Quando for pintar aquarela e precisar deixar partes brancas do papel á vista, é necessário cobrir as partes escolhidas com um protetor.

Este protetor feito a base de latéx se chama , Máscara de Aquarela ou Masking Fluid.

No mercado ele é encontrado tanto na forma líquida, para ser aplicado com o pincel ( ou outro instrumento) ou no formato de caneta.

São necessários alguns cuidados na hora da aplicação , para um perfeito acabamento no trabalho tão delicado, que usa a aquarela como meio de pintura.

¡Buenas! 🙆‍♀️ 💕 Hoy os traigo un dibujo que hice para la maravillosa y majísima @blackramu_art 🥰. Me tocó como amiga invisible y decidí hacerle un retrato con mi estilo, como sé que prefiere el calor la dibujé con uno de sus vestidos de verano 🌼 Podéis ver un poco del proceso en las siguientes fotos, como hay que esperar entre capa y capa de acuarela para que seque aprovecho para hacer más de un dibujo a la vez (por eso aparece una tarjeta navideña por ahí que era para mis padres 👀). WHEEZE, after avoiding it for months due to being intimidated by how to make sun-dappled light it's finally done!! Lesson learned, do not put blobs of masking fluid or it eats the lineart and paper. Overall the masking fluid from schmincke worked beautifully! I'm looking forward to making more art with it!

The second Zodiac painting I did, #AQUARIUS. Gouache on Arches, 10.5x14”

I’m really happy with how this one turned out. There are definitely a few in this series that are my favourites, and this is one of them!

This painting presented a few challenges for me which allowed/forced me to not only approach the painting differently than I normally would, but also try a new tool. In this case liquid #maskingfluid. I know this is probably not a huge thing for most of you but it was for me, at least at the time. lol

It was definitely handy and VERY satisfying to remove. Using the white of the paper as the lightest point was a goal for me in this series of paintings and so the masking fluid, in this case, allowed me to try some gradient work on the orchid while keeping the white line details in the flower. I look forward to seeing how it will change my paintings in the future.
