Half of me wants Brainiac to escape and be found by Lex to continue being antagonistic towards Superman down the line and deciding to switch to an Earth allegiance against Superman.

However.

I also now want Clark to suppress Brainiac after realizing the best way to ensure the AI never escapes and terrorizes the universe is to trap him in his mind. That way in season 3 we can get Brainiac appearing in his evil!Clark form as a hallucination and we don't lose the slutty Brainiac!Superman fit.
