What’s your opinion on String theory? Btw I’m 100% for legend hate-maxing
short answer? crazy tinker lady is hot
Long answer is that I really love string theory for generally what she represents. Her personality, look and power are all really fucking good, the crazy mad scientist, the doomsday clock ticking down one second at a time as the heroes rush to stop it, it's all very reminiscent of the classic superhero stuff. What I like about it in particular, is that she's inside of the birdcage. There isn't any dastardly scheme to escape and cause havoc again, it's over. that part is done, and largely the age of more of the classic supervillains are done- it ended with the 'golden age' of superheroes. The birdcage to me acts similarly to a time capsule, or kind of a place to put all the archetypical villains that wouldn't fly in the real world because of how dangerous they are, like galvante being the classic mob boss guy, or teacher being the mastermind type. now all we have are gang leaders and shit. Also, (haven't read worm in a while so this could be wrong) but she fills the similar niche that other capes do in expanding the setting's power level. the birdcage has been built up as like this fuckin hell on earth place with all the toughest motherfuckers around, and she's one of the first looks we get at a cell block leader's power level, which was probably hitting scion with the most amount of force he's been hit with in that part of gold morning and getting flung into a mountain or whatever. she just fuckin built that shit idk it's cool. to me it always fucks when this random guy shows up that maybe offhand you've heard mentioned once and they do some cool shit and you can soyface and point at them like!! thats cool!! also she's super hot and crazy

The following tinkers are all given 2 months to create a basketball team of 5-9 players. These teams have to be entirely made of their creations.
The only limitations are everything has to be bipedal and have a vaguely humanoid shape, cannot have more than 8 limbs (tails count), and cannot be above 7 foot tall.
They then do a tournament. Assume that those that can't explicitly create drones (i.e mannequin) can turn existing stuff into drones. So mannequin could create a drone version of his current weird body as a 'player'.
Directly attacking other players is not allowed but indirectly is. Any damage is repaired between matches. Distorting the field by doing things such as creating acid pools is allowed, so long as the hoop itself is still accessible. Blocking the hoop in any way is not permitted. The ball must be accessible at all times - no teleporting it to alternate dimensions. No teleporting long distances in general, and ball modification is not permitted. Flight or wall climbing is not permitted.
Anything else goes.

Please completely explain string theory to me in two sentences or less.
You know how Spaghetti and SpaghettiOs are basically the same thing but they're in different shapes so one is a soup and one is a pasta? String theory is like that but without making sense.

Lena: You say you use fifth dimensional energy, does that mean string theory is correct?
Nyxly: What is string theory?
Lena: So spacetime is four dimensions.
Nyxly: With you so far.
Lena: String theory asks if there are more. Imagine you’re an ant on a string. The string is a two-dimensional surface. But to someone far away, the string looks like a one-dimensional line.
Nyxly: You’re saying humans are like ants?
Lena: Not exactly-
Nyxly: String theory is definitely correct.

THE UNIVERSE IS LIKE A STORYBOOK

Imagine our universe is a single book in a massive library. Each book has different characters, settings, and plots. The multiverse is the entire library — a collection of all possible books (universes), not just the one we’re living in.
But to believe there’s more than one universe, we need to understand a few things about how our own works first.

SPACE, TIME, AND DIMENSIONS
Space and time aren’t fixed backdrops — they bend, stretch, and twist depending on mass and energy. That’s what Einstein’s theory of relativity tells us. So imagine space-time like a stretchy fabric. Heavy objects (like stars) create dents in it, kind of like how a bowling ball dents a mattress.
That’s already a strange idea — but it gets stranger when you add...

QUANTUM MECHANICS: THE WORLD OF MAYBES
Zoom in super close — down to the level of atoms and particles — and the rules of reality change.
Particles can be in more than one place at once.
They don’t settle on a position until someone observes them.
The universe, at its tiniest scale, is more like a cloud of possibilities than solid facts.
This leads to something wild:

MANY-WORLDS INTERPRETATION
Every time a decision is made — flip a coin, take a breath, blink — the universe splits into versions where every possible outcome happens.
In one universe, you turned left.
In another, you turned right.
Both exist, just in different timelines.
This is the basis of one version of the multiverse:
Every choice spawns new realities.

COSMIC INFLATION: THE BIG BANG ON STEROIDS
Shortly after the Big Bang, space expanded faster than the speed of light (this is okay because it was space itself expanding).
Now, imagine blowing up a balloon where little pockets inside stop expanding at different times — each pocket becomes its own bubble universe.
That’s called eternal inflation — the idea that the Big Bang didn’t just make our universe, but an endless sea of others, like soap bubbles in a cosmic foam.

STRING THEORY AND EXTRA DIMENSIONS
Some physicists believe particles aren’t little dots — they’re tiny vibrating strings. The way they vibrate decides whether they become electrons, quarks, etc.
For string theory to work, though, the math requires extra dimensions — like 10 or 11 of them. We don’t see them because they’re curled up super tight.
Some versions of string theory allow for branes — giant multidimensional sheets of reality — and our universe might be just one floating in a higher-dimensional space.
Other branes? Other universes.

SIMULATION THEORY (JUST FOR FUN)
One fringe idea: what if we are living in a simulation? A highly advanced civilization could be running universes as software. If they can simulate one universe, why not many?
That’s a type of multiverse too — digital ones.

What are your thoughts on/the reasoning behind sub Satoru in FIYM?
aye aye captain i shall yap about this
obligatory: this a subjective interpretation, these are character choices i am making because i think they are compelling and explore themes that i like. probably don't psychoanalyze real life people through their sexual preferences.
okay, time to psychoanalyze gojo satoru through his sexual preferences -
so, something i have seen and heard is that powerful people are subs. 'power' here can mean any type of power, but generally this is connected to a person's societal position. this is maybe somewhat true (here's one study on s/m specifically - note the diff between men and women, i think this makes sense due to m/f social positionality, but clearly there's a lot of nuance and variance here), but it's certainly not a definitive relationship. but whether it is or is not generally true, i think it's a very interesting way to frame characters.
d/s is about control. so what do our characters want out of 'control'? who wants to be in control, and why? in the case of powerful people being submissive, I see it as both a release (from responsibility, from expectation) and a taboo (acting improper, doing the forbidden). on the flipside, with weaker people being dominant, it's a catharsis (getting reparations/payback against the power structure) and also a taboo (daring to step out of line/wield power).
Why is Satoru a Sub?
gojo satoru is a submissive for all of the above reasons. his position in the gojo clan, the responsibility that comes with it, and the expectation that he is a distant, untouchable god - is something he resents. he goes against this directly by being brash and irreverent. he shows a lot of aggression (socially, also combat wise) and energy, but this is not a real substitute for closeness.
and of course, as an adult -
what satoru wants is an equal - someone to share the burden with, someone on his level, someone he can trust. geto is certainly that, in canon. geto is the only one he trusts to truly watch his back. later, he'll trust people like shoko and yuta with contingency plans. he trusts nanami and kusakabe to look after the kids, and he trusts the kids to prevail after he's done his part (or at least, he's made peace with the fact that he's done all he can for them).
but there is never anyone else who stands beside him.
now, to go a little further, I think that what satoru actually wants is someone he can defer to.
not only can he share the load with suguru, he can also take a step back and give it entirely to suguru. and he can do this because suguru is not only strong, he has very strong principles. the focus on suguru's philosophy in Hidden Inventory - to me - is an indicator that satoru really wanted suguru to be 'the strongest', so that suguru could lead and he could follow.
now, unfortunately, suguru got The Trauma and found a way to justify genocide, so satoru had to nope out of that. but that's my read of canon: gojo satoru has been forced into a role of ultimate authority since birth, and he desperately wants out.
(this is a big driver of the jujutsu clan politics side plot in FIYM as well)
one other thing i'll add on the physical side of things - satoru's oversensitivity could really go either way. either he wants to have very precise control over what he is feeling to prevent overstimulation (dom leaning), or (the road we are taking) he wants someone else to push his body beyond his instinctive limits (sub leaning).
Bonus: Why is Satoru a M?
in 2sorcs ch 13, I do also veeeeeery briefly gloss over my Gojo Satoru is a Masochist headcanon. this is because he is a freak with a battle boner. and also something something Six Eyes - touch starved - seeking stimulation even if it's not necessarily pleasure. being hurt is another taboo for him, first because he's the strongest and second because of infinity.
Bonus: Why is Suguru a Dom?
actually, he's not. (in FIYM)
suguru is a switch. (in FIYM x2). lettuce 🥬 return to the concept:
...with weaker people being dominant, it's a catharsis (getting reparations/payback against the power structure) and also a taboo (daring to step out of line/wield power)...
suguru is extremely societally weak in FIYM. his past is extremely bleak (homeless, abused, cut off connections to family), and his present is extremely precarious (no clan backing, controversial technique). so if you followed this, then suguru lends himself to being a dom, yes.
however, this only really makes sense when the weak person is domming a strong person. and in terms of the physical power dynamic between satoru and suguru, satoru is not the stronger one. physically, due to the six eyes and satoru's lack of experience, suguru sees satoru as extremely vulnerable, so there's no societal/positional catharsis. he's extremely worried about overstepping satoru's boundaries (which satoru doesn't even want to set, which makes suguru worry even more).
obviously, with suguru's past, he cares a lot about consent. but even when it is given, he's worried that satoru doesn't actually know his limits, and won't know when to say no because of his inexperience and his overenthusiasm/wanting to please suguru.
(and satoru is also worried about this from his end, because he is worried about the societal power difference between them (the uncertainty principle) making suguru go along with things even if he doesn't want them (2sorcs ch 14)).
anyway, all this to say - suguru is not particularly compelled to dom satoru - he is a switch. he is filling the role that satoru is asking for, but he would also be perfectly happy to give control to satoru as well. i don't think that FIYM suguru would trust anyone else enough to be a sub, but with satoru, he knows that he's not in any real danger of being emotionally/sexually abused/manipulated, so he's down.
actually, we will see a little bit of dom satoru later in FIYM. here is the tiniest of snips as your reward, kind anon (and anyone else who made it to the end) - thank you for letting me yap.

I would have really loved to see what would happen if String Theory had survived Gold Morning. What do the Wardens even do with her running around except appeasement? There are a lot of countries getting close to war with Gimel, and she is essentially a nuclear detterant all on her own. No one wants to kick the country with a woman who can boil your seas. Permanently moaning, complaining, and insulting Dragon, except this time, she can't just ignore her since they're working together. More importantly, the second she got out of lockup, she'd go hunting down what happened with the egg Lab Rat had, and I'm sure she'd manage to find Chris.
Cannot imagine how horrible she would be as a bitchy aunt, there to permanently rub it in Lab Rat's face that she survived and all he has left is this teenage sorta-clone. They would absolutely despise each other. Would be a much more interesting conversation when Vicky goes to investigate his living situation though.

„Do you believe that people are meant to be together?” You asked him one rainy day. It was dark because of the clouds, the rain was running down the window and every now and then you could hear the thunder. „What do you mean?” He asked, not looking up from the screen. He was trying his best not to lose focus on the game, but also to give you at least the minimum attention you needed, especially when you asked questions like this out of the blue. „Do you believe that people can meet again and again, then pull away and still find each other at the right time?” „So string theory? But the Chinese one, not Einstein's” You thought about it for a moment. „Yes. Do you believe in String Theory?” He stopped playing and looked silently at the ceiling. The rain against the window was the only sound in the room. „…Yes. I’d like to believe that.” You looked at him and drew your knee closer to your chest. „So if two people don't end up together, would you say it just wasn't meant to be?” You asked. He sighed. „I think you never know when it's going to end. If they don't end up together in this life, maybe they will end up together in the next?” You took a sip of a hot tea. „But shouldn't people be able to find each other in just one lifetime?” He shut down the game and leaned back on the sofa to fully face you. „Do you think if your soulmate dies young, you're just not meant to be? I like to believe that there's still happiness at the end. If not in this life, then in the next.” You smiled, and took another sip of the tea. „I didn't know you were such a romantic, Suguru.” He smiled back and grabbed your arm to pull you onto the sofa. „Do you think you would choose me in any life?” He asked, kissing your forehead, as you leaned against his chest. You were sitting comfortably between his legs. „Of course” you replied without hesitation. „Even if you were evil.” „Oh really?” He laughed. „Would you love me even if I was a crazy cult leader like Manson?” You nodded with determination. „I would even love you if your morals were very questionable” You could feel his smirk, even if you couldn't see his face at the moment. He kissed the top of your head. „I'm sure even if I was evil and crazy and defeated by the good hero in the end, I would find you in the next life to have my happy ending with you.” You intertwined his long fingers with yours. „I know you would. That’s why I love you”
