smth that kills me is how similar mercymorn and harrow are in their situations and grief re:their cavaliers. in 10,000, a harrow who hadn't been lobotomized would've been just like mercy is now. if mercy had thought of it she would've cracked her skull open to preserve cristabel in a heartbeat. i wonder if mercy felt any envy for what harrow had done, or recognized these parallels- maybe in those last few days she did genuinely feel some kind of kinship with harrow, leading her to *ahem* mercy kill her.

also Christabel is the protagonist of a super gay vampire poem by Samuel Coleridge, she's the pure young lady that contrasts Geraldine the sexy vampiress.
