ok now that the hype is wearing off i do have some things to say: the styling for this first clip is very pedestrian. the clothes do not match the concept at all. i'm hoping they will use more edgy and innovative designers in the next teasers because this is giving netflix teen show.
the background music is just fine. mys on twt were immediately freaking out like omg hyperpop aespa is so back - calm down. it's literally just a lesserafim intro. even the spoken word is way too similar to what lsf does... lmao but it's fine i don't really mind. SM doesn't even use the teaser bgm for the actual albums anymore but if this ends up being a track in the album i won't be mad! i just think it's not really that aespacore as people want it to be

Le Sserafim has made me a fan with their latest comeback.
youtube
Easy is a top tier joint.
Fucking up a punked out church with that slick ass choreo, bishops and nuns lining the isles bearing the group’s symbol while Chaewon dons a 777 hat leading her fearless girls into the church…
Yeah, I’m sold.
And we haven’t even started talking about the production, which of course feels perfectly layered and crisp enough to bite into. It’s perfect.
It sounds like I’m singing nothing but their praises but this is something of a first for me. Le Sserafim, like other HYBE groups, have dope choreo and are exceptionally skilled dancers. I mean, one of the members was a career-track ballerina (for context, if Jimin continued in the Contemporary dance track for 5 more years, performing beyond national competitions, he would’ve been at the step she was at when she left that industry, but for Contemporary), and she’s very evenly matched with her group. So yeah LSF are respected as the top performance girl group in 4th gen. But until now, most of their songs were misses for me. I could understand the appeal for k-pop stans, and I guess with more listens I’d probably like them, but most of their stuff wasn’t really my thing at first listen.
Until, Easy. I’ve been playing this song all day and have already added it to my FKA Twigs + NewJeans + FLO + Monet + Tinashe playlist. Checked out the rest of their album and it’s a solid showing, liked all the songs (another first for me), but I certainly love Easy the most and appreciate that Source Music knew what they were doing in making it the title track.
I expect k-pop stans to hate it though. Lol. For several reasons, all of which are silly. In my opinion. Easy is solidly good music and I hope the group continues to experiment with genres. They do each one they’ve shown so far very well.
The last time I did Coachella was years ago, but if I’ve got the time this year I might make the effort to see them perform this at the festival.

Isn't lsfs concept pics I spired by the sabrina espresso teaser pics?? Also the yunjin video circulating on twt looks so similar to anoks video even the camera vits are at the same time. I can see why people are calling them out, if it was njz or aespa hybe stans wouldbhave had a field day
about a bajillion people have done the tan line effect and it’s not something sabrina invented (source), that sabrina typography was edited (source), the anok video was edited to make it match (just watch the full video). and bringing up those groups is not the serve you think it is cause many of aespa’s visuals are blatantly inspired by things that were already done in fashion and don’t even get me started on nj …… all art is inspired by previous art and nobody is entirely unique, and especially when it comes to kpop lol everyone is reheating somebody else’s nachos, the whole industry is a microwave! you would know this if you weren’t a naive idiot who believes things written by losers on twt

Re txt, I generally really like their music and enjoyed their recent album. (Favorite songs are growing pains, deep down, and happily ever after. I always liked back for more, but I could do without chasing that feeling and I'd like to pretend do it like that didn't happen, both bc I didn't like it but also bc of the accidental embarrassment with hybe's charting expectations). It's weird bc they're one of the only groups whose music isn't really improved by their performance imo. Maybe aespa too. But then you have groups like skz or lsf, which have hit or miss music for my taste, that really elevate even iffy songs with their performances. It's not that the txt members are bad performers or anything bc they're clearly very skilled, but they have songs that I love and still I wouldn't bother seeking out live performances of them
I didn't like their recent album. I didn't like the genres they covered, especially the first metal song and the one after either the tt or Back For More. I only liked the pre-releases and the tt. I thought a lot of the songs were annoying.
I disagree about Aespa. Aside from the lipsyncing, I think their cold and untouchable vibes match their concept and choreos really well. I like their choreos in general and I think they elevate the songs.
With TXT, I think their choreos are very one-tone. They never go viral for a reason - there's nothing catchy or standout about them. To me it's like they're doing cardio on stage. They could do a lot better if they had choreos like BTS, Enhypen, SVT, LSF, etc. get. It's like they get the worst Hybe choreos.
Thanks for the ask!

I need you to elaborate on your deaf-from-one-ear Enjolras, it's very important for me
OKAY ACTUALLY TY FOR THIS ASK BC THIS HC IS IMPORTANT TO ME
-so for both canon and modern era it happens the same sort of way. in canon era he's about nineteen or twenty when he and the rest of the triumvirate are trying to smuggle in a keg of an explosive powder. during a break (because it's heavy as fuck and none of them are used to physical work), courfeyrac begins to spark up a pipe and an ember falls, causing the keg to fucking EXPLODE.
-enjolras was the closest and the noise was so loud and the force was so powerful that he sort of gets knocked out in the process. by the time they're trying to scatter because (oh my god they set off an explosion in the middle of paris). combeferre and courfeyrac have to drag a half-conscious enjolras into one of their established hiding spots.
-when he wakes, there's a ringing in his right ear and a really bad ache on the left side of his head. combeferre had noticed during their escape of sorts that enjolras had begun to bleed out of his left ear and when they're trying to do basic tests to see if he's okay, he'll snap next to his ear or something similar and ask if he can hear
-enjolras can't
-he has tinnitus after that and remains deaf in that ear and so he likes to keep grantaire on his left side during meetings and when courfeyrac is being annoying he'll sit so that he's on the deaf side
-in modern era, they're at a protest when an explosion goes off. enjolras, who seems to have wonderful luck these days, was in the front of the crowd and got sort of the worst of it. he's fully deaf in his left ear- again.
-he's fitted with a hearing aid after that. enjolras told combeferre for a couple days that "he was fine, his hearing would come back" and it just wasn't going to, so combeferre forced him to go to the doctor
-his hearing aid is lime green because the doctor mentioned that most adults go for a colour that matches their skin tone or their hair colour and he was like "i get to pick the colour?"
-so it's very green. but it's cute! he still can't like hear perfectly in that ear, but it makes certain sounds a little louder and less muffled feeling
-because men don't change, enjolras does the same thing in canon era. if someone is annoying him, he turns off the hearing aid and makes sure the person is on his left side bc fuck that noise (literally lmfao)
-combeferre also makes sure he does regular testing to make sure that he isn't losing the hearing in his other ear. similarly to canon era once again, he just has tinnitus
-feuilly is HoH from birth and he's expecting that he's going to go fully deaf earlier than he'd like, but he wears hearing aids in both ears and speaks sign language. he talks to enjolras about allowing himself to both prepare himself mentally if it ever happens or to at least know his options. he slowly learns to speak in LSF around feuilly and meets legally deaf people who can speak with him and help him practice
-courfeyrac has outfitted the outer part of his hearing aids with star stickers. with permission, of course.

lsf hates qt religiously. she's made it now so it's impossible to post clips of her stream on there and she fights people to take down misinfo and stuff but it's terrible. they were swatted during ludwigs suabathon and she turned the stream off and pretended it was an accident so people didn't know they were swatted and wouldn't do it more. the clip was posted to lsf youtube etc before people knew what happened and there were thousands of people calling her a bitch and saying she turned of the stream because she was jealous and all that stuff. she literally has ptsd from being swatted and still people are obsessed with hating her.
now obviously she deserves criticism for some stuff but she is actually very similar to dream. she's done some bad stuff but there are thousands of people who want to blow everything out of proportion and learn everything about her to post online. I think her proximity to ludwig protects her somewhat because almost all the people who hate her worship him no matter how many times he says he hates you if you dislike qt. I think qt hasan and dream are all similar figures of people who fanbase is almost equally matched by a slew of obsessive haters.
thanks for info this all makes sense! i'm a casual h3 viewer and the other week they all started laughing when they were watching her vod talking about the atrioc situation and i was like wtf is going on, i had a feeling she was hated behind the scenes 🥴

Monday, March 28th, 2022
I have been really sad lately. I haven't been able to find a job. It's been a headache.
But this week is a new week and I will not let myself be upset. I am going to do everything I can to make myself happy. To do this I set myself goals.
I want to paint more.
Become fluent in ASL and spoken French. Eventually I would like to learn LSF.
Clean the house more so my boyfriend doesn't have to take care of me as much.
Watch more movies.
Read more books.
Blog more.
Do ballet/yoga exercises.
I set a to-do list in my reminders on my phone for every day of the week. It's a lose to-do list and I have room in my day to be lazy too.
I have been looking for work from home jobs lately. It would match me the best.
We have 4 bedrooms and to help break up my day the rooms are all important (thank god I have no kids).
My boyfriend has his office/guest room. I have no reason to go in there much.
I have my own office/guest room. I intend to work in there when I get a job.
The primary bedroom of course.
Then there is the basement and basement bedroom.
The basement is like a second living room - great for the summer months! So cold down there! We keep the video games and workout stuff down there. Then there is a room off of the basement. That is going to be the library. We want to get bean bags and blow up furniture to add to the futon down there. There is where I will be reading and painting on hot days.
This way I wont feel like I am trapped in the house. Every room gets used and has a purpose.
I also put in to give my dog a walk every few days (she's small and gets tired fast so every few days is okay). We have a backyard for her to go crazy in and I already go out with her for 30 minutes at a time.
Monday's I go to physical therapy. Subject to change when I get a job...
I hope I get a job.

DINOSAUR NEWS:
This was recently brought to my attention yesterday but I wanted to wait until today to post. This 150-year feather, which was well preserved garnered new attention to older fossils due to its unusual story. This fossil feather was originally thought to be belonging to the popular species, Archaeopteryx. This mystery was finally solved.
At the University of Hong Kong, they were able to use LSF imaging to distinguish if the feather was a primary or secondary along with figuring out how to match it because the fossilized feather’s quill was missing. However, the imaging process allowed the researchers to finally place the missing quill in its place. The result?
It isn’t a primary feather or a secondary archaeopteryx feather. It belongs to an entirely new species, close in features and apart of the archaeopteryx’s family however it has a different feather. This discovery has also stirred a new task to review older fossils with newer technologies knowing that if we continue to review older found fossils we could be passing over a completely new species we’ve never even researched.

Kasabian's Serge Pizzorno: 'Being pretentious is my number one fear'
Tim Jonze - www.theguardian.com - Photo: Neil Bedford
2 Sep 2019
He’s the lairy lad rocker who scored one of the best ever goals on TV – in winklepickers. Now he is aiming to be music’s answer to David Lynch
Serge Pizzorno is looking back at the rise of his band Kasabian and trying to pinpoint when it all became a bit too much.
“You’d turn up at shows and there’d be 20-odd trucks there, a catering team, loads of people everywhere,” he says. “And you’d think, wow, this is actually a job for a lot of people, and it all rests on these four maniacs!”
This was in 2017: the band had just completed their sixth album, For Crying Out Loud, released to mixed reviews, and all was not well in camp. After 20 years together, Pizzorno was worried the band were getting stuck in a rut. And then there was the personal turmoil: not for songwriter Pizzorno, who had settled into family life in Leicester (he has two boys, Ennio and Lucio), but for Tom Meighan, the band’s wild-eyed frontman.
Mimicking their idols Noel and Liam Gallagher, Pizzorno wrote the songs while Meighan brought the stage presence, preposterous quotes (“Our songs sound like we’ve shit ourselves 10,000 feet in the air”) and ludicrous tales. Band legend had it that, whenever Meighan became too much to handle, the other members had to take him to the nearest Toys R Us store to calm him down. But following a split from his partner, the relentlessly upbeat singer was struggling. He cried in one interview at the time.
“Tom’s still figuring things out, but he’s in a much better place now,” says Pizzorno when we meet for coffee in London. But it’s no wonder they needed time out. “I was worried we would get stale. Sometimes you need to go down the rabbit hole to refresh things.”
The SLP is that rabbit hole. It’s his initials – his full name is Sergio Lorenzo Pizzorno – and the name of his forthcoming solo album, recorded at his home studio, the Sergery (yes, really). With its guest appearances from Little Simz and Slowthai, and wild eclecticism, it’s reminiscent of Gorillaz – a cartoonish world constructed as an escape from the pressures of being in an enormous band.
Pizzorno sees it less as a new direction and more a return to the way he started off making music. Back then he was using an old Atari and a Midi keyboard; these days he’s been recording on his phone, stealing snippets from 70s Italian horror movies, “weird Polish shit”, and whatever grabs his attention when he’s out and about.
“I’ll be in Tokyo, hear the buzz of the electricity running through the pylons, and be like...” he waves his phone in the air, as if frantically trying to record the sound. “All my mates will be taking the piss. And even in my own head I’m thinking, ‘I’m never gonna use this.’ But this time I did.”
Indeed, the buzzing pylons make it into The Wu, an incredibly odd song about wandering through hotel corridors in search of the afterparty. It’s a case study in Pizzorno’s esoteric influences, from the South African disco label Heads and Lee “Scratch” Perry to the late Nigerian synth wizard William Onyeabor. Elsewhere there’s Mediterranean house (Nobody Else), mariachi meltdowns (Meanwhile … in the Welcome Break) and, in ((trance)), the kind of joyously anthemic track that wouldn’t sound out of place in, well, a Kasabian set.
Did the rest of the band not think: can’t we have a couple of these tunes? “It’s probably testament to why we’re still together that they didn’t mind,” says Pizzorno. “Tom understands that you need to explore what else is out there. Otherwise you become the band everyone expects you to be.”
The irony is that Kasabian have never been the band a lot of people think they are anyway. When they emerged in the early 00s, with electro-influenced rock anthems such as Clubfoot and LSF, they were stereotyped as lairy lad rockers, when in reality they were just as enamoured by hip-hop and acid house.
“On our first record I would wanna sit people down and go, ‘No, no, no – this is where we were fishing for that stuff, Can and Neu! or whoever. But whatever we said, the journalist would just ask us about the Happy Mondays. I soon realised it was best to just keep your mouth shut, because if you’re still able to make albums and art, who cares where it comes from anyway?”
I interviewed the band a few times back then and always found them far kinder and more erudite than they were portrayed (“On the road carnage with rock’s rowdiest band!” screamed one NME cover line). But it’s fair to say, with their wild tales and boasts, they played up to it.
Was the lad thing a bit of an act? “We knew that journalists wanted it,” says Pizzorno. “But at the same time, we did grow up where, if you wanted to be in a band, you had to have your wits about you. If you’re playing in a village pub in Leicester in front of a load of lads that would throw darts at your head for having long hair, you can either go in and be all art school, or you can snap a snooker cue in half and say, ‘Let’s go!’ But then I still wanted to get them in the corner and talk about Jodorowsky afterwards.”
Pizzorno’s lad-rock credentials were no doubt enhanced by two televisual moments: a goal on Soccer AM, in which he improbably flicked the ball up in the air while wearing winklepickers before volleying it into a tiny hoop; and an even better strike during the Soccer Aid charity match that saw him scoop the ball over former England keeper David Seaman’s head and into the top corner of the net. The mention of these acts of sporting glory makes Pizzorno groan: “You’ll work for ages on a piece of music or art that you’re really proud of. But kick a ball through a hole in an inflatable bouncy castle and it’s what you become known for.”
Come on though, which was his favourite goal? “With the Soccer AM one I’d been up all night, I was hanging. If I was sober I’d never have even tried it. But the [Soccer Aid] one … not only is it a great goal, but for five minutes after scoring it, I’ve never been more off my nut in my life. As a pure sledgehammer hit of adrenaline, it was insane. God knows what it would be like to score in a World Cup.”
Less impressive when it comes to lad stereotypes was a cover of Q magazine, on which Meighan and Pizzorno appeared alongside two naked ladies, something that even back in 2011 looked like a relic of a bygone era. Pizzorno groans again, but this time he means it. “That really kills me,” he says. “It was sold to us as Jimi Hendrix, Electric Ladyland, a celebration of 60s psychedelia. But we learned an important lesson there – we need to take control over every element.”
Pizzorno says the band have always been more inclusive than people give them credit for. “Art can be the start of something. At [Kasabian’s] gigs you only have to look at the first few rows to see there’s people from all over the world, with completely different views on how things should be done, but at least we’ve got them together.”
There’s a song on The SLP that addresses this, the final track Meanwhile … in the Silent Nowhere. “It’s about communication,” says Pizzorno. “Previously, even if you were rightwing or had extreme views, it felt like there could be some sort of dialogue where you could at least hear each other’s stories. Now it feels like, ‘This is my belief, fuck you’ ... there’s a danger in us not sitting down and talking face to face.”
What does he think of the current political situation? “It’s like Vegas. Fundamentally, the system is rigged and whatever you implement, the outcome will be the same. You’re probably talking revolution here but we need someone to come along and start again.” Is Jeremy Corbyn that person? “He’s the best shot we’ve got ... but I think there’s more. There’s someone else out there that can marry spirituality [with politics] and break the system and get us to start again somewhere better.” He laughs: “I think I’m just waiting for the messiah.”
Right now, Pizzorno has more pressing problems than the overthrow of capitalism: how to be a musician without Meighan by his side. He’s planned an impressive stage show, with different characters performing each song. It sounds ambitious. “But in a really minimal way,” he stresses. “Not overblown, the opposite to lasers and screens. It won’t be pretentious. Pretentious is my number one fear.”
Will there be costume changes? “Very subtle ones. There might be a hat. I might be barefoot. Fundamentally, I want it to be like a David Lynch thing, where people feel on edge, as if they’ve entered another world for 50 minutes.”
Pizzorno says he knows he can never compete with Kasabian’s enormous gigs – those gigantic, truck-bearing affairs with catering teams and staff everywhere. “But the aim is to get to that same euphoric point,” he says, “just in a whole new way.”
The SLP is out now. The tour starts on 5 September at Glasgow SWG3.
