Man I dont think any story has fallen from my favor faster than Pale did. (I mean this is definitrly not true. Maximum Ride as a series is shorter than like...2 of Pales later arcs, but like, cmon.) For over a million words I was obsessively reloading pages and reading udpates as soona s they came out. And in a few chapters I completrly lost interest and am now waiting for it to finish before I might read the last arc and a half or whatever it ends up being.

GOD modern Laios would make such a good little trophy/house husband 🥺 he LOVES cooking dinner for you when you come home after a long day of being the breadwinner. you get to spoil and dote on him and he gets to spend all day doing nerd shit and taking care of the house (he LOVES cooking you dinner and seeing the look of relief on your face coming home to a clean house & warm meal after a long day)

on your anniversary you come home and he's cooked a fucking 5 star meal- like the kinda shit you only get at some fancy ass overpriced restaurant . After dinner you suprise him with a huge intricate Lego set you know he's been wanting but wouldn't ask for because it's soooo expensive & he nearly cries.

He spends like 2 hours going down on you out of pure joy alone before letting you tie him to the bed and ride him until he DOES cry- whimpering "thank you" and "I love you"'s over and over before you've even let him cum. tears falling down his flushed cheeks and eyes rolling back in his head as he writhes against the restraints, so desperate and grateful for whatever you give him. such a good boy, your perfect little house husband 😌

okay. Since we got minimum wage retail Laios confirmed by Kui. House husband Laios is so fucking real.

Laios who’s a total part timer since meeting you, he works for pocket change and like. Bare minimum benefits just to keep things comfy for the two of you while he basically puts everything in savings. (Until like one day he just quits tbh when yall are really settled in)

But like in my mind he works under the table at Senshi’s restaurant for cash + to learn about cooking! They go on fishing/hunting/hiking trips together and go to the farmers market to get fresh produce and Senshi teaches Laios everything he knows.

He cleans up your apartment every day. Like, he’s not the best or a maid or anything. He’s just a dude. But he does recognize that he’s immensely privileged and does his best to show you hey. He does care. And he wants you to not have to bust your ass after coming from a full time shift. He does basic things like dishes and stuff and on the weekends you guys maybe spend an hour or two maximum cleaning on the weekends together

LAIOS. PACKS YOUR LUNCH. He love love LOVES doing this and he has little sandwich shapers to make them into little dinosaurs or dolphins or something. And he does bentos with cute little pins and molds and he lovingly spends time on this. I think he genuinely enjoys doing this stuff and testing out new recipes.

And cooking in general!! Like that is how Laios shows he loves you forreal. He genuinely pays attention to your tastes and tries to “gourmet” your favorite foods. (I’ve been rereading the manga and when Marcille’s upset he offers to try his best to make whatever she wants to eat out of monsters and it’s so cute…). Like you want grilled cheese? How about grilled Brie on fresh made bread? Bagels? Oh yeah he tried a new recipe at Senshi’s at 4 am, here’s fresh out of the oven pastries. It’s so cute.

I think. He loves like those random ass kitchen gadgets too. He 100% has an ice cream maker and he makes custom flavors for you.

And he just loves watching you eat. It’s such an expression of love. He works so damn hard to make you smile and make you happy. And his food never sucks because 1. Senshi teaches him everything 2. He ALWAYS tests recipes before going way too hard with them. Like he pays attention to your palette so if he made something gross or something just. Not to your tastes you’d let him know in the trial stage.

And GOD. Laios is just a fucking sex toy I swear. He’s genuinely like. A subby service top. He wants you to absolutely use him however you want but he likes to be the one that’s doing most of the work because he likes to spoil you with his body…(also he cums super easily in my hc so if he tops he’s able to like. Pull out and give you head or switch positions when he’s getting too close)

But when you spoil him and ride him…tell him how handsome he is and how much you love him. yeah he’s crying and whimpering about how much he loves you and how you’re just so fucking perfect. It makes your head spin because Laios genuinely makes you feel like you’re the only person on earth for him.

I don't have sweet headcanons, BUT I have something funny. Every time I reread TID, I'm reminded of how much I love Will, and how he was an absolute idiot, in clockwork princess, when he was on a mission to save Tessa. I don't know if CC wanted him to be the dashing knight on a horse, galloping from England To North Wales, but my man could have taken the trains and shortened his trip from three days to a maximum of a day and a half. He didn't even think of the logistics of his plan. Let's say the battle did not happen, and he managed to save Tessa before Mortmain got her. Where was he supposed to put her? On Balios with him? FOR THREE DAYS? Let's say he thought of the trains once he saved Tessa, where was he supposed to put Balios? It doesn't make sense.

Anyway, I think I'm going through a Will Herondale withdrawal, I need more stories about him post clockwork princess.

Would "I got on the British Railway and bumped along in the train car for a day and a half" be as good a story to tell their children as "I ran across national borders on a horse, my hair flowing freely in the wind, to rescue my lady love?" No, it wouldn't. With that in mind, I think Will was planning ahead. Thinkin' long-term, if you feel me. Maybe he even thought that once he found Tessa, she could cling to his back and ride bareback on the horse with him, her skirts flowing behind them like a romantic flag. Good for him. What an imagination!

But yes, logistically speaking, his plan sucked.

Trigun Bookclub: Trigun Vol.1-2, Chapter #08

CW: Some of my analysis in this post touches the topic of suicidal ideation (there will be a warning around that portion).

I’m doing a deep-read of the Japanese original print (reread) and Overhaul 1.0 (first read) side-by-side, and writing down everything I notice from small details, version differences, translation differences, etc.

The volume numbers will be mismatched for most of the remainder of Trigun, since the Japanese first edition is 3 volumes while all later versions are 2 volumes.

This chapter is the beginning of the Japanese Volume 2, which is from #08 to #13 (plus the pilot as a bonus).

Starting off with the cool as balls shot of Vash being shot a billion bullets at! I did write "rule of cool" here since I thought he was just magically evading the firing squad. However, on second thought, I think Neon specifically ordered the gang to not actually shoot him, judging by how he says "not bad" immediately afterwards. It's his way to test Vash, to see if he flinches.

[cw sui] The "You ain't afraid of dyin', are ya?!" line stuck out to me a lot... Many rereaders (and I assume first-timers too, at this point in the bookclub) know that Vash is... casually suicidal? I'm not sure if that's the right way to put it, but he doesn't have much of a sense of self-preservation. He's not seeking death, of course, but he's not exactly avoiding it either.... This becomes much more apparent and relevant at the end of Trigun and in Maximum, so I'll leave it until I get to those parts. [/cw]

I've always loved how Nightow draws these circles to show spinning motion in his artwork!! It's simple but it really pops... it's just so so (chef's kiss)

I wonder just what Vash's next move was going to be here? He's pretty much cornered... but I guess he can always get out of any situation, as he usually does.

Vash's expression of sheer confusion is golden. I love him lmao

I love how immediately after he calls Meryl a little girl he gets spooked by the Big Girl instead.

This is not directly translatable, but I find Milly's line here very cute. In Japanese, she says「…私は――　ミリィ…トンプソンとゆいます　えとえとイチオー スタンガンミリィとは私のコトをゆいます」 The correct word for "I'm called [smth]" here would be 言います(iimasu), but the pronunciation ゆいます(yuimasu) is a bit childish in this context. If I recall correctly, isn't Milly the youngest of many siblings? Maybe it's a little quirk showing that youngest-sibling aspect of hers.

Meryl asking Vash to be a "responsible adult" for once.... lol

This is the first time his name has been called since his encounter with Kaito and the beginning of the BL gang' hijack. I completely forgot that Kaito has no idea who he is!! Vash didn't give him a name; he's just been calling him あんた("you") the whole time!!

Excuse the messier handwriting from here on… I was working on this during a car ride.

A detail in the Japanese version - this line was originally written「おまえが消したって話んなってるJULY(あのまち)だが…」with "JULY" having a ruby pronunciation note of あのまち("that city").

This part was initially written to be a translation suggestion but I decided to just keep it a JP phrasing note:

「あのガレキが俺の見た最初の風景だ」 "That mountain of debris was the first thing I saw."

Translation suggestion - Here, Neon says「サシの勝負だ」, where サシ means "face-to-face" or "one-on-one." I would say it's more like "This fight is between just the two of us," to show more of the respect Neon has for Vash.

More of this respect is shown in the next page, where they make a promise that Neon will step back if Vash wins the duel. Neon recognizes Vash's skill and ideology, and treats him as an equal.

And here's the action!

I found interesting that Neon's war-cry/exclamation "ha" was actually written in kanji as 派. The kanji by itself means group or faction, but considering Neon's character, maybe it's supposed to be a reference to the word 派手(hade), meaning "gaudy?"

This duel definitely isn't following regular duel rules... but no one said it was unfair or anything. Maybe this is just how they are in No Man's Land.

Neon shoots with his dynamo-gun (?) instead of his cool engraved pistol.... Anyways, his first strike is at Vash, and they all hit the rocks that are falling between them. Vash then shields himself with one of those rocks by jumping in the same direction as it.

And he's doing another frontflip!! In sync with the falling rock!! With a wound in his gut!! In midair and upside down, he precisely shoots five rounds into Neon. It hits his dynamo, but looking closely I can see that maybe he got his arm shot too.

A bit of a tangent - many of Neon's actions are reminiscent of old Japanese culture, which is very interesting. His pose during his first appearance in Chapter #05 (how did i remember that. i checked just in case and i was right), where he sort of squats and extends his open palm to the front, is a very stereotypical kabuki pose. Again, I don't know about the specifics of kabuki, but his pose on the the panel where Vash jumps also looks kabuki-esque to me. Neon's respect towards Vash as a fellow gunslinger and his beliefs on dignity reminds me of bushidō. It's not representative of all aspects, of course, but there are definitely elements incorporated in his character.

This line (including the speech bubble after it) is a bit weird when translated so it will have to be tweaked, but a direct translation would be:

「このままではブレーキングはおろか…　船体ごと爆発する可能性があります！！」 "If it continues like this, the ship itself may blow up, let alone brake!!"

I'm pretty sure "brake" (miswrote in the image, will fix later) here means that they won't be able to put on the brakes due to the boiler malfunction. But I don't know shit about machinery or how to phrase this. (shrug)

My name is Lucy and I am a Twitch Streamer. I'm 22 years old, and I live in Aotearoa New Zealand. I have been streaming since September 2021, and achieved Affiliate status in October 2021. I stream Overwatch 2 three times a week - Quick Play with my community on Mondays and Wednesday, and Ranked/Competitive on Saturdays. I enjoy meeting people through the game, and making wonderful new friends throughout the Oceanic streaming community. I have a wide and varied community, with regular viewers tuning in from all around the world. I want to tell you a little about me, because I've never had the chance to really to properly introduce myself to the internet.

I'm a lover of all things fandom - in fact back in 2015 - 2018 I ran a very successful fandom blog right here on Tumblr. I am currently enjoying the newest season of Doctor Who, at the same time as finishing my complete Criminal Minds rewatch in preparation for the newest season. I spend a lot of time playing Overwatch 2, but I also enjoy playing Fortnite, Detroit: Become Human, Sea Of Thieves and more! In my spare time I'm also quite partial to playing some Pokemon: Go - it's a highly addictive game. Last year I got back into reading when I purchased a kindle for myself. If there's one thing I'll never regret, it's the purchase of my kindle! It comes everywhere with me, and I also enjoy writing reviews over on Goodreads. I am currently reading The Assassins Blade, as I am doing a full reread of the Maasverse. Throne Of Glass is my comfort series, but back in the day my comfort series was Maximum Ride (still is if I'm being honest). AJR are my favourite band, but I do enjoy listening to some Taylor Swift sometimes too. In 2022 I was lucky enough to see AJR live on their OK Orchestra tour - and I was even front row! That concert was my first ever, and I will cherish those memories forever.

I am privileged enough to have the amazing combo of Autism and ADHD, and this shapes the way I stream. I have built my community from the ground up with the intention of creating a safe space for other gamers who may share some of my struggles and experiences, and for those who haven’t as well. I enjoy fostering a sense of belonging and love for all within my community. I am legally blind, and this also colours the way I play. As a disabled gamer, I am an advocate for accessibility, whether that be by redesigning user interfaces, or going through all the accessibility options within a game with my community. I am a very transparent streamer, and never hide my struggles from my community. Quite recently I had to take quite a bit of time off streaming and playing Overwatch due to health issues that resulted in an invasive surgery 3 weeks ago. Less than a week later, I was back and better than ever - although my competitive playtime for this season is a bit lower than it should be due to missing the first few weeks of the season. But don’t worry, I’m not rusty at all! I’ve spent every spare minute since I returned teaching myself new skills and brushing up on my old ones!

I began streaming during the second full scale Covid-19 Lockdown in Aotearoa, as a way to stay in touch with some of my friends better. I began by streaming Fall Guys and Slime Rancher, but slowly branched out and tried every single video game I could get my hands on. I had spent my whole life being told that video games were for boys, and so when I realised the internet had become my playground, I tried every single game I could. I eventually realised I enjoyed playing Fortnite and when Overwatch 2 released, my community requested that I try it. My first week was one to remember - I had no idea what was going on, and had never played an FPS before. I was very overwhelmed, but my community cheered me on. The more I played Overwatch, the more I realised that I had finally found my place in the gaming world. It wasn’t long until I switched my branding away from being a variety streamer and made Overwatch 2 my sole focus. My community loved it, and I haven’t looked back since.

My favourite part of playing Overwatch 2 (and what constantly keeps me on my toes) is the counter play. Nothing thrills me more than to see my opponent play Widowmaker and give me a chance to play Sombra, or the chance to switch onto Zayra because the enemy tank has gone D.Va. Win or lose, I always have a good time - as a good friend once told me, a loss for me is a win for someone else. That being said, the thrill of winning and knowing that my team were better coordinated is always a rush! I love this game for its ever changing meta, which has forced me to expand my hero pool over the years. I went from only playing Soldier 76, to playing Sombra, Echo, Baptiste, Ana, Zayra, D.Va, Pharah and more. I also really enjoy the social aspect of Overwatch 2. Whilst the OW2 match chat is famously toxic, there are some truly fantastic people out there. I will admit, I do also enjoy coming up with great insults and jokes when someone is rude in the chat!

I'm starting this blog to give myself a place to write and share my thoughts in more depth. Nobody wants to hear me babble on about consumerism or some really niche book for hours on stream, Instagram is all about photos, and Twitter doesn't give me enough characters to bother. So here I am, back on the first social media platform I ever used. I've always wanted to have a proper blog, so I'm going to give it a go. If you have any tips or feedback, or topics you want to see me write about - let me know and I'll do my best to cover them!
