i was rereading the part where lxc was telling wwx about his and lwj's parents and specifically his mother and lxc said that mdm lan really liked teasing lwj but when he is being teased lwj becomes quiter and quiter and his face becomes worse and worse or smth like that but he still really wanted to see her regardless 🥺🥺🥺

but then i was like wait. so lwj reacted to his mother's teasing... the same way he reacted to wwx's teasing when they were teenagers? a lot of things to think about

I feel like share one of my favorite illustrations of one of my fav mods! (Monday Dusk Monolith) I STILL SOOO DAMN OBSSESED WITH THEM!! Besides mod being dead with a cancelled revival, I still enjoy draw them cause they have a special place on my heart 🫶 (lie I dont have heart but if I had im sure they would have place)

Some people know I'm addicted to this au so they show me time to time fanarts they do (AND IF YOU DO YOU ABSOLUTELY HAVE TO SHOW ME AND TAG ME TOO ISTG I LOVE THEM SM) they were one of the reasons I did this lol

and heeeeeeres the jiang wanyin (derogatory) design for the wip animatic!

i’m sticking to relatively monochrome character palates for this, but because he’s actually alive he gets to have a not completely purple skin tone

i’ve been in design hell for literal *weeks* drafting and redrafting my lwj, wn, and wq designs because i love them but the -first time- i draw this guy his design is bestowed upon me by god /j and i get this in less than two hours!??

anyways… he’s really fun to draw even if i want to put him in a blender

notes (transcribed):

- lotus petal shaped garments and layers

- similar sharp features (and build) to the Yu clan

- jiang motifs tend to be curved and flowy, so this contrast highlights his insecurity and discomfort with fulfilling the jiang ideals

- the repeated petal motif is pushed to be almost diamond like in order to emphasize the points and it’s seen in his face shape, nose bridge, hair (repeated), shoes, skirt layers, pants, and sleeves

- i imagine that he has a very similar face to mdm yu plus her eye color, physical sharpness, and height (cause i picture mdm yu as being a slight bit taller than jfm) but has his fathers nose, swimmers build, and coloration

I saw your reblog abt the trashy tropes and would like to bring to you attention a fic I read (canon era!) where wwx becomes lan-wei ying after marrying lwj.

Hello anon! Hmm, I never seen that before, actually. To be honest, Wei Wuxian never changed his sirname after marrying Lan Wangji in the novel, and I don't think he ever will, considering how he doesn't like people assigning him to other families.

“The things that foul the mouth when said out loud,” Wei Wuxian said. “My mom and dad are real people and have names. I can’t stand when people blindly assign me to other families!”

He cherishes his parents very much, I doubt he would change his name, which is one of the only things that ties him to his parents.
