oki but like merging "Cool As I Think I Am" and "If I Loved You" in the reprise is like fucking genius tbh like I am genuinely impressed by how both of the arcs explored in both songs were summed up neatly in the reprise in a sense that Pete finds his solid sense of identity and a big reason for that is Steph loving him despite not readily admitting it LIKE "If I really really did love you, you'd have to say-" "I know." ESPECIALLY WITH THE MAIN MESSAGE OF "IF I LOVED YOU" BEING THAT OF THE TWO DENYING THEIR FEELINGS FOR ONE ANOTHER BECAUSE THEY'D MAKE IT SUPER DAMN CLEAR TO THE OTHER IF THEY DID HAVE THEM SO WITH PETE SAYING THAT HE KNOWS AND WITH HIM LETTING STEPH KNOW HE DOES LOVE HER BACK BY BEING WILLING TO TAKE THE BULLET FOR HER LIKE FJSJDJAFJSJD

I so love the parallels that you drew in between the blondes that damen was seeing and Laurent. Or maybe damen just couldn’t help but compare everyone to Laurent. But I can’t help but wonder how would Laurent have reacted if damen started seeing a guy that was like a sunshine golden retriever boyfriend. Someone that Laurent would see as completely antithetical to himself, unburdened by trauma, and not “unloveable” like he was.

Thinking about how Wiggle and Gramble both want one thing: to be loved. In the hugest way.

Wiggle wants to famous, adored by the masses for a talent she has, for song that isn’t Do the Wiggle. Gramble wants love and it’s purest form. Never wanting to be abandoned and mistreated like his other family. Someone who will stay.

They try to solve this with Bugsnax!….It doesn’t go well. They learn pretty quick with series of desperate attempt after desperate attempt that Bugsnax can’t be the thing they need.

It blinds them from it even. Wiggle blinded to her snax’ craze and how she betrays Gramble, Gramble to the love Wiggle does genuinely have for her in a way, still striving for bugsnax to be his family. They need to be surrounded by something large, expansive, and whole to feel truly..accepted? Or if you’ll forgive the over usage of the word…loved.

And yet? In the end they find each other. Gramble finds someone who truly loves him, and Wiggle finds her inspiration. Abd neither of things are through something big and mighty (well…ignoring the end of the game)

It’s through something small.

Each other.
