i love the fact that we get to see sofia in so many disguises throughout the movie. i think this actually is the main reason why people always forget or confuse which actress played her. firstly it gives the fanartists so many diverse looks to draw her in, but i also think the fluidity of her appearance is what represents freedom to katya. katya has a very particular look, that’s what makes her iconic white dress and fur coat instantly recognizable, while sofia is ever changing. immovable object and unstoppable force. and the fact that sofia looks the most like katya at the points in the plot when the two of them are the most distant from each other, the way they mimic and reflect one another,,,,,,like seeing sofia in the blonde wig after their biggest fall out,,,,,,,pain
