Happy birthday Scottish actor Iain Robertson, born on May 27th 1981 in Glasgow.
Robertson grew up in a family of seven in a tenement in Govan. He held no thoughts of becoming an actor until a primary school teacher pointed out his talent for drama. Robertson has said: "growing up in Govan put fire in my belly, made me push harder and also appreciate the things that have come my way".
His acting training started at the Sylvia Young Theatre School and was still a pupil when he started working in the long running kids drama Grange Hill.
Back home in Scotland TV audiences through the acclaimed BBC Scotland film Small Faces. He wasted no time in following up on his success and movie fans next saw him opposite Jonny Lee Miller and Robert Carlyle in Plunkett And Macleane. Small screen outings include small roles in Silent Witness, Kavanagh QC and Rebus, but it was the wartime drama Band Of Brothers which significantly raised his profile.
I think a certain element among us will remember Iain Robertson as the second actor to play Gash Nesbit, son of our anti-hero Rab C.
Iain is currently on our screens as Stevie O'Hara in the Scottish soap River City.
By coincidence, Stevie O'Hara celebrated his birthday in River City last week turning a year older than Iain himself. In 2021 he appeared with Timothy Spall in the excellent wee independent film The Last Bus.
Iain is also known to audiences for his Scottish walking show 'Iain Robertson Rambles', where viewers can join him and Molly the Collie on his long distance walks around Scotland, series 3 aired earlier in 2023.
Iain was involved with the charity single and album Leave a Light On for the Trussell Trust and Help Musicians UK, along with Kevin McKidd, Celtic Woman's Mairead Carlin, Bryan Tolland of Del Amitri and many others to record the song of the same name.

@weird-ecologies tagged me in an ask game to list four songs you've been obsessed with lately and I actually have some! So here we go:
Discord, by Eurobeats and The Living Tombstone. Idk, it's catchy, it's a good song for walking in the snow, and I can't get over how a mlp song went mainstream
Wellerman (220KID x Billen Ted remix) by Nathan Evans, 220KID, and Billen Ted. I've enjoyed pretty much every version of this song that's crossed my dash, but so far this one's my favorite.
Oft, in the Stilly Night, by Thomas Moore. No link 'cause I haven't found a version online I like yet. Nevermind, this one is good, sung by Mairead Carlin.
Two Birds by Regina Spektor. There's just something about it.
Also Time in a Bottle by Jim Croce but that's 'cause I'm trying to learn to play it on the ukulele and it's not going well
Tagging: @just-evo-now @otterknowbynow @ghostofasecretary @rusalkii @aaaaaaawhatisausername @sjjsalamanders and @salt-and-bramble

Rules: Spell out your URL with song names and tag 10 people.
Tagged by: @i-prefer-the-term-antihero thank you so much! And I'm sorry I couldn't fo it earlier, the wi-fi was down.
S- Sleepsong (by Secret Garden)
A- Angel(by Westlife)
N- Nocturne(by Secret Garden)
H- How can I keep from Singing (Celtic woman. I like their version better than Enya's original)
A- Ancient Land (by Celtic woman)
T- The Calling(Méav)
I- If you believe (Tinker Bell the Lost Treasure OST, by Lisa Kelly of Celtic Woman)
P- Prayer(by Secret Garden)
A- Ages past,ages hence(Loreena McKennitt)
L- Listen,listen (Méav)
I was about to write "I see fire" (Mairead Carlin's version) in I, but didn't. There are so many damn songs on my mp3 player with S,T and I,but I remembered these on the spur of the moment.
The song "Angel" by Westlife is the only song ever to exist that has ever brought me to tears. Every time I heard it as a child,I would feel heavy inside and cried once or twice, but still could never stop loving it. I still love it,but instead of feeling sad,I feel a weight that makes me feel fulfilled
I tag: @song-of-amethyst @snowylacie @emily-cheshire @moody-marshmallow093 @bagel-san @maddyisenough
Only if you want to,of course!

Happy 39th birthday  Scottish actor Iain Robertson, born on May 27th 1981 in Glasgow.

I think a certain element among us will remember Iain Robertson as the second actor to play  Gash Nesbit, son of our anti-hero Rab C.
Iain is currently on our screens as Stevie O'Hara in the Scottish soap River City he also due to appear in a film with Phyllis Logan and Timothy Spall that I have mentioned before, The Last Bus, no word on it's release as yet.
By coincidence, Stevie O'Hara celebrated his birthday in River City last week turning 40, a year older than Iain himself. The Glasgow soap is now off air having run out of episodes due to the current situation.
Iain recently commented he is spending lockdown at a recently bought "rural gaff"  plastering and painting and all manner of DIY projects.Saying he has even planted onions and garlic and tatties!
He has also involved with the charity single  and album Leave a Light On for the Trussell Trust and Help Musicians UK, along with Kevin McKidd, Cetic Woman's Mairead Carlin, Bryan Tolland of Del Amitri and many others to record the song of the same name.
The idea came about when old Elgin chums James D. Reid,  and Kevin were having a chat about wanting to do something to help and both had been "very shocked" by reports on empty food banks. Listen to the song on the video, it is very good and also has a few shots of oor Bonnie Scotland.
