I got so in my feels about the announcement of happy ghasts in minecraft, I had to write a little story <3 It's just something short and kinda sweet
Hot air from the lava pool was rising up, getting trapped by the netherack roof. This dimension, a dimension of sweltering heat and suffering, was something new to the player.
A portal, that's all it took. Ten obsidian, mined with a shiny new diamond pickaxe, and a flint and steel, crafted on a well loved crafting bench.
The smell was something undeniably unique, a strange mix of rotten eggs, fungus and death. The player had never seen something... red. Everywhere they turned, it was like looking at the sun, except this was ten blocks in front of them.
Walking through the nether was a challenge, and it was almost impossible. They couldn't count the amount of times they accidentally hit a zombified piglin while mining, causing the entire population to hate them, or how many times the large balloon like beings cried, and shot fireballs at them.
Ghasts, that's what they were. A strange sense of sadness washed over the player, seeing the large white being cry. It looked in pain, it looked sad...
The player pushed any sadness or guilt away, focusing on their task at hand. Netherite. That's why they came here, and they'd be damned if they didn't get when they were coming for.
They walked, and walked, and walked. By now, their gold boots were just about to give up. The player cursed themselves, stupidly having forgotten to bring any spares.
As they walked, they came across a new biome, one they had heard stories about from the villagers close to their base, but never seen themselves. A soulsand valley.
The lighting changed almost immediately, going for the rich reds and oranges, or a cool haunting blue. As they walked, they noticed something. There were so many skeletons, and a lot of bones.
They continued their journey through the biome, stopping to investigate the bones, and that's when they saw it. A ghast, but instead of crying, and trying to kill the player, it was small, and its skin was dried out.
Something hit the player in their blocky chest, an emotion they never wanted to feel for a mod, an evil mob, the enemy.
With slight hesitation, the player picked up the little dried out ghast, cradling it in their arms, and ran.
They ran back through the valley, through the tree like fungi, and through the barren wasteland where their portal lied.
They didn't know what they were doing, what they were thinking, but they wanted to help this little ghast, in any way they could.
Hopping into the portal, feeling like they were against time itself to help the poor thing, the player held the ghast close to their chest.
Leaving the portal, the played walked the hundred or so blocks to their base, and set something up.
It wasn't much, but they hoped it would help. They wade a little three by three wooden square, and placed the little ghast in the middle. After, they walked to the river, getting a fresh bucket of water, and pouring it over the little ghast.
With that, the player headed to bed. Over the next few days, they checked on the ghast, until one day, something happened.
The dried ghast was no longer dry, and on the verge of death. It smiled, it smiled at the player. Floating happily around, exploring its new environment.

huge shoutout to the MCAP (maryland comprehensive assesment program) this year for possibly making the written portion a narrative writing. y'all may not think this is huge, but let me explain:
there are always two stories in the MCAP. literally in the words of my ELA teacher, if there is a narrative writing portion or it is narrative writing, it would be combining those two stories (like if two of the characters met or something).
therefore, we are going to be practicing narrative writing in the classroom to prepare for it, and look at combining stories and exploring characters by writing about them.
so basically schools are teaching kids how to write fanfiction. thank you Maryland for this opportunity. now whenever my parents ask me what I'm doing I can literally just say practicing for the MCAP. this is so funny to me I can't even explain it but it just is I love Maryland.

Cheapest Cost for Manaslu Circuit Trek in Nepal
Tumblr media
If you're planning to trek the Manaslu Circuit and want to keep your budget as low as possible, you're in luck. Despite being a restricted area, the Manaslu Circuit Trek can still be done affordably without compromising on the essentials. Here's a detailed breakdown of the cheapest cost for Manaslu Circuit Trek in Nepal, with tips for minimizing expenses while still enjoying an incredible adventure.
Budget Overview
The total cheapest cost for the Manaslu Circuit Trek typically ranges from $750 to $950 USD per person for a 14–16 day trek. This includes permits, a licensed guide (required by law), food, accommodation, and basic transport.
Permit Costs
Trekking in the Manaslu region requires a combination of special permits:
Manaslu Restricted Area Permit (RAP): $75 for the first 7 days during September to November $100 for the first 7 days during other months
Manaslu Conservation Area Project (MCAP): $30
Annapurna Conservation Area Project (ACAP): $30
These permits are usually arranged by your guide or a local trekking agency. Keep in mind, you need to trek with at least one other person and be accompanied by a licensed guide due to the restricted area status.
Guide Costs
Hiring a licensed guide is mandatory in the Manaslu region. Local guides charge around $25–$30 per day. For a 14-day trek, expect to pay around $350–$420 USD. Booking directly in Kathmandu or Arughat will help you avoid agency commissions and reduce costs.
Accommodation and Food
Manaslu is a teahouse trek, meaning you’ll stay in local guesthouses along the trail. Costs are reasonable:
Accommodation: $3–$6 per night
Meals: $15–$20 per day, mostly local dal bhat, noodles, and tea
For 14 days, the cost for food and lodging typically falls between $280–$350 USD.
Transportation
Getting to and from the trail involves two main travel legs:
Kathmandu to Soti Khola (starting point): $15–$25 by local bus or shared jeep
Dharapani to Besisahar and back to Kathmandu: $15–$25 by local transport
In total, transportation will cost around $30–$50 USD.
Optional Expenses
While not mandatory, you might consider:
Porter: $18–$22 per day (often shared among trekkers)
Travel insurance: $50–$100 if it includes high-altitude trekking
Tips to Save Money
Book your guide locally instead of online
Share your guide or porter with another trekker
Bring your own water filter to avoid bottled water costs
Stick to local meals and avoid expensive snacks or soft drinks
Carry snacks from Kathmandu to avoid inflated prices on the trail
Conclusion
The cheapest cost for Manaslu Circuit Trek in Nepal is very manageable for budget trekkers. With smart planning and local connections, you can complete this stunning Himalayan circuit for under $1,000 USD, while still experiencing everything the remote Manaslu region has to offer. It’s one of the best value-for-money treks in Nepal, combining rugged beauty, cultural immersion, and a rewarding challenge.
