Day 2 if @joannehawker's #MeetTheMakerWeek is USP - Unique Selling Point. I think mine is that I hand bind my books in a hard cover. After binding over 300 books, I've gotten the process down to a bit under 4 hours, drying time included (overnighting in the book press to finish not included). #day4 celebrate and must say this one was tough to conjuer... why? Well I don't often stop & think about everything I've achieved I pretty much take things in their stride. This approach has its pros being I suck it up, take action, work smart to achieve & cons being I forgot to praise myself for my day's accolades plus I'm not the best at asking for help so take on alot. Do you find yourself in this position too? So from here on I'm going to makesure everyday I celebrate whether it be quiet contemplation or out there woohooo. Day 3 of #MeetTheMakerWeek is Detail. I love taking up close shots of my books. They're not always easy to photograph (for example, the middle shot is of marbled paper that's pale gold on white - almost white on white). I enjoy picking the headband and ribbon colors, lining things up just so. These shots are all from my next shop update - sign up for my mailing list to hear about it first. ~°~ Image description: three photos. Day 3 of #meetthemakerweek is detail, and I thought I’d show off one of my acrylic pins with all its little details and talk about some of the things I try to include in orders. If you take a close look at this pin you can see I drew every little gold line in the clothing, and while it may be hard to see there is even some color difference in the hair. With every product I make I try to include the highest level of quality detail that I can, no matter if it’s pins, stickers, art prints, or apparel. If you’ve ordered from me in the past as well you’re probably familiar with this, but I try to include an extra gift or two in every order as a way of saying thank you. In orders that aren’t made on demand you can expect a thank you card with all my info, a smaller business card, whatever it is you actually ordered, and usually a sticker or roll of washi tape, sometimes I’ll even include a mini pin for large orders! Everything then gets wrapped up for safety, packed up, and sent off. ✨Celebrate✨ I’m thinking about how far I’ve come in seven years of trading as @theseasidesew from when I started. Those that have stuck with me all this time will know I started with a simple beach but, that then went on a bag! My creative journey has been a really exciting one and I love that when I see some fabric I know exactly what’s it’s going to be. It’s been wonderful to move forward to a more sustainable business focusing on using recycled and repurposed leathers, fabrics etc and this is definitely my way to go.
