Marshall Pruett's pod - Rossi news is imminent (as of Milwaukee weekend). 3 scenarios: 1. JHR is the most popular rumor in the paddock. Grosjean is NOT locked in at that team. But Conor probably won't stay with JHR next year. 2. ECR but Rinus, Rasmussen and Ed all say Rinus and Ras are staying so how that would work is a mystery. 3. Least popular rumor (only a few people mentioned it) is some sort of part time deal but with who is unknown. He's pretty sure MSR is NOT an option.

Oh god I think I’m behind on everything. What are the rumors these days as far as Logan to INDYCAR? Is this joining Rossi at McLaren? Rossi leaving McLaren??? Send help I don’t have twitter, I never know what’s happening
soooo logan has been talking to multiple indycar teams (rumored mostly with prema) alexander is not getting re-signed unless mclaren is adding a fourth car next year. which isn’t likely :) prema has said that they want an indy veteran and a rookie. alexander and logan fit the bill perfectly

So when it comes to IndyCar we have a ‘big three’ when it comes to journalists
Marshall Pruett from RACER magazine
Nathan Brown from the IndyStar
Jenna Fryer from Associate Press
And, in all honesty, this whole Penske P2P situation shows everyone’s strengths.
Pruett is one of those motorsport journalists that were previously a mechanic so not only has that technical knowledge to give a different insight and expand on the information we have so far but has sources amongst the engineering and technical sides that’s others often don’t have.
Brown will ask questions, having gone to Tim Cindric several times since this all came to light and do his own investigations.
And Fryer, throws shade and stirs shit on twitter hoping it will somehow convince someone to give a tell all on her fainting couch.
Like, I wish I was joking. The woman has been attacking Josef since this began of all this happening.
Tumblr media
Tumblr media
Fun fact: Josef was always scheduled for Friday media, even before it was announced that he would be doing a mini conference in the morning.
And it’s not the first time she’s pulled shit like this.
She spent the “Daytona 23 hours and 58 minutes” acting like a gossip channel about what had happened to Devlin’s puppy as if to justify why she was at the track cause she talked more about blocking people than she did the race itself.
Then we have her basically bashing David Malukas for being upset that he didn’t win the Indy 500 rookie of the year over Jimmie Johnson, falsely claiming that he had abandoned another AP Journalist when he hadn’t and giving a half hearted back pedal before calling him and Dale Coyne Racing unsporting.
There’s also when she reported on Fernando Alonso’s announcement to be doing the 500, which was full of misinformation (highlights being that IndyCar and F1 totally use the same Honda engine and Fernando wasn’t going to have to do the rookie runs). When people including Mario and Michael fucking Andretti were calling her out on her bullshit, what did she do?
Compared herself to a journalist who had been murdered in Russia for speaking out against Putin and then used Billy Monger’s fund raiser as further deflection.
She acts like this, knowing that because she works for AP, people will still come to her with stories.
We’ve literally had Zak and Chip fight over her fainting couch throughout the Palou Contract saga.
And it’s fucking infuriating.

who are some 'big names' in indycar?? like, names i would see mentioned a lot... journalists, former drivers, etc.. hell even some well-known fans??
second, any indycar blogs you recommend? thank uu!
okay so i’m not going to overwhelm you but here are some frequently mentioned people that aren’t current drivers:
AJ Foyt, Rick Mears, Al Unser and Helio Castroneves: the only drivers who have won the Indy 500 4x (which is the most any one driver has ever won). They’re held in high esteem. Al died in December 2021 but the other three are all active to differing degrees (AJ owns AJ Foyt Racing, Helio is a co-owner of Meyer-Shank Racing and Rick Mears is still around, mentoring Team Penske drivers last time I knew)
Charlie Kimball, James Hinchcliffe, Townsend Bell — all former drivers who do broadcasting. James and Townsend work in the booth for IndyCar races while Charlie does the booth for IndyNXT and pit road reporting for IndyCar
Nathan Brown: IndyCar reporter for the Indianapolis Star. I personally consider him the gold standard of IndyCar reporting. I’m not believing something unless he’s confirming it.
Other journalists: Marshall Pruett and Jenna Fryer. I’m just going to… leave them there. They’re fine, generally trustworthy ig
I’m not naming well known fans because I believe that when fandoms start assigning hierarchy, shit gets a lot less fun 💀
Blogs to follow: Listen, my memory is bad so just because I did not name a blog, doesn’t mean they aren’t worth following. I can never remember URLs, I’m a visual person so I remember PFPs. But there off the top of my head: @dystini (she’s got tons of lore on her page), @tyresdeg, @winnerkirkwood, @alexanderossis, @omigodyall there are more, i know there are more but this is what my brain is supplying me with now 💀 so feel free to suggest blogs in the comments 🫶🏼🫶🏼🫶🏼
Hope this helps get you started (i did not want to overwhelm you)!! If you ever hear a name and want to know why they’re important, lemme know and i’ll tell you more than you’ll ever need to know!

The message I'd like to send is, look, I think, in a certain way, not to say that INDYCAR's saved me, I think it's restarted me. You know, it was a tough time after the Formula 1 stuff. You build up so much hope for, like, 2 years, just to keep getting turned down for various reasons or whatever, and it's nice to find a new calling and a new life and a lot more potential, in something where everyone drops that ego and the protective bubble and people are genuinely friendly to you, not because of what you're doing, but because of who you are. So I appreciate everyone, I appreciate the people close to me, I appreciate the drivers, and I appreciate the fans a lot for coming and supporting and every race, you know, giving it their all to make us feel good.
CALLUM ILOTT’s message to the fans on the Racing Family Show, hosted by Marshall Pruett

DF: Dix and I… How do I put it? We weren't so… it wasn't talked about really, but my relationship with Scott as a teammate is as good as any I ever had. And to me, that didn't change whether he beat me or I beat him. I knew any day he could beat me and my job was to go out and beat him. But as far as being an open book and the guys I work with, ours was as good as any relationship I've had.
As far as a friend goes, I'll tell you this. When things were really, really bad, when I was really struggling with my head after Houston, he would come and visit me every day and just sit with me. I didn't want to be around a lot of people because I was struggling with all kinds of things. But he would just sit with me and talk to me. No matter what was going on. If his championship fight was coming up, whether he was building his new house, he had Emma and the two girls to look after, he was doing all this stuff and he would come and sit with me for hours. (Dario chokes up a bit before continuing) And then right before the championship, before he went on the grid, he called just to check that I was all right. He told me not to panic because he had a plan to go out and win the title, which made me laugh and raised my spirits. Him and – of the guys that are still running, TK and Dixie, are two, not even – forget teammates here – but two of my best pals. Amazing people.
MP: You don't hear a lot about selflessness in our sport. Hard not to love Dixie for being there when it mattered the most.
DF: That's him, man. He's that type of person.

Do you have any nascar podcast recs? I listen to Denny's, disliked Door Bumper Clear, wasn't a fan of Dale Jr's, and want to avoid anything sponsored by fox
Wrt to NASCAR, I'll typically listen to Denny's podcast in the week. DBC I'll throw on if I need some content to listen to - as I did earlier today while playing some games - Dale Jr. I tried to get into but it's very guest dependent for me. My favorite podcast the last few weeks has been the Elizabeth and Ash Show with Elizabeth Blackstock and Ash Vandelay.
They tend to cover the main three racing series from a US perspective - F1, NASCAR, and Indycar - and I've enjoyed all four episodes so far. They record on twitch on Tuesdays and post it as a podcast later on, so I'm actually planning to try and catch it live tomorrow and see what that's like.
Outside of NASCAR in particular, I typically get my Indycar fix from Off Track with Hinch and Rossi to hear from the drivers, and Marshall Pruett's podcast for more of a news type show. For MotoGP, the Race MotoGP podcast is my favorite, I'll also listen to Oxley Bom and to a lesser extent OMG! MotoGP. For F1 I'm sorry but I don't follow it too closely anymore. I suppose I'm still subscribed to the Race F1 podcast, but I haven't listened to it in a very long time. The Tom Clarkson interview series - Beyond the Grid - they have on youtube is pretty interesting, I listened to the one with Juan Pablo Montoya rather recently and I thought that one was great.
Hope that was at least somewhat helpful!

Some current WEC (and a few IMSA) Rumours:
Vettel to Jota Porsche Hypercar
Vettel could drive for Jota in a Hypercar next season possibly alongside Kubica and Button. While another "Top EX-F1 driver" is also in consideration. Vettel is expected to test an Oreca 07 LMP2 with Jota soon. And has not denied the rumours but has said nothing is signed yet.
Mick Schumacher to Alpine
Mick Schumacher is in talks to race for Alpine in Hypercar next year. He's likely to test the car soon and could become a driver in one of their cars next year. Milesi, Vaxiviere and Lapierre have tested the new car already.
Rui Andrade to LMGT3 with a TF Sport Corvette
Currently in LMP2 with WRT, Andrade is not expected to race in Hypercar but could go to GT3. WRT will be running a BMW in the WEC GT3 class, but Andrade his name has mostly come up with TF Sport.
Ferdinand Habsburg has signed with a Hypercar manufacturer
According to his current teamboss, Vincent Vosse (WRT). Ferdinand Habsburg has signed with a Hypercar manufacturer, this manufacturer will not be BMW.
Daniel Juncadella to TF Sport with a Corvette
Current Mercedes Factory Driver Daniel Juncadella is likely to join TF Sport in the LMGT3 class. And would also join Corvette in the endurance races for the IMSA Championship.
Acura to Le Mans?
The Acura currently only racing in IMSA could be coming to Le Mans. Honda Performance Development will formally become Honda Racing Corporation USA (HRC US). And this is what they said about competing at in WEC (source: DailySportscar.com)
“I think we’ve always been pretty clear. We need to look at the WEC. We have an amazing, in my humble opinion, ARX-06, which has been the work of our team, ORECA have done a stunning job, and our race teams have done a stunning job. So we were smitten with our ARX-06.
They will not be joining in 2024 but possibly 2025?
Peugeot adds a rear-wing
The 9X8 will undergo a major upgrade for 2024. Their initial revolutionary no wing design has not been exactly competitive. For 2024 Peugeot will add a new rear-wing to the car. And will also change their tyre size. Currently they've been driving with a different tyre size than the rest of the grid and want to switch to the same size as everyone else.
Alex Albon to the 24H of Daytona with Wayne Taylor Racing
After it was initially announced that WTR would be running a current F1 driver during the 24H of Daytona rumours broke loose. However Marshall Pruett has confirmed this driver to be Alex Albon.
De Vries to Toyota in 2024
De Vries could be replacing Jose Maria Lopez in the Toyota drivers squad. The Dutch driver has a long-standing connection with the team and was meant to replace Lopez for the 2023 season already. But as de Vries signed a Formula 1 contract Lopez was retained but only on a single year contract.
Isotta Fraschini is evaluating a possible second car
Isotta will be joining the Hypercar grid with current LMP2 team Vector Sport next year. However Isotta is looking for a second customer to run a second car in WEC. This could be any one of LMP2 team Duqueine, or the Swiss GT squad Emil Frey Racing.
Jules Gounon and Jack Doohan tested an LMP2 recently
Gounon and Doohan recently tested an Oreca 07 with COOL Racing at Portimao recently. Doohan could be under consideration for an Alpine Hypercar seat. Gounon was fastest among several drivers and could be looked at by other Hypercar manufacturers.
Akkodis ASP in LMGT3 with Lexus?
ASP is known to want to join WEC as a customer team. This could be with Lexus and it has been revealed that if they're successful. That their current driver Timur Boguslavskiy is under consideration to continue with ASP if it switches to a WEC program.

So last week it was revealed that IndyCar had banned an entry for the 500 that was going to promote both Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and Donald Trump.
Obviously everyone pointed the finger a certain former F2 driver who had once tried to get Trump’s slogan on his trident car and got told no.
But Marshall Pruett said it wasn’t him.
Well a bunch of folk have been sniffing around and we think we know the team now.
