I love them all! but if I had to pick a favourite it probably would be Raymond. Bobby's pretty cool too.

I really think that the character of Duck in Sarah and Duck is rather a glorious technical achievement.

He’s the second lead, tied with the Narrator. He is funny and charming and sweet and irritating and frequently steals the show. He has a definite and determined personality. We watch it, and we know him.

And every time I watch the cast list at the end of each episode it looks wrong because Duck isn’t in it. Because of course he isn’t, he is an animated duck, whose voice is made of... actual duck noises. Not a human imitating a duck so that you get the “right” reaction noises. Actual duck noises. Not just that, he’s an animated duck: no wings-that-are-actually-hands, his body language is mostly pretty duck-like, he uses his beak to move objects and his wings to fly or make gestures. His facial expressions use his very big cartoony eyes to good effect, but he has a beak not a mouth. And so on.

So we have Duck’s eyes, the exquisitely well-chosen and well-timed duck sounds, incredibly clever animation that does a lot with relatively little, and the reactions that both Sarah and the Narrator have to him: how much Sarah loves him, how fond the Narrator has become of him. We have his room, the toys he plays with, the quantity of bread he consumes. ;-)

I adore Sarah and Duck on an awful lot of levels, but one is that in its very unassuming way it is a work of fricking genius, and the creation and portrayal of Duck as a character is a big part of that. Good work, chap. :-)

I sing to my daughter at night-time when she goes to sleep and I read to her at bedtime too. I feel like this will be something really cool to show her, so I’m up for reading a CBeebies Bedtime Story!”

Oh if you like textures in music have you ever listened to Cosmo Sheldrake? It's very nice imo.. a lot of sounds. Even birds songs I think they're pretty old..

i will listen to more maybe since i like some of the titles and birds, but only have liked a couple i heard, one that was fun and had a second vocalist (mind of rocks) and one that was extremely barebones and seemed recorded in a forest or something (Green Grass? live). apart from that the sound is a bit too digital for me, like yknow when the drums are digital in something and you notice and then realise theres not as much to grip onto? and in a clean bouncy way that sounds a bit too much like kids tv music to me (his vocals add to to it i think, reminds me of cbeebies or something not sure). not that kids music is bad at alal but its not th vibe i want to listen to rly lol

hold on i need to share with you all a dream i had last night. for context, i think i was really hot and sick last night (still am) and while it wasn't a fever, i don't usually have dreams that actually have a plot, when i have them it's like 10 seconds of wtf.

I got to meet Schneider in his house and Till was there too (I can't really remember why we were there whether it was a birthday or just a random visit) and he was so kind and so sweet and he saw I was uncomfortable and kept offering me candy and I got to meet the schneidlings even tho i have no idea what they look like and for some reason I was messaging @wizzardclown throughout the whole thing and eventually i vibed with the schneidlings (and till for a bit) and helped them out with stuff

Towards the end of the dream Schneider praised me for being helpful (i dropped something and was vaccuming it up) and told me about how the vaccum cleaner went away into storage and we fumbled it up in true medoh/schnoodle fashion and while i was fixing it and while my family were waiting in the car (because i forgot to mention they were there too) Schneider pulled out so many sweets and started offering for me to take them home in a doggie bag kinda deal and I felt so awkward as a 19 year old and he was all like "as a thank you for being so helpful" and I tried to pull the "Schneider I'm a huge Rammstein fan it should be me thanking you" card but he was insisting and I think he almost teared up then Till came in, saw my glucose haul being created and just laughed and bantered with me and I laughed too. Then I woke up, and wrote this down immediately before i lost it.

i think it was a fever dream more than anything because i'm sick right now and usually my dreams star till/flake. i love all of them though, but it just so happens schneider's third after till.

(my top 3 are: 1. flake 2. till 3. schneider if i was forced to rank them.)

this time till was just an elusive creature in the bg. my whole family was there, mum, dad, sister and brother so was uli. i don't blame schneider for being so sweet (although there were some parts where he didn't understand me because being mumbly in any language isn't very efficient 😔 and just went 'hä' in a german way) and i don't blame till for being a silent bg character, also i can't exactly remember what i was messaging wizzard on discord lmao.

also, about the end: i think schneider felt bad that i couldn't relax and used my time to help out his children but understood it was just in my nature to prefer being alone and to do things to keep myself from exploding like a nuke when i visit people, much like tilly bär. plus i was apparently such a good impromptu babysitter he paid me in sweets, maybe next time pay me in money, or something else iykyk (frau) schnoodle ;)

10/10 for wholesomeness but i still feel weird because if i was invited to schneider's house i wouldn't go without at least 3 rammtisch/rammblr peeps on deck because i'd be so nervous 😭 and till being there while great seemed like a weird "and bumblebee!" situation my brain threw in lmaoo

oh yeah and for some reason the schneidlings were watching alphablocks and clangers — two BRITISH shows my brother watches on cbeebies. no idea :(

Say what you will about Barbie I do like that they are honoring women in science.

A space scientist, best known for presenting BBC One's The Sky at Night and CBeebies Stargazing, is to be honoured with a Barbie doll.

Dr Maggie Aderin-Pocock has been named as a Barbie Role Model for her work promoting science careers to girls.

It comes ahead of International Women's Day on Wednesday and British Science Week from 10-19 March. 

"I hope my doll will remind girls that when you reach for the stars, anything is possible," she said.

Earlier this month, the astronomer became the new chancellor at the University of Leicester, which is known for space research.

Dr Aderin-Pocock said she fell "in love with the idea of space travel" as a young girl and had since spent her career "trying to show girls how fascinating space science can be".

"I want to inspire the next generation of scientists, and especially girls, and let them know that STEM [science, technology, engineering and maths] is for them," she said. 

"These subjects are just too important to be left to the guys because through science, you can literally change the world."

Her doll has a starry dress reminiscent of the night sky and comes with a telescope accessory for stargazing, in relation to her work looking deep into space with the James Webb telescope.

Dr Aderin-Pocock said: "When I was little, Barbie didn't look like me, so to have one created in my likeness is mind-boggling.

"It's such an honour to receive this doll that is celebrating my achievements."

Toy creator Mattel, known for releasing dolls in honour of celebrities, is also recognising six other STEM professionals globally. 

Kelly Philp, marketing director at Mattel UK, said: "We know that globally STEM is a field widely recognised as under-representing women, so as a brand, Barbie is committed to showing girls more STEM careers. 

"In the UK, research tells us women make up only 26% of the STEM workforce, so showcasing an exciting career in space science like Dr Maggie's is just one way we are inspiring girls to think differently about their career opportunities."

Other Barbie Role Models include Covid-19 vaccine creator Prof Sarah Gilbert, broadcaster Clara Amfo, sprinter Dina Asher-Smith, teen skateboarder Sky Brown and boxer Nicola Adams.
