Listen I know the abuse Ice pick Joe faced in his past doesn’t excuse his actions but to all the people saying that his sacrifice meant nothing, we clearly didn’t watch the same movie.

my first Goncharov meme
I was originally going to do the one where the girl is ignoring destruction with headphones on, to show how chill(?) he is... but seeing as that only lasted for about 2hrs I felt this was better.

The fact that Joe Morelli is so minor that every poster identifies him by his weapon and yet his themes ARE the films themes, the fact that he's playing the stereotypical 'one last job' career killer but with actual depth because dammit he loves and is fundamentally unable to say no to goncharov, the fact that his theme has leitmotifs from katyas and andreys because he, on the basest level, mirrors their unwillingness to say no to the beastly man that made them all who they are (for better and for worse, in sickness and in health), the fact that he - as one of our two actually italian characters in this italian mob film - is killed on the steps of the cathedral he was married in (cmon you guys why are you sleeping on the intersection of faith and deceit), the fact that it was his father in laws fucking ice pick-

Goncharov stars Al Pacino (Mario Ambrosini) and Robert DeNiro (Goncharov) reunite after Martin Scorsese and Matteo JWHJ0175’s 1973 classic comes back to light thanks to Tumblr.
“It’s still the work I’m most proud of” -Al Pacino
“That was the best movie Al and I ever made together, and that includes The Godfather Part II. Hell, it’s the best movie I’ve ever been in, and I starred in Taxi Driver.” -Robert DeNiro

One of the most heartbreaking scenes for me was when they showed ice pick joe's childhood. He came out as trans ftm to his mom who he thought would be supportive but unfortunately she wasn't. And despite all the abuse he had to through because of his mother transphobia he still loved her, but we all know how his childhood affected his mental health. At least he had his brother Giorno with him before his death.
Can't believe I relate to a dude with a cat, an ice pick and a lobotomy.

always a roll of the dice on Joseph “Ice Pick Joe” Morelli interpretation with "is this brain damage, trauma, or just because he's American?"
