Like I said in the Hexside post, I headcannon Amity redyes her hair shortly after the Boiling Isles is saved.

Matt was fun because I loved the idea of giving him that stupid "S" symbol as a graphic on his tee.

As for Viney I also said this previously, she either purposely rips her own clothes like Eda, or Puddles rips them up. Tbh I don't know which I like better. Hunter just constantly says he can patch her clothing up and Viney is like NO.

I gave Skara a simple traditional nightgown since I feel like that would be her style.

So for this im going to start with things we know is fact then after we are going to go into the realm of theories

FACT

Matt's older brother( who he idolized) left when he was decently young. He only got to see his brother every 52 weeks or longer

He attended a school where the only thing that mattered was power and was relentlessly picked on for not haveing it even by those who he considered friends

he came to a new school and tried to stop what happened at glandas but failed and made the few people who were willing to give him a chance hate him

He got stuck in the detention pit and was clearly freaking out when he got grabbed

His old "friends" continued to make fun of him and use him to the point of him being a stuge

he finds out his brother is part of a plot t destroy the boiling iles

His one friend might be dead and he sees all the teachers get turned in to puppets

He becomes the captain and ventures out to look for survivors despite the big chance he (or his team witch he clearly trusts) could get hurt

He knows he would be able to help everyone but is forced to just sit there and watch bosha ruin the chances that hexside will survive

He finds his friend is alive only to be almost killed and forced to watch his friend leave again to face down what he's terrified of with no other way to help

Oh and his home is destroyed

THEORY(aka my head cannons)

His father is Mason and rarely is around leaving him to fend for himself. Not to mention haveing both his dad and brother in on the plot to destroy the iles

He has had to work odd jobs for years to have anything he wants because his family can't overly afford it

He was repeatedly in a detention pit that (based of glandas as a whole) probably convinced him he was worthless without power

He went to a school where crying was probably really taboo because its a weakness

Okay, so basically me and @nataliavalas thought: what if all our faves that started as stuck-up pricks (and are also gay as hell) grouped together

He gets cut off again, as the others start laughing and a hand is pointed at him in a childish manner. At this point Travis is basically throwing daggers with his stare. The next shot is of Sokka snickering and Matt still pointing at Travis behind the couch, with a cartoony evil laugh like a gremlin.

The final image is a redraw from Sally face, specifically the scene where Travis punches Sal (episode 3) but instead of Sal, Matt is in his place. End ID]

OWL HOUSE FACT #56: The Tholomules take pride in being hardworking citizens of the Isles. They were overjoyed when Steve got into the Emperor’s Coven, for at the time it was a high honor. Steve used the first stipend he ever got to buy his motorcycle; the second was spent on the sidecar, so he could take Matt and various other Tholomule children (cousins and nephews and such) on bike rides.

And finally... the goober. The little bastard.

Matt had the easiest renders I had to do. There were no hair variations and not many outfits I had to do.

I've said this for Skara and Viney but I've grown to appreciate Matt more through writing my fics. He is such a FUN character to write holy shit. I have a gustholomule side plot in my WAD Timeskip AU and it's so much fun to write Matt being such a awkward loser with Gus being absolutely obvious with the rest of the group secretly shipping it hardcore but not telling either they know what's up.

Also while I was trying to find images of him standing next to Gus for height purposes... I found out Matt is shorter then Gus which actually shocked me. Idk why I always thought Gus was shorter after his growthspurt lmao.
