“it’s ooc of sasuke to ignore his family in boruto” is a superficial take that misses the point of the naruto manga quite a bit. the narrative leans much more to the side that sasuke values his family not simply because “it’s blood”, but because of how he feels towards them, because he wants to make his father proud, because he admires his brother, because his mother comforts him, because people in his clan encouraged him, because his clan has traditions and powers that made him feel proud to be a part of. it’s not family for the sake of family, it’s the warmth that family brings him. “sasuke has always wanted a family” is false. sasuke wanted his family back, the one he had already, he doesn’t want a new family.
it’s the reason why naruto is special to sasuke, because naruto brings the same warmth that sasuke’s family did, it’s stated by sasuke himself.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
a warmth that was enough to influence sasuke’s desire for revenge by the way, a warmth that is constantly contrasted by the narrative against the darkness that comes from itachi’s influence.
and it’s the same idea in naruto’s narrative, even stronger than sasuke’s, because naruto has found his strength in the bonds he made. of course it’s important to him when he meets his parents since he grew up without them, but it’s even more relevant is when he finds out that his parents died while protecting him, the same way iruka and sasuke risked their lives for him and were able to change his heart.
Tumblr media
it’s clear that it’s not simply “family because they are blood”, but rather what they do for you and how you feel about them.
so how is it out of character of sasuke to not want anything to do with sakura? a person who’s at best indifferent to him and at worse makes him uncomfortable, who can’t draw any strong emotions from him. is it really that surprising that sasuke is more fond of boruto than his own daughter when boruto reminds him of naruto, who is special to him? if there is one message that kishimoto was able to keep the same in this butchered story was this one actually.

step bro kiba…jealous step bro…😵‍💫😵‍💫😵‍💫😵‍💫im gnawing on my enclosure
18+ MDNI, fem!reader // cw: stepcest, alcohol
divider credit: @/benkeibear
Tumblr media
the most entertaining thing is that if you haven’t done anything before, he can’t even really show that he’s jealous without outing his attraction to his little sister?
but it’s kiba we’re talking about here, so of course he’s going to exhibit envy one way or another, even if it might come across as a little bit childish sometimes. so it’s all “do it yourself” and “why don’t you ask naruto to help ya out since he’s so perfect” and shoving you out of the way and out of his room and whatever the fuck, because the fact that you’re texting and possibly going out with his friend bothers him that much.
you try to go the rational route and take it that he’s upset because you’ve stolen his friend from him and are slowly forcing yourself even further into his life; even further into his friend group. and while that would be a completely plausible reason, it’s so far from the truth.
he shows you that when he comes back home completely wasted one late night. you’re awake because you’ve secretly been waiting for him to return; sitting on the couch in the living room and not really paying much attention to the TV show that’s been playing for the last hour or so.
you rush to greet him as soon as the door clicks shut like a good little sister, but rather than saying hello, you instead have to crouch down and help him untie his shoes — he’s so shit-faced that when he bends over to do so himself, he stumbles a bit and almost tips over once or twice.
you’re taken aback by the sight. it’s very, very, very rare to see kiba be this level of drunk — the last time it happened was on the day that hana, his actual sister, had gotten married. he’s a big man after all, he handles his liquor extremely well; always holding his posture straight and his movements fairly precise no matter the amount of drinks he’s consumed. but now he’s over here absolutely wasted, barely standing upright unless you help him out.
and you do help him out, of course you do, even if he doesn’t ask you to! there’s this crooked, almost infuriating half-grin sitting on his face the entire time you kneel before him and take care of his shoes for him, and he’s — much to your surprise — feeling awfully chatty all of a sudden, despite the fact that he still refused to talk to you before leaving the house just mere hours ago.
so you help him up the stairs, letting him rest most of his weight on you by draping his arm over your shoulders and by leaning into you even if you feel severely out of breath by the time you finally reach his bedroom and stumble through the door with him.
leaving the door wide open behind you, you’re thankful that your parents are out of town for the weekend because with the way he keeps on snickering and speaking in a tone of normal volume instead of a whisper, you’re sure he’d wake them up instantly.
his grin grows slightly bigger as you keep him standing and proceed to take his shirt off because you know that he sleeps without one — it’s knowledge that makes you feel kind of funny inside, being his stepsister and all that. by the time the shirt hits the floor and your fingers reach lower to unbuckle his belt so that you can help him out of his pants, he’s outright beaming with nothing short of arrogant delight as he straightens to his full height again.
truth be told, you don’t know why you continue to act so nice towards him when he’s been nothing but mean to you ever since you told him about the possibility of going out with his friend. he’s made it quite clear that he doesn’t approve of it and that he finds you responsible for the entire thing even if naruto had been the one to slide into your DMs first, not you. what’s even worse is that he simply refuses to change his mind about it and doesn’t even want to give you a chance.
and yet despite all of that, you keep being a sweetheart to your big brother because, well, he’s exactly that — your big brother. it’s the reason why you’ve somewhat expected him not to take the news all that well and for him to start acting overprotective over you and judgy over naruto. after all, it’s what a big brother does. right…?
what a big brother doesn’t do, however, is get all up into your personal space while tugging on the hem of your shirt, saying that it’s ‘your turn’ to take it off now. what he doesn’t do is smirk and laugh this quiet, rude snicker as you place your hands on his chest to lightly push him onto the bed when he gets too close for comfort. what he doesn’t do is grab you by the wrist and drag you into bed with him when you try to leave after tucking him in.
his skin is so hot that it makes you feel like you’re burning under the covers as he holds you close, too close. you’re chest to chest, his broad palm is on your back, fisting your t-shirt, and his legs are entangled with yours. he’s dressed in nothing else but his underwear and he keeps on talking nonsense; slurring on his words about something along the lines of how you shouldn’t leave him for ‘that stupid fuckin’ loser’ who wouldn’t even know how to properly take care of you, that you have everything you need right here — can’t you see that?
you don’t expect him to kiss you while he’s in the middle of telling you off, but it happens anyway. maybe it’s because you’re nose to nose, and the room is dark and the hour is late, and you’re looking at him with that innocently sweet look in your eyes that he’s always found so fucking hard to resist, but either way; it happens so out of the blue, the kiss.
does it, though…? no, not really, you suppose. you’ve both been acting quite improperly around each other for quite some time now, leaving little hints here and there and looking at each other for too long as you grow older, so it was bound to happen at one point or another. you’re just glad that it happened while the house was empty.
it’s why you let him continue… as well as for other reasons.
his lips are soft and warm against your own, just like they’ve always been whenever he’d kissed you on the cheek in the past. he pushes his tongue inside your mouth the second you let out a little gasp of surprise and you can immediately taste the liquor that laces his spit — it’s what’s to blame for why he’s kissing you in the first place.
eventually, you start to writhe against each other as things grow hotter and instinct takes over. he touches you all over and your heart is beating so fast the entire time that you feel like it’ll explode inside your chest at any given moment.
it practically starts to rattle behind your teeth by the time his hand slides into your panties. he’s so drunk that his movements are clumsy and sloppy as hell as he spreads your pussy lips apart slightly and smears your arousal all over, but you’re so thrilled by all the risk and by having his cock in your own hand, that you hardly even notice.
minutes pass, more clothes come off. before you know it, he’s somehow managed to get on top of you and is sucking on your tits and stuffing you full with his thick fingers. you’re so wet that he can barely hide his smile as his tongue circles your nipple and his teeth nip at your skin. his digits keep on sliding back in so fucking easy, causing your hole to flutter around them, and you’re whimpering and whining in response, voicing these cute little sounds that make his cock twitch.
you’re both so horny for one another that you feel like you’re going to drop dead. all these feelings that you’ve been repressing for each other are rushing to the surface now and neither of you knows how to tame them.
“see?” he keeps on saying, the drawl in his voice as prominent as ever because of the booze that’s still coursing in his system. “told ya i could handle you better, sis… doesn’t this feel so fuckin’ nice, mm?”
the jealousy makes him want to prove a point so bad — it licks his skin with white-hot fire. god, as he looks at you, breathing so hard and mewling for him like a little kitty, he wants to beat the crap out of anyone who’d try to steal you away from him. it’s just the guard dog in him. he’s as possessive as they get.
so he supports himself above you with the help of one arm so that he can look at you, and you don’t miss the way the muscle flexes with the action as his fingers dig into the pillow. don’t miss the way your big brother’s pretty brown eyes are so full of longing for you that it makes his pupils grow triple the size.
he’s looking at you like you’re his dream girl, not his sister. it’s the reason why he says,
“i can fuck you better too, if you’ll let me… c’mooon, don’t pretend like you don’t wanna sit on your big brother’s cock. it’ll be so much fun, i promise.”

[Kawaki's mental instability and Boruto's responsibility]
1- The line Kawaki crossed.
Tumblr media
Something always comes up during Kawaki character-related discussions, which is the implication of Kawaki becoming "crazy" due to his attachment to Naruto.
It was first introduced by Amado, who claimed Kawaki's love for Naruto is veering on madness. In case he meant to describe Kawaki's unhealthily obsession in an over-exaggerated manner, it fits but not really.
Amado was wrong, mostly projecting his own craziness about his daughter on Kawaki. After all, someone who abandons his daughter's needed treatment because he could recreate her is not a sane person to begin with.
Let's take Kawaki back prior to Momoshiki's third takeover.
He was exactly in the same situation he is in now but worse: Code was out there vengeful same as now, Boruto was a real threat who'd turn into an Otsutsuki soon and on top of that nobody had any powers to stop either of them.
On a light note, Kawaki was clinically depressed, anxious to say the least. He suffered a mental setback as a result; nightmares, mode swings, compulsive self-deprecating.. Etc.
Yet, not once, not in a single fleeting panel, not even in his thoughts he considered the idea of Boruto dying for the purpose of getting ride of Momoshiki.
The opposite, he was afraid for him. He didn't want Boruto to die enough to suggest implanting Karma (the thing he hates most) on Code to save him (which also served as a way to protect Naruto but it was for Boruto's sake mostly).
Tumblr media Tumblr media
When it came down to fighting Code, he couldn't take the risk. He believed Boruto would die and asked him to leave the battle-field asap even though Boruto dying to Code is one threat down.
Boruto was always a threat, Kawaki knew it. He fought Momoshiki before and cautioned Boruto about it to his face but he didn't and couldn't acknowledge the implication of what that means.
Boruto being a threat was a reality Kawaki didn't want to face, much like his need for Karma.
When Momoshiki took over at the end of Isshiki's arc, Kawaki couldn't accept Boruto was gone even when he actually was at that time.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
He kept full high on denial unlike Sasuke and Naruto, he'd look at Momoshiki and see Boruto solely in there.
They were separate entities in his head until Code's battle forced him to accept the bitter truth.
Shikamaru made a point of Kawaki not hesitating to kill a comrade, which he saw as an issue born from his unhealthy obsession with Naruto, that it made him mentally unstable.
He is not completely wrong, Kawaki's fear of losing Naruto is so strong, it triggers panic attacks and emotional breakdowns. But that didn't drive him crazy, it drove him to be self-sacrificial.
Before the Code battle, Naruto basically showered him with affection and assurances but Kawaki's conclusion wasn't to get Karma back & kill Boruto/Code to keep Naruto safe.
His answer was to kill himself so they could all live.
Tumblr media
The point I'm making; Kawaki's mental instability/madness wasn't born out of Kawaki's attachment to Naruto itself. He didn't go around promising death on anyone who might or will be a threat to Naruto regardless of how much he himself loves them.
What really drove him crazy was this:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
狂ってなきゃできねえんだよ兄弟殺しなんてよ
Kuruttenakya dekinē nda yo kyōdai koroshi nante yo
Viz screwed up the line. It's whole meaning was lost.
Quick JP lesson:
Kurutte : Going/becoming crazy/mad.
nakya: Have to.
dekinē nda yo: Can't/unable to.
kyōdai koroshi: killing a brother.
nante: Something like/ such as.
The "yo" is just for emphasizes.
So the full line will be "[You/I] have to go crazy or [you/I] won't be able to do it. Something like killing [your/my] brother."
Why Japanese don't have pronounces?
Kawaki is a very self-aware person. He sat there and shamelessly admitted the most embarrassing things about how he sees himself and what Naruto is to him, but what he associated with craziness- what he had to force himself to go crazy for; wasn't Naruto.
It was killing his Brother.
Experts say there had been cases where patients ended up being clinically crazy or depressed because they forced themselves to pretend to be those things.
Under the dire circumstances, Kawaki was forced to instantly accept Boruto needs to die.
He didn't process this decision, unlike Naruto/Shikamaru, he wasn't on the sidelines.
He had a split second to decide, and another to act on it.
The hesitation Shikamaru searched for in Kawaki's demeanor when he killed Boruto wasn't there because he didn't process his emotions, he gave priority to understanding the stakes.
"It's a do or die now"
And the opposite of processing your emotions, is shutting them out.
If Kawaki didn't stomp on his emotions, he wouldn't have been able to do it.
He didn't have the luxury to in fact, as nobody else there would've taken the burden.
So he took this responsibility upon himself, willingly sacrificing his sanity to succeed.
In other words, killing Boruto was like crossing a line.
Boruto got to come back from it, mentally unscathed, Kawaki didn't.
2- The burden of being Boruto's brother, Kawaki's responsibility.
For all Boruto's gifts, emotional intelligence wasn't one of those.
From the very first arc of the manga up until his resolution in ch80, Boruto suffered a consistent flaw of misjudging people based on his personal impression of them. He doesn't strive to get a better understanding of someone.
If he forms an idea of somebody, he doesn't budge unti he's forced to.
Examples:
Believing Naruto was a useless good for nothing despite everybody's attempt to make him understand.
Painting Tento as an insufferable brat without realizing how much they had in common.
Assuming a stranger like Ao was a good man based on 1 conversation, little did he know..
Defined Kawaki's whole existence based on his first impression of him (more on this later).
What I get from this is Boruto loves to be certain and right. He hates being in the gray area where he doesn't know what he thinks of someone or what his thoughts are about something.
He hates doubt, unsureness.
It's a flaw that he isn't very self-aware of:
Tumblr media
His first impression of Kawaki is based on an incident he wasn't present when it happened so he had little to no proof yet he was quick to point fingers and fill in the blanks about this new person he just met.
Ripped off a very long Kawaki analysis that never saw the light;
During the first few days the author depicted how estranged and alienated Kawaki was from everyone else on both social and emotional level. This was first shown in the famous vase scene when he broke it accidentally, creating a dispute between him and Boruto.
The narrative purpose of this sub plot is to parallel Kawaki, a self-estranged person, with Boruto who grew up normally and healthily which allowed him to learn and be capable of engaging emotionally with other people and his own feelings.
Contrasting Kawaki’s disengaged state, who knew what he did to Hima’s vase was a mistake as a matter-of-fact but didn’t really connect with Hima’s sadness or get why it was even important, making his apology come of as shallow and diminishing.
Boruto on the other hand didn’t catch on Kawaki’s detachment state and thought he was being intentionally uncaring.
Boruto adoration of Kawaki came as one of those moments where Boruto stands corrected. Except this time Boruto has messed up pretty bad, almost getting his sister killed if it wasn't for Kawaki.
This was the beginning of Boruto's growing dependence on Kawaki. It's not far-fetched to claim their relationship is mostly carried by guilt and reliance on Boruto's part.
Kawaki always came in a clutch for him, be it saving Himawari, saving Naruto & Sasuke, or saving Naruto later on. Boruto (& Momoshiki) would've killed or caused the death of plenty of people many times otherwise.
As a result he developed a sense of dependence and thought he could do anything so long Kawaki was by his side which Kawaki didn't reciprocate.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
In Japanese he basically said "Hurry up and be independent, you mf"
There's always this wedge between them, because Boruto never knew true despair or what being unsafe feels like. All these incidents were mere "big missions" to him, it's how he navigates his path as a Shinobi.
Tumblr media
But for Kawaki, it was about survival. For he knew what irreversible damage is, the things he can't take back, things that can't be repaired.
He doesn't feel safe and motived just because somebody he cares about is around. Be it Naruto or Boruto, not when they are as powerless as he is.
The only reason Kawaki felt safe enough to actually start mentally healing after Delta's fight, was because he thought Naruto could take care of Jigen.
Boruto doesn't understand that. What he views as a "big victory over Momoshiki", the dying part he didn't care about because he was "prepared", it broke Kawaki.
And he let him do it, asked him to, in fact. Then tried to paint it as a proof of their brotherhood, the highlight of their bond as it's so strong and special, he can even ask Kawaki to kill him, you see?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
That, "he did it cuz we are bros".
Boruto couldn't be more wrong.
It wasn't about him. Kawaki would've killed anybody who threatens Naruto's life, that person being his brother merely drove him unhinged.
Boruto thought they were in this together, that part was correct at first. Kawaki kept his promise to him and took the burden of fulfilling it.
Sacrificing his sanity, his life in the village and his relationship with Naruto.
None of those consequences crossed Boruto's mind. He's comfortable knowing Kawaki or Sasuke would deal with Momoshiki if he came out, all he has to do is die which is not a big deal for him as he sees honor in Shinobi death.
Kawaki shouldn't have been "the only person he could ask him to do it" but the last one, if Boruto understood what being in Kawaki's place means.
3- The burden of being Kawaki's brother, Boruto's responsibility.
Of all the people Boruto misjudged, Kawaki remained the only one Boruto couldn't get a grasp of. Even when he comes so close to figuring him out, there is always something missing; Experience.
For instance, he understands Naruto means a lot to Kawaki but never why. Therefore he can't comprehend the actions Kawaki takes to keep him safe.
He doesn't know what it feels like living years of nothingness, then someone gives something to you.
Same goes for Kawaki's self-blaming, self-destructive behavior.
Regardless, Boruto spared no effort to help Kawaki.
It was him who compromised first to begin with, claiming him as a brother without expecting Kawaki to change himself, or have anything in return.
He made a promise to him to help him defeat his abuser.
He gave him his headband to make him feel included and one of them.
Having a loved one who suffers from mental disorders is a burden, you always have to put extra effort you put in dealing with a healthy person.
Boruto never gave up on him even when Kawaki stepped out of line during the training scene, or trying to sacrifice himself despite how Naruto would feel about it.
He stuck to his side and didn't budge.
But he was unable to see the world from Kawaki's perspective which created a disconnection between how they feel about that incident.
Boruto seemed to go about his life, naive enough to believe it changed nothing.
For Kawaki, his mental stability took a great hit- at some point he even forgot what he was supposed to do; protect Naruto and the village via his Otsutsuki acquired powers because they'd have an early death otherwise. Yet he imposed that fate on Sarada with his own hand.
A visualized proof of Shikamaru's warning to Sarada before she disobeyed him and left, that Kawaki was basically crazy at the moment.
He couldn't think straight, operating solely on what he deemed "facts" rather than how he felt.
His breakdown in front of Eida showcased a great deal of emotional blockage.
An emotional blockage is activated in certain situations to cushion the impact of a negative situation or event that can be very painful for us.
His thought process devolved from facts, to bargaining to an emotional blow.
Despite his resolve to protect Naruto at all costs - including killing Boruto - he never came in terms with Boruto's death up until after Omnipotence.
Boruto's responsibility:
From his point of view, he was the one who cornered Kawaki to cross all lines.
In a way, he was.
Boruto himself didn't commit any wrongdoings, he is not to blame for Momoshiki's rampages but he is the carrier, even though he didn't choose to be.
But realistically, if you were carrying a certain illness that potentially could destroy everyone around you but you adamantly chose to live, wouldn't you be responsible if somebody got hurt because of that?
Boruto reached two realizations in ch80.
Tumblr media
1- He lost his brother who in turn lost himself as well, because he was too weak and dependant on him. He threw the burden of dealing with Momoshiki on Kawaki, allowing him to be a brother killer which drove Kawaki insane.
It was too much to ask, after all it's Kawaki who's going to have to kill/stop him again in the future which Boruto realized it was meant to happen if he didn't do something.
Despite Boruto's initial confidence of being in control, Momoshiki took over anyways and he almost lost to him completely if Sasuke didn't save him.
It was like a reality-check for him.
2- If he wants to live, he needs to deal with his own problem. Get stronger and rectify things himself for a change. Otherwise he could just die and end it all, or continue to burden Kawaki and the others which did nobody any good.
From the angle Boruto sees this whole situation, he lost nothing except Kawaki.
So the cheerful mindset that always naively over-simplified dire situations as big missions, refuses to see the current situation as anything but a setback.
Because he experienced loss this time, his brother, and he couldn't accept that.

I can get a headcanon of how Itachi, Kakashi, Neji, Shikamaru and Sasuke would react to learning that their partner is a witch (can talk to spirits, see the past, future and summon spirits). If they are too many then only the first 3 and that S/O is female, thank you very much ❤
hey, nonnie, thank you for the request! Playing around with the witch concept was a lot of fun, so I do hope you like the following headcanons :)
hc: Itachi, Kakashi, Neji, Shikamaru and Sasuke learning that their s/o is a witch
Word Count: 2k
Tumblr media
Itachi
let’s assume first that you, too, are a member of Akatsuki
while Itachi did respect you as a new member of the organization, at first, he didn’t know the reason why you joined
you and your abilities were so enigmatic, he didn’t know anything about either
at one point, the two of you began growing closer and eventually even started a romantic relationship
that is also when the two of you teamed up for a few missions for Akatsuki
Itachi first saw a hint of your abilities when it was time for the two of you to stop Team Kakashi & Chiyo from getting to Gaara
for a reason he couldn’t explain, you could foresee all of Kakashi’s movements and dodged them perfectly
he himself could do this quite well, but only due to his Sharingan, which you obviously didn’t have
the real kicker was when you summoned a spirit to act as a child from Naruto’s rasengan
Itachi’s clone was really confused, he had never seen an ability such as yours before
at the same time, it did finally make sense why the leader of Akatsuki had insisted upon him using a clone to trick the Konoha Shinobi, but also insisting that your real self would accompany said clone
upon arriving back in the Akatsuki hideout, there were a lot of questions running through his mind, alongside a lot of answers to them
the easiest thing was to confront you, really
when you told him everything, he listened intently and connected the dots
everything made sense to him now, despite his initial confusion
Itachi always knew that you could defend yourself, but now he doubted that even less
one question would always remain on his mind, however, could you see his death coming? did you know about his illness? would his little brother Sasuke be the one to kill him?
in the end, he would never get to ask that
Kakashi
you didn’t mean to reveal your identity as a witch to him like that, it just happened
you really couldn’t have chosen a worse moment, looking back on it
after a long time of dating, Kakashi finally opened up to you about his childhood and his past
while he sometimes had begun talking about it, he often cut himself off and then promised to tell you later
so you thought it was an important moment and milestone in your relationship, a show that he trusted you
so your mind was solely focused on his past, which you kind of already knew (not that you would mention that to him)
of course, you were well aware of the rumors and murmurs running through Konoha, about how he was supposedly a ‘friend-killer’ and a cold person
but you also knew things only Kakashi should know, such as things about his relationship with his father and how he dealt with the death of the man
you shouldn’t know such private things about him before he told you them, but you found them out with your abilities by accident
one of the times he cut himself off, his past got unraveled to you, unbeknownst to him and ever since that you’ve felt very guilty about that
so now that Kakashi was going to tell you himself, all you had to do was pretend to not know this already and act surprised, and then of course comfort him if needed
and everything goes right at first, you do your part as the doting partner and are there for him when necessary
that is until he tells you something, and you blurt out “I know”
Kakashi is just so confused by that point, poor him because what do you mean? You know?? huh
you are just panicking by now because you did not mean for that to slip out, and now you have to tell him everything
at first, he is upset about that invasion of privacy, understandably so
you then go ahead and explain to him how it had been an accident and you didn’t mean to, that you didn’t want to find that out about him like that, but rather through him when he decided to tell you
the two of you do manage to talk everything out, but it does take time to rebuild that trust
and you do need to give Kakashi that time to fully trust you again, because while he does know that it had been an accident, he sometimes still has his qualms you need to respect
after some time, however, your relationship is as strong as ever, as long as you respect his privacy with your witch abilities, that is
Neji
the first time you showed a hint of your power to Neji was when you told him to fight against what he considered to be his fate, that he shouldn’t allow it to be predetermined
somewhat, you reminded him of Naruto during the Chuunin exams
this time around, however, he was a bit more open to listen
you are his partner, after all, you only want the best for him, which meant that you bothered him time and time again, so he would just listen to you
just before the beginning of the Fourth Shinobi war, you know that he is going to die soon due to his predetermined fate
you wouldn’t let him, however
because why would you allow your significant other to die?
your last resort was telling him about your powers, about what you are able to do
you tell him everything, and I mean everything, all at once
it does overwhelm him, especially when you tell him he is going to die soon
Neji had been confronted with death often enough already, but his own death?
by this point you were begging him to listen to you and to hear you out
and he does, he does hear you out because if you didn’t mean it, you wouldn’t get hysterical like that
he ends up believing you after you describe his death to him in great detail
he’s also a bit miffed because you didn’t tell him about you being a witch sooner, you kept that a secret from him
Neji does come around again when the two of you are sent to fight in the war, and he makes sure that you both make it out alive
thanks to your premonition, you do
Shikamaru
Shikamaru finding out about your identity as a witch had been an accident
the two of you get assigned a mission together, something about a ghost haunting in an ancient home
you are very confident in completing the mission due to your ability to communicate with spirits, something Shikamaru immediately notices
he doesn’t say anything at first and just keeps an eye on you and your swift change in mood
aside from Naruto, Shikamaru has never seen anyone that delighted to go on a special type of mission, although he would doubt that even the energetic blond would be excited about ghost stories
anyway, so the two of you arrive there to investigate the mystery
and in the beginning, everything does go smoothly
until the two of you arrive at a dead end
while Shikamaru is able to roll off his growing frustration, you, on the other hand, are not and search for another way to get to more information
what you did not consider however had been that Shikamaru did not know that you could talk to spirits, so when you suddenly started talking with nothing, he was bewildered
(for a moment he did think you were going crazy from this mission, but for that he wouldn’t blame you)
and when he asked what you were doing you just froze, like, mid-conversation
as a doe in the Nara forest would stare at him, so did you
while he did think that you looked adorable, he was quite concerned about you not breathing
when you did finally breathe again, his first question was to ask what you were doing, because obviously, he still did not know about you being able to talk to spirits
Shikamaru could only nod along as you explained your powers and abilities to him, and how they worked
at first, he was unsure of what to say but did listen intently, making sure not to miss a detail
and then, as though nothing major happened, he asked what the spirit from before told you
as fireworks lit up the sky, so did your smile as you began to tell him all about what the spirit said
and the two of you completed the mission successfully, it couldn’t have gone better, really
of course neither of you go ahead and inform the Hokage of how you solved the mission, but you do write a promising mission report
let’s just say it is a secret that remains between the two of you and the two of you only
he keeps it with his life, just as he plans on keeping you in his life
Sasuke
for this, I imagine you being part of Team Taka, a rogue ninja from a village other than Konoha
you joined Sasuke’s team alongside Karin, since you also were one of the Ninja taking care of his hideouts
Sasuke thought, based on how highly Orochimaru sometimes spoke of you and how much the snake man wanted you to stay in a hideout, you must either be really important or strong
when it was time to escape, you went along with Sasuke, viewing him to be the better option in comparison to Orochimaru
as part of Team Taka, you never really did reveal your abilities as a witch
maybe it was the fear of being used just like Orochimaru used you, or it was something else holding you back
that was all at least until Sasuke decided to storm the Gokage meeting and go after the not-inaugurated Hokage, Danzo
for the self-appointed mission, both you and Karin had come along to help Sasuke enact revenge on the man
once you do arrive at the bridge in the Land of Grass, everything just seems to get out of hand and go wrong
you’re really surprised once this Konoha girl comes along and tries to kill Sasuke and then Sasuke almost kills Karin in return
what you should have expected, but didn’t, was that Danzo would also use you as a tool to get to Sasuke
your last solution to this had been to summon a spirit to protect you, acting as a shield for your safety
while that meant that you were now safe, it also meant that Sasuke just learned something new about you, a revelation
it had also been you who warned him about his old Team from Konoha appearing, his sensei and his old teammate, and Tobi from Akatsuki
even more surprised for him, you could say
so it had been no wonder that once you reached safety, Sasuke questioned you all about your abilities and your identity
and with questioned, I mean it was almost like an interrogation
you had no choice but to tell him, or otherwise, you would no longer be part of Team Taka
it was a no-brainer for you to tell him everything, down to the last detail
lying to him or hiding any details from him would be very stupid of you, so you knew
it isn’t until after the war that Sasuke realizes how he used your abilities for his own success
in his own way and pace, he comes along to apologize to you
in the end, how the reveal affects your relationship is up to you, and your reaction to his apology
Sasuke isn’t selfish, you knew that when you first met him, but during the times of Team Taka he was very revenge focused and oriented
but then again, your abilities as a witch may be powerful, but that does not mean that they are endless and don’t drain you, because they impact you as a person too
so, again, it is up to you how your relationship turns out

Action Speaks (NaruSasu)
Rating: T
AO3
This was inspired by Cult of the Lamb
"I hate you." He hissed, cracking an egg open. Naruto had his arms wrapped around Sasuke's waist, chin resting on Sasuke's shoulder. Swaying together. Sasuke despises it. "I'm fine with that."
_____
Laying in the grass, Sasuke stares up at the sky.
The sun is bright, the air is soft, and this morning his pregnancy was confirmed.
He's tired.
He didn't expect his life to be like this. It's too peaceful, and the community is too involved in each other's lives. A woman named, Sakura, she is apparently Naruto's first friend, and she was excited to get to know Sasuke.
Now that his powers were sealed away, went unsaid.
He used to be a God. Wings on his back, a domain to control and minions to do his bidding that Naruto thwarted one after another.
He was tired of controlling his domain and wanted more after doing the same thing day in and day out. He didn't think much of Naruto. They exchanged words a few times before on many occasions before their final battle over the waterfalls. Naruto was a human with magic tricks. He shouldn't have won. The only thing he was happy about is he took the man's arm from him in the final moment of him sealing Sasuke's powers away. Before his tail dissolved fully, he was able to catch Naruto off guard by using his sharpen tip to slice it right off.
A week later, when he woke up, he had a moon mark tattooed on his hand, and Naruto was next to him smiling as if they haven't been mortal enemies for over a decade.
Sasuke remembers trying to set the bed on fire, and realizing to his horror he had been weakened.
No powers.
No wings.
Nothing, but an idiot that was forcing him to be his own personal housewife. Sasuke refused to clean, which Naruto didn't mind, but Sasuke was made to cook. Naruto would hold his hand tight when they went grocery shopping in the market.
The people always stopped them to talk. The council, and Naruto's trusted companions knew his true nature, yet the townspeople were left in the dark. Naruto was the Hero.
It pissed him off even worse when he met the woman who gave Naruto his arm. She smirked at him, and told Naruto to bring him in for a checkup.
He couldn't run from Naruto's hold when they were out in public, only letting Sasuke go when they were back on his land where it was warded with sigils.
"I hate you." He hissed, cracking an egg open. Naruto had his arms wrapped around Sasuke's waist, chin resting on Sasuke's shoulder. Swaying together.
Sasuke despises it.
"I'm fine with that."
"I will poison you."
"I'm immune to poisons. Especially those that come from earth which is all you have access to." Naruto blew a raspberry into Sasuke's neck, causing Sasuke to drop his next egg.
He tried to move from Naruto's arms. "Do not lay your spit on me."
Naruto held on. "You are mine, but I can be persuaded to put my spit elsewhere." He raspberries his neck again.
Sasuke was effective the next time, stopping on Naruto's foot. The hold loosened and Sasuke slipped out. "Pathetic." He said with a piercing look at Naruto.
"I'm not the pathetic one." Naruto reminded.
Sasuke's nose twitched in annoyance. "I am aware of my place, Hero. You could have killed me."
Naruto kneeled on the floor to wipe the yolk up. "I do not kill."
Sasuke finds Naruto's way of life dull. In his domain, they killed, and nothing was thought more of it. You lose a battle, you die.
"Living with you is humiliating." He wishes he could fly from here. "I do not know how my domain is doing? If my brother is alive or if someone else had taken over."
With the last bit of shell picked up and thrown in the trash. Naruto washes his hands. "Not my problem. You should have never come to the surface world in the first place." Naruto smiles before sticking his tongue out at Sasuke.
Sasuke seethes. "I no longer wish to be here. I no longer have powers. I would rather try and make it on my own in the barren wastelands."
Naruto laughs. "No. You are my partner. My spouse in the eyes of the people I serve, and on paper with the documents the council forged for me when I told them I wouldn't kill you."
Sasuke's face was filled with disgust. "Spouse?"
Sasuke remembers that day, when Naruto explained what a spouse was, and the dread in his stomach when he realized why he continued to mount Sasuke at night.
In his domain, mounting only happened when a person declined a battle. When disrespect happened, either they fought, or there was a public submission.
He didn't know humans had other reasons for mounting.
Their domain naturally produced new individuals from the soil when it felt the population was low.
"Sasuke!" Sasuke sits up from the grass. Coming out of his daydream.
Naruto's sweating, a headband keeping his hair out of his face, and gloves. "I'm home!" His arms wide open, presenting himself to Sasuke's blank face.
"Yay." He says dryly. "Woo." He says even drier, if possible. A small fist pump. "Is that good?"
Naruto throws his head back with laughter, hands to stomach.
Sasuke's upset that he can't stop himself from smirking.
Naruto drops to his knees, crawling over to Sasuke, laying his head on Sasuke's lap. "Hi."
Sasuke exhales, then rolls his eyes with a fun twinkle in his eye. "Hi, human."
He pressed his cheek to Sasuke's stomach. "Heard you're pregnant. Think it'll be a demi-god?"
Sasuke frowns. "I do not know, Naruto. It would be hard if so, and I don't have my powers to take care of them while you are away."
Naruto bops his nose with his pointer finger. "Don't frown. I'll figure it out."
Sasuke doesn't know if he believes him.
Naruto takes his gloves off.
_____
The baby comes out with wings on their back, and blonde hair. Screeching until it is placed in Sasuke's arms to lay upon his chest. Syncing their heartbeats together.
They are in Tsunade's clinic, she is off to the side talking to a nurse. Naruto is crying.
"You're ugly." Sasuke says. "Do you want to hold it?"
"It is a girl." Tsunade speaks up, looking over notes.
"Girl." Naruto sniffs next to them. He has a grip on the bars of the bed. "Tsunade, we have to tell Jiraiya I have a girl."
"Un huh."
"Do you wanna hold it or not?" Sasuke's annoyed. His hole aches, and he'll stab Naruto if the hero attempts to mount him anytime soon.
"It's a girl, Sasuke." He stomps his foot with a pout before making grabby hands at the baby. Sasuke hands her over.
Exhaustion soon takes over after that.
They hide the baby's wing as best as they can when the grannies start to swarm their home. Giving advice, food, and clothes.
His feelings about not having his powers are proven true when Tooru feeds on Sasuke's blood more than the baby formula that Naruto tries to get her to drink.
He's exhausted from the blood loss. Even Naruto tried to give her some of his blood but she refused it, wailing until Sasuke awoke from his nap to feed her. Luckily she only needs to be fed once a day but she drinks a lot when the action occurs.
"You need to fix this, Hero." He spits out one night. Tooru is sleeping, the grannies are gone and Naruto is healing his recent puncture wound around his nipple. Sasuke is sitting on the bathroom counter with Naruto between his legs.
"Maybe we need to keep trying with the formula. Or until she gets into solids."
"We do not know how long this will last! This form is weak. You impregnate me, figure this out or I will die from blood loss."
"We can give you more red meat. That'll help." Naruto tries. Sasuke is healed now, he presses their chest together, he drags his nails lightly across Sasuke's lower back. "I can share my blood with you." He kisses Sasuke.
Sasuke doesn't kiss back. "Can't you crack the seal a little bit? Just so I can use some of my powers."
"No."
Sasuke clenches his jaw. "I hate you."
Naruto kisses him again. "I know, but trust me. You'll be happy. This will pass."
"When you finally die on one of your little crusades, I will dance on your grave with Tooru." He kisses back. He takes hold of Naruto's head, deepening the kiss.
"My death turns you on?" Naruto smiles.
"My domestication arouses you, Hero?"
Naruto moans, he takes his shirt off. "You have no idea."

The true reason why Itachi was right/justified - The best answer
https://youtu.be/9vxHV5mg6JM - This is a video I also made on the subject that breaks it down even further and explains my points much more easily and I'd appreciate it if you watched and gave me some feed back on not only my argument but video production as well
BUT for the reddit short version. A few days ago I made a post that seemed to take off in the sub about Itachi and it didn't have anything to do with whether he was right or wrong in his decision in massacring his clan but unsurprisingly that's what it led to and the opinions like always are very mixed but people have extremely poor arguments on both sides and more often than not let their own world view and emotions come into their decision making when it should in fact be viewed from the not only the world the Naruto universe is, mainly Konoha, but also their world as a whole, also who Itachi and why he holds the views he does and ultimately why he did what he did that night.
There's this misconception that Itachi is stupid or that he made the wrong choice because he's blood related to his clan, that the clan is his family and no matter what the result is that he should stand with them and fight against Konoha and even worse there are people who believe that the Uchiha clan can even win that battle in the first place. First and foremost, even if Uchiha had a chance to rebel they would get completely annihilated by the rest of Konoha shinobi, there's just too much riding against them but that's not to say that Konoha wouldn't have taken any major damage to Konoha and their forces; facing the Uchiha clan would definitely be an hard battle but in the end they are one clan vs many other clans such as Hyuga, Aburame, Akimichi, Nara, etc and other notable shinobi from Konoha such as Kakashi, a Younger Hiruzen, Danzo, Guy, Asuma, Kurenai, etc; they're not winning that battle and it's foolish to think otherwise.
That's not the main point but that plays into the next point. It's not about winning the battle against Konoha for Itachi, It's about the damage and domino effect it would cause. As said in the story a civil war of that magnitude breaking out in the leaf would surely cause severe damage and a great amount of casualties to not only the leaf but non shinobi as well. That damage would be a cause for concern because other nations would take advantage of the instability within the Konoha and attack, potentially destroying Konoha entirely and that's a high possibility especially when you look at relations of other villages with Konoha, especially the Cloud Village who are almost rivaling Konoha in power and to add on to that Konoha and Cloud didn't have the best relations during the time frame pre-4th great shinobi war; considering they tried to kidnap Kushina and Hinata. During the Kidnapping of Hinata, her father actually killed the Cloud ninja which resulted in his brother sacrificing himself, so to say their relations weren't great would be an understatement.
Itachi also adopted the will of fire and being a part of the anbu held it to a deeper extent but he also craved for peace among all else in his village because of the 3rd great shinobi war he was exposed to at the age of 4. He never wanted to experience anything like that again, especially within his village, that could lead to an even greater conflict and war. Itachi loved his family but he also loved his village, the village is also Itachi's family, remembering Hiruzen said Itachi thought like a Hokage at the age of 7 and that's the Hokage's mentality. The Hokage also possess the will of fire being the leader of their village it's unsurprising.
What is the will of fire? The Will of Fire is the notion that one must sacrifice and endure, that's what it means to be a shinobi, and sacrifice no matter what it is, if it leads to the greater good of the village then it was worth. That is the Will of Fire . As Hashirama said after killing Madara he's willing to kill his friend, family and even his own child if it's for the greater good of the village. This is literally Itachi's mindset. He loves his family dearly and he also loves his village but he knows that the village is more than his family. The village is his family as well and a larger portion at that. The Hokage looks at the entire village as their family, there are several references to Itachi being Hokage like, by Hiruzen, Danzo, Hashirama, and Sasuke. Remember what Minato said (also an Hokage) "To forsake one's country and one's village is the same as forsaking one's child", He says this to a dying Kushina about Naruto after sacrificing his son's upbringing for what? THE VILLAGE.
It's because of Itachi's experiences that he is this way and being in the anbu made him adopt it the Will of Fire to a further extent, as we know the anbu pretty much radicalize the Will of Fire to the most extreme level and are willing to do ANYTHING for the village, especially the anbu that take orders from who? You guessed it. DANZO. Who gave Itachi that choice? DANZO. Danzo knew Itachi's heart, while he spoke to Itachi in a manipulative tone, everything Danzo said was in fact true. and his actions are justified because there's are the actions a shinobi is supposed to take. Starting from the very first Hokage. This is why he is praised by Hashirama for being a better shinobi than him. This is how the Naruto world is and how it this question should be looked at.
Thank you for coming to my ted talk.
youtube
I got even more in depth in my video and actually touch on the themes of morality and ethics and this is all from the view of the Naruto universe and not our own. I feel like it's the best explanation of Itachi because there's no personal biases and just straight facts, but as always when it comes to such a topic, I know answers vary but Im ready and willing to argue any point.

hi!! have u ever entertained the idea of yander sasuke for sasusaku? cause there's probs some clan bullshit that makes him think it's acceptable as sakuras losing her shit over a dead body lmao.
Have I read it? Yes. Have I written anything for it? That is up to your interpretation. Closest would probably be this post here.
The Uchiah's are known to sorta loose it after the loss of a loved one, and I can see it extending from the loved one leaving to the loved one dying. So I just imagine young Sasuke tossing all morals out the window when it comes to the last people he loves cares about.
So yeah I can totally see it, especially in the beginning. Sasuke keeps a tight leash on it at first because hello, they gotta kill Itachi.
Then he gets assigned to Team 7 and has to listen to Kakashi make his speeches about comrades, and teamwork. He starts spending more time around Naruto and Sakura.
He almost dies in the Land of Waves, and oh. Oh no. Does he care about his teammates? Is he starting to love them?
The others are used to him being quiet, so they don't think much of it on the way home. Meanwhile Sasuke is analyzing every single interaction he has had between Naruto and Sakura.
Right away, he can identify what he is beginning to feel towards Naruto. They are similar feelings he felt for Itachi. The feelings for Sakura were new to him. It felt like light after being in the darkness for so long. Sasuke found he rather liked that light and refused to see it extinguished.
When they get back to the village Sasuke starts keeping a closer eye on Sakura. More often enough shadowing her without her knowledge.
It's made even worse once Orochimaru gives him the curse mark. All his darker thoughts are coming to the surface. At that point, boy needs all the brain bleach to help him.
Those sound ninjas dared to try to snuff out Sakura's light. To leave Sasuke alone again in the darkness. Very well then, Sasuke will gladly leave them in darkness instead.
Things don't go exactly as planned, but Sasuke is content for the moment. Those sound ninjas are gone, and Sakura needs him more currently.
Things get really complicated after the Sand villages invasion of the Leaf village. Sakura got hurt because of him, and Naruto was the one to save her. Sasuke found himself in his own way clingy to Sakura. On missions, he often makes sure they're the ones paired up. During training, she is almost always in eye view. Sasuke will never admit this, but at night, he has started watching over her. Her balcony is satisfactory for him to sleep as long as he can make sure she doesn't get hurt. He's always gone before she wakes.
His relationship with Naruto started to become messy. Sasuke already had plans to kill one brother, he will not hesitate to kill another so long as kept Sakura's light.

Why do writers always make Sasuke so mean to Itachi (in none massacre AUs/modern AUs) . Like borderline hateful. The only reason Sasuke has ever been hateful towards Itachi has always been because of the massacre. Outside of that the worst way Sasuke has ever acted towards Itachi is anger for lying.
Itachi’s main fault towards Sasuke has always been how he shuts Sasuke out in attempts to bear all the weight alone so Sasuke doesn’t have to deal with any of it. Not realizing that shutting Sasuke out is what pushes Sasuke away from him in the first place. Away from this loving, sweet little brother who’s only ever wanted his big brothers attention to this stoic, silent, overly logical person who rejects emotions and companionship because that’s what he learned from Itachi and, to an extension, Fugaku.
Fugaku himself has never been a bad father. Just an incredibly flawed one who gets distracted by his own ideals. But push comes to shove, he loves his children and would accept their choices. The way he did Itachi’s.
So Sasuke wouldn’t be mean to Itachi. Or at least not any worse than the way a little brother would be towards their older sibling. The worst way he can act when it’s come to Itachi is silent stoicism. That’s the real rejection that would hurt Itachi’s feelings. To realize that in his attempt to be a good brother he made an extreme choice that became a double edged sword. Itachi said it himself to Sasuke before his edo tensei disappeared. He regretted not letting Sasuke in. He regretted not letting himself share the burden so they could work together and become closer instead of having it tear them apart.
At the end of the day these two boys love each other dearly and it makes no sense to have Sasuke be so mean and angry all the time towards Itachi. He wouldn’t see Itachi as a nuisance. He wouldn’t just randomly insult Itachi left and right. So why does everyone always make Sasuke so mean or Itachi so condescending.
Also I think more than anything, Naruto would be good at giving Sasuke an insight towards Itachi’s choices. As oblivious as he can be sometimes, he’s always been good at understanding people. Also as someone who also has a tendency of wanting to bear struggles alone, he’d understand why Itachi would feel and make the choices he does. I think that’s also another potential gem that people don’t explore. How similar Itachi and Naruto are.
Not just in how much they love Sasuke and would do anything for him. But also how good and kind they are. How at the core of their soul, there are very few things they want more than peace and happiness for the people they love, even if it means sacrificing themselves for it. How both of them have a tendency of trying to bear everything alone. The difference is that Naruto was surrounded by people who wouldn’t let him carry that weight alone while Itachi was backed into a corner (by Danzo’s manipulation mostly) into thinking that he has no other choice than to do it alone. The best author I’ve read when it comes to writing the brothers dynamic has been ‘Sasunarufan13’. If you want to check out some of their work. ‘You are worth everything’ and ‘The long run’ being 2 of my favorites.

One thing that really grinds my shit about Naruto fanfiction back in the day after that ridiculous plot twist is how the hell can anyone portray Sasuke as a villain in fanfiction? When Sasuke in the Canon story didn't murder innocent people like Itachi did. Sasuke's no saint but most of the people that he had killed were not innocent victims. The worst thing Sasuke did was forgive his brother a mass murdering psychopath who didn't give a damn about the women and children that he helped murder.
Sasuke was wronged was he wrong for wanting to kill everyone in konoha including those that had nothing to do with the massacre? Yes he was but he is a sole survivor of a genocide if anything this is something I can criticize Kishimoto for when it comes to bad writing. Sasuke should have hated Itachi even more after finding out the truth not being a dumbass and wanting to avenge him. Sasuke has stockhold syndrome all because of that dumbass twist that made everyone that heard about Itachi into a dick rider. I didn't always hate Itachi but thanks to that dumbass plot twist anytime he's ever brought up in the story everyone turns into a fucking idiot and acts out of character. People shit on OCS in fanfiction yet Itachi is worse in many ways arguably than any OC considering he has some of the worst traits.
Yeah I may turn off people by voicing my disdain for this character but I don't care all of us have a hot take or an opinion that's not popular generally and this is one of my hot takes.

Sasuke often wondered what other kids his age did, what they did for hobbies, or what they did with their friends. He never got that luxury, whatever they did. He was stuck under his father's supervision 24/7. Couped up in his room, forced to read or study. His father had big plans for him, large expectations ever since he was a child, and his older brother got sick.
Sasuke never saw his brother anymore. The second he was diagnosed, their parents threw him out. Deeming him unworthy of their family name, and a disgrace to the clan. Sasuke hated not having his brother around, but he couldn't do anything until he graduated from highschool and could legally live on his own, under the guise of starting his own company out of state.
He resented his parents for the way they treated him, even more so for how they treated Itachi. Tonight in particular, they pushed way too far.
Sasuke stormed out of the house, slamming the door behind him and running down the sidewalk in the dead of night, tears of frustration streaming down his face. His fathers shouting echoed in the street, but he couldn't care less.
His heart pounded in his chest, his feet carrying him anywhere they could, until he physically couldn't run anymore.
He found himself in front if Naruto's house when he stopped, by coincidence Naruto was on the front porch getting ready to go somewhere.
"Hey, Uchiha. What brings you here late at night?"
Sasuke wiped the tears off his face.
"... Had a fight with my parents..."
Naruto nodded, understanding completely.
It was one of the only things they could bond on, their relationship with their parents. Although their lifestyle was completely different.
They were both from wealthy families, Naruto's just slightly more so because of all of the inheritance from his passed relatives. They both attended the same tutoring, the same private physical education system, and at one point they were doing home-schooling together, until Naruto's parents took a turn for the worse and Fugaku forbade them from seeing each other. On Uchiha property at least.
They were raised like brothers, but Naruto knew it wasn't quite like that. Friends, certainly, but he could never compare to Itachi. He didn't want to, he always felt like an intruder when he had to take up the older brother role for Sasuke, but there were certain circumstances where he'd push it aside.
"I'm going to one of my friend's concerts. I have a plus one, if you'd like to come? Take your mind off it, yknow?"
Sasuke turned his nose up. Concerts were always loud, and typically not the cleanest of environments.
"The lead singer organised to have these earplugs given out to those sensitive to sound, and because I'm special, we get a reserved space. No touching, no fussing around, front row view. How about it?"
Naruto jumped up from the porch, dusting off his black, gothic jeans. Sasuke watched Naruto start to walk off, and slowly, he walked after him. It was his night of rebellion, and Naruto seemed to have high hopes. What could really go wrong?
Sasuke had known Naruto since they were born, they didn't always get along but Naruto never led him down the wrong path. Naruto preferred to do that stuff on his own, Sasuke worried about his friend for that ideology though.
Distance wise, the walk to the stadium the concert was being held at was quite long. But the back and forth chatter and banter made it come much quicker than either of them expected. Naruto was some of the best company you could have around, when he wasn't smoking cigarettes at least.
Naruto led them inside, passing the bouncer with ease because of his "BFF pass", as he called it. The hallway was fairly dim, leading down to a double door with a couple of stands with boxes. Some for tickets to be put in, some for freebie merch, and of course the earplugs Naruto mentioned. Naruto picked the merch out for Sasuke, refusing to show him until after the show.
Sasuke rolled his eyes at his friends behaviour, but accepted it. Taking a pair of the earplugs for safe meassures.
When they walked through the door, Sasuke's eyes widened the whole stadium was filled with waiting fans, almost unable to contain their excitement. Dull, neon coloured lights lit everything except the stage. Naruto ushered Sasuke down the stairs to get to their spot, wasting no time to get him there. A few moments after they stood in their spot, the lights shut off and the room was pitch black
Smoke filtered around the stage, and red spotlights revealed the band members. The two guitarists, the drummer, and finally the lead singer, who was none other than...
"S-Sakura?!"
Sasuke's exclaim was silenced by the cheers of the fans, Naruto had to hold back his laughter from Sasuke's reaction.
Sakura was a girl from one of the "less rich" schools, that often rivalled with Sasuke and Naruto's school in means of sports. Sakura participated in most of the sports events, like Naruto, so it was a common occurrence for her and Sasuke to see each other. They never spoke once, though. Sasuke only knew about her from stories Naruto told him.
This, however, never came up in conversation. Sasuke almost wanted to kill Naruto for keeping something like this, but his eyes were glued to the girl he fell head over heels for months ago.
Sakura paid no mind, preforming with her band, flowing with enthusiasm and energy. Sasuke was so overwhelmed with his feelings, he nearly fainted. Fortunately, he found his chair, allowing himself to calm down just a little.
The concert lasted about two hours, before the lights dimmed, only Sakura in the spotlight. Sakura pulled the mic from the stand and pushed it to the side, holding the mic with both hands before there was a moment of silence. Everyone's eyes were on her, and everyone was waiting with excitement flowing through their veins. She took a deep breath, and let out a loud-
"SHAAANNNNNNNAAAAARRROOOOOOOOO!!!!!!"
The stadium filled with cheers, whistles and screams of joy, Sasuke's heart fluttering at the smirk on Sakura's face.
"Goodnight Konoha!!"
She raised her fist in the air, and the fans followed in suit, before walking off the stage and into the dark.
// End //
For @juisthereforfanfics, hope you didn't mind me turning it into SakuSasu ♥︎♥︎♥︎ and the art for Sakura is here ♥︎

I got an idea but i'm gonna make it quick cause currently brewing a potion of Fuck You for me to drink come tomorrow morning to start pushing out new chapter of FUBAR's next arc
Madatobi, slowburn, Modern!AU, Highschool!AU, i'm about to fuck your shit up if you are, were, or becoming an angry teenager
Story is all told in Mada's POV (maybe with little breaks of Tobirama) and he in his family live in the perfect picket fence household and Mada is a straight-A student, over stressed student body president, really gives off the dad-friend vibe cause he's also a nerd but don't think he's weak for thinking that hanging out with the Naruto-weeb kids during lunch is cool cause he's not afraid to throw hands. On the other hand Hashi, his best friend, his captain of the football team and all about school pride and their childhood friendship is a match made in heaven They promised to be each other's best man at the weddings, probably get stuck in the same nursing home together, that type of childhood best friend.
Except Mada knows that Hashi's homelife isn't that good.
He knows nothing explicit cause his friends keeps him fairly distracted and over the years Mada stopped questioning why he's never invited over at the Senju's house and other subtle signs that shit ain't right.
Another thing to ignore is Tobirama.
Hashirama's younger brother by only a year, a junior in highschool to Mada's senior. The pale senju is one of those feral punk teens that have safetypins pierced up and down his ears, EYELINER, blackpainted fingernails and an attitude like a cactus on fire and emitting poisonous fumes. Really caustic personality, gets in trouble ALOT by the school and Hashi has let it slip once or twice that he's not afraid to act mean at home either. Kinda a depressing kid really, like a shadow no one wants to acknowledge.
Until Madara gets into a situation.
idk for what, all i know is that he needs outside 'illegal' help in order to get out and who is the most 'criminal' person within his reach? Tobirama. So he goes to Tobirama asking for help and after hearing the story Tobirama helps.
The thing is though Madara thought the whole interaction was going to be worse than it was...but...it turns out Tobirama is funny? Really dry, sarcastic, morbid humor and it catches Mada completely off guard and turns out afterwards he realizes...he actually kinda enjoyed hanging out with the emo kid.
So let's have an arc of the usual Highschool!AU tropes where the straight-A student is trying to help the emo kid. the usual "I can fix him!" attitude mixed with the "he's not really that bad" and the "I didn't know you were THIS smart."
Except everytime it's brought up Hashi makes a face like he sucked a sour lemon. tries to kindly warn off Mada like his own brother is a ticking time bomb.
Why?
Stop the musical number, change the lighting and filters and let's take a look at the Senju homelife.
Dad's a cop.
A mom ain't afraid to lash out.
Oh, they'd never hurt their kids or each other cause they're a 'perfect' family (despite having their embarressing second son) but that doesn't mean Daddy don't drink till he passes out and screams at Mom about anything and everything. And Mommy is so nice and smiley until she's hurt and then she lashes out with her tongue in anger, fear, and pain before crying her eyes out like she's the victim.
Tobirama. fucking. hates. being at home.
But he's got two little brothers, Kawa and Ita in Middle and Elementary school, that only has him going up to bat when Daddy turns to yell at his kids so Tobirama stands in the line of fire and shouts back. And when Mommy tries to play both the victim and aggressor card Tobirama still stands and doesn't let her focus on his brothers.
In this; Tobirama is turning out just like their dad. And that's why Hashi can't help but fear and resent his younger brother. But at the same time Hashi is just like their mom, willing to smile and gloss over the abuse, lashing out when something doesn't go their way, and playing the victim card to get out of trouble.
And Madara is stepping a little too close to the landmine for comfort.
It's gonna blow up on him.

Thank you it always annoys me that people shit on Deku for wanting to save shiggy after he saw him being control but don’t give the same criticism to shouto or uraraka if dabi wasn’t his brother he wouldn’t even think of saving him and uraraka saw toga cry (hero don’t kill but they have no qualm putting people in jail it realistic in a sense people are willing to help out if it affects them in real life can be hori writing but call a spade a spade here if Deku get criticized so should the others
Sigh
Yeah, it's one of my biggest complaints about, not the manga, but the fandom. When chapter 305 came out, the complaints was "Deku should struggle more!" Which is valid! Then, as time went on and on, that same exact crowd started saying "The kids aren't sympathetic enough and they HAD to see them suffering in order to care 🙄." Which...would have been valid if the complete opposite critique wasn't being screamed by the same crowd a year earlier.
Midoriya needed to see that Shigaraki was hurting. He still doesn't know the reasons behind Shigaraki's actions (but he will, I'm sure), but he knows it's not "just for fun". Which is what he told Shigaraki he thought about him when they spoke to each other at the mall. (personally I hope he remembers that conversation pretty soon and realizes those words may have stung lol)
Ochacko made Toga cry and began to wonder WHY she would cry in that situation. Because that's not a usual reaction in a war when you're attacking someone for what on the surface is seemingly no reason.
Touya showed that Endeavor's abuse led to something as extreme as Dabi. It didn't go that way for Shouto, so Shouto had to start wondering where and how it could have gone so horribly wrong for his brother.
They needed wake up calls. Something to open their eyes so they COULD learn.
This is the one time I'm going to back up the argument people like to use "This isn't Naruto!" Because for this comparison, it is not.
These kids started off the manga with the old-timer mindset. Catching and punishing villains, because they're hurting innocent people and they need to be stopped, and locked away. Simple!
But there is more behind that, and that is where the learning curve comes. They didn't start off like Naruto who was always ready to save Sasuke, literally no matter how much worse Sasuke got. These kids had to have a catalyst that shook their perspective and made them think "Wait, we're missing something. Maybe we should try something different." Which is generally how people open their minds up to new issues irl too.
The endgame idea for the manga is that heroes save no matter what, that people should be saved no matter what. In order for this idea to be delivered, each of the kids and villains were given personalized circumstances to create the change in mindsets in the characters necessary to bring this idea to fruition in-manga.
Kids--->bad minset
Villains--->show kids that not everything is what it seems
Kids--->start to shift to good mindset
Villains--->get what they need as a result
BUT--I do agree that this "struggle to decide what to do" mindset is not being portrayed particularly well. Or like, it is sometimes, and then other times it's not. I agree it's wishy washy at times. But I think shitting on the hero kids, specifically Midoriya! is a bullshit "critique" lol.
Edit to add:
The critique that the kids aren't learning or acting quick enough is dumb as it is, but specifically as said here by @/helga-grinduil, in comparison to someone like All Might who literally HAD that eye opener the earliest out of everyone in the story, who still continued to do nothing with the information he got, I'd say they're um, doing a pretty good job.

Why did Sakura lie to Naruto?
Sai even said himself that he was the one who pushed Sakura into her current mental state and that Sakura acted this way, it was partly his fault.
Sai told Sakura that she was the one who caused Naruto the most suffering. He said that the promise Naruto made to Sakura was a curse for him.
Naruto was in great pain because he couldn't bring Sasuke back from the path of darkness he had chosen. Sakura knew this and Sai half blamed Sakura.
Sakura was deeply affected by this. It saddened her to learn that she was the main cause of Naruto's pain. So I took all the blame on her. She planned to free Naruto from this burden and curse imposed on him. She wanted Naruto to be happy and only have his best interests in mind.
Naruto was really happy when Sakura confessed to him, but he knew, from the start, that Sakura loved and cared about Sasuke deeply. Thus, he knew that Sakura was hiding something from him. He knew that Sakura couldn't stop loving Sasuke so quickly
Notice Naruto's reactions whenever Sakura talks about how Naruto should forget his promise to her and how he should stop chasing Sasuke. “Naruto noticed those feelings that were hidden behind her words” (Data Book 4, Narutos Profile)
Of course Naruto was trying to bring Sasuke back not because of his promise to Sakura, but because he himself wanted to help Sasuke out of the world. But Sai made Sakura think otherwise, so Sakura tried to help lighten Naruto's burden.
Naruto kept asking Sakura what really happened and what she really wanted to say but Sakura didn't tell him because she didn't want to hurt him by telling him that all his friends were planning to kill Sasuke themselves
Read all of these panels carefully. Sakura has made it clear during this "confession" that she just wants Naruto to stop putting himself in danger. She knew that Akatsuki was after him because he was the Jinchuriki if kyuubi and now she doesn't want anyone else to be against Naruto.
So Naruto, you don't have to keep that promise, won't you stop chasing Sasuke....” This shows the true intentions of Sakura, she wanted Naruto to forget that promise he made to her so she could get rid of it. She wanted Naruto to stop chasing Sasuke so that he wouldn't Naruto takes any more danger and relieves his pain.
I told him how Sasuke had changed and it wasn't the Sasuke they knew. I told her that Sasuke is a criminal now so you should prepare him for whatever he's going to do to Sasuke. Sakura was willing to put up with Naruto's hatred if it meant she could keep him out of danger.
.
.
.
.
Sakura's fans are ready to blame Sai for covering up Sakura's foolish actions and mistakes. Also, she should have told him the truth instead of lying more, also at that time she knew that Hinata loved Naruto and ignored this. And also as I see it. She thinks Naruto is ready to do anything for her. And I don't know what Sai has to do with her belief that
So true the fact Sakura consider faking a confession only proves that her choice was more out of guilt rather then not wanting Naruto to be put in danger. Further more Sakura should have know Naruto wanted to get Sasuke back himself and not cause of the promise he made to her, Sakura even previously told Sai that Sasuke was like a brother to Naruto yet as usual her own feelings come first. Add that she did so even after noting how Hinata feels about Naruto only makes it clear Sakura puts herself over her friends.
While Sai does share some blame for making her feel guilty, it was Sakura herself who listened to him, even though she should know Naruto her own teammate after all those years. As you said Sakura didn't need to lie to him, she could have told him the truth and the fact she assumed Naruto would just drop Sasuke cause she confessed is the worse, Naruto has never been someone who abandons a friend. The way she confessed and then brought up Sasuke only shows how insincere her confession was and that it was about Sasuke and not Naruto. She outright tried to manipulate Naruto either with the intention to keep lying to him, or to break his heart after he gave up on Sasuke.

this is legitimately one of my top five favorite kakashi scenes.
i love seeing kakashi break the rules in the name of doing the right thing, and this scene especially is particularly satisfying to me, because his moment of defiance here is, to my mind, long overdue.
one of my eternal frustrations in early naruto is how the leaf village administration gives kakashi the job of caring for a group of super high-needs children and then continually makes that job as difficult for him as possible.  they task him with being solely responsible for the development and well-being of three twelve year-olds - a group that includes naruto (a walking disaster with a god’s power trapped inside his body) and sasuke (a genocide survivor fixated on killing his own brother), BOTH of whom are being hunted by different groups of supercriminals - and then the village keeps getting in kakashi’s way or dropping the ball or actively ordering him to prioritize other things.
so much of what goes wrong with the kids in this period is the result of other people interfering with kakashi’s work or being negligent or endangering the kids/putting kakashi in impossible positions.  team 7’s first big mission sets the tone for everything that comes after, with someone else’s lie putting kakashi in a situation where he has to single-handedly protect not just the client who deceived him, but the three children who were supposed to be the clients’ other protectors.  and after that, the list just multiplies:
ten anbu operatives can’t manage to protect sasuke’s hospital room from orochimaru’s minions, so kakashi has to do it himself and then whisk sasuke out of the village for a month, leaving naruto in the hands of a substitute and sakura with her parents
genma orders sasuke to chase after gaara when the chunin exams blow up, saying “you’re at chunin level already,” which forces kakashi to immediately dispatch more kids to bring him back, because “ffs NO i do NOT want him out there doing that why the fuck would you tell him to do that?!”
aoba runs his mouth off about itachi when sasuke is standing RIGHT THERE, instantly undoing all the work kakashi just did to prevent itachi and sasuke from coming anywhere near each other (and thus sending sasuke to that disastrous first encounter, the outcome of which ultimately leads to sasuke’s defection)
jiraiya decides he should let sasuke try to fight itachi himself, “out of respect for the boy’s feelings,” leading to sasuke ending up in a tsukuyomi coma
tsunade orders kakashi to drop his teaching work and leave the village on a mission even though a) he’s just gotten out of his own torture-induced coma and b) sasuke is having a crisis that kakashi is trying to manage
and then when kakashi gets back from that mission and finds out that surprise, all of this meddling has led to a disaster, tsunade tries to order him away AGAIN
but this time - he just says no.
he walks right out of her office.  he turns his back on her.  and there is NOTHING i love more than seeing kakashi embody the philosophy that he’s chosen to adopt as his guiding light: those who break the rules are scum.  but those who abandon their friends are worse than scum.
it’s not that he doesn’t understand where tsunade is coming from here.  but he knows she’s wrong.  she’s making her decisions based solely on concerns about the Leaf Village being in a tight spot - feeling like they can’t turn down missions because they’ll appear weak and thus become vulnerable to attack when they’re already operating at half strength.  she sends a group of twelve year-olds to bring sasuke back because supposedly the village can’t spare anyone else, “even if it means letting the sharingan fall into orochimaru’s hands” - but like.  it’s not the sharingan.  it’s a child.  sasuke isn’t just a repository for his hereditary jutsu; he’s not a pair of eyes to be passed around from one wielder to the next.  he’s a human child.
tsunade doesn’t know sasuke.  she’s new to the situation and doesn’t know enough about it to understand how serious it is.  i don’t even think she was still in the village when the uchiha massacre occurred; the timeline makes it sound like she left long before that.  she doesn’t really understand who sasuke is or how much trouble he’s in - she makes her decision because she feels like her first priority has to be the well-being of the Leaf as a whole, not the individual people who comprise it.  kakashi, though, who a) lives his life by a very different philosophy and b) does understand sasuke’s situation, would not have dealt with the issue like this, and if the village had let him do his job from the beginning, things wouldn’t have gotten to this point in the first place.
kakashi is horrified that tsunade sent a bunch of twelve year-olds out to fight orochimaru’s ninja, and i think he’s also probably angry and/or frustrated about having been ordered out of the village in the first place.  he was dealing with the situation before tsunade sent him away.  he interrupted the fight between sasuke and naruto even though he himself had literally just gotten out of the hospital, and then he continued addressing the issue with sasuke privately (unlike jiraiya’s non-attempt to address it with naruto, when he said he was going to give naruto a talking-to but actually flaked out).  kakashi knew sasuke was struggling, and he was doing all the things a teacher is supposed to do to address it, but then he was ordered away, and even though it was just for two days, it was enough time for everything to go to hell.
if people would just let him do his job - if the administration would let him focus on the task they themselves assigned to him - things would be different.  but everybody wants him to do everything.  they want him to be everywhere.  they want him to protect the nine-tails jinchuriki (who is also kakashi’s dead teacher’s son), and train the last surviving uchiha (which is a task only kakashi and his sharingan can perform), and give equal attention to a third kid, for good measure, and they want him to do it without stepping away from any of his other burdens, all while other people around him constantly frustrate the progress he makes.
so this time, when tsunade tries to send him away, he refuses.  he disobeys her orders and walks out of the room.  he doesn’t care about the rules or what he’s “legally” obligated to do.  he knows what the RIGHT thing to do is, and so he rejects his new mission in favor of rescuing the kids.
i love these moments.  i love when we’re shown so clearly the person kakashi has chosen to be - someone who does what’s right, not just what he’s told.  he made an active choice many years ago to adopt that philosophy, and he’s been living by those new rules ever since.  he's wiser now than he was when he was a child - sometimes you have to break ranks to do the right thing.  sometimes you have to buck the system, even if it means you might face severe personal consequences.
he had one of two choices: either save the mission or his comrades.  of course, according to the law of the village, you cannot abandon a mission.  but to save the life of his comrades, he put the mission on hold.
kakashi may have spent a good chunk of his childhood trying to reject everything the subject of that story stood for, but none of his attempts to harden his heart ever stuck.  he is, in the end, his father’s son.

If you are Sakura stan please don’t read it, this is my opinion and thoughts about Sakura as a mother
Sakura is not a good mother!
After reading Gaiden arc, I realized that Sakura is not a good parent to Sarada. Hinata is also not a good mother but Sakura is even worse in that aspect of motherhood. Here are my reasons:
1. Sakura’s mentality. Sadly Sakura is still the same little girl that wants to show everyone that she got Sasuke and she put her daughter into this. We know that Karin helped Sakura to gave birth but what Sakura did is that she covered her photo, didn’t tell her own daughter about her birth and about Karin (she should know that). Why Sakura assumes that every woman that Sasuke met was in love with him. Then Ino, her “friend”, was stopped by Sarada when she tried to say hello to Sasuke. Sakura must have told Sarada about Ino and her crush on Sasuke when she was younger and she told her this in a not good way. Why 32 year old woman does something like this to herself and to her daughter. It is a proof that Sakura has never grown up.
2. Talking about Sasuke. It is Sakura’s fault that her child doesn’t believe in her parents’ marriage. Sakura has never bothered to tell Sarada about her father’s past, what he has been through, who were his parents, brother and his clan. Nothing, that’s why Sarada developed this idea that her father doesn’t care about her. Sakura also didn’t even told her daugther about the relationship that Naruto and Sasuke share. What Naruto did to save her father. She said just nothing. Even her relationship with Naruto is not right. When Shin attacked Naruto, Sasuke and Sarada, Sakura only cared about Sasuke and Sarada, where is this super friendship with Naruto that almost everyone talks about. There is no friendship, I assume that Sakura can feel a little jealousy about Naruto, and what he did for Sasuke because how you explain that Naruto is put into the same category as Ino and Karin. Sarada just knows Naruto because he is Hokage. I am sure that Sakura told Sarada about Sasuke something like this “your father was the best in the academy, he is an Uchiha and he was so handsome that every girl wanted him even Ino...” that’s all what she told Sarada about Sasuke and this is really sad.
3. Finally, neglecting her daughter and using strenght to scare her. Sarada has asked Sakura many times about Sasuke but Sakura never tells her anything, she feels like nothing is wrong. She sees her sad daughter and does nothing about it. She can’t answer her properly. In that moment Sarada breaks and we cannot blame her, she asks Sakura if is she even Sasuke’s wife and what Sakura does... she explodes like a volcano, starts to use her physical strenght as a warning. It is really abusive if you treat your daughter like that. She should know some info about her father but her mother doesn’t want to tell her because she doesn’t know anything about Sasuke, she can’t understand his actions. What’s matters to her is her Uchiha crest on her back and don’t even dare to question her relationship. I will put you in place even if you are my family or not!
My conclusion is: Sarada is neglected because Sakura used her to get Sasuke. Sakura’s pregnancy wasn’t planned by Sasuke. Kishimoto even writes Sakura chased after him, he could have written Sakura and Sasuke decided to travel together or Sakura joined Sasuke in their journey but no, he used the word chased so it means that Sasuke didn’t want Sakura with him and if he didn’t want her why would he want a child. The best example that Sarada was made just to get Sasuke is the scene where Sasuke comes to the villiage, Naruto is the hokage so Sarada was at the same age as Boruto. Sakura went to Sasuke by herself, she didn’t tell her daughter that her father came back, she didn’t tell Sasuke to come meet her daughter (trust me Kishimoto would have drawn this). She just thought about herself. Sarada was used by Sakura just like Naruto to make her dream come true. To get her Sasuke.
