one funny thing at the rheumatologist was that she was prodding me all over saying “does this hurt? does this hurt?” bc she wanted to see if I have joint inflammation. and in one of her prods, she pressed two fingers HARD against a giant oozing scab and said “does this hurt,” and I was like “I mean, yes, but probably for a different reason.” then she looked down and started freaking out and saying sorry over and over

#MAAM #ma’am…..#okay so I was looking on facebook marketplace for some beads #bc I want to put them on my crochet project but I am capital B Broke #and I figured facebook might have a few cheap bulk options right #and they did!!#a few necklaces/bracelets and a couple small bags of medium sized beads #all for five dollars #PERFECT #so we drive out to her house #AND SHE PROCEEDS TO GIVE ME ALL OF HER BEADS #LIKE ALL OF THEM #AS WELL AS SOME OF HER FINISHED JEWELRY #MAAM!!!!!!!#and these jewelry pieces are like so pretty btw #like I cannot bring myself to dismantle a few of them #I’ve already given away a bracelet to my mom #as well as another bracelet and a necklace to my aunt #and there’s a couple I’m keeping for myself #ANYWAY #I am talking EASILY a hundred dollar’s worth of beads #I CANNOT STRESS ENOUGH HOW MUCH I WAS NOT EXPECTING THIS #FOR FIVE DOLLARS #BRO #she said she was gonna start like giving shit away if she couldn’t sell it #but like still!!!#I feel like I conned an old blind woman out of her family’s heirloom gems or something #please please please I beg of you #give the older craftswomen in your life some love

We took the in laws to a little park I like. The scenery was rather wasted on them but it was a nice cool morning to go walking. The first huckleberry bush I saw I shared a look with my beloved. We both knew the in laws would be horrified at the thought of eating wild berries.

By the third bush I was too tempted and cheerfully announced, “Look, berries!”

They milled in horrified confusion as my beloved and I picked a small handful. I heard my step-MIL whisper, “They didn’t wash them…”

We offered them each berries while expounding on berry facts in the Pacific Northwest including the types we grow and the culture around trail berries. They both declined to try any.

I’m still processing how it happened and wondering what it all means, but today a big pink hamfaced English guy tried to fight Dr Glass in a parking lot (!) and a completely unrelated, amazingly tall woman appeared (!!) and charged the other guy in defense of Dr Glass (!!!) shouting at him so effectively that he got in his car and drove off.

Dr Glass doesn’t look like anything in particular or even do that much, he is so ORDINARY. He just emits some kind of magnetic field that causes Events, and yet the magnetic field also creates feedback that insulates him from the Events. Doesn’t even have to do his own fight scenes!! just magnetically attracts a TALL BRAVE WOMAN to destroy the entire fighting premise. No one can prepare for this. I feel like I’m the only person who notices it

#dr glass lore reveals #the premise of the fight was that the other guy almost hit me with his car and objected to Dr Glass’s objection #there was a lot of nuanced British masculinity in play but basically there was a big differential #in types of guy that made it even more awkward #best possible solution was this unhinged one. lady appears out of nowhere #offended that anyone would even try to punch Dr Glass. shouts aggressor down and leaves.#unrelated to all parties unconnected to the venue unbothered by the narrative #dispute the premise. exit.#I admired her tremendously not least because my role in the nuanced British carpark rumble was going to have to be a very complex one #the partner of the classier person can do a WHAT IS THIS NONSENSE? GET IN THE CAR gambit if they carry themselves well #but before i even stepped up to the chessboard this woman broke the fourth wall entirely. thank you ma’am #🫡
