YES i love it so so so much

i LOVE the monologue at the end. i really like her struggle throughout the whole book with whether or not shes a Good Person because she doesnt see herself as a hero but shes still not a villain, and i really like how it basically culminates in her deciding that shes not a good person but shes still not bad

not to mention!!! the fact that she thinks of killing as making her like deathstroke but then she still does it through the whole book... ough. AND the fact that she wasnt even planning on killing will !!! she wanted to make him suffer but even though he was her Big Bad for this book she didnt want to kill him UNTIL one of the girls died. GOD.

and then. ohhhh my god. the narration at the ending <333333 the fact that after years of defining herself only by what the people around her think of her she says "actually what only matters is what i think of me" but then what she thinks of herself is just as bad as how she thinks other people see her. oh my god

WHAT MATTERS IS THE CHOICES I MAKE AND WHETHER OR NOT I CAN LIVE WITH THEM. i love that line so much. i love this ending so much

i have mixed feelings on her epinephrine addiction (i hate how it started because terror titans sucks so bad. it felt so out of nowhere and it didnt seem like something she would do at all in terror titans, so the fact that it carried over bothered me bc i didnt like the plot line in general. but ignoring that it was fine in fresh hell ig) but GOD i love the thought behind this ending

i think that the idea that shes spent this whole book trying to grow from self destructive habits then at the end shes like "actually you can pry my self destructive habits from my cold dead hands" is sooooo her. she knows that shes making herself worse and shes choosing to do it!!! she hates being a killer but chooses to do it anyway, she hates using the epinephrine but she takes it again anyway. ough

summary of plot (no spoilers): a dorky awkward kid named Kevin is friends with this wannabe metalhead named Hunter. they're starting a band together but because of their flaws, their progress fumbles a bit. however, after finding out about their schools Battle of the Bands, they start working to prepare for the contest. as they improve their skills, they also improve their social lives and their own personalities

general thoughts: I GENUINELY LOVED THIS MOVIE SM????? god if youre into movies about a buncha flawed misfit friends then this is definitely a movie i'd recommend. the first few bits are a little awkward because you can kinda feel that the actors are still getting into their roles, but sticking it to the end is ABSOLUTELY worth it. all of the characters were so lovable and it genuinely filled that "i wanna see a movie about people just being people" hole in my heart. i still have no idea how to describe those kind of movies, but i feel like if yknow then youll know.

LITERALLY THE ONLY CHARACTER I HATED WAS SKIP (HUNTER'S BULLY), EVERYONE ELSE WAS SO SILLY????? ofc theyre all flawed and there were parts in the movie (especially with hunter) that made me disappointed to see, but the character progression was so satisfying and i loved seeing them all grow. it was genuinely so silly to me i love them all sm

EMILY AND KEVIN WERE SO CUTE TOGETHER???? AND I HONESTLY LOVED EMILY SM??????? JUST IN GENERAL??? LOVED KEVIN TOO BUT MAN I THINK EMILY IS MY FAVORITE. i loved all of her moments sm???? she has a lotta flaws but theyre honestly all reasonable and understandable to me so i kinda just forgive her for them anyways. i also just really love how sweet kevin is to her. like ofc he's not a perfect boyfriend and makes some slipups, but he genuinely really cares about her and i think it's so cute to watch.

more about me loving emily: I LOVED THE FACT THAT SHE DIDNT FORGIVE HUNTER RIGHT AWAY. LIKE IT WOULDVE BEEN COOL TO SEE, BUT THE PAYOFF AT THE BATTLE OF THE BANDS WAS EVEN BETTER. SPEAKING OF WHICH, SHE WAS SOOOOO FUCKING COOLIN THAT SCENE??????? SHE WAS COOL AS FUCK BEFORE THAT (u cannot tell me her cello playing wasnt the most badass thing out there) AND THEN THEFUCKING CCONNNCERRTTT??? IM CRYING I LOVE HER SOMUCCHHCH

i also really loved hunter. like there was a lotta scenes where i wanted somebody to punch him in the face, but he was honestly still lovable even throughout those scenes and he started improving a lot near the end, which was really nice to see. he obviously wasn't completely redeemable since there were still a lot of things he could've done better, but i feel like the fact that he didn't completely become perfect is what made me love his character a lot more. it felt really real to me. he isn't perfect, but he genuinely wants to make up for the shit he's pulled and he's absolutely trying to show it, and isn't that what living's all about anyways? either way, we love hunter in this household <3333

KEVIN'S TIME TO SHINE: that was a lie, i dont have much to say on kevin LMFAO. i absolutely loved seeing him on screen and i just love Jaeden Martell in general, but despite that, there's not really a lot for me to say about him. i just think he's neat. that's enough for me <3333 (emily shouldve been my girlfriend tho smh how dare he /j)

Practicing my sport -> it's not always, sometimes I want to quit but it's a part of my life I've always loved and would never change my decision of sticking to it, not even the bad parts (love is sometimes pain)

Reading -> I love reading, but I have recently realised I cannot read as much as I did before, I get tired/distracted after a few chapters when once I used to read 150/200 pages at time. It's sad but I've been putting myself on it again and I'm managing to read more and more, especially classics/comics

My cats :3 -> they're my babies, I love them to death and would do anything for them because truly they were there for me somehow through some bad moments of my life, and I love animals in general so spending time with them makes me feel relaxed and understood

Watching sports -> not just motorsport, also football and volleyball and, obviously, my own sport (karate). I love having a day where I just sit on my couch or bed and watch sports, where I can support my team, have fun or not because of the outcomes, but it's something I really love, it's fulfilling to me

Spending time with my friends -> at the club, at my or their house, strolling around the city, going to the sea, going to the park... What's your favourite thing about [Fizz]? i remember really not thinking anything of it at the time but i LOVE the transition of how he is in public/at ozzies to how he is at home!!!! its really interesting to see him soften up and i think theres a lot to be said about the persona he puts on in public that i just KNOW the show isnt gonna explore. i dont think hes the. best anxiety rep, but i do think there are moments where its compelling. OH and i LOVE watching his energy bounce off blitz, its super fun :3

YES oh my life i'm so vocal about how surprising the reaction was to apollo because that fic was my first time ever writing smut and i was so embarrassed and STILL AM so embarrassed that i havent read it back since the day it was published, but i still get people now tell me how much they like it which is sooooo shocking to me

uhmmMMm probably favourite PJ Harvey moment i think is her Glastonbury 1995 performance, To Bring You My Love was new at that point and that's my favourite album of hers, so she did a lot of the songs off that and she did them REALLY WELL, and it was just when she was really starting to develop stage prescence once she wasn't playing so much guitar, she dances around a bit more. she also has her iconic hyper-feminine blue eyeshadow/red lipstick thing, and this Hot Pink Catsuit which sounds weird & it is, but it was 1995 sooooo. the versions of Meet Ze Monsta and Long Snake Moan are really really good, and the last song she played was Water from her first album, but in a really different way and it's slower and gloriousssashanjsng <33333 PJ

her music videos from To Bring You My Love, especially Cmon Billy and Down By the Water, are very captivating, also Man-Size is one of the best music videos ever imo but that's from the album before.

my favourite Patti Smith Thing is her book M Train!! i love her music with all my being and probably always will, but M Train is quietly profound and touching and slow and sorrowful, but even in the sad parts there's hope, and everything she writes is imbued with this deep sense of grace, and reverence for art and artists and people she's known and loved.... Patti is my Favourite Person and her books are so beautifullllllll <333333 i love the way she writes about books as well, the way she writes about writers, the way she writes about her friends and their art, the way she perceives the world... her work is so close to my heart and ahsanjksan M Train.

far & away it's the seven husbands of evelyn hugo i disliked it SOOOOO so so so so so much love and light <3

17. did any books surprise you with how good they were?

honestly many of them but i think the juiciest one was the scar by china which. obviously is sort of ridiculous to even say bc i worship at the shrine of china miéville as we are all well aware but i actually took about 6 months or more to read the scar and it's just one of those that really creeps up on you;.. i talked abt this more when i had just finished it but perdido street station & the scar both fall in the category of extremely grimdark fantasy but with perdido it's immediately obvious how and why that's relevant and in the scar it takes ages to realise that this book too is grimdark. the depressive qualities of it are a lot more individualised/internal for the protagonist but that means that it's like somewhat easy to ignore until you get to the very end and then its just like. well it all comes at you all at once and it's fucking great <3 also liverpool by james worthy which is that memoir i was telling you about!!! i thought i'd enjoy it bc you know its abt liverpool but it was so much more than that it was so goooooood
