Chapter 3: The Party Scene
(Racing Hearts : VOLUME 2) Song used : Material Girl - Madonna
It was one of those nights—glittering lights, thumping music, and a crowd of the rich and famous. The club in downtown Monaco was buzzing, full of influencers, celebrities, and a few F1 drivers who had gathered to blow off some steam before the new season.
Mark had already made a name for himself in the party scene, and tonight was no different.
Dressed in his signature laid-back yet effortlessly cool style, he drew attention the moment he walked in. His shirt was loosely unbuttoned, revealing just enough of his chest to drive the crowd wild. People gravitated toward him, admiring his casual charm, but it was the moment he grabbed the mic that really set the night ablaze.
The DJ had just switched tracks when Mark, swaying slightly from the drinks, stepped up and shouted into the microphone, "This one's for all the material girls out there!"
The opening beats of **"Material Girl"** by Madonna blared through the speakers, and Mark didn't hesitate. He belted out the lyrics, his voice slightly slurred but surprisingly melodic, making the crowd go wild.
"I'm a material girl in a material world!" Mark sang, laughing as he danced around the stage, drink in hand. His hips swayed, and people around him cheered, raising their phones to capture the scene. Mark's carefree attitude was contagious, and soon enough, the entire club was vibing to the classic tune. He wasn't just singing—he was putting on a show.
Charles, standing by the bar, watched the scene unfold with a mixture of amusement and disbelief. The guy never failed to make a scene, did he? Despite himself, Charles couldn't help but crack a smile. Mark's antics were outrageous, yes, but they were also... captivating.
The next morning, social media blew up. Clips of Mark singing Material Girl had gone viral, filling Instagram and Twitter feeds with comments that were equal parts thirsty and hilarious.
@F1Gossip:"Mark Spencer: Singer, driver, and future heartbreaker. Is there anything he can't do? #MaterialMark" @spoiledmark:"Oh come on baby, daddy will spoil you 🥵🔥 #MaterialGirl #SpencerHotterThanFire"
@trackaddict23:"Mark wants money? He's clearly saying he needs to be spoiled. 🤤💸 #SugarDaddyVibes"
@f1_fangirl:"Mark is the hottest and realest guy on track, period. I said what I said. #StanForever"
Mark scrolled through the comments, smirking at the sheer chaos he'd stirred up overnight. It wasn't the first time he'd gone viral for something outrageous, but this—this was next-level.
"Didn't expect this kind of reaction," Mark muttered to himself, lounging in his hotel bed the next day. His phone was lighting up with notifications, new comments flooding in by the second. It was wild how fast things took off, and he was loving every second of it.
Charles, meanwhile, was catching up on the frenzy. He opened Instagram, and one of the first things he saw was a clip of Mark's performance. The comments were... something else.
@f1savage:"Mark Spencer is a walking thirst trap. No one does it like him." @montecarloqueen:"I'd let Mark ruin my life. Just saying. #MaterialGirl #SpoilMeDaddy"
Charles shook his head, chuckling softly. Of course, the fans were eating it up. Mark had that magnetic, reckless energy that pulled people in, and it showed in moments like this. But amidst the chaos and the teasing comments, there was something about how effortlessly Mark managed to win people over. It wasn't just his looks or his rebellious streak—it was his ability to own the moment, to live it fully, without caring about how anyone else saw him.
Later that night, the drivers were out together again, this time at a quieter, more exclusive gathering. Mark was still riding the high of his viral moment, grinning ear to ear as they sat around a table at a rooftop bar.
"I saw the comments," Charles teased, raising an eyebrow. "Seems like everyone wants to spoil you now."
Mark smirked, leaning back in his chair. "Hey, I can't help it if people appreciate the finer things." Carlos, sipping his drink, shook his head, amused. "You really know how to steal the spotlight, don't you?"
Mark grinned. "What can I say? People love me."
Max, who had been scrolling through his phone, chimed in. "You've been all over my timeline, mate. The internet can't get enough."
Mark glanced over at Charles, a mischievous glint in his eye. "Maybe I should take this material girl act on the road, huh? Red Bull's new team strategy: me singing, Max driving."
"Yeah, sure," Charles snorted. "You'll be the first to sing your way to the podium."
"Don't underestimate my talents," Mark shot back, winking. "Besides, it's not like I'm leaving all this attention behind. Better get used to seeing me on and off the track."
Charles chuckled, but deep down, there was a strange feeling creeping in—an odd mix of pride and something else he couldn't quite name. He brushed it off, deciding to enjoy the night. After all, the season hadn't started yet, and he still had time before he'd face Mark on the track again.
But in the back of his mind, he knew things were shifting. Mark wasn't just his old teammate anymore. He was becoming something bigger—a force in his own right. And with the season fast approaching, Charles wasn't sure if he was ready for what that would mean for both of them.
As the night went on, the viral storm kept brewing. Charles sat back in his seat, scrolling through Instagram and laughing quietly to himself at the new wave of comments. Every time he refreshed his feed, there were more outlandish, hilarious, and downright thirsty remarks about Mark.
@queen_of_spice:"Mark Spencer could literally burn down my house and I'd still say thank you. 🔥👀 #MaterialBoy #YesDaddy"
@tracktrash:"Mark: breathesMe: 'Take my money, take my car, take everything. JUST TAKE ME.'"
Charles shook his head in disbelief, leaning over to show Max one of the posts."Check this out," Charles laughed. "Someone's offering him their car now."
Max glanced at the phone and raised an eyebrow. "I mean, I wouldn't be surprised if they handed over their life savings at this point."
Mark, sitting across from them, caught the tail end of their conversation and shot a smug grin their way. "What? Are the fans going wild over me again?" he said, feigning innocence as he took a sip of his drink.
Charles smirked, "Wild is an understatement. They're practically throwing themselves at you."Mark shrugged, still grinning. "Can't blame them, can you? I mean, look at me."
Carlos, laughing, chimed in. "Mate, I don't know whether to be impressed or scared for your life at this point."
@needfor_speed:"Mark Spencer looking like that and having the audacity to sing Material Girl?? Someone please hold me back before I propose. 💍"
@sugarr_rush:"No but seriously, Mark Spencer is the man I want to go broke for. Where's the GoFundMe for this man's lifestyle?!! 😍💸"
@toomuch_heat:"Let's face it, Mark is just too hot to handle and now he's singing Madonna? Ugh, I'm weak. #UltimateCrush"
Charles leaned back in his chair, still scrolling, unable to stop laughing at the constant stream of comments. "They really love you, huh?"
Mark's grin widened. "Of course they do. I'm a man of the people."
The group exchanged amused looks, but even amidst the teasing, there was an undeniable truth—Mark had a way of capturing people's attention, effortlessly drawing them in. And despite the jokes and the sarcasm, the fans' obsession with him wasn't just superficial. There was something about him, something magnetic, that made people want to know him, be close to him. @f1_obsessed:"If Mark Spencer doesn't marry me, I swear I'm gonna start a petition. This man is UNREAL."
@moneyon_themind:"Mark out here singing Material Girl like he doesn't already have millions. Sir, let me be your sugar baby."
Charles turned to Max and Carlos, a devilish glint in his eye. "We should get him a shirt that says 'Material Boy' for the next race."
Carlos snorted, nearly choking on his drink. "Honestly? That might actually sell out."
@marksluxlife:"The real reason Mark sings Material Girl is because he knows he's out here living the luxury life we all dream of. He's a whole mood, I swear."
@thirst_central:"Mark Spencer just dropped my standards for men even lower than they already were. How is he REAL? #MarryMeMark"
Mark leaned forward, eyebrow raised, as if daring Charles to keep going. "Oh, you think you're funny now?"
"Hey, I'm just reading the comments," Charles replied, hands up in mock surrender. "Not my fault the whole internet wants to either marry you or give you their bank accounts."
Mark laughed, eyes twinkling with that mischievous spark. "Well, what can I say? I'm the whole package."
@dream_driver:"I bet Mark Spencer smells like money and bad decisions, and honestly, I want in on both. 👀💸" @richgirl101:"Mark Spencer doesn't need a sugar daddy, but I'd be his sugar mama any day. I'll Spoil you, king!" Charles continued to scroll, chuckling as more and more fans kept pouring their hearts (and wallets) out for Mark. But, underneath the jokes and the teasing, there was an edge of tension. There was always something about Mark that kept things unpredictable, a sharp edge that made Charles both amused and... something else. Something he didn't want to think about too much, at least not right now.
As the night went on, Mark finally put his phone down, rolling his eyes at the continued stream of thirsty comments. "You know what? Let them talk. I'll just keep being me." Max raised a glass, nodding. "To Mark—king of chaos and thirst traps." The group laughed and clinked their glasses, but for Charles, there was an odd sense of déjà vu. He'd seen this before—the rise of someone who burned so brightly they almost couldn't help but consume everything around them. But for some reason, Mark didn't seem like he was burning out. If anything, he was just getting started. And the season hadn't even begun yet. @materialboystan:"Someone get Mark a crown because he's the king of everything. 🔥👑" @heat_toohigh:"No, but seriously, Mark Spencer has the world wrapped around his little finger, and I am not even mad about it."
Mark, laughing at one final comment, stood up and stretched, looking over at Charles. "You better watch out, Leclerc. With all this attention, I might just steal your fan base too." Charles rolled his eyes but couldn't help the smile tugging at his lips. "Yeah, well, you're welcome to try." Mark shot him a wink. "Oh, I don't need to try." The chaos wasn't just on social media—it was in the air, between them, shifting in ways that neither of them fully understood yet. But one thing was certain: this was only the beginning of a whole new dynamic between them. One that would take their rivalry, their friendship, and everything in between to a whole new level. ---
