mercury square the nodes
kind of like a mini mercury retrograde but without so many mis-sent texts. stuff like that happens to bring you back on track with your fate/destiny/wyrd, but not just to make trouble, over the next couple of days. it's more about people from the past becoming part of your future, or meeting people who you will have beside you for the rest of your life.

2024 Aquarius Full Moon
Monday, August 19, 18:26 UT, 27°15’ Aquarius
Chart erected for Washington, DC
Tumblr media
The key phrases for the Full lunar phase are “culminate, fulfill, illumine, manifest;” and “pour all our efforts and energy into our intentions.”
The first thing to notice is how little Cardinal sign energy there is - if we take out Lady Asteroids, Centaurs, and TNOs, there’s nothing left!! (Only the Nodal axis, which isn’t involved in anything.) So we’re dealing with things that have already been set in motion - we don’t have a lot of “push” to start anything new.
The Full Moon is part of a tight Fixed sign grand cross. The Leo Sun is conjunct Mercury Rx and Vesta, giving it a scholarly bent. An Aquarius Moon is usually going to require some emotional distance. It’s sensitive to crowd dynamics; and being opposed to the Sun, Merc, and Vesta, we have some long-standing issues between being our unique selves, and feeling alienated from the crowd.
Uranus/Taurus squares both ends of the Full Moon. It’s stationary at the moment and will go retrograde in a couple of weeks - this greatly concentrates the energy. Surprise events irritate what balance we have between authenticity and community.
The asteroids Pallas and Lilith, in Scorpio, also square the Full Moon, and oppose Uranus. We need to do some deep psychological digging; it’s a smart idea to use our anger and alienation in constructive ways.
As if that weren’t enough, there’s a tight mutable t-square as well: Venus/Virgo opposes Saturn Rx and Nessus Rx in Pisces, all of whom are squared by Mars and Jupiter in Gemini. Some really rancid sexism already is beginning to emerge - consider the statements of US vice presidential candidate Vance about the roles of women. Mars and Jupiter together is cocky; and in Gemini, that cockiness issues forth verbally. Mind your mouth! Try for more generosity of spirit.

astro notes: daily transits 9/15
Sunday, 9/15, holds a mix of challenging and healing energies. While the day starts with a tense Mercury–Eris sesquiquadrate, setting the stage for potential misunderstandings or conflicts, the Aquarius Moon works to balance out the tension with its trines and sextiles to Jupiter, Chiron, and Eris, encouraging optimism and emotional healing. However, the key transit today is Mars squaring the Moon’s nodal axis, highlighting unresolved issues related to personal boundaries and independence versus codependency. This aspect has the potential to stir old emotional wounds or ignite quarrels that we may have thought were behind us.
Key Influences
Mercury Sesquiquadrate Eris: Difficult Conversations and Misunderstandings: The day begins with a tense sesquiquadrate between Mercury in Virgo and Eris in Aries, creating an atmosphere ripe for disagreements. Mercury governs communication, while Eris, the dwarf planet of discord, thrives in situations of strife. This aspect suggests that conversations may quickly devolve into arguments, especially if unresolved grievances or frustrations come to the surface. The sesquiquadrate aspect indicates that this tension may feel inevitable, even if the disagreement seems minor at first. It’s best to avoid bringing up controversial or sensitive subjects in the morning, as people may be more prone to reacting defensively or provocatively.
Aquarius Moon: Emotional Detachment and Objectivity: The Moon continues its journey through Aquarius, encouraging emotional detachment and intellectual objectivity. The Aquarius Moon helps us see things from a broader perspective, making it easier to navigate interpersonal conflicts or emotional upheavals without getting too caught up in them. However, while the Moon in Aquarius supports a lighthearted and independent approach, its efforts to maintain emotional equilibrium may be undermined by more intense planetary configurations later in the day.
Moon Trine Jupiter, Sextile Chiron and Eris: Optimism, Healing, and Emotional Balance: The Aquarius Moon forms a supportive trine with Jupiter in Gemini at 11:04 a.m., enhancing optimism and encouraging expansive thinking. This aspect helps to counterbalance the tense Mercury–Eris energy from the morning, as it promotes open-mindedness and the ability to find silver linings in challenging situations. Later in the day, the Moon also sextiles Chiron (2:24 p.m.) and Eris (6:55 p.m.), offering opportunities for emotional healing and reconciliation. The Moon–Chiron sextile encourages us to address old wounds with compassion, while the Moon–Eris sextile suggests that we can navigate discord with more ease and find innovative ways to resolve conflicts.
Mars Square the Nodal Axis: Tension Between Independence and Codependency: The most significant aspect of the day is Mars in Cancer forming a square to the Moon’s nodal axis (Aries–Libra), also known as Mars at the "bending" of the nodes. This transit can create a sense of tension between our personal desires for independence (North Node in Aries) and the lingering pull of past relationships or codependent patterns (South Node in Libra). Mars, the planet of action and aggression, in sensitive Cancer, may ignite old emotional wounds or reawaken conflicts we thought were resolved. This square can bring up issues around personal boundaries, caregiving, and how we assert ourselves in relationships. It’s a time when old habits or relationship dynamics resurface, demanding attention and resolution.
Integrating the Influences
Navigating Tense Conversations and Conflict: Mercury Sesquiquadrate Eris: The morning's tense Mercury–Eris sesquiquadrate suggests it’s wise to avoid bringing up difficult or controversial topics. If a conversation starts to escalate into an argument, it’s best to pause and step back rather than push forward. Eris can ignite conflicts around fairness and justice, so it’s important to be mindful of any deep-seated frustrations that may arise. Instead of reacting impulsively, take a more diplomatic approach and use the Aquarius Moon’s influence to maintain emotional distance and objectivity.
Embracing Optimism and Emotional Healing: Moon Trine Jupiter and Sextile Chiron: The mid-morning trine between the Moon and Jupiter encourages a more positive and open-minded outlook, offering a window of optimism and generosity. This is a great time to focus on solutions rather than problems. The Moon’s sextile to Chiron later in the afternoon enhances opportunities for emotional healing. If conflicts from the morning have left you feeling raw or vulnerable, this is a chance to address those wounds with compassion and understanding. The Aquarius Moon helps you approach healing from an intellectual and detached perspective, allowing you to gain insight into your emotional responses without being overwhelmed by them.
Facing Old Patterns in Relationships: Mars Square the Nodal Axis: The square between Mars in Cancer and the nodal axis is likely to stir up unresolved issues related to personal boundaries and relationship dynamics. If old habits of codependency or self-sacrifice resurface, it’s important to recognize these patterns and make conscious efforts to break free from them. Mars at the bending of the nodes often brings up feelings of frustration or anger, particularly if we feel like we’re not being true to ourselves in our relationships. This is an opportunity to assert your needs and desires in a healthy, balanced way, without falling back into old, unhealthy patterns.
Balancing Independence and Cooperation: Mars in Cancer and the Nodal Axis: The tension between Mars in Cancer and the nodal axis highlights the struggle between asserting your personal needs (North Node in Aries) and maintaining harmony in relationships (South Node in Libra). While Cancer’s energy is protective and nurturing, Mars here can be defensive or reactive. The challenge is to find a way to assert yourself without feeling the need to either dominate or submit. By recognizing where you’ve fallen into codependent or self-sacrificing roles in the past, you can begin to break free from those dynamics and move towards a more balanced expression of independence and cooperation in your relationships.

Aries risings and eclipses: comebacks and rebrands
There's a few celebrities that caught my attention in the past couple of weeks and I felt the urge to look at their charts and talk about them a bit. What I've quickly realized is that
they're all Aries risings and we just went through a total eclipse in Aries and are still battling through a Mercury retrograde (also in Aries). So, this is an Aries rising-only astro news compilation.
Shakira
During the recent Easter break I found myself having a Shakira moment, reminiscing on her old hits and belting out Underneath Your Clothes. I thought that's probably thanks to Mercury just stationing retrograde, which often makes people go back to old stuff. And then I thought
What if everyone's having a Shakira moment now?
Tumblr media
And this is when I realized suddenly she's everywhere: giving a surprise show at Times Square, being a guest on Hot Ones, giving a ton of new interviews that flood my YouTube recommend page. She just released a new album but seems like this is a huge reset for her and her name is, once again, on everyone's lips. Shakira is an Aries rising and an Aries Venus with nodes in her 1st and 7th axis - she's not quite an eclipse baby (although almost a Full Moon baby!) but nodes close to her axis may make her sensitive to eclipse seasons. Her ascendant ruler, Mars, is exalted in the 10th house in Capricorn, giving her a slow and steady rise to success and a grounded, solidified place in the public eye.
Interestingly, she received an MTV Vanguard award just last autumn at a time of her exact reverse nodal return, which already foreshadowed things for her.
Her new album was released on March 22nd this year, just a couple of days after Sun ingressed into Aries and a few days before the eclipse. What's important to note that she's also going through her Jupiter return in Taurus. Mercury retrograding in her 1st house makes people and the media reminisce on her career and what she achieved up to this point. Of course a planet retrograding in someone's 1st house can cause a hiccup of some sorts and that happened in her case as well - there was a small outrage surrounding her comments on the last year's Barbie movie and how she and her sons hated it.
Jojo Siwa
Switching lanes let's get to someone that is now talked about in the media excessively but for the wrong reasons and that is
Jojo Siwa. Now, I had to read up on her after I saw people poking fun at the way she's presenting herself but apparently, she was all rainbows and sunshines until she changed her color palette to black and is now calling herself edgy and groundbreaking. She was on Toddlers and Tiaras I believe
 so you get the vibe.
Tumblr media
Siwa is a Taurus stellium (makes sense with the bows and glitter) with Aries rising, of course. Her ascendant ruler is right next to Neptune in the 11th house, which can bring potential problems when it comes to how she's being received by the public. The badazzledness of the sweet sweet Taurus is amped up by the flashy Jupiter in Leo (opposed by that Mars and squared by Mercury, certainly adding to the loudness of her personality and the, let's say, overall audacity).
The nodes are pretty significant for her as well, as her Sun is accompanied by the north node (really intensifying the Sun's radiant quality) and
she's actually an eclipse baby, being born in the middle of the eclipse season, only three days after a total lunar eclipse in Scorpio. So we have double the strength of having eclipses in her 1st-7th house axis, as well as being an eclipse child in general.
So the "rebranding" seems, well, on brand for her at this time. But again, Mercury retrograding in her 1st house seems to not serve her well, especially given she has it retrograde natally as well. Uranus being co-present in her sign, a bubbly Taurus, paired with Jupiter, which is still a pretty badazzled planet, didn't result in a true 180° switch that she aimed for. In turn we got a somewhat inflated (Jupiter) sense of self and a warped view of things.
But the plus side is that the current Jupiter transit also helped her gain popularity as her video for the new song passed 23 million views on YouTube. Talk about expansion!
Rihanna
Rihanna didn't make a comeback in the same sense Shakira did but she surely made people talk. The singer is allegedly an Aries rising but she also has quite an Aries planetary party with Moon, Venus and Jupiter there as well. And in a true Aries fashion, even if she's not necessarily doing much with her career at the moment, she made sure to remind everyone of herself, especially that she's also in her 1st house profection year so it's all about "ME!" - something an Aries loves.
Tumblr media
Rihanna made the headlines by doing a fashion spread for the Interview Magazine. And, to be more precise, by posing in a nun-inspired outfit. The cover photo made some people outraged, while others were sighing in awe. The news broke pretty much on the eclipse (the morning after I believe).
Rihanna dabbles in these high-fashion, obscure themes probably because of the mixture of her Pisces Sun (religious themes? She surely went all-in for the Catholic-themed MET Gala a few year back) and her Aries stellium in the 1st. The ram likes to shock and be bold and sexual but considering she also has Moon and Venus - two feminine planets - in the sign, makes her bold and daring in her fashion choices as well.
Billie Eilish
The last person I want to talk about is
Billie Eilish. I know, I KNOW, you may think "but she's a Pisces rising!". Well Billie somewhat went through a different kind of rebrand and it's that her birth certificate has just been obtained and according to the new info, she is, in fact an Aries rising.
Tumblr media
The confusion might be there although if, like me, you see a massive Pisces influence in her, her "new" ascendant ruler is Mars
in Pisces! A corrected birth time is a big deal already, especially given the eclipse and Mercury retrograde - both helped "refresh" her astrological persona and "status" as an Aries ascendant. But that is not all, as on the day of the eclipse Billie announced a brand new album that she will debut on May 17th.
EDIT: Billie is also an eclipse baby! Born just 4 days after a Solar Eclipse. So this is even more fitting.
What's great about this date is that Mars will already be in Aries, probably making her a lot more active. Also, that is only one day before Jupiter cazimi and Venus conjunct Uranus - a great time to release new things into the world. Interestingly, Venus and Uranus will conjoin just a couple of degrees away from Billie's lot of fortune in Taurus. I truly love when astrology is doing its thing.

My chart is in the inside and Noel Tyl's is on the outside.
For whatever reasons, people think that comparing aspects between horoscopes gives important insights into the relationship. It's not the case. I once had a couple who knew a few ounces of astrology. They were all excited because his Jupiter was exactly conjunct her Moon and her Jupiter was conjunct his Moon-Ascendant conjunction. When they called for a consultation, they did so together. I said, "Nope, I'll do you separately."
His horoscope showed a Uranus-Mercury opposition, both squared by Jupiter. Hers has a Mercury-Saturn conjunction. That is two decidedly different ways that each needs to think. His need is individualistic instead of following what the status quo is. Her need is to follow the status quo. The relationship lasted 6 months!
What counts more than anything is each individual horoscope. Number of contacts is something that shows natural chemistry when there are a lot of them. Outside of anyone named Fearrington, Noel Tyl was one of the three most important people in my life. We met in August, 1976 and it was an immediate marriage. We were instantly close. In the 90's when I started getting articles published in astrology books, he asked me to be a part of his - Astrology Looks At History and Astrology of The Famed. He received a call one day from a woman in Johannesburg who wanted his methodology taught there. He asked me to do it! I was in Johannesburg teaching for 13 months. While there, he asked me to write a book that would introduce newbies to his work. In 1999, Llewellyn published my book, "The New Way To Learn Astrology." He asked me to take over his web site, students, and some of his clients a year before he passed away. That's a lot! He could have asked a zillion people to do all that stuff but he asked me.
Look at all the contacts between our charts!!!! There is nothing that doesn't make contact between them. What the contacts are is irrelevant except for the Nodal Axis contacts. Anytime two people have mutual Nodal Axis contacts (2.5-3 degree orb), there's a spiritual, even metaphysical context to it. In my family (wife, two sons), we all have Nodal Axis contacts. Same with my two brothers. Back in the day I played on a big hit record called Back Together Again by Roberta Flack And Donny Hathaway. The lead writer and producer was James Mtume. We had (he passed away a few years ago) Nodal Axis contacts. Don't overlook them!

The Basic Meaning of Planets Square the Lunar Nodes
these are like generic versions you really need the entire chart, but a jump off point for you to start with. I am currently working on getting the material up for you on the trauma that would come along with placements, But take these as if you are reading a placement of a planet in a certain house or sign. Much more information needs to be accounted for to get you a true reading, but this is a good start point.
Tumblr media
Sun:
The Sun square node can indicates that the main part of the chart holder's current life energy and purpose (the Sun) is to resolve their issues symbolized by the square to the nodal axis, through house and sign and through the node it resolves through. This placement indicates the current life of the chart holder as the critical one for the resolution of unresolved material. This unresolved material is experienced in this life as part of the core nature of the individuality and sense of personal meaning. This placement has echoes of the symbolism of the hero’s journey and can involve the individual having to create or maintain a personal vision in isolation or in conflict with others around them in their life. As such it represents a challenge to identify as an individual.
The Moon:
When the Moon squares the nodes we can anticipate unresolved issues within the family of origin, with the formation of the personality and with the emotional body. There may be specific unresolved material involving the mother or primary caregiver. There will be an fundamental insecurity in the personality or a tendency to project the experience of security or happiness outside the self onto the family, or significant others. This placement may indicate unresolved gender issues. There may be dissatisfaction with gender roles, with issues stemming from the bias of our culture and the resulting suppression of the feminine. Or there may be a recent gender switch between this incarnation and the previous one, resulting in a strong identification with the opposite gender.
Mercury:
When Mercury squares the nodes we are alerted to the possibility of unresolved issues in the mental life of the individual. This can include overly rigid thinking or excessively restless curiosity that lacks discrimination as to the kind of material the mind is taking on board. This placement may represent an issue with internalized messages or introjects of a critical nature that undermine the strength of the personality. Such internalized guilt, emphasized in the 6th house/Virgo archetype, can become the basis for internal shame and/or a masochistic tendency. This placement may indicate a range of communication issues – for example an issue with trusting the opinions of others. Lies or conflicting views as to the nature of the truth may have had profound consequences in prior lives.
Venus:
When Venus squares the nodes we are looking at unresolved material pertaining to how a person relates to themselves and therefore the way they relate to others. The range of possibilities can extend from extremes of isolation to excessive social activity that leads to a loss of identity through exhaustion. This placement can indicate an issue with projected meaning, or not seeing the true reality of others due to our transference onto them. We might transfer unresolved issues onto our partners and friends, co-opting them to play roles in our own inner drama. This placement can also refer to a life-threatening situation whereby the self has become highly anxious, causing great difficulty in relating to its own needs. It can indicate a situation whereby the person needs to learn to be alone, to love and accept themself before being able to meet others on an equal footing.
Mars:
When Mars squares the nodes the nature of the unresolved material pertains to the nature of desire and the instinctual will. The range of possibilities here includes unresolved anger, unresolved sexual feelings and physical or sexual violence. Anger with or from others could be threatening to stability just as hidden anger could also be at play, its passive toxicity being part of the problem. This placement can signify situations whereby the will has become co-opted in some fashion and the person is overly compliant or feel lost. We could also see a situation in which excessive dominance has distorted the soul’s original intention. This placement can indicate an unmet need for independence which can then be a source of suppressed anger. But the unmet need can also express as a source of paradox in relationship, whereby the freedom to grow with another is desired but a subconscious fear of entrapment prevents this need being fulfilled meaningfully.
Jupiter:
When Jupiter squares the nodes the nature of the unresolved material relates to the person’s beliefs, the teachers or teachings that they have followed and their relationship to faith. This skipped step can indicate an issue with honesty, either through a conflict of how the their truth has been perceived, or through an inner lie – the nature of the inner lie often stemming from internal exaggeration at the expense of the true picture of the nature of the self. This untruth can become the basis for a crisis of self or, if exposed publicly, can also change the level of trust someone has placed on you, thereby changing the belief system they have about you. This placement can signify a crisis of faith or a conflict within the self about an understanding of the truth, or an issue with a teaching they have followed. This crisis of faith becomes a fundamental doubt in the capacity of the person to understand their place in the greater scheme of things. This can therefore indicate an issue with alienation.
Saturn:
When Saturn squares the nodes the nature of the unresolved material relates to the conditioning that the individual has been exposed to, either through the family, society, religion or by any broader historical societal theme. Such conditioning then becomes the basis for repression. The Saturn skipped step can indicate a need for taking responsibility for one’s own life at a core level without succumbing to the temptations of blame, excessive fear, or self-control. This placement can indicate an issue of genuine guilt, an authentic sense of having done something wrong (the nature of which will be indicated by the house/sign/aspects). In contrast to the internalized guilt found in the Mercury/Virgo/6th house archetype, which is internalized from others blaming or criticizing, the Saturn archetype involves the self recognizing past mistakes and making direct reparation for those mistakes.
*This placement emphasizes the importance of the Saturn Return 1 and/or 2.
*Uranus:
When Uranus squares the nodes the unresolved material indicates a need for liberation from conditioning, and liberation from the past. This stems in part from a past wound or trauma and from exposure to excessive influences. With this placement, the nodal axis can be understood as a trauma signature indicating that the unresolved trauma is a critical part of the skipped step. An analysis of the house and sign, aspects to the skipped step planet, and aspects to the nodal axis will help identify the nature of this unresolved trauma. This placement also symbolizes a crisis in the uniqueness of the individual. The person has started to detach themselves from prior conditioning but they have either not been able to maintain this process or they remain blind to a critical aspect of how the conditioning imprisons them, which then results in a block to the truest expression of their individuality. This placement can indicate a specific fear or post-traumatic stress that blocks access to the true self. It can also mark the need to reintegrate some former illumination that has been lost or resisted. There is a powerful requirement to embrace the transformational nature of the self. Regression work or deep therapy can help in recovering deeper unconscious material – both traumas and gifts. *This placement emphasizes the importance of the Uranus opposition.
*Pluto:
When Pluto squares the nodes the unresolved material relates to the deepest unconscious self; its motivations, compulsions, resistances and its urge for transformation. In some ways this is the ultimate skipped step. Pluto square the nodal axis can be like a battle between the adaptive self and the higher self, between ego and soul. This placement represents a fundamental encounter with deeper unconscious forces, either to summon radical transformation or to become trapped in psychological attachments and compulsions. Or even a combination of both. A critical divide in the deeper self needs exploration and resolution yet this placement indicates the potential (as all skipped steps do in some way) for tremendous resistance to the evolutionary goal. This placement suggests that a struggle between power and powerlessness has been playing out over lifetimes. There exists a need to identify limitations in order to transform them as well as a need to form powerful relationships with other people, objects or teachings that are symbolic of the intended transformation in the self. In this way you may learn by absorbing the energy of others. This skipped step may indicate a variety of power dynamics ranging from pronounced psychological disturbance to issues regarding the appropriate use of power and an inquiry into its source of origin. There may be issues of personal betrayal on every level. Betrayal of the self and of others, AND being betrayed by others. Or there may exist a need to confront limitations, both of self and others. This skipped step demonstrates a critical juncture in the evolution of the soul involving a profound choice as to what to commit to in order to effect transformation. Furthermore it implies the necessary commitment has been intermittent or lacking in the past, emphasizing a need to honor the commitments made now in order to resolve this prior inconsistency.
*Neptune:
When Neptune is square the nodes the unresolved material pertains to the subtle issues of one’s sense of ultimate meaning, one’s dreams and ideals. The skipped step can therefore revolve around the loss of meaning, profound disillusionment or despair that leads to loss of life force and will. In some cases the negative ramifications are so extreme as to lead to catatonic disassociation. The Neptune skipped step may also represent an unresolved dream or ideal that the person has suppressed or been unable as yet to fulfill, that now demands exploration. Analysis of the Evolutionary Axis will illustrate the nature of these unfulfilled dreams and aspirations. Exploration of such themes can involve distinguishing whether or not such dreams need to be physically realized or can exist solely as fantasies fulfilled in the imagination. The necessary discrimination required here is difficult to attain because this skipped step involves a struggle to clarify the difference between fantasy and reality. This placement can lead to a spiritual crisis and transformation. Just as easily this placement points to someone who has lost their spiritual way, who now wanders meaninglessly in cycles of despair, and perhaps is compensating for the loss with drug addiction or other similarly self-sabotaging behaviors. In rare cases this skipped step could indicate someone who has been exposed to a psychic attack of some kind, someone who has been possessed by unconscious or astral forces. But because of the possibility for fantasy and delusion reflected by this placement, this can be an especially problematic to work with.
* These are the more difficult of the squared planets to the nodes

Saturn-Neptune in Leo People
John F. Kennedy (29/5/1917)
J.F. Kennedy (Gemini) is the second American president who was assassinated on the list-so that could be a message for presidents to watch out When Saturn and Neptune conjoin. JFK as he is known was seen as the golden boy of the Kennedy dynasty in the United States who was poised to save America in the early sixties and lead them into a modern era. He possibly had satyriasis, and became sexaholic. Then tragedy struck. The violence of his public killing and the messy cover up that went with it still reverberates very loudly today with question marks hanging. On that day in Dallas, 22nd November 1963, not only was J.F.K experiencing a Nodal Reversal on the Capricorn-Cancer axis, which is very fated, he also had Uranus/Vertex/Pluto on his Moon in Virgo but transiting Saturn in Aquarius was actually square to Neptune in Scorpio so it had something to say.
François Mitterrand (26/10/1916)
Mitterrand (Scorpio) was the leader of the ‘socialist’ party in France during the 1970s, longer than previous presidents. He was an opponent of De Gaulle. As a young man he was involved in the Vichy Government during WWII which was accused of cooperating with the Nazis in the round up of French Jews, but he later joined a faction that split off so avoided the accusations himself. This adaptability meant he switched views expediently to stay ahead, with his eye on power. He became that common hybrid the ‘moneyed-socialist’. His presidency was beset by numerous scandals. Often they involved his mistresses but there were also a couple of suspicious ‘suicides’ of ministers in his government and the admission of an illegitimate daughter. He had Pluto on his MC. The Saturn-Neptune conjunction was at the apex of a T-Square with Jupiter (associated with political careers) and the Sun/Moon across signs Libra/Scorpio and that trines the Pluto on the MC.
Susan Hayward (30/6/1917)
Susan Hayward (Cancer) was a tough girl from Brooklyn called Edith Marrener. She wanted to be a star but was rejected frequently so she polished up her accent to talk more smoothly and then took on Hollywood. She was said to be arrogant and a ‘tough cookie,’ yet she was also frugal but wore a mink coat as a symbol of her success which she relished. She was known for her volatile temper and excessive drinking (Moon square Uranus trine Sun/Pluto). She was punished for refusing lightweight roles, but worked hard on her acting and was highly regarded as a professional. She was bold enough to portray a feisty alcoholic woman- a role made for her- but avoided by most other actresses and even a murderess in ‘I Want To Live‘. Her Saturn-Neptune is in Leo but conjunct Venus across signs in Cancer. Neptune’s placement in Leo is often a marker of the glamorous film star.
Betty Ford (8/4/1918)
Betty Ford (Aries) was the ‘First Lady’ wife of US President Gerald Ford who took over when Nixon resigned in 1974. She was born Betty Bloomer and her father died in what could have been a suicide. Troubled by addiction to prescription drugs and with a growing drink habit she was not aware was actually ‘alcoholism’ (her Moon in Pisces opposes Mars in Virgo), she descended into ill health almost to point of no return. Then she pulled herself out of it and restored her health and established a clinic for rehabilitation to help others do the same. This candour and courage in facing her problems head on and going public with it gained her much respect. She even revealed she’d had cancer and a mastectomy. Her Saturn-Neptune is square to Mercury in Taurus, hence the boldness in speaking out.
Muriel Spark (1/2/1918)
Muriel Spark (Aquarius) brings in her own words a challenge to the mind’s eye in her stories. She spent time in Africa in her youth and then after divorcing her husband struggled for money in Kensington with a young child. She was editor of the Poetry Review at a young age. She had an original voice with an off-the-wall Catholic sensibility. She converted to Catholicism in 1954. 'The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie' (1961) is a classic of its kind but all her other novels like 'Memento Mori' and 'Girls of Slender Means' can be just as funny and devilishly provocative. She hated ‘timid’ writers so more than compensated for that by taking risks in her writing. She was allowed her own room at The New Yorker. This puckish quality and the sheer economy of words gives her work an unmistakable edge. She was spiky and acerbic to the end. Her Saturn-Neptune is opposite the Sun in Aquarius so perhaps all the snapping tension in the writing came from that- the ‘spark’ as it were? But the Moon/Mars in Libra square to Pluto in Cancer probably helped.
Shirley Jackson (14/12/1916)
Shirley Jackson (Sagittarius) was one of the great supernatural horror story writers. She also claimed to be a witch of a kind, often just to deter people from bothering her when she was doing her work (Moon square Venus). She wrote trivia too but has a special liking for horror and said “I delight in what I fear” (Pluto opposite Mars/Mercury). The Haunting (1963) is a film based on her novel of the same name. It set the standard for this kind of supernatural house story and has been freely copied in repeated film versions but the Wise (1963) version has never really been equalled. And her short story ‘The Lottery’ (1948) which appeared in The New Yorker is held as the model of powerful short story telling in Creative Writing schools and anthologies across the USA. It certainly touched a deep nerve about all that is hidden under the surface of the collective psyche. She was fiery as she had Sun, Moon and Ascendant in fire signs. Her Saturn-Neptune conjunction, also in the fire sign of Leo is square to Jupiter in Aries.

Discerning Truth | live Kundalini Yoga class
In a T-square with the Nodal Axis, Neptune can make for desillusion, disbelief, mistrust and flat out deception, but he also challenges us to modify our beliefs, political, cultural or religious traditions and adjust them to the known facts. However, it is hard to discern what facts and data are true, and which ones are not. This kriya yoga practice helps us to develop and strengthen awareness, so we can tune in to our intuition, and inner knowing that reveals the ultimate truth of all things.

mercury square the nodes
this type of square always has very mercury retrograde vibes but only for a couple of days and in ways that will feel like you have been personally targeted. mishaps and developments can be expected around themes of justice (or injustice) or a tendency toward people pleasing, perhaps taken too far to the other end of the spectrum.

2023 Aquarius Full Moon
Tuesday, August 1, 18:32 UT, 9°16’ Aquarius Chart erected for Washington, DC
Tumblr media
The key phrases for the Full lunar phase are “culminate, illumine, fulfill” and “pour all your energy into your intention.” And there is so much energy available.
The Full Moon is actually a fixed t-square: Sun/Leo and Moon/Aquarius are both square Jupiter/Taurus. There’s a little bit of “making a mountain out of a molehill” - or the opposite, thinking “it can take care of itself.” Whichever is more habitual for you, will probably come to the fore. If we can possibly step back, detach, and view things with a clear eye (Aquarius Moon) we may receive valuable insights.
There is a constructive outlet for that Jupiter energy, in the form of an exact trine from Mars/Virgo. This favors solid, practical (Earth sign) accomplishments. We really would rather be doing concrete things with this energy. Just a question of knowing where to direct it! (Your natal house positions of transiting Mars and transiting Jupiter.)
There’s also an exact opposition between Mercury/Virgo and Saturn Rx/Pisces. We don’t have enough information, &/or we lack the right information; someone is telling us “no” and we don’t like it. With Mercury about to enter its next Retrograde Zone (Thursday, August 3) whatever “it” is will be one theme to work on.
And, transiting Pluto Rx/Capricorn continues to square the Lunar Nodal axis across Aries/Libra - as we (in the north) endure the hottest summer in eons. (But hey, those corporate profits are more important.)
Between the Leo Sun’s desire to thrive, and the Aquarius Moon’s need for unique individuality - we can make some progress in peeling off whatever our “culture” has told us to do/be, but doesn’t fit.

astro notes: daily transits 6/22
Saturday, 6/22, the astrological influences are certainly marked by a mix of defensiveness, determination, and emotional sensitivity my loves. Now the day begins with challenging aspects that may provoke defensive reactions and highlight underlying fears. However, supportive lunar aspects provide the courage to confront these issues. The evening brings further introspection on how our mental and emotional states impact our personal growth.
Key Influences
Capricorn Moon Opposing Venus (3:19 a.m.):
Defensive Reactions: This aspect may lead to early morning defensiveness, especially in matters related to relationships and self-worth. The authoritative Capricorn Moon clashes with the sensitive and affectionate nature of Venus.
Emotional Tension: There could be a struggle between maintaining control and expressing vulnerability, leading to emotional tension.
Cancer Sun Quincunx Pluto (1°33' Cancer–Aquarius) Before Dawn:
Fight-or-Flight Urge: This aspect heightens the fight-or-flight response, requiring us to examine the fears driving our reactions. It’s a call to look deeper into our subconscious motivations and transformative potential.
Intense Emotional Undercurrents: The quincunx between the Cancer Sun and Pluto suggests intense emotional undercurrents that need to be addressed for healing and growth.
Capricorn Moon Trine Mars in Taurus (9:37 a.m.):
Determination and Courage: This supportive trine provides the determination and courage needed to face challenges. It encourages practical action and steadfastness in pursuing goals.
Constructive Energy: The trine between the disciplined Capricorn Moon and the steady Mars in Taurus channels energy constructively, making it a good time for tackling tasks that require persistence.
Moon Opposing Mercury (12:37 p.m.):
Emotional Sensitivity: The opposition between the Moon and Mercury increases emotional sensitivity, making it easy to feel misunderstood or withdrawn. This aspect can draw us back into our shell, emphasizing the need for clear communication.
Potential Miscommunications: Be mindful of potential miscommunications, as emotions may cloud logical thinking and lead to misunderstandings.
Mercury in Cancer Square the Moon’s Nodal Axis (Evening):
Mental–Emotional Interference: This aspect highlights how our mental and emotional states can interfere with our evolutionary progress. It calls for introspection and understanding of how past emotional patterns influence current behavior.
Focus on Growth: The square to the nodal axis emphasizes the need to address these issues to align more closely with our life’s purpose and evolutionary path.
Integrating the Influences
Early Morning Tensions:
Acknowledge Defensive Reactions: Be aware of the potential for defensiveness early in the morning. Recognize the emotional tension and strive for a balance between control and vulnerability.
Examine Underlying Fears: Use the quincunx between the Cancer Sun and Pluto as an opportunity to examine underlying fears and subconscious motivations. Reflect on what drives your reactions and how you can transform these patterns.
Morning Determination:
Channel Constructive Energy: The Moon’s trine to Mars in Taurus provides determination and courage. Focus on practical tasks and use this energy constructively to make progress on your goals.
Stay Grounded: Keep grounded in your actions and maintain a steady approach to challenges.
Midday Sensitivity:
Practice Clear Communication: During the Moon’s opposition to Mercury, be mindful of emotional sensitivity and potential miscommunications. Strive for clear and compassionate communication to avoid misunderstandings.
Reflect on Emotional Patterns: Take time to reflect on how your emotions influence your thoughts and interactions. This can help in managing sensitivity and maintaining balance.
Evening Introspection:
Address Mental–Emotional Interference: The square between Mercury in Cancer and the Moon’s nodal axis calls for introspection on how past emotional patterns impact your current growth. Identify areas where mental and emotional states may be hindering progress.
Focus on Evolution: Use this insight to align more closely with your life’s purpose and evolutionary path. Consider what changes are needed to move forward more effectively.
Practical Applications
Morning Practices:
Acknowledge Emotions: Start the day by acknowledging any defensive reactions and emotional tension. Practice self-awareness and strive for a balance between control and vulnerability.
Examine Fears: Reflect on underlying fears and motivations. Consider journaling or meditative practices to gain deeper insight into subconscious patterns.
Morning Focus:
Channel Energy Productively: Use the supportive energy of the Moon’s trine to Mars for productive activities. Focus on tasks that require persistence and determination.
Stay Grounded: Maintain a grounded approach to challenges and ensure that actions are practical and steady.
Midday Sensitivity:
Clear Communication: Be mindful of emotional sensitivity and potential miscommunications. Practice clear and compassionate communication to avoid misunderstandings.
Reflect on Emotions: Take time to reflect on how emotions influence your thoughts and interactions. Consider ways to manage sensitivity and maintain balance.
Evening Introspection:
Address Emotional Patterns: Reflect on how past emotional patterns impact your current growth. Identify areas where mental and emotional states may be hindering progress.
Focus on Growth: Use this insight to align more closely with your life’s purpose and evolutionary path. Consider what changes are needed to move forward more effectively.

The Difference Between 4H and 7H Synastry/Karmic & Past Life Energy:
With this synastry, these two houses when activated bring the most safe, secure, comfortable and at home feeling for the house person. But there is a profound difference.
Tumblr media
Person 1: With this boy, I share immense amount of karmic/soulmate aspects. I am a Capricorn Sun and rising with a Scorpio Moon, and he is a Capricorn Sun, Cancer moon and Taurus rising.
His Sun in my 1H, his Moon in my 7H (conjuncts my descendant), his rising is in my 5H, his Venus in my 2H.  My Sun & rising are in his 9H, my Moon in his 7H, and my Venus in his 8H. My IC conjuncts his South Node, and my MC conjuncts his North Node. My Saturn conjuncts his AC, his vertex conjuncts my MC, and his AC/DC squares both my Nodes, and both his IC/MC squares both my IC/MC  His Pluto conjuncts my Venus and squares my Mars - His Pluto touching my inner planets will also signify and create this safe/home feeling deep down I crave.
(In our composite chart we have our Moon, Vertex, North Node in the 7H.)
That being said, with this boy the feeling of home he gave me was overwhelming. He was the first boy in my life that filled a void I had buried. He made me feel complete, seen, safe, everything felt like it happened a thousand times before, communication flowed easily, our bodies were in sync, I immediately felt comfortable enough to joke around with my thoughts, and his presence calmed me. Without him I felt less than, and incomplete. I didn't even really know him since I only hung out with him a few times. All he did was give me this 'complete' feeling and without his presence I felt that there was only a half of me present.
His Pluto conjunct my Venus and Squaring my mars created the safeness I desperately desired for. But I still had a filter around him, although he felt familiar and everything felt like it has happened before, a part of me still held back my feelings and true desires. Even though his presence was something that felt familiar, my rationality told me I was a fool and naĂŻve to care so deeply for someone who I don't even know.
I found that when it comes to 7H synastry, someone coming in and lighting up that part of your life that you 'technically' lack, it makes you feel whole. But there is still a filter you somewhat present (if you're anything like me because the idea of what a safe space is, seems unrealistic and scary.)
That being said, I also would say with this person there is a past life energy that I heavily felt from him. I don't think every individual that falls in your 7H you come across with will give you the exact feeling I felt, but I do think it paints the idea of 7H energy quite well. I met him in 2019 and if you know anything of astrology the year 2019 represented karmic relationships, and with how I felt with him; I can attest to that.
He triggered my wounds and I triggered his (Karmic).
When it comes to 4H synastry, the energy is different. The main feeling you get when someone actives this part in you is comfortability, easy-going, unworried, safe to express whatever is in your mind, the energy feels trustworthy.
Person 2: I recently met a boy who falls heavy in my IC/MC/Nodal Axis and vice versa.
His Sun, Mercury & Venus are in my 4H.
(Below are his planets in my 4H making into my chart)
His Sun conjuncts my Jupiter, His Sun opposes my Moon (6 degree orb), his Sun trines my Mercury, Lilith and ascendant, his Sun sextiles my Mars, his Mercury conjuncts my IC, his Mercury sextiles my Uranus, his Mercury trines my Chiron, his Venus squares my ascendant and my Mercury, his Venus sextiles my Neptune, his Venus trines my Venus and North Node.
My Venus is in his 4H (My Venus Conjuncts his IC)
(Also: his Vertex conjuncts my South Node and Neptune, his Moon is in my 1H, his Sun, Mercury, Venus are in my 4H, my Moon in his 3H, my Sun, Rising, and Mercury are in his 5H and my Venus is in his 4H.
Anyway, with this boy he is very new, I only met him a few times but the energy I feel with him is captivating. Prior to meeting him, we messaged online for a few weeks but nothing came of it since he was traveling for work constantly. A year passes and I run into him at a local bar and immediately I felt comfortable.
I was sober and this was my first time meeting him but right away our conversation was a breeze. We both joked with each other, there was no awkward silence, or hesitance with our conversation, no confusion, the energy that surrounded us overflowed with the feeling of trust. I felt safe to say and act however I wanted with him, and I could tell he felt the same. But with this overlay, there is no dire need for this particular person I'd say. It's more comforting but the feeling can be a bit underwhelming.
What I mean by that, as a Scorpio Moon and Sagittarius Venus,
I equal this: feeling an emotion from someone = desire
So though I felt confident and safe enough to be myself, a part of me wanted to feel something more. The part of me that is used to chaos and destruction was a bit bored. I wanted to feel more or wanted to feel more enthralled by him. I assume that might enhance as we maybe get to know each other because objectively he is gorgeous but at starters it did seem lackluster.
As night progressed, I did see him speak to another girl and immediately I felt a claim in me that I wouldn't of expected to experience. I was taken back and confused why he was talking to this girl and not me. I then realized I was acting unnecessary so I walked away, but I'm curious to think if the active 4H gave me an subconscious automatic claim towards that person because subconsciously that's how I thought "things' should be.
I never was possessive or jealous with the boy that I shared the 7H synastry with. There was almost this underlying feeling that no one could live up to me kind of vibe? (this feels more past life energy) I somehow felt reassured enough just by his presence that he wanted me more than anyone else, and that most likely was not true. I think I was so disillusioned by his calming presence, I just couldn't feel myself being the one that 'got away' with him, even though that ended up happening. 7H felt more spiritual and unspoken, but with the 4H boy, it somehow felt more real, more tangible, so when I saw him speak to another girl, I was taken back and felt threatened.
The 4H energy didn't make me feel complete or whole, and without him, I didn't feel a loss, but it felt more realistic, grounded, stable and secure. I automatically feel like this boy could be in my life for a very long time. It just feels realistic.
Even though me and the first boy share a lot of IC/MC/AC/DC synastry, his Pluto aspecting my Venus and Mars overwhelmingly takes over. Because he gives me an energy I don't possess, the idea of him not being there was terrifying. Although the feelings felt so complete and whole, I felt it would of turned into more of a dependent relationship, there would be a hard time building and creating with this individual unlike the 4H boy.
Update: I've recently hanged out with him for two days in a row, and the energy is the same. He is so comfortable to be around, I believe we share a more past life connection. Seeing him was completely random, I was out and abruptly passed him. (Mars was opposite his Vertex when I ran into him, and Mars conjuncted my North Node, i'm not sure if that means anything) Anyway it was so unexpectedly easy with him, and I somewhat feel the same way as the guy I shared 7th house synastry with. He was with a girl when I ran into him and I didn't care, I just acted like I was basically dating him and he reciprocated? I'm going to be blunt and transparent but my twin being drunk went ahead and kissed him while I went to the restroom. (Long story) But for some reason I'm not possessive, jealous or afraid of his lack of feelings towards me? But I'm not sure if how I feel about it is a response from my broken attachment style or from my lack of interest? It's hard for me to care for people because I genuinely don't allow myself too, but with him everything feels trustworthy, easy, and stable.
Going off from how I felt with this boy and my reactions in the moment and not the weird situation that occurred, we share such trusting synastry (feel wise ironically enough) it was easy, so easy, I even told him "it's easy with you" and he smirked and said "it is" our behavior was cohesive and in-sync. Him and I were playful with one another, he was very attentive to me and grabbing me, him literally picking me up and hugging me etc but no kissing, no intense sexual tension I'd say, compared to what I've felt with 8H synastry, just comfort. I'm not worried or feel insecure about his actions, I don't overthink even after him literally kissing my twin. I literally saw it happen and yet I'm not worried? I can't explain it lmfao but after he was very attentive to make up for that kind of behavior but it didn't sting or hurt me because how naturally secure and comfortable I feel. I do feel disrespected from that situation but not sad? But I don't know if this is my lack of interest or my subconscious not allowing myself to truly care, at least yet. Date: 5/26/23
(Now relooking at this situation and what I dealt with, my nonexistent reaction was due to my broken attachment style, I made another post about him and it's under 4th house synastry; in that I explain and go more in-depth if anyone else is curious about this synastry Date: 10/1/23)

King Charles and Prince Harry, Astrological Similarities
King Charles and Prince Harry have many of the same astrological planets and aspects, far more than you would find between two random people. They have a lot of similarities even for family members, where you would expect to find similarities between parents and children.
Astrological Similarities (Western Astrology)
Both have their Sun and Mercury in the same sign (Scorpio for Charles, Virgo for Harry). Note that to have the Sun and Mercury in the same sign is quite common astrologically, so by itself this is not a big deal.
2. Both have their Moon (emotions) in Taurus
3. Both have their Venus (love and relationships, also attitude to money) in Libra, and the planets are conjunct (16.23 Lib and 17.42 Lib). Note that this means that Harry's Venus is conjunct Charles's Venus, Neptune (at 14.08 Libra) and IC (13.16 Libra), so Charles's relationship (Venus) with Harry is tied in with his romanticism and rose coloured glasses view of family (Neptune and IC), and it is something that Charles needs to be peaceful (Libra) to feel safe and secure (IC).
4. Both have their Mars (willpower, desire, sex drive) in Sagittarius, and the planets are conjunct (20.57 Sag and 16.57 Sag). Depending on how each of them have decided to manifest the impulses of Sagittarius, this can mean that they go after things in a similar way, lose their temper (and sulk) in a similar way, apply their willpower in a similar way, and so on. An example is that both of them are reported to have had multiple sexual encounters in their youth (Sagittarius has a reputation of being the randy bachelor, this is not always true but it appears to be so in this case).
5. Both have Chiron (asteroid that shows where you are wounded) in the 5th House (indicates wounding in their sense of being an individual)
6. Both have their North Node in Taurus and their South Node in Scorpio
7. Both have a 10th house-4th house nodal axis, Charles North Node is in the 10th House and Harry's North Node is in the 4th House
8. Both have one of their 'Lights" (the Sun or the Moon) in the 4th house (House of home and family) - Charles has his sun there and Harry has his Moon there.
9. Charles has his Moon in his 10th house, the same as his North node, and Harry has his Moon in his 4th house, the same as his North Node.
10. Charles has his Sun and Mercury in Scorpio, the natural ruler of the eight house, and Harry has his Sun and Merucry in his 8th house.
11. Both Charles and Harry have their Uranus in the 11th house. The 11th house is the natural house of Aquarius, which is ruled by Uranus, so Uranus is strong in that house. The 11th house is all bout groups and fitting in with a group. It is the opposite house to the 5th house, where both of them have their Chiron (wounding). To me, this indicates that both of them really like to be part of a group and to fit in with that group.
12. They both have Venus in Libra sextile Mars in Sagittarius, so their desires/wants (Mars) create opportunities for them to receive money or have relationships (Venus), and vice versa.
13. Charles has Mars opposite Uranus, Harry has Mars conjunct Uranus. Uranus is the planet of sudden changes. It is an unstable energy, and when it is in a hard aspect to Mars (conjunction, opposition or square), it can cause your anger/desire/willpower to be very volatile. Mars-Uranus people are known to dislike being under anyone else's authority - this is "you're not the boss of me" taken to the maximum. The combination can also indicate people who lash out in anger when they are hurt, either overtly or covertly.
There may be more similarities that I have not picked up.
I thought this was interesting as it shows that Harry is very much his father's son, astrologically. Of course, the two of them can choose to manifest the energies in different ways (higher ways of sign or lower ways of sign), but the base energy is the same.

One of the articles I was fortunate to have pubished in Dell when it existed was on how important the Nodes are in synastry.
Synastry is pretty misguided. Comparing the planets in two horoscopes tells you ZERO about each individual. Suppose one person has Mercury in conjunction with Jupiter and Uranus and the three are squared by Neptune. That's going to be a mind that's all over the place. It's what I have. Noel Tyl said that it's a mind like a radar machine, always looking to learn something new, always inquiring, always creating, imagining, and more. How does that fit with someone who might have a Mercury-Saturn conjunction opposed by Pluto? It's two completely different ways of thinking. So what if both people have Jupiters on each other's Sun. What counts is who two people need to be to be fulfilled as individuals.
That aside, there is one comparative contact that is of importance. It is when, within 3 degrees, one person has a planet or Angle conjunct or square the other person's Nodal Axis. This will be heavily addressed in one of my three books to be released January 29th.
