Summary: When Rick C-137 escapes prison and dismantles the Galactic Federation, he expects to be welcomed back, but is instead kicked out of the Smith's home. Rick has nowhere to go until he meets a mysterious engineer who needs his assistance in taking down Worldender before the universe is destroyed. With no other options, he agrees... and gets into far more than he bargained for.

Chapter 9 of Rick and Karl is out. This is a fic I've been working on since last year, that's meant to be a different version of season 3 where things weren't resolved in the pilot episode.

Part one of my Fix-It series, which will focus on three "villainous"/anti-hero protagonists from different media.

The genre is science fiction, but it's meant to break the fourth wall and have elements of psychological horror. Direct references to episodes from different seasons are included. The terminal sections provide interludes between chapters, as well as breaks from drama.

Karl isn't meant to replace Morty entirely- the Smiths will get chapters focusing on them. I tried to take the "oc x canon character" trope and satirize it, or just write it in a way that's bearable to read, so Karl is my attempt at creating a character who Rick could fundamentally rely on without being rejected too much, and provide the resources he needs to heal from trauma. A decent roommate, basically. But the convenience of inserting a "partner" into a character's life that would fix everything is acknowledged here as well. It'll delve into dark subject matter as a result, so mind the warnings.

This fic's official name is The New Adventures of Rick and Karl, but I also refer to it as Rick and Karl for the sake of convenience.

Niamh McCadden

(4 years older) As she trained under Aibreann, she became more and more confident about her powers, thus doing away with her layers and layers of clothing. Unfortunately, during one of these trainings, her electrical powers deflected back towards her, resulting in the subsequent scar she now has. She also has a sharp metal hair piece in which she can use to attack and defend herself with.

You would think that the building where Frank Zappa's Mothers of Invention and Lou Reed's Velvet Underground simultaneously recorded some of their most famous music would have some sort of plaque or historical marker. Instead most people have no idea that this building sits behind the Chick-Fil-A at Sunset and Highland.

The two buildings on either side of it have both been knocked down and are now active construction sites. And although it is not slated for demolition, I don't expect this historic building to survive. I doubt very much that it will still be standing by the time the Los Angeles Olympics rolls around in 2028.

The official address is 1441 McCadden Place. It was here that Frank Zappa recorded the first several Mothers of Invention albums including Freak Out, Absolutely Free, We're Only In it For the Money, and Hot Rats. And it is here that the Velvet Underground made White Light/ White Heat.

Additionally, the Doors recorded Waiting for the Sun in this building, Jimi Hendrix laid down the soundtrack to Rainbow Ridge, the Silver Apples made Contact, and Neil Young recorded Neil Young.

Eric, birthname John McCaddon (McCadden?? IDK I have conflicting info though my Irish brain is leaning toward McCadden) lived most of his life without his father, believing his father's best friend murdered him. Turns out, it was a lie. Little six year old John was left traumatized by this event and grew up not only believing said lie, but also developed the inability to trust people. He is killed at the end of the movie never getting a chance to learn the truth and heal; afterward the Angels learn the truth and they all laugh because the day is saved yayyyy /s And here is where I insert the absolutely necessary hashtag Eric Knox Deserved Better.

Sadly, I've allowed for him to remember what happened, so now he's got the trauma of being murdered on top of the trauma of his dad's death. He isn't really sure what to believe about how he ended up alive and in London of all places. Eric's thrown himself into his business because it's literally the only thing he is certain of now. He needs friends. He really needs therapy.

After the meeting with all of the townspeople, the only people in the room were Anastasia, Chloe, Aubrey, Jessica, Florencia, Jesse, and Luke to strategize on what to do tomorrow “Alright, here’s the plan Luke and Jesse, you will disguise yourselves as guards in the castle so you can get my aunt and my sisters out of the dungeon and bring them here to safety. Florencia, you’re going with Luke and Jesse too, Jessica, and Chloe, you head to The Down Below to find where Rebecca is.” Aubrey instructed them.

“What about me?” Anastasia asks Aubrey.

“I am anointing you as my right hand man, Anastasia. You know I can’t do this alone.” Aubrey answers by putting her hand on the taller woman’s shoulder, she looks into Anastasia’s eyes. The coldness and anger in the eyes of Anastasia when she looks into Aubrey’s eyes is no longer there.

“Do you trust me on this one?” Aubrey asks her, trying to regain her trust once again from the Goddess. Anastasia had second thoughts on trusting Aubrey again, but she brushed the thought out immediately.

Anastasia gives a stern nod to the other woman “Yes.”

As they all left the town hall, Aubrey looks around to see everyone helping each other to put up the barricades, she sees the town’s blacksmith working on weapons in case the guards attack them, they have something to fight back with. Aubrey smiles to see that people do care about the things that surround them and each other, she takes one last look at the townspeople of Grosbinshire and heads back to the house with Anastasia and Jessica to rest up for the day to come.
