I had one more Furby idea to "get out of my system" for the moment.

My pair of gloves recently got kinda wrecked and unwearable in the wash, so I repurposed them as an octopus-like Furby. It's an idea I've had for a while, but avoided due to complicated leg design, but the glove fingers worked as legs perfectly, and so much easier!

Not quite an octopus, but more of a decapus with ten legs.

Here's .·₊˚₊·*☆ Decapod ☆*·₊˚₊·. A straight-forward name that means ten-legged, but I thought it sounded cool :]

Tried to make my long distance best friend a birthday gift and made a little Flapjack out of clay for them but the package got stolen and they never got it 🙃 All that time and effort and money completely wasted (and anytime I think about it for more than 3 seconds I become irrationally upset and want to start crying) BUT I figured I'd post the pictures on here and show him to the folks on Tumblr. Grimora art doll 🪦✨

After the two breaks it took me, this doll is finally done! As I always do, I’d like to talk a bit about my experience as my first time crafting these type of dolls.

Yes it was tedious, yes it took time for the clay, paint and glue to dry, but overall it was SO MUCH FUN! I followed examples of other wire dolls and adapted the materials to the ones I had at hand, though I plan to change a few materials now that I see they could be switched with better ones. Regarding the clothes, I experimented a bit following tutorials, but also trying to figure out the steps by myself. At the end sewing wasn’t as scary as it seemed to be, on the contrary I really enjoyed the process.

The doll was based off the reference images taken from models from a Google drive seen in this post!

I’d like to encourage people to craft their own wire dolls as well! If you’d like to craft one, I recommend to start by searching wire doll tutorials on YouTube, and sewing tutorials on YouTube/ Domestika.
