Ecstasy, drowning, and #metamorphosis are the hallmark of the #myth of #Leucothea, the white goddess.

🌊In Book V of the #Odyssey, the shipwrecked Odysseus experiences one of the hardest moments of his #journey. He now believes that death overtakes him with no chance of escape. It is the book of the maximum physical and psychic suffering of the hero.

🧭Nel V libro dell’#Odissea il naufrago #Ulisse vive uno dei momenti più duri del suo viaggio. Crede ormai che la morte sopravvenga senza alcuna possibilità di scampo. È il libro della massima sofferenza fisica e psichica dell’eroe.

✨When Leucothea, in the appearance of a #seagull, comes to hand him the magic veil to overcome the #storm and reach the shore, Odysseus thinks of a threat. Only in the instant he realizes he has no choice left, he decides to follow the goddess' advice that will lead him to his unhoped-for #salvation.

🪷Quando Leucotea, nell’aspetto di un #gabbiano, viene a porgergli il velo magico per vincere la #tempesta e raggiungere la riva, Ulisse pensa a una minaccia. Solo nell’attimo in cui capisce di non avere più scelta, si decide a seguire il consiglio della dea che lo condurrà all’insperata #salvezza.

È uno dei temi di cui mi sono occupata nella mia raccolta poetica d’esordio, "Umana Sibilla", edita da SETART, dove non a caso richiamo alcune immagini salienti tratte dai poemi omerici e l’idea del viaggio, volto alla riunione con qualcuno e al cercare se stessi, come metafora.

It is one of the themes I dealt with in my debut poetic collection, "Human Sibyl", published by SETART, where I not surprisingly recall some salient images from the Homeric poems and the idea of the journey, aimed at reunion with someone and self-seeking, as a metaphor.

A two-tone color scheme of #red and #white.

These colors I fixed in some of the images in my verses. And they also inspired my cover, the result of a lucky extemporaneous elaboration.

One of my poems is entitled "An #Epiphany in Bessarabia." I wrote it with Italian seaside towns in #mind. Actually, wherever there is a port one feels like a citizen of the world.

In this #poem two lines read like this:

"and you could be everything /

even newlyweds in amaranth robes."

During my visit to Abruzzo, I saw in a display case a wedding dress dating back to the 18th century, used by the women of Scanno (province of L'Aquila).

I was moved to see that the #colors of this beautiful gown are the same colors that inspired my #poem.

Una bicromia di #rosso e #bianco.

Questi colori li ho fissati in alcune immagini dei miei versi. E hanno anche ispirato la mia #copertina, frutto di una fortunata elaborazione estemporanea.

Una delle mie poesie si intitola "Un'epifania in #Bessarabia". L'ho scritta pensando alle città di #mare italiane. A dire il vero, ovunque vi sia un porto ci si sente cittadini del mondo.

In questa poesia due versi recitano così:

"e si poteva esser tutto /

anche sposi in vesti amaranto".

Durante la mia visita in #Abruzzo ho visto in una teca un abito nuziale risalente al Settecento, usato dalle donne di #Scanno (provincia dell'#Aquila).

Mi ha commosso osservare che i colori di questa bellissima veste sono gli stessi che hanno ispirato la mia #poesia.

These interactive #tools I think have several interesting features (and potential).

The fact that one can collect one's notes online with #multimedia cross-references fosters an overview that I think is useful for one's audience but also for the #author themselves to monitor their progress. The #slides on which the various #goals achieved are set allow one to take a lively and engaging view of what good we have built and shared.

Questi #strumenti interattivi credo abbiano diverse funzionalità (e potenzialità) interessanti.

Il fatto di poter raccogliere i propri #appunti #online con rimandi #multimediali favorisce uno sguardo d'insieme che ritengo utile al proprio pubblico ma anche all'#autore stesso per monitorare i suoi progressi. Le #diapositive su cui vengono fissati i vari #obiettivi raggiunti permettono di assumere un punto di vista vivace e accattivante su quello che di buono abbiamo costruito e condiviso.

Hello World!

My first work in poetry is coming out in Italy these days (April, 2025). A volume in which I have poured many of my experiences and my passion for Eastern and Ancient Greek spirituality.

In questi giorni esce in #Italia la mia prima opera di poesia (Aprile, 2025). Un volume in cui ho riversato molte delle mie esperienze e la mia passione per la spiritualità orientale e greca antica.

nei solchi ha portato le acque,

un'intera notte la luna

ha camminato sulla piena.

sono colati i risvegliati semi

fra le dita della primavera
