However, manually collecting this information would be prohibitively time-consuming and inefficient. This is where strategic Business Listings Scraping comes into play, allowing organizations to collect and analyze business information at scale systematically.
The Challenges of Accessing Naver Map Data
Unlike some other platforms, Naver presents unique challenges for data collection:
Language barriers: Naver's interface and content are primarily Korean, creating obstacles for international businesses.
Complex website structure: Naver's dynamic content loading makes straightforward scraping difficult.
Strict rate limiting: Aggressive anti-scraping measures can block IP addresses that require too many requests.
CAPTCHA systems: Automated verification challenges to prevent bot activity.
Terms of service considerations: Understanding the Legal Ways To Scrape Data From Naver Map is essential.
Ethical and Legal Considerations
Before diving into the technical aspects of Naver Map API Scraping, it's crucial to understand the legal and ethical framework. While data on the web is publicly accessible, how you access it matters from legal and ethical perspectives.
To Scrape Naver Map Data Without Violating Terms Of Service, consider these principles:
Review Naver's terms of service and robots.txt file to understand access restrictions.
Implement respectful scraping practices with reasonable request rates.
Consider using official APIs where available.
Store only the data you need and ensure compliance with privacy regulations, such as GDPR and Korea's Personal Information Protection Act.
Use the data for legitimate business purposes without attempting to replicate Naver's services.
Effective Methods For Scraping Naver Map Business Data
There are several approaches to gathering business listing data from Naver Maps, each with advantages and limitations.
Here are the most practical methods:
1. Official Naver Maps API
Naver provides official APIs that allow developers to access map data programmatically. While these APIs have usage limitations and costs, they represent the most straightforward and compliant Naver Map Business Data Extraction method.
The official API offers:
Geocoding and reverse geocoding capabilities.
Local search functionality.
Directions and routing services.
Address verification features.
Using the official API requires registering a developer account and adhering to Naver's usage quotas and pricing structure. However, it provides reliable, sanctioned access to the data without risking account blocks or legal issues.
2. Web Scraping Solutions
When API limitations prove too restrictive for your business needs, web scraping becomes a viable alternative. Naver Map Scraping Tools range from simple script-based solutions to sophisticated frameworks that can handle dynamic content and bypass basic anti-scraping measures.
Key components of an effective scraping solution include:
Proxy RotationRotating between multiple proxy servers is essential to prevent IP bans when accessing large volumes of data. This spreads requests across different IP addresses, making the scraping activity appear more like regular user traffic than automated collection.Commercial proxy services offer:1. Residential proxies that use real devices and ISPs.2. Datacenter proxies that provide cost-effective rotation options.3. Geographically targeted proxies that can access region-specific content.
Request Throttling Implementing delays between requests helps mimic human browsing patterns and reduces server load. Adaptive throttling that adjusts based on server response times can optimize the balance between collection speed and avoiding detection.
Browser Automation Tools like Selenium and Playwright can control real browsers to render JavaScript-heavy pages and interact with elements just as a human user would. This approach is efficient for navigating Naver's dynamic content loading system.
3. Specialized Web Scraping API Services
For businesses lacking technical resources to build and maintain scraping infrastructure, Web Scraping API offers a middle-ground solution. These services handle the complexities of proxy rotation, browser rendering, and CAPTCHA solving while providing a simple API interface to request data.
Benefits of using specialized scraping APIs include:
Reduced development and maintenance overhead.
Built-in compliance with best practices.
Scalable infrastructure that adapts to project needs.
Regular updates to counter anti-scraping measures.
Structuring Your Naver Map Data Collection Process
Regardless of the method chosen, a systematic approach to Naver Map Data Extraction will yield the best results. Here's a framework to guide your collection process:
1. Define Clear Data Requirements
Before beginning any extraction project, clearly define what specific business data points you need and why.
This might include:
Business names and categories.
Physical addresses and contact information.
Operating hours and service offerings.
Customer ratings and review content.
Geographic coordinates for spatial analysis.
Precise requirements prevent scope creep and ensure you collect only what's necessary for your business objectives.
2. Develop a Staged Collection Strategy
Rather than attempting to gather all data at once, consider a multi-stage approach:
Initial broad collection of business identifiers and basic information.
Categorization and prioritization of listings based on business relevance.
Detailed collection focusing on high-priority targets.
Periodic updates to maintain data freshness.
This approach optimizes resource usage and allows for refinement of collection parameters based on initial results.
3. Implement Data Validation and Cleaning
Raw data from Naver Maps often requires preprocessing before it becomes business-ready.
Common data quality issues include:
Inconsistent formatting of addresses and phone numbers.
Mixed language entries (Korean and English).
Duplicate listings with slight variations.
Outdated or incomplete information.
Implementing automated validation rules and manual spot-checking ensures the data meets quality standards before analysis or integration with business systems.
Specialized Use Cases for Naver Product Data Scraping
Beyond basic business information, Naver's ecosystem includes product listings and pricing data that can provide valuable competitive intelligence.
Naver Product Data Scraping enables businesses to:
Monitor competitor pricing strategies.
Identify emerging product trends.
Analyze consumer preferences through review sentiment.
Track promotional activities across the Korean market.
This specialized data collection requires targeted approaches that navigate Naver's shopping sections and product detail pages, often necessitating more sophisticated parsing logic than standard business listings.
Data Analysis and Utilization
The actual value of Naver Map Business Data emerges during analysis and application. Consider these strategic applications:
Market Penetration AnalysisBy mapping collected business density data, companies can identify underserved areas or regions with high competitive saturation. This spatial analysis helps optimize expansion strategies and resource allocation.
Competitive BenchmarkingAggregated ratings and review data provide insights into competitor performance and customer satisfaction. This benchmarking helps identify service gaps and opportunities for differentiation.
Lead Generation and OutreachFiltered business contact information enables targeted B2B marketing campaigns, partnership initiatives, and sales outreach programs tailored to specific business categories or regions.

ip address data
Understanding Your Visitors And Users Starts With Knowing Where They Come From
With the rise of remote access, global communication, and digital security threats, identifying an IP address and converting that IP to location has become essential for businesses of all sizes. Whether it's for content personalization, security enforcement, fraud prevention, or simply analytics, IP geolocation bridges the gap between virtual activity and real-world presence. Every time someone asks, "what is my IP?", they’re initiating the first step toward identifying a digital footprint, which is at the core of services like iplocate.io, a platform that provides fast, accurate IP geolocation and threat data APIs for developers, cybersecurity experts, and online businesses.
An IP address, short for Internet Protocol address, is a unique identifier assigned to every device connected to the internet. This string of numbers helps route internet traffic between devices and servers. But beyond just connectivity, it holds a wealth of IP address data that reveals insights such as the country, city, time zone, and even the internet service provider behind the connection. Businesses looking to tailor user experiences can use IP info to display the correct language, currency, or regional content, making the digital experience more intuitive and personal. With tools like iplocate.io, companies no longer have to rely on outdated or inaccurate data. Instead, they gain access to real-time, precise IP to location data that fuels everything from targeted marketing to compliance with local laws.
For cybersecurity professionals, IP geolocation is not just about convenience—it’s a necessity. Threat intelligence platforms depend on rich IP info to identify malicious users, unusual access patterns, and geographies linked to known cyberattacks. A sudden login from an unexpected country can trigger an alert, thanks to IP geolocation APIs that instantly flag suspicious activity. This kind of proactive protection is vital in a world where digital threats are evolving by the second. With iplocate.io, developers can integrate seamless threat detection powered by geolocation, enabling systems to react quickly and accurately to potential risks.
But the use cases don’t stop there. Financial institutions and eCommerce platforms also rely heavily on IP address data to detect fraudulent transactions. If a payment is being processed in one country, but the cardholder’s typical activity is from another, the system can use IP to location data to flag or block the transaction, preventing financial loss. Ad networks use IP geolocation to ensure region-specific compliance and to serve ads that resonate with local audiences. Even government agencies and law enforcement utilize IP info to trace cybercrime and enforce regulations. The simplicity of asking “what is my IP” has now evolved into a robust digital intelligence process that businesses use every day.
Accurate and real-time IP geolocation is not just about seeing where users are—it’s about enabling better decisions, faster responses, and deeper insights. Tools like iplocate.io allow companies to look beyond the basic IP number and dive into metadata such as connection type, device type, organization, proxy usage, and threat indicators. This depth of IP address data transforms raw information into actionable intelligence. Whether it’s identifying trends in user traffic, blocking bots, or securing access to sensitive data, reliable IP data is a fundamental asset.
One of the challenges developers face is integrating this functionality smoothly into their applications or services. That's where the developer-friendly API from iplocate.io shines. With easy documentation, scalable endpoints, and blazing-fast response times, businesses can start using IP geolocation in minutes. The ability to handle millions of requests per day with high uptime and low latency makes iplocate.io not just a data provider but a performance partner. From SaaS platforms to mobile apps, having access to real-time IP to location data empowers teams to build smarter, safer digital experiences.
It’s also important to note the role of privacy and transparency when working with IP info. Ethical geolocation services like iplocate.io are committed to respecting user privacy while still delivering accurate insights. By leveraging publicly available data and adhering to data protection laws, iplocate.io helps businesses maintain compliance while still accessing valuable intelligence. In an era where trust is everything, being transparent about how IP address data is used helps organizations build confidence with users and clients.
For those simply curious or troubleshooting issues, checking “what is my IP” remains one of the most common queries on the internet. It’s a basic but essential tool for diagnosing connectivity problems, verifying VPN use, or

Relationship between proxy servers and global IP addresses
What is IP address
An Internet Protocol (IP) address is a unique identification number assigned to each device connected to the Internet. An IP address is defined as a numeric label assigned to a device that uses the Internet to communicate. Computers communicating over the Internet or a local network use IP addresses to share information to a specific location. What was the original purpose of IP addresses? Every network system communicates with different electronic devices, but it can't work properly if the destination is not clearly specified.
If electronic device A wants to send a request to electronic device B, it must rely on information that is unique to B. The unique information in the networked world is an IP address, without which a networked system would not be possible.
IP addresses are numeric, usually consisting of four pairs of numbers from 0 to 255. Internet sites also use IP addresses, but the sites use the DNS system to translate them into domains.
Types of IP addresses
IP addresses include global IP addresses and private IP addresses, but these two types of IP addresses have different uses. Global IP addresses are used for the Internet, while dedicated IP addresses are used for internal networks.
Dedicated IP addresses can be created freely, as long as they follow a set of rules, whereas global IP addresses cannot be created freely.
Normally, the global IP address is constant, but the IP address may change if the modem is rebooted. However, users are unlikely to notice a change in the IP address because the provider automatically adjusts the IP address.
Benefits of using a proxy server global IP address
What are the benefits of using a proxy server global IP address? Using a proxy server's global IP address allows you to hide your identity.
A knowledgeable web server administrator can easily obtain a visitor's global IP address, but can also block the global IP address from being obtained.
The web server administrator can rely on the visitor's global IP address to determine the visitor's location to some extent. If the visitors to a website are competitors, what might the website administrator do?
A nervous website administrator may block global IP addresses related to these competitors. After blocking, competitors will be unable to access the website. However, the global IP address of the proxy server will not be able to locate you. You can then bypass the restriction by using an IP proxy and watch the content you want to see freely. This is why IP proxies are an effective tool for data collection and marketing analysis. By using multiple IP addresses to collect data, more accurate market research can be conducted.
An IP proxy can be used to hide a user's actual IP address. This prevents third parties from tracking your activities on the network. Privacy is a huge concern for many people, and understandably so. However, almost everything you do online can be tracked, and often is. Many companies track your online activity in order to conduct consumer research so that they can learn more about the browsing habits of their consumers in order to develop better marketing programs. If you don't want your personal information to be researched or misused, you'll want to know how to hide your IP address. This prevents companies from tracking your browsing habits and prevents ad networks from discovering every product you are interested in. The websites you visit also have the legal right to collect data about your browsing activity in relation to that site. Again, this is often used for market research data, but if you want your digital footprint to remain private, you will need to hide the IP address.
However, the use of IP proxies requires compliance with legal and regulatory requirements. The unauthorised use of another person's IP address or its use for unauthorised purposes is prohibited. When used properly, IP Proxy can be a powerful tool for a convenient and secure online life.
