Side note: I know Matsumoto said that he gave the number 1 suit the jacket to make it heavier on top and contrast the number 10 suit, however I wonder if there's an in universe explanation for the jacket? I just think it'd be really funny if when narumi was getting the suit he just really wanted the dramatic off the shoulders jacket (I'm not complaining either way it's a solid look)

I like the silly goofy but also the definite insecurity at losing his spot in the first division is being experienced at this point, he brushes it off but I have no doubt it's been a lifetime fear for him and part of his motivation to keep improving (that and the fact that he's always got something to prove to anyone he makes eye contact with)

Omg the solid grouch on his face is wonderful.

The comparison between narumi and isao is so nice to be brought up by hasegawa, especially because besides us the audience, no one else knows that narumi is doing exactly what isao did when narumi was improving. I love the dynamic between isao and narumi that we got to see in the b side even more so after rereading the manga again and being able to make the comparisons to how narumi treats kikoru, especially after (spoilers) a certain man's death. It's practically the exact same only narumi occasionally throws in begging for money because he is a loser (affectionate) at heart.

The impulse spending is a mood tho

UGH and the reassurance from hasegawa and platoon leaders that he is in fact staying right where he is as captain of the first. Even though he brushes it off the people closest to him know him well enough to see that he needs the occasional reminder that he won't be so easily forgotten.

This whole interaction gave me all the feelings and I'm incoherent about it, don't mind me

Another side note: it might be because I've been listening to the tristamp ost but narumi honestly reminds me of wolfwood from trigun.

Hear me out: both are orphans that get brought into some kind of organization when young and trained to be fighters, they've both got some kind of enhancement that was directly caused by said organization, both have a secret sweet spot for kids that's hidden behind a gruff and uncaring attitude, both have an insane self imposed duty of doing whatever they can to protect the people they care about but refuse to admit it, and finally they're most popular ship is with the devious sunshine character.

If you haven't watched trigun I highly recommend, it'll break you but in a good way :D

went back to snipers because i was having a lot of fun with the lr 7.62 and im actually getting better at quick scoping. when i got it diamond almost all my lims were headshots and multis like im so proud of me but all that work i put in leveling up the past few days literally what did i say. my friend played zomboids probably for like 2hrs if that n caught back up to me so the rush to max prestige continues.
