A sigh passed the young woman’s lips as the sun began to disappear beneath the waves. The waves rocked her quaint vessel as if it were a mother soothing her child. Her meal as well as a plate of identical food remained untouched as she kept her gaze to the depths. Every ripple of its surface a reminder of the mounting minutes that her company kept her waiting.

It was a splash along the port side that alerted her to his presence. A deliberated movement since he often sliced through the surf with ease. She stepped up to the side, her forearms perched on the edge as she leaned over to greet her guest.

“You're late again.”

He met her gaze with a scowl, however most of its usual bite appeared to be missing.

“Not by choice.”

She shook her head, “Well, dinner's a bit cold, but I tried something different.”

He slipped back under the waves. Her gaze lingered on the water as the shorter dorsal fin on his tail briefly broke the surface. Just the sight of that appendage could send sailors and surfers alike scrambling towards dry land.

She straightened her posture before she headed to the stern. The two plates plucked up from was passed as a dinner table to be placed on the deck. He made his perch along the swim deck's collapsible ladder. His gaze followed her as she folded her legs under her. She scooped up a portion of her meal before it was lifted to her lips.

Her guest mirrored her movements, however he waited until she swallowed.

“I didn't do anything crazy to it. Promise.”

He regarded her for a moment before he tried the dish. Flavor met his taste buds which gave an odd tingling sensation. It was his puzzled expression that caught her attention.

“Nuna masala.” She Pressed on, “You seemed to like the peppers I brought the other day, so thought we'd try spiceful foods.”

Another spoonful lifted to his lips was his answer.

The pair continued their meal. A comforting silence enveloped them with the clinks of utensils on plates paired with the slapping of waves against the hull. She watched him as she moved the remnants on her plate.

“I got you something.”

He looked up from his half eaten meal, but did not speak. She moved her plate away and made her approach to the edge of the swim deck, an object clenched in her fist and she opened it.

“I never thanked you properly for fetching my bracelet when we met. It was the first one I made so...it's kinda special.”

In her open palm, rested a length of braided cord meticulously woven into a bracelet. A bracelet of a similar weave pattern was affixed to her wrist. A few delicate shells were nestled in between some of the more complex knots. The woven cord stood out prominently with its strands dyed a deep plum shade to further bring a attention to the tiny alabaster shells.

A gentle smile curled her lips, “I saw the colors and it just...made me think of you.”

He gingerly plucked up the mass of woven cord. The object turned over in his slender fingers, fingertips brushed the smooth surface of the shells. She was rewarded with a hushed chuckle.

“Look. If you think it's stupid, I'll take it back.” She pouted through pursed lips.

She reached out only for him to back away to hold it just out of reach.

“Thought it was a gift, doll.”

His cocky smirk caused her pout to soften.

“Well, don't lose it. It took forever to dye those strands.”

The vessel shifted as he surged forward. His hand planted against the swim deck. His svelte form being supported by his arm strength and what would have been his hip resting on the deck. The abrupt motion caused her to lose her footing; the edge swiftly approaching. She never met the swim deck or the surf just below, but instead met his chest. An arm snaked around her waist.

His sharp gaze pierced her. A thumb traced her bottom lip as more of the mesmerizing melody of his laugh met her ears.

“Weren't you supposed to be good on those legs of yours?”

11) What was your inspiration for your OC?

Weeeeeellll hahaha very interesting one to answer XD Because the stupidest, randomest stuff can inspire me XD Sooooo

Ryn-Well, in a way, she started off as a way more badass and cool self insert and the story kinda took off on it's own. Now it is this full, epoch and I can't wait to share it with people.

Seraphina-was inspired by my haircut XD I really wanted to dye my hair red and cut it short kinda like Sabine's is in S 4 of Rebels and I fell in love with it. Then I got to thinking, what if Crosshair had a girlfriend and I just kinda started playing with the idea of a redhead because I could see him with someone spunky and fun and it just sort of took off from my obsession with the color red :D

Valia-was born when I read a reader insert story that was actually a Crosshair x reader but the way it started was saving Echo from the Techno union and I thought, well if the character was in love with Tech, this is how I'd tell the story (I loved the original so much. It's on Ao3 but I think the owner deactivated their account :'( )

Leyla-she sort of was born when I was playing with the idea of a Hunter x jedi fic idea that just sort of evolved to be more OC than a one-shot thing and it just evolved. Also, I was playing with the idea of someone the complete oposite of Ryn and how Hunter would react to her.

Zephyr-was born when I was reading an AMAZING fic by @ladysongmaster called Call of the Sea which is flipping amazing with Rex as a merman. Of course Hunter is my favorite so I started wondering what Hunter would be like as a merman and the story sort of evolved from there :D

17) If your OC has kids, are they a good parent? Do they ever feel guilty if they have to leave them?

Seraphina will eventually have kids (she also looks after her little brother who is kinda like her kid. He has a huge crush on Omega eventually :D She is a great parent and definitely feels guilty any time she feels like they have to part. Right now, I'd love for Hunter and Ryn to have kids but I don't have an idea for that quiet yet. I think they'd all make great mothers honestly.

24) Can they play any instruments? If so, what do they play?

Ryn and Zephyr are the only musical ones. Ryn sings like a nightingale and is nicknamed "the Siren of Kamino" She has a necklace which is a small music box that she can change up the songs of lullabies. It was one of the few things she took with her when she left home. Zephyr can play the flute and the violin.

The young woman stifled a yawn as she continued to work the mass of dough to her standards to be plopped into pans to bake. She continued working the dough sparing glances to the chrono on the wall as the sky outside began to lighten with the sunrise. Her pulse spiked when the chrono was checked again. She abandoned the lump of dough as she snatched up a pastry box. The bell chiming as the door opened and closed.

I have not released any of that yet because I’m a little self conscious of it…..I was teetering between reader vs OC but a friend on here convinced me to go oc. I hope she’s liked 😂 oh and Hunter is a merman. 🤷‍♀️ I thank ladysongmaster for putting the idea of mer clones in my head.

2. I have not forgotten about the reader bingo I promise. It’s just life has hit me the last few weeks….so I’m getting there….but there are the two requests from readers I’m so hyped about. Yessssss so that would definitely by my OC Valia Drystand. She is Tech's love interest in my series "Technically, We're In Love". Valia is bubbly, happy, always tries to lighten the mood with a joke or two, especially when she's scared. She's been a prisoner of her uncle for over 10 years so she hasn't experienced the galaxy much, and is kind of like Omega in that realm. She's innocent and sweet and wants to make the world better. She can be a little cocky because she's just as smart and brainy as Tech and she knows it ;D but genuinely tries to do things to help people. But that won't stop her from using phrases like "I told you so" or "I thought it was obvious" ;D

A close follow up would be Zephyr (from The World Where You Live). Since the story isn't released and I don't have a whole lot of her fleshed out yet, I don't have a whole lot to say other than she is suppose to be your precious cinnamon roll who will throw herself in harms way to protect those she cares about and even those she doesn't know (*coughs, how she meets the merman in the first place* *hacks, yeah, Hunter is a merman in this one)

49. Which one of your OCs would most likely enjoy memes

I would say Ryn/Serena! (she's a medic from my story Shelter From the Storm) She has a fun and bubbly personality and likes a good joke. She's always playing around with Wrecker and Tech and makes it her personal mission to make Crosshair smile once a day. Of course she has to tease Hunter whether or not they're on good terms XD She is a serious person who doesn't want to drag the mood down with how serious something is. "there's always a way out" is her mentality and if humor is the road, the better! But I can see her sitting up late at night laughing with the others or just spamming the others on Pinterest like I do to my siblings.
