・synopsis. his kid's teacher, who decided to stay with them 'till he came back from a late shift at his job, and to his surprise, the teacher was kind of cute. a kindergarten teacher, actually no, his kid's favorite teacher, man what would his kid think if you suddenly became their parent, but getting to know you a bit is.. well, it doesn't sound too bad.

MAYBE day IV: i gave in im already start on writing ab it.

a busy dad who got to see their kid after a small break, and finds you. — ayato, al haitham, gorou, diluc, childe/tartaglia, kaveh

・he just happened to be given a few days off, other than weekends, he could see his kid. even so by ordering the person who usually picks the kid up for them to not for a few days, because he would instead. as he arrived at the kindergarten, the dismissal area was definitely filled with kids of all kinds, running to their parents, he searched the room for his bundle of joy, just to see them with a special someone; you. he knows his kid was in good hands, as soon as he sees you helping them with an activity that was being done earlier, waiting for their parent to arrive, you look behind to see a well-dressed man, looking down to you and his kid. while you stand up to introduce yourself to him, all the kid could do was cling to their father's leg, finally getting to see him on any day but a weekend, and with their favorite teacher? they were more than happy! watching their 2 most favorite people get along was the best! not to mention the subtle blush on both your cheeks as you both talked, gives his number through "maybe my kid might need help later :)". as soon as he gets home and has dinner with his kid, you won't go away from his mind, the still picture of your smile after he made a joke the first meeting you both had, how could he concentrate on any work this week if that's what's really stuck on his mind.

dedicated dad to his kid: while picking up his giddy kid from kindergarten, he wonders why, and he sees a newly-hired teacher. a really cute one that is. — zhongli, kaeya, diluc, aether, gorou, thoma, childe/tartaglia, arataki itto, tighnari

・as his kid ran up to their father, almost attaching themselves onto him, he looked up to see the most jaw-dropping, ethereal, elegant, graceful, charming, beauty he's ever laid his eyes on trying to talk to him about his kid's amazing performance in class. honestly he's never seen his kid happier when you told them so, a perfect score in their quiz?! oh you're so proud of them!! even handing them their favorite chocolate/candy bar!! you were so breathtaking to him, and almost like another parent to his child, it made his heart bloom, what if you became his actual other parent, hey he's just thinking out loud... anyways, stroke a conversation with you, probably used a cheesy pickup line to get your number, plus points if you love funny guys (every1 does), experienced love at first sight immediately, thinks you are an amazing person for choosing your job as teaching too, must be quite hard too, his kid can be hard to discipline sometimes too, and multiply that by 20? damn, you must have a lot of patience. getting to talk to you and getting your number, on the same day? man this day must be a blessing from the archons! because it feels like he met the love of his life, and he truly did.

as his kid begged for him to go pick him up at school instead, he meets his kid's 2nd favorite person, you just might become his 2nd favorite too. — albedo, xiao, wanderer/scaramouche, cyno, al haitham

・not that he didn't wanna pick up his kid, but he was definitely busy, and that early morning that they had to go to school was when they wanted him to pick them up instead of the maids around the house. their reasoning was that other kids were making fun how their real dad doesn't wanna pick them up because 'he left', but they knew otherwise, a work-at-home dad yet somehow piled with paperwork and goes to work on weekends, it's like he isn't even trying to care for them, so to prove those bullies they were wrong, they wanted their dad to come, just even that one time. as he approached the kindergarten classroom, he peeked inside to see his child holding another adult's hand and telling them about what happened about their day while waiting for to come get them, he was by far the most fascinated with you, it's like you had bond almost stronger than he and his kid had, when he went to talk to you while picking up the kid, almost just sleeping in his arms, and decided to introduce himself to you, since the little chaos ensuer in his hands seemed to love you so much, and honestly you two had more in common than he thought, so much so he got your number, handing a coffee to you, saying "coffee date sometime if you're free, call me XXXX-XXX-XXX." on the sticky note, you ended calling him, and he was more than excited for your date, but he obviously wants to take it slow, and doesn't wanna rush anything between you two at all. is more than grateful that his little angel asked him to pick him up even just once.

tbh this new event made me like xiao a lot more. i just remembered him as this super angsty "nobody understands me" type, but eh, he can be reasonable too, and his past explains why he would sacrifice himself without second thought whenever a problem arises lol

but oh my GOD lemme talk about itto for a minute. holy fuck, im so happy they included him in the new event. shinobu and him were kind of oddly placed, but man am i happy they were. itto is such a skrunkle but somehow his characterization leaned a bit on the annoying side? i mean, maybe he just seemed stupider than usual when hes surrounded by people wiser than himself, but idk. it was also a bit annoying having him be the laughing stock of the team for the whole time but i guess that's his purpose as a character overall lmao

though i do have to admit!! ive never laughed so hard at the jokes in a quest before lmao. (beware - small spoiler) the part where itto tries to open the door by knocking it down when the button was right next to him was comedy gold already, but when the whole team started CLAPPING? 😭 i was HOWLING man lemme tell ya

so yeah that quest was definitely the best one ive played. not only because it included itto - ah, well, he did play a big part in it lol, but overall the quest was really really interesting. especially the ending, hoo boy, i understand now why that final cutscene got people weeping. it was so cool. i wish we wouldve seen more of the other yakshas, but oh well. im satisfied that we got like actual designs for them and not just those silhouettes from the zhongli cutscene

talking about him, im also so happy that he was included 😭 ill never get enough of him

I think I got into the writing side of the Genshin community by looking up Diluc and Kaeya fics (not the ship, but their brotherly bond has such a good potential for angsty hurt/comfort that it was too good to pass up, even if it is only platonic) so this event really did feed me well lmfao

I’ve been wanting to do something like a harbinger reader for quite some time, but I’m not sure if anyone would be interested in that, since I’ve seen quite a few people do that idea already. But if it’s specifically requested, I’ll do it,,, Anyway.

Yes. Harbinger reader. Albedo would figure it out soon, if not right away when he meets you. He’s wary of what a harbinger would want with his little sister.

If Klee was perhaps a little older, you would offer to take her under your wing, teaching her the ways of the fatui, operating as your apprentice. Your adorable little apprentice that acts like a living grenade, grinning as she decimates anything in her path. But alas, even someone as evil as you wanted to preserve her carefree innocence for just a little longer before she had to open her eyes to how cruel the world could be.

So, Albedo lets you carry on this little charade of protectiveness, so long as you’re not hurting her. It’s only when you protect him from an onslaught of Fatui soldiers on Dragonspine with your Cryo vision (or, you know, whatever vision reader would have but I just thought it shows that harbinger reader really cares if they’re using CRYO in a snowy environment. Also woukd be kind of funny with Albedo like ‘???? Why are you using Cryo in the SNOW?’ ), did he realise that what you were doing wasn’t out of cunning malice but out of the genuine connection you had made with the two blondes. You weren’t… Insufferable. In fact, you were quite pleasant to be around. But he still has his reservations about you being with such a corrupt group, that’s something he’s always going to be cautious of. And he does warn you, in a not so subtle way:

If you EVER put Klee in danger, Knight, harbinger, status wouldn’t of mattered between the two of you- he would deal with you personally. (I can’t tell if this scares or excites me- reader is probably extremely confused at the emotions it elicits)

Fortunately you knew better than to double cross him, especially when you were slowly falling in love with your enemy… oh no, what did that little girl do to you? She made you all… Soft. And now you’re falling for her brother. You’re an awful harbinger. You knew it was wrong and yet…

Something about this knight captivated you, especially when he brushed your hair behind your ear when it blew in your face, or whispered how you were his favourite muse when the world fell silent and it was just the two of you. Yes. The two of you, hand in hand - cities crumbling, gods falling - as long as you were with him, nothing could stop you.

Albedo would suit morally grey harbinger reader, you’re both flight risks and are willing to do whatever it takes to protect your loved ones. You’re also both incredibly dangerous and have the potential to unleash hell upon the world. Maybe two chaotic souls ground each other, keeping things in balance. But if anyone was to set either of you off… I don’t even think gods could stop the impending doom you both would bring. Thankfully, no one’s tried to do that. Yet.

Hehe. Maybe I went a little overboard but it sparked some inspiration, something I’ve been lacking in (especially today) let me know what you thought about it <3 expand it, if you like.

diluc courting you in this au looks a little like him swooping (literally, in bird form too) into your room with a little bouquet in his beak before he flies off again. maybe even a shiny rock every once in a while, if you manage to coo him into staying just a little longer, he sits on your arm and nuzzles into your hair. or he stays in the nest he built up in the rafters up in your room’s ceiling.

falcons dont sing, but diluc would most definitely hum you lullabies to lull you to sleep. he also brings you injured critters like mice, chipmunks, squirrels, or even baby birds with broken wings after they were hit by the little boys in the village, he just stares in awe at how gentle you are with them, and shakes his head when he catches himself staring a little too long, or when he feels his heart start to beat one more beat too quickly.

your relationship with him starts off a little rocky, because he wants to protect his people and he isnt sure what you were or what you could do, or if you could demolish his world in one fell swoop. it got better, because you were a jewel to have around. but then it got rocky again, because he thought you were making him sick - tummy butterflies, palms sweating, cant stop thinking about you, all the classic symptoms of lovesick - zhongli had to pull him away when he glares at you over dinner. diluc was extremely confused when zhongli said that he wasnt feeling any of the symptoms he was describing and even more when zhongli refused to let you back out into the human world. apparently because it would make him feel worse and he’d be begging to see you again, even if he didnt verbalize it.

diluc learned how to dance for you, particularly the dance meant for couples to dance during the festival that just happened to occur when you arrived. he was a little stiff at first, but the way you laughed and seemed to be having fun made the awkwardness he felt all totally worth it.

he gave you a feather as a farewell gift, attached to a chain of sturdy material he made himself.

albedo as the wizard, warlock, witch, etc. that lives in the middle of the forest. he’s an immortal, and if you paid enough attention to the chattering old women or the overly excited pre-teens and children in the village, you would know that he is the urban legend they talk about. apparently he went missing because zhongli kidnapped him on his way to the neighboring town and chopped him up into little pieces when in reality, zhongli made him an important member in the economy and environment of the forest.

you’re the first human he’s seen in eons, or centuries. or decades. he never really told you how old he was, and you never really cared to ask (never ask a warlock his age unless you wanna turn into a frog every full moon) and he loves listening to your stories about how the world is now over a cup of tea he concocted to enrich your skin and cleanse your body (basically it sounded like a healthy smoothie, but it did taste pretty refreshing) with a faraway look in his eyes.

he also wanted to return to the human world, but he wasnt ready to let go of the magic, power and abilities he held in this one.

gorou and razor are wolf shifters who have never spent a second outside of the safe confines of the forest. they ran straight out at you and knocked you to the ground in a puppy pile when they first catch a hint of your scent. they get defensive when they realize you are not a fairy or any kind of being they’ve seen and venti has to reassure them that you’re a friend.

they ask about the outside world as well, they like touching the things inside the small bag you brought with you inside the forest. razor like napping on your lap while gorou is more inclined to rest against your chest.

the two have a tendency to also pick up shiny rocks for you. not shiny rocks they find along the path and remind them of you, no. the give you shiny rocks that they leapt into tohma’s lake for that remind them of you. it’s pretty funny seeing them soaking wet and hearing tohma loudly cursing in the distance.

flower crowns btw. one for each of you. as soon as you put it on, they will never leave you alone because you three are now a package deal.

kazuha as an entity that only appears at night, or at twilight, when the forest is silent (ooh, maybe elf kazuha? like lotr kind of elves THEY ARE SO PRETTY I STG). at first, you thought the music drifting in through your window was your drowsy mind still stuck halfway between dreamland and reality, but after it happened one too many times, you decided to investigate the sound, you see a man (very pretty man) sitting on a boulder under a tree across the place you temporarily call home, a flute the color of moonlight in his hands.

the first time he catches sight of you was the dawn following the night you fell asleep watching him, lost in the melody and music and the skillful way he handled the instrument and he smiled, managing to properly tuck you back into bed. he’s moved to playing under your window after that, until the day that you grew the courage to invite him inside. 

kazuha couldnt see you off on the day you left, and so he left a flute of your own the night before as you slept on his lap, and the night after you left, only melancholic tunes floated through the trees and into the hearts of the inhabitants. and if you, thousands of miles away from them over mountains and on the other side of oceans, strained your ears enough, you can just barely hear him playing the song that lulls you right to sleep.

you've seen this man in his voice lines, all he does is just worry about your well being

while you're looking for the flowers you absolutely adore ( lets just ignore your pollen allergy for a little ok)

you feel a tap on your shoulder

the only person you'd expect, would be diluc ( who else would it be - kaeya )

he holds out a simple bundle of red flowers, covering his face with his other hand

"diluc, how about you hold my hand for a bit? you seem a bit anxious..." he looks down at your extended arm, waving your hand a bit in the air. "remember what i told you about wandering around dangerous places..?" he takes your hand in his and gives it a light squeeze. "what's so dangerous about this lovely flower field.., how about we look around for some flowers diluc?" you look behind your shoulder, smiling, trying to convince the red head. "alright...maybe just for a few alright?"

"roses...for you. I thought these were fitting for our day-out, as they represent love."

and yes, social anthropology is the same as socio-cultural anthropology but its just a different name i suppose. it is kinda intimidating, in the sense where there’s always a million different aspects of something to think about and to consider whenever you’re talking about anything, nothing is ever just as it is which gets a little frustrating sometimes bc its soooo open-ended haha but its definitely super interesting because of that! and you’re right, it’s super close to psychology too! a lot of my mates do like... soc. anthro with psychology or choose psych modules bc it ties in a lot with the main module, which is really cool! i think psychology is super interesting too, and some days i really wish i’d chosen it as a major instead hahaha

Tier list of tier list (groups)

When one starts to run out of time and ideas, things tend to get a little weird. They get awkward. Add in certain individuals egging you on, and this is how you get one of my sillier ideas.

Essentially, when you boot up Tiermaker, there’s a bunch of default categories staring you in the face. The trending tab of a shite website, basically. And im here to judge the populous for their poor life choices. And the fact that its very clearly U.S.-biased.

Time to roll up my sleeves, get my hipster cred in order, and get to work.

Now, unfortunately, such a tierlist does not properly exist, and I lack the time and interest to actually create one, so this is more of an arbitrary ranking. If you just bring up the main page, it’ll be obvious the fuckery I’m working with. We will be lacking a visual aid if you do not, I’m afraid.

Probably the hardest part of this is picking my bottom pick. Of the 9 categories available here, there are more than a few stinkers. However, I think I’m going to have to give it to NFL, or National Football League for the non-seppos in the room. Not only is it just kind of a shitty sport, being basically rugby/gridiron without the teeth, easily the most boring game of ball I’ve ever seen (and ive watched Cricket before), but it’s also completely redundant on this list, as we’ll see. So it’s a combination of pointlessness and shiteness, one we’ll see a full two more times on this list.

Speaking of, eighth place goes to the Genshin Impact spot. Now, I haven’t played this game, and I don’t know that much about it. What I do know is that it is gacha trash with a bajillion waifus with some of the horniest art this side of Fate- and I don’t have that huge a problem with horny in general but it’s in the uncomfortable anime horny where it’s questionably ethical and might actually be pedophilia. But apparently the game is pretty okay, and I suppose it’s kinda gotten beyond the “just a fad” stage at this point, so I guess that makes it better than NFL.

Our final redundant pick and therefore number 7 on this list by default is the NBA. That two American sports- actually, not just sports, specific sports leagues, get their own spots on this frontpage is frankly depressing. Y’all can do better. This in and of itself is evidence of the USA’s oversaturation in the culture of the English-speaking world, let alone the internet. It’s just frustrating the way they’re overrepresented compared to the comparable population of, well, everywhere else. I guess they do have the most people of any anglophonic nation, but it’s a frustrating thing to see. Where’s my New Zealand rep coming from?

At number 6 we have Sports in general. Look, it aint for me, and I assume this is the cluster that houses all the other American sports as well. NBL, NASCAR, NHL, ETC. Maybe if we didn’t have all those issues with representation I’d be more into this category, but I don’t see any AFL lists reaching the frontpage, so.

Actually, without the USA stuff holding the line, it’d all just be fucking soccer, wouldn’t it. I can’t escape that fucking sport. Fine, it can stay.

Next, perfectly at the centre of this list, we have the kinda not really a category, which is to say, the top of the page, “tiermaker user videos” section. Largely because I don’t know how these work- do people submit them to the site, or does the site farm Youtube for videos with their content and upload it? The former is a little cringy, the latter is probably an issue. Either way, I used to not really respect this kind of content, until I started, uh, writing them myself, and at the end of the day it’s basically just what I’m doing here but with video and audio and editing and shit. They’re probably putting more effort in here than I am, huh.

I’m going to go ahead and put the spicy take here with Video Games. Don’t get me wrong, ya boi loves a good video game, I cannot fucking stop writing about them as frequent readers of this blog will be aware. But every time I boot up this site I have to see the number 3 Featured Video Games entry,  fucking Freddy Fazbear’s face staring back at me. Also number one on there being Danganronpa reminds me of that franchise being very much a guilty pleasure of mine, and one that has gotten popular and thereby cringy enough for me to cringe a little every time I see it.

Speaking of things I’ve written too much about, uhh, food I guess. I wouldn’t be fair of me to put the Food/Drink category any lower considering I have abused it for content at least a couple times. And ya boi does enjoy a food or drink or two. I don’t think that’s a controversial opinion to have, or rather, it probably shouldn’t be. I think we’re all on the side of food good, aside from the anorexics in the room. Shoutout to y’all, you have it rough.

Our second to last and final categories are frankly interchangeable. Music, or Movies/TV. Audio versus Video. Spotify versus Netflix. The Beatles versus The Beatles (the animated series). I dunno, at this point I’ve run out of things to say, shit to type. We’re sitting at 950 words as of the word as in this sentence, and there is a very distracting member of one of these categories playing approximately 3 metres to my right. Which I suppose makes that one win in the end. Whichever one of those it is, you decide.
