Hello lovely people.

Here is my semi-annual check in post. I hope you are all well. I think of you here in Tumblr-land all the time.

As always, hope springs eternal that I can at some point find the energy/drive to resume writing. But at this point, it's been 5 years and I haven't written anything of consequence (except a chapter of an existing story) and I am woefully out of practice. It's almost like starting over and I don't know if I can face that right now.

I think a reinvention of Losille is in order if I officially come back. I'm trying hard to work-to-rule this year (read: not doing The Most because I'm not getting paid for The Most, or the headaches and stress The Most creates), so maybe I'll start feeling better. *shrugs*

Anyway, as always, I <3 you all and only wish the best for you while I am away and sporadically posting.

Tom returns home grouchy and exhausted from a cramped flight after four months away for work. Unfortunately, there’s already someone sleeping in his bed.

Tom unfolded himself from the black chauffeured car and lifted his hands over his head in a stretch that tugged the hem of his shirt away from his jeans. The stiff muscles in his shoulders and lower back groaned the further he moved, joints popping to illustrate his advancing age and how airplane seats weren’t getting any more comfortable, even in first class—especially after spending the better portion of a day travelling in one. However, he figured, the sore body was more than worth it so long as he was home for the foreseeable future.

Blowing a stream of hot air into the chilly spring night, he peered up at the two-story building to reacquaint himself with his surroundings. He’d been away for so long he barely recognized the slightly peeling exterior paint or the off-color shutters he never bothered to have repainted. What was the use in changing their hideous shit-brown hue, anyway, when he was hardly around long enough to enjoy them? The thought that he might actually have time to do something about them this time around made him sigh.

“Your bags, sir,” said a voice, demanding but professional, at his elbow.

Tom blinked hard at the little man who had interrupted his contemplation. The driver had met him at Heathrow with an iPad and his surname scrawled on the screen. Well, his decoy surname—the name he used when he didn’t want people to know where he was going to be. The name Luke made him use after that time at the airport where a crowd had gathered around and followed him to the car. Even though the only reason he needed a driver in the first place was due to the two girls before that who stalked him home on the Tube. Life seemed so convoluted these days, considering the process he had to endure just to secure his sodding bags at the luggage reclaim, only to go home to a place he barely recognized in the pale moonlight.

Tom bit his lip and balled his fists, trimmed nails biting into his palm. “Oh, yes, I’ll just take them up.”

“You’re certain, sir?”

Tom nodded and dug into his jeans pocket for the fiver he’d stuffed there earlier. After exchanging the banknote for his luggage and guitar, he waited for the man to return to his vehicle and drive away before climbing the front steps. He produced his key ring from the messenger bag on his shoulder and let himself inside the foyer to dark, comforting silence. His silence.

Yuletide, más conocido como Yule (yul), es el último festival de fuego de la rueda del año. Está basada en la festividad nórdica del mismo nombre y se celebra durante el solsticio de invierno, el 21 de diciembre. Se celebra la noche más larga del año en oposición a Litha, que se celebra el día más largo. Tras el solsticio de invierno, los días se alargan y las noches se acortan. La mitad oscura del año termina para dar paso a la mitad luminosa. Algunas tradiciones lo celebran durante 3 días o hasta final de año.

En la Escandinavia precristiana, se celebraba el Banquete de Juul y duraba 12 días. Se celebraba el renacimiento del sol, y de aquí viene la costumbre del tronco de Yule, que está hecho tradicionalmente de fresno. Se dice que nunca debe ser comprado, sino cosechado de la tierra del propietario o regalado. Antes de quemarlo, se decora con acebo y otras plantas, salpicado con sidra y espolvoreado con harina o cenizas del tronco previo. Los practicantes modernos usan el tronco para sujetar 3 velas, que pueden ser blanca, dorada y plateada, roja y verde, o la representación de deidades; la base del tronco se decora con hiedra, acebo, bayas y otros elementos estacionales.

Otras tradiciones incluían decorar el hogar con acebo y hiedra para apaciguar a los duendes y crear una atmósfera acogedora para que ellos también celebrasen.

Según la mitología celta se da una batalla entre el Rey Roble y el Rey Acebo durante el solsticio de invierno y el de verano. El rey Acebo reina sobre la parte oscura del año y el Roble sobre la clara. A lo largo de las celebraciones de Yule se puede presenciar la recreación de este duelo entre los aspectos del dios. El rey Roble vence al rey Acebo y asciende al trono hasta el retorno de éste en el solsticio de verano.

En la Antigua Roma, el festival de Saturnalia era el pilar de las celebraciones de invierno. Se honraba al dios de la agricultura y la cosecha Saturno, y duraba una semana. Saturnalia se caracterizaba por los banquetes, el libertinaje y el intercambio de regalos.

Hasta el s. XVI, los meses de inviernos eran tiempos de hambruna y el ganado era asesinado para no alimentarlo. Por lo tanto, la carne era abundante y las celebraciones se centraban en banquetes y alegrías.

Todas estas costumbres han sobrevivido porque fueron asimiladas por la tradición cristiana de la Navidad (Natividad en español // Christmas = Christs’ mass en inglés) tras la conversión del rey Constantino y se trasladó la fecha del 6 de enero al 25 de diciembre para asimilar las festividades paganas europeas.

Simboliza el renacimiento del sol, es tiempo de esperanza, bondad y renovación.

• ‌Canela (prosperidad y fortaleza)

• ‌Limón (limpieza, sol)

• ‌Mandarina (sol, vitalidad)

• ‌Romero (bendiciones, limpieza, protección, salud)

• ‌Laurel (salud, buena suerte, sol)

• Sal (purificación, protección). La he usado para representar la nieve.

•‌ Vela dorada (sol, abundancia, salud, suerte, prosperidad, bendiciones) o blanca (sustituye todos los colores)

• frasco, bote o saquito

Elaboración

Limpia físicamente tu área de trabajo y a ti mismo (puede ser tan simple como lavarse las manos o tan complejo como ducharse). Limpia energéticamente el lugar y el material necesario.

Cierra el círculo y, si trabajas con entidades, llámales y represéntalos con una ofrenda (comida/bebida).

Eleva tu energía con tu método favorito (yo suelo usar música 🎶).

Prepara el recipiente y añade los ingredientes de uno en uno, visualizando sus respectivas correspondencias, en el siguiente orden: sal, romero, limón, mandarina, laurel (dibuja un símbolo), clavo y canela (si molida añádela encima de la sal).

Enciende la vela dorada mientras piensas en todo lo bueno que te ha ocurrido a lo largo del año y todas las metas para el próximo, y medita sobre ello.

He usado una bendición en inglés que he encontrado (no sé de quién es) preciosa. No es obligatorio. He intentado traducirla.

Que encuentres paz en la promesa de la noche del solsticio, que cada día venidero esté bendecido con más luz. Que el ciclo de la naturaleza, intacto y verdadero, traiga fe a tu alma y bienestar a ti. Regocíjate en la oscuridad, en el silencio haya descanso, y que los días que siguen sean abundantemente bendecidos.

Sella el frasquito con cera dorada. Si has invocado alguna deidad, realiza la ofrenda. Cómela si quieres cuando la hayan consumido espiritualmente.

Da gracias y abre el círculo.

Feliz Yule brujes, os deseo salud y felicidad, y espero que el año venidero sea próspero y lleno de bendiciones.

Die Party kamen zurück von ihrer Erkusion zu der Krypta und trafen vor der Tür die letzte Person die zur Beerdigung eingeladen worden war: Nirvelli. Während ihr alles erklärt wurde öffnete die Gruppe die Kiste die sie gefunden haben um darin weiteres equipment zu finden dass ihnen hoffentlich helfen kann.

Losil hat dann mit seiner Großmutter Kontaktaufgenommen um das Omlette familienrezept herauszufinden

Danach gab es mehr research und der Abend endete wieder in der Taverne. Die restliche Zeit hat die Gruppe research betrieben und ist in der Nacht in eine Gruppe Zombie gelaufen die sie halb betrunken besiegt haben.

Der Sheriff war ihnen sehr dankbar für ihre Hilfe und ihren Bericht und Losil hat am nächsten Tag beschlossen einen ‘Stranger Danger’ Kurs mit den Kindern des Dorfes zu machen, und hat ihnen danach Süßigkeiten gegeben.
