Preparing myself that slow-burn storylines often involve periods of separation. In season 3, this separation may not be physical but rather a mental one between Carmy and Syd. As suggested by the song at the end, they may feel like they're mentally half a world away from each other.

In a brilliant meta written by @bioloyg , it is suggested that the walk-in scene represents Carmy's mind. This can be observed during the lock-in, where he is unable to hear or reach Sydney. The show often portrays Sydney as Carmy's focus, someone he not only wants to hear but needs to hear, as evidenced by him hearing her voice during his panic attack earlier in the day. As Carmy experiences the panic attack in the walk-in, memories flood his mind, and he is unable to hear or reach Sydney.

In the song, when it says, "Go it alone," Sydney is shown smiling after her dad walks away. This foreshadows that Sydney will pursue her dreams independently while experiencing the same sense of anxiety that Carmy felt when he received his star. Sydney may also struggle with self-care while striving for success, we hear that she only ate a left twix for dinner and she is sick after dinner service. She tells her dad that pressure is her friend, so Syd might face similar challenges as Carmy when he was in her position. While Carmy battles becoming like his mother or his EMP boss.

Carmy said he can't do it without her, wouldn't even want to and that leaves them in his relationship where they need each other but are so far away in season 3.

And I'm looking forward to this angst if the prediction is correct.

Tack, tack, tack, tack… 

Frisk sucked in a weary breath and reached for her mug. The porcelain was cold against her chapped lips, the murky coffee inside disgustingly lukewarm on her tongue, but she swallowed it anyway. Her eyes burned. The words on her screen blurred beneath her and it took everything in her to stifle the yawn threatening to come over her. 

Crickets chirping. The soft sigh of the HVAC breathing cool air through the grates in the floor. The hum of her computer screen. Lines of dotted color swimming in and out. 

Tack, tack, tack, tack, tack… 

Unfortunately, one could believe that her loneliness and her noble effort to see the best in people, is what led her to her brutal end. ｜

She rubbed her eyes, the sounds of the night buzzing in her aching head. A dark kaleidoscope of color swarmed the back of her eyelids and sent her briefly to another world connected only by scarlet string and madness. 

Frisk sucked in a long breath she refused to admit was a yawn, the incessant noise going silent as her breathing roared in her ears. 

A low moan escaped her as she came too and was greeted with true silence. She mused that the AC must have switched off for a moment. That was fine, she told herself. It’d been getting pretty cold. Even now, she could feel the prickles of goosebumps creeping on her arms and down the back of her neck. 

The words on her computer screen swam across from her. I need to step away. Look over my notes, the thought sent her careening to her feet. 

Each step she took sent pins and needles through her and she seethed through her teeth. How long had she been sitting there? She counted the hours to herself. She’d been writing ever since she’d gotten home from her meeting with the editor in chief so that meant… six hours straight? Was that right? That couldn’t be right. Ibrahim would’ve stopped her… unless he’d also been writing and in that case… 

Frisk smirked at the realization that they must have both been in a flow state. Who were either of them to wreck each other’s process?

“I’m almost done,” she said aloud as if trying to ward off the uncanny silence of the witching hour and give herself some company. 

 

The only other company she had were the pictures of Sarah’s carcass staring at her from her cork board. The acknowledgment of those dead, brown eyes sent Frisk searching the floor for lent out of some desperate attempt at avoiding them, if only briefly.

When the floor truly had nothing of substance to offer her, she was dragged by the chin back to that board. How dare she look away. Look upon me and see how I’ve suffered, whispered her own, morbid guilt. 

“Look at me!” 

She blinked hard at the invasive memory of her own small voice. The photos were blurry in the dark, unfocused in the ghoulish blue glare of her distant computer. She blinked again as if that would fix them. 

It seemed to work, though, and Sarah gazed back at her when she opened her eyes. Only… her eyes were larger. Lashes thicker… skin shades darker if not a tad ashy from the cool embrace of death. Lips plumper. Bruised.   

Familiar. 

Frisk furrowed her brow and sucked in a breath of stale air. Her feet swayed towards the board, pins and needles biting up her leg. She plucked the photo off the wall, a distant clack of the thumb tack falling to the floor. 

Pale, dead skin. Small, glazed eyes, angular, hollow cheeks. Nothing about the photo or about Sarah had changed. I need to call it a night. 

The crickets certainly had.

That Romitri fight was so emotionally taxing, he didn't want to hurt her, so he technically chose Rose over duty, but that's the part that's broke him

How did we go from Rose being so happy last episode to this crap, she's tired of everyone's bs and just wants to get away from it and I don't blame her one bit

Her character is getting more concrete in these flashbacks. Her choosing to sit on her own rather than with Steve to avoid his friends, being known as one of the shy ones, her berating herself over thinking anyone would even be interested... its all so heartbreaking. I feel like loneliness is such a big theme in this chapter, she was lonely at school and she's lonely present day, thinking everyone has essentially been having a laugh at her expense.

Especially Steve, so he was there for the falling out that she describes as heartbreak, helped her through it and cant not have known there were bigger feelings there for Eddie, whatever happened. Yet Steve still chose to get his 'selfish needs' met with him. Thing is, his needs being met wasnt her issue at all, just who he chose to meet them with. The way Steve thinks about this kinda makes me think it might just be hooking up, no big feelings, and i cant decide which would be worse, him choosing someone who hurt her just for the hell of it or that they do genuinely like eachother. But then if they do really like eachother, where does that leave R? I need so much more information! The flashback parts seem to say Eddie was into her just as much as she was him, which even Steve saw! (Plus Eddie's internal conflict over selling, not wanting to become his father - so sad 😢) I wonder how a conversation went between Eddie and Steve after last chapter. I kinda want them to call their thing off, but what if they are in love and stuff? I mean, I dont think they are..

And then R and Eddie's interaction present day, she thinks hes a liar but whhyy? What did you lie about Eddie?! I mean, he says nothing.. so who's in the wrong here? And he seems just as angry at her.. I need more info before i pick a side 🤣 and then her feeling so alone, not wanting to bother anyone and feeling so isolated from all her friends 💔 Plus still having to go into work because bills and just the stress that situation will have caused her, felt it big time. I hope Will in particular doesn't let her keep feeling that way.

Then both boys at the coffe shop and thier totally different approaches was interesting. Steve getting straight in her face didn't do much good, and Eddie's peace offering.. yea it was sweet, but pal, it's going to need much more than a coffee. Loved this as always, got me in all the feels 🖤🖤

the leona and diana cinematic... just the sheer Longing and how it’s clear both of them want things to be different. also the parts with leona and ahri in a new dawn, how leona is so brave and protective. i also love awaken and warriors. that one shot of camille racing towards jhin as he bows is amazing.

so many good songs so i’ll pick a variety! nami’s theme, light and shadow, dark cosmic jhin theme, aphelios theme, villain, the mako remix of piercing light.

💔 tell us about one of your LEAST favorite characters and why you dislike them.

personally i have the fight reflex towards thresh and hecarim, because i’m really attached to senna and kalista and also just... they are so shockingly cruel in general. thresh tormenting so many people for so long. hecarim murdering someone who trusted him, someone who was just trying to do the right thing. i like a compellng villain every now and then, i’m fond of aatrox for an example from the same source, but... i just can’t seem to feel any positive emotion toward either of those two.

🏳‍🌈 do you have any headcanons (lgbt, race, neuro, etc) that are important to you?

i wish someone would outright say leona is wlw. that’s... ambiguously canon but my specific headcanon/me being a kinnie for leona is that she’s a butch nonbinary lesbian. they also should confirm taliyah is trans. possibly xin zhao is intentionally implied mlm especially in “what once sailed free” but i’m not sure. for less heavily implied, i love nonbinary wlw soraka, trans man braum, and nonbinary bard.

for neurodivergent stuff... honestly kindred is a copey kin for me, i relate to them because i have dependent personality disorder and have (had to varying degrees of intensity over time) dissociative traits; their backstory of intense loneliness and being created from the pain of one being gets to me; i still get teary thinking about their conversations in the event earlier this year. i also view older lore soraka (where she was attacked by warwick) as having ptsd, this is important to me. i like that version of her story better- the way she holds onto her compassion and desire to help people even after such a betrayal is very moving.

💎 are there any fun facts or trivia that you would like to share?

YES i could ramble so much but here’s some interesting things about the star guardian/magical girl setting!

zoe’s eye mark, starry/diamond-y actually most closely resembles soraka’s! neeko also has unusual eye marks, but they’re more rounded. these three are the only ones to have different pupils/etc. soraka also intentionally has an eight point star, and the rest of her team has 4 point stars. neeko does have small eight point stars in part of her outfit, but the most prominent one is only eight point in her prestige edition, where she is more powerful/reached more of her potential. Much to think about

another thing is that poppy is the only star guardian to have no familiar shown so far! lux’s familiar has been shown in art but is commonly in staff form, and the others have one or more familiars (multiple familiars = more of a wild card star guardian, such as jinx and syndra) shown, but poppy’s familiar is always just the hammer. some speculate that the pig star guardian little legend might be her familiar, but i’m more inclined/hopeful to believe that one is a familiar for a sejuani star guardian skin in the future.

💢 what do you NOT like about your hyperfixation? is there something you would want to change about it?

players go afk/get toxic too often, it’s frustrating. also i keep hoping for better, more widely diverse representation. i think there’s slow progress i just... get tired of waiting and want more than the crumbs of lgbt representation. + specific things like how when they replaced xin zhao’s old splash art he was shown with significantly paler skin, and the swain rework handled his physical disability uncomfortably, like... idk. it rubs me the wrong way that you can’t really tell in game anymore, especially with what they said about it. i still love the game overall, and want them to keep moving in the right direction and change existing harmful stuff.
