Can’t understand that fanart about LOZ, the fiddle one. Could you explain to me?

Fado the Kokiri goes from looking like this in oot to this in wind waker:

In the comic, Fado considers gender and gender expression in the Kokiri (Link in that game deliberately wears an outfit between what boy and girl Kokiri do, hence being in between the girl and boy Kokiri examples), then goes to Saria, the first Wind Sage and leader of the Kokiri. Saria gives Fado a haircut and when he appears in Wind Waker as the Wind Sage after Saria, he presents masculine and is happy as he teaches Link and Makar, the future Korok Wind Sage, how to play the fiddle

Tldr: fado is a trans boy and the comic was about him figuring that out and also playing the violin

I love you so much for recognizing him as Makar. Everyone is always “oh your korok plush!” PUT SOME RESPECT ON HIS NAME!!! That is Makar from the best Legend of Zelda game of all time. He’s so fucking cute and he plays the violin. If I get one more “yahaha you found me” I’m going to SNAP

I saw that we're allowed to ramble about Player Au things, yes? Because I have several thoughts, but I'll start with one.

Throughout the Legend of Zelda series, music is an incredibly important tool. It is used through several different games with multiple uses, examples including;

Zelda's Lullaby for being granted access to several locations, from Ocarina of Time (which gives me musical vibes tbh) (not to mention all the other magical songs in that game.)

Farewell to Gibdos which repels the Gibdos, from Majoras Mask.

The Goddes Harp itself from Skyward Sword serving a number of purposes including granting access to previously unreachable areas and activating Gossip Stones.

Medli's Harp and Makar's violin from Windwaker which resorts power to the Master Sword and counts as a form of prayer in world.

Still, all of this to say, music is from what I can tell, a very ritualistic thing in the Legend of Zelda universe. Its played in towns, yes, but only certain songs and the only ones with lyrics have religious ties such as the Ballad of the Goddes from Skyward Sword

So now I have to ask, would singing in the LOZ world actually serve a purpose? Would singing lyrics and such have magical effects or would it simply unnerve the Chain and make them uncomfortable because they're not used to people casually singing???

Now, I actually love this idea. Music does tend to serve a much greater purpose in the LOZ universe, kinda like prayer so would it be considered sacred to sing?

Coming from your idea, Fruit, I like to think it's not very common to find casual singers, most people use it for prayer or for special occasions but normal music instrumentals, so the Chain don't usually hear people singing unless something big is about to happen.

So let's just say the Chain is finally on the road, plus with reader. They've settled down for the night, some asleep, some just on the edge of unconsciousness but the Player can't sleep, there's too much going on in their head so they do the next best thing: put on their headphones and listen to music to calm themself. They're tapping to the beat, starting off with a hum then just kinda mutter singing, it's quiet to not disturb the others but of course this instantly initiates the teams "Fight or Flight" because why is someone singing are they about to be in the middle of some fight?

They jump up, Player screams and then there's just...silence.

The Player: Are you guys... Like good?

Time: Was it you?

The Player: Huh-

Twilight, urgently: Was it you singing?

The Player: Yes-

Time, looking aghast: Why?

The Player:.....why not?

So then there's this detailed explanation as to why they can't just belt out a tune or to at least warn them first and the Player's just like "You all need therapy"
