71 - Mikaelson's Don't Go Down Easy
Tumblr media
Part 72
Her Life Means Everything
We are getting closer to the end of this book. So if there is something you want to see before I complete this let me know
@mrs-fanfiction-2001 @the-big-bad-klaus @dragonixfrye @samsgirl93 @elijahmikaelsonbitch
Shutting the desk drawer I heard footsteps coming up behind me and I was over the moon at who I was standing there. “Damon. Oh my god!” Jumping up into his arms he stumbled backwards wrapping his arms around my waist.
“I’ve missed you, little Forbes.” He mumbled into my loose hair before he sat me down on my feet. He dropped his arms at his sides smiling. “Elena wishes she could be here but she had to drop our daughter off at school.”
Pushing hair behind my ear I shrugged my shoulders at him. “The life of a parent ain’t easy. Just be happy that you are a few years away from raising teenagers cause it is not an easy job.”
“You seem to be doing pretty good. I still can’t believe this place is gonna become a school.” He glanced around the room seeing that my sister had already had some logos made up. The sign was up out front and she was hiring people to be teachers too.
Shaking my head I chuckled at his words. “Well you know my sister. When she sets her mind to something she won’t stop until she gets through it…I hope that wherever Stefan is watching from up there. That he is happy with what we are doing.”
“Yeah me too, Maddie.” He paused where we each noticed the wedding ring on our hands. He had married Elena a few years after Stefan’s funeral. It was just a small wedding underneath the clock tower with their friends and family. “I finally understand why you enjoyed being human. It makes every day need to mean something.”
Intertwining my hands with his where he locked gazes with me. “It’s funny when I was human I didn’t think I was good enough. It wasn’t until I became a vampire that I realized I was always supposed to be supernatural….Damon, I know this will surprise you but I need to thank you for turning me.”
“I never thought you would thank me for making you a vampire, Mads.” He chuckled, taken back by what I had said before I wrapped my arms around him in a hug smiling.
Klaus and I were doing our best to make the drive back to the location that Lizzie had told me about. He had healed me from my werewolf bite that he had given me. Tapping my fingers on my knees I couldn’t stop my mind from playing out the worst possible outcomes if we didn’t get our daughters to turn back to their humanity selves. “What are we going to do with them, Nik…I mean look at them in this picture. Landon and little Henry are everything to them.”
“You brought me back, Mads. If anyone has taught me anything since you and I have come together. There is nothing we can’t do when we are a team.” He glanced in my direction looking at the picture I had up on my phone. It was a family photo I had taken of Hope and Nikola wrapped in the arms of Landon and our grandson sitting in the middle.
The phone rang where I put it up to my ear hearing my twin sisters voice coming through. “Maddie, I just sent you their location. Josie was able to find a vial of Hope’s blood in medical. Do everything you can to bring them home and be safe sis.”
“Thanks, Care. We will hopefully have them home soon.” I hung the phone up where Klaus hit the gas making the trip much faster since we could just compel the cops if they tried to give us a ticket. The girls were in an old museum with some caskets that looked like we used to put the Egyptian gods to rest centuries ago.
Pushing hair away from my ear I used the vamp hearing trying to locate at least one of my daughters but it didn’t take long because when we walked in Hope ran straight for us. “Mom. Dad, Lizzie has Nikola trapped in another room and she has a stake that can kill us.”
“Hope, sweetheart. Are you back…Aunt Care said that your sister had taken little Henry too.” I questioned wrapping my arms around her in a warm hug. She wrapped her arms around me leaning into my embrace, remaining there for a few moments.
She broke the hug where I could see that she had some tears falling down her face meaning she was back to her old self. “Yeah I turned right after I found out she had brought him along with us. I guess the auntie instinct isn’t strong enough to keep my humanity off.” She turned her head to the side seeing that Henry was sleeping on the floor wrapped in a blanket.
“A Mikaelson prince shouldn’t be sleeping on the floor.” Klaus picked him up in his arms looking at us.
Whipping my head forward I heard a voice coming down a hallway where I vamped being able to see Lizzie and Nikola standing inside the room. “So now's your chance. Let's see if you have it in you.” Nikola broke a piece of wood tossing it towards the blonde.
“I came here wanting to make you hurt, like you hurt all of us, but seeing you in front of me, I......I hate this. I hate how many good memoriesI have of you. I hate that I have to be the one to do this, because no one else will.” Lizzie declares raising her hand where I saw that she was holding a red stake in her hand making me start to panic.
Whipping my head around to my daughter I attempted to yank away the deprie that was keeping us from them but it was too big. “Hope, you’re stronger than me. Break it open!”
“Got it.” She placed her hands out in front of her mumbling a spell I couldn’t understand before it blasted open right before our eyes.
“But most of all......I hate you for being my friend and for being a part of my weird, messed-up family and for making me love you, Nikola Mikaelson. Because no matter how far you go, no matter how evil you become...apparently I can't be the one to stop you.” Lizzie didn’t turn around to face us, too focused on the person she wanted to kill right in front of her. I could hear her heartbeat speeding up but she lowered her hand dropping it on the floor.
Henry started crying which caused Nikola to gasp and I released the weight off my shoulders seeing that my other daughter actually cried again. “Henry…mommy is okay.”
“I can’t believe you two got here just to save them..” Lizzie spat at me where I sent her a glare.
“We can talk about your punishment later, Elizabeth. For now would someone explain to us what on earth makes you think it was okay to try and kill my daughter!” I snarked revealing my fangs to her.
Nikola stepped up taking her son from her father’s hand, eyeing him. She sniffed through some tears remembering everything she had done including making her own parents fight each other. “I am sorry about what I did..,I never meant to hurt you and dad. I just…I couldn’t handle the loss of Landon.”
“You don’t have to apologize, little Tribrid. I understand the pain. On two occasions your mother had to nearly die for me to turn my switch back on.” Klaus responded to her draping his arm over my shoulder. I lay my head on his shoulder intertwining my hand with his.
Hope stepped up offering her hand to the newly turned heretic. “We should get Aurora out of my sister's body before she regains control over her body.”
“Aurora de Martell. What he bloody hell is she doing in her body!” My husband asked, growing under his breath.
Clutching my freehand into a fist at my side I glared towards my eldest daughter like I was seeing Aurora’s eyes. That vampire nearly tried to tear Klaus and I apart during the years when the girls were younger. I didn’t trust what she said and let my jealousy get the better of me until now. “That red head vampire is still alive. I thought we took care of her years ago!”
“Easy you guys. We will take care of her…and it was a long story that we can talk about later.” Hope raised her freehand.
Lizzie shrugs her shoulders, finally meeting Nikloa’s gaze when she told her. “You know, I have to be honest. When Josie told me that you weren't too far gone, I didn't believe her.”
“Me neither….I am sorry for what I did to your father.” She apologized before the pair raised their hands performing the spell where we watched the red headed vampire body drop onto the floor leaving Nikola standing there holding her son before she dropped to the floor for a few minutes.
“How will we know that it worked?” I questioned the pair waiting for her to wake up.
Hope responded back seeing her sister sit up straight locking eyes with the girls. “I guess she’ll say something only the real her would know.”
“It worked. Panda promise.” She declares before the other two helped her stand and hug her knowing that she was her true self now. Sighing in relief Klaus kissed my forehead smiling that we had our daughters back.
Aurora shot us from the ground rising to her feet seeing all of us watching her, mostly speaking at Nikola and Hope. “You can't trust her. Once a Mikaelson, always a Mikaelson….hello Nik, have you missed me?”
“Aurora!” He breathes out flashing his werewolf eyes.
She stomped up twirling some of her hair when she finally noticed that I was standing at his side. “I assume that this former human isn’t making you happy or if she is maybe I will have to possess her body instead to get my revenge on you.”
Vamping as close as I could to her I grabbed her neck in my hands quickly snapping her neck dropping her body on the ground once more. “Nobody messes with the Mikaelson’s and gets away with it!” Turning to my family Klaus just smirked proudly at me where I could tell he was so turned on at what I had just done. “Now let’s go home, all of us.”
Comments really appreciated ❤️

Btw, it’s SO difficult for me to make characters that aren’t autistic or on the ace spectrum. I’m constantly thinking of new OCs to create and having to stop myself from being like “They’re AuDHD and aceflux” or something similar and it’s so 😭
Bonus points when I have to stop myself from being like “They also have a complicated relationship with gender and—“
Mind you, I am fully capable of creating a diverse cast of characters but I just naturally gravitate to ones that relate to me. Literally most of the OCs I’ve introduced on here are queer, neurodivergent, and/or trans. Let me just list them down for you:
Lawrence is autistic and is biromantic demisexual. I sometimes depict him with fem clothes but he’s mostly masculine
Rei has unmedicated ADHD and is a gay, transmasculine femboy. He also has general anxiety but we don’t talk about that…
Ares is autistic, aroace, and has PTSD. He’s also very fluid with his gender expression and loves to wear flowy dresses
Joey has BPD and is gay. He’s another character that’s fluid with his gender representation but very rarely dresses feminine and prefers to be masc
Aster is aroace and agender but goes by he/him. He’s also autistic and has really awful misophonia
Poppy is lesbian and transfeminine. She goes by she/they/star pronouns and is autistic + has BPD
Charlie is another aroace character who’s a demiboy that goes by he/they pronouns and he has unmedicated ADHD + he’s dyslexic
Oh and all these characters are apart of the same, massive family. Incredible shit, am I right? /s
And that doesn’t even include the other stupid asses my friend made for our OC universe. Most of our OCs got something silly going on and it’s wild 💀

also, you were talking about georges' feats in the military; could you share those stories if ya have 'em? i don't think I've ever read any of them before
thank youu :))
Dear @msrandonstuff,
of course I can!
Many of the sources I am going to rely upon are La Fayette’s letters to friends and family members. Because like every proud Papa, La Fayette liked to tell everybody what his son did and accomplished.
Georges was a good officer who took his role very serious and who not only freely choose this occupation for himself and enjoyed it, but who also understood how his military conduct was connected to his and his family’s honour. Here is a description of Georges’ military qualities from an undated letter La Fayette wrote his friend Amé Thérèse Joseph Masclet:
The fact is, that George, who is a republican patriot, -- and I have met with few such in my lifetime, -- has, besides a passion for the military profession, for which I think him adapted, as he possesses a sound and calm judgment, a just perception, a strong local memory, and will be equally beloved his superiors, his comrades, and his subordinates. I love him with too much tenderness to make any distinction between his desires and mine; and I am great an enemy to oppression of every description place a restraint on the wishes of a beloved son twenty years of age. I could joyfully see him with honourable scars, but beyond that supposition have not the courage to contemplate existence.
Jules Germain Cloquet, Recollections of the Private Life of General Lafayette, Baldwin and Cradock, London, 1835, p. 131.
While, as La Fayette wrote, he thought Georges very much suited for the military and although he liked the idea of Georges following in his steps, he was above forcing his son to follow a certain path. La Fayette believed children should make their way, independent of their parents’ wishes – although the parents should support and guide their child because a father for example knows his son differently than the child knows itself.
Georges joined the military and was made a sous-lieutenant around the time of the Battle of Marengo. He served in succession as an aide-de-camp to the Generals Canclaux, Dupont and Grouchy. Towards the end of Georges’ military career, Marshal Joachim Murat wanted to appoint Georges as his officier d’ordonnance but Napoléon was against it and the appointment never came to pass.
Georges was wounded in the Battle of Minico/Battle of Pozzolo on December 25, 1800. La Fayette wrote the following about his son’s injuries and conduct to Masclet on 28 Pluviôse [February 17] [1801]:
I have not this long while heard from you my dear Masclet: sure I am, nevertheless, that you do not forget your friend, and that you have been pleased with George’s good fortune on the Mincio. He was in the wing and under the general who fought and won the action. The eleventh regiment of hussars was the most distinguished. My son had for his share three bullets, but slight wounds. General Dupont tells me he had named him in the account of the battle. George insisted on the suppression of the mention made of him, unless the same was done in favour of his wounded comrades. His wounds would have been sooner cured, had he not remained with the regiment as long as there was something to do which caused an inflammation and a dépôt in his arm. But when the eleventh hussars made the blockade of the forts of Verona, which put them out of the way of danger, George got into the city, where he was very well taken care of. When General Dupont saw him last, he was in good train of recovery, although he yet wore a scarf. His side was still less damaged than the arm. So that the danger of the battle, which has been great, being over, we have had nothing to fear, and much to rejoice at. I give you those details as I know you will enjoy them. Here is a good honourable solid peace.
Jules Germain Cloquet, Recollections of the Private Life of General Lafayette, Baldwin and Cradock, London, 1835, pp. 229-230.
Georges wounds were without serious consequences, and he fully recovered. He next distinguished himself during the Battle of Eylau on February 7-8, 1807. La Fayette again wrote to Masclet:
George was on the eve being appointed to the rank of captain, and even the Emperor, before he went to Italy. had promised his promotion to Generals Grouchy and Canclaux and to M de Tracy [Georges’ father-in-law]. Since that period, my son has served as volunteer aide de camp at the embarkation at Helder, at Ulm, at Udine, and in the new war at Prenzlaw, at Lubeck, at Eylau, where he had the good fortune to save his general; and at Friedland, where Grouchy commanded the wing of the cavalry which routed the Russians only at the seventh charge. The promotion promised before all these events, and for which several applications had been made by the principal ministers and general officers, has been constantly refused, so that George, although the senior lieutenant of the division, has abandoned all idea of advancement. The peace will bring him back to us, as he is a volunteer: we expect him immediately.
Jules Germain Cloquet, Recollections of the Private Life of General Lafayette, Baldwin and Cradock, London, 1835, p. 106.
La Fayette also wrote to his friend Thomas Jefferson regarding Georges’ conduct at Eylau. The Marquis wrote on April 29, 1807:
My Son and Son in Law are in the Army of Poland under the Emperor’s Command, the one as a Volunteer Aid de Camp to General Grouchy, the other as an Aid de Camp to General Beker, Both my personal friends—George Had the Happiness at the Bloody Battle of Eylaw to save the Life of His General Whose Horse Had been killed and fell on His Bruised thigh, at a Moment when our troops were Overpowered and the Russians Giving No Quarter—My Son Lept down, disengaged Grouchy from Under His Horse, Gave Him His own, and so Both Got of. Since which time, and probably on that Account, there Has been a new Manifestation of a Sentiment already and I may say officially Expressed after the Affair of Prentzlaw when George Had the Good fortune to be Approved for His Conduct—it is that not only He Never Has Any promotion to Expect from the Emperor But that His Zeal in the Active Army is so far displeasing as to put Him in immediate danger to be sent, in His Rank of Lieutenant, to Some Remote Regimen—He Has Consequently determined to Return to Us, either to Serve in an interior Staff, or to Rest Himself at La Grange, as Soon as the Circumstances of the Army will permit His Leaving the division to which He is Attached, unless a proper Explanation Speedily takes place.
“To Thomas Jefferson from Marie-Joseph-Paul-Yves-Roch-Gilbert du Motier, marquis de Lafayette, 29 April 1807,” Founders Online, National Archives, [This is an Early Access document from The Papers of Thomas Jefferson. It is not an authoritative final version.] (05/24/2023)
To top the list off, La Fayette also wrote to James Madison on June 10, 1807:
My Son and Younger Son in Law are in the Grand Army, The later an aid de Camp to our friend Gnl. Becker Now Chef d’Etat Major to the Wing Under Mal. Massena, George a Volonteer aid de Camp to Gnl. Grouchy. In that Independant Situation He Has determined to Go on, Very Happy in the Esteem and Kindness of our Numerous friends at the Army and Among its Chiefs, But Having Had Strong Reasons Not to Expect Even the Usual and Common Course of promotion. It Has been His fortunate lot, at the Bloody Battle of Eylaw, to Save the life of His Beloved General, Brother in law to Mr. Cabanis.
“To James Madison from Marie-Adrienne-Françoise de Noailles, marquise de Lafayette, 10 June 1807,” Founders Online, National Archives, [This is an Early Access document from The Papers of James Madison. It is not an authoritative final version.] (05/24/2023)
Georges had put himself in great danger during the Battle of Eylau and his courage was noted. Even beside that, Georges had done very well in the past and was respected by his superiors – the only problem; he was a La Fayette and Napoléon was petty. He and his brother-in-law (the husband of his younger sister Virginie) therefore quitted the military after the end of the military season in 1807 – to the infinite joy of his mother Adrienne.
She [Adrienne] bore with gentle fortitude the anxieties of which my brother and my husband were the object during the campaigns of 1805 and 1806. She heard with joy of George’s good fortune when he saved his general’s life at the battle of Eylau. The peace which followed brought on for her a period of unmingled happiness. I [Virginie] shall not attempt to describe it to you. I have scarcely dwelt upon those peaceful years we passed at Lagrange, although, during that whole period, I was my mother's daily companion. But I could only repeat to you that we were happy. At the end of the spring of 1807, it seemed that God had accomplished all my mother’s desires in this world. As for myself I cannot fancy it possible to be happier than I was during the period which elapsed from the peace and my eldest daughter’s birth up to the beginning of the fatal malady.
Mme de Lasteyrie, Life of Madame de Lafayette, L. Techener, London, 1872, pp. 391-392.
This is pure speculation on my part, but I could imagine that Georges’ leave from the military could also have been influenced by family reasons. In the above quoted letter to Madison, La Fayette mentioned that Georges’ little daughter of four weeks had just died and I could imagine that, just like Henriette’s death was a waking-call for a Fayette, Georges’ wanted to be closer to his wife, children and family.
Adrienne also was not the only one who was frequently anxious for Georges and Louis (Virginie’s husband). La Fayette wrote on October 16, 1805 to James Madison:
My Son Serves in the Grand Army as an Aid de Camp to General Grouchy—My Son in Law Louïs Lasteyrie Serves there also as an officer of dragoons—two Young Wives, a Sister, and Mother Are With Me at La Grange—and While I Consider their Anxiety and My Own for the Sake of our Young Soldiers, I am inclined to feel Less Regret, and I know You Will find More Cause to Approve me for Having Yelded to the Opinion of the Ambassadors and Mine Respecting the present obstacles to An immediate Voyage (…).
“To James Madison from Lafayette, 16 October 1805,” Founders Online, National Archives, . [Original source: The Papers of James Madison, Secretary of State Series, vol. 10, 1 July 1805–31 December 1805, ed. Mary A. Hackett, J. C. A. Stagg, Mary Parke Johnson, Anne Mandeville Colony, and Katherine E. Harbury. Charlottesville: University of Virginia Press, 2014, pp. 434–436.] (05/24/2023)
I hope I could answer your question and I hope you have/had a wonderful day!

Long Time Running
Chapter 7: ‘74 Jailbreak
A sole survivor in her own right, Olivia Dallaire thought she finally had her shit together. When she kept running into RJ MacCready, he proved otherwise.
Instead of waking up in her room at Vault 150, she finds herself cuddling Dogmeat in front of the fireplace at Jack Ward’s home in Sanctuary.
Jack and RJ are both hoping to lay back and relax after their trip. Olivia has different ideas as she enjoys her first day in America.
-
Just another Robert Joseph MacCready Fallout story that asks a simple question: What if Med-Tek didn’t work out?
RJ wakes up in Sanctuary, hungover, re-traumatized and somewhere in the stages of grief on Minuteman General Jack Ward’s couch, who gives him a chance to start fighting again. He takes an undercover job for a Brotherhood cell halfway across North America for two weeks to try and find a way to help his child.
The next time he rolls back in town and lands in a vertibird atop Vault 111, absolutely nothing about his life - and the fate of the Boston Commonwealth - is the same as when he left it all behind.
Big Dogmeat Moment of the Chapter:
I bet that steak’s pretty good. Wanna trade the rest of it for this beer?
