For some odd reason, I decided to look up and see if they were selling jewelry online for a lot of the Square Enix characters we all know and love (a lot of the girls, namely, but also some of the boys). And I was looking for fan-made ones, and also products done by Square Enix themselves, and I was honestly surprised by all I found.

First of all, Square Enix has actually made a lot of such merchandise themselves (for a pretty penny, of course, but it's still pretty neat). Like, they even made Ashe's necklace from Final Fantasy XII, which I was not expecting, oddly enough. Partly because a large part of me wasn't even sure it was a necklace I was seeing in her design, until today when I saw two artist renditions of her done by Akihiko Yoshida and Ryoma Itō, as opposed to just staring at her 3D model and trying to figure out if the jewel I was seeing was a necklace or part of her shirt.

Though, oddly, neither fans nor Square Enix have made Garnet's necklace... or, at the very least, I couldn't find one on Amazon nor Ebay today.

There also doesn't seem to be Shiki Misaki's pendant (which sadly doesn't surprise me, since TWEWY and Shiki herself aren't that popular), the Nameless Star from Kingdom Hearts yet, or Kairi from Kingdom Hearts... and that one vexes me so, when we have had Sora and Roxas' necklaces sold for years.

...I guess for the heck of it I'll spell out all I did find today.

Aerith's new necklace from the Remake series, fan done.

Rinoa's necklace fan done... Though since at least the Griever part of her necklace is Squall's (as he gives it to her in the story), you could buy the professionally done pendant that was done for Squall and just give it to Rinoa and lie and say it was for her if you wanted. LOL. It's the same thing and you would be covering your bases there.

When Lunafreya was eight years old, her mother held a ball for the celebration of the treaty signing between Tenebrae and Lucis as well as Oracle Aera’s ascendance as the first Oracle. At the time, Ravus who was 16 would be leaving with King Regis and his son Noctis to Insomnia as a guest to the Lucis Caelum family to finalize the treaty between the two countries. Lunafreya would miss him greatly so he gives her a gift: a white and gold music box engraved with sylleblossoms with an accompanying moon necklace as the key. He planned to meet her and their mother in Altissia on his return trip to Tenebrae.

However, the Nox Fleuret family would never be together in Altissia.

1. ) noctis has a plethora of nicknames in his arsenal where ignis is concerned. the long years they've known each other just adds to that. iggy, specs, spikey, even the occasional yes chef when he's feeling particularly bothersome has been known to come out . ignis is so well - tuned that it's too easy for noctis to tease and goad him like this, and one of the many ways noctis is able to express their kinship.

2. ) the original task for ignis to recreate the tenebraen dessert he'd discovered as a child quickly became an excuse for noctis to spend time that wasn't only dictated for duty with him. noctis can barely remember what it tasted like anymore, and it exists merely in his memories of tenebrae and lunafreya, which are out of reach now.

3. ) on ignis' 18th birthday noctis took it upon himself to gift him the black skull necklace he's seen wearing in game. part rite of passage for crown retinue, and part ( mostly ) to show appreciation for what ignis has done and what he means to him. noctis has trouble expressing himself though words and finds actions easier to convey what he's feeling, even if that does mean the receiving party is left in the dark trying to figure out what he meant by it.

4. ) being his senior, ignis ultimately grew up faster than noctis. before he knew it ignis was scarcely around, off to find himself amidst the chaos of adulthood and leave noctis still an adolescent. selfishly, noctis was seldom ready to let go and found himself lacking the emotional intelligence to portray that. he was jealous of the friends ignis had made away at university, each older and wiser than him, bitter that the devout attention ignis had always expended towards him now lay at the feet of others. obviously, he got over it but it was a stark wake - up call and realization to how much he relied on ignis and how immature he'd been over the course of their relationship. everything worked out in the end though, and their bond is stronger for it.

Since my brain apparently does what it wants, Nocturne has checkerboard-style jumpsuit and/or a checkerboard jacket with black sleeves. The outfit depends on the mood she’s in (or, you know, the temperature).

…if you look close enough on Nocturne’s body, you can see the lines where I had originally planned for the skirt to be a pair of shorts. Assume she’s wearing them under said skirt.

Though, she could probably wear both at the same time? Throw on the jumpsuit, then put the jacket and skirt overtop. Probably be somewhere cold, or maybe it would be pretty late at night, and cold because of that.

Probably would wear leggings or tall boots either way. Have to the protect the skin and those knees with all the running through forests and dungeons and warping through the air and getting smacked to the ground by enemies, after all.

Between the jumpsuit/checkboard outfits - the weird sun with wriggling rays of light - this is (or was) supposed to be the pendant on Noct’s necklace. A moon and stars for Lunafreya, a sun and (tinier, since the sun is a star) stars for Nocturne, basically. They match!

Her hair wasn’t supposed to be so big and poofy. If I were to dry and redraw it, I’d probably try and make it a little less big in comparison to the rest of her skull and body, but I think I did nicely overall?

Nocturne can alternatively have long or short hair for me. Either way, she’d look hot - short hair is feminine and all that, but so is short hair? Pixie cuts, bob cuts, the list goes on.

Also, short hair would be less of a hazard on the field, unless long hair was braided or tied up, etc, etc.

Man, now I want to try and draw her with short hair and give her clips and other accessories, and draw her with long hair bound up with bobby pins or flowers (example: flower crowns, as mentioned by flashback Luna in game) - all things that are significantly out of range with my skill level.

For now.

On a different note, I suck at drawing sylleblossoms. One day, though, I will draw a nice one! And it will be beautiful!

I also drew a dress. It was my attempt at designing a wedding dress for Noct, and it ended up more Zu-inspired than anything else.

It’s not exactly finished, and I don’t like the shape of the current silhouette but:

A) It’s in pen, too late now to change it.

B) I’m also too scared of adding anything in case it goes over-the-top.

I’m thinking it’s a heavily sequined or jeweled gown, though. Maybe for a masquerade event of some sort.

The feathers weren’t supposed to be there originally. I was thinking a striped gown, maybe - and then I was looking at the lines I drew and went - hey, if I connect some of these together, they’ll look like feathers!

Zu feathers are so big, they’d probably be pretty costly, and who wouldn’t want a dress made from giant bird feathers? Unless you’re allergic, or have a fear of birds because then you do have a pretty good reason. Zu birds in game are black too, the Lucian royal colors, so I decided Why Not?

Hence why it is Zu-inspired.

I didn’t expect it to come out so good though, and am now terrified of being unable to replicate it on the other side (like two wings folding around the skirt, which would be really cool) to even try, haha.

(Alternatively, the dress could belong to Aulea or Fem! Regis…or canon Regis or male Aulea. Or even canon Noctis. Just…so pretty? Man, I’d love to see Noctis in a dress. Regardless of gender, I genuinely believe they’d all be able to pull it off - and probably scandalize high society while they were at it, but meh. Who else cares? They’d be fabulous…and also the reigning monarchs/crown prince of Lucis. What would high society do? Scorn them?)

Depending on how heavy the feathers would be, if they were embroidery or something, maybe it would be a detachable overskirt or something…thoughts to chew on.

That or I’d slim down the skirt, and the feathers would be the skirt itself, and even have a train of feathers behind it. Oh, that would be pretty, wouldn’t it?

And then, at the belt, there’s a sort of chatelaine or stomacher that hangs down, with onyx and obsidian gemstone pendants - probably set in silver or gold.

You know... it is kind of amusing, in some ways, just how hard Nomura has tried to get his star girl Stella back, and stars back into her design.

So, originally, Stella didn't have stars in her design, it's true.

But when he had redesigned her at the time that Versus XIII became Final Fantasy XV, he gave her star earrings:

But then, of course, Nomura got kicked off of Final Fantasy XV and Tabata became the director of the project instead. And Stella was replaced with Lunafreya. And they gave Lunafreya a moon necklace, but it still had a star with it--as if to say that Luna was the new Stella, so to speak, and that she'd be taking some of what Stella's role had been in Versus XIII's story (as well as having new things to her tale, of course).

But then Square Enix realized that they made it too similar to the symbol of Islam, or something like that, and they didn't want any confusion there--as Final Fantasy XV didn't have anything to do with real life religions, of course--so they dropped the star and just left Luna's necklace in a moon shape:

When Nomura started putting his Versus XIII ideas into Kingdom Hearts, however, including a woman who is clearly meant to be a new attempt at Stella, he was quick to give her a star pendant so that we knew.

And now we're caught up to the present.

Hair and necklace details

My FFXV OC in my Aureliaverse AU concept

Aurelia Lucis Caelum, older sister to Noctis.

Her duty is to oversee the economy, assisted by the council and Clarus Amicitia. She is secretly enlisted as a glaive for a while by Clarus to let her learn dicipline and to find her own retinue, and she is currently second-man in charge, assisting Clarus in a secret government project to provide technology, necessary and essential needs for the Lucians to survive if something goes wrong with the impending prophecy ahead.

Her clothing was made to counter Lunafreya's restrictive dress, colorwise, design wise and flexibility wise.

Aurelia was created with efficiency in mind. She was made into a placeholder to take care of her nation, despite not being the crown princess, thus her dresses would be tailored to her active life, with jacket for formality and protective element, and A-line skirt dress for mobility as she must be able to access her armiger, even using a dress.

Her long,flowing split-sleeve was made with Regis' ornate decor in mind, as she's emulating her father, as well as giving her a sense of flair whenever she moves, yet more modest version in an ailing country to show empathy, less detailed, less lavish.

To counter Lunafreya's more fantasy-like appearance (i.e. in the movie) that depicts her status as a priestess, Aurelia's hair is tightly braided and her dress is made modern, clean cut, simple with the Late Queen's Emerald necklace as the only status symbol as a modern royalty. Gloves are mandatory as to protect her hands, and Mary-Jane Strap low-heels are easier to run with and provide comfortable options to walk lengthy distance.

Her underdress gives her enough modesty while still enabling her to fight.

Her retinue so far consists of one Hand, one Glaive (later she's given two for protection), and one secretary that's also her Body Double. Her staffs and retinue is considerably smaller than of Noctis' as she is not the crown princess.

I kinda based her public persona as a mix of kate middleton, padme amidala and Regis's calm demeanor. Pleasantly demure in social situations to disarm her opponent, detached and distant with a smile, yet able to deliver jabs of words without seeming emotional nor personal.

But her private personality is a bit different, as she is deadly stubborn, witty, vindictive, and loyal, and of course she is able to throw a massive royal tantrum during her teen years due to Regis' attention mostly on Noctis.

Clarus who's also her godfather and semi-father figure was one of the few people that she would even listen to besides Regis as she still desperately needs for her father's praise and approval. Cor definitely hates her guts during those days.

But she mellowed after Nyx and Crowe shown her the poverty-ridden side of Insomnia, and she began to work hard for her people even if she's not going to be a queen. She is still able to throw a royal tantrum, however, but it's tamer than Noctis's, and far manageable by her retinue as she grew mature.
