I’m wondering if the withering plant means Jack is the new Death?? Death is supposed to reap God....?
is it/he? I mean, I think what’s actually missing in this equation isn’t exactly Death, but something closer to the “firewall between Light and Darkness” that Chuck tried to force Dean into acting as back in s11. I mean, Dean was supposed to be the Soul Bomb that destroyed the Darkness, and now Jack was supposed to be the Soul Bomb that destroyed the Light. There’s a deep parallel there.
Dean didn’t detonate, Chuck defused him after reuniting him with Amara. Jack actually did detonate, in the Empty, activating who knows what yet, but I don’t think it will be without consequences. And I think it will have consequences for Jack that we don’t understand yet. I’m mostly trying to figure out what those consequences might be.
What did that explosion that has the power to create life and kill god even DO to the Empty? Because it did SOMETHING. And if Billie is dead and no longer Death, then who IS Death? Who will fill that cosmic balancing point that Death has always represented?
What is the Firewall Between Light And Dark? Because it’s clear that something needs to hold Chuck and Amara apart, because Chuck on his own is just... not balanced.
I’m just spitballing that Jack is likely to serve some function along these lines going forward, since he is concerned that his power is gone and yet... there’s SOMETHING going on with him, because you don’t go through that sort of experience and just come out of it fine, you know?
It depends on what the solution to Chuck’s tyranny actually ends up being. I have never thought the answer was “he will die.” or “he must be killed.” He needs to be balanced, like I’ve been yelling since s11 Right now, he’s convinced Amara to give in and submit, to be absorbed into him giving him her power but not HER, you know? There’s a difference. Balance needs to be truly restored, and I think Jack is the key to that.
As Death, or as a functionary in a similar cosmic position, yeah. I don’t know how it will unfold, but we’ll know in a few days.

I LITERALLY SCREAMED
THIS IS NOT OKAY
i mean you hear ‘you come for my family i’ll come for yours’ and you think he’s gunning for the 99 which, okay, that’s not good but it’ll be Shenanigans As Usual and no threat that’s really serious but then
as soon as he says KEVIN you go WHAT

I'm a dog walker and one of my clients is a big, strong, HAPPY Pointer, who likes to be everywhere at once. Last week we had a very windy day here; trash cans blowing down the street, etc. There was a plastic plant pot rolling across the grass and of course my guy had to have it, so he goes bounding with me flailing along behind and he catches it. Victory! He trots with it in his mouth to a good spot, carefully sets it down, straddles it, and pees on it. The wind took it before he was done.
Oh my gosh this just sums up everything I love about dogs?? The big goofy ones are so much fun, like they don’t even realize how funny they are as they just live in the moment just SO excited omg A FLOWER POT I love it so much I MUST PEE ON EVERYTHING I LOVE!?! What an adorable doofus, please give him a cookie for me and tell him I love him! Thank you so much for the story!

Rules: tag 9 people you want to get to know better.
Tagged by @gwinny3k, thank you!
favourite color: Pinks, purples, blues. I like all colours really.
top three ships: Right now at this very moment I’m not exactly shipping much, or at least not like I used to. But let’s go with a) current obsession: Anne/Ann from Gentleman Jack, b) timeless classic: Garak/Bashir, and c) deep, ancient, and complicated fanning that I’ve never really considered shipping but they’re currently taking over tumblr and gayer than ever; Crowley/Aziraphale
top three brotps: agreeing with @gwinny3k on Jax and Sisko.  Vimes & Carrot is always an interesting one with complicated undercurrents. And can I cheat and choose a brot5? In which case, Erin, Clare, Michelle, Orla, and James from Derry Girls.
lipstick or chapstick: neither, really. I don’t like anything much on my skin, but I have an SPF 50 lipbalm which I use a bit.
current book: finishing up Record Of A Spaceborn Few, then probably starting the new Thrawn book.
Tagging: @thesummoningdark @maresdotes @anotherdamndragon @folieassdeux @turquoise27 @ludditeheart @big-black-x-wing @goldstarsfortulip

I made Tofu Tacos the other day. Marinated baked tofu sliced into a tortilla that was spread with refried beans, a sprinkle of tomatoes and onions, and then folded and fried in a little olive oil.... it was very yummy!
I’ve never had tacos but that sounds really nice. Tofu is a pretty good comfort food for me.

To me you are Tom. Boring, I know, but you’re the only Tom I know, so when I see a cool cat post, I think “Tom would like that!” Or I’ll see something out in the World that reminds me of something you said, “I should tell Tom about that”. (Though when I’m tired my brain sings Tom Tom the Piper’s Son, Tom of the Teeth)
That’s legit. It’s strange to realize that I’ve been giving out my name for long enough to be known by it by folks I haven’t met in person.

I’m a little confused. Chuck says he can’t see the Winchesters right now, but somehow he still can manipulate their lives? Did Becky clear his Godly Gaze with the power of positive thinking, or did I miss something?
I’ve been thinking of it as one of those same sorts of hand-wavey “we’re telling you this is the current status quo” things, like they’ve done with Cas’s power levels and abilities at any given time, you know? And I think they’re expecting us to extrapolate why and what it means going forward as we get context for it.
Amara has already easily seen that Chuck is... depowered. The bit from the THEN segment ending on Amara’s trip through the thesaurus emphasizing just how weak Chuck is right now was the last word on what’s important to keep in mind going into this episode.
Heck I really really need to write up my notes for this episode. Now if I could get my life to cooperate long enough to let me actually do that >.>
I don’t think Becky did anything for Chuck other than poke at his ego. He had to accept Amara’s judgment of him, because he was too weak to keep up the protest. he’s no threat to her. But Becky? With their history? And her belief that he was just a guy who got picked by God to record some stories that she happened to be obsessed with once upon a time? It’s a strategic manipulation on Chuck’s part, again framing himself as the victim and begging for Becky’s attention and sympathy.
She stated quite clearly that she neither needed nor wanted Chuck anymore, and he made it all about himself, as he does, that nobody needs him. Which, as a guy abandoned by God is one thing, but AS God himself is entirely different. Chuck painted himself as the victim, and let Becky continue to believe the lie, played on her sympathy, the fact she is actually a kind person, and asked for her help.
She humored him for a while, hoping that he would work through whatever was wrong, have his confidence restored, and then go away again. She probably did feel like she at least owed this guy that much, you know? I mean she built her entire life (her career, her hobbies) around the Supernatural books, and she owed that much to Chuck and his writing.
We’re not entirely sure yet what exactly is going on between Chuck and the Winchesters, nor what it means that he can’t “see” them and yet can still influence their lives via his writing. Is any of this limitation on him due to his direct connection to Sam via that wound? We know his loss of power is directly related to that wound, but how exactly is it affecting him?
We saw how it’s affecting Sam (he feels pain when Chuck prods at his wound, as seen in 15.02, and we’ve seen the sort of “nightmares” Sam is suffering through in 15.04), but how else is this wound affecting BOTH of them?
Is any of their current mood, thoughts, powers, etc. being directly affected by the other here?
Honestly, trying to understand it fully is kind of impossible based on the information we have been given so far. Right now we’re left with some interesting problems, but it seems that Chuck is just as confused about his current state as Sam is.
But I think we’re going to learn more about what’s actually going on very soon.

@mochisquish SAID: LET’S START A REVOLUTION.
YES I think we should!!!!!!
@elderyautjavegeta SAID: ME TOOOOOO. I SHOWED MY BEST FRIEND THE MOVIE THE OTHER DAY AND MAN I MISS MY BOYS.
Dude I can’t believe it’s been nearly 8 years since the movie came out! I’m still sad everyday that we didn’t get a sequel. :( :(
@ludditeheart SAID: I HAVEN’T WRITTEN ANYTHING SINCE THEN. SOMETHING WAS LOST.
I’ve written a ton of Supernatural but it just doesn’t feel the same. Mannnnnn, I miss the easy flow of the A-Team stories. They just popped out onto my laptop.

@ludditeheart replied to your post“I was lurking on your blog and I noticed a post that suggested Castiel...”
Bobby John's dead??? I don't... remember that. Did I block it??? Such an adorable little monster! Grr Crowley! *shakes fist*
I am so.. so sorry
CROWLEY: What was that? Purgatory’s where? [Shapeshifter spits blood in his face.] What is it with you animals? Did I tell you? This prison has a nursery. [He holds up a baby monitor. Through it babies can be heard crying.] All yours. I know how much you care about them. You’ve spent months gathering them to your bosom. Not so cocky now, are we? Finding Purgatory is important to me. You have five seconds to tell me where it is. After that, I’ll filet them in front of you. Toss their spines in your lap. Four. Three. Two.
ALPHA: Kill ’em all. We’ll make more.
It... can’t get worse than that, can it?

A happy number 10! :)
10. Describe your dream home.
OH FUCK YES
Location: in a town with good links to a nearby city. The town has its own train station and regular buses, but is still definitely a town. It has cute little cafes and a few takeaways so we can get takeout food on lazy nights.
Okay, so onto the place: a cottage, I think, but modern and clean inside. A kitchen with windows opening out onto a cute back garden full of bee-friendly flowers. The kitchen has lots of counter space, a blender, a dishwasher, a microwave, a toaster, an oven, a fridge/freezer... we have cute matching crockery. Maybe the fridge also has an ice dispenser on it. There is a breakfast bar in the kitchen!
We also have a dining table. The flooring is wooden and adorable. We have potted plants and we remember to water them regularly.
We have a lounge with a fire and big plush sofas. The carpet is soft and warm. The walls are painted a nice warm colour and we have one of those TVs that can access the internet so we can watch memes and netflix and whatever else we might want. We have playing cards and board games and books. There’s a dog bed for the dog.
We have a cute conservatory! We have nice plants in there and a little table and chairs, and a space to curl up and read and go on our laptops or whatever. I store a lot of my cookbooks in here.
There is a Reptile Room. This contains vivariums with herps and a little freezer for their food, along with good supplies of newspaper, cleaning spray etc.
Upstairs there’s a big bathroom (a smaller bathroom downstairs) with a big tub! There’s our bedroom, which has a massive bed with a thick duvet and very soft lovely sheets. We have lots of wardrobe space and framed photos. We have pillows but not cushions because they just kind of get in the way. The window has a nice view of the garden.
No attics or cellars because that is where monsters live

Does Jack maybe think it’s standard for humans to cough up blood during a cold?? I mean, humans do tend to leak various fluids for odd reasons with a shrug, so?
Oh no, I think he knows full well that This Is Not Normal. He also acknowledged to Cas that he understands full well why Cas may not have had as much time or attention for Jack and his seemingly mild problems (at least compared with the whole Michael-Building-A-Monster-Army nonsense, the Dean-Kidnapped-By-Michael nonsense, etc.) Jack is pulling the standard Winchester family’s move of playing I’m Fine when he is really not fine.
But he’s also just seen how Cas was unable to heal Lora, and had to revert to witchcraft-- which also failed to heal Lora-- and then only found a cure for her himself via strictly “human” methods of using his wonderful logical brain. He’d seen how Cas had tried his best to save Lora, and how he’d been burdened with the guilt that he’d not been able to save her, which Jack inadvertently compounded by blaming himself and the loss of his own powers for not being able to save her. So there’s multiple motivators for Jack not wanting to add this burden that Cas might not be able to do anything about anyway.
