I’m just bored, but read it anyways, it’s fun

there sooo many of them, and i’m still pretty lazy so this isn’t perfect, but just let’s start

Mikhailgate

This is practically anti byler theory, but nvm

So, Dimitri has a son named Mikhail, which is russian version of name Michael, Mike

So, people were just saying that instead of Mike, Will will end up with Mikhail(who’s technically Mike bc of the name, yk)

I think everyone was just joking, oh, good ol’ times

and willloveinterestgate is the same

Lettergate/Pocketgate

These theories aren’t the same one, but it’s basically the same concept, ig

The basic thing is, that Mike wrote a letter to Will(singed Love, Mike)

In pocketgate, Mike has the letter saved in his triangle pocket, bc in st, characters many times has letters, that were important to them, in their left pocket(above the heart), for example Hopper and El(Hopper’s heart-to-heart), Jonathan(acceptance letter to college) etc.

And he would just take it out in the middle of confession or sth

+the triangle always points to Will like an arrow

Lettergate is just basically the same, ok, idk how to describe it differently 

Twelvegate

Not exactly a byler, but theory, that Will was number twelve in HNL, and that he’s El’s actual twin

And from that, there’s theory that Will has powers, but wasn’t n. 012

Flickergate

This theory is very lovely! after Will tells Mike that rolled seven in s1, the light behind them flickers

and since ud is frozen on nov6 83, when you signal sth from ud, it should appear at nov6 83-s1

this connects to electricgate(i dunno if sth like this exist, but just keep reading), the electricity~are friends electric~will possibly having electric powers

so mike and will could go together in s5 to ud on a mission or sth, and kiss in wheelers garage, and that would make the light flicker(i’m so good at explaining things, right😐)

will and mike going to ud together is predicted by mike and will sitting on upside down couch in last ep. of s4

Birthdaygate/Memorygate

Soo, remember how they forgot Will’s birthday? what if all wills memories, that people reminded him of in the shed are gone? his birthday, building castle byers, meeting mike… and that’s why mike says that his life started the day he found her, bc he doesn’t remember meeting Will

for me, it’s really weird, they couldn’t just forget Will’s birthday, no, this ain’t it

Kiss at lovers lake

I’m not sure if this has a different name, but it’s that their first kiss will be near lovers lake

evidence: patrick(the kid who died at lovers lake), had a nickname “berlin wall” or sth(we saw this in the school newspaper), and it was devided to four, same as hawkins

and song heroes is abt couple who lived at different sides of berlin wall, and idk, it just connects, okay?

when will painted the map of hawkins while he was possessed, mike was holding blue and yellow meter

Eightfifteengate

Context: will left the wheelers at 8:15 in s1

in s1e1, time mark 8:15 is literally the shot where will disappears in the shead

i think there’s a season 2 soundtrack called eight fifteen

tw: time fuckery: while will was recording on halloween night, the time says 8:04 while he’s recording mike saying “did you agreed with this?”, but when joyce rewatches it, it show 8:15(byler)

theory, that after mike’s “love” confession to el, they went to a motel for sleep, and mike and will had to share a bed, and we could possibly see flashbacks of it in s5, and it would kinda explain the two day skip

Colorgate

blue and yellow meet in the west, i’m sure you know this one, and there’s sooo many evidence in this

Bloopers from byler scenes, basically, for example “not when i was the spy, oh fuck”, basically Finn and Noah being all giggly, i guess

Sth like, that when there’s some fight happening between characters, if curtains are open, it means they’re open with their feeling and opposite 

Example: milkvan make out scene-closed, but you don’t love me fight-opened

Bonus: „ but they like the curtain. people like us are just trying to look behind the curtain”(my very bad quotation of murray, yk what i mean)

Also, Suzie had blue and yellow curtains, and they were opened

And, “and i love her and i can’t lose her again”? Also curtains closed, like wtf, this fandom is crazy

piggybackgate

El knows abt Mike and Will. she saw how they act around each other, she’ve heard will saying “you’re the heart” to mike, saw that mike has Will’s painting now

New Coke Theory

basically, old coca colla is mileven, new coke is byler. it contains some of the old ingredients(mike), and new ones too(will). not everyone likes(bc its gay ship). and when you look at scenes with can of new coke, it’s many times symbolizing byler vs. milkvan

one of my favorite new coke theory examples is this: in s3, after el gets attacked by the flesh monster, she tries to crash a can(but she doesn’t have her powers, so she can’t). this is a can of new coke(byler) and she can’t crush that/destroy it. and in this scene, we get a flashback to the lab, where she crushes aka destroys regular coke(mileven)

Whos watching life in Hawkins??

This hit me earlier when I realized all four stories of st4 had someone/ something being a know-it-all god or a heterodiagetic narrator watching and knowing everything all at once.

But not everywhere (pun intended)

All four storylines have both types of narrators:

A homodiegetic one, this being a character involved in the story and showing their prescription of things

A heterodiagetic one, aka the know-it-all god, recording and watching all the other characters.

Homodiegetic:

For the Hawkins plot it was max. For California it was Will and Mike. For the lab it was eleven, and for the prison it was Hopper (and I think Joyce on her way there, since the prison plot is somehow separate from Joyce and Yuri's plot).

I can tell, because we SEE all of those characters feelings displayed on screen in one way or another. Max was curious during the curse, therefore bringing the whole team together, Wills lingering in California was also shown through him only, Hopper's desparation and fear for joyce not making it safe ect.

The only one I'm on the fence about is Mike, since the last time we got a scene from his prospective was in s2 or at the rain fight in s3 I think. Aka, Mike's pov was not shown enough in s4, but it was there.

Heterodiagetic narrator:

This might sound tricky at first but it's not. Even though this narrator is not supposed to be a character at all: instead, they're just a messenger who convey the story from the writer to the reader (as all narrators do). They're a ghost, an entity, aka the camera of the characters.

But in this case, the narrator is in the show. Each plot has its own one, and that's what considered a god of their own nature.

I realized this from the security cameras and the memory storage of Brenner in Nina scenes. He was keeping and choosing which ones to show to El, aka choosing her path instead of her, which becomes clear in the show later on.

In Alaska, there was also security footage to which jopper had also access to later on.

As for California, they were also recorded/watched at some point. When? Right before the shooting.

The jokes about house arrest in this scene made me think the guards that were supposed to keep them same weren't just sitting, they were most likely recording the activity in the house due to protocol (at least i wanna believe it, considering Mike's house was anf might still be bugged since the end of s1 and the flashbacks in s2).

Also, in the van, they were most likely watched by El after she gained her powers.

And if all of these plots were watched by someone, then who was watching Hawkins?

Vecna.

I realized it from this video; vecna was legit searching for a source, another mind to curse in order to complete his plan.

The camera panning made me think he had access to anyone he wanted to. He could've chosen literally anyone in replacement of mike, but he went for Patrick instead.

Why? Because he knew he was in the same group with Lucas and Jason. As we saw, attacking Patrick triggered not just these two, but in total five people and the entire Hawkins team.

And became the wirters chose to plot wise.

My point is, the dynamics changed after his death, even in the slightest, bringing Lucas closer to max.

Now, because these gods are characters too, their own thoughts may interviene with what we see/ are shown, therefore leading everything back to homodiegetic or 1st person pov.

The main occupants here are Henry and of course, Brenner. Its like a domino effect, once brenner was watching one and now one is watching hawkins.

Their motives also beg to differ; Brenner was focusing more and only on logic, hence one disobeyed that rule and only relied on emotions, especially anger, to get his powers to their fullest potential, and thats what he also taught eleven.

But the main know it all god; The Mindflayer.

It literally watches everyone. Dustin said it himself:

A five star general that can open gates and watch. Tell us just His side of the story, messing with others memories, especially Wils, and everything related to him and el.

Aka, he can just change every detail he wants simply because he was watching.

Because his lenses were stronger than the other characters, and becuase he had and still has a devoted spy. A spy that can absorb information from inside.

And that spy is Will. even in season 4, even in the byler scenes, EVERYWHERE.

That kiiinda sounds like a hyperboly, but because the connection was there, it doesnt mean it was strong. The closer he got to hawkins, the stroger it got, thats why he felt him so intenesely at the cabin.

And here comes the unreliable narrator.

Most scenes are not shown excactly how things happen. Theyre not objective, theyre subjective, given how at least one persons pov is always involved.

This is also why there are a lot of variations of just one memory, why the void version of their timeline is slightly differrent, and why even though will saw mileven happy during the rinkomania skating scenes, an outsiders pov showed how they actually felt, dissapointed by everything.

One other thing id like to add, will MIGHT be playing the god role here too, taking in mind his ongoing connection with vecna and how this could eventually be displayed in vecnas mind if he wanted to. Hence the whole spy thing.

There was a post i read about El trading places with max and exchaging herself with a variant from another timeline, and that adds another layer to the unreliable narrator imo, thinking how the two days later el has different memories and knowledge than the el we knew from before and is now possibly dead.

The thing is, this unreliable narrator thing has SO many layers, and therfore shapes somewhat smalll plot holkes within scenes, especially in s1,2 and 4.

And it got even messier im 3 given hoe focusing solely on the mainstream 80's summer slasher movie vibe, some characters arcs were lost or outshined by others that had the chance to change their arcs for the better.

Yes, im talking about will who was sidelined a lot and then this was decided to be used as a weapon for the connection between him and the ud.

All the arcs are intertwined, but i CANT solve this untill we get s5. Its honestly frustrating like GIMME THE SOLUTION BRUHHHH

pt 2 to my post that i was too lazy to add an explanation for. i plan on adding more things too.

basically the first scene of season 3 is Russians using the Key to try open a gate. then in the very next scene, and throughout the entire first episode we get references that are related to time, opening doors (i’m still unsure what that means) and forgetting. which could be references to not only memorygate/birthdaygate, but also eightfifteengate, how the UD is stuck on that one specific day plus the possibility of time fuckery occuring. depends how you interpret it.

1) Mike and El make out to Never Surrender by Corey Hart.

"just a little more time is all we’re asking for" about the characters in both this and the previous seasons needing more time. the best example off the top of my head is Mike. in s1e1 he needs 20 more minutes for the campaign and this is the first appearance of a "fifteen after" which is the time Karen interrupts them. eightfifteengate exists for a reason, theres lot of 8:15 and fifteen afters in this show. and this sets off Ted’s tv not working properly, the lights flickering, Mike’s strange behavior (as if he wasnt himself huh) when Will mentions the seven, then proceeds to vanish. in s4e1 Mike is busy reading letters from El but gets interrupted as it turns out its ten after and he has to hurry. you see what i mean?

"cause just a little more time could open closing doors" again the thing with needing time and how it could open doors. i’m still on the fence about the closing/opening doors, whether its supposed to represent the gates, or something less literal like doors in your mind, maybe both. it also interests me how this scene has both El with the power to open gates to another dimension and Mike associated with needing time, being late.

Mike tries to sing along but gets interrupted, you see the pattern?

just while Hopper is watching tv, idk what he is watching, but the man is next to a car and talking about "working the lock" (again with the closing/opening doors), and saying to not look at the dogs *cough cough* demodogs *cough cough* but he ends up failing and looks at them.

Hopper then spots Mike and El making out. he gets upset and El uses her powers to close the door. Hopper runs up and insists it must be open atleast three inches and tells her to open the door.

2) Mike ends up leaving, goes to the cinema. thats where Will’s Spidey senses activate and he has flashbacks to the MF, etc. they are seeing the movie Day of the Dead, which is about a zombie apocalypse that ruined the world. they show us a scene of dr Sarah Bowman touching a calendar (again, time. and how the UD is stuck as a version of Hawkins at one point in time) then a bunch of hands bursting through the wall.

3) Jonathan and Nancy, in a hurry, because they forgot to reset clocks. so we have references to clocks which is Vecna’s thing, the characters being late and needing more time, and forgetting things.

All while Open the Door by Gentlemen Afterdark plays, tying this to that thing with opening/closing doors.

We cut to Joyce and these stupid magnets.

"love that was new to you" again, passing time. i also cant deny that somehow emotions, love, feelings, relationships could be tied to all this.

"you open up the door" in relation to the thing above, certain types of emotions could be required to either open or close the 'doors'.

"i fall in love with these. i crawl out on the floor" s5e1 the crawl, anyone?

also these certain lyrics in the song later on… "this room, there is no door. there is no waiting around. my mind, it has a door. it opens with a shout".

Dustin’s mom tells him that he was away and everyone could have forgot, then he looks out the window, as we get "you open up the door". memories, memories, memories. they are locked away behind a closed door that you just need to find a way to open. (reminder: positive memories give strength and can be used to fight back against Vecna and MF)

4) "some days wont end ever. and some days pass on by. i’ll be workin here forever…" some days wont end ever, like, say, the day UD is stuck on? forever…

5) an invention by Dustin he calls the Forever Clock. tied in to the above ^^^ with also the ref to Vecna, and possibly the existence of a time loop.

6) Dustin is showing off his inventions and we see Lucas and Max talking. earlier on he got sprayed at by Dustin. he asks if she has a new zit which upsets Max and she places him under the running water, specifically his eyes that got hurt thanks to Dustin, as he screams in agony. a method Vecna uses on his victims, he fucks up their eyes, and Max that goes out of her way to hurt Lucas like this, becomes a victim of Vecna and loses her ability to see, held by Lucas as she’s dying.

this convo when Hopper comes in to talk about how he bullied politely convinced Mike into distancing himself from El is interesting imo. we literally get a Master of Puppets reference, Joyce is the one that wrote the speech for Hopper to use. the master controls the puppets, and theres a lot of this in the supernatural parts of the show. the hivemind. MF taking control of Will and using him as a puppet. Vecna’s victims too practically become puppets when in the trance.

then the question if Hopper remembered everything - memories, as i mentioned before, specifically the good ones, are what can save the puppet. Max got the strength to free herself thanks to memories and music. Will couldnt cut off all the strings but still could break free for a bit to be able to tap out the Morse code in the shed.

getting to Mike is the key. could that mean that Mike will be necessary to "open a door"? Vecna already has the gates he needed, no point in any more. this can only mean unlocking a door in your mind, maybe even to access memories.

now, whose mind would it be? why, of all people, would Mike be the one doing this? and how?

I hated it until memorygate. I don’t know if you’ve read up on that (my pinned post from 2022 has most info on it) but it’s there if you’re interested in a potentially in-universe supernatural explanation.

Either way though, I do agree that without memorygate being a thing, it would be completely unnecessary angst and would make zero sense.

Like in keeping with the whole memorygate/birthdaygate thing where they posted all like ‘oh have we forgotten something?’ 🤔 on Will’s birthday on purpose

They deliberately shared photos of all characters except Will, totally ignored any mention of him, and weren’t even asked anything in interviews about him, it was like nobody in the world gave a shit. It was next level PR stunt stuff

I didn’t actually get to see how it played out, but it all tied into the idea that Will has slowly been fading into the background, and had finally been erased entirely. They were even talking about the painting as though it actually came from El, and the byler tag was in shambles because we were so gaslit and confused

Anyway just wanted to share because it was awful lol, now I’m even more eager to see our first BTS photos of Will 😅

Roboppi vs. Blood Shepherd & Emma starts. This Duel showcases Emma's remaining Altergeists alongside Roboppi's Appliancers, including her initial LINK-4, Altergeist Memorygant. She will get another one with higher ATK in Duelist Nexus.

Roboppi's actual goals of humanity's destruction are revealed, obviously presented to be because he is still stuck within limitations of his program as a cleaning robot. This will be important later on.

Episode preview does not present Roboppi as the anti-hero as his goals are revealed, unlike previous episode, though Ai is still presented as such.

The significance of the byler scene in Will’s room just hit me.

Think about it. Mike said the best thing he’s ever done was ask Will to be his friend.

So I don’t ever want to hear anyone downplaying the importance of that scene in 4x04. Mike was literally beaming and smiling more than we’ve seen him smile in ages, and there’s a reason for it! Because he was out here recreating the best thing he’s ever done 😭
